I believe Coates is pretty much complete subject to a medical..

Cheers

Macca {Ed033's Note - This is the official Macca.}

Great news if he signs quality young centre back!
Skurks

I really hope so macca and thanks for keeping us informed I think he will be a great signing Dan T

Fingers crossed mate, he would be a quality addition to our sqaud.

Blair Mayne YNWA

Good news. We need to sign him this summer, as Coates will be more expensive in the winter (pun very much intended)

Cheers Macca, Good stuff as always greatly appreciated

Jim

Yes, cheers macca
days of intense talk of dann and cahill and in a matter of hours we get a gem

Top signing! Tks for the info, mate! SingRed

Do you have any idea when medical might take place? This week?

Thanks
Jamie

Parker would do for the winter too!

Haha
thats quality!!

Way to be late to the party....

Any more news on Yossi or Bellamy rejoining Macca?

Genius gag!

Macca, wanna come round for dinner. The girlfriend will cook. Can have a nice chat about politics and philosophy and maybe after, play some parlour games. Fancy dress optional.

Thanks again Macca.
I must admit I frowned yesterday when you mentioned Coates as I couldn't work out why would be interested. Sure he fits the bill, youngish (25), British. I wasn't quite sure of his pedigree having played mostly in the IFA Premiership. Luckily some kind soul pointed out it was Sebastien and not Colin.
Way too much cider for me...

The Booter

You just took the words out of my mouth mate, heard the same thing.

jay b

P.S, Can I recommend the we call the official version Macca001, just for clarity ;)

The Booter

Great news Macca, keep up the good work :)

Rob YNWA

As usual Macca is always spot on with transfers. thanks for all the transfer news so far.
Cheers mate

Nnam

Cheers Macca, Great News.

dt

Good job, think he will be great, thanks very much macca for keeping the fans informed.........lfc

Thanks macca great news

THE BIRD

He's tall and built like a brick wall and young will be a quality signing

Is there work permit issues?

I think Macca is full of it myself. If he was really in the know, he'd have found out about it ages ago rather than just four days or so before every single newspaper and media publication in the country! ;)
Well done mate, thanks for your info.

Happy days ed's and macca fookin legends come on the poooooool ;)

Macca mentioned Coates before any big news paper had printed this news.

I think Macca is Paul Dalglish or the King himself to keep us fans informed before the rags.

This just made my day

Hope this is true Macca, he looked some player at the Copa America. Keep up the good work Macca (maybe next time you give us a bit more notice so we can get down the bookies and place some bets!)

RedSG

Io this might aswell be as the eds said not marquee but flagship signing

dinner is on me macca

atlfc70

Imagine if macca was Dalglish?! Cant see it but would be ace if it was!
Cheers again macca

Nice one Big Mac ....Hickin' hope this is true but if it falls through on a "technicality" we still trust you.
What a signing!!!...
ANFIELDPETE

Thinking about it...could be one of our most important signings...if it happens...here's hoping...

cheers macca

numondo

Thanks Macca for the update, keep up the good work!

I thought it was Ralph Coates coming back - much better comb-over than Bobby Charlton!

Thanks Macca!

Hello Eds. just a quick question will we sign Dann aswell as Coates (if he signs)
Thanks for the time {Ed033's Note - Don't think so mate, looks like a centre back will be brought unless further players are sold.}

Ed are the rumours true that a club has offered 8mil for Skrtel? thanks Wheeler92 {Ed002's Note - I am not aware at this time that there has actually been an offer.}

I see Skertel is being linked to russia - could be a move that generates funds for a Dann or Cahill move reinforcing the young and/or english policy?

23 Aug 2011 23:07:18
LIverpool are interested in Marco Borriello who'll be sold off by Roma

I posted this earlier and got this reply.... {Ed009's Note - I have heard nothing at all to suggest the club are looking past his age and the fact that he just signed for Roma. Odd, isn't it?}
Glad i'm not the only one who read this report!!!

I live in Rome watch this selfish play for milan and Rome. hope he never join Liverpool. very mush selfish striker will make suarez life hell.

Just thought some of the Ed's might know this as many different websites are reporting different things.

Do you know what wage Samuel Eto'o will be on at Anzhi? I'm just curious (Also, do you know what wage Messi and Ronaldo are on as I'm guessing they are the next two highest paid players). Cheers for any help.

Thanks, James. {Ed033's Note - Eto'o will be paid a reported £300,000 a week which adds up to about £20 mil a year, Cristiano Ronaldo earns a mere 12 million a year.}

Cheers for your help. Does this mean CR is the second highest paid and Messi third? Again, I'm just curious.

Thanks, James.

£300,00 TAX FREE if reports are correct - if only I'd practised more and laid off the pies...

Martin

Jesus christ, how does Ronaldo get through it? The hardship of being a proffessional footballer, eh? :/

Eto'o wages is tax free. So he walks away with all the 300k to himself. To be fair he does need the money, he was only on 160k a week at Inter.

Blair Mayne YNWA

£368,000 a week. Equates to £2,130 an hour. £53,000 a week. £0.60 a second! I hope he thinks its all worth the racial abuse he's gonna get in Russia. Just ask Odemwingie...

YNWA! (Adam)

SSN are giving a breakdown of his earnings down to the second...it's Hicking obscene!!....He takes a crap and earns my monthly wage!
ANFIELDPETE

Jez, you'd think he try and sort a better deal for himself

Guardian says we have made an 8 million bid for coates.

They also say that he has grown an extra inch to 6' 6''. Must be the pride of being linked with us?
Iggypop

23 Aug 2011 22:56:20
Eds whats the latest on adam Johnson, please say we have a chance of signing him? {Ed033's Note - We don't have a chance of signing him.}

23 Aug 2011 22:52:26
Ed do you think that if we do sign coates he would start for us ahead of skrtel and agger?? {Ed033's Note - I believe he will act as cover for carragher and agger initially, filling in whenever necessary but in the long term he will start. That is if he signs of course.}

Would'nt it make sense to play with 3 at the back? if we did sign him of course! Coates in the middle of Carra and Agger with Kelly and Enrique as wingback's that's a really good defence! Alphared

Long term wilson and coates sounds pretty good haha

23 Aug 2011 22:48:05
Hi Ed - please could you put a link on the LFC page for the Hillsborough e-petition.
keep up the good work
{Ed033's Note -https://submissions.epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/2199}

Thanks Ed 033. quick reply very much helpfull. {Ed002's Note - Note that you will not be able to sign it from outside of the UK.}

Ed is this e-petition only for UK residence only? {Ed002's Note - Yes. There are strict rules about who can sign and who can't.}

23 Aug 2011 22:41:43
Mancity have till 12 midnight to submit their bid for Coates, or else the player is Liverpool's. And it is looking like the player is dead set on coming to Anfield.

