Just been told Liverpool scouts are at the Werder Bremen-Tottenham game. Was told by a reporter for the Echo, not sure if it's true and have no idea why we'd be scouting the Spuds or a poor Bremen side.
Err, we are playing Tottenham on Sunday. It has been known for teams to scout their upcoming opposition from time to time. Camera's showed Hodgson is there.
And hopefully were looking at marko marin, he would be an awesome signing

Liverpool have a buy back clause in Adam Hammill's contract with Barnsley which is thought to be under £1mil. Liverpool could be set to buy him back and sell him on for maybe up to £4mil, with Newcastle and Wigan reportedly interested in him. I think he could even be worth a shot on our wings, hes a natural winger and can play both left or right side. Or he could end up being snapped up by someone else and turn out like Adam Johnson. (we should of got him when we had a chance! Only £7mil aswell!)

Any player from mancity on your wishlists will not be joining us in jan or at the end of the season. mancity will not strengthen anyteam that they consider a rival. nico krancjar will be joining in jan for around 5m, ed i know your not a huge fan but this kid could be a really good player 4 us. his dad has stated he wants out and harry confirmed it on talksport. it wud allow cole to cum in to the middle to play off torres. very rarely will any big player move in jan the real rebuild will cum in the summer, so only expect players who are availible or out of favour. a loan deal for robbie keane might not be a bad shout as a back up never really had the chance under rafa and his career seems to have gone downhill fast since, may want to prove a few people wrong? i seriously doubt that any player that has a contract running out will move due to losing out on the huge signing on fee they wud recieve in the summer. jan is a tough window to buy in, think honda will be the biggest target but whether roy can convince him lfc is where he should be i don't no.
not expecting much more than that to be fair as roys job is on unsteady ground, and without full backing of the current squd or the fans i just can't see nesv throwing to much money at it this season

There are loads of players that fit the NESV criteria but I'm sure we won't sign them all. Would love to see Adam Johnson at the club but can't see that happening. I don't rate Benzima. Hazard again I can't see happening. For me Honda is our best bet.

. .first of all, who is coming/ going is largely guess work, but I would be pretty sure the following will not happen. .
Lisandro Lopez. . .he is currently the highest paid player in france. . .NESV will not go for this at 27yrs old. .
Gomez. . . . . . . . he is currently doing v well for bayern, so i can't see them let him go (which is a pity as i think he would be a great signing)
Coentrao. . . . . . .great player but big spender clubs looking at him so value out of our current league.

I am really sorry but there will be no transfers in that will happen in January. This is not the main priority because management feels that the team is strong enough for a top 6 finish.
Well if that's the way the club feel, i'm happy.
Just wish that the club's ambition is WIN the league (more positivity needed).

Liverpool Football Club continue to be linked with Lisandro Lopez.
Roy Hodgson is in the market for a new striker when the window reopens, as he looks to ease some of the goalscoring burden on Fernando Torres.
The Reds coach was linked with a move for Lopez during the summer weeks, and he is believed to have kept a progress check on the player since.
The Argentine cost Lyon £24million when he joined from Porto last year, but reports have indicated the French club are prepared to listen to offers for his signature.
A fee of £17million is likely to be enough to force a sale, but it remains to be seen if Anfield owner John W Henry would sanction such a big-money move.
Lopez, 27-years-old, has an impressive strike rate in France, and he is under contract at the Stade Gerland until the end of the 2012-2013 campaign.
This was taken off fanfc, not sure if they are reliable or not but it would explain why were are lookin in france. What do you think Ed?

Liverpool have been lightly linked with Adam Johnson, Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema. Both Johnson and Benzema havent really been getting first team football and are both class acts. All three would be brilliant signings if we can get them as they're all talented and young.

Tomás Necid is a Czech Rep. Target man for CSKA Moscow . He stands 6ft 3" tall , has good touch and pace , scoring 27 goals in 66 appearances in all competitions , of those 66 appearances - 27 were as a substitute . during the last 3 years .
He is maturing into a quality player and he is being linked to a variety of Super Clubs .
His playing style is very similar to that we have seen Andy Carroll demonstrate during the last 18 months .

Hi Ed. I saw the interview with Keisuke Honda on CNN (Talk Asia). The good news is he can speak a some English. The bad news is that he dreams about playing for Real Madrid one day. He said that RM was his boyhood club. So ed what are LFC's chances of getting him? It seems like he wants to play for RM. YNWA {ed's note - Real Madrid don't seem to have any interest in him, so that is not really an issue at the moment. We have every chance of getting him mate, obviously depends on who else goes in for him though.}

Sneijder, Robben and Van Der Vaart did not fail at R. Madrid mate. Believe it or not they had to sell them to retrieve some money back from the purchaces of Ronanldo, Kaka, Alonso, Di Maria, Ozil etc. And the 3 dutch men were the ones that could bring in the most money from players which was necessary.
Robben- Bayern (23 mill)
Sniejder- Inter (15-20 mill)
Van Der Varrt- Spurs (9 mill plus add ons)

Robben, Sneijder and Van der Vaart were deemed failures at Real Madrid. Van der Vaart had a spell of about two months in his whole time where he played well, Robben had a period of about 5-6months in total, and Sneijder made a good start but his form greatly fell.
Real Madrid spent £25m on Robben, sold for £20m. They spent £22m on Sneijder, sold for £12.5m. They spent £12m on VDV, sold for £8m to Spurs. So they made losses on all three, which really reflects their form. Although given the ability of the players, it is understandable that losses weren't massive.

