Anyone know who the two signing are @kopwatch are talking about? There saying we will be gob smacked. Anyone know if there reliable? Ed if we signing players from other leagues its only on a pre contract right? So will we have to wait until 1st July or will the club announce it sooner? I've been struggling to sleep refreshing this sight every 2 mins lol

TIZER RED {Ed001's Note - I doubt they are doing anymore than stirring up people to follow them. You are correct on the other bits, though the deals can be announced sooner.}

25 May 2011 23:01:55

I've heard Ricardo Quaresma and Guti will sign from Besiktas. This is not a 100% by all means. Personally I would take Quaresma but not Guti. I feel Quaresma would give us that end product we are missing. He has skill, great shooting ability and he provides great crosses. I think he has unfinished business to do in the premier league after his spell at Chelsea

They both signed for Besiktas last summer, bit slow aren't you haha

Heard that if we fail in our pursuit of aguero ( if u can call it a pursuit ) we will chase benzema.... We had an offer of £20m accepted in January. He would have been here only Higuain got injured and Mourinho refused to let him go. I'm confident that Comolli will move for him and Mourinho has made him available for £22m. We actually planed to have a strike force of Torres, Carroll, Suarez (3 different strikers) however Torres left and now Comolli wants a like for like replacement for Torres and sees Benzema as the man we wanted a target man, off the shoulder and a drop off striker. we actually went in for Llorente first as Torres wanted him. but Suarez was always on the agenda as the drop off man. we actually bid for Aguero as Dalglish feels he could play off the shoulder also but I think Benzema is more likely and a viable option.

________________

We got Carroll as a replacement for Torres, if Torres didn't leave we wouldn't have made a move for Carroll.

Why would we buy Aguero and then immediately trade him with Benzema and Coentrao? Don't we, Liverpool, Kenny have no self-respect? Maybe Madrid dont, but Liverpool do. So it aint happening.

unless real madrid pay the buy out plus the extra money needed i can't see this deal happening for aguero simply cos the president has already said they will not sell to real madrid if they can help it and will add a clause in any sale stating they can't sell to real madrid later, , and his buyout alone is £39million plus the extra for tax i think it is can anyone tell me what the extra is and how much it will be ED if you know {Ed002's Note - I don't know but broadly 15% to 20%.}

Ed, I have read reports saying that a Portuguese newspaper is claiming Liverpool are going to sign coentrao for $25 million. I have read your comments on the site and I don't understand what you mean, you seam to suggest someone has got the info wrong somewhere along the lines, do you mean the Portuguese press have got it wrong or that the british press have misunderstould what the Portuguese paper said? Are you 99% sure he is madrid bound?

Im not saying your wrong as I too expect he is madrid bound, and have heard that the newspaper supposedly saying Coentrao is coming to liverpool also reported that we are going to sign De Gea as a replacement for Reina! A day after Utd confirm they are buying him and a few weeks after Reina committed his future! lol

25 May 2011 21:42:40
All this about Aguero moving to liverpool and then liverpool selling him to madrid is rubbish. Liverpool won't sign Charlie Adam as Alberto Aquilani is returning. Sources tell me Damien Comolli wants to fly out to spain to talk to Juan Mata, Diageo Perotti and Serigo Aguero. But state that only one will sign. Also it is understood that Rodger Johnson of Birmingham wants a move to anfield.

25 May 2011 21:23:09
This is 100% fact so far.

Jose Enrique and Charlie Adam will be signing 4 year deals after the 1st of June.

Interest in Ashley Young has definitely ceased now for numerous reasons. Juan Mata is believed to be very determined for a deal to be made between Valencia and Liverpool. Damien Camolli is adamant that a fee will be agreed after July.

Alberto Aquilani will definitely not be playing at Liverpool next season. He wants to stay in Italy.

Jonjo Shelvey will be going out on loan.
David Ngog, philip Degan, Danny Pacheco, Paul Konchesky, Christian Poulsen, Nabil El Zhar, Fabio Aurelio and Joe Cole will all be leaving.

Sylvain Marveaux will join on a free transfer. Terms and conditions will be agreed.

Nesv are going to make a huge statement in this summer transfer window. Liverpool have only three trophys to contend for next season, with the Premiership at the top of the agenda. There will be 9 players leaving Anfield this summer and with Fernandez Suso and Rahim Sterling being promoted to the 1st team squad next season, Liverpool will need to strengthen. Damien Camolli is looking at three possible major signings being Eden Hazard of Lille, Ezequiel Lavezzi of Napoli and Sergio Aguero of Athletico Madrid.

I previously (and recently) worked with a member of the current coaching team at Liverpool. I was told that these are by no means the only players we are interested in, but if all goes well and we get our first choices our incoming players will be compiled of the first few from that list.
I also know we want rid of Joe Cole, and he will be Offered to clubs in part exchange though this is rare so we are most likely to sell him to a premier league team just to shift his wage bill.
Ed ward.

25 May 2011 21:12:44
we will sign a right winger, a left winger, a left back, a goal keeper, a striker and centeral midfielder and centeral defender.

the left back player will be linked as either a full back or a left sided player such as vargas. clichy i believe most likely tho.

Ricardo quaresma will sign for liverpool to play on the right wing with ejiro elia playing on the left.
maveaure will be back up on the left wing and for the right will be lennon, if pursuaded, if joe cole goes the other way.

gk will be the return of friedel so reina will stop making mistakes and increase competition which will make him play better.

the striker as im hearing is aguero, however i would love this as u can imagen him n suarez upfront is devastating to defenders. if not him our sight will go for defoe or long

charlie adam or joey barton will sign, but not sure which 1..

and jones and dann would be a good asset to the team also. as central defenders

Liverpool will not buy Sergio Aguero and trade him in a part/ exch for Benzema and Coentrao.