Seen on Dani Pachecos twitter (it is actually him), that he has said he is close to joining Rayo Vallecano on loan, and that it could be done by tomorrow. I personally think it would be a good move for him and hopefully he'll come back next season a more experienced player. Bellamy in for this season would be a good move
YNWA
CE9

Hopefully he goes awful player

Bellamy is nothing but trouble and he's in his early 30s, which means he SHOULD be out of the picture according to LFC's new policy of signing young players under the age of 26 :)

Downing is 27!! Doh {Ed002's Note - And Doni?}

23 Aug 2011 21:45:36
Aqualini to AC Milan to be completed tomorrow report Sky Italia.

Interesting, but he has been in Rome this weekend. Was on the Rome Manchester Jet2 flight on Tuesday evening

23 Aug 2011 21:44:48
ed can you shed a little light on the coates rumours have we agreed a fee or close to coz i am a little confused
great site btw {Ed001's Note - Nacional say that a fee has been agreed.}

23 Aug 2011 21:36:07
just noticed ed you replied to a post just now, " he has to have his medical yet". does this mean you are confident this sebastian coates is going to sign then?. {Ed001's Note - if personal terms can be agreed, obviously it is dependent on if any other teams also agree terms with Nacional as well.}

He spoke to Saurez today too

Ed whats your thoughts on coates?DORSET RED {Ed002's Note - I refer to earlier answers.}

23 Aug 2011 21:17:05
Ed do you know if the stories regarding bringing Niang in are concrete? Also is it true due to contractual problems it would be a nominal fee?

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath about it just yet. He is simply a kid and he does have a contractual issue but he probably cannot move abroad until he is 18 in any case.}

Is he not 32 years old {Ed002's Note - He is 16.}

23 Aug 2011 21:16:00
Eds,

Just heard on newstalk (irish radio station) that we have signed Coates? Is it true?

YNWA {Ed001's Note - it's not done yet as far as I know, he has to have a medical etc.}

Well it looks like macca is right again maybe people will believe him from now on instead of having a go at him or was it a lucky guess again as some people say

red jonno

Ed 1 when. You say he has to have a medical does that mean a deal has been reached between the two clubs {Ed001's Note - there is more to it than that, general price is agreed between the clubs, player's rep will sort out personal details, then the player will fly over for a medical while the clubs finalise payment terms.}

Hello eds, can you tell me is this coates guy any good or is he another like wilson "one 4 the future"?
would he be 3rd choice behind carra agger? or even a starter? {Ed001's Note - no idea, not seen enough to judge him.}

Hiya ed
Are you suggesting that all that's left to do is for the player to have his medical? Interested in any information you might have on the deal. Also, are we genuinely in for Bellamy? I think he'd be fantastic to have back.

Anfield Rapstar {Ed001's Note - according to Nacional the fee is agreed, hence the sudden influx of rumours. A deal is far from done though, it will depend on which other clubs jump in for him, if any.}

{Ed001's Note - it's not done yet as far as I know, he has to have a medical etc.}
IS THAT MEANS DEAL IS AGREED SUBJECT TO MEDICAL ED ? {Ed001's Note - no, he has not agreed personal terms and there is still every chance other clubs will step in.}

23 Aug 2011 20:42:42
i would love to see marin and hazard in a liverpool shirt playing together, they would be really good for our future {Ed002's Note - It would have to be a real big shirt.}

Haha Ed002, must be the comment of the year :D :D

DanielDenmark

LOL ED ! Your jokes never get old mate !!!
Thanks,
Adam O'K ;) YNWA.

Nahh nowhere close, the comment from Ed 002 to Ed 009 about him scouting the streets looking for boys was much funnier

Not necessarily; they're both about 5 ft 5, they could squeeze into an XL :P

The cost of both would also be big

H Ed 002 is a legend

Ed 002 for LIFE. :D
Furqan.

That cheered me up mate thanks

Hahahha well said ED...u made me reply coz this is surely the comment of th year :D :D simply awesome

Rana

That was brilliant mate lol! :D and yeh the one ed002 said to ed009 was hilarious!

maka

One of Jan Molby's old ones?

If damn sure is possible, we can get both, infact i think if we really put all our interest into Marin(after signing areas where we had problem like CB), we can easily get him. Hazard would be tougher to get and i can confirm that Hazard will not leave this summer even if its Real or Barca who come for him let alone Arsenal. If we do get CL and say if we do also win the title, do u think its beyond Hazard to think that we are the better club than Arsenal supposing he was to choose to play in the EPL. However that is easily said than done...

Ed 002 your the nuts!

Paul R

Ed002, as i understand you arer a female...if so will you come to seychelles and marry me plse.. the reply reeally made me laugh out loud...a really big shirt indeed. good one Ed002

23 Aug 2011 19:48:54
Ed do you think we might bring in a creative attacking mid/winger to replace cole and aquilani if they leave? If they did have you got any suggestions other than benayoun {Ed002's Note - Macca suggested Banayoun.}

We can still get Diego Ribas now while he is still available. No other player who is still available fits that role better.

Anzhi Makhachkala are targeting Martin Skrtel in a £10mil deal. They will double his current £60k per week to make him the highest paid Slovakian footballer.
I also heard Scott Dann will be signing by deadline day,(fee around £9mil+ add ons) and as widely reported the Uruguayan chap could be joining to.

Terry Rimmer

Hope your right skrtel is a liability

Anzhi certainly seem to be a club with money but just checked a club forum and no mention of Skyrtl
CR

Probably because his name is Skrtel

Not surprised you couldn't get info on him

Only 60k per week where eto'o gets 350k per week????? with that club he should get at least 150k haha

He said they will double his 60k a week wages mate, so thats 120k a week not far off you 150k a week estimation he should be getting?
Shottski.

10MIL for centre back who can't head a ball! No Brainer! Goodbye.

COATES DEAL IS ON BBC link above

Bulls**t it dont say deal is done

The bbc only print facts(fact)
so it is true and believe me this guy makes john terry look like a sunday league footballer he is awsome.
can you tell im excited

To the person that thinks, the BBC is bulls**t. Who mentioned a done deal anyway?

23 Aug 2011 19:03:11
I really hope these rumours are true Ed, about Coates. Because so many people are convinced, we have agreed terms. There is too much reaction to speculation. Everbody on the bandwaggon, Coates has signed or agreed terms. Based on what? Where has this Coates rumour came from Ed ?
I am not saying it's not true, at the moment to me at least it sounds strange( certainly to good to be true) He has a Big Reputation and would appear to be a very good signing. However I feel we are being had here. By Whom i can't say. But when I hear sources from the Times, who are linked to the sun, then I have serious doubts about the credability of the info. Incidentally, what true Liverpool suporters read the aboved named ?

There are to many people on this site react wrongly when given info by the Eds. Eg. last week Eds say Liverpool in talks with Bolton. Before you know it, we singed,sealed and delivered.

i've not seen Maccas rumour regarding Coates. Has he stated it's a done deal. if so why? if not pepople should calm down. i must be honest i don't visit Maccas page and have no idea how reliable he is with his info, so I won't make any comment about him. However it is crystal clear, there is nothing significant happening just yet with coates.

I am regular visitor now,( though pretty new to the site and I am loving it!)
Thanks for your hard work Eds KB {Ed009's Note - Macca did not claim it was a done deal and, quite simply, it isn't. I do think that there is a genuine chance of the player signing though. Expect the situation to unfold significantly in the near future. With regards to the aspersions you are casting as to the validity of the newspaper reports, I would look no further than the Guardian website for a similar article from a reputable news outlet.}

Bbc football claiming we closing in , nearly done deal,
5 gold stars

Excellent post, I for one hope we sign this promising defender, he would be more than welcome, but the only people that do know are KK & DC.

Hey whoever you are lighten up this is a rumours site i think we all accept that most of the posts on here have more to do with wish lists than actual fact but we're havin' a bit of fun, and while i'm postin a good friend of the binman who empties the bins of the boss of a sunbed manufacturer has told me that the new anfield will have a solarium in the moving roof to encourage the south americans to come to liverpool !!!! you know make them feel at home!! :) like i said lighten up - Stevie H

Stop beating around the bush kb and say what you really think.

