question for all you Liverpool fans

Do you think loaning out Aquilani is a mistake and would get in the team?
Surely he's better than Henderson and Spearing?

ANd {Ed002's Note - Aquilani does not want to be in England and does not wish to play for Liverpool.}

But surely he is a liverpool player under contract. So would not have an option if he was told to play. As the post above says he is better than most players that we have. I feel that he was never given a decent chance {Ed002's Note - You need to go back through the archives - and he is contracted to AC Milan not Liverpool at the moment. If and when he has played in 25 games his transfer will become permanent with Liverpool being given 7M euros - but it is less than that in reality as Liverpool are contributing to his wages. Don't expect to ever see him at Liverpool again.}

Is Aquilani injured??? haven't seen him play for a few weeks. {Ed002's Note - He was but he is now fit again.}

He shouldn't b the 1 decide look at tevez that's wat shoulda bin done 2 aqualani quality player we lost out on

Thing i dont understand is y we are getting so little for him. despite his immature attitude towards us..(i personally feel of your being paid thousands a week you should do as your contract says)..he is a quality player,bit of a girl when getting tackled but so is suarez.yet he wants to play the game,sorry im goin on a bit now. my point is aqua is a decent player worth at least double and we paid almost treble for what we paid for him {Ed002's Note - Try the archives - this has all been dealt with before.}

His name should be considered a swear word on here and people who keep raking it up should wake up or be banned. Fed up to the teeth with this sort of useless post.

Any news on Peter Odemwingie interesting Liverpool? He seems to be doing well having a hat trick and now a brace. He could help Liverpool out a lot since he's been finding the back of the net lately. Would like to know what you think. Thanks.
-mike {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest. Sorry.}

He's been very good for two seasons now, but surely he's too old at 30 to represent value for money. I guess Bellers would think differently though....

Make good back up if bellers left next season if he's willing to play then id certainly make a punt though let's not get ahead of ourselves, I like Bellamy too tbh

Any chance of Lavezzi coming even if we don't sell Luis Suarez ?

No I don't think so

The chances of any napoli player leaving anytime soon is less than 1%, however suarez to napoli could be a likely deal

Is it true eds that boro have had a bid accepted for shelvey? And if this is true could we move for keita in the summer {Ed001's Note - only thing I have heard about is a loan bid from them, not that it would have any kind of relevance to Keita.}

Even great teams will have the occasional bad day and play poorly. Two thirds through the season, and we've had 2 poor games (spuds away, and Bolton) and a few indifferent games (Mancs away, and Blackburn probably). Many other games, we have not got the points that the performances deserve. We are unbeaten in all cup competitions this season, got to Wembly via a rake of away draws, and in the FA cup quarter finals. All this with alot of new players and a new(ish) manger. Some of the new players have obviously not fully integrated themselves yet into the way Kenny wants them to play, but they will only improve. Taking all of the above into consideration, I'm at a loss to understand how the moaners and wingers still continue to have such a loud voice. 4th place is not far away, and personally I think we will finish the season stronger than we started it. The whole squad and especially kenny deserves more praise for what he has achieved, and anyone who thinks that anyone else could have done better is, in my opinion, wrong. As regards tomorrow, I say go for it - all out attack! Don't give Cardiff a chance to settle and gain in confidence. Suarez and Carroll to start I hope. Nick.

Spot on nick la

Wavertree red

Could not agree more nick, good times atm!

I agree i just hope this support for the squad continues

Well said Nick lad. Some moaning tossers out there.

I was going to say "spot on" but wavertree red beat me to it.

It took Man city's 200 or so million 3 years to win 1 FA Cup & 1 Champions Leage berth. Spurs have not yet won a trophy under Redknapp.

Hey Eds

I was wondering if there has been any enquiry's about us loaning out the likes of Coady and others from the reserves?

Thanks

Marc {Ed002's Note - Not that I ama ware right now.}

Coady is still very young and seems to be developing quite well in our Academy at the moment. I think the introduction of the NextGen series has improved the quality of opposition for Academies across Europe. I think it has been good experience for him to captain our Academy this year. Maybe next season he should see some time on loan.

hello eds.....
is there any interest in Arjein Robben? he looks like he wants a way out of Bayern..... if not who would u think are real possibilities in the summer?? iam sorry eds u must have gotten this a thousand times but by the look of things iam getting very depressed..... {Ed002's Note - There is no interest in Robeen. It is too early to tell what will happen in teh summer but we are aware of ongoing interest in Phillips.}

If we keep goin for championship playas wer Neva gna b a top 4 team

A horrible little man - we must not even look at him. Although it would give Pepe a chance to give him a slap!