Atletico Madrid have already stated that whoever buys him will have a clause not to go to Real.

However, despite this being purely speculation Aguero could still move to Liverpool.

Guys, I'm hearing some interesting info regarding Aguero/ Benzema/ Contreao. I work in Madrid quite often (for Airbus at Getafe, Madrid) and my contacts tell me that, although R. Madrid want Aguero, A. Madrid do not want to sell him to them. A deal has been (quietly) worked out - Liverpool will sign Aguero and Real will sign Contreao. Once the deals have been concluded, Real will swap Benzema + Contreao for Aguero plus cash adjustment either way to cover expenses, taxes etc....................

======================

You forgot to mention that Hazard is involved in all this, once we buy Aguero so we can sell him to Madrid and get Benzima/ Contreao, United would have bought Hazard and immediately swapped with Chelsea for Torres.Then a swap deal will happen where we give them Ngog and we get Torres and Messi which they would have bought from Barca so they can do the deal with us.
This master plan was supposed to be a secret , and an injunction was put in place to keep it a secret you gone a ruined it now.

"what about the rule of moving twice in one transfer window, you idiot"

Such a rule does not exist. Many players have been bought from one club, and loaned out (usually to the original club) in the same window.
There is the rule that a player cannot play for 3 clubs in one domestic season; remember the Mascherano issue because he had already technically played for Corinthians and West Ham in our season which would have forbade him to play for us? (It worked such that he was allowed due to the Brazilian league not co-inciding with our league).

Anywhom, for the record, that deal thing you suggested was 100% BS.

25 May 2011 20:17:13
So Ed02 was perfectly correct - Contreao is going to Real Madrid. So all those who slagged him off, please collect your teddies and dummies from him as soon as possible.

No doubt me but it seems as though you're contradicting yourself, by "Coentrao is going to Real Madrid" do you mean just temporarily, or he's staying there?

Hi Ed's Great site and I'd like to say ed002 gets a lot of undeserved stick from day dreamers. Anyway if you don't mind the long post, this will put the Coentrao thing to bed. Here is the actual article from correio da manha in portuguese for everyone

And translated to English:

F bio Coentr o will be a player of the Real one Madrid. The agreement between eagles and meringues, to what the CM hurried, was achieved still before of the Benfica-Union of Leiria (3-3), last game of the League. In the height, the lateral one said good-bye of the Light and said: "I am going to present myself in the day 22 of June", when questioned in the end of the meeting about which would be his future. But that it should be the date for the farewell of the international one Portuguese of 23 years of the club where aligned in the last four epochs (was a year and environment lent to the Zaragoza, to the National one and also to Rio Bird).

The Benfica should insert in the business a value in the order of the 25 millions of euros in the immediate one, a budget that can go up up to the 30 millions (total by objectives).

The direction of Florentine Perez put on top of the table the Argentine head office Garay for do to lower the price of Coentr o, option that Lu s Filipe Scallop refused. By the way, the president embodied always did to know that the alone player would leave for the value of the clause of rescis o (30 millions).

The alone athlete should be presented like reinforcement meringue after the game of the national selection faced with the Norway (4 of June).

The Benfica is in the land for reinforce to lateral. After it thwarted the contracting of the Nigerian one Taiwo (signed for the Milan), the name of the Argentine Ansaldi has been aimed as possible reinforcement embodied, but the ten millions requests by the Russians of the Rubin are going to chill the interest. The option can pass for the Spanish one Canella (Gij n).

J LIO C SAR LENT

The Brazilian goalkeeper J lio C sar should be given up to a club of the League in the near season.

The entrance of Artur Moraes (hired by four years) should dictate the exit of the guardian chosen by

Jesus for be a substitute of him contested Roberto in 2010/ 11. Like this, in the near epoch big vagueness as regards the third goalkeeper exists, since Mulberry tree takes practically definite place in the team. The Spanish, a lot player caressed by Jorge Jesus (technical already guaranteed that want to stay with the goalkeeper, that cost 8.5 millions), still has possibilities of stay. But case Roberto stay not, and starting from the budget of that Artur will be the captain, the Slovene one Oblak (given up in the last epoch to the Seaside and Olhanense) will be able to integrate the group to the orders of Jesus. In the last days, however, has been advanced the possibility of the Benfica hire the Belgian one Courtois (Genk).

Sorry fellow reds but it mentions Liverpool Nowhere!!!

I would love this player to sign but he is not going to. Stop b*tching on the eds for giving the facts.

Ed's it as been reported on newsnow that Gervinho will decide his future next week is there any progress from Liverpool with him? {Ed001's Note - Gervinho is, as far as I know, no longer of interest.}

ys, I'm hearing some interesting info regarding Aguero/ Benzema/ Contreao. Once the deals have been concluded, Real will swap Benzema + Contreao for Aguero plus cash adjustment either way to cover expenses, taxes etc.

So Ed02 was perfectly correct - Contreao is going to Real Madrid. So all those who slagged him oys, I'm hearing some interesting info regarding Aguero/ Benzema/ Contreao. ======================

Fabio Coentrao will be a Real Madrid player. The agreement between eagles and meringues, to which the CM found to have been reached even before the Benfica-Sporting Lisbon (3-3), last game of the league.

