I've heard lots of talk from numerous people that Isco Alarcón is a player that Liverpool are seriously interested in and are trying to persuade him to come to Anfield in the Summer (Via Agents)

Believable7 Unbelievable18

No chance as much as we would like, he is only 21 and has started 16 (and 7 apps off the bench) games in the league at Real madrid and more off the bench which is no mean feat.

No point getting our hopes up for someone who almost certainly isn't coming to anfield in summer!

Agree1 Disagree1

I would think these "numerous people" are wrong, because there is no chance of getting Isco.

Put this in the Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Moreno, Messi, Diego Costa category as never going to happen.

I assumed it was 1st April when I saw
that the Telegraph said that Real Madrid
were considering making an offer for G.J.

Surely this is lazy journalism? If not take
the cash and run

Believable5 Unbelievable15

Ever since gj has returned from injury he's been pretty solid. I think people fail to consider he played most of his bad spell with an injury. The slightest of injuries can throw your game off big time; not just physically, but mentally.

Agree1 Disagree1

The cash mentioned was £5m.

{Ed002's Note - New car then - cool.}

Are any club(incl us) looking at Jorden Mutch. Thought he had a good game at Anfield and also on Saturday. Young and seems to be developing well, and has a goal threat.

Believable8 Unbelievable55

The event that annoyed me more than any other this weekend was the reaction of Mutch when he scored the first goal. He pointed to his name on the back of his shirt to show us that he had finally reached FIVE goals on his 28th League appearence. That put Cardiff in the lead but he didn't do it when he scored his 2nd as this was another case of too little, too late. He now stands level with Martin Skrtel - 28 games, 6 goals. To be good enough for Liverpool he has to point to the name on the front of the shirt, not the back!

Agree2 Disagree2

I was tempted to ask the same question after the game. Maybe it's MOTD fever but he had a very good first half against us, scored two very well taken goals and was pacey and direct. Plus he scored at Anfield. At 23 he has plenty of time to develop. I don't think we would go for him but we could certainly do a lot worse.

Agree1 Disagree0

He is a decent player and has good movement, but not pacey. I think this is the kind of signings which have let us down in the past. I only see us going for one central midfielder and with CL, I think we can aim higher than Mutch.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh do me a favour! NOT Liverpool standard by a long shot. Ridiculous!

Hey eds, another realistic-sounding name propped up on or somewhere - Matteo Mussachio, and on a free (also, rumours of Barca interest). Have you heard any links to him, I haven't kept track of him for a while, but I think he is rather similar to Ilori and fitting in the style envisioned by Brendo?
Also, any updates on Montoya, will he be signing his contract soon?

Believable4 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - This who centre back issue has been done to death. I would not hold your breath about Musacchio. Montoya will not be moving.}

I know it is a broad question, but who, if anyone, have we shown any real interest in of late? Thanks eds.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - You need to read the posts but Rojo, Firmino and Fischer have been looked at. There was an enquiry about Bertrand and one about Parejo.}

Firmino for me Eds looks like exactly what we need. Can play centrally and offers goals and assist. Work permit issues like you have suggested might be the sticking point though. Did we scout him yesterday do you no against Bayer? Would you think he signature demands 15m+?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am aware of Liverpool looking at him in a game against Wolfsburg. Money is not something which we should discuss.}

Here is a btoad view of the players we are looking at
CB
Hinteregger-There is no confirmation of interest but only vague speculation
Rojo-We have inquired about him recently he is a CB who can also play as a LB
LB
Bertrand-We held talks with his representative in
January But Ed02 reckons he may be moving elsewhere
CM
Parejo-We inquired about him valencia will not stand in his way if a decent offer is made
Will Hughes-We hold interest in him but we have to move quickly as other clubs may be interested in him
LW
Fischer-We have inquired about him as he is being hawked around
Ayew-We inquired about him last summer and he is ine to keep an eye in
Konoplyanka-We seem to have dropped our interest in him
We may also br interested in Shaqiri and menez
We mayvshiw interest in Rakitic if he is available at a sensible price and firmino if someone leaves
Did I miss anyone?

Agree1 Disagree1

Excellent summary Reet. However, I think we have only shown interest, no inquiry for Rojo.

Also, I don't think we need to sell someone to buy Firmino. As a versatile AM, he can play in a numberof ppositions in a number of formations.