You seem to be someone looking for facts, rather than rumours. I'm surprised you like the site so much.

Bit of sanity never looks at home on this site, but it's welcome for a change. It's like we are lurching from one mass insanity to the next since the Phil Jones story. One thing anyone with a modicum of sense will realise that until we see it on the official site, it's all crap. If we had known who we would have by now in January, we would have all been over the moon, but the headless chicken brigade have made this summer seem like a disappointment almost...no Aguero, no Hazard, no Turan, no Banega, no Jones, no Young, no Johnson, no Marveux even, how could that have come about lol!!

Look, we just won at the arse for the first time in over a decade, and we were actually very effective for long periods. Please, please if you are reading this, and you're not happy with KK and DC, please give the Bitters a go for a while, they need your kind of support than us.

BTW..Everton....roflmao

ferd

Stop being a kiss-ass. Its all over the newspaper websites and its on BBC that we're in advanced talks with Nacional about the matter. This rumour has been getting stronger since it was made public late last night along with Bellamy. Personally I think the Bellamy rumour is a smoke screen for a striker or a winger to come in and be our last signing after Coates.

Liverpool are in advanced negotiations to sign Sebastian Coates according to BBC SPORT..looks promising, would be a quality acquisition to an already improved squad!

Yeah seen it too, fingers crossed now that it all goes through smoothly without man city butting in...

If it's true that the fee for Coates is 8M, then that could be the steal of the century.Loving what this club is doing.

Chi-Paul

Will be closer to 12 which is still a steal in my opinion

OK, we would all have been gloating if we had got Phil Jones but lets face it, 18m for Phil Jones at 18years of age or 12m for Coates at 20yrs with Copa America winners medal and young player of the tournament behind him?

Happy days. Fair play to the King and DC

Red G

Reports say eventual figure could be as high as £15.7 mill with add-ons.

I think people should not start getting their hopes up to high with regards to Coates just yet. Believe me I really hope we sign him would love him at our club, looks a top defender big and strong, we'll be really dangerous as set-pieces.

Macca said "Coates will sign if no last minute hiccups will happen"

But we all know what can happen in football lets wait till the club confirm it before we get too excited.

Dalglish1980

23 Aug 2011 18:19:17
Ed do you think ther is a chance we could sign lavezzi as i know there was interest and with ngog going, also reports were saying he might go for 20m euros which we can certainly afford. Do you think they might be a chance? Also do you know of any other good attacking players we are currently intersted in (providing sales) other than bellamy and yossi? {Ed002's Note - I think a bid unlikely.}

23 Aug 2011 18:18:58
City bid for Coates imminent.
The Poacher

City fans please stick to your own forum :)

I smell fear from a city fan!!!

Well since City's transfer policy is simply to sign anybody any other club even look at why not? They'll end up with a bigger squad than they have spectators.

Of course city will bid, there the new chelsea, they want everyone and anyone the other top teams want. we have basically scouted good players for the likes of chelsea for last ten years or so, now its city.

I reckon city are just buyin so other clubs cant. they dont need half there strikers!!!

The City chickens will come home to roost. They will finish up with a massive squad of players who are only there for the money and when results go bad ,heads will go down.
If Coates goes to city it will prove that he is more interested in money than he is in playing football.Could end up rich but unhappy like a few already are at City.

Deggen is a good full back and poulsen would do well for city. Why don,t they get them?, i mean we really want them to stay but if City come calling, well, we could,nt stop them could we? robbie

Twitter reporting everything done with regard to Coates
signing and he is due in Liverpool tomorrow to finalise everything (Medical and signature).
vrcomp
Y.N.W.A.

Seriously stop using Twitter as a Source. It means nothing. I could put "Titus Bramble to LFC" on Twitter and suddenly everyone would be saying it and believing it!

I would normally not trust Twitter as any kind of transfer source but it seems as though alot of reliable journalists (yes apparently there is such a thing) are saying it now i.e. Ben Smith and Rory Smith. But hey, they've both been wrong before so who knows?

RedBean

Lots of Journo's posting its true and according, its on there local news (In Uruguay) that the deal has been done for 18 mill Euro's(£15.7 mill)

BBC Sport now reporting it too, they may not be 100% reliable but if there were world rankings for trustworthiness I'd put them in the top 1.

KopKat

I'd love it to be true,from waching only the copa america,i really want this 1,i know people will say yeah but for that money etc..but i feel this lad really is gonna be worth the investment,and if city get him i'm gonna scream.big love to my fellow redmen.kyb

23 Aug 2011 17:48:38
Eds anything confirmed with the Coates rumour other than intrest, can you confirm a bid has been made or is it pure speculations? Thanks in advance. {Ed002's Note - Please refer to earlier answer.}

23 Aug 2011 17:47:18
We've supposedly agreed a fee for Coates.

Also Aquilani's loan deal is as follows:

1 year loan, £6 million buy clause and if he plays 25 games for Milan then they activate a clause meaning they HAVE to sign him.

Post on rumors please ed's

JP

Then he will only play 24 games you no how the Italians work and if he plays 25 they will want him at 2 million

Your getting confused i think m8 it will be us having coates on loan i heard it was him that if he played 25 games or more he had to sign him permenantly for 6 mill

Your just repeating a Tribal Football article...

23 Aug 2011 17:37:28
Hi ed are the rumours that a fee has been agreed for coates true?
Thank you. {Ed002's Note - I don't know to be honest. Nacional may have said something but has of this evening there is no press release from the club. I suspect that nothing will be done and dusted until various options have been considered. Perhaps Liverpool have simply made an acceptable offer. We will see, but it looks good for him to sign.}

Well i hope it's true.Coates is class.Cahill's price is a joke.17 mil for 26 years old player with zero international experience & a year left on his contract with Bolton.Thanks but no thanks.

Good re coates,now for forward/right winger

Just tried to sign the petition but because I live in Canada it will not let me. Good luck on getting those files released.

Can the Irish?

23 Aug 2011 17:17:23
Ed do you think that at another suprise signing comes in like coates has done? If we sell ngog aquilani poulson pacheco cole then i think we will see another top attacking player eg adam johnson or honda not just a backup like bellamy. What do you think ed? {Ed002's Note - I don't think Honda or Johnson will be moving to Liverpool.}

Coates is the surprise signing! No one saw it coming until yesterday. Can't see anyone else signing and to be honest, I don't really think anymore are necessary! One last thing - well done to all the Eds who have been spot on this window and even had to endure alot of abuse. Great job lads & lass!

Coates has Spanish and British ancestry which is likely to assist any application for a work permit.
Fee agreed, last i heard he was flying over to discuss and finalise his terms.
what a signing if it comes off, which looks 9/10 at the moment.
also bellamy on a free, 2 year contract, but stayin on same wages as he ws on at city.
not sure length of contract will be for coates, but im guessing 5 years.

Carlos

Hardly flying when he was training an hour ago.

Nasri's imminent move to City will pave the way for Adam Johnson to join the reds in the following week. Sebastian Coates is also expected to sign for Liverpool by Thursday night. The Craig Bellamy rumours are incorrect. It seems that Soldado from Valencia will be joining Liverpool, with a move expected to be completed on deadline day. Although Valencia do not wish to sell, money is needed. Interest in Scott Dann and Gary Cahill has died down, due to both Birmingham and Bolton asking for a hefty transfer sum.

