Ed,
Is there any serious interest in Gerard Deulofeu ?
thanks
Thes - YNWA {Ed001's Note - lots.}

ED, are you being serious or cynical? Is he likely to come? {Ed001's Note - I was asked if there was interest, there is lots of interest in him, I wasn't meaning we have lots of interest, I was meaning there are a lot of clubs interested.}

Can you see him leaving barca ed01? {Ed001's Note - not really, not yet. I expect him to try and get a place in the team there next season.}

Ed from Liverpool? {Ed001's Note - yes, I believe we are interested, if he becomes available for a permanent move.}

25 Jul 2012 21:01:40
Ed could you clarify if we are looking to buy Allen outright or send a player on loan to them as part of the deal as some rumours suggest?

Sj {Ed001's Note - I think both routes are being explored.}

I hope we let shelvey go on loan, and give em spearing

25 Jul 2012 20:29:58
Eds is it true we've agreed personal terms for Didac from Espanyol? Good youn left back can also play centre half. My friend from Spain said its a done deal? {Ed001's Note - the only Didac I know is an AC Milan player, is he the same guy?}

Ya ed he is he moved to milan last year and has been linked with a move to valencia if they dont get their main target siquiera! {Ed001's Note - I looked him up after, I see they loaned him to Espanyol, which explained it. I haven't heard any link of him to us.}

Its the same guy, on loan at espanyol last season

25 Jul 2012 20:26:59
Anythin on NAGAMOTO from inter Eds? He's very versatile play either side full back an wing :D {Ed001's Note - nothing that I know of.}

25 Jul 2012 21:09:56
Rumours that Suarez has agreed personal terms with Juventus before the Olympic training. Ed's do you think he will move? {Ed001's Note - we have answered this question until we are blue in the face. I really don't see the point in answering it any more.}

Suarez is under contract to Liverpool.
Unsigned nonsense again!!
If I was an ED I wouldn't post unsigned repetitive nonsense!
kidmillions

The club don't want to sale. they not make any offer yet how the player done personal trems. where do u find this story. name me a site that write that story.

r-r

Martin Olsson will sign after the tour for around 6mil with spearing going the other way for season with option to buy! From a good source in Blackburn :)

Would it not be better to sign him now, if the rumour is genuine, and bed him into the squad?

God help us

Low cost cover for Enrique, nothing more I'd suspect.

I've been worried about Enrique for while - most one-footed pro I've ever seen! And Roma was his nadir!

25 Jul 2012 20:31:40
Ed001 are we still keeping an eye on max Clayton? He's defo worth getting soon I think.

Square tomato {Ed001's Note - yes, I would expect him to get scouted throughout next season, with Crewe stepping up a level.}

Awesome cheers ed.

Square tomato

He's class mate, I live in Crewe and have watched some their games this season, think he has the potential to be better than Powell over all. Powell sometimes over plays the ball and makes a silly mistake. With Powell leaving I expect to see him get a lot more games next season, one to watch. Seems a nice lad too. {Ed001's Note - they have a couple of other kids to come up as well, Wilson and Colclough have potential.}

25 Jul 2012 20:23:56
Any chance in Scott Dann Eds? He's still only 25 and is a lpool fan really rate him could cover carras role. Carra will be a coach one day! {Ed001's Note - we have shown no interest.}

Stoke or Southampton I'm told

Why would we buy a player that s been relegated 2 seasons running ?!

Cover Carra's role on the bench? Bit odd. Also, Dann would be behind at least 5 players for CD role. Because he's v average. Not having Roger Johnson alongside him last season showed him up.

Hope not, he is no were near the level of play who should even support liverpool never mind play for them.

Dann is a good championship player. No better.

pompey red

Oh dear, looks like I'd better stop supporting Liverpool then - I'm a crap player.

This is from a very good source that Alonso is playing his last year at real madrid and will be back to us then....lets hope he has still got it

I highly doubt it :/ I think we all wish though, cracking player, Liverpool went downhill after he left, theres always hope though! YNWA

Utter, complete, without foundation, garbage.

While I thought Alonso was GREAT if he left Real at the end of the season he'd be closing in on 33 when he joined us and under FSG I just couldn't see that happening even on a free transfer.Remember his wages alone would be massive.

He'd be almost 32 by that time. Let Xabi go, people.

Nothing against Alonso, he was absolutely tremedous for us, but under Rodgers as a club we are meant to be moving forward ...even though a declining Alonso would be better then half the dross we currently have on our books, but still it isn't going to happen, and if it does, FSG will have certainly proven they have absolutely NO idea! (as contradictory as this may seem)

Although I don't believe this post, I'd welcome Alonso back next year or even the year after. Since pace has never been a part of his game I can imagine Alonso to keep going into his mid 30's at least.

