A club record breaking bid has been made by west ham for andy carroll

Yes, according to bbc a 17 mill bid has been placed for andy Carroll. I for one would take that all day long. Interesting to see what happeneds.

So long as its straight cash and not as reported by some a year loan with promise to buy after.

We have been robbed like that with Aqualani twice, i hope the club learns and does not do this again.

Will the big fella want to move to west ham.

Eds the echo stated that Liverpool weren't looking at Ramirez is there any truth they won't name the side who are after him who do u think it is Craig.from Huyton {Ed001's Note - it is possible it is any one of 6 sides, City or Spurs seem the best bet though.}

Liverpool favrouite to sign him....YNWA...!!

Prob spuds replacement 4 Modric.

The metro says he is in talks with us and the spuds were never after him?

Scouts from Liverpool fc where at old Trafford for Uruguay v UAE. Great goal by Ramirez

eds various news papers are claiming the unamed club that ramirez's agent is in talks with is liverpool any news? cheers {Ed001's Note - nothing mate sorry.}

As a liverpool fan.. i do believe alan will be a decent signing... but what i would be more excited about if we can get gaston r signed looked quality today... also ive heard a rumour from a source at stoke... liverpool have inquired about shawcross.. you heard anything?

Not shawcross.

Shawcross wud in a way be a like for like replacement for skrtl, so could be possible. Looks like him also! Haha. Langatang

Who's alan? Singred

Alan who?

He means Joe Allen

Sources up here in scotland seem to think we are going to hi Jack Alan mcgregor deal.anyone else hear this?

He's joined Besiktas.

I hope so. He is class and will push Pepe all the way. Nothing wrong with some healthy competition. Can't understand why no other prem teams are in for him. I'm sure he would rather move to Liverpool than Turkey.

Who is Alan Mcgregor anyway? I am sure Reds fans will not lose any sleep over this one

Note to self- dont trust any sources in scotland

We're not dont worry.
derryred

Just another graig gordon

He's Scotlands 1st choice and a total mystery on why he's not off to the prem.

26 Jul 2012 18:00:58
He eds, hope all is well? Just a quick question? What's the situation with jack buttland I think he is going to be world class and would love Liverpool to buy him and maybe loan him to another club for a yer to gain experience before replacing pepe with him? Is there any teams interested and what value would he be? Thanks paynee {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest in Butland from Liverpool.}

He needs to learn how to get dome height into his clearances before I'd cough up a few quid for him. Did you just see that one against Senegal - OOOOOOOOOOOOMG

West Ham upping their interest in Andy Carroll by offering a fee that would break their transfer record. More will come out soon.

Cheers

Paulo

Unless it's £20 million, then they can forget about wasting our time.

According to the BBC it's another loan to buy offer.

If he is to go and I hope he doesnt then I think only a permeant move away.

Some1 has been on twitter

Ste

I would certaintly hope it breaks their transfer record as its only currently £9m

Wont be much then ... ;) whos there most expensive player anyways ?

West ham owners son Jack Sullivan tweeted yesterday, so there could be some truth in this.

Bellamy was there most expensive purchase

According to BBC £15m - err thanks but no thanks.

2 days ago someone posted the same story claiming an £18 million offer from the Hammers.I didn't believe it then and don't now.They won't come up with anything like the £20 million minimum required to buy him.I'd lay odds they come out with a "loan him to us and we'll talk cash later" offer.

West Ham are notoriously 'careful' when it comes to splashing the cash. If they are sniffing around it means they think they can get Carroll on the cheap (rather like a certain stadium). With the sort of figures being linked to players with less experience - Allen for one - we should put a higher price on Carroll. Or DON'T SELL HIM.

Let him go. Take a hit with him and get shot of the lad and bring in some strikers that can do what we sign them for...score some goals. All this nonsense about he's good in the air, he holds up the ball well, how about score some goals.

£15m I'd bite there hands off!..he isn't worth £10m in today's market

Its simple if we dont get a offer in and around the 18-20 million mark he wont be sold nor will he be loaned out b4 hand,whats so hard to get!

27 Jul 2012 18:11:33
2m up front, wages paid, and 16m in a year if WH stay up.

Am slightly concerned about Enrique's prolonged run of poor form which seems to have continued into pre-season. Given Robinson is probably not quite ready to be 1st team week in week out I was wondering if we have interest in any other LB's?

