I know there's been nothing much on it recently, but is there still a chance of getting Cuadrado? I heard that Fiorentina bought the rest of the ownership of him, does that make a move less likely?

Believable9 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - No. It has dragged on but I would think he will eventually (within a week) move to Barcelona as a replacement for Alves. There remains interest from elsewhere, but not LFC.}

Ah, that's quite disappointing. I'm guessing we're not currently linked with any other wingers? Is Markovic looking likely to be our starting winger alongside Sterling at this point?

Agree6 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - I have not decided on the starting line up yet.}

Interesting that Barca would replace a fullback with an attacking winger.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Cuadrado started out as a full back and plays there or as a wing back, as well as on the wing.}

Where's Alves going?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Not to Liverpool.}

After hearing what rodgers has said it looks like Lovren, Origi, Bertrand and that's it for the summer.

In all seriousness apart from Sanchez there wasnt many world class players avalible anyway.

id rather we keep some cash back then spend 40m on Benzema or 50m on vidal.

Bertrand isn't a bad player atall, I watched a couple games and he's actually very fast and a big step up in the attacking end of the field than Enrique.

Believable26 Unbelievable78

23 Jul 2014 23:42:32
where did rodgers say that and that bertrand was coming in?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - There has been further interest shown in Bertrand and there is a bid expected.}

Keep cash back? I'm surprised we've spent as much as we have. There will be a selling spree if we want to keep signing players

Agree2 Disagree0

Are we not signing Remi then or was his medical just for fun

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Jul 2014 00:39:14
Medicals can be fun times. He must of loved the trip to Boston

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed2 I keep hearing that Chelsea are reluctant to sell Bertrand to us. Is that the case?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

So you are disappointed with the lack of transfer activity in our club? With a total of 6 new 1st team players signed already (including those you mentioned) your disappointed?

Some people are difficult to please! Ha ha

I do know what you mean by spending big on an already world class established player though, personally I like the Vidal rumours - not sure if it's because Man U want him or not.

Hey Eds, I have seen a few reports online saying we are rekindling our interest in Rojo of Sporting Lisbon. Any idea if there is any truth to this? Would love to see him play for us.

Believable10 Unbelievable16

{Ed002's Note - It may be too late.}

23 Jul 2014 22:43:59
Bertrand is looking most likely from what I'm reading online right now?

Agree1 Disagree2

Good Rojo is shocking! Bertrands not great, Davies was good business by Spurs. Left backs that can defend and attack are very tough to find. We havnt had one who can do both for a long time!

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed001's Note - Davies can't defend, nor is he good going forward. Awful signing for Spurs in my opinion.}

I wouldn't want Rojo, thought he was very average during the world cup. overhyped in my opinion.

Agree1 Disagree1

Davies at 10 mil is certainly good business. He played in an average team last year and only has 2 years premiership experience. He'll do well at Spurs in a better team. Liverpool havnt had a decent fullback since Steve Finnan best all rounder we had not flash but steady. Davies is very much like that.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no he is not. He is average at best.}

23 Jul 2014 22:10:37
Any interest in howedes of shalke eds?

Believable3 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - Yes, but not from Liverpool.}

23 Jul 2014 22:24:12
I do not rate that guy at all

Eds, are Liverpool interested in Neto, the brazilian keeper, think he would provide fine competition for Mignolet. Thanks.

Believable4 Unbelievable19

{Ed002's Note - No.}

23 Jul 2014 22:24:57
Might get him on the cheap as after all it's Scandinavian for value ;-)

23 Jul 2014 20:33:15
Sorry if this has already been asked eds but is there any truth in what jim white on sly sports said? He claims lovren will be a Liverpool player by end of the week? Thanks for your hard work.

Believable36 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - I cannot comment on the timing but there remains every chance a deal can be done.}

24 Jul 2014 12:03:50
I suppose his head could start on the medical, but as the rest of him has been training with Saints this am at Staplewood "jumping the gun" comes to mind.

Hi Eds,

I posted this question in a much cheesier manner the other day in the hope for a legitimate answer but, it seems to have found its way over to the other banter page. I have used the search function and have found nothing on whether or not we have shown any interest in Kurzawa, the left back from Monaco. Is he available and have we shown any interest?

Thanks!

Believable8 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - Others have shown an interest, but not Liverpool.}

Thank you for the timely response ed! Your input is greatly appreciated as always!

Fingers crossed X

Hi Eds,

Rumour has it that Newcastle are chasing Mauricio Isla who doesn't seem to have much of a future with Juve. Have you heard anything? Personally, I wouldn't mind us signing him one bit should Johnson leave. Has there been any interest in Isla from us since June 1st where you wrote that there was no recent interest? Thanks a lot in advance.