Real Madrid made a cheeky inquiry to Steven Gerrards agent. Steven laughed it off. Spoke to Keith Duffy today, a good friend of Steven.

A cheeky bid? Why was it cheeky?
Did they put on a funny voice?

Rob

I don't find this so unbelievable although I know it's probably a load of codswallop. I bet teams make enquiries all the time. Gerrard is world class. Why wouldn't they have a punt to take him for a year or two to shackle Barce's midfield - especially when Spuds are playing hardball with Modric!

RobbehLFC

I heard they wrote the inquiry on their buttocks with a felt-tip and mooned it through skype.

Yes off course he laughed it off thats what all players do when Real Madrid come calling isnt it! i doubt it really

Swansea City have released a statement responding to speculation over midfielder Joe Allen

A Swansea City spokesman said: "Swansea City can confirm that Liverpool have expressed an interest in Joe Allen, despite a written agreement with Liverpool not to approach any players within the 12-month period of former manager Brendan Rodgers leaving for Anfield.

"There has also been interest from other clubs regarding his possible availability and the club is due to speak to Joe, as originally planned, about the situation when he returns from GB duty.

"The club is not prepared to release any details on whether any formal bids have been made at this stage or details of Joe's contract, which are private and confidential. The club is extremely disappointed that speculation regarding certain aspects of his contract have been released to the media by parties outside the club.

"Fortunately the club is in a financial position where it does not need to sell any of its players and will continue to work in the best interests of its supporters, who are our priority, and the club to provide new manager Michael Laudrup with the best opportunity to be successful in the forthcoming Premier League campaign."

It would seem that now Swansea, as well as Fulham following the Dempsey 'announcement' on the NESV website, are far from happy with the way we are conducting ourselves.

Red 'til I'm Dead

No! Just trying to get more money out of the inevitable deal

Its below the belt if true about the 12 month clause and lfc still try and approach. We won't be able to afford his wages in any case going by the sigg non signing. He will end up at tot.

Allen's contract rumor is interesting. It sounds like maybe he had a clause allowing him to go to a 'top 5' team, of which we might have been included it as we were one at the time he signed. Tottenham was not, and supposedly bid £10M for him. I think (much speculation here) that perhaps Swansea is so PO'd because we're trying to activate his out clause for less than Tottenham's offer was. Or maybe it's all just a bunch of twitter BS.

Either way, agreed with you that we do seem to have greatly annoyed two clubs we're trying to do business with which isn't likely to be good for our reputation.

We aren't approaching the player, we're approaching the club. Anyways, £15m and they have no choice. Semantics and Machiavellian s*** yo.

As the article says, they don't need to sell him, so if they do, it is because either they want the money or the player wants to go. So, big deal, this statement is PR to keep their fans happy. Thats the way of the world, don't lose any sleep for swansea.

It would have been his agent that released info to the press I reckon .

EdWood

Botherd these clubs need to remember that LIVERPOOL FC is an institution !

NO club will be happy to hear another club wants one of its better players.Now my understanding is that Liverpool wouldn't approach a Swansea player UNLESS another club expressed an interest.Swansea's own statement clearly says that other clubs are interested so they really can't complain can they?

Ok you a bigger club than the swans but rogers is signing the wrong player for you joe ALLEN IS NEVER WORTH 15 MILLION AM A SWANS Fan i hope for your sake he got opsion 2 goes thr way he plays only 1 option he can play good luck 2 you

First Fulham, then Swansea, who can we upset next week ? All seems to have gone quiet on Dempsey front, will Allen situation go same way ?

Real class exactly as I would expect

15 million is 10 million too much. Bad decision this.

First Fulham, then Swansea, who can we upset next week ?
===========================

We should put a bid of 1m for Rooney

Roy

Hilarious statement which basically says Liverpool have bid for a player despite an agreement not worth the paper it was written on. They've met his release clause. Please some-one else bid more.

Actually on second reading, it reads Liverpool have bid close to the release clause, so if you want to compete for Joe please meet the release clause, which of course, the details of which we are very disappointed have been releaed to the press.

West Ham preparing 18 million pound bid for Carroll. Nolan may play a part in persuading Andy.
TheDarkKnight

Thedarkknight, haha someone was watching too much batman xD. Ill believe it when i see it because i don't see andy going down to WHU when he could surely hold out on a move for Newcastle.