On that note.....I saw a rumour that Martin Ollson handed in a transfer request and think he could be a decent option. Is there any known interest in him from LFC?

Cheers
MD4 {Ed002's Note - Not from Liverpool, but there is plenty of interest in Olsson from elsewhere.}

I have to agree. Enrique dos not look the player he was wen he first came? I hope we move for Olsson just ta put pressure on him. Also he can play on left wing.

Worst full/back ive ever seen, he should be playing gaelic football, all he ever does is use his hands/arms to try and stop wingers....he's a clumsy clown ive bn saying it for the past 12 months

Enrique was very poor from the midaway point last season and last night he was awful! definately an area we need to look into.

Matt b

Let's no go overboard.
He was good, when we were good.
When the team lost confidence & played badly after Xmas he did too.
Does look out of shape, but I'm sure he'll sort it out or ruthless Rodgers will replace him.

When Enrique first signed I thought we had our first decent Left-Back for years (since Alan Kennedy). Despite a promising start I realised we could have another dud on our hands and I'm now convinced he isn't up to scratch.
Robinson is better as a defender and more local.
With the expected departures of Skirtel and Johnson, I wouldn't mind seeing Kelly,Coates,Agger and Robinson at the back with Flanagan,Carragher,Wisdom and A.N.Other.

I agree that Enrique has been poor, very poor. It seems that he went from fantastic for the first part of last season to poor with nothing in between. He can be a monster I hope he finds his form again. Martin Ollson... not for me, dont think he is of equal quality to say Johnson on the other side, that should be the yardstick.

Maybe he was just tired? Having no one to play so he could take a break, he seemed to loose his edge after playing every game. He is a great player who just needed a rest me thinks.

I will be surprised if enrique cuts it. He flatters to deceive. A very one dimensional player who is a poor defender and whose decision-making is shocking in advanced positions. Him and downing were brutal in terms of assists.

Personally I always thought he was poor, even when he was playing well for us he still had some terrible habits which were always going to become more obvious when his luck was out. Mainly holding on to the ball too long, not playing early / easy passes, tackling with the wrong foot, general bad decision making defensively and also his crossing wasn't great.

Currently he also looks a fair bit overweight and was puffing after a couple of minutes against Roma. I know it's pre season but looks in poor shape for a professional footballer who's only been off the training ground for 2 months. Must not have left the sofa / sunbed.

In saying all that he's a decent left back when he hits a purple patch. But I'm pretty sure Rodgers will be unimpressed.

Glenjo left back and Mclaughlin / Kelly / Flanagan right

Reckon we'll bring in competition for LB. No strong rumours yet as BR still looking at what he has, i.e. Robinson. He'll realise Robbo needs of years yet and make enquiries for a LB when they get back from the US.

You lot do realise that's only his second 45 minutes of pre season. Granted he was poor for half a season but how can you judge someone so soon into pre season under new ideas. What a joke

"You lot do realise that's only his second 45 minutes of pre season. Granted he was poor for half a season but how can you judge someone so soon into pre season under new ideas. What a joke"

You're the joke I'm afraid, why do some people assume players should come back from preseason with the lung capacity of a small rodent? Also what are these 'new ideas' you refer to, controlling and passing the ball? running? Everyone else seems to be doing alright.

He's been training since the 4th of July, he should be embarrassed with what he's shown so far. 3 weeks into preseason after a 7 week break, even Joe Cole looks fitter and sharper.

Enrique is huffing like a 14year old dog on a sunny day, his control and passing have been sunday league. He needs a rocket up his backside. {Ed001's Note - more to the point, he spent the second half of last season the same way. That is the worry. We need to find out what is wrong with him and fix it, or leave him out of the first team while whatever is wrong is sorted out.}

Nah, it's not he's not up to scratch. Wanted to prove himself when he arrived, played to the best of his ability (which was good), but he's got nobody good enough behind him to give him a boot up the arse.

Not a major issue...we have Robinson, Johnson and Agger who can all play in that position

The one positive about Enrique from the Roma match was that he did look annoyed with himself when he was taken off. Now he just has to do something about it.