Big J,

Adam Johnson recently stated that he is really excited for the coming season and can't wait to link up with the likes of Aguero and Dzeko. Maybe if we offer the right price we could get him.....I'm sure we will find out at 11.59 on the 31st of August

OH God not another bloody transfer on deadline day!!! In the last week alone I've read we're gonna sign a dozen players just before the deadline closes.They'll need a revolving door at Anfield that day!

vrcomp
Y.N.W.A. {Ed009's Note - I have heard nothing at all to suggest the club are looking past his age and the fact that he just signed for Roma. Odd, isn't it?}

The report said he'd not long since signed but also went on to say that Roma now wish to get rid and that we were the only team interested. With it looking likely N'gog is on his way i was wondering if he was gonna be the new back up striker.

Liverpool and Nacional have not yet agreed a fee for Coates but there has been contact - Nacional are approaching European clubs via a network of agents to attract interest. To date two Spanish clubs have also made enquiries. Much will depend on whether City allow Mancini to make another buy following Nasri's imminent arrival - rumoured to be City's last of the summer but never say never. I posted earlier this morning that Coates' father is eager for City to join the race and this could very soon be the case. I'm told that they are throwing everything at the Nasri deal and are keen to get it all tied up before a decision is made on this. Expect Chelsea and City to try to hijack this one.

hi i wrote in a few weeks back to tell everyone liverpool had signed park chu-young from ac monaco as it stated on the google player info park chu-young current club liverpool no 13,,,,it was almost sealed via a medical,,,,but then we heard nothing else,, i have found out the reason
we did agree to buy him for 6mill but backed out the reason is every able koreon man has to do national service for 2 years before there 30 and park hasnt so far which means at 26 we would lose him for 2 years when hes 28 not returning till 30 and as far as i read there ns is a full war zone at times ,,not very nice hey,,,so thats the facts as for man u"s park he done his at 19 like most of them do,,,please print this as a lot of fans like myself wanted him at anfield and this is the truth not gossip as ive been seaching the net since it was said he was our player

It was common knowledge that this guy had yet to do his national service. You're suggesting Liverpool were about to buy without knowing that? Laughable. Sounds like you're the one who didn't know. And JS Park didn't do his national service at 19 - he, along with his teammates for S.Korea at the 2002 World Cup were exempted from doing it due to their excellent showing in the tournament. (Semi Final)

So the suggestion that Liverpool pulled out of buying him at the last minute because of this is ridiculous. As if they wouldn't know all this already.

Wow.. I do believe you have just been blown out the water pal.. Unlucky...

Myk

Haha. Indeed he has been. Muppet!

Ben Smith: Nacional have accepted Liverpool offer for Sebastian Coates.

No concrete proof mate?

Hi ed's
Just a quick question really.With Nasri all but done to s**tty.Will this push Johnson further down the pecking order,and if so do you think we could table a late bid for him now or maybe in Jan?Macca your the bomb.
AL

{Ed002's Note - I would not expect a bid this week.}

I would expect a bid for johnson in jan, unless better option comes up in the time in between.

Thanks ed002 for your response,much appreciated.

Danny Pacheco to join Rayo on loan tomorrow

Please sell hes not needed!

23 Aug 2011 16:07:00
Looks like Dani Pacheco will be leaving Liverpool he has just tweeted "On the train to Madrid, finally all looking closed, and ready for medical test tomorrow morning. Will update more tomorrow, thanks to every1". Shame he could have been a great player for us.

U do realise he has only gone on loan, the lad needs more experience and maybe being in his home country will help him progress and be stronger than ever when he returns.

23 Aug 2011 15:53:48
Ed would you say there is a chance we could sign either adam johnson or james milner? {Ed002's Note - I don't think there is.}

23 Aug 2011 14:53:20
Betting suspended on Bellamy returning to Liverpool. Everyone say sorry to Macca!

Wasn't betting suspended on Cahill to LFC last week? What's your point?

All that is saying is that bookies are not taking anymore bets on it. It has no relevance to Bellamy's future whatsoever.

Sorry! it should be OH NO!!

Sorry Macca! -From everyone, for suspending betting?

The point is, Bellamy is returning. Cahill was an option, but KK has gone for Coates instead

Still cannot see it happening. Bookies don't sign players.

23 Aug 2011 15:15:09
bensmith_Times Ben Smith

@RhysLFC1495 Nacional have accepted #LFC's offer, so yes.

But equally they could accept Man City's offer as well, and then it'd be in Coates own court as to who he went for and who offered him the preferable deal

Dawkins

Man City are not in the chase - they opted for Stefan Savic instead

These transfers will take place this week 100%

Scott Dann 8m
Craig Bellamy (Loan)
Joe Cole Spurs (loan)
Aqualani A.C Milan ( undisclosed)

Gary Cahill is going to arsenal (always was)

Ngog, Degen and insua will probably go, but not 100% guaranteed.

Sebastain coates is a possibility, but untill more comes out of the Club regarding interest in him, then it's just pure speculation.
Benayoun is not comming.

I wish you people who pretend to know what they are talking about would sign your posts. Unsigned posts are always lies.

100% pure speculative post!
kidmillions

Ergo your reply that the first post was a lie because it was unsigned must mean that your post was a lie. So does that mean the first post was true? Im confused.
Another Macca.

Wow well done, you have rounded up all the current rumours and put them in your post.

I'm glad Benayoun isn't Cumming.

So Coates is only a possibility until more info comes out from the club yet the others are 100% despite no info coming from the club?

Makes sense to me.....

I think you are out of order "Another Macca". The unsigned post you made your remark about did not make any claims about transfers etc so could not tell any lies. I do agree that unsigned posts are a pain though .It is a pity they are allowed.

hey guys, ok im not suggesting that liverpool have enquired or looked at hazzard however hazzard has made it clear he wont be moving to the emirates, he'd be a sensation at anfield with carroll nd suarez!

Trust me he's coming!

'hazzard has made it clear he wont be moving to the emirates' - if you read the qutoes he says nothing about the Emirates / Arsenal / any specific club. Stop being suckered in by headlines and read the quotes!!

Would love hazard quality player {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

KK wants to signe Diego Forlan!!!
I know this because i over heard DC speaking to someone on his mobile on saturday.
And with us going in for Cotes today it makes sense he wants a trio of Uraguyans who have that fighting spirit that Suarez has. Watch out for Forlan interest in the next few days.

Mark B

Forlan played for United before you know?
Don't talk gibberish.

This forlan rumour is complete bull, u do know he is a die hard united fan?

Yeh and Owen played for Liverpool. That is an irrelevant statement. I thought it would be unlikely, but with the Bellamy and Benayoun rumours anything could be possible.

What colour's the sky in your world,son?
ANFIELDPETE

If we can afford Bellamy at 95k, surely Forlan is a possibility no?

23 Aug 2011 14:28:57
hi ed's wonder if you could clarify this for me,macca say's that bellamy is possible who is a forward and then goes on to say we will wait until jan possibly to sign one does he mean bellamy in jan or bellamy now and another in january.
cheers
aintree dave. {Ed002's Note - I really don't know Dave, perhaps he means if Bellamy does not arrive then perhaps the situation will be reviewed in January.}

23 Aug 2011 14:16:38
further to Macca breaking the news - just been informed that Coates dad (agent) is meeting with Liverpool reps today / tomorow to discuss further and hopefully finalise the deal. Further details as i receive

23 Aug 2011 13:19:43
Hi eds or Macca, have there been any info whether our management accepted Milan's offer for Aquilani? and Why are we keen on getting Bellamy again?? are the Coates' news legit? i thought we're targeting premiership players this summer?