And which Nolan told you that?
Christopher Nolan?

LiverBird

West ham could neva afford that

This is true he will be a west ham player

ste

I really doubt that the Hammers have £18 million to spend and plainly that sum is still less than Liverpool are prepared to accept anyway so Nolan is irrelevant.

It's true and it was rejected, they will up it to 20m and he'll be offto them unless Newcastle match it.

Man, I used the "TheDarkKnight" username months ago. I'm not sure if the poster copied my username or not. But I definitely used it first on this website before anyone else. Just sayin'.

They avent got 18 million to spend there whole squad isnt even worth 18 million

£18m would be fine in my opinion with a 10% sell on clause if either West ham or Newcastle sell in the future.

Whats he say? Andy sign for WHU, your guaranteed to win fk all, plus after next season we will be in the championship! AC an England international mate, that would be a massive step down for him.

Hi eds what do you see as the latest with Andy Carroll?

Mighty reds {Ed001's Note - no latest that I know of, there is no offer that matches our valuation.}

Why is rogers going for allen swans must be laughing at us 15 million omg

We should keep carroll for at least another year the guy is a beast in the air he wins everything he will come good i think he just needs a chance!

Carrols agent is the same agent for Allerdyce and also Nolan, The hammers have the money! {Ed001's Note - the Hammers are in huge debt, they don't have the money. A big signing will entail either a large increase in debt or the porn barons putting their hands in their pockets and funding the deal. But West Ham themselves do not have the money.}

I heard we have offered £12M for Alan, not including Shelvey.

Any truth in this Ed?

Rob {Ed001's Note - no idea, sorry. We have made an offer, the amount doesn't really matter does it?}

They have enquired i can confirm, as he has a bit in his contract that should the top 5 clubs approach with £15M he can leave. after the olympics this will be done.

The recent statement from swansea criticises Rodger's approach as a breach of agreement. Clearly they will not let Allen go cheaply and we may be forced to pay over the odds yet again. I think this is why the amount may be important. Specially when we do not have much to spend. {Ed001's Note - and you know how much we have to spend then? No, I thought not, so the amount is irrelevant to you!}

How does the amount not matter ed? i mean considering the amount we spent on other players that lets just say didn't turn out too well..., wouldn't we want value for money? {Ed001's Note - how does that matter to you? Are you going to be able to make a decision on whether the amount is too much or not? Do you know what is value for money? Clearly not, because you have decided players don't offer value for money after one season! It took Rush 3 seasons just to score his first goal for us! How about you try backing our players, instead of whining about them?}

No Ed the amount doesn't matter you're right. Just interested

Rob {Ed001's Note - sorry I can't help. The figures that get bandied round are misleading. Some will include some possible future fees, others will include agent fees, some will factor in signing fees and wages too. It makes very difficult to get an accurate figure until after the event.}

But the Shelvey loan bit is important - he's probably been our best player on the tour.....

25 Jul 2012 18:07:56
Rumours here in South Africa that Saurez is going to Juventus and this will finance a deal for Higuian .....what u say Eds , any truth in this ? {Ed001's Note - Higuain wants Champions League football, I would love him though.}

Yeah we heard it too but then it was in Europe, i think in 2 weeks the rumour will drift from SA to south poles.

Total rubbish

Little chance of Suarez leaving and NO chance of Higuain joining us if Luis did leave.

If the rumours are coming from south Africa then it must be true!........my word.

Suarez is not going anywhere

Agreed, total rubbish! ...if this eventuates it only proves FSG and Rodgers have TOTALLY no idea!!

Why is everyone reading so much into suarez leaving lfc,hes going nowhere,why leave epl to go play in one of the most boring leagues on the planet!

25 Jul 2012 17:22:05
So Fabio Borini has signed....Next expect Joe Allen followed by Clint Dempsey. Enquiries have gone in for both Aidan McGeady and James McClean. Only expect one to go through.

Craig Bellamy, Alberto Aquliani will leave along with 1-2 others. Possibility loan deals not sure.

Source: rumours in Boston (I'm here with a friend)

The Aidan McGeady rumour is harder to kill than Count Dracula.We've heard if for 3 years now and he still isn't good enough to play for us!

I'll believe u mate but got a funny feelin Dempsey won't sign as he's over the fsg age limit

I know Liverpool will play Roma tonight, MARK MY WORDS (source: Sweden, drinkin' beer, all alone) Lol

I watched him for celtic and for ireland and i don't understand why anyone really rates this guy. one of the most overrated wingers in the world. he is cr..p. he is quick yes and can beat a man but then he has to try and do it again. he only has one foot and absolutely no end product. his shooting is woeful. when i found out he was scottish i was ragin. they can keep him.
derryred

You are obviously Irish. Rodgers won't touch off McGeady. Far too much dallying on the ball and not enough end product.