@25 May 2011 18:48:55 "this is theturdz"

Regarding this 'Barton' thing, I also posted over a week ago that I had heard that Barton and Baines were both being looked at. Barton as cover for LW & LM, Baines as a an attacking LB. I must say - as I said then, Baines is nothing spectacular , but Barton? Dalglish would be insane to even risk him. Apparently though Barton is friendly to some degree or other with Gerrard and I hear that in the last couple of days Newcastle have told him they won't stand in his way if anyoone comes knocking and he wants out. Dear God I hope not.

Liverpool Argee Deal for £25m Portuguese Sensation
Posted on 25 May 2011

Liverpool have agreed a deal to bring Benfica left-back Fabio Coentrao to Anfield when the summer transfer window opens for business.

Coentrao has been impressive for Benfica this season and has been on the radar of a number of top European clubs including Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Since Kenny Dalglish took over at Liverpool in January, a left-back as been top of the agenda.

Dalglish and director of football Damien Comolli, over the past couple of months have been linked with Newcaslte's Jose Enrique, Everton's Leighton Baines and Arsenal's Gael Clichy.

However according to Portuguese publication Correio da Manha, the Merseyside club have agreed a fee of £25million for the Portugal international Coentrao.

The 23-year-old is versatile and will fit into Dalglish's plans as he can operate as a left-back and on the left wing.

The Liverpool boss will hope Coentrao can create chances for the £50m forward partnership of Andy Carroll and Luis Su rez.

This season Coentrao has made 35 appearances, scored four goals and provided one assist in all competitions as Benfica made it to the semi-finals of the Europa League and finished second in the Portuguese league.
SORRY FOR PASTING.
KOPFIEND 1978 YNWA {Ed001's Note - it is wrong anyway mate, the article stated that Real Madrid agreed a fee, I don't know why this false translation has been floated around.}

Whats the issue with Fabio Contreao, have we agreed a 25 mil fee? {Ed001's Note - nope, Real Madrid have.}

Targets for each position, in ascending priority, from a surce within Melwood:
LB: Angel, Cissokho, Enrique
CB: Sakho, Cahill, Jones
CDM: Mataudi, Gago, Diarra
CM: Sissoko, Diego, Adam
L/ RW: A. Johnson, A. Young, Gervinho
R/ LW: Mata, Payet, Ndinga
FW: Muniain, Falcao, Van Wolfswinkel
Would sign off with my name, Ed, but then things may be awkward! I'll just call myself Edward on here. Enjoy!

People, Fabio Contreao bid accepted from Liverpool is not true, its Real Madrid who have had the bid accepted.

Ed, all of this hype about our transfer window being the best in years with big name signings etc....am I the only one expecting disapointment??

I really don't believe we will sign players good enough for a top 4 push, becuas there all being liekd with teams who have european football

Young - man utd
Adam- Spurs
Payet - Bayern
Sissoko - Lille
Contreao - Madrid
Benzema - Inter
Cahill - Arsenal
Jones- Man city

I for one am really worried

Basically i wana say the truth .......

Aguero - is going to R.Madrid

Fabio C - is going to R.Madrid

C Adams - on his way to Liverpool in the next month

A Young - is talking with Aston Villa... he is listening to what they have planned next season after this he will decided .... my opinion Manchester United are leading the race

Enrique - i Think we will sign him

Elia - 50/ 50 chance of him along with Mata and Turan

i think Liverpool FC will sign Enrique, Friedel, Adams,

25 May 2011 17:41:27

Why is everyone so confident that we will sign Charlie Adam ? Also is Payet good enough ? Cheers mate.

25 May 2011 17:39:32
forget rumous about Hulk.Seems he has signed a long term deal at Porto with a 100M Euro buy out clause.

Forget Owen coming back as well. He has no hamstrings left and based on his recent comments about ManU he is happy there and wants to stay. Would not want him back anyway...too injury prone and a bench warmer.

Stop the nonsense and leave it to the king.

Liverpool paying close attention to a young Brazilian forward caled Neymar. Talk of a bid of £25M being put together.

25 May 2011 17:18:49
Ashley Young is going to be a Man united player by next season unfortunatley. The opportunity of Champions League Football swinged him and Man United Winning the league has cemented his choice.

Scott Dann to Liverpool is looking very likely and him being a Liverpool Fan would most certainly make him move if Liverpool make a move. With Gary Cahill and Phil Jones Being ridiculously overpriced, Dann is the man on the radar.

Jose Enrique will arrive from the toon. He has his mind set on it as he is refusing to sign a new deal as he is holding out for a move to liverpool at Newcastle. Ideal choice as he has premier league experience and is'nt Expensive.

Charlie Adam will trade Orange for Red and he knows himself that he is on his way to Liverpool, so does everybody else.

To be honest the wingers arriving could be anybody. Charles N'zogbia and Matt jarvis are looking the most realistic. Marin and Hazard will definatley not be coming. Mata is a 50/ 50 chance, but is more likely to join the Blue of Manchester. Champions League Football and wages will Man City ahead of us in the race for his signature. And If it gets into a bidding war their is no doubt who will win.

There will be no Aguero or Hulk either as the 'marquee signing'.
The most likely big transfer could be Adam Johnson depending on the Wingers Man city decide to bring in.