Injury prone, trouble causer who is on massive wages and would command a massive transfer fee. Don't want him within one mile of Anfield.

With his loan spell in France going better than many expected, the future of Joe Cole seems open to interpretation, however a move to Aston Villa has once again popped up as a summer possibility.

Alex McCleish was rumoured to be interested in the Englishman's signature in August before Cole completed a season-long loan to Ligue 1 champions Lille.

The 30 year-old has impressed this campaign scoring five goals and making just as many assists in just twenty starts for the side.

Some have speculated that Cole may choose to make his move permanent should Lille make an offer for the midfielder.

However, with interest in his talent now rising once more, a move back to his home country may appeal more to the former Chelsea star.

Villa reportedly launched a £4.5m offer for Cole last summer and while they may not be willing to pay the same fee for the wideman, a bid could be prepared for season's end.

The Birmingham outfit are struggling to recover from the 2011 exits of Stewart Downing and Ashley Young and with summer signing Charles N'Zogbia currently feuding with Alex McCleish, winger reinforcements may be needed.

Another option for Cole is for him to attempt to break back into the Liverpool setup once again next season should Kenny Dalglish wish for him to stay.

The veteran is contracted at Anfield until 2014 but may not fancy his chances in Merseyside, instead preferring a move to Aston Villa where first team football would undoubtedly be easier to come by.

I think he will end up at QPR myself. Hopefully a fee of 3-4 million would do me.

Although I wouldn't let him leave until we know we have secured others in midfield.

Reports have emerged that Liverpool will challenge the likes of Manchester United, AC Milan and Juventus for the signature of Shinji Kagawa who could head for the exit of the Westfalenstadion this summer.

Borussia Dortmund look set to clinch the £13m signature of Borussia Monchengladbach talisman Marco Reus at the end of the current season, meaning that Kagawa will undoubtedly find first team opportunities easier to come by.

The Japanese international won't be keen on seeing himself pushed out of the starting XI much like teammate Lucas Barrios, who has only made several starts this campaign following the inspiring form of Robert Lewandowski.

Kagawa's current contract at the Dortmund side will only have one year remaining on it at the end of this season and if Liverpool make good on their interest, the playmaker might jump at the chance to move to the Premier League.

Regardless of how hard opportunities might be in the future, the 22 year-old has still made 26 starts this season, scoring ten goals and making eight assists in the process.

Kenny Dalglish's side spent over £50m on the midfield and wing trio of Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson last summer but with New England Sports Ventures seemingly keen to invest, funds may once again be available to the side looking to crack their way back into the Champions League.

Borussia Dortmund widened the gap at the top of the Bundesliga on Friday after second-placed 'Gladbach were held at home by Schalke 04 and may just retain their German title, making for a possible power shift in the league.

That being said, £15m-rated Kagawa will still need to play first-team football and if he can't see himself gaining that with likes of Mario Goetze and Marco Reus ahead of him, he may seek to ply his trade elsewhere.

Last one Ed. don't know anything of him. Maybe a player profile on this fella"

Mauricio Isla, David Texeira, Junior Hoilett, Cheik Tiote and Ezequiel Lavezzi look good to sign for Liverpool in the summer.

Dirk Kuyt, Maxi Rodriguez, Alberto Aquilani, Fabio Aurelio and Joe Cole are all set to depart along with Brad Jones and Jay Spearing.

Who says Spearing will be going? Others are obvious.

Despite 2001's £35m signature of Andy Carroll, it's no secret that Liverpool were keeping tabs on several strikers over the course of the January transfer window.

Although the club failed to make a move for any forward, their interest isn't expected to wane this summer and Robert Lewandowski has reportedly been added to the shortlist.

The 23 year-old has made 31 appearances for Borussia Dortmund this season, scoring an impressive 19 goals and making nine assists in the meantime.

The Polish international spent much of last season on the bench playing second fiddle to Lucas Barrios, however the roles have now reversed and Lewandowski has become the main attacking outlet for the Bundesliga side.

