Ssn reporting the foxes are considering an offer from Liverpool for chillwell.

looking forward to seeing how this progresses. Echo saying that Klopp is backing out of a deal as he is not convinced of Chilwell's desire to move to us. Funny because they have a quote in speech marks but not based on an interview. So likely to be a re-phrased 2nd or 3rd hand comment via the kitchen lady.

Ed01 has said Chilwell is still of interest to us.

ANDERSON TALISCA is awaiting a work permit before finalising his move to Liverpool, according to a report from O Jogo.

This is in the latest edition and he has, according to the report been told " his move to England will be going ahead" by Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira.

{Ed002's Note - Another attacking midfield player - just what the doctor ordered.}

25 Jul 2016 20:29:15
Ed, do you know if this rumour has any substance at all to it?
With strengthening the LB position being a priority for the squad, it is hard to imagine klopp seriously pursuing another attacking mf.
I'm worried the club will really regret not strengthening at lb in this window.

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - If Klopp only wishes the club to buy attacking midfield players then that is fine.}

25 Jul 2016 20:33:33
Really?!? Is it true or just plain kack? 😕.

Agree2 Disagree3

25 Jul 2016 20:46:12
Think we might have to win 5-4 every game. exciting times though.

25 Jul 2016 20:47:03
Left back isn't important when we play 2-1-5-2.

Agree9 Disagree1

25 Jul 2016 20:54:10
This is getting stupid now. Someone big is off.

Agree6 Disagree5

25 Jul 2016 21:29:44
If its true (and the eds haven't confirmed) then lallana is definitely off to spurs, and maybe couts or firmino leaving as well.
Nothing confirmed yet though.

Agree5 Disagree6

25 Jul 2016 21:39:23
Maybe he is the new LB!

Jokes aside, I doubt LFC are in for him. O Jogo has been very certain he is coming to Liverpool though they are not exactly reliable. I wonder if Everton are the club in for him?

Agree4 Disagree1

25 Jul 2016 21:47:16
He's a central midfielder.

Agree3 Disagree1

25 Jul 2016 22:01:18
I don't know anything like the eds do but I'd assume coutinho would be the first one to go due to his wishes to play CL football and him Being the star of the team? Firmino hasn't been here long and although I think he's been great I don't think we'd have been offered money enough to warrant him leaving, lallana going to Spurs, was that not just paper talk?

Agree3 Disagree3

25 Jul 2016 22:35:11
This is non sense. The player in question cannot make it in the Benfica starting 11 and still some think he will replace Lallana who is one of Klopp's favorite player within the squad. Utter non sense.

Agree5 Disagree0

25 Jul 2016 22:37:03
Its not true. His agent is fishing for interest and i'm sure eds has said another prem club are considering him. Right ed?

26 Jul 2016 01:37:13
Klopp vs Ed002, who is more credible?

Agree3 Disagree0

26 Jul 2016 10:48:03
I think by ED002's tongue in cheek comments he believe's this to be a non-starter.

{Ed002's Note - No, I am simply surprised that given the priority in another position that Klopp would look to keep adding players who play in the same position.}

I remember when we all dreamed of a team of Carragher's now we all dream of a team of ACM's.
Oh wait, no we don't. We've got one!

26 Jul 2016 22:08:37
What worries me is that the Eds haven't outright called bs on this story, which makes me wonder if it does actually have some legs.
Before the funds run out this summer I believe we have to get some strong competition for lb, or we will suffer for it next season.

If Liverpool fail in their pursuit of Ben Chillwell, they will turn to former Barcelona left-back, Juanma, who is currently on trial at the club.

The Mirror, report that the defender made his debut for the club's U21 side against Rhyl this weekend, and even laid on assist in the game, boosting his chances of earning a contract at the Anfield club.

Any chance you guys know anything about him? Also curious about the link to Presnel Kimpembe, if no one else has already mentioned him.

I've watched some games in some pretty obscure European leagues. I even watched a game in the Finnish league last season! But Spanish Youth Football?

If anyone is that dedicated to the game, and to armchair scouting, fair play! I bow to you.

Agree6 Disagree1

25 Jul 2016 19:25:30
I was at the Rhyl Game, in the first-half Rhyl hardly got out of their half. Great assist by Juanma, he put it on a plate. 2nd half saw almost complete different team out and the game was less one sided although Liverpool were still dominant but just less clinical.