25 May 2011 17:00:21
needs to stop with the contrao rumours the fee agreed is with real madrid and the same with aguero it is well known in and around the athletico camp that he wants to play in madrid next season but for the whites:

Camolli has identified 2 players in spain whom are angel and mata- unsure as to the fee of angel but the fee mata is £18 mill

If angel is not the ma to sign liverpool will try for juan manuel vargas from fiorentina as they have accepted he is leaving but despite liverpool and others valueing the player at 15 million the fee will rise!

Camolli is a fan of sakho who can play in the centre or the left of the defence and i would not be suprised if he was one of a few additions: The other players being looked at are:
*young/ n'zogbia: (i'd prefer n'zogbia)
*robbie keane at 5 million (squad player)
*scott dann at 5 million (hope my source has got this wrong but he tends to be right)

"Blackpool offer Charlie Adam new 12 month contract my source Ssn but he will be liverpool player soon I think Freidel will end up at spurs and young man u

That's not what it meant, it means that they activated a clause which adds 2 years to his contract.

25 May 2011 16:50:44
Ed, apart from hazard, what right wingers do you think are an option because most of the players linked are left wingers. I would expect it to be someone top quality like mata is on the left as kenny said they will only buy top quality {Ed002's Note - Payat is one option that is being looked at.}

25 May 2011 16:49:06
Ed, what is the situation with hazard as it was being reported that we had put a bid in then hazard said he wants to stay put. I would have thought that commoli would have had some idea whether the player was interested in coming to us before putting a bid in. We have been watchin him for ages and it seem stupid to spend ages negotiating for then him to say he wants to stay. Many reporters such as jenchang for sports illistrated say he is our top target?

{Ed002's Note - Hazard signed a new contract with Lille and if he cannot get a move that suits him (Barcelona and Real Madrid were his preference) then he could stay and play in the Champions League next year. Juventus are very keen but cannot offer football at the highest level right now. Arsenal, Liverpool, Juventus, Real Madrid, Spurs and Barcelona have shown interest or admiration for the player. I would not be surprised to see Manchester United throw their hat in to the ring as well. If he does move and I was pushed for an answer, I think he could end up in Italy, possibly at Inter. The recent Liverpool bid rumours seem to be little more than the recycling of the story of Damian Comolli asking to be kept informed of any movements for the player and this is several weeks old. If it were Arsenal or Liverpool I would say Arsenal.}

there is no truth in it at all, I tracked down the original source Correio da Manha and it doesn't mention Liverpool. In fact the first sentence of the article says "F bio Coentr o ser jogador do Real Madrid" which means F bio Coentr o will become a Real Madrid player. Not about Liverpool, sorry.

Ed i can't see LFC letting someone post on there website that Benfica have agreed a fee with LFC for 25mil if it was a joke?? {Ed001's Note - it was a mistranslation, the story said that Real Madrid agreed a 25m fee for a Liverpool target.}

Not a rumour as such but take a look at Charlie Adams twitter today, he retweeted two separate people saying hope to see you at lfc next season. No reason why hed do that notes he was going to sign for us! Himself, friedel and perhaps enrique signed up? What you think ed?

{Ed006's Note - I saw and thought the exact same thing. If he was staying at Blackpool he wouldn't be unprofessional and retweet things about him being a Liverpool player next season. I think that he will end up here as long as we can sort something out for Aquilani.}

Im know nothing about twitter so i would like to know what does it mean to retweet?

{Ed006's Note - It means that if someone tweets (posts something) you can retweet it (repost it to your followers). Now seeing as Adam retweeted something saying fans would love to see him at Anfield next season suggests that he will be. I am not saying that he is 100% going to be but it would be very unprofessional to retweet that.}

Ed, this angel your talking about? Is it the left back from Sporting Gijon as i thought he was nailed on to be signing for Barcelona? {Ed001's Note - we have tried to convince him otherwise.}

25 May 2011 14:07:38
Its Fran Merida from Athletico Madrid NOT Sergio Aguero! We will also look at the possibility of bringing Xabi Prieto from Real sociedad. 100% true. Connections in spain.

Correio da Manha a newspaper in portugal are reporting that we have agreed a fee of 25m for Fabio Coentrao.
Big rumour going around that him and 1 other are all but done i can see the other being one of either Adam or Friedel.
Any Thoughts Ed? {Ed001's Note - they have not reported that at all, they say a fee has been agreed with Real Madrid.}

i'm just wondering what CB's we're looking at I really think this is a position we lack any sort of strength in and can't see us progressing til were strong at the back, clubs like chelsea wit terry +carvalio/ luiz, united rio+vidic, arsenal adams+keown, barca puyol+pique, are all clubs that have been very succesful in the last 15years and it's because there big and strong at the back, there's no doubting carra's commitment and talent as a CB but its well known that when a big strong and quick CF comes along he/ we struggle, Henry did it for years! I understand cahill is going to london and were looking at Dann, but is he really the solution? I think an experienced composed head at the back is key, so just want to know are we looking at any experienced CB i.

it appears both arsenal and spurs are having centre half clear outs?
arsenal will bring in cahill and samba
due to the poor form of some of his centre halfs along with the injury prone vermallen ( sp )
spurs will bring in jones and shawcross,
looks like bassong and woodgate have gone and king world class but injury prone spurs will be left with only dawson, gallas, so the two youngsters will be brought in

25 May 2011 13:24:23
Liverpool Signings this Summer:
Juan Mata AM/ FL £20-25M
Elia - Winger £11-14M
Mavareux- Winger
Left back needed do not know who we will get for this Gael clichy and Jose enrique looking doubtful, maybe Kenny will stick with Insua and give jack Robinson a few games next season.

other targets- Other targets we have been linked with- i am not very confident we can sign any of these players though.

james mccarthy
Charles N'zogbia
Stuart Downing
Scott Parker
aquirre( maybe if Clichy, Enrique, Baines all look dead in the water )
Naldo ( CB ) from Werder bremen

reports of liverpool agreeing 25 mill deal for coentrao is there any truth it?