Hopefully that's also a sign he doesn't think he's made it already. The way Comolli was throwing money around at players was always likely to produce some players who aren't motivated anymore because of the £60-70,000 landing in their bank account every week.

You give me a new job, triple my wage and all my co workers are under performing for the same wage... watch how long I work my backside off, half a season perhaps?

Is Mattias Surez still an option? {Ed002's Note - I very much doubt it. Liverpool along with Bayern Munich, PSG, Zenit, Arsenal, Newscastle, Lazio and Juventus have shown an interest in Matias Suarez who has already rejected an approach from Galatasaray. Although an initial approach from CSKA was spurned, they have returned with a further bid and they believe that the deal is all but complete. For a move to England he would need a work permit and not playing for the national team is a major issue against it happening. Claiming on an exception basis will also be difficult for someone of his age. His other option would be to seek a Belgian passport and stay a while longer there. Otherwise, he can move freely to other European countries.}

Suarez signed for Moskwa don't know which one Cska, Dynamo or Lok in a deal worth 15 m euros according to france football {Ed002's Note - CSKA.}

Ed002, you say that he'll need a permit to move to a PL team. if thats so why would his agent be claiming to be in talks with a prem team. i know that they usually try and drum up interest with these kinds of statements but surely they wouldnt make a statement thats so blatently incorrect. just a thought as i think we're poised to sign this kid {Ed002's Note - All players from outside of Europe need a work permit but you can still talk to clubs. Ramirez, Oscar, Ganso ... for example. Anyway, Matais Suarez will not be moving to Liverpool.}

26 Jul 2012 13:56:30
Apparently Brendan Rodgers really wants Fernando Amorebieta Cb of Athletic Bilbao. My only concern is where it is Agger or Skrtel most likely to be leaving as Fernando is left footed. He has a release clause of 26m euros but only his contract runs out in the summer of 2013.

Haych

This price could be slashed to 12 million

26 Jul 2012 15:07:21
eds do you think that Ramirez is an alternative to Dempsey as Fulham are playing hardball.
CrazyRed {Ed002's Note - I would not get too excited about what Betancourt has said.}

Why not ed? {Ed002's Note - Other clubs are talking to Bologna not his agent. Betancourt has already contacted at least two clubs to seek talks. You need to wait to see what happens.}

If we were to sign Ramirez that would mean we're not in for Dempsey anymore.

26 Jul 2012 15:00:32
i have heard from a reliable source that liverpool are interested in a swap for andy carroll with newcastles demba ba and maybe some cash incentive for liverpool ill keep you posted for more

26 Jul 2012 17:08:21
Wow MAYBE come cash incentive. your source must be tip top consider. Ba has a £7.5m buyout clause im not exactly in the know but im led to believe the owners would want a bit more in return than that for Carroll instead of straight swap

He does have a release clause which runs out on the 31st july. But the clause is for teams in the champions league.

Surely we would have to give Newcastle cash! BA is twice the player of Carroll

Thankyou.If you read the papers this is old news

26 Jul 2012 13:03:40
Hi Eds. The Garston Ramirez story appears to have reared its head again today with reports from both sky and sporting life that he is set to join a Premier Club with Liverpool and Spurs very much in contention.
Any update your end as he is one player that could really ignite us under Brendan {Ed002's Note - Nothing right now.}

26 Jul 2012 13:01:57
Hey, hearing rumors this past week that the Allen deal is 85% certain to happen, the Dempsey deal is around 70% due to the f**k up on the NESV website with Fulham making it difficult for us, however I still am hearing that he will be a red next season. The Kevin Mirallas rumours are quite simply, just rumours. Liverpool, along with around 6 other big European clubs are interested in him, but Werder Bremen are the front runners, and I'd be very surprised if he was at Anfield for next season.

thanks, JFT96 COYR

Transfers aren't as simple as virus scans... You dont have a percentage bar increasing as negotiation goes on.. so your real name is either D.A.R.Y.L and you have a statistical computer chip for a brain, or your making this up.

Extract from the Metro.......

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is desperate to add some much needed width to his new-look team next season, and has turned to Ramirez after baulking at Fulham's £10 million asking price for Clint Dempsey.

