Xabi Alonso in Jan? Madrid might want to cash in before he leaves on free in the summer. plus what with it not going well there atm

what you think eds? {Ed002's Note - His contract does not run out in the summer.}

God which rumour will die first? Xabi back,Torres back,or us signing David Villa? None of these 3 will happen.

The Plank

Alonso's Contract doesn't run out til summer 14

ed is there a chance we could sign tello on loan {Ed002's Note - I doubt it. Tello agreed a new contract last Monday which assures him that he will not be left in the B squad. General enquiries about the player's availability were made over the summer by Porto, Seville, Malaga and Liverpool. Discussions about loans of one type or another were raised by Valencia, Ajax and Atletico Madrid. I also understand that Benfica made a proposal to Barcelona - but I don't know what it is. I would hazard a guess that it related to Barcelona's interest in Nelson Oliveira.}

Apparently Rodgers has been handed a £40m "war chest" ..So why the hell haven't we looked at Falcao or Cavani? {Ed002's Note - Neither will be moving to Liverpool in January.}

Falcao!!!! I love your enthusiasm but at the moment there is no way in hell he would move to us. We need to become more solid and consistent (win many more games) before we can compete with the rest at the top of the table. Maybe 2 to 3 seasons time when we hopefully are competing again!!
YNWA
JFT96

Thats one expensive war chest! Musta got it at Harrods!

Ciario80

Having the money is one thing, these players on the whole need guaranteed CL every year and 'at present' we can't!

Keith

Either of these players would eat up our entire "war chest" and that would not include their wages.And as everyone else says why would they join a club with little prospect of CL football for some time yet?

The Plank

At Atletico Madrid Falcao is playing in champions league

What planet are you on?

Yeah lets blow £40 million on one player, then he gets injured so we are back to square one! Id put money on moaning that we signed one player!
LeeWils

Oh when, oh when will this Cavani questions end. Can these people not use the search function? I am so sick of reading them and can't imagine how sick the eds must be answering them.

24 Dec 2012 22:34:00
suarez v falcao....europa final . tasty . or what

I wonder if any of the owners who give out these war chests actually pack a wooden chest full of money and hand it to their respective managers. I would.

Yea we got 40m to spend lets get falcao o wait his buy out clause is 48m! well done

pinky

Cavani might, just might be on his way you know.

Do players really demand cl the club is more important than the player not all the expensive touted players are worth the money and ed002 isnt a lfc fan merry Christmas {Ed049's Note - He was just being realistic}

Please god I hope this is not true because he will waste it on mediocre players like Borini. The team which beat Fulham was the old team and none bought by him. Failure at Reading Watford and rode his luck at Swansea with an inherited team. We need a director of football to oversee the purchases.

Let's wait and see how that 40m war chest turns out - from the owners who couldn't find 6m to back the manager in the last transfer window.

To Ed 002 if possible -Non Related Liverpool Question
Who do you think is better Edinson Cavani or Radamel Falcao ?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - I am surprised that you say it is nothing to do with Liverpool, and I think comparing players is very difficult. I really think their is little to choose between them.}

24 Dec 2012 19:59:47
ed is there any chance of cavani {Ed002's Note - None whatsoever.}

If we somehow managed to get into Champions League next season? Any chance of Cavani or Falcao?

I'm sorry for being over-optimistic. {Ed002's Note - Neither will be moving to Liverpool in the Summer. Sorry.}

24 Dec 2012 19:42:56
Eds, Can you confirm if there actually is a clause of some sort in Tom Ince's contract, with states Liverpool will receive a proportion on the fee if is he sold. From my understanding he was transferred to Blackpool through a compensation deal, and I doubt a clause, like the one described would not have been placed in such a deal. I of course could be totally wrong, but you thoughts on this matter would be much appreciated.