{Ed006's Note - I have read them and don't believe them. I think he will be at Real Madrid next season. If we are looking for a LB I don't see why we dont just bring Insua back and have Robinson as cover.}

So now AGUERO to Liverpool can be put to bed aswell.....................
Tomas Ujfalusi has revealed to the Spanish media that Atletico Madrid team-mate Sergio Aguero wants to sign for Real Madrid next season.

The Argentinian frontman announced on his official website of his intention to leave the Vicente Calderon, while the player also requested that the club respect his wish to futher his career.

The Czech defender has stated that this is due to a desire from Aguero to move across the Spanish capital, telling Radio Sportiva. "For three or four months we [have] known he wanted to go. What is clear is [that] he has chosen to [go to] Real Madrid.

Remember, my reputation is at stake here.}

Re above:

many people seem to have taken ther idea that the "fee agreed" for liverpool target headline spouted around indicates that the fee agreed was between LFC and Benfica. The actual statement in the european papers clearly states the fee agreed for the "LFC target" ws agreed between Benfica and Real Madrid. Always be careful of the translations> Ed002s rep is safe here.

with Juve signing Pirlo, Aquilani will move to AC milan - who sold Pirlo to Juve and have shown interest in Aquilani as reported a few weeks ago in the press. This is good news, as it was reported they offered a lot closer to what we wanted than Juventus were willing to pay.

Hi ed, just read a report on caught offside (don't know if this is reliable or not) its dated back in April this year. it say's that Kenny Dalglish is showing interest in a former Liverpool idol, this is Michael Owen. Dalglish is prepared to gamble on the England international and sees Owen as ideal back up to Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez.
Being a free agent, Dalglish is prepared to offer him a chance to rebuild bridges with Liverpool fans following his departure from Anfield and his decision to join the Red Devils.
Any chance this could happen Ed??? {Ed001's Note - caught offside is extremely unreliable.}

Hi Ed,
a couple of sources are reporting that Juan Mata is in talks over a proposed move to Liverpool. Apparently a fee of £20M has been agreed. Can you confirm this is accurate or is it just speculation? Cheers. Nigel

{Ed002's Note - I cannot confirm it, but have postualted that if there is an unexpected signing then it could well be Mata. I would not be surprised if talks have taken place.}

25 May 2011 12:26:02
Wether you like this or not only saying what I've been told.
Liverpool are talking with Aguero's agents, Henry and Werner have sanctioned the deal as they see getting him as a statement of intent, they also think signing him would help in the signing of other high profile players.

25 May 2011 12:18:08
{Ed002's Note - Sorry, it is not true.}

Sure nothing is true according to you !! Maybe just maybe, it's possible for the likes of Aguero, Mata, Coentrao or such top players to arrive at Liverpool - you just don't Liverpool are good enough to get any do yea?? When you're proved wrong you will be sorry

{Ed002's Note - And so it starts, the anonymous keyboard warrior spitting hatred at me because of bad reporting by some random web site that suggested Coentrao was moving to Liverpool. You see, hiding behind your anonymity you won't need to come out and apologise when it turns out this Coentrao story is incorrect. And perhaps you should go and look up what I said about Mata.}

-------------------------

I don't understand this.

The maximum number of players that can come in is 4-5.

There are around 100-150 names at the least which have been mentioned here in this site.

What do some strange people expect from the Eds ? How many sites have fans who can provide inputs and knowledge like this site?

We should be grateful to the Eds for the information and dedication. It may sound easy but having to reply continuously (typing in the keyboard) is CERTAINLY not the easiest job in the world, however easy it may sound or be perceived.

Eds, Great job. We understand the nature of the job you do and a big thanks to you for all the information you share.

I know you may get bored of writing the stuff again and again but thats part and parcel of the job. Please don't mind because of the comments by some fools.

Fabio Coentrao.

theres no chance of him coming

and ed out of ten what would you say about
young, mata, adam johnson, adams, parker, hazard
and AUGERO {Ed002's Note - 6, 3, 3, 3, 1, 1}

25 May 2011 12:14:46
{Ed002's Note - Regardless of other players at the club (e.g. how many left backs are on the books of Liverpool?) negotiations have been taking place for three weeks between Benfica and Real Madrid.}

Sorry Ed I laughed at that one. Aurelio is the only decent one we got & he can't even go 3 games on the run. Marcelo & Coentrao are on par with eachother really, both brilliant going forward but neither can defend.

lmao all the carp about aguero being seen here there and everywhere,
anyone that follows him on twitter would know he's home in argentina stating he'll decide on his future soon there's a few offers to consider,
he'll be a madrid player which is ok as it opens the way for us to move for benzema!! although ballague say's the madrid president would rather sell higuain so interesting developments ahead regarding madrid. just wondering if macca has an opinion?

Btw Comolli is in Spain talking to Valencia regarding mata.

