Just seen a report that Liverpool have made a bid which reaches Tello's release clause of 10 million euros. Does Tello have a release clause? It stated that he may prefer to stay at Barca anyway. Any info? Judging by our signings so far I would imagine Liverpool now looking more closely at strengthening other areas of the team anyway.

Someone else has just posted this as well, where have you heard it? I think he would be a superb signing and would give some real competition in our attack. I just hope that if true, it isn't at the expense of signing Mkhitaryan despite them playing different positions as it has gone a little quiet on that front.
Do you know anything about this ed's? Cheers. {Ed002's Note - You perhaps don't want to get too wrapped up in release clauses.}

Something continues to drive the Tello stories. have him 9/4 coming to LFC, next suitor is Arsenal at 10/1. Also eds can you comment on Micah Richards to Anfield given all the money that's been put on it? {Ed002's Note - I cannot answer questions about gambling.}
Agree0
Disagree0
BR thinks he can turn Tello into the next Ronaldo with his speed, power and strength. His finishing is excellent too. To be honest I think he should jump ship and Liverpool would be a great option. He will always be behind someone at Barca unless he leaves and perhaps they resign him!
Agree0

I read on another site that he is only interested in staying at Barca and he will use the interest of other clubs to get a better deal.

Hello Ed's
Reports in Spain saying that Reina is definitely joining Barca.
Do you know if an offer has been made yet for Reina? {Ed001's Note - not yet that I know of, I was under the impression that Barca had changed their mind on a move for him this summer. I must have got it wrong, as I was basing it on us dropping interest in Begovic and Valdes deciding to stay. I can't see Mignolet joining to be a back up though, with the World Cup in the summer. }

If the rumour is true, Tom Ince has had his opportunity to join us, and it may have passed him by. Time to move on, we now have Aspas and Alberto. exciting times for LFC, plus we also get a percentage of the Ince sale too! (£2.5mill?)
Have a nice career Tom, you were badly advised about the move to LFC, and should have taken it while you had the chance, but that's life!
Perhaps youve missed the opportunity of a lifetime. in the lifetime of the opportunity!

No Hanman. If you're good enough and play consistantly well you'll get game time at Liverpool. Ince wants to be the big fish in a small pond same ego as father. He is scarred he is good enough to play ahead of those listed. So basically not good enough.
Take the 35% thanks and put it towards Alderweild

Ed, do you think Honda will end up at us? If not who do you think he will go to.
Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Honda was close to leaving last summer with a move to Lazio only failing at the last minute and I understand that Lazio would still be interested at the right price. He has had a bit of a strange season in that he has been scoring goals but his performances have been criticised - which seems to have put off Dortmund who have taken a recent look. Valencia have shown interest recently and would like to have him sign a pre-contract in the summer (as he becomes a free agent in January) but I imagine the player will wish to see what options are available. I am told that interest also remains from Fulham and what looks like the two most probable destinations right now, Everton and Milan.}

Afternoon Ed if we've dropped our interest in Papadopolous can you see us looking to De Vrij or maybe even Sakho?
I know what your thoughts were on these 2 previously but if Papa isn't an option then obviously somebody who previously wasn't is now going to be, if you know what I mean! {Ed002's Note - Feyenoord's Stefan de Vrij was the subject of interest from Arsenal and Newcastle last summer and a number of clubs have taken a look at the player this season including Spartak Moscow, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool. I understand that Liverpool spoke with Feyenoord about the availability of the De Vrij and a suggested figure was well above what they would consider paying and no offer was made, although interest remains. Chelsea and Manchester United both have interest in other centre backs and seem unlikely to consider the player further. Advice to the player from somebody very well respected in the game is to stay where he is until the right move comes along and to remember he is club captain where he is and should not move anywhere to find his opportunities of playing are reduced and he is sitting on the bench.
Sakho is on the list of targets for Monaco. Arsenal and Lyon have sustained interest in Sakho and there is some interest from Newcastle, Inter Milan, Manchester City and possible interest lingering interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona. PSG are not keen on selling.}
Believable7
Unbelievable6
Alderweireld? or is he now set on a move elsewhere {Ed002's Note - I expected Alderweireld to go to Spurs to replace Gallas or Roma to replace Marquinhos. Liverpool decided the asking price was too high, but it is certainly less than that being asked for Papadopoulos. It looks likely that a move to Bayer Leverkusen could go ahead although maybe Liverpool will look to him again.}
Agree0
Disagree0
Alderwields move to Bayer Leverkusen has fell through as personal terms couldn't be agreed. I would like to see us sign him but worried whether he's too similar to Agger, I think Papadopoulous would have been a good fit
Agree0
Disagree0
23 Jun 2013 16:38:26
Now that the interest in Papadopolous seems to be gone because of our price will we be targeting centre halves for around £10 million or will we be looking at unestablished cheaper centre halves? {Ed002's Note - I suspect one cheap in Ilori plus one other. Manchester City, Dortmund and Chelsea were surprised how high the asking price for Papadopoulos was and walked away.}
Believable16
Unbelievable3
Kelly and Agger. Toure and Wisdom back up
Agree0