What is it with the Irish and our club and wanting these donkeys to play for us?

Some irish have been our best players in the history of our club. i dont think dempseys age will have anything to do with the deal as he is american and im sure FSG would like some american player in the club

25 Jul 2012 16:38:44
andy carroll to west ham...? according to david sullivan's son, jack, who's banging on about it on twitter, maybe.

these are his exact words from twitter
"Dad is working on the biggest signing in the history of the club. TWICE as big as anything as the club have done before"

"By big I mean expensive - We WILL know in the next 7 days!"

they're saying £18m. metro newspaper also running this. WHU previous record signing was Savio Nserenko, signed by zola for £9m.

i know, i know...it's on twitter and in metro but it could have some legs on it....

what do you think about it guys?
18mil...i'd take it, in one installment, and go invest in someone who's really gonna fit into BR's plans

sinner21

Bite their hand off

I'd take £18mil off west ham even if Newcastle offered £20mil.
Red sheep.

If it's on Twitter and in the Metro of course it's true.NOT!

And what happens when plan "A" fails because teams like Stoke and Villa camp their players in their own half and we can't break them down, where is plan "B", oh we sold him.

Any day of the week.

Craig Bellamy was WHU biggest transfer, not Savio. Moose on talksport had been banging on all day about this too. Maybe Nolan can persuade Carroll to move?

Gav the Red

I would not have thought that the hammers were Andy's idea of a club he would want to play for. I think he will stay and if he has made no impression by Jan,possibly move on then if the right offer came in.
CR

Must be after Crouch so.

...I'll get my coat.

-Shane.

If the hammers are gonna offer 18mill up front I'd take it,Andy is fat head sams type of player & we are well aware of his longball tactics.....Rodders

If that's a true story I think it'd be a good deal. Take the 18 mil and end this story before it becomes a saga.

If u was AC would u wanna play for west ham?...lol

You can have a 'big man' up top(as plan b) who is technically sound you know guys. Carroll doesn't have the skills required.

I wouldnt take 18 mill for carroll, well i would if the player we bought was class and wasnt some underachieving english player. tbh id rather just use our youth team and keep the money until we are more attractive for bigger players

Red sheep is right take 18m of west ham instead of 20m of newcastle that newcastle r getting a bit cocky r should i say cockney lets sell to the real cockneys.tommy Irish red.

Tommy Irish Red. In what way are Newcastle getting cocky ? .I have not seen one of their fans ever write that they are gonna win the league or sign the top players or even finish top 4. Their biggest wish is a top 6 euro spot or mid table and a cup .They mostly freely acknowledge that Liverpool is a huge club with great history and that Ashley mugged you over Carroll. That said on what planet would newcastle be to pay £20m for AC with his poor form and goal return?or any club for that matter. Don't forget you got Enrique from the Toon for very little after he had been unsettled and stand to make money on him I would imagine. Making a cheeky bid to loan a player buck clearly doesn't want ,no matter what he says is not cocky it's just business.If you want to pass judgement look to your own clubs attempt to take swansea players after promising not to for a year ,now that is cocky .

Newcastle will never win anything even with players like cisse and ba.. but they are becoming a good team.. liverpool shud not give them carroll no matter what.. we need to give him another season and play his type of football otherwise liverpool would never be the club they where back in the day.. unless some serius chances are made!!

Hello Ed002,
is it possible to sell Carroll back to Newcastle and get Krul in the process? If Reina wants out we need a good keeper. Who do you think Rodgers is thinking about? thank you. {Ed002's Note - I have no knowledge of interest in Krul from Liverpool.}

After Pardew's latest comments I hope we don't sell Carroll to Newcastle - I hope we don't sell him at all. We're becoming a laughing stock. Come out now and say that he's staying and playing for the shirt.

I'm hoping one of the papers can link us with Ronaldo, Messi, Cavani, Kaka, Iniesta, etc. so I can stop listening to all of these negative persons on this site moan about not getting a certain player and not spending hundreds of millions of dollars on players. The negativity on here is baffling at times. Let's let the owners and BR make the decisions - they have stabilized an historic club

Reina does not want out. Where do you get these crazy ideas from. Just negative thinking.
CR

Rumour is that West Ham are going to spend 18mill on someone.Mmmmm I wonder.