Aji

Comolli is talking to Valencia either today or tomorrow and Kun Aguero flew to Argentina last night theres an interview with him at the airport on Marca, seems a huge waste of time going from Madrid to Argentina to Liverpool in the space of 24hrs. Btw in the interview he said he wants to play in Mardrid

25 May 2011 12:02:58
Who is else is totally sick of the aguero stories??? Give it up, he's not coming, and why would you want him anyway, unproven in a physical league like the epl, unknown response to living abroad 40 million upfront and 200k a week, you'd have to be mad given liverpool's current squad issues to invest our entire transfer budget in a striker after spending 55m on two strikers 4 months ago. Heres an idea sign 8 strikers and just play 1-10. Idiots, and worse still you then all slag off the eds for keeping your delusions in check. I bet you all still think santa comes down your chimney every 24th of December and cry when someone tells you its your dad.

Ok rant over, heres what I think are the realisitic signings liverpool may make

Scott Dann
Slyvian Marveuax
geal clichy ( I think the enrique deal has died, ashley would have tied it up by now, but that is conjecture)
maybe scott parker or charlie adam, but I think both are doubtful
aaron lennon
payet
gerviniho

Probably totally wrong but at least they are realistic in terms of player profile and budget. Personally I'd love to see jagielka, dempsey and brunt in that list, but they haven't been mentioned frequently enough in the media or on here to be probable targets. Also does anyone fancy a cheeky contact offer to RVN, 34 but, ohheeee, impact players don't come better than that

All you delusional aguero lovers shout me down, but please sign your posts so I can revel in righteous smugfilled glory when you are proved to be totally wrong

Is a left back really a priority at the moment?
I have a feeling that KK will use a combination of the current players to play in that position.
Anyway is there an update on Diego, he could be a good buy and he has wanted to play for LFC before.

no but coentrao is a left back and so is Marcelo so that means Marcelo would have to sit on the bench even though he has been madrids best player (after Ronaldo).

Hi eds just wondering why man city are not likely to sell Adam Johnson. He wasn't getting a lot of game time for them but has sublime talent and is perfect for us in terms of age. Skysports.com understands a host of English clubs are tracking Auxerre midfielder Delvin Ndinga.

Ndinga has impressed at Auxerre in the last couple of seasons after being snapped up from Congolese side Diables Noires.

The 23-year-old caught the eye during Auxerre's Champions League campaign this season and he is establishing himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe.

Ndinga's performances have not gone unnoticed among Europe's top clubs with Manchester Unitedand Liverpool credited with an interest in the powerful midfielder.

The Congo international is under contract with Auxerre until 2014, but they could face a fight to keep hold of him this summer if any of his suitors firm up their interest.

Ndinga's agent, Milan Calasan, has confirmed a number of English clubs are keeping tabs on the midfielder.

"I know a lot of English clubs are watching Delvin, " Calasan told skysports.com.

"Delvin has impressed in the Champions League and a lot of teams are keeping an eye on him.

"I believe Delvin would be ideal for England as he has all the attributes to be a success in England and he would love the chance to play in the Premier League." is it true that we are looking at him

It seems Juve have signed Pirlo.
Does this change anything about the Aquilani situation Ed?
It would be great to have him back to add some depth to our squad

coentreo going to madrid - its in the same paper - someone is trying to get hits on their website me thinks- obviouslly total pants.
Liverpool fan through and through but why would any top player come to use when we are not even in the Europa league???
sorry but i have to ask!
i feel we will get also rans or higher risk players who have a point to prove, higher performing players from less thought of leagues like portugal or holland, or younger players who reckon they'll get more playing time with us - hence Suarez and hence Marveaux - thats the only way we'll pick up any decent palyers.

Hasslehoff {Ed002's Note - Alonso was simply answering questions put to him, no more. There may be a time that he could return of course. There is little doubt that he enjoyed the city and loves the club. He has explained why he left and that is history - together with the other party involved.}

Liverpool will sign Stephen Warnock for around 3 million from Aston Villa on a 2 year deal. Scott Dann will sign on a 4 year deal from Birmingham for a fee of 6 million. Scott Parker to sign on a 2 year contract for around 6 million. Charlie Adam will sign from Blackpool on a 5 year deal for around 10 milion. Robbie Keane will sign on a 2 year deal for around 5 million. These are the signings for Liverpool this summer. Liverpool will let all the dead wood go.

Liverpool just bought a whole lot more 'dead wood' there mate, lmao.

Hey Ed's, great site. Just wondering if i could get your opinion on when we will hear some official news regaurding transfers? Not before June 1st I presume? And are liverpool likely to try and tie up their transfer business early in the window or play the long game and be prepared to wait right up to the deadline?

{Ed002's Note - There will only be "official" news when anything is actually confirmed, whenever that happens to be. You will also get snippets from confirmation of interest being declared by selling clubs and agents. Comolli has also been pretty honest when asked about certain targets by CanalPlus. As for shopping in the morning or the evening, it depends on whether on not a fee can be agreed. Sellers want the best deal they can get; buyers do not want to risk losing players for bidding too little too late. So there is no easy answer.}

@ 09.16, thanks for the feedback.
Rags should have been Rafa (predictive text).
Is possible as next chelsea manager?
Would the supporters go for it, though he was the man they loved to hate?

Remember, my reputation is at stake here.}

Just read of football-talk.co.uk that Liverpool has agreed a 25 million fee for Coentrao... Is that a good source?? {Ed002's Note - No. It appears to be the worst possible source.}

hi ed ive just copied this from the news now/ football talk is there anything in this???

lfcscott

According to reports in Correio da Manha, Liverpool have agreed a fee of £25m for Benfica left back Fabio Coentrao.

Kenny is set to move for the 23-year old full back who has been linked with a string of high profile clubs across Europe, including Premiership rivals Chelsea and Man City.

