Hi eds am I right in thinking lavezzi is injured for a month?And this is why he is not on the winter training with psg?

Believable0 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - No.}

27 Jan 2015 21:12:49
Oh! Any idea why he s not with his team for training?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - You could try the search engine. They want him gone.}

28 Jan 2015 18:01:59
He refused to train with en on a training week abroad and went home to argentina with cavani if i'm not misstaken. Now psg just want to offload him. The interest from some italian clubs has after that cooled off.

I've been told we have been scouting Ruben Neves of porto, and are impressed, with a view of a move in the summer, is there any truth in this ed's.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - He may well have been watched but Liverpool do not have the sort of money Porto want (what they quoted Milan) - particularly on a child. It won't happen this summer.)

I was wondering if the rumoured interest in Akpom is true

Thanks

{Ed002's Note - I don't know what these rumours are but I would doubt it.}

Our current right back situation is vastly over staffed in my opinion, with; Manquillo, Johnson, Flanno and McLaughlin.

I never understood why Rodgers brought in Manquillo in the first place, but are we planning on keeping him for the full two years?

Does anybody know if Flanno is going to be offered a new contract?

And somebody please tell me that Johnson is going to turn down this new contract offer?! If he is offered enough to stay with us and Flanno isn't offered a new contract, Rodgers will have officially lost his marbles, and you lot may argue but for this would actually be the final straw with Rodgers for me, as it demonstrates just how poorly our youngsters have been managed and I think it would speak volumes to others in the academy that no matter how hard you worked to force your way into the team (Flanno), you still won't get given the chance.

Also, I'm sure the Eds will agree, but really enjoying how quiet this January is

Cheers

{Ed002's Note - As far as I know the plan is to keep Manquillo for the two years - unless his club want him back after a year.}

27 Jan 2015 20:38:08
why keeping Manquillo? One of our worst signings and at least we can send him back to his club

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - For a price.}

28 Jan 2015 13:02:43
Manquillo, one of our worst signings? Eh?

Eds - With regards to the Echo story on Ojo going out on-loan? 1) do you know how high the interest is (does a Championship club want to take him)? 2) Does he have to wait till he's 18 (June) in other words till next season?

Believable5 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - He could make a youth loan to a lower league team but he would likely not get in most Championship sides. I would say he is too young and it may do more harm than good - remembering he still has to attend school etc..}

29 Jan 2015 23:52:04
Looks like he's signing for Wigan, could be a good move but he could be in a sinking ship that could hurt his confidence, Wigan have sold 3/4 of their best players this window and still don't have a goal scorer which they blatantly need

OK, so I know the source is the Daily Express, hence as reliable as me making it up. However, for reasons of completeness, they are reporting that Real Madrid are planning a £26m "swoop" for Raheem Sterling.

I would be very disappointed as, forget his worth on the market, he is quickly becoming a key player for us. Losing Suarez and then Stevie means that we cannot afford to lose another player who 'makes things happen'. In a few years time, when Ibe may have stepped up, so be it, but right now, we need Raheem more than we need £26m. Of course our hands may be forced by FFP.

Believable1 Unbelievable9

{Ed002's Note - They are one of a couple of clubs interested in the player. This has been discussed before.}

27 Jan 2015 11:51:34
Thanks Ed. They're also reporting the other one may be Chelsea. I'd be even more disappointed if we sold an 20yo England full England international to a direct competitor in our league! Can't really blame the player as, if he wants to win silverware, then, right now, he has more chance at Chelsea than us. But would still be really, really disappointed. How long has he got left to run on his current contract, Eds?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Until 2017.}

27 Jan 2015 11:52:56
Sorry, just checked. His current one is until 2017, so no immediate panic of a Bosman. Bayern Munich are also reported to have interest.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City may also show an interest. BM will not be an option.}

27 Jan 2015 12:40:01
I know we don't discuss numbers but that's ridiculously low, we couldn't replace him for anything like that. double it and it's possible, but he has so much potential why would we sell him for the price of a really good player, not a possibly world class one?

Agree0 Disagree0

I know what you mean Zimbo, and that's my point. A player will have different values to different clubs. To us, right now, he's almost priceless. To other clubs, he may well represent £26m of outlay. Prime examples abound - Kroos, Shakiri and others have moved recently for much less than £26m. Is Sterling better than them? Subjective

I would say the goal v chelsea put his price up a bit so if we got say 35 million for him I would sell. If sturridge gets back to fitness that puts our front 3 as Sturridge, Coutinho and Lallana which is pretty good imo. Ibe to play of the bench or as a starter on rotation.

Scoring a goal in one game would only put the price up at all if the buying club was run by children.

Redrosie They bought Torres after he scored 2 vs chelsea didn't they? And for 50m

28 Jan 2015 09:20:50
Kroos and shaquiri both had a year on their contracts so you're not comparing like for like.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2015 11:22:41
I'm sure the only reason Chelsea bought Torres for £50 million was because he scored 2 against them. In other news I hear they are looking to spend a further £30 million on Jon Stead after his goals at the weekend.

hello eds.

will Luis Alberto get his chance next season?
what is u r personal thoughts about the player?
It looks like many bright prospects are getting piled up in the club.

THANKS

Believable4 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - His career has been disrupted by Liverpool - I would expect him to move on in the summer.}

26 Jan 2015 23:56:29
Hi eds,

Just wondering what's the update with Lavezzi now? And whether there's still interests in bringing in a goalkeeper for short term? (Judging from what Brendan said it's unlikely but I'd prefer to hear it from you as he sometimes talk rubbish)

Cheers

knightza

Believable3 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I cannot see that Lavezzi would be added unless someone were to leave. There has been interest in several goalkeepers, but generally that has been in regards of those able to sign a pre-contract for the summer.}