A fast, agile and elegant left winger who can play up front, Ramirez is rated as one of the finest players in Italy, and has been tracked by Barcelona, AC Milan and the two Manchester clubs in the last six months.

However, it appears that Liverpool, who held initial talks over a deal with Bologna last month, have jumped the queue, with the players agent arriving in England this week to sort out a transfer to the Premier League:

'Gaston is ready to leave Italy - so much so I am in England for talks with a Premier League club,' agent Pablo Betancourt told Mercato.

'He is one of the most important players in Uruguray, so there are no shortage of offers.'

Inter Milan and Tottenham are two other clubs believed to have significant interest in Ramirez, but neither are willing to stump up the £15 million Bologna want for the 21-year-old.

That clears the way for Liverpool to get their man, and they are hopeful they land the player in the next fortnight, despite the transfer being complicated, as Ramirez will be on duty for Uruguay during the London Olympics.

The former Penarol ace, who is contracted to Bologna until 2016, has already set his heart on a move to Anfield

Andy

How about throwing aquilani into the pot...? him plus 8-10mil should do it i reckon, assuming he's hapy to go there

i see Ramirez playing in a similar position to aquilani - more a AM than LWF - so makes sense.

cetainly would like him to come regardless as great talent and younger than aquaman.

let's see what happens...

sinner21

Ramirez is meeting with Spurs in London.

He's in London for the Olympics not to meet with spurs.....they have already signed sig so they don't need another attacking mid especially with van der vaart staying put

Bologna has actually increased his price to 25m Euro...and in doing so has scared off Inter...

Yeah without a doubt...

I have it confirmed to liverpool fans that gaston ramirez is not in talks with liverpool his agent is in fir talks with spurs

Source??
Name???

Strange that? Seeing Spuds are linked to every player we are!
Lee73

Ok we will see then..
Evry time i post i get slaufhtered and most of the time im correct..
I have no specific sources though heard a good word fron few people..
One thing i gurantee since u are all getting sensitive is that liverpool will not be signing gaston ramirez as much as i would like he is too expensive, spurs arsenal and man city are all possibilites though i think spurs and milan are the frontrunners, so next time il not say anthing but we will see

"And I'll take my ball with me"

Doesn't bale play left wing...?.?

Go back to your own page fool

Out of billions of bs you got it right ha.

Aaaaarh the return of Daniel haliwell !

Take your wooden spoon else were please

Redman j4t96 ynwa

You state Milan are front runners with spurs yet his agent says he wont be staying in Italy?

26 Jul 2012 12:14:46
Metro have stated today its Liverpool after Gaston Ramirez and they seem pretty confident. My own thoughts are its Spurs and not us.

My guess is that if we will only get him if Suarez is leaving

redkenyan

How reliable is the metro on rameriz

Yes, to Spurs, bought with the Modric money.

Spurs need strikers i thought this kid is a winger.

26 Jul 2012 12:01:47
Ed,

Gaston Ramirez's agent just confirmed that he is in England to discuss with a premiership club on a possible move for Gaston to England. Do you think the club is Liverpool?

O'seunfunmi (Anfield Red) {Ed001's Note - my opinion is that it is most likely to be Man City, but it could be any one of 6 teams.}

City do a lot of their dealings in London. City want a player who is happy to be a squad player that can replace Adam Johnson in the squad. Johnson and Mancini do not get on.

Disney!

When the Agent talking in London then it's Tottenham .

If it is us, does point at Suarez leaving Ed? {Ed002's Note - I really would not get too excited about anything Betancourt has said as I is working separately to the club.}

Man city
Man united
Chelsea
Liverpool
Spurs

I don't think arsenal is after him at all.

Dont think hed go to united after that fiasco.

He said london so its obviosly spurs or he would have said merseyside {Ed002's Note - Don't read too much in to it - he is hawking him around and ahas approached two clubs that I am aware of. Seemingly Bologna will listen to offers over 25M euors only and Betancourt is seeking a hefty signing on fee.}

26 Jul 2012 11:21:46
I heard that CSKA are taking in Razmus Elm. That's one less rumour.

Drigan

Thank god, he's crap

Actually it's one more rumour

26 Jul 2012 11:16:46
Any news on Gaston Ramirez. According to reports his agent is in London discussing a move to England. Would be a great signing for the wings.