{Ed006's Note - I am trying to find out if we have bid for Coates. The interest seems very real. Bellamy and Benayoun are both targets for squad players. I think we are keen on bringing these players back because they offer different options upfront.}

23 Aug 2011 14:21:41
Now that Nasri is going to man city, it is looking more likely that Bellamy will be signing for us. Great news.

Joking!!!!Great news???Horrible news if that is true.Waste of money!!!!

What now that city have signed a midfielder, it is more likely that a striker is leaving the club...good one!

What now that city have signed a midfielder, it is more likely that a striker is leaving the club...good one!

Ill be shocked if we get any player from city!

Why is that good he is rubbish!

Are you guys for real??? Bellamy would be a great addition to our squad.

- He wouldn't expect to start every game
- Won't break the bank
- Has prem experience, proven goalscorer
- Bags of pace, can play in a few attacking positions and offers different options
- Would do a great job for a season or two until a couple of our young prospects make the step up

Blondie

He is twice as good as n gog that's for sure

I'd rather have Adam Johnson, whom I think will get dropped to make room for Nasri. So he could be available too. Bellamy has been available for 12 months, so his availability now is nothing to do with Nasri.

23 Aug 2011 14:09:07
In Uruguay, on Radio's and News channel's they are reporting that the fee has been agreed for Coates and he will travel to England now to finish the personal's and complete a medical

Has anybody else seen the absolute tripe on LFC official wesite about Aqua leaving. Some of the comments in the transfer area really are a disgrace. This lad is nothing more than a mercenary, wants to get back to Italy asap - hence why his agent was in the paper every other day flapping about some club or another in Italy - do you really think he wasnt instructed to do this? It just really gets to me the way some fans are questioning KK about players coming/going - slating the likes of Carroll/Hendo and praising this tart like he is god,he playesd well against a few pub teams in the far east !!

Sorry rant over,
RedDub47

Well said.

RuncornRed

Totally agree mate!!! Aqualani is an absolute disgrace of a player and person!! He has used Liverpool to get as much money as he can without making any effort to make things worse....I am glad he is leaving and hope the club gets rid of the other mercenaries asap.

Killerpool

Agree with RedDub47 some fans are just silly in thinking he wants to stay when it is obvious he only cares about 1stly money 2nd going back to Italy

I totally agree RedDub47 mate, well said.

Blair Mayne YNWA

I don't get your rant =p, it's obvious he wants a return to Italian football because most Italians are not that comfortable in playing in foreign leagues.
His agent obviously wants to help the player out. anyway, he never really wanted a move out from Roma back than, they were the one asking him to accept the deal because the club needed money.
Not defending on Aquaman but the guy obviously never really keen in playing abroad, he just wants to come home.

In support of your point RedDub, Carroll had a pretty good goal scoring record in the pre season did he not? Yet who, in a defense of Carroll's form since joining the Reds, would EVER say that? You'd be called crazy, told that those goals don't count etc. etc. But when it comes to Aquilaini, why, he was GREAT in pre season, our best player, so creative, such movement, why are we letting him go? Etc. Etc.

Make sense of that.

The Kaiser

Well said dub mate.

Nail....Head.......Hit...........Corrrrrrrrect!

Couldnt of said it better myself, aquaman is a waste of space and i dont know why people cant see this. Back off Andy Carrol and Hendo people they will come good YNWA

Bang on!

The funniest moment in this entire Aquilani thing and should he stay or go was when some guy said on this site that he is Italy's answer to Andres Iniesta. I would love to have seen what Iniesta would have done to that Malaysia X1!

Agree completely, mate. Why do some people put down players who want to be here, (Carroll, Henderson), moan about missing out on players who chose not to be here, (Jones), and want to keep players who don't want to be here, (Aquilani)? It makes no sense at all!

-Red Socks

Aquilani has full right to blast LFC for the way we treated him, Roy Hodgson is the main culprit here, there is no f**king point in buying a player and sending him out on loan coz he came injured. If thats the case, Gerrard and Agger would be spread out to clubs as we know how injury prone they can be!!!!. Carroll needs to be slated, how is it that Aguero who cost only a few 6-7M more than Carroll come on and score 2 and set up 1 in his first match while our man hasnt even created a chance let alone score. Mind you Carroll hasnt moved from the country at all i.e. Newcastle to LFC, Aguero naturally has to adapt to the English way since Spanish league is different. You fans say lets judge at the end of the season, yes lets do that when the likes of Chelsea and City are wisely purchasing players who deliver from the offset, the only players worth mentioning in that sense so far are Downing and Suarez as we know... {Ed001's Note - what are you talking about? Hodgson didn't even buy Aquilani, nor did he loan him out because he was injured. Clearly you have no idea what you are talking about, you are certainly talking complete nonsense.}

I absolutely agree with you. Why are people supporting a player that doesn't want to play for the club and even fakes injuries and illness so he doesn't have to train but yet you get young players with huge potential that really want to make a name for themselves at this great club only get nothing but grief and abuse! I really worry about some supporters, you can even see the difference in atmosphere at Anfield now. If someone does something slightly wrong a minority of people jump on their backs, support them and get them back on their feet!

Big Pappa Pump ST

Sick of people referring to Aquilani as 'Aquaman', what has ever done for LFC to be given this superhero like name?

-Shar-

Rant approved.

BooDaBooze

Spot on. To the lad barking on about the little cherob wanting a little trip back to Italy and having a little help from his fluffy agent. Well if he wants the move that bad why didn't the gready git swallow the wage drop and clear off back to mama mia. To add insult to injury I believe Liverpool are having to compensate the greasy git to the tune of £1million euro in order to off set the terrible pain he would've endured climatising to his derisory new wages.

'O' Stafford.

Exactly !

Prodigy nick

Agree with OP and his supporters. Good player but he has taken LFC for a ride. Sooner gone the better.Kenny was very fair to him.
CR

To be fair I've never known exactly what Aquaman's super power was, so I think the nick name is fitting as I don't know what Aquilaini does.

Well said Dub and I couldn't have better than the man 'O' Stafford. You beat me to it!

El vice presidente de Nacional acaba de decir en @sport890 que seguramente Coates se vaya al Liverpool FC

Basically Nacional Vice president says Coates "will" join LFC.

Matt Wollacott

Yap , coates coming

out : deggen, ngog , greek(gone) , cole ,poulsen , spearing ( loan ),skyrtel

in :Coates , dann
Barton , hoaraua , bellamy

cheers
gogo

If the above list of outs is right (and it has to be in the right ballpark), then our lack of real cover for lucas (other than stevie g) is apparent. On that basis, although he's not really the same type of player I would have that Spearing would stay, but neither Hendo or Merieles really offer protection for the back four in the way that lucas does, and Adam is better off playing along side tthis player rather than instead of (Vaughan often fulfilled this role at Blackpool). The alternative is Poulsen and that doesnt really bear thinking about

Jose Mourinho set to quit Real Madrid.
vrcomp

Good, as he's a disgrace to Real Madrid and Spanish football, but what does this have to do with us??

maka

He's going to replace Wenger and Wenger is going to Real.

He's going to replace Wenger and Wenger is going to Real.

Well i think his being lined up for Arsenal when Wenger gets the chop soon.

So what!

Thank god we're over the period where people wanted a "super-coach" instead of our precious hero kenny.
will he coach wrestlers now?

Who gives a s**t about him????. His dirty tactics are a disgrace to Soccer, if i was FIFA chairman i would ban all of Mourinho's family from ever taking part in the sport!!!...