Thanks

REDBLOOD {Ed002's Note - I have no idea - but it strikes me as unlikely as well.}

I am led to believe it is a 35% sell on clause, hence the fee of £4m and not £6m, sturridges transfer will benefit city his was through compensation too

Yes there is. Liverpool receive a percentage of any sell-on fee from Blackpool. So if/when we buy Ince, we will receive a percentage of the fee back. It has been widely reported in the press, a website and on the BBC.

Damien Camolli confirmed on last week that a big sell on clause was added in the deal. Also said he was part of the deal to bring Adam to the club

Bilverstone

YNWA
JFT96

Yes there is, commoli confirmed last week he was on talk sport. He didn't say what the percentage was but he did confirm that he put one in when they let him go.
And just for the record before he went to Blackpool, liverpool offered him a new contract as they wanted to keep him.

He has two clauses in his contract
1. Liverpool get 35% of his sell on price so if we buy him for 6 mill we only actually pay 3.9 mill for him
2. He has got a 600 thousand pay out bonus if he leaves Blackpool what they are supposed to pay, but they are saying Liverpool can pay it and Rodgers is sayin no an that they gave him that contract.
It will happen though just not sure how soon.

As for tom ince we let him go as he wanted to move on at the time and with very little contract left the fee was a compensation fee of £56000 if i remember correctly but there is also terms in such youth transferees that the parent club get a % of transfers after the fact ie 35% sell on clause

I like Brendan's way of doing business with Blackpool. {Ed002's Note - Any business done with Blackpool will be nothing to do with Rodgers.}

24 Dec 2012 19:05:00
Eds,

Any truth that Liverpool interested in signing Nemanja Matic from SLB Benfice? Do you rate him Eds?

Thanks.
Joseph. Merry Christmas to everyone. {Ed002's Note - There is no confirmation of interest and I would doubt a move back to England would interest him as things are going well in Portugal.}

Rather have nemanja vidic

Sturridge is a done deal Marin on loan along with Mignolet to replace Reina

Why do we want to replace Reina, give me one good reason

One good reason? I could give many.

Firstly hes inconsistent
secondly makes fatal mistakes hes cost us at least a dozen important games, FA cup final last year is an example. How can he get beat at his near post? He also cost us a champions league semi final against chelsea a few years back.
Thirdly he lets goals in that most goalies would save with ease.

Why would we replace reina with mignolet? Would be happy with the others though.

Marin? Mignolet?

Okay replace Reina with Butland instead

The problem here is the "Grass is always greener" syndrome.Yes Pepe makes ricks but people watch a couple of games on t.v. and assume the keeper they're watching is ALWAYS that good and never makes a mistake.Butland may well be a fine keeper for the future but he's shipping a lot of goals at present and is still very young and inexperienced.Hart spent a whole season on loan before City recalled him and eased him into a first team place.

The Plank

Pepe, am I not right in saying that he was our best player for a couple of seasons and our most consistent performer? Pepe is a great goalie, I thought it was thew Liverpool way to back our lads to the end... Its been a tough few seasons and things haven't been going our way, not to mention all the problems off the pitch,,, Its bound to reflect on the players form! The guy needs our support... Our defence has been make shift more or less as has our team... We need to get a season over us and get settled... If we get behind our lads and stop complaining about who we need and concentrate on what we have I think that would go a lot farther! Our team is superb, we just need some experience threw in to help settle the young guys in... A striker that knows where the net is to take some pressure off Suarez, which will probably ease him into the prolific finisher he was for Ajax... This season we just need to hold our own guys together and show were with them... I read all everyone posting complaining and im sure its not going to inspire our guys... I thought we were one big family? Maybe this is half the teams problem, were the best fans in the country, possibly the world... But were not showing it by complaining just cos things aren't going right... Blame Hicks and Gillet, they left our great club in tatters... Lets help put that right...