I wouldn't do business with newcastle. One good season and he gets all smug. He has no business talking about our player. Why do you want our striker if you've got "3" good strikers? Go wipe your nose ad look elsewhere.
Red sheep.

Pardew should keep his comments about our player to himself and do his business in private! I thought we'd got rid of this type of public player transfers and comments, when Spurs got rid of Redknap.

So keep quite Pardew and try being a little more professional!

LloydyRed4Life

For me, I know it's a lot of hypotheticals and not real likely to pan out, but I think having £20-25M in hand plus Krul would be of greater value to the club than having Carroll and Reina. My opinion, anyway...

You are not going to get one of Newcastle majors players thrown into the deal for Carrol. Be lucky to get £15 million for him. Also why would Krul leave Newcastle for Liverpool?

I agree last week he said it had nothing to do with him it was between the pie man and Liverpool. He should be quiet we don't talk about his players he needs to show some class. I'd rather give him to west ham than sell him to Newcastle after that outburst.

All he said is and I quote " if Liverpool want to part ways with andy carroll they will have to accept a loss " which to me is the truth he has just stated a fact.

Pardew only made a generalised statement re Carrolls situation. Typically this was done to a local station and MAGNIFIED by the nationals. Let's all untwist our knickers.

You lot need to have a word with yourselves . He only stated the obvious.

Hi eds read on sly sports rodgers interested in Dorus de Vries. Any truth in it eds? {Ed001's Note - he is one of a number of options being considered for the keeper position. It is a maybe move, but certainly Wolves have been asked if they would consider selling him and what sort of money it would take. No more than that though.}

So are you saying there is a chance pepe will leave?

Would this be to fill pepes position? Or Doni?

Assuming we do have to replace Pepe, why on earth would we be looking at the BACKUP choice at wolves? is a second choice keeper from a lower-table club any better than Doni or Brad, and do we really have that little money going that we couldnt afford a keeper that would make the starting 11 in other teams?

Blimey talk about panic mongers. He would be back up for Pepe in case of injury.
CR {Ed001's Note - maybe I should have made it plain that it would be as a back up!}

No,dont be signing a goalie with a name like doris,i can just hear it now

25 Jul 2012 14:00:16
Apparently we've offered William Mclaren a three year deal Eds? (in the last half an hour I believe) {Ed002's Note - Jolly good.}

The lad doesn't look that great just that he's playing against absolute rubbish

Really cant see this tbh

Bill Mclaren? Don't know what he's like at footie but his rugby commentary was second to none.

Not last half hour , old news.
CR

25 Jul 2012 13:10:29
We have asked about the possibility of signing Sessegnon but Sunderland will only play ball at mega prices. Non starter as things stand.

This is a a very good player indeed as is dembelle ( spelling) both superior to Sig.

As its us bidding though expect a £20m price tag on each.

Hell Yeah! And since they sold us Henderson for 20 Mil, they would want 100 Mil for Sessegnon.

25 Jul 2012 13:04:03
Pepe Reina is leaving the club this summer. Michel Vorm is his replacement.

RedMist

Hope not! and who's Michel Vorm?

Oh God. Here we go.

Kev.

Wind up merchant. Haha.

MarkB.

Way too many teletext fans on here. 1st reply- hope not. Who's michel vorm? Go back to FIFA and find out who he is.

Have the schools broken up yet?

Your having a laft what next ?

No he isn't

School summer holidays hey

Oh Jesus here we go again! Bugger me we're gonna sign Swansea's keeper along with every other player on their books.He's actually older than Pepe so that's no recommendation and judging by the quoted price for Allen he'd cost us more than we get for selling Pepe.I give this rumour no stars out of ten!

For those who don't no Michel Vorm -Swansea keeper and one of the best in the EPL in my opinion and yeah I'd have him over Reina anyday

I like Vorm a lot and thought he was brilliant for Swansea last season. My opinion is he's a better shot stopper than Reina and certainly faster off the line, but he is not as good at distribution.

Frankly, I think Reina is pretty average at being a stopping goals, but when it comes to distribution of the ball from the back I can't think of many (if any!) better at that.

My opinion anyway...
RDL

Reina is one of the best keepers in the world! Why would you have Vorm over him any day? Pepe's distribution is second to none and his shot stopping isn't half bad either. Vorm has had one good season in the prem and isn't anywhere near Pepe's level. Why are people wishing are best players away? I thought we are supports of the team!

I wouldn't take him over Reina (unless we're only using last season as an example) but Vorm is solid and I liked him. I think keeper is a pretty deep position worldwide so Liverpool could find someone suitable in the event Pepe decided to leave.