I'd start by banning Mourinho before banning his family!

That's funny since SSN have just reported that Mourinho has posted on the RM website he's going nowhere! {Ed002's Note - Ancelotti will be the next Real Madrid manager.}

And...... who gives a sh*t. wudnt want him any were near anfield.

Mourinho can't win jack without hundreds of millions of investment from Chelsea, Inter and Real.
Raffa with his best 11 available always tactically beat Mourinho and only didn't win the Premiership through depth of squad, and messed around by Gillette and Hicks.

Mourinho is sneaky, pals up with everyone like raffa, and then back stabs them when he loses, and loves being a loud mouth centre of attention.

Hello, just thought I'd add to the myriad of Coates posts. Edward Pinon, Uruguayan journalist, was asked (on Twitter): se puede esperar que se vaya a LFC? [translate: can [Coates] be expected to go to LFC?]
reply: sí. La oferta está. Si hoy no la supera la del City se va a Liverpool. Zaguero espectacular. [translates as something along the lines of: yes. If City do not exceed Liverpool's bid today, he is going to Liverpool. Spectacular defender.]

i know this going to sound samey, but what about a.johnson. He needs to find a new club now. Arsenal should have got him in part ex, however liverpool should get in there now! Rather him than bellamy to be honest!!

Yes agree.Could'nt understand why we didnt put £7m down for him,when Boro were looking to get rid.Oh yes that's why The Dallas Cowboys were in charge!He would do an exellent job down the right/left for us.Fits the current regime's policy down to a tee.

Sign him up!

I think we should play Carroll tomoz against exeter city theres nothing better than getting off mark scoring and think he have gd chance get 1 or 2 goals maybe play him half game or bit less get confidence up.

Steersy

Last 15 mins.

Completely agree, not for the whole match but a decent part of the match will supply him with enough time to get goals and to boost his confidence!

I'd rather not risk him in a nothing match. A cameo at the end perhaps. Exeter aren't that bad at the back though they've had a poor start to the season, and with Troy at CB they are ok in the air. I'd like to see N'Gog showing his ability to Bolton... or Eccleston. I hope Coady gets some game time off the bench as well. I think the Grecians may surprise a lot of people with their resiliance though.

In that case, might aswell put a full squad on for 45mins. Get all of their confidence up (or down if it didn't go to plan). Unfortunately it doesn't work like that, especially for the prelimanary rounds of the league cup. If it was up to mist fans, I believe a full squad would be used initially to secure the win... But I guess that's why we are not in charge...

Myk

What if he doesn't score against Exeter and has a bad Game.
Give Carroll a rest and gear him up for the Bolton game.

Nasri, is all but signed for city now, will this pave the way for A.Johnson to move to Liverpool? Would love to see him in a Liverpool shirt.

I think in theory Adam Johnson is the perfect player we are looking for. Young, English, proven prem player. If he is going to be 4th choice at City then I really think we should try and get him.

I'd hate to see him go somewhere like Spurs or Arsenal and then amaze us when he plays week in week out...

LFC neeeeeeeed him.. look at what Ashley Young is doing at the Mancs... we need someone with pace

LFC neeeeeeeed him.. look at what Ashley Young is doing at the Mancs... we need someone with pace

I agree but has there been any indication of genuine interest? It would give us another option particulalry if and when Downing is injured/rested as we dont really have another player who can play like he does. Maxi's fine but he's a very different player. Hopefully he'll play against Exeter and continue his form from last season. If Joe Cole doesnt get a look in that would suggest to me that he's a cert to go. I'm aware of the QPR rumours but I'm not entirely convinced, I'm no sure whether QPR could really afford Joe;s wages and to do so may also create unrest with the charmingly mellow Adel Taraabt.

Dawkins

Agreed.

i dont know much any thing about this coates other than he is 20 years old, 6 ft 5 and won best youngest at the copa america which i hope means he will come good if we sign him. but after watching last nights game manu vs spurs i really wished we had signed phil jones, he really looks the deal and its a big loss that we missed out on him.

Ash T

Agreed although we did try to sign him. Coates will be a great signing and would love Adam Johnson to join him!!!

Surely if he is the best defender in the Copa America, he is already "GOOD" so why did you put, will "come good". It does not really make any sense tbh

123... UNO

He picked to sign for the mancs. We even made i higher bid for him.

Coates is much much MUCH better!!

Wot so jones had a half decent game agenst passed it striker in defoe come on lad we will c how he gets on wen we play him or the other big teams

The only other Liverpool signing this transfer window will be Dann, we will then look at a high profile striker next year when back in CL

ive been told this morning from a very credible source that we have signed sebastian coates,Its 100% done subject to a medical and the usual rubber stamping.
Macca was bang on the money yesterday,a day even before my own mate (who does have very reliable contacts)

Wat source u got that from then brown sauce lol

How has He signed, no talks have taken place yet. Man City,Chelsea and a host of other clubs are interested. However no one has made a yet. Any it's all just speculation.
Cahill will be our last signing 100% guaranteed. Frpm a very good source indeed. Bye for now

I hope your spot on with this

Yep, being reported from Nacionals V.Pres that Coates is a done deal.

Liverpool to turn attentions to Emmanuel Adebayor rather than Bellamy. He is also available for peanuts as they want him off the wage bill. Liverpool would only be willing to offer £80,000pw (half his current salary he gets from City.) At 27 years of age he has a good resale value.
Pip Hoffman

I hope he doesn't come...he has a massive ego and a crap work ethic

£80k a week peanuts? This guy is a real bad egg, rocks the boat everywhere he goes. Not really what were looking for is it?
kidmillions

Agree with,cant see

Not in a million years.

The real reason why everyone has shied away from Adebayor is because he is a disruptive influence in the dressing-room. Money is his sole motivation and while he is undoubtedly talented, he is completely mercenary. Also at 27 years old it is hard to see where the re-sale value would be in relation to what he would cost. He definitely would not have a GOOD re-sale value.

He'd be a very good (Possibly quality) addition to the squad.

But I don't think we're even interested, nor do I think he'd join us and accept a 50% wage cut...Unless City pay a sum of it as well!

Isn't that what spurs were after too? Yet it seems they've pulled out...maybe City aren't willing to pay any of his wages, hence the purpose of wanting him off the bill.

Just my 2 cents.

I'll be content with a striker who'll just bag us a few (10-15) goals as a Back-up.

Chipkin9 (Eire)

I would not want him at liverpool if he was fried in honey. Bad attitude. KD would not even give it a thought

Resale value - as citeh have found out they cant give him away

bigg2966

Far better than what we have at the moment, I'd take him, he's just back up and would be good coming off the bench.

Wouldn't want him! Full stop!

Not interested in what the newspaper say at the moment because its coming from the Daily Mail and Mirror. But know The Guardian have insisted that Liverpool are close to signing Sebastian Coates im starting to believe it. The link is below;

www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/aug/23/liverpool-craig-bellamy-shock-return

Wheeler92

You have a strange faith in the Guardian

And also says we are willing to pay Bellamy's 95,000 a week wages! Would be delighted with Coates, he kept Godin out of the Uruguay team for the Copa.