The striker may feel as if his chances at Champions League football are more assured at the Westfalenstadion but that hasn't stopped a big-name signing from occurring in the past.

Carroll hasn't impressed at Anfield the way Kenny Dalglish would have wanted and reinforcements are being considered by the club in an effort to improve their attacking record.

Craig Bellamy may have cost the Merseysiders only a matter of millions but the Welshman has undoubtedly proved the most valuable for his money this season.

Lewandowski has also racked up 40 appearances for the Polish national team and netted on 13 of those occasions, despite being only 23.

The hitman would be expected to cost the Premier League side around £15m but if New England Sports Ventures have proven anything since their takeover last year, it's that they are willing to invest in their machine in order for it to succeed, and funds could be readily available.

Taken from net.

Have to say I know nothing about him. Any good?

{Ed002's Note - You really need to use the search function rather than just cutting and pasting all of these articles as we have dealt with all of this in the past. However, Dortmund's Lewandowski has been watched by Liverpool, Rubin Kazan, Spartak Moscow (who are concerned about losing Welliton) and Lille. I very much suspect Bayern Munich would be top of the list with a cheque in hand.}

Apologies Ed for the copying and pasting. I just assumed these would be the transfer stories/rumours you will be getting sent today.

So thought I'd get them over and answered so people can begin commenting.

I know there's the cup final talk but it is a rumours site too.

With the club set to lose out on the signatures of Xherdan Shaqiri and Eden Hazard, Liverpool are once again being linked with a move for Ibrahim Afellay as an alternative wing target.

Shaqiri has agreed to move to Bayern Munich at the end of this season and has reportedly signed a pre-contract agreement with the Bundesliga giants while Hazard has reportedly announced his intentions to move to Tottenham in the summer.

Afellay hasn't exactly found first team appearances easy to come by at the Camp Nou this season but is still a talent in the Primera Division; one which Liverpool are looking to recruit to the Anfield cause.

Despite signing Stewart Downing for a fee of around £20m over the summer transfer window, Kenny Dalglish is still hoping to sign further reinforcements for the position in 2012.

Alberto Aquilani, Maxi Rodriguez and Dirk Kuyt have all been associated with exits from the Merseyside outfit and their sales could go a long way towards freeing up cash and squad space for an Afellay transfer.

The 25 year-old has only made two appearances for Barça this season and although this is largely down to injury, he may be tempted by the move away as he searches for more first team football.

If a move does come about, Pep Guardiola is reportedly looking for a fee of £12m for his Dutch international, something New England Sports Ventures may be willing to part with after showing their commitment to spending in the past.

He'd be a brilliant buy for the reds. Hope we sign him. He's quick, skilful and fits clubs policy.

{Ed002's Note - I suspect that with Affelay out injured pretty much all of this season it is unlikely that Liverpool would take a chance on him.}

Affelay is on the mend. He has been training but not with the squad. From what I have heard if all goes well this will be stepped up over the next month or so. Barca are hoping he can return to first team action before the season is over. He has not ruled out being part of the Dutch squad for the Euros

After failing to make an impression at Anfield, Alberto Aquilani looks like one of the faces that will be heading for the club's exit in 2012, and could leave in a part exchange deal.

The 27 year-old moved to Merseyside in 2009 but has played barely 12 months of football in England, spending last season on loan at Juventus.

Now, Aquilani is enjoying a similar spell at AC Milan and could be joining a fourth Italian side this summer if his proposed sale goals through.

The new deal is for a Napoli talisman but not Edinson Cavani as many have been speculating over the past two months.

Instead, the offer would include Liverpool paying around £20m cash with Aquilani exchanging places with Napoli playmaker, Marek Hamsik.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to clubs such as Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea but thus far he has failed to complete a move away from Naples as many had prophesised.

Hamsik has made 25 starts for the Serie A outfit this campaign, scoring eight goals and registering six assists.

Kenny Dalglish may have spent over £50m on midfield talent last summer but the Scot is keen to add more creative flair to his offensive line.

Steven Gerrard missed the majority of 2011 through injury and despite the England international making his longest streak in play this season, a more long-term option may be necessary as an alternative.

Aquilani came to England for a fee of around £17m and his value may have dropped but sides are reportedly still willing to pay around £12m for the midfielder.