That's because Pepe doesn't fit in BR's system.

Esbee

Pepe hasn't been at his best for the past 2 seasons, but he's still a safe pair of hands.

If he goes, he goes, no one is bigger than the club simple as that.

Gaz1975.

If you want lads take the whole swans team i think they will do a better job for you

Hi all. As a Liverpool fan from Slovakia I'd like to pass a rumour on and that is : Skrtel will move away from LFC. Info is coming from Martin's cousin who lives near Handlova where Martin Skrtel is from....But did not say to which club.I just hope it will not be City!.

I don't care as far as we get 20M for him... I doubt that next season will be as good as it was his last. :)

I've heard it all now.

Bs...yea,from martin's cousin good story bro..

What are liverpool trying to buy the swansea team ?? next they will want our stadium !!

He just payed about 30,000 on a new kitchen think he will stay he's doing his house up now so think he's staying don't think he will spend a lot to sell

Good,i remember him when he was crap,like most of the seasons before last one

Why does it matter if he goes to city?liverpool are no longer in competition wit city and the top teams.theyre a mid table club for the time being.lets see wat rodgers can do

25 Jul 2012 11:51:06
Liverpool agree 13.5 million deal for Allen according to Sports.com Hopefully this is true and we can concentrate our efforts on Dempsey.

Forget Dempsey, Pacheco has shown signs of his potential against Toronto with his mature display + excellent understanding with Enrique. He is still only 21, can't wait to see him play against an experienced side like Roma tonight.

STB

Smells just like Dalglish this deal. ONE half decent season and we are gonna pay well over the odds ie Carroll,Henderson.

Thats such alot of money for somebody iv never really heard of. No dissrespect

People still expect the 10-15M players to be a world beater. At 10-15M your buying average- good players or players with potential.

To compete at the top end of the market your looking at 30 to 40M plus. Look at the Lad from Brazil Man U are rumoured to be buying at nearly 40m, he is only 19 and never kicked a ball in Europe never mind the EPL.

Liverpool just to have the fiancal resources for this kind of buy at the moment. Hence our investment in younger players as a general rule

Doesnt anyone thing this is a mistake. Rodgers is doing exactly what Hodgeson did, in bringing in players he's worked with in the past (konchesky, poulson) Rodgers bringing Swansea players to try and improve liverpool is the wrong idea. Liverpool should be buying internationals from countries like spain, portugal, italy, germany and holland.

Theres no pleasing some people eh! grrrr

If you have never heard of him I would suggest to you that, that hints you do not know a great deal about football; rather than the issue having anything to do with the player's actual ability.

Some of these responses are crazy. How is this anything like what Dalglish or Hodgson. Hodgson brought in some ageing players that everyone knew wernt good enough. And dalglish hadn't managed a team for years. Rodgers worked with this kid last year, and knows he will be perfect for his style of play. Give him a chance. If we was from Brazil everyone would be raving and saying it was a bargain.

Haha, Hodgson deal? The fact you compare Joe Allen to Konchesky and Poulsen shows how little you know about football, not to mention the fact you didn't even spell most of the names right. Have you ever seen him play? One stat that might tell you something about why he's so highly rated is he was the 6th most accurate passer in Europe last year. He plays in a central midfield role in the Premier League at 22 years old. He has a release clause that only allows him to leave for Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. That alone show's how highly rated he is.

Joe Allen is real quality. He will bring all the qualities we need to our midfield. Passing, vision, fight. Why is everyone so mad about cost? If he improves the team we are a step closer to competing for top 4. Sparky mark (not Hughes)

Joe Allen is a great young player and could finally be the replacement for Alonso we have desperately needed. Make no mistake this guy is class and can really pull the strings in midfield. Just what we need in truth. So, all you 10 yr old muppets who would buy Villa, Muniain etc for silly money because they are good on FIFA need to wake up, either get a clue or get lost.

Sports.com says nothing about this deal..and anybody who doesn't rate allen is thick plane and simple..YagEraDetinu

Not that he is not good but british players are always over priced and many over rated.Built up by the press just to be knocked down again.Not saying this is the case with allen but more often than not I'm afraid it is

Joe Allen was the 6th best passer in Europe last season. Nearly 91% pass completion, not even our beloved Xabi Alonso came close. For a lad of 22, I think he'll prove to be a great deal.

I'm guessing you've never seen him play. Watch the Olympics and learn.
Red sheep.