23 Aug 2011 12:15:21
I posted a couple of days ago about the Cahill/Ngog will it/wont it happen deal. As I mentioned Liverpool are not rushing on this and it could go to the end of the window - though Ngog leaving in a single deal is more likely. Last I'm hearing is that Coates is an option but City will have the last say on whether we get him or not - his father is very keen on listening to City so don't be fooled by these rumours that he wants to link up with Suarez. Liverpool are committed to getting a new CB by the end of the window but will leave off until January if priced out of the market - this was the position they had hoped to cover for earlier in the window. The smoke and mirrors games between City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool means theres a good chance that Liverpool will get neither Cahill or Coates. Expect another name to come to the forefront if City jump in for Coates, as Chelsea still have an eye on Cahill.

I can not see liverpool getting priced out of any market for any player i think we have showed this already we are willing to pay high prices plus we have more money for wages and we are selling so there are still lot funds .

Not everyone is a mercenary and wants to play for citeh. Apart from being a great footballer Louis Suarez comes across as an intelligent lad and will advise his compatriot to join the best clubside in LFC. "It's a done deal!"

You would be surprised. The reason Liverpool got in to the mess of a huge wage bill was years of paying high wages for high wages sake to beat the competition which became a bit of a nasty habit. The Eds can confirm this but each new signing (the price + the total cost in wages over the length of the contract) is equated and they set maximum figures they will go to for each player.

Eds...don't shoot the messenger but I have heard this from an excellent source - We have looked at this guy during the Copa and are planning to swoop in for Alberto Junior Rodríguez, the Peruvian CD currently at Sporting Club Lisbon -0 available for £5m plus add ons.

Publish this and be the first ones to make it public..olé

Exiled Scouser

He only signed for Sporting in May so this sounds very unlikely.

That's true...but Soto signed one too.and he left...The lad wants premiership football - good source believe me....

Exiled scouser

What a load of cobblers! He signed for Sporting at the end of last season - why would he just up-and-leave??

Ed please post this because this has to do with rumours,
Remember a page in facebook everyone trusted a few months back called "Fields of Anfield Road"
Just wanted point out that we havn't signed Ashley Young,Scott Parker who according to that page we have even agreed personal terms, nor Mata or Aguero who they claimed we have agreed deals for, Just wanted to make that point as to don't trust such people or pages if they appear in the future
inside_red

In fairness the ashley young thing did have some legs to it. Apparantley Comolli had told players and staff about him signing. I have no idea what happend or even if it was true but comolli definatley said it.

B&st&rds they are, sc*m, - you can't play with people's feelings like that!
That's why I respect sources like Macca, cause they always make you aware that things are not set in stone and may "fluctuate" due to the "insecure" nature of transfer processes.
rhi

Had a few more too mate Rodwell etc etc, and they promised Mata was a lfc player and what made me more mad is that they have consistently abused Pepe when the rumours of him going to Arsenal were there

Players in :Cahil and Lavezzi, every one else is just a smokescreen... Trust my words.

Brian

Source please Brian.

Me thinks you're not the messiah, but a naughty boy!

;)

He's not the messiah. He's a very naughty boy....

Are you like 12 years old?

Brian poppet, I would love to trust you're words but they are just too good to be true.

The word smokescreen gets bandied around rather a lot here, but that's not the way LFC operate. The interest in Cahill wasn't exactly under the radar, despite the lack of news from Anfield... in much the same way we went after Adam and Downing. Lavezzi is highly unlikely to come to the club, and this smacks of wishful thinking.

Cahil 12.75m + Ngog
Lavezzi £16+Insua and Poulsen + addons rising to £21.5m

Brian

In my eyes would cavani be a better buy than lavezzi and coates better than cahill, imagine corner kick carroll coates and cavani jumping for headers we would dominate and on the flipside suarez would have two of his country man.

There is no such thing as a smoke screen. The people involved in all these deals do not waste their time with SMOKE SCRREENS. You are either interested or not. Reputations would be ruined and future dealings would be nigh on impossible if you conducted business(any business) in such manner.

Well there you go, another day in the life of bwian.

Do dreams come true?

Haha brian fair play to you pal, your'e some joker i love this smokescreen crapi can see it now kk and dc chatting about smokescreens do you think they wste their time with smokescreens cahill will not come and neither will lavezi wakey wakey brian.
DCG

People who believe in smokescreens and player swaps also be lieve in fairies.
Fox

No Brian no. Liverpool will only buy 1 more player and that will be a CB. Not sure who. Most likely Coates.

OM Red

Well that's that then. No more checking the internet for rumours. Ed's any chance of a Brian page on the site.

redsoldier

Ah another smokescreen, i'm amazed anyone can see anything with all this smoke around

Andy C

Are you serious, Brian? "Trust my words"??? Are you a Messiah?
Then sign your post "The Life of Brian" in this case.
RHI

Consider the Lillies.

Brian if you are wrong will you stop putting up this type of fertilizer from now on...?

Guys stop pulling his leg its can be happen. Lavezzi like Liverpool as there is a huge Rumers in Rafa time that we are enquary about him and Lavezzi even say in public that he like to play for Liverpool.

@BrianDurand56 Brian Durand

So LFC offered £7m for Coates, accepted by Nacional. Now that Man City are also interested Coates' father Peter is checking out both bids

LFC Pedro {Ed002's Note - Manchester City's interest in Coates goes back to the beginning of the summer. There remains interest from elsewhere as well.}

Without a doubt he will go to man city as once his father or him gets a whiff of that money they won't be able to turn it down

Do you think saurez may help with his decision? Like Torres did with mata to Chelsea? Dlb

^

It would be nice to think that won't happen, not everyone goes for the money. I think Suarez being here and our large South American and Spanish contingent should also be a big pull.

TSP

The Guardian seem to think the Suarez factor could swing it in our favour... I hope they're right.

RedSG

He'll probably play more often at Liverpool, and that, along with Suarez, will hopefully be enough to bring him our way. Savic was not brought in that long ago, and he has to look at the City squad and wonder how much game time he'll get.

Aje

Yeh, Suarez found some ladders and had a word in his ear (no biting of course)

City seem to buy players just to stop the opposition from getting them, not because they need them.

Peter Coates? Seriously? Wasnt he the Man City Chairman for 20 odd years? Is someone pulling a fast one somewhere here?

Red G

I have the feeling that Man s**tty want him to be in their proposed future CB pairing ie they want Savic and Coates to replace Kompany and Toure as Richards will have made RB position for himself. However as people have said, Suarez is enough to persuade him here and i cant think of ANY uruguayan player who was lured to a club coz of money!!!!..

Thinks me we need to make hay while the Sun shines - sign some best players from Uruguay while Suarez is here. Lodeiro would be my next after Coates.
rhi

Replace Kompany...? He's the captain and only out of nappies son, catch a grip!

He will join Liverpool as most of the south American look for friend when they abord in new club. and we have Coats best mate Suarez here.

Let's not get carried away.Every young player that is mentioned everyone seems to think their the next best thing. A few good matches ahd he's a world beater, Remember Phil Babb looked great playing alongside Paul McGrath playing for Ireland

ok I like everyone else on here is a big fan of macca however cant understand the logic in his last comments. Aquilani to go on loan? didnt he stop the fiorentina deal to make a permanent one? Godin has no premier league experience and given his age and the the fact hes outside europe seems like an unlikely choice. Finally Bellamy??? are you kidding a 32year old on extremely high wages and went on loan to a championship club! give me a break doesnt fit with FSG policy and i think he would be a terrible signing! anyone else agree (no need for abuse just my opinion) {Ed002's Note - As I explained at the time the real reason the deal with Fiorentina was cut related to the salary package. His preference would of course be for a permanent move, but the money is critical. Liverpool had struck a deal with Fiorentina that would have suited both clubs. The deal proposed yesterday (as explained here over the weekend) will see him move permanently to Milan with Liverpool paying the player 1M euro from the fee to ease the pain he will suffer in a drop of wages. It is possible it could still end up as a loan, but that is not what we think has been agreed.}

It's ridiculous that chap gets paid to go! He signs a contract with great wages and then HE wants to leave and we have to pay him? Should he be the one losing money for not fulfilling his contract when we could use him? What a f'n joke!