Eds, you do a great job, which im sure ain't easy at the best of times... Thanks for all the time you put in to keeping us in the loop and our feet on the ground... Merry Christmas {Ed002's Note - Happy Holidays!}

24 Dec 2012 18:20:10
Eds I hear that Coates might leave and his replacement is Toby Alderweireld of Ajax. Any truth? Thanks and Merry Christmas! {Ed002's Note - Ajax's Toby Alderweireld looks a likely canditate to replace William Gallas in the summer.}

Ajax just can't keep hold of their Belgians can they

24 Dec 2012 18:10:04
Hi eds, you say there is interest in Coates. Do you think he'll be allowed to leave and if he is will it be on loan or permanently? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know but if he is struggling to settle then he will be talking to the club about his future. There is certainly interest from Santos as I explained.}

Man c'mon .. Sebastian Coates is an excellent CB .. We need him.. If he wants regular football we can sent him on loan..But please let's not sell him for christ sake :((

Indian Kopite

24 Dec 2012 18:05:56
Ed002 if reina was to leave in either jan or summer who do u think possible replacements may be? surely some of the german keepers will be looked at {Ed002's Note - The summer is a long way off right now but Kevin Trapp is worth keeping an eye on.}

Ed do we have an interest in him? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware. You are asking a speculative question about the summer.}

24 Dec 2012 17:37:30
Merry Christmas Eds! :)
Anyways, any interest in Lorenzo Insigne... from us or anyone else? {Ed002's Note - Insigne won't be moving anywhere in January.}

24 Dec 2012 17:30:10
Hi Eds. What do you think will happen to Andy Carroll? Allardyce's recent comments about lack of goals, together with the injuries, would seem to make a permanent move to West Ham unlikely. Do Liverpool have a plan B? Thanks for the great site, and Merry Christmas. {Ed002's Note - It is too early to tell what the summer will bring.}

Ed, i predict that the upcoming Summer will bring in record rain fall. :)

Depends if Rodgers is still in charge

I thought there was a clause the west ham had to buy him if the stayed up, and from memory the clause was 18mil. can you confirm this eds? maybe I was reading from a false source {Ed052's Note - that clause is in ther yes. WH don't have to buy him tho. That's the fee they can buy him for if they wish to}

24 Dec 2012 16:30:42
Any chance of taking Lucas Piazon or Marin on loan either in January or the summer?
RedBeer. {Ed002's Note - No.}

24 Dec 2012 15:43:27
Eds what is the deal with Christian Tello?
Apparently he has a 10m euro buy out clause and frankly you couldn't find a better match for Lfc. He is mobile, quick, can play on wings and is trained for pass and move! The only question is would he like to come to our club. But shouldn't we be trying atleast? {Ed002's Note - Don't make anything of the "buy out" clause. He signed a new contract last Monday. He won't be moving to Liverpool in January.}

24 Dec 2012 14:09:32
eds
got a picture of sturridge in liverpool how can i upload?
is there any chance of gamerio aswel on loan? be a better option than jefferson?
Fianlly IF we sign ince will be going back to blackpool on loan?
bhav {Ed002's Note - You can upload to "pictures" or "sightings" - button on left somewhere. There has been long term interest in PSG's Kevin Gameiro from Lille and Dortmund; Everton and Kuban Krasnodar are showing interest in the player. A move in the summer seems more likely than January.}

24 Dec 2012 13:43:05
Hello Eds,
1. A number of sites reporting Santos and Sao paolo are interested in Coates. Is it likely to be a loan deal ?
2. Any progress on the Ince deal ? heard Jack robinson could go to them on loan as part of the deal.
3. Do you reckon we would we will go for a CB in jan as there is reported interst in Dvrij and Mirin ?
4. Finally any idea if there are any other loan options other than Jeffren Suarez ? really cannot understand the interest in him especially if we acquire Sturridge and Ince. {Ed002's Note - (1) Santos have a confirmed interest in buying Coates. (2) I understand that Liverpool has made another proposal to Blackpool - and it is possible a player on loan might be included as part of the proposal. (3) If Coates does actually leave, then yes. If not, I doubt it would be seen as a priority. (4) I can only say that I am aware that Liverpool made an approach about Suarez - and am not aware of approaches to other clubs regarding loans.}