Allen is wales best player by far. i should know i'm welsh.

you all should of learnt your lesson by now dont judge a book by its cover.
b

Really you have never heard of Allen? Then contiue to not watch a meaningful game a get off this site so real fans can post. Fantastic young talent. After seeing the ridiculous fees that are paid anymore is 13-15million really that expensive? Get a clue you dope!

1 year in the prem,4 goals 2 assists hmmmmm bit of a risk 4 me.

When we did sign the best young player from brazil we slagged him for 2 years! Have we not learned from what happened with Lucas? Now one of our best players joe Allen is a gem of a player with surprising maturity in his play for such a young lad encourage or condemn the choice is yours I know what I'm doing & he will not walk alone!........jft96 paisley's genius

Totally agree with the third post, 10-15 mil is not a lot of money in today's market, it's just we get suckered in when we try to buy and sell, think if we sign joe Allen he will be immense for us, remember guys to give Brendan and new players whoever they are time cos this is the third season in a row with a new manager so for us to progress we need to find that bit of stability and patience

Watched this guy week in week out, not Liverpool standard

If we signed Messi some people would still moan!

If he signs for us then give the lad a chance.

Gaz1975.

The thing that people don't understand about Joe Allen is that we are not after his successful passing rate or tackling rate or even goals and assists.

What Rodgers wants is his footballing brain. Looking at the match against Toronto, we really lacked someone who moves about constantly creating space for others and Allen is exactly that sort or player. He is one that can make Rodger's flow smoothly in the coming season.

Let's hope we don't concentrate our efforts on signing Dempsey

Bury 90 aps 8 goals Newcastle 56 aps 8 goals Liverpool 232aps 54 goals terry McDermott hmmmmmmmmmm bit of a risk? (and was brilliant! Not featured on FIFA manager) paisley's genius {Ed001's Note - I loved Terry McDermott! First time I ever won money was in a sweep on first scorer and I was just a kid so was given first choice. I chose him. Loved him ever since.}

"Watched this guy week in week out, not Liverpool standard" ......of the last few years? yes i agree, he's a lot better than our current standard and just what we need to make our red machine tick once more. his vision, movement and passing accuracy will allow the qualities of those around him to shine through too...

WHAT I am so annoyed because sly sports are saying that spuds are close to agreeing a 7.5mil for remy. Why don't pool bid more we've got that money and for that class of player that's cheap cheers eds

Norfolk Jose

If it was up to some people we would bid for every player on the market! Grow up,remy isn't better than what we have already got!

How do you know Remy will do well in the Prem. How do you know that he will score more than Borini, who cost only a little more. How do you know that his injury problems wont re-occur. And if he was so good, why would his team let him go - and why would he be sio cheap. And, if Sky are reporting it, then it has to be correct doesn't it!?

Burnsy

Glad we didn't go for Loic Remy......Sick of people throwing there hands up everytime another team signs a player. It's going to happen every transfer window you fool. Let's worry about ourselves and our targets.

Ozred

He was wanted under the KD era, so why get annoyed? Obviously, BR has other targets in mind.......relax

Maybe we don't think he's good enough? Plenty of strikers have looked good in France and then been rubbish when they move here. Maybe we have another target in mind if we sell Suarez or Carroll and need another striker?

Just because a player is available and Spurs are interested doesn't mean we should be.

- Something Red -

That's BS, he's far more likely to join Newcastle for a fee closer to £15m which is way too much for him!

MansfieldRED

It's incredible how many tantrums are thrown on this site. Just because a player is good on Footy Manager doesn't mean he'll fit with what BR is trying to do at Liverpool. We can't bid for every player under the sun you know. Tired of some fans throwing their dummy out just because we haven't put a bid in for x, y or z. You sound like the Venky's with your hollywood understanding of how football works. I bet you would break the bank for Ronaldinho and Kaka.

MarkB.

How do you know we haven't?

To the guy who replied to this post first.... Remy isn't better than what we have already... Are you blind?!?!?

Remy is not better than Suarez that is it. He is not far off either, great player, bags of pace and scores goals. What more could you want you muppet! over priced AC who scored less than 5 goals last year... ok mate!

He may well be good enough, but he's not the only one - there are hundreds of great players out there, and we've been linked to many of them.

I'd like to think BR will look to keep the squad below 100 though, otherwise the wage bill might become a bit much.

Seriously why do all you fans criticise people for wanting players we haven't got when maybe we should. But when we are linked with like joe Allen people say oh he will be amazing, in Brendan we trust etc. we should be looking at quality and Remy has proved that.