With kelly being injured all last season and not really tested at centre back in senior team yet, I would rather bring in a more experienced centre back

23 Jun 2013 15:36:55
Makes no sense at all, suarez is a better player then cavani on his own. In any swap deal was to happen (which has 0% chance)I would expect cavani and money for suarez {Ed002's Note - You are living in a fantasy world.}
Agree0
Disagree0
To be fair edd, to swap cavani for suarexz and skrtel would equate to terrible business and make no sense, Liverpools best players from the past 2 seasons. i'd expect money and cavani for suarez. suarez is d best player in that lge . that's not to say napoli would see it that way . but a neautral would agree that it would not make good sense
5 gold stars {Ed002's Note - There is no question of an exchange at all. Whilst Suarez may interest Napoli there is no chance that Cavani will be moving to Liverpool.}
Agree0

I'd take Benzima and Alonso for Suarez if Real want a swap deal.

Also Suarez is not a better goal scorer or more attractive to a club than cavani

Ed002 just because you're a chelski fan doesn't mean you have to be so bitter about cavani.
No, he wouldn't join us because we can't match your ludicrous wages and don't have UCL- rub it in some more.
However, what people have been trying to point out, is that Suarez is twice the player Cavani is. If we were in UCL and Cavani would actually consider a move to us, then we would expect Suarez + cash for Cavani.
Redmen
{Ed002's Note - The question was nothing to do with Chelsea. I don't see how being honest about Cavani not joining Liverpool is being "bitter". You are making an embarrassment of yourself.}
Agree0

Liverpool has no interest in Cavani and Liverpool cannot afford Cavani.
Agree0

Eds is right keep dreaming but also stop saying Suarez is twice the player of cavani?!
He is not twice the player and Cavani will not get red carded for half the season.
Seriously this Suarez being untouchable is getting really stupid! Soon you will be saying he is better than Messi!
If he passed a little more and stop getting stupid bans then maybe he would be as good as cavani!

Suarez is easily twice a player compare to cavani. but his antics have let him down. for me only messi and ronaldo are better players then suarez because they have more pace then Suarez. if Suarez was playing for united he would easily be the hottest property in world football!

Would just like to apologise for a reply I made to an earlier post, the eds did not post it and I can see why. Poster - Don't worry mate, we're all getting frustrated with the stupid questions. The Ed's donate a lot of time and effort into providing this kind of site that allows us quite a bit of insight into the club and people just use it to ask the most ridiculous questions, or a repeat of what has been said a million time.
First Reply - How has that comment helped this site in any way? The poster was saying something that is very true, and unnecessary abuse from someone that hasn't even signed their name is pointless.

Just a thought I had Ed's. Why not try Coates as a cdm, to be back up for Lucas, instead of loaning him out.

Coate is unfortunately as quick as a barge midfield would not work. He simply needs a slower league where he will excel as his defending and technique are superb

Chad, Coates is perhaps the slowest player at LFC, and while I understand pace isn't everything, I rather doubt that is the way forward for Coates or LFC.

Not just his lack of pace (Lucas isn't the quickest) but he is so immobile that he wouldn't be able to cover the ground needed. A slower technical league would be his safest bet.

Reports today linking Manchester city worth a move for suarez are pathetic. He said he wants to leave because of the media and the way that they treat him. How is moving to Manchester going to solve that problem. Its just a newspapers attempt at trying to create a story that makes no sense {Ed002's Note - No it is not. Manchester City has a serious interest in the player and this is nothing new. It does not mean that he will move there but it is nothing whatsoever to do with newspapers making up any stories. This has been known for months.}

Ed just read that if suarez does leave Liverpool, they want benteke to replace him. Honda could be signing after he impressed scouts against italy in confederations cup and his a free transfer instead of splashing out on that guy from shaktar. {Ed002's Note - If Benteke moves to another EPL side I would expect it to be Spurs but Liverpool didf enquire a while back.