Could one of the Eds shed some light on his situaton.

CrazyRed {Ed001's Note - all I know is he is trying to sort a move out to England, Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, United, City are all interested in him. It could be any of them.}

CMON LADS LETS GET GASTON!! :D

26 Jul 2012 11:00:57
Hey eds wondering if yous cud tell me were doni is ?? {Ed001's Note - I don't know actually, I hadn't even thought about it, until you mentioned him now.}

I remember reading somewhere that he was given some time off for some personal problems. Don't know if that was true though.

He became a free agent yesterday

Tottenham are interested in Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling.

The teen is set to be made available for loan this season.

The Daily Mail says Spurs maintain an interest in Liverpool winger Sterling, 17, who is wanted on loan by QPR.
Eds do you know anything about this? Thanks {Ed001's Note - the Premier League rules were changed before last season, as I remember it, one of the changes was that players had to be 18 before they could be loaned out. Sterling will not be eligible for loan until the January window.}

That would fit into the FSG "Project". Wait until we get a good player and then let him go. At all costs don't entertain the fans and certainly don't finish higher than 8th!!

I posted around three weeks ago that Sterling was set to be loaned to Wolves. Ed002 said I was BS******G as I said heard it from a reliable source! I was not aware of the ruling - just passing on what I was told by a senior member of staff at Wolves. Not happened yet so I may be wrong. But Ed I assure you I was told this by someone I know and trust.

Raheem sterling should be playing for our first team this season hes way better than downing

26 Jul 2012 10:20:32
Have you seen the kjaer rumours pop up again?!

26 Jul 2012 09:11:16
Hi eds are we still close to signing Allen and Dempsey and are Fulham refusing to deal with us at the moment?

Thanks
Mighty reds {Ed001's Note - I am not sure mate, Allen situation hasn't changed, they just seem to be trying to prepare their fans for losing him. But the Fulham one is difficult to find out, the signing announcement was a huge faux pas and placating them is not easy. I still think it will happen, but they are making us sweat.}

It says somewhere online that Swansea could deal with spurs over the Allen transfer to spite Rodgers? This is a bit far fetched isn't it?

Mighty reds {Ed001's Note - seems highly unlikely to me.}

Is Dempsey at least working on his fitness because it would be helpful if he were to be available to take part in our early games.

Face it guys we are not signing any quality this year or for a few more years to come.
FSB will not sign anyone who's NOT Cheap! that their code for at a young age AND TO BE VAULUABLE ENOUGH TO SELL ON, what wrong with being Good enough to Paly and keep............SELLING CLUB,,, IITS gonna be TACKY from now on...........FSG Out

26 Jul 2012 08:04:17
Any news on Mirallas ED's? I think he could be worth a punt at the reported value of £10m. There's something Ronaldo-esque about him don't you agree?

Pete. {Ed002's Note - Lille, Toulouse and, in particular, Werder Bremen have been showing an interest in Mirallas after a move to Bayern Munich failed to materialise. Unconfirmed reports identify interest from Arsenal and Liverpool. Would be a decent addition to the squad.}

26 Jul 2012 08:04:13
Eds

With Scott Sinclair rejecting the new contract at Swansea,will Liverpool be interested in him..?

Great site guys {Ed002's Note - I have postulated that they may well have an interest.}

I hope not!!

Scott Sinclair, Joe Allen, Clint Dempsey & Fabio Borini...I bet the rest of the Premier League are quaking in their boots at the thought of facing Liverpool next season. If these guys are the best we can do, then we may as well call it a day.

25 Jul 2012 21:34:01
eds, whats the offer we have put in for allen? i dont care about prices, just like if we are giving them anyone on loan? or any other details (except price)
thanks, please reply {Ed002's Note - I don't know what offer was made to Swansea but clearly they are miffed that Liverpool have ignored an agreement they clubs had. The matter will no doubt continue a while longer.}

Why should we have to stand back and let other clubs sign Swansea players? If Spurs can make offers then surely so can we. I appreciate that Swans will want to keep their players but if the players want to move then surely it is down to the player where he goes assuming a sensible offer is made.

It apparantly included Shelvey on loan for this season

Dont u people read the news? they can go after allen if they hit his release clause of £15M......