''4) I can only say that I am aware that Liverpool made an approach about Suarez - and am not aware of approaches to other clubs regarding loans.}''

I thought Suarez played for Liverpool, is this another Suarez? Or have i lost the little bit of plot i had? Slightly confused here. {Ed002's Note - Jeffren is Jeffren Suarez.}

Thanks for the reply Ed especially considering its Christmas and you took time out.
fianlly is there any truth we are about to bid for Butland ? a number of journos seem to be reporting it but it strikes me as unlikely especially considering we recently extended Jones contract. {Ed002's Note - I am by no means convinced of any bid by Liverpool and I do not actually know of anything more than speculation about any interest from Liverpool in Butland. Additionally, I would consider Butland a high-risk move if Liverpool were to look to him as a first choice goalkeeper at this time.}

24 Dec 2012 13:11:38
ince deal fell through, blackpool wanted at least 6m, liverpool were only willing to pay 4m. and fenway dont want to 'over pay' again.

so no ince guys, sorry, he really is smashing up the championship

red tdog

Where do u get this tosh from!?

Please tells us!

NS

What a load of RUBBISH! I bet you he will sign!
Redmanluka

I don't know if this is true but apparently we have a percentage of any sell on fee. We will offer 6m but with the sell on fee it brings it down to 4m.

The club just need to accept they made a mistake with Ince and move on and target other players. In any case, i actually thought Ince was quite wasteful in front of goal and lacked composure in the televised match v Wolves at Bloomfield road last Friday. Players can also look very good in the Championship dont forget. I wouldn't be overly concerned if we missed out on him...

If blackpool won't sell for a reasonable price and ince really wants to come back. Why not wait till the summer when his contract is up and let tribunal settle the price.

24 Dec 2012 12:45:08
Hi Ed.
Is it true that lfc owner handed 40m budget to rodger to spend. Then y rodger didnt try to sign out an out striker. I knw lfc will sign sturidge ince and perhaps jeffern as well. Bt none of them is out an out striker. As we all know lfc need a goal poacher so any chance of bony, ba, gomis, or gramerio. Thanx. Plz do reply. {Ed002's Note - I would doubt he would have that sort of amount of money available in January, but they will be supportive within reason. All of these players have been dealt with elsewhere and I would not be so sure any would arrive in January.}

BR will have nowhere near £40m to spend. Expect the £12m the club are overpaying (again - i know hard to believe isn't it) Chelsea for Sturridge to be the biggest signing with perhaps another forward player around the £6/7m mark. It will be a long time before the owners give an LFC manager big bucks to spend given the disaster of previous transfer windows

24 Dec 2012 16:20:21
sturridge is an out and out striker as long as you play him as one, i like him

Why spend. Lots of money on an out and out striker when Suarez wants to play false nine

That leaves your money on the bench

Sturridge and borini are also both just as/more happy playing through the middle.

So you think luis is gonna be happy on the wing or the bench?

Shushyboy

24 Dec 2012 19:56:57
i see sturrige as a number 2 for luis, unless the manager changes his team formation.......but we do need a stand in striker anyhow...i think sturrigde is good business

24 Dec 2012 12:49:43
Hi Ed's, Great site. Is there any truth to the rumour that David Villa is a target in the january transfer window?

Y.N.W.A MR.B {Ed052's Note - no truth}

Off to Arsenal or swansea

Why on earth would Villa join Liverpool ?

Villa will probably leave not the upcoming transfer window but the summer transfer window.

Who knows where he'll end up?

SLURed

24 Dec 2012 12:33:55
not a rumour but could you tell me what position sturridge will play in when he signs? {Ed002's Note - Assume anywhere across the forward line.}

24 Dec 2012 13:25:32
We bought him for defensive duties mate. A converted centreback.

Jolly Red

That's up to Brendan to decide. If Brendan thinks Sturridge's striking prowess is needed in a match, he will be a striker; If Brendan thinks Sturrudge is better off playing as a winger, then he will be a winger.

