Is there any interest in Julian Draxler from Schalke? I heard we've had him watched numerous times last season {Ed002's Note - Not from Liverpool. There have been offers and enquiries for Draxler. Both Milan clubs, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Chelsea have enquired at one level or another about Draxler - each has met a "not for sale" barrier. I don't expect a move this summer.}

What is people oppionion on another chelsea leftover Gael Kakuta? ed do you think he is on the list of our targets? this is my first post. you've been excellent in your replies. Thanks, Y.N.W.A {Ed001's Note - I don't know of any interest from us. Unless he has made massive strides, I doubt he would be good enough to be honest.}

Won't improve the squad.

Hi eds just wanted to shoot some transfer questions at yas!

1st one on my mind is: Have Liverpool shown any interest in Adem Ljajic? I know Athletico and Milan were interested and I'm aware he'd only cost around 12m. I watched a few Viola matches last year and he happened to catch my eye more so than Jovetic did. He's capable of playing on the left or up the middle and he's within our price range.

Secondly, with Chelseas squad looking way too deep and with Willian likely to join. Is there any possibility LFC could look to bring in Lukaku or De Bruyne on loan? Would be a great move to take either of them on loan for a year IMO.

Also, I think it's obvious we will be bringing in a CB. Question is who will we go after? Seems we have to pick from Mamadou Sakho (My first choice and a bargain for 10m), Thiago Ilori, and Toby Alderwiereld. I think if the manager feels Skrtel has no future at the club we should sell him for 10-12m and quickly replace him with Sakho. And now that Coates has picked up a lengthy injury we should then sign Ilori to replace him. I think a lot of these scenarios make sense for the club. Sorry for the essay. Just feeling a bit anxious with only a little over a week left in the window.

Keep the faith. YNWA {Ed002's Note - (a) A move to Milan for Ljajic has failed to be completed whilst Torino and Atletico Madrid still want the player - but I would suspect something could still happen with Milan. If not a new contract will be signed with Fiorentina - which is what the club wants. (b) I wouldn't think there is any chance at all. If Willian joins it will be at the expense of Victor Moses. (c) People are likely getting well ahead of themselves with Sakho. I have explained the situation - and price wise you are miles away from what PSG have asked Napoli to pay. The club rejected Napoli's offer and they have now moved on to look at alternatives to Skrtel.}

I understand that a bid has been made for Turan, the offer is approximately €19 million and I am unsure of the club.

I believe it is Arsenal but heard Liverpool may start to pursue him in the coming days.

Anticipation is the bid will be rejected.

Believable22 Unbelievable27

Its well below the confirmed deal price, so it must be us.

Again, like the others watch this one slip away.

Agree3 Disagree1

I hope so but if it is Liverpool what's the point in bidding that much when its clear 24million is the golden figure

Agree2 Disagree0

How do you know we want him? Maybe he is not to BR's taste.Not convinced about him myself but to be fair I have not seen much of him.
CR

Agree1 Disagree0

I hope its us that have reportedly bid for Turan as he is what we need and would jump at the chance to join us all we have to do is pay the 24M euro which is £20.5M GBP rather than try and negotiate the fee where we may well end up loosing him just like we have done recently on players.

Agree3 Disagree0

Well losing Willian to Spurs as many posters ranted was a disgrace. We should have just paid up. But now I hear Will-ian is Will-I-isn't and he's opted for Chelski. You don't HAVE to weigh in right away with the so called "buy out" price. If a player has a 25 million buy out clause maybe the team will sell him for say 22 million. Anyway we don't even know if Liverpool have bid for him or are even interested in him as yet.

Fingers crossed. Would love it if he joins

Agree0 Disagree1

Liverpool will not be bidding for Arda Turan .
I have had discussions with people who have suggested we might if we sell luis . this is not the case if luis is sold (which if Madrid make a suitable offer he will be despite statements from the club ) a out and out striker will be the target . Papa is off due to injury . personally i'm not convinced we need a new CB with Agger, Skertel, Kolo and kelly all able to play there .
For me its is clear based on who we have missed out on our top target is a versatile creative mid and a good back up CB . which brings us back to the old Erickson, Alderwiel (speeling) deal I definitely wasn't our top choice but I think it is our best option now and would be very surprised if we didn't at least peruse .

Agree1 Disagree0

I understand that this is how our scouting team and Rodgers assessed signings.

Mk was our main target, he was perfect for what Rodgers system required; a goal threat, ability to play as a deeper midfielder and potentially out wide. He was also willing to join and Liverpool wanted to get him but didn't value him as much as Dortmund.

After this I understand us to have identified Diego Costa or Arda Turan as targets for out wide, behind the striker or up front.

However Willian surprisingly became available and it was an opportunity Liverpool didn't want to pass up. Unfortunately other clubs were more willing to spend more money on him.

I understand that after Mk and Costa not coming Turan is our main attacking option for the rest of the window. That's why if the offer I mentioned above wasn't Liverpool they will likely make a move.

Never said I have privy sources, just what I understand which was compiled from a vast number of sources; varying from real people, reports and a few other twitter sources which back up the reports that I have got.

Hey eds, You guys have made it quite clear that at the moment, the club is looking for a new centre back. Do you think that this would be someone slightly inexperienced and young, perhaps like Ilori, or do you think we are looking for a more experienced top quality centre back like Sakho.
Thanks {Ed002's Note - The situation with each is:

Sakho has been on the list of targets for many clubs over the past year or so - Monaco, Arsenal and Lyon have sustained interest in Sakho and there has been some interest from Newcastle, Inter Milan, Manchester City and even possible interest lingering interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona. Baader has explained that AC Milan and Liverpool have recently enquired about his availability - but at that time PSG were not keen on selling and the player was then keen to stay. However, Laurent Blanc remains concerned about his attitude and would be willing to let him move on - that could be facilitated after the departure of Leonardo who had been lending him support. Would be an excellent buy for Liverpool if Agger or Skrtel were to move on, and not out of the question - but no offer has been made by the club whilst AC Milan are actively pushing for a deal. Napoli are also considering Sakho as an alternative to Alderweireld but have been put off by the asking price - they might still seek a loan.