We won 1-4.

Kent and Wilson were class. Worth a watch for the price guys, good footy on show.

25 Jul 2016 19:28:34
Juanma will be playing for the U23s in PL2 if he joins the team, not for the senior squad.

25 Jul 2016 20:52:57
Fair point, AG. I wasn't expecting him to slot home as our starting left back, I was just looking for a comment about the player in general. Thanks Statto.

I'm pretty sure he is a CB that can play at LB as well.

Hey eds? Who's is this lato fella I've heard we are linked with from Valencia b team. Has it got any legs?

Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - I don't know who you are talking about sorry. I don't know of any Lato in the Valencia B side.}

25 Jul 2016 06:18:40
I believe he is talking about Antonio Latorre Grueso aka Toni Lato.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - young left back? I was expecting him to move into their first team this season. They have little interest in selling him, yet. They are working with Jorge Mendes now, cheap deals will be very unlikely.}

25 Jul 2016 15:07:11
I believe he's playing the Joker in suicide squad, and not what we need since everyone's gripe with Moreno is that he doesn't use his brain.

25 Jul 2016 17:43:02
He hasn't got a brain to use.

Not seen him myself, but happy to go with all what people say. If we don't get him now and he plays well next season for whoever he could be worth the kind of fee Luke Shaw went for? He wants to come so let's get it done so we can move on, as I think that might be our lot! Would just be mainly selling or maybe a few kids?

Agree7 Disagree1

25 Jul 2016 11:29:45
I've no problem with bringing Chilwell in but only if he's one of 2 left backs coming in.
By all accounts he has great potential but at 19 and with very little appearances under his belt is he suitable backup/ replacement for Moreno.
I believe Moreno is our weak link however perhaps Klaven can fit in there when needed.

Agree4 Disagree1

25 Jul 2016 12:07:11
Don't worry too much about little prem experience. Rob Jones, Jon Flannaghan, Luke Shaw etc etc the list goes on. Young quality can do well and it's no different to buying an expensive 'known' full back from Spain, France or Brazil as they too have no prem experience and can also fail.

If people in the game who have seen players come through and know their stuff tip this guy then it should be enough.

He could be bad just as much as he could be amazing, that can be anyone we bring in, so just trust it's a good choice and we have good coaches,

Agree7 Disagree1

25 Jul 2016 13:32:38
I wouldn't expect him to come straight in and replace Moreno, more challenge Moreno to up his game abit and give him maybe the same amount of game time as Smith last season and perhaps replace Moreno next season.

Agree2 Disagree4

25 Jul 2016 13:58:29
Watched him vs Celtic and he`s already better than Moreno, the worst defensive liability I`ve ever seen.

25 Jul 2016 14:34:58
Willems is the better than chillwell imo though bc does have great potential.

Liverpool to bid one last time for Chilwell.

Believable8 Unbelievable5

25 Jul 2016 07:53:06
We know what they want ie £10 Million. It could be our last signinin in before we start on our departures. Stop arsing anout with £7 n £ 8 Million iffers n stump up. We have done OK on our selling for decent cash so far, can't have it bith ways. Get the £10 Mill on the table n if he is as good as rumours have it deal clised n a hopeful decent left back on our books. Especially if we get the £6 Mill rumoured for Smith.

Agree12 Disagree3

25 Jul 2016 08:12:02
I have to agree, if we get him in early, hopefully fly him over to America, get to know the squad nice and early.

Agree12 Disagree0

25 Jul 2016 12:10:17
Yep, after having Smith bid of £6m, I'd now say get it done at the price we know £10m. I never expected £6m for Smith and he has been ok, we know he is looking good so it's not like we've any reason to laugh at that value. But, we can say we weren't expecting that and more like £3m-£4m would have been good, so let's use that bonus extra and wrap up Chilwell.

Agree3 Disagree0

25 Jul 2016 14:01:02
Agreed, lads. I don`t understand this messing about with small pennies. We forked out 25m on Wijnaldum without blinking an eye yet we are penny pinching on a player who costs half of what GW cost. Chilwell is clearly who we want so stop messing about, pay the 10m and be done with it.

Agree4 Disagree1

25 Jul 2016 16:24:05
It's that attitude that cost us dearly with some major flops.
