only two possibilities:

a) and most probable one, its complete bull again
b) we are preparing to sell either of coutinho/ firmino

seeing as its a rag reporting it its probably a) :)

It's fairly irrelevant now since we signed Mane. Plus I didn't see much that was worth that much in the Euros.

2+2 = 10. Nothing to see here.

Joao Mario doesn't play in an attacking or wide role like Coutinho, Firmino or Mane. He is a box to box midfielder and a very good one at that. I have followed his progress since his youth days when a Sporting side which also included him, Teixeira and Ilori beat Liverpool's youth team in a UEFA Youth tournament a few years ago.

My take is that he (and Max Meyer) was looked at as an option alongside Wijnaldum after Zielinksi fell through, but Klopp decided on Wijnaldum.

{Ed041's Note - I thought he looked bang average in the euros (if I'm thinking of the right player) looked very limited, but admittedly that is really all I have seen.

Having seen how quick Mane is I'm happy with that, we've not had that kind of pace married with skill in the team for ages.

Doubt we are. Unless it was before we signed mane or wijnaldum. But would just say I was quite impressed with him at the euros. Certainly more than Portugal sanchez. Not sure how git a big move to bayern. Touch passing decisions looked awful.

@ Kopdogs - you know Renato Sanches is still only 18 right? And that he bossed it for Benfica last season? The lad is going far in the game and Bayern simply moved early to secure the services of one of the best young players in the game - i've only read others opinions (within the game) but by all accounts he is a superstar in the making - hilarious that your talking smack about him based on the Euro's. And for sure he will be (if he isn't already) a much better player than Joao Mario.

They usually brought Sanchez on as a sub and he bossed the game? He was one of their best players.

I don't think you have understood anything I've said.

p. s. where did I say he 'bossed the game'?

Seano, there are rumours that Sanches is actually 24 but his parents messed up registering his birth.

Mario has got serious burners but nothing else as far as I was concerned and Sanches to me is an unbelievable player for his age. he will have a big career ahead of him for sure.

@ Mr Dennis - rumours and nothing more, I'm not basing my opinion on a "rumour" just because the lad is exceptional for his age.

27 Jul 2016 13:20:47
Can't say I seen a lot of Benfica last year. Or would I want to have. I wasn't talking smack about the lad. Was just stating my opinion of his performance and that I though joa Mario looked a much better player. Not sure what his age has got to do with anything. Just because a player is young doesn't mean he will be a stay. Seen mist of the games and he just for me a good 70/ 80 per cent of his touched resulted in him losing the ball.

Is Sanches our generations Roger Milla?

The man who scored for Cameroon when he was actually 57 years old!

"Sanches says that he was 18 years of age, but I think we need to look at the past. The data is wrong. His birth was officially registered years after his birth, so it is not correct in the registry.

I think he is 23 or 24 years old. However, he is very good. A quote from respected French coach Guy Roux. Sanches is the new Obafemi Martins.

@ Mr Dennis - even a casual search on google will reveal articles proving that Guy Roux's claims were completely false and without substance. A Protugese newspaper even realised a copy of his birth certificate which stated his birth date clearly. There is also a video of him when he is 13 in 2010. Guy Roux's claims were just utter bull and the fact you are believe them and are using them to judge the player shows your level of intellect.

Afternoon eds! With the club desperate for a full back now, has Hysaj of Napoli ever been of interest to us? He's young so fits the FSG style and is a rare full back in that he loves a challenge, similar to Flanno.

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}

26 Jul 2016 16:40:11
I just got him in my manager mode. Must be happening.

Agree3 Disagree2

26 Jul 2016 17:43:38
And what style would that be?

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Jul 2016 19:27:50
Style that appreciates defensive responsibilities rather than thinking they're a winger.

Agree1 Disagree2

26 Jul 2016 19:43:18
Hysaj is an excellent defender. I watched some Napoli matches last season to check out their LB Ghoulam, but the guy who really looked like an excellent player was Hysaj. He likes to go forward, but his defending is where he stands out; loves tackling and has a physical style of play.

No interest from us though.

Allan Rodrigues is training with Hertha Berlin ahead of an expected season long loan. I think this would be a great move for him as they are a well run and coached club who will hopefully be playing in the Europa League should they qualify. The Bundesliga is a really good standard and if he can establish himself there we will have a real player o our hands.

Rumours on the web are gathering pace we are in negotiations with PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe after his refusal to extend his contract which only has 2 years left to run.
At 20 years of age fits the "mold" of FSG.
Have any of the EDS heard anything on this?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Liverpool being in any negotiations with PSG regarding the player and I can't imagine that Liverpool are talking to the player himself. It would be fair to say that PSG's Presnel Kimpembe has played well enough in the junior side to get some opportunities for the first team and to attract the interest of Monaco, Everton, Sampdoria and Torino as approaching the summer it was known that he would be reluctant to agree a new contract without guarantees.

I did explain last year that there was another young PSG defender Liverpool were looking at but that went nowhere.}

26 Jul 2016 14:13:01
Enough of this 'mould' rubbish. its s simple case of buying the players they need and paying their valuation. They don't always get it right but there are plenty of examples that don't fit 'the mould',

Lucas' move to gala will pave the way for Gary Medel to come in. Anderson Talisca is all nonsense. Watch.

Talisca is nonsense, as is Medel. If Lucas leaves, Stewart will probably be taking his place in the squad.