Seen in my local paper (the star) that there's a clause that comes with sturridge an that is he only wants to play up top an not as a wide man. Ed is there any truth in this or what I'm reading is it a load of b.s cheers. One more thing happy Xmas to all reds an eds an the 96 y.n.w.a G {Ed002's Note - I have no idea at all - sorry.}

I heard the three players on top will be Sterling, Sturridge, Ince and Suarez will play as a "no10" role sitting behind them.

SLURed

24 Dec 2012 12:10:26
Hi Reds and Eds,

Apparently, deal for Sturridge is all but done. However, the one for Ince has hit a momentary snag but this should be resolved reasonably quickly. We will do one more bit of business in the winter window, with Gameiro, Jeffren, Long, Ba and Walcott still options, although it seems the latter will sign a new deal at Arsenal.

YNWA and have a good 'un!

Thanks for confirming what we have known for weeks lol

Sturridge and Butland would do

24 Dec 2012 11:44:26
Eds don't know if you have any info on reserve and U18 level , but do you know what happened to Josh Sumner? Was he released or just injured

Cheers Peter {Ed002's Note - My notes say "released by Liverpool, failed trials at Wigan". As such, I don't know where he is right now.}

He is at wigan

24 Dec 2012 11:27:05
Heard Liverpool scouts have been watching Rodrigo Aguirre, an 18 year old Uraguy under 21 striker who plays for Liverpool in Uraguy.. Any news on this Ed? {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it, sorry.}

A young Suarez lookalike!

24 Dec 2012 10:59:08
If the Sturrridge deal is now extremely close to being completed, is there now no chance in Walcott signing who I think would be a better signing.

Merry Christmas
The Red One {Ed002's Note - From my perspective I still think that a new deal could be agreed at Arsenal and a new contract signed by Walcott. However, in January, if no deal has been agreed he will be able to talk with the likes of Juventus who have apparently shown tentative interest. There remains the thought that Liverpool or Chelsea would be interested in taking him, although they cannot speak to him before the end of the season without the club agreeing. Arsenal can easily stonewall a move in January so I don't know if Walcott will even be available for a move then - nor what other options he would have if he were. Deciding to leave Arsenal may not enhance his career, particularly if he wants to stay in England.}

Hey Eds, would it not be wiser for Arsenal to try and cash in in January if Walcott is still showing no signs of signing a new deal, rather than losing him for free in the summer?

I would be surprised if we haven't let him known that we are interested, if I remember correctly I'm pretty sure it was reported that Rodgers and him share the same agent?

24 Dec 2012 10:52:25
The rumours of wilfried Bony has died down. Apart from sturridge and Ince deal, bony can be a gud addition. He's young and a gud finisher too. 3 deals can be completed wit 25m. Is thr stil boy interest? {Ed002's Note - Wilfried Bony was of interest to Newcastle over the summer and has been a player Chelsea have been considering for a while. Right now there is varying degrees of interest from Marseille, Aston Villa, QPR, Liverpool, Everton and a couple of German sides (Hamburg and Schalke) but only Marseille is pushing. It would not be a surprise to see interest from other teams, possibly Napoli and Roma. The player has said he would like to join Chelsea but any move in January is by no means certain.}

24 Dec 2012 05:25:02
Hi Eds,

Great site - thanks for all the hard work you all put in.

Not a rumour as such but more of a clarification if you could.

With Sturridge pretty much a done deal (alledgedly), does that mean that we won't be looking at any further strikers in Jan? I'm assuming that with both Sturridge and Walcott wanting to play in the central striker role, the interest in Walcott is now on ice indefinitely - with Borini on the mend, the youngsters coming through, and obviously Suarez' role pretty well defined - I'm also assuming that no other established strikers will be wanting to come to Anfield to 'fight' for a place on the team so any further reinforcements coming in would be younger players or squad players willing to play a back up role?