Liverpool's interest in Ilori remains but Sporting has given a price that Liverpool has so far been unwilling to meet. They are talking to other clubs about the player as well. If they want a younger player then perhaps they should look at Sporting's Eric Dier who Chelsea are stalling over a deal for. He is cheaper and much is expected of him in the future.}

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Completely agree about Dier ed. Really like that lad, plays equally well at defensive midfield as well for me.

Agree1 Disagree0

Or rather go one step further and get the Brazilian CB Doria. {Ed002's Note - There has been significant interest in Doria but none from Liverpool.}

Hi all! Question for you Ed02.
The other day a poster had asked whether the team's pursuit of Willian was directly linked to Suarez's future. You replied that it wasn't.
This suggested to me then that Willian was looked at as an addition; the wide forward BR's always wanted, and not replacement.

Willian, as we all know, is now out of the picture. Name that's now doing the rounds is Arda Turan.
You yourself, ed, have said that it could happen that we push for Arda at 24m euros. As was Willian, this move would be independent of what happens with Suarez.

Now it's strongly emerging that Madrid are poised to move for Suarez. Logically, we would have to replace him. Now I remember you mentioning that you'd learned that Liverpool would move for Leandro Damiao should Suarez move.
Do you still believe this to be the case? How much would Internacional be looking for? Would we afford it? Would the player be interested? Basically, is it at all a viable deal?

Is there a good chance that Suarez leaves and Arda and Damiao are brought in? If not these two, who could be our options?

{Ed002's Note - The transfers not being linked does not mean Suarez would be staying. Liverpool are looking for a centre back and that is also unrelated to the future of Suarez. The key thing is to look at it from the perspective of having a squad, not just a like-for-like replacement. It is hardly emerging that Real Madrid would make a bid, you have known this for months. I don't see any chance that Arda and Damiao would both arrive. There are complexities with Damiao and it should be pointed out that Liverpool has yet to show any interest whilst two other clubs have held discussions over a deal, and Spurs might also return with an offer for him.

There are several possible scenarios I could speculate over, one of which would see Liverpool making an offer for Arda Turan (but if they look to negotiate they could lose out). Another might be to do as was suggested by a representative of Suarez and look to Damiao or indeed someone else. Another might be that two players (perhaps one on loan) arrive from Real Madrid as part of a deal for Suarez that covers Liverpool's remaining transfer needs and there would be no need for any further business.

Or there is the Rodgers approach that 10 days is not enough time for any more business to be done. We'll see.}

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Which players do you see ariving on loan, ed? You always mentioned the problem would be convincing them to come here? {Ed002's Note - I really don't want to get into naming any names right now.}

Agree0 Disagree0

IF the big IF Madrid were to offer Ozil or even Di Maria on loan with the option to buy then Jese or Morata as part of the deal with less cash I think the club would be silly to turn it down. It all depends on the player Madrid are willing to offer {Ed002's Note - You need to reset your expectations here.}

Agree0 Disagree0

That's what I mean Ed if we couldn't take a big player like that why buy/loan two youngsters who will not fill any sort of void. No top players from Madrid are going to sign and Rodgers has spat his dummy out saying there's not enough time to buy players now {Ed002's Note - What makes you think Oezil would be interested in moving to a team without European football? Real Madrid has other players they are looking to sell and loan out.}

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no chance of Ozil coming but him and Di Maria were first to come to mind. I have not paid too much attention to who Madrid are willing to sell but I don't see any of the players with the quality to replace Suarez wanting to come to us as part of a deal is what I'm trying to get at

Agree2 Disagree0

When you say the Rodgers approach being 10 days isn't enough time to get any more players in do you mean in regards to replacing Suarez or do you think we won't sign any more players in general? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - The transfer window is open for everyone else who will do good business - and a lot of it. Rodgers is the only one whining that 10 plus days is not enough. I appreciate how embarrassing this will become if a he buys a player or two.}

Agree0 Disagree0

10 days is plenty of time
Of course we could always just wait til next transfer window haha

hi eds, excellent work as usual in such a divisive time in the transfer market for supporters. My question is what, at present, is the likelihood of us signing luis muriel? Thanks {Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed, I still would not expect Muriel at Liverpool next season.}

Eds, now that Willian deal looks unlikely (and I mean due to Macca's and Rodgers statements, not the ridiculous media circus), there is talk of Damaio. Seems like a new name pops up every week as a new 'target'. I recall Tottenham having interest in Damaio previously. Is it possible he would be a target for them after Bale leaves (or do you think the summer signings were in anticipation of his departure?) {Ed002's Note - He is another long-term target of Spurs and there has been interest from a couple of other clubs as well. There are a number of complexities associated with any potential deal. So far Liverpool has not made any approach for the player.}

Hi what's the situation with krasic? He was mentioned 1-2 seasons ago {Ed002's Note - Genoa has a sustained interest but attempts to strike a preferrd deal with Bologna have ended without agreement over the wages. Fenerbahce have also had approaches from Sunderland and Young Boys.}

Will Khedira be staying at Real Madrid then Ed, now that Alonso is injured? {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid would like to sell him but the player wants to stay. The buying club were not interested at the €42M being asked.}

They're asking for 42mil for Khedria? That must be a joke.

Chelsea were the club interested in Khedira.