I personally don't think that Eden Hazard will join Liverpool as he has said that he would prefer to join Arsenal or Real Madrid. However if neither of these clubs attempt to sign him do you honestly think he will stay with Rijsel (that's Dutch for Lille). I don't think so. We will only see if they really want him after Liverpool have made an offer. The prospect of playing in the First Team at Liverpool might prove to be a better option than sitting on the bench at Arsenal or Real Madrid. The same goes for Lukaku and Defour.

I really cannot see us signing Eden Hazard - either in this or the next transfer window. I know he has been in sparkling form recently but £18m? If reports are true that's around 75% of our £25m transfer budget. . we need to improve the squad - his signing in my view is not viable. He has also previously stated he would like to join either Real Madrid or Arsenal, and Arsene Wenger has been interested in him for a long time. I expect him to be at Arsenal next season. We have been seen to watching Lille a lot this season, I think its more likely to be looking at Adil Rami and Gervinho.
Also i think the Joan Capdevila rumours have some legs, we need a left back and he is one of the best around - but at 32, he isn't the man to solve our long term problems - he also doesn't fit in with NESV's supposed policy of bringing in up and coming young talent
I would expect our January targets to be the likes of -
Ryan Shawcross - solid English centre half, with Agger's injury record and Carragher getting on a bit now would cost around £10m. Lille's Adil Rami would also be a good signing
Keisuke Honda - highly skilful and versatile player, would add creativity and attacking threat, new posterboy for Asian market - said to be available for around £9m, Dmitri Payet has also been recommended by Comolli
Fabio Coentrao - exciting attacking threat, and solid in defence. Can cover all positions on left side, and solve our left back problem for next 10 years. Would probably cost in excess of £15m - due to the fact there aren't many high class left backs in the world (A.Cole, Lahm and. . )
Lacina Traore - (a personal choice) having seen him a few times in Champions League, this guy could really be something. Think Peter Crouch with pace and the ability to head the ball. Would cost around £5m, and would be an ideal target man (something i think Roy wants considering he targeted C.Cole and Zamora)

Erm. this is paper talk from todays press, and i have to say he isn't a steal. he is 32. i will say it again 32. how exactly does that fit in with NESV often stated policy of buying into youth or players with a sell on value.
He may come on a free. but would demand high wages another negative point in regard to our policy.
What is this obsession with another left back. i know the position needs a half decent player there because at the moment we have sicknote aurelio and konch. plus we have some good youngsters. If we need another player to cover that position what does this say about roys ability to find players. why did he buy konch and resign sicknote in the first place

Hazard would rather stay with Lille, Benzema won't join a team that are struggling to hold down a european spot, let alone a champions league place and Gomez has got a first a first team place at Bayern, so hope there is lost. Realistically we are looking at selling Babel, who has failed to impress under Hodgson, Agger will join Inter as Samuel's replacement after a fallout with Hodgson and there is a possibility of Fabio Aurelio leaving again. Jovanovic and Poulsen CANNOT GO IN JANUARY! !
In RH has stated his intentions of signing "5 - 6 new players" in January, so expect:
Oscar Wendt - £4m
Ryan Shawcross - £8m
Blaise Matuidi - £7m
Charles N'Zogbia - £10m
Dimitri Payet - £9m
Hugo Rodallega - £12m
So a total of £50m spent and a total of £25-30m to spend in January, plus the £20m earnt + Aurelio makes £26m. So mid-table is where we are aiming this season, and probably next. Woohoo. ."
I'm struggling to find one part of this post that is likely/ well informed. Other than pick names from the papers you're still labouring under the misapprehension that Hodgson is solely responsible for transfers and that Jova and Poulsen cannot leave in January. Neither have played for their prior teams this season and thus CAN leave in the next transfer window. Throw in the fact that none of our transfer targets are yet known as the system of approving them has changed and frankly there isn't a single part of your post that is based in fact. I just hope we don't sign simon davis, carlton cole, reto zeigler because if they were really good enough they would have left their clubs for a bigger club already.

Come on guys we aren't getting these world class players, Hodgson doesn't aim that high, clearly. Hazard would rather stay with Lille, Benzema won't join a team that are struggling to hold down a european spot, let alone a champions league place and Gomez has got a first a first team place at Bayern, so hope there is lost. Realistically we are looking at selling Babel, who has failed to impress under Hodgson, Agger will join Inter as Samuel's replacement after a fallout with Hodgson and there is a possibility of Fabio Aurelio leaving again. Jovanovic and Poulsen CANNOT GO IN JANUARY! !
In RH has stated his intentions of signing "5 - 6 new players" in January, so expect:
Oscar Wendt - £4m
Ryan Shawcross - £8m
Blaise Matuidi - £7m
Charles N'Zogbia - £10m
Dimitri Payet - £9m
Hugo Rodallega - £12m
So a total of £50m spent and a total of £25-30m to spend in January, plus the £20m earnt + Aurelio makes £26m. So mid-table is where we are aiming this season, and probably next. Woohoo. .

Sneijder, Robben and Van Der Vaart did not fail at R. Madrid mate. Believe it or not they had to sell them to retrieve some money back from the purchaces of Ronanldo, Kaka, Alonso, Di Maria, Ozil etc. And the 3 dutch men were the ones that could bring in the most money from players which was necessary.