Thanks in advance,

Reds Phan 96 {Ed002's Note - I would not confuse the matter with talk of Walcott. Think forwards rather than strikers and perhaps you can add Ince and possibly someone on loan.}

Morning eds.and1 and all,FSG will back BR well in this window,i cant see no loans coming in only buys for me,im very happy sturridge is coming in,12m thats a good price for this window.he is young, fresh,an hungry,the boy has bags of pace and with loads to prove.in BR I TRUST.ince coming back not so sure a maybe for me,im thinking a keeper will be on his way in.how about a front 3 of suarez,sturridge,walcott.;) jay essex red for life red till dead.as always walking on with hope.happy xmas to all

24 Dec 2012 04:28:06
I can guarantee that Jeffren will not be coming to LFC, period. He is an average player who has failed to make it in Portugal. BR has supposedly inquired about him, so says reports? I highly doubt it. Many reports have sworn that LFC has 'spoken' to clubs for such and such players, but not necessarily true.

I point you to what BR recently said: that many agents start rumors about their clients being linked to specific clubs so that interest can be generated for them to move on. Jeffren is one such case. Once we bring in Sturridge and Ince, there will be no space for another inside forward. I know those suggesting that LFC is in for Jeffren are saying that he is coming in as a squad attacking player because Joe Cole is leaving.

But look carefully at the situation. At the end of January we will have the following inside forwards/wingers: Sturridge, Sterling, Suso, Ince, and possibly Downing (still a chance that he will stay, if no strong offer comes in for him). That's more than enough depth for the two front positions either side of the number 9.

On the other hand, the Kévin Gameiro link holds water. He would serve different purposes. Should he come in, he would possibly play as a mobile striker thus allowing BR to play Suarez in the number 10/playmaker role.

Gameiro would as you say be a good addition if the price is right.

BigD

I am crying whole day to get him...
he has the required quality for us in a reasonable price...
can score goals..and he is a real talent {Ed002's Note - I would not be so sure that Gameiro will be moving anywhere at all in January - although a team mate will.}

24 Dec 2012 11:35:01
What do you mean by a team mate will ed

Wafa {Ed002's Note - Someone he plays football with.}

Who and where too? Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Guillame Hoarau - and we will need to wait to see.}

You can't guarantee anything of the sort!

Wiki already has him as a pool player!?

ANYONE can update wikipedia!

I could go on there now and write over Neil Armstrong with my name and people would think I was the first man to walk on the moon!

Well, you would!

SuperDuperSuarez

We will also have Fabio Borini who will be fit by atleast 1st week of Jan.....so we have good attacking strength
and BR knows better than all of us about the unit
chill guys....YNWA

24 Dec 2012 08:29:09
Will llorente leave in the summer for free or in jan.
I know juventus is the most likely but still.what do u think? {Ed002's Note - Whilst Fernando Llorente is still interesting a number of clubs talks of a January move to Juventus have again taken place with agreement on personal details reached with Llorente's advisors. Whilst Chelsea, and I suspect Manchester City, have dropped their interest, a number of other clubs were scared off by the size of the transfer fee being asked by Athletic Bilbao, regardless of his contract expiring in the summer. There is now a good chance that he will move in January rather than waiting for the summer. Recent interest from Arsenal, Spurs, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona has been ramping up but will likely come to nothing. Athletic Bilbao are not getting value from the player right now and are resigned to losing him and I suspect will seek to get Juventus to double their low offer to facilitate a January move. His alternatives will be to sign a new contract (very unlikely), sign a pre-contract in January for a summer move or to let his contract run down and go for a good sized signing on fee.}

The amazing thing is, you can get 5/1 llorente signing for juventus by 1st feb, and only 8/11 on him signing for us. absolute madness, particularly now weve (pretty much) signed sturridge . if the eds think hes likelt to go this jan instead of on a free in summer, 5/1 has definitely got to be a good bet on him going juventus. unless the bookies know something about him coming to us?