The Italian has been restricted by injuries this term but is expected to be fit by the end of this month and could be keen on a permanent move back to his native Italy.

Can't see this one, but I'd take it if we could.

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - Whoever wrote it does not know of the existing agreement over Aquilani. I would ignore this.}

25 Feb 2012 10:07:50

After a winter window full of speculation, Liverpool look set to build on their January interest in the player and will make a summer move for Christian Eriksen.

The Ajax midfielder has been on the radar of Europe's elite for the past couple of seasons with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid and AC Milan all showing considerable interest in acquiring his signature.

Eriksen has made a huge impact at the Amsterdam Arena since making his professional debut as a 17 year-old in 2010.

The youngster had trials at Milan, Barcelona and Chelsea as a youth before deciding on a move to Ajax.

Eriksen stated that he felt such a big move would not help his development as much as staying in Holland but the time may now be right for a move abroad.

Liverpool spent over £50m on midfielders in the summer of 2011 but it seems as if just 12 months later, the Reds are looking to splurge once again after the likes of Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam have failed to fill in as playmaker the way Kenny Dalglish would have wanted.

Eriksen has made 28 starts for de Godenzonen this season, scoring six gaols and making 13 assists in the process.

In total, the 19 year-old has now featured for the Eredivisie outfit more than 90 times despite his young age.

Should the Merseysiders complete a deal to bring Eriksen to Anfield, the transfer would be expected to cost Liverpool around £23m in what could represent a great coup for the club.

Wouldn't be the weekend Ed without an Eriksen story. Still don't think well get him though.

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - Much will depend on Champions League qualification and where priorities rest for players coming in, and indeed, who leaves. Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and AC Milan have shown an interest in Eriksen. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club. Back in mid July someone from the Milan Press Office told me he had heard of interest from Manchester United and that may well be the case. The player has expressed an interest to move to Spain.}

Ha haaa dream on, no chance what so ever! You keep posting all these players that are joining lfc, maybe just maybe in the 80's but not now, just an average team to the new generation of football fans!

It looks increasingly likely that Lukas Podolski will complete a protracted move away from Cologne this summer after publicly announcing his disappointment with some of the club's transfer policies.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have all been rumoured to be interested in the German international, whose contract with the Bundesliga outfit runs out next summer.

Podolski is quote by ESPN as saying:

"I was told that a team would be built around me so that we could establish outrselves first in the top eight and then in the top six, I had lots of promises made to me before my move here and I wanted to play my part in achieving these things together."

He added: When you see what perspectives were shown to me and what has actually happened in the end, it is disappointing."

These comments only point to the conclusion that the attacker will leave the German club in the summer with interest in his signature still understood to be high.

The 26 year-old may be keen on the move too, with Cologne's form appearing to drop off in the second half of the season.

Podolski has made twenty appearances for Cologne this season, scoring 15 goals and making seven assists in the process, however many see that the talisman is carrying his side to some degree.

Arsenal are understood to be looking for attackers with Andrey Arshavin and Marouane Chamakh both expected to head for the Emirates Stadium exit in 2012.

Arsene Wenger is currently looking to retain a top four finish and whether he does or doesn't at the end of the current season, the Frenchman will be expected to make purchases this summer.

Podolski would be expected to command an asking price of around £8m, some £8m more than Cologne paid for his services in 2009.

Real Madrid playmaker drawing Manchester United interest
February 20, 2012   ·   1 Comments

After missing out on the starlet's signature in 2011, it has emerged that Manchester United could make a renewed bid for Nuri Sahin.

The 23 year-old was being chased by the Red Devils last summer but the Turkish international ultimately opted for a move to Real Madrid, signing a six-year contract with the Spanish giants.

The length of the contract makes the task of prising Sahin away from Los Blancos a difficult one but Sir Alex Ferguson has pulled off feats of the same magnitude in the past.

Sahin hasn't had the biggest opportunity to prove himself this season, making only five appearances since making a return from injury in September.

Manchester United will undoubtedly look at the midfielder's performances during his time at Borussia Dortmund however, and feel that Sahin could shine at Old Trafford.

In 152 appearances at the Westfalenstadion, Sahin scored on 17 occasions as well as making 36 assists.

It's common knowledge that centre midfield is an area of the pitch in need of attention for Manchester United and although the need is lessened by the return of Tom Cleverley to fitness, reinforcements are expected to be brought in at the end of this season.