Believable6 Unbelievable8

{Ed001's Note - nothing regarding us, sorry.}

23 Jul 2014 10:09:12
Moreno and Lovren will both happen it's just the matter of selling Johnson, Borini and Enriquez who have all got potential places to go QPR, Sunderland and Mid table EPL team.

Believable40 Unbelievable117

23 Jul 2014 11:00:54
Enrique won't be leaving this summer.

Agree10 Disagree1

I refuse to believe a rumour coming from someone who doesn't know the name of our current first choice left back

Agree13 Disagree0

So we need to sell a forward and a right back to buy a left and center back. ok. makes sense!

Agree1 Disagree0

Enriquez?

Agree2 Disagree0

Hmmmmm, surely "Enriquez" would like to know which mid table EPL team he's supposed to be signing for?

Agree3 Disagree0

Its not about their positions its about getting money in to pay the initial fee to secure the deals, You don't think Barca have given us £60+ million in a bit lump surely. Enrique (never will I press another letter by accident) is surplus to requirements now Moreno or Bertrand and Manquillo are coming in (Kelly and Flanagan will stay)

Agree1 Disagree1

How do you press a 'z' by accident after an 'z' if you're on an alphabetic keyboard on your phone they're nowhere near each other and if it's qwerty they're still not near each other haha:/

Agree2 Disagree1

Are you declaring a fact or an opinion? If it's fact then what is the source? If it's opinion then you are entitled to it, but don't post "Moreno and Lovren will both happen" as it misleads the reader.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed023's Note - You do know this is a rumours site?}

And I am sure it really is as simple as that!!

Agree2 Disagree0

Probably not the first, or the last come to that, but it has to be done (slow transfer day an' all that):
Ok, here I go: ". after an 'z'. "?!

Agree1 Disagree1

Haha fair enough eyebrow I walked right into that one ;)

Agree1 Disagree0

Manquillo is a right back?

Editors

I have followed this site for some time, but it has turned into a "ask the editors a question that's been asked a 100 times before" website, with a splash of rumours in between.

Suggestion, can we have a page for editors questions, and a page for rumours? (Don't get me wrong I want editors to comment on rumours as they see fit, just not answering the same questions about glen Johnson leaving or is Isco a possibility)

Rant over, on to the rumour.

I hear from a colleague, that bojan was moving to EPL to impress. And that assaidi would move to stoke under the pretence of first refusal on bojan if he could show his ability. Personally I think he is overrated.

Believable22 Unbelievable50

The people who ask the same question over and over again, MIGHT one day work out that they can scroll down the page first to see if the answer to the question they have is already there.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - unfortunately they are too lazy and ignorant for that. They don't read anything but their own posts, as we have tried summaries and separate pages for questions. None of them worked.}

Have you tried just posting none of them? Like eventually they'd learn? Although I suppose you could lose page views but if you don't you Ilse others and lose page views!. tough balancing act you've go there!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - we send most to the other LFC site we have now. Trouble is you get 5 or 6 different editors on the page, so they don't always know that something is a repeat.}

Yeah that's true too. what I would say is things that involve Suarez moaning or reus and cavani craving to just not put these anywhere as they are the really annoying ones.

I come on the site too read the comments of eds and reds, so I'm confused as too why people don't do the same?
What do they actually come on here for if it isn't too read the site?

Agree2 Disagree1

Agree with everything above completely . In a related topic, is there any update on Johnson leaving?

Dear Eds - do you know if any other teams are interested in Lovren eg. Chelski? Thank you in advance.

Believable7 Unbelievable9

{Ed001's Note - Spurs are very interested too, but as I told our Spurs supporting friend, who was blathering on about Lovren was 100% going there, Lovren wanted Champions League football with us, hence why they are not bidding for him currently. He might end up there, if we don't do a deal, but he certainly hasn't chosen to go there.}

23 Jul 2014 13:20:35
I think the reality (sadly) is that he will move to anyone who firstly meet Saints valuation and will then pay him the most. Much of the remainder he is reported to have said is a smoke-screen for greed, or ambition as he puts it. CL IMO is an extra he would prefer as he can make some money from that but it is an extra and would not limit him in a move. And of course, that is his choice and I wouldn't criticise him for that (apart he could be honest about it.)
But you need to recognise the comments from Saints indicate there is no where near a deal with LFC so I am certain other clubs will recognise this and not be slow to react.
Simply, I would suggest ignore all the straws such as going on strike, putting in transfer requests and CL is essential. Meet the fee and he is available, otherwise he isn't and this is the same situation for any other interested club.

Sevilla have refused to budge on their £20 million valuation of Alberto Moreno all summer, but Liverpool's £16 million bid for the talented 22-year-old remains on the table, according to a newspaper

Believable26 Unbelievable12

Are you sure it isn't the newspaper that remains on the table?