24 Dec 2012 02:56:01
what about this player bernard from brazil he leads his team in goals and assists. {Ed002's Note - Atletico Mineiro's Bernard refused offers from Zenit and Qatar in the summer but may move on this January. Inter and Liverpool both had Bernard watched last summer with Inter offering part ownership of others in exchange for part ownership of Bernard, but again that was refused. However, Spartak Moscow and Shakhtar Donetsk have both recently approached Atletico Mineiro and it looks like a deal could be done.}

Love this site, just looked at this guy on YouTube and he is the player we have been looking for IMO. We have far to many average players, I implore BR to push the boat out on this guy. What we need is class ! {Ed002's Note - He is certainly attracting interest from several sides but a good offer could tempt them to sell. He was one of the South American players that Liverpool were scouting earlier in the year and several sides remain aware of him but perhaps would rather not make a move for, say, another year.}

In a year how much will he cost ? And what other clubs will be in for him, at the moment were not shopping at the same store as the top European sides so we buy early and back our judgement or we don't get IMO. Will scotish red {Ed002's Note - In addition to Spartak Moscow and Shakhtar Donetsk, Chelsea has been keeping a close eye on his progress as have Manchester City.}

24 Dec 2012 02:05:29
Ed just on your post about rossi could liverpool go for a loan move with an option to buy if he proves fitness and plays well at the end of the season {Ed002's Note - You seem to be clutching at straws.}

Exx manc wouldnt want him anywhere near the club

24 Dec 2012 01:10:37
Hey eds, just wondering, it was mentioned by Ed02 that a number of high profile clubs showed interest in Feghouli. Was Liverpool one of them? {Ed002's Note - Whilst scouted, I would not expect Feghouli to be moving to Liverpool.}

24 Dec 2012 01:20:01
Ed i heard that liverpool are interested in signing leandro damiao but would the high asking price put them off {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

Fifty pounds he is holding his breath

Ed, you said the exact same thing about Sahin {Ed002's Note - Right, I expected Sahin to go to Arsenal. I really don't know why we bother answering any of these questions at all when we get is ungrateful DFs like you picking on the errors. It really makes it absolutely hopeless for us.}

Ed's or anyone else,

Just wanted to know if LFC are interested in Quaresma as he's just been released by Besiktas?

We need attackers and an additional winger so would he be a viable option?

If not, does anyone know of any interest in him from any other teams?

thanks
Happy Christmas

SR {Ed002's Note - Quaresma has struggled somewhat since leaving Porto where much was expected of him when he was younger. Since leaving Porto he has been much lower profile and has had a number of clubs but not really settled. As he has had his contract with Besiktas cancelled he is a free agent and will probably be heading back to the Iberian peninsula - possibly with Porto.}

hey eds, from the posts, i know that the 3 players we have been linked

sturridge
ince
jeffren suarez

my question is, would liverpool try to get all 3? or does this depend on outgoing as well?

from the posts i would say ince and sturridge are happening as we speak, i think im mostly talking about the 3rd forward, meaning is the enquiry in jeffren suarez on loan is as a backup to incase something happens?

thanks eds

Kaizer {Ed002's Note - I suspect if possible they are all viable options to join this winter.}

Ed do you know of any interest in christian eriksen and giuseppe rossi {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Spurs, Inter and AC Milan have shown some level of interest in Eriksen in the past year or so. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan and Spurs remain the most interested clubs and Manchester City may well return for him again. Back in July the Milan Press Office were convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expected a bid to be made by for Eriksen. Expect both Milan clubs and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United. The player remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for18 more months before moving to Spain but would likely jump at the chance of a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona if the opportunity arises. Ajax will not let him run down his contract so a move beckons. With only limited options for January, I suspect the player would wish to see out the rest of the season at Ajax and see if he can attract attention from Spain.

Giuseppe Rossi is still out with a significant injury problem - to me if Liverpool wish to buy him it would be a particularly dumb move until he has proved his fitness.}

He's injured - perfect! We should definitely spend a fortune on him. Then, once he's fit, loan him out. Then sell him at a huge loss. It's a proven model - Aqua, Carroll........