Erm... macca only passes information that comes to him...he's not making the signings, the board does. SingRed

Firstly Godin is top class and defending in England is the same as defending in Spain your still stopping the player from scoring ask Enrique he aint bad, then theres Bellamy a good player who would be a perfect 4th choice striker and fill a hole until we see how Carroll is doing and a younger striker can be found, also he has a very good cross and could play out on wing so try not be so negative

Check his follow up post - He meant Coates not Godin.

Bellamy's wages makes me doubt he'll be coming back to Anfield, but stranger things have happened. He offers something a bit different to the options we have up front at present. If it's a free transfer, I guess it 'could' happen. Benayoun is another strange one, though he is a player that can make a big impact off the bench. I would not be sorry to see both come back, but I still won't really believe it until it happens.

Coates is a different matter. I'd like to see him arrive, he is a superb prospect.

Aje

Sorry meant coates

Macca get the occasional great call but most of the time - like most rumours throughout ALL media - the rumours are no more than nonsense...BUT (as someone already indicated) we shouldn't shoot the messenger...unless he turns out to be the king, in which case we should tie him to four strong stallions and then set them off while we enjoy the site as they gallop away in four different directions! lol ;)

Thank god someone else thinks bellamy is a terrible signing if it happens

Sorry but didnt craig play for cardiff for freeee?

Remember david speedie

Regarding the Aquilani deal even if Milan took him on loan they will get an obligation to buy clause in 2012(similar with their deal on Ibrahimovic). While Fio most likely offered the same deal Juventus made, which wasn't convincing enough. Moreover, I believe Aquaman changed his mind regarding Fiorentina because Milan were calling, seriously it's a no brainer in which clubs you would be picking.
Milan is A Serie A champion, which provides, Champions League football, tons of exciting facilities, of course the wages packages also but I believe it's not a tough decision in picking which ones out of the two considering he will be as much as needed in both clubs

Morning ed, you have prob answered this q's before but with all this rumoured interest in Coates, does that mean all interest in Cahill and or Dann is over?? And if Coates was to come in, what sort of fee are we looking to pay?? Great site guys, keep up the good work...
South west red {Ed002's Note - I imagine the club will keep their options open. I suspect that the fee would be around the £10M mark.}

It has emerged that now he is surplus to requirements due to the young players now ready for the first team,Owen will be the old face coming back,rumors are rife in Manchester with this

Don't want him, don't need him, can't have him. SingRed

Unlikely... Owen only signed a contract extension a couple of months ago. Highly doubt Utd would be willing to let him come to us regardless.

This my friend is pure bull, why would fsg go against their policy of signing talented youth to by an ageing and potential crooked traitor, keep ya dross to yourself pal. I know it's a rumours site but seriously. . . .

Once a Manx never a Red

Owen is off to either Southampton or Blackpool guys.Trust me on this one.

Horrible cheese of a post. Do people that post silly stuff like this really believe it o are they just messing around?

Owen is off to either Southampton or Blackpool guys.Trust me on this one.

That boy showed his true colours when he left us for 'greater things'
He's not for coming back and certainly wouldn't be a great choice anyway based upon his age and continued fitness issues.
nugett

Just as unlikely as Bellamy.
CR

Manx? he plays for the mancs, not the isle of man!

I work a lot in Manchester and to suggest "rumours are rife" is absolute BS!!
Michael Owen can offer nothing to our great club and would not be welcome back in any capacity. We are getting rid of the sicknotes not recruiting them!!

Apparently its been confirmed Inter have definitly made an offer for Kuyt, heard anything on this Ed? {Ed002's Note - No. It seems that one story is a year old. If anything they may have approached his agent. I am certain that no offer has been made.}

Dirk's agent has confirmed that he's received an approach {Ed002's Note - Well, that story could be a year old, or a general enquiry. But in either case it does not constitute an offer.}

I belive liverpool have receved two offers for kuyt and anythink over 12mil would only be exectable i think even tho he is 31 he still has 4 years left in the tank

23 Aug 2011 07:43:24
Everyone getting carried away with bellamy. But just stop and think for a second a guy on 100k a week and at over 30 is that really fit with are transfer policy?
Not saying it won't just think it's wishful thinking.

Likely to be released on a free with a cash pay off the we'd be able to negotiate a lower wage.

I do not believe Bellamy will happen.
CR

I'm surprised by how many liverpool fans actually want Bellamy. For me he has pace, yes but for 1 on 1 with the keeper he's likely to miss 50%, he doesn't pass when he should do, and has an ego we do not need

What transfer policy? it was meant to be buy players who are young and have a re-sale value higher than the purchase, but does that make sense with the downing purchase? no it doesn't so this transfer policy thing is rubbish!

23 Aug 2011 07:54:44
Coates an Bellamy rumours all over the place now,to all the people who unecessarily slagged off Macca hang your head in shame you plantpots,we mightn't get them but it shows Macca is in the know,keep them rumours coming la we appreciate you bless ya loads Liam

So if macca told you to jump off a cliff you would? Look at his past record mate........its as good as anyone else.

The point is the lad has been vitriorically abused and slagged off by so called LFC fans,it makes me sick ,all the lad is doing is throwing it out there like he did yesterday,seems as tho he is spot on,you cant deny that,and grow up with your kiddy analogies bless ya Ed Liam

Dunno why folk get so worked up about sh*t? If I read a Macca rumour, yeah I'll probably take note more than the others. But if it doesn't work out, then so be it, as he says 'things change' Leave the chap alone, this would be duller without him.

dd

Theres nothing kiddish about what i said,just seems that most of you follow blindly what he says and yet i have read other posts about the same players days before this "macca" posts them and yet they all get ridiculed.

To be fair, the rumours are probably everywhere because they came from here! Doesnt vindicate Macca as being correct at all, but I for have faith in the Macster

How can anyone seriously believe that KK is interested in either Bellamy or Benayoun. Both were bit part players when they were here, and Maxi and Cole offer more than these two, and are younger.

23 Aug 2011 02:20:40
twitter going absolutely nuts with bellamy and coates rumours. its so funny. people start tweeting then all of a sudden all these news reports start surfacing. lol

The only way i see bellamy coming in is if ngog goes to bolton and we dont want to spend 10 mill on a backup striker.
JJ blackpool

It will more likely be a free if he comes

lfcjohnynwa

Bellamy should cost around 5-6m to make it worthwhile. Don't forget Bellamy can play a range of positions from midfield to attack, he has pace and can cross a ball well. He is currently not playing at all, so a move to us could interest him. I know he has to maintain a decent salary as a large percentage of his wages fund his school he setup to help under privileged kids in sierra leone.

23 Aug 2011 01:10:13
Oliver kay just said on Twitter that Liverpool have made a bid for sebastien coates.

The Times are reporting that we have made a 10 mil bid for Coates. Smithy

ed how much do u think the fee for kyrgiakos is {Ed002's Note - Either free or a trivial amount.}

I heard we recieved 1.5 million, but the liverpool site doesnt say anything about a fee so im not so sure {Ed001's Note - it was a free.}