Remy is injury prone for starters an this story is a load of bs. They rejected a bid of 16 mil 3 months ago when he was injured why wud they accept 7.5 mil now? {Ed002's Note - Two approaches have been made to Marseille. Neither from Liverpool.}

On the bright side, maybe this means Suarez is definitely staying ..........or we could just be not interested

But, but... Guys! "He would fit in BR's system"!

Sorry... Couldn't resist...

Esbee

Cos the american just talk, no money to show.suck lfc nowadays

Does'nt remy also have some sort of heart condition? i think he failed a medical at a club, can't remember which.

Its people like u that make me sick , if love Remy that much, buy him for ur team. ur very confussed if u think that he could go for 7.5 mil. ur very deluded!

To the dummy that called me a muppet,remy isn't even as good as Bellamy you donut,you are big behind your computer with your name calling aren't you pal?!!.

Hey eds, just wondering if us or any club for that matter have shown any interest in wellington nem of ? From what I've seen the lad has bags of potential.
{Ed002's Note - A number of clubs have shown an interest in Wellington Nem from a scouting perspective but as far as I know there has yet to be an offer made to Fluminense. Perhaps Spurs will make a bid this window.}

Is it true that Liverpool have signed the new Neymar, William Souza(mclaren)? {Ed002's Note - I don't know what the situation is but it is a very complex situation doing anything useful with players under 18 who come from abroad.}

The guy they have signed is supposed to be the new neymar

How can he be the new Naymar, when the old one is only just out of nappies??

Iv read that weve offered a contract but arsenal united and chelsea are looking at him too

Anfield Andy

Messi was very young when he went to barca', and look what he has done

Ed, apparently he is looking in to getting a European passport, must have a granny who knew a sailor!? Lol, anyway, that's what was happening. There's been a lot of interest shown apparently, mainly from footage they have seen. Only 15, so who knows.
RedAnt {Ed002's Note - Having a European passport makes no difference. Having a parent moving to England would do. Does he speak fluent English - because he needs to be enrolled in a school? I really would not hold your breath over this just yet.}

Private tutor!

Question on this if you don't mind Ed002- how does an underage move to England? I know it's been mentioned that young first teamers from South America are difficult to sign because of the lack of an EU passport and the fairly strict rules to allow them to work here. Are the rules different for kids?

RDL {Ed002's Note - There are very strict rules for all players under 18 now (schooling, limitations on training time etc.) and these are outlined in the Premier League rules. As for moving, all players under 18 must have a parent or guardian move with them now. PAssport is nothing to do with it.}

Hi eds,
Was just wondering is there any more news about Bernard from mineiro in brazil. Its my girlfriends team so ive followed their games quite a bit. I know the guy is short but so is allen. Hes got some serious pace And good crosses.hes finishing has been poor but got on the scoresheet last two games.hes not that widely spoken unlike neymar, lucas moura etc. But Its probably cuz mineiro hasnt been that great of a team.also heard that he has dual citizenship brazilian And spanish, so signing him over visa complications shouldnt be a problem.
Sorry for the long text. Any feedback would be highly appreciated.
Duda {Ed002's Note - No, there is nothing. He was simply one of the players looked at by the South American scouting team.}

Would Yarmalenko be available at the right price Eds - to solve our right hand side problem ? He seemed to give Ashley Cole a lot of problems a few weeks back. Hes only 22yrs old at Dynamo Kiev. Any ideas on what he might cost and/or his availability ?
Cheers
RedTedt {Ed002's Note - Yarmolenko has been linked with AC Milan, Galatasaray, Napoli, Palermo and PSG. I doubt he will move.}

Hey Ed's.

Would you be able to give us fans a little in site into this Chevrolet deal please? I.e. how it's going to benefit the club financially?

Much appreciated,

100% Cotton {Ed002's Note - The company is simply the new automotive partner and will trade advertising/player promotions for supplying the company vehicles.}

But England has things called Roundabouts and Chevy's are yonk cars that don't go round corners... Makes no sense. :D

I find it odd that this has come around considering they are also Man Utd's official sponsor! {Ed002's Note - Previously Audi had a vehicle deal with several clubs. There are not that many car companies willing to do this.}

Does this mean the players will have to drive them? They'll be the laughing stock of the premiership..
JonnieRed

There all be driving around in bumble bees... liverpool couldn't get any more american if they were all fan dressed in the stars an stripes eating burgers off Ronald McDonalds cow boy hat

Seems Suarez hasn't done any harm to sponsors.. {Ed001's Note - wow, yes that is so obvious because of this one deal! Why did no one else spot it? Oh that's right, because you are talking rubbish!}