Liverpool has made a left back their top priority in the summer and have been linked with Everton's Leighton Baines, Arsenal's Gael Clichy and Newcastle's Jose Enrique.

Nothing has been confirmed by the club, so watch this space!

{Ed002's Note - I suspect a cruel joke on Liverpool fans or at best a dreadfully translated a story from "Correio da Manha". By my reckoning Coentrao remains a 0/10 and he will be moving to Real Madrid as I have previously suggested. Keep in mind I will get all the flak from this by supporters saying I am being biased etc..}

@Ed002

So there have been talks with Sissoko and Payet's clubs?
What kind of talks? Are they recent?
Do you see deals for both being done?
I'd be very happy.

Gracias,
Lombardi Cazorla {Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you mean about "what kind of talks". Regardless of all of the speculation about other players from Toulouse, I stand by my original position that with the transfer window approaching and interest in Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko from both Juventus and Milan on the rise, Liverpool will be looking to tie up a deal for the player - which I think would be a really great addition to the squad. Damien Comolli has already let Sissoko's agent know that Liverpool see his man as the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard. Aside from strong interest from Juventus and AC Milan, Genoa and probably Napoli are also interested.

As for Payet, the opposition will be Paris Saint Germain and possibly Lille. I think there is a good chance and we know that there is interest and that Comolli has at least approached his old employer.}

Ed, according to a report this morning in the very credible Correio da Manha paper, we have agreed a fee of £25m for coentrao. This would be an incredible signing if we could pull it off. Have you heard anything about this possible move?
If we could pull this off alongside the capture of Mata, what a fantastic left side we would have.

JUSTICE FOR THE 96 {Ed002's Note - I agree it would be, however I suspect they are relaying the "football talk" story where someone has badly translated a story from "Correio da Manha" and arrived at "Benfica having agreed a deal with Liverpool" rather than "Benfica having agreed a deal with Real Madrid". By my reckoning Coentrao remains a 0/10. I am sure there will be plenty of active discussion about this later today.}

Liverpool already signed enrique, friedel and also marveaux... They are four player maybe now in talks with liverpool and if i not mistaken, , its charlie adam, ashley young, sissoko and payet... And how about the other rumour that saying liverpool have made the bid for ribery, vargas and also diego?? Is this three player have chances coming to us??... How you thought about this?? Can i ask you eds to rate it.. Please eds :)

{Ed002's Note - I think you are going a bit far to suggest Enrique, Marveaux and Friedel have actually signed but all are very possible. There has been interest in Adam and Young, and both interest other clubs as well. Ribery is a 1/10 and heading for Italy if he leaves Germany. As for Diego, should Liverpool take a risk on a player who was thrown out of Juventus after a year (Juve taking a £10M loss on the transfer) and who has since walked out on Wolfsburg three times this year? I appreciate the situation at Wolfsburg is dire under Magath and the new regime. It would be high risk and I am not sure where he would fit in unless a central midfield player is leaving. Perhaps Galatasaray. Vargas is different from the other left sided players being looked at as he is a proper wing wing back with a very good goalscoring record - although many come from free kicks. His crossing is excellent (Le Saux at his best) and Fiorentina accept he will leave. Arsenal, Manchester City, Benfica, Bayern Munich and Zenit St Petersburg have also shown an interest. Will not be cheap.}

clearly a wind up!! Those players would add to the dead wood! Adam is the only one worth signing (but never at £10m - maybe £5m at a push) and he would be a sub.

I'm a big fan of Podolski and think he would be a great additon to the squad. He is equally effective as striker or side midfielder. His club career is a tad indifferent maybe but for his country he always stands out.

As I have previously stated I also prefer NZogbia to Young. Think he can change a game more than Young. I'm a bit dubious of some of the names floating around of over-inflated stars that the media have hyped up but have so far not proven themselves - Elia, Diego, etc. And I think King Kenny may feel the same, so don't be surprised if there is some truth in rumours like Downing and Dann, as you can't beat proven premiership experience.

Morning reds / eds
It's reported this morng that chelsea are chopping and changing playing staff, with Anelka one of those to be released. I don't know what his wages are, but he could still do a job for a couple of seasons.
PS ed002, do u think chelsea are building anew, around Torres? And rags as next manager?
Cheers, KB {Ed002's Note - Anelka has a year to go on his contract and will be sold this summer. Certainly the MLS is something he has been looking at. Chelsea have an aging squad that has been together quite a long time. The opportunity is being taken to do some rebuilding this summer. I would not say that this is being done with Torres alone in mind. I I sorry but do not understand the "rags" comment.}

25 May 2011 08:43:06
Anelka's out of contract and Drogba likely to be shifted on, surely we should be going for one of these. Anelka enjoyed his time at LFC, and Drogba would be awesome for us and good mentor for young loose cannon Carrol.

{Ed002's Note - Anelka is not out of contract and there has been no decision made yet about Drogba moving on.}

25 May 2011 08:21:44
Morning Ed
Can you reassure me and other LFC fans that the rumors of us signing Scott Parker are false. He maybe a big fish at West Ham but I can't see him succeeding at LFC and he'd stop Shelvey's progress
Its not as if he did well at Chelsea is it so why would we want to buy him?

RedDan {Ed002's Note - I cannot confirm that there is no interest in Parker but at his age it seems unlikely to me. But you never know. He was injured for most of his final season at Chelsea - aside from that he did fine.}

Honduran international Emilio Izaguirre could be signed from Celtic to fill the left back role.