This anger that the press are claiming is total lies. Swansea are happy to do business with Liverpool at the right price. Buck said he had a private conversation with Huw which went well.
Red sheep.

I have to say I'm a little disappointed that we're going back on our word on this agreement. If it's in writing or just a gentlemen's agreement I'm still not comfortable with the club going against it. If the player was world class and would immediately improve the squad maybe but the lad is young and is unlikely to pull up trees.

Do we really need Allen when there is already Henderson and Shelvey at the club who are both young and improving?

So much for this deal being very close!

Liverpool just cant do transfer windows - its painful to sit through it.
Boozley

Has Henderson been linked with anyone this summer Eds? I haven't seen any news on him and don't know if iv'e missed anything?

Levans {Ed001's Note - not that I have heard.}

I hope not. he is an english midfielder with a good touch, which is a rarity.

Hi eds, great site!

Is there any possible interest from Liverpool for Adem Ljajic?

Scottish Red {Ed001's Note - there was interest a while ago, it seems to have cooled though.}

26 Jul 2012 00:07:51
ed with Gerard Deulofeu do you think we would go for a loan or look to buy?DORSET RED {Ed001's Note - I don't think he will be coming to us at all myself.}

I think that sterling is better than him to be honest and ibe can definitely be better also. i don't see why we need him.

"Inter, they like the player
, but we are very far off with regards to the valuation, since now Bologna ask for nearly 25M", Ramirez' agent Pablo Betancourt told Calcio Mercato.

"The player is very likely to say goodbye to Italy, so much so that now I am in London to talk with a Premier League club", added the Uruguayan's representative.

"Wolfsburg? They were they first club to make an approach, but for them some of the figures made it unrealistic."

And Betancourt is confident that Ramirez' hype, leading to a hefty asking price, is well justified.

"He is one of the most important players in his national team, therefore there is no shortage of offers, though he is unlikely to remain in Italy."

This is what Gaston Ramirez's agent said earlier. I hope I'm wrong but I think he could be of to Spurs.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Spurs have sigurdsoon and van der vart who play ramirez's position so i doubt its spurs. arsenal...hope not but that seems a lot more likely

What a kick in the nutts that would be.!

Could be Arsenal if they get a hefty fee for RVP but more likely Spurs imo. Especially if van der vaart leaves as has been rumoured. No way will we pay anything like 25m euros for him.

Who's about to sell Modric and needs a quality creative player ? Ed02 has told us time and time again our interest in the player was a possible REPLACEMENT for Suarez.

PieInTheSkyMan

Have it from a good source that he is in talks with tottenham fee agreed it will be keept quite untill modric is sold

Just because he is London that does not mean that Liverpool's representetives may meet them there. Don't forget the people with the pen will be in London watching the games. Plus the solicitors thast draw up contracts are based in London, so don't rule anything out just yet fellow reds.

I just read an article (forgot the source sorry) saying that the agent was cited at Merseyside. Reason they offered being that liverpool didn't want to pay Fulham's asking price and have turned their attention elsewhere, which again I was very happy about! so dont know what to believe with media these days. fingers crossed

Was sigurdsson not signed as modric' replacement ?

Am i wrong in thinking tho that either LFC or FSG have London based offices? Seem to remember a lot of meetings since FSG started discussions to buy LFC were held in London? {Ed001's Note - most clubs have a rep of some kind based in London or offices there.}

Why do talks between the club and an agent have to happen in Liverpool??

Wasn't the club itself bought in London?

Maybe his agent is in London for more than one reason and said to LFC to get their reps down there?

Sorry, but there are some right thick people on here at times.

Why just because his agent is in London does it mean that it's a London club?

Could it not be possible that his agent is with the player in London as he prepares for the Olympics?

It's not unheard of for meetings to be held in London hotels and the like you know?

I need to check my geography? Yes London is the capital of the country it is host to the Olympic games for 2012. Think I know where it is. I also know that is where Gaston Ramirez is, I also know his agent is there to open talks with Premier League club. Simple fact is, if Liverpool could/would sign him it makes things easier by being in London, sure our reps won't mind paying the £50 on the train to go and sign this guy. I also never said it was talks with a PL club not Liverpool and said I hoped it would be. LFCtillIDie