Paul Scholes was brought of retirement earlier this campaign in order to ease the selection woes of Sir Alex Ferguson but it's unknown if the club veteran will return to duties next season.

Should United complete a deal to bring Sahin to the Premier League, it would be expected to cost the club around £15m; some £5m more than he moved to Real Madrid for.

The squad at the Madrid club means that Jose Mourinho has a plethora of superstars to choose from, and although the Portuguese boss is known to be a fan of Sahin, the premise of more first team football may tempt the playmaker.

Taken from the net.

Decent player could be a decent buy if we are interested and they allow him to leave.

Liverpool join race to sign world class youth
February 20, 2012   ·   0 Comments

In addition to the already long list of suitors being mentioned with a move for the youngster, Liverpool are now ready to make their approach for Mateo Kovacic.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona are all reportedly interested in acquiring the services of the Croatian starlet, although he is yet to complete a transfer away from his homeland.

Sources have suggested that Barcelona offered a sum well below Zagreb's estimation of the player in the summer, but were apparently ready to sign Kovacic on an eight-year contract, for the first two of which he would be loaned back to the Croatian outfit.

Sir Alex Ferguson's United are also known to have made official enquiries for the playmaker but the boardroom are reportedly unwilling to shell out the £10m valuation for a player who is untested in a league like the English top flight.

The 17 year-old has made 17 starts for Dinamo Zagreb this season, scoring five goals and making three assists in the process.

Kovacic has also made four appearances for the Croatian Under-21 side and despite his age, is an outside bet to go with the senior side to Euro 2012.

With the contract of Kovacic at Dinamo Zagreb set to expire this summer, the starlet isn't expected to be plying his trade in his native country next season.

Although he won't command a 'transfer fee' as such, the sale of Kovacic still won't be a straightforward case with the formalities of agent fees, contract clauses and signing-on fees still to be settled.

This transfer story will be covered extensively in coming months and although Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson were brought in for a combined total of £30m last summer, Mateo Kovacic is another central star that could make his way to Anfield at the end of the current campaign.

Kenny Dalglish has had to contend with the absence of Steven Gerrard on a near-constant basis during the last year at Merseyside, and with injuries becoming a frequent issue for the homegrown superstar, midfield cover will be necessary at Liverpool.

Taken from net today.

Do you know anything about this player Ed?

Jonesred {Ed001's Note - only that he is hot property, never actually seen him play that I know of.}

Cheers Ed

Would be good if we got him for a nominal fee. It says there could be complications with his contract situation, but it expires this summer.

Is this something like a third party issue.

Hopefully Comolli can persuade him Anfield s ye place for him.

Can we get a player profile on this player Ed?

hey eds

i remember a while back that one of you guys said sth about shelvey possibly having a bit of an attitude regarding not playing regularly and do i take that you guys are right by liverpool selling him to boro?? {Ed001's Note - he just wants to play, Boro will give him the chance.}

It is a loan, he isn't going to be sold.

BthekingB {Ed001's Note - ooops, well spotted, I didn't notice the selling bit when I edited it or I would have pointed out it was a loan.}

Just to clarify ed,is jonjo shelvey likely to leave? if so would it be a sale or a loan?
cheers eds
widnes-bulford ozy {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware it is just a loan. Kenny was the man who picked him as a signing, Kenny is the one who rates him highly, I really can't see him letting him go yet.}

Itll be from monday if at all
LeeWils

What was the point in bringing him back from Blackpool then? I thought that was to cover Lucas for the rest of the season, but if he's going back out on loan a few months later, wasn't that just a waste of time? {Ed001's Note - not really, he came back and covered while Jay and Lucas were both out and now he has gone to a club with a far more professional training set up and that play excellent passing football. They are also a club with less options in the attacking third and so can guarantee him first team football, whereas Blackpool have a lot of forward thinking players and he might have been benched.}

Really bad news, honest opinion it should be Henderson going on loan. All the lad does is man mark the referee and shy's away from the ball! At least shelved had a bit of go about him and was happy to try and influence a game!! Just my opinion..

Shelvey should stop having twitter arguements with people telling them how he paid their families debt of £1500. He needs to focus on his football!

Don't worry. It's only a loan. And not until after the carling cup. It'll be good experience for him. He's only 19.