Heard that MU have beaten us to Young and now is going after Enrique not to mention De Gea for 17mil and MU just won the Premier League. Now that is a message of intent to me that there are going for no.20. I hoped i am wrong and it look as seem that LFC is struggling to attract class players to the club. Liverpool has to act fast in the transfer market for example by signing a world class player like Mata who i believe would be achievable.

These would sent a signal of intent to other players that LFC want to be the No.1 club in England.We have seen in the past few days that some of our targets are either staying in their respective clubs or are not willing to move to LFC. Instead we are going for Brad friedel who is in the 30s, cmon. I know some fans are excited about this, are you joking?Hoped Reina would be impress with this, fingers crossed.

World class players need to see that Liverpool is serious about bringing the club back where it belong.What better way to show the world by signing a world class player NOW and the rest follows and I agreed with Ed's , Mata is achievable for now lets go for him!!!

All the talk coming from Anfield has been about signing the right players, about strengthening the team properly and about making the right purchase for the club. KK and Comolli and the owners have all spoken to the press with these sort of sentiments and with that allow me to continue:

Just say it was possible (which i very much doubt it is) would Sergio Aguero be the right signing for Liverpool? We already have Suarez who plays in the same role, is of the same stature and is putting in top performances for us. Aguero's transfer fee and wages would be astronomical - would his signing fit in with the mantra of the club? No.

The same goes for Pastore, Neymar, Ganso, Sanchez etc etc whilst all great players if you look at there potential transfer fees, wages, attitudes it simply does not fit in with what the club is trying to achieve. These players are young and whilst having had a good season are by no means the finished article or guarante-ed of sucess even if they did move to us (the Brazilians especially are notorious for finding it difficult settling in Europe when there young). Given the risk even if Liverpool could afford it would it be wise to spend so much on one player leaving gaps in the squad we couldn't fill with the remaining budget? No.

I think, based on the noises coming out of the club, that we will sign 5 players maximum. Dann ticks all the boxes in terms of the clubs recuitment policy - there is competition from a number of teams but him being a scouser and us having KK back at the helm i'd say we were favourites to land him (provided his fitness is given the all clear).

Ashley Young is a risk... but again a young English player and a winger, something we have been crying out for since McManaman left for Madrid, means he fits in with transfer policy and is worth trying to sign. Whether or not he can resist the lure of the mancs is open to debate, i hope so.

Charles N'Zogbia may well fit in with club recruitment policy and a low(ish) transfer fee is attractive but i feel that he only ever plays for himself. Had problems at Newcastle, played fantastically for Wigan in the second half of the season but was that for the team or for putting himself in the shop window?? Personally i think there are better players out there and more reliable ones who will give there all to the team.

Stuart Downing - again fits in with the current transfer policy but i feel that his transfer fee would be too high and that he is over-rated. Blows hot and cold and i think a significant risk, has potential but is that potential worth an outlay of 20million? I would say not.

Eden Hazard - would be fantastic to sign him, ticks all the boxes but seems pretty obvious that he is keen on CL football with either Lille or another European team, even if we outbid other clubs i could see him rejecting a move to us sadly - i believe no Champions League next season will seriously affect our transfer targets, trading on the name of our great club will only take us so far, ultimately modern footballers want to be in the elite competition which makes qualification next season vital. If we had it next season i'd say the chances of Hazard signing would of increased massively.

Gervinho - i like this guy, he's young, bags of energy and pace and looks a menace when he's on the ball. Again no Champions League football may be an issue but i feel we have more chance of signing him than Hazard. Competition for his signature (with Arsenal apparently) could be difficult but i like our chances.

Iker Munian - the lad looks great but may have an inflated fee. I think we should try and sign him at all costs, sooner or later we are going to have to outlay big for a youngster (As Atletico Madrid did all those years ago to get Aguero - we offered 8 million they 20 million....sometimes risks have to be taken) and i think Munian is well worth the risk.

I'd be very interested to see who else we sign - not keen at all on Enrique i think he is 2nd rate and that Liverpool should be aiming much higher in terms of the quality they are looking to attract, had a lot of poor left backs previously (see dossenna) and its time we got that position sorted out.

Finally, think we need to be realistic about who we will sign - we are a great club with a fantastic history but are not even in Europe next season and are building for the future, if the fans stay grounded i think we have every chance of a long, successful era under KK and the new owners.

Hi Ed's

Good Morning.

With Kun set to leave A.Madrid, I think they are well set to welcome Arda Turan from Galatasaray.

Was wishing that it would break down and Kenny would put a cheeky bid in for Arda as we seem to have a good relationship with the Turkish club.

Let's see how it goes since the Arda and A.Madrid discussions have been going on for a long time now.

Thanks

If we are snooping around atletico madrid, maybe we should be looking at Fransisco "Fran" Merida, he has a little bit of prem experience from his years at arsenal, the only obstacle i see is that he refused to sign a contract extension with arsenal a couple of years back so he could return to spain, maybe he was homesick, however, he really looks like a great player, another fabregas/ nasri type player.

Hi there ed just read some of the Roumer s about Andy carrol not being too happy at Liverpool and not getting on with team mates an Steve Clark read one on hear and then checked on Newcastle site and one of the ed s on there says he is always on the lash and has had a bit of a talking to just wanted to know if they is any truth to them and if you or any of the other ed s or regular posters could share anything on this situation would hate to think we wasted all that money {Ed001's Note - he has had a bit of a talking to, but it is hardly anything to worry about. He just needs to settle down and get used to his new surroundings.}
