Hi ed, what is the latest on Adam Johnson to Liverpool? Is it still a chance?

Please post on rumour page.

FyrenK {Ed001's Note - until they sign a replacement he is going nowhere.}

alrite ed are we still keeping an eye on afellays situation or has that long gone

ste liverpool {Ed009's Note - I don't believe there is much chance I am afraid. He is a player we have always been linked with but with no apparent reason, we have never shown sustained interest as far as I am aware. There is still a chance he could be offered to Arsenal as a sweetener for the Fabregas deal though, I suppose.}

Enrique is about to sign this week/beginning of next week. Also Scott Dann will join soon as BCFC look to cash in on players.

No marquee signing like some people are hoping for. Remember we aren't a video game or man city.

Enrique could sign within next 24 hours.

Damn, im gonna miss all these aguero rumours, kinda like the end of an era :/ hey ed's, what do you think the chances are he will get bored of his ridiculous wages and fancy a move to Mersyside this January? {Ed002's Note - I reckon by Christmas he will be nailed on to Sunderland.}

27 Jul 2011 22:38:37
Hi eds. Do you think we will be going for a lb? If so who? Enrique, cissokho or pereira? Cheers {Ed002's Note - Maybe - and all are options. Enrique must have the edge.}

27 Jul 2011 21:59:30
Hi eds. In the past it had been said that Aguero would not be bid for because of the cost. SSN claim the deal is near £35m which is what we paid for Carroll (although I think Carroll will be a good buy). Surely we could have got Aguero for the same price, is it his wages that we could not afford? Would you have preferred Aguero to Carrol?

Andy {Ed002's Note - You really don'yt want me to expalin this, again.}

27 Jul 2011 21:59:16
Ed would there be any chance of Toni Kroos of bayern he seems a decent young player {Ed002's Note - I have to say probably not.}

One of my staff is a close relative of lfc press officer. Occassionaly let's the odd piece of info slip, not enough to get him into trouble nor too far in advance that would make it obvious where the info has come from. Same source stated in jan that c Adam deal would be picked up in the summer for 6-8 mil and that downing would be the top target

Has today stated that centre back and left back will sign in next 7 days No name for left back but s dann is most definatley top target for centre back As with downing lfc expect dann to put transfer request in to force Birmingham to deal at a reasonable price

looks like cazorla has officially made a move to malaga. gutted. {Ed002's Note - And is this a shock to you? There was no chance of a move to Liverpool and it has been very, very clear that a move to Malaga was going to happen. Or is this another one slipping away from Liverpool?}

27 Jul 2011 17:24:29
hi ed is it right that we have made a bid for scott dan i so hope its right, that boy is an would be class, he would bleed red for us for sure, carra mark 2 for me.9m would be a snip.king kenny has to get that lad in for us....come on ed what news do u have please.JAY ESSEX RED FOR LIFE RED TILL DEAD. I hear Jovanovic's agent has just said he expects him to sign for Anderlecht soon.

Sigh of relief, lets just hope it happens.

Newcastle are going to renew interest in David Ngog, Bolton were looking like the most likely destination, but Ngog would prefer a bigger team than Bolton. Considering the amount of French players at newcastle, he would fit in well there.

Heard a rumour were interested in Hamburg's left-back Marcell Jansen. Any truth in this Eds?

27 Jul 2011 15:52:10
will chelski apparently interested in adam johnson, if he did become available do you think he would choose us over them? {Ed002's Note - Neither club have made an offer for him. There is little point in speculating until they do.}

27 Jul 2011 14:54:50
hey eds, do you know if m baye niang is realy a free agent and are we likely to pick him up if he is.
thanks JC93 {Ed002's Note - It is not as simple as that. He is only 16 and not able to sign a professional contract and there is a dispute over his junior contract at present. If he were to be signed I suspect it would eb awhile before you saw him anywhere near the first team.}

27 Jul 2011 14:36:08
how cool liverpool after young spaniard called NACHO

27 Jul 2011 14:29:35
ed u are saying the chances of shane long and rodellega are very slim so who do u think we will buy as our back up striker.

awesome site {Ed002's Note - I am not going to guess at who might be bought. I would expect both Long and Rodellega to be looking for regular first team football.}

Liverpool are looking at Porto's Uruguayan left-back Alvaro Pereira, according to reports in Portugal.

Reds boss Dalglish is on the look-out for someone to fill the hole on the left side of his defence - right-back Glen Johnson played a significant amount of games there in the second half of last season.

The Scot lost out to Manchester City for Arsenal's Gael Clichy while he has not followed up long-standing interest in Newcastle's Jose Enrique.

However, Pereira has a reported £17.5million buy-out clause in his contract, and with Liverpool having already spent close to £50m on players this summer and yet to offload a number of fringe players, that price may be too high.

11.37 BST Ligue 1 expert Matt Spiro tweets that Michel Bastos is linked with Spurs in L'Equipe. Lyon want to sell but asking price of 15m has put Juventus off.
__________________________
Took this off of ESPN. What happenend to our interest in him? {Ed002's Note - Bastos made it clear he did not want to move to Liverpool. He said Turin was the only place for him and his family. The following day he said London was the only place for him and his family. In any case, it is not going to be Liverpool.}

With the hopeful departures of Aquilani, Degen, El Zhar, Jovanovic, Poulsen, Ngog, Soto and Insua, we currently have at least 2 players of quality in every Forward and Midfield position. I.E.:

CF: Carroll/Kuyt
LW: Downing/Pacheco/Cole
CAM: Gerrard/Meireles/Shelvey
RW: Suarez/Maxi
DM: Lucas/Spearing
CM: Hendo /Adam

Obviously a lot of these players can and will play in different positions/formations but the above is just to show we are well covered in my opinion. Even though some posters still want another attacker with pace (physical & mental), I believe if we get the defence right we won't miss such a player.

Now I know it will cost a lot of money but if we do shift most of the players mentioned at the top of my post, I fully believe that we should make significant bids for Baines and Cahill. We would then have one of if not the best defences in the EPL. I.E:

LB: Baines/Robinson/Aurelio
LCB: Cahill/Agger
RCB: Carra/Skrtel
RB: Johnson/Kelly/Flanagan

With these full backs nearly all possessing good pace, creativity and crossing ability they would be very effective and it would be exciting to watch them play under Kenny. Potentially a 3-5-2 system could be very effective.

Ed002, are these 2 players attainable to LFC, how much would they cost and do you agree that it would be the way to go for LFC if we could shift most of the guys mentioned at the top?

Red Otter {Ed002's Note - Cahill and Baines would I am sure both be available - at the right price. I rather thought that that Baines would have been a target of Manchester City, but with their purchase of Clichy that option has gone. I suspect that Arsenal have an interest but would not want to pay what could be a very high fee, and I suspect Liverpool would be put off by the fee as well. As for Cahill, Arsenal seems a more likely destination but he is certainly an option. Perhaps something involving Ngog is viable but again the price will be high. Scott Dann seems more likely.}

Wigan Athletic are to offer striker Hugo Rodallega a new contract to keep him at the DW Stadium.

The Latics are keen to keep the Colombia international, who is into the final year of his contract and can talk to clubs from January 1.

The rumours of a move to Liverpool etc must have being his agent attempting to push for a new deal, which seems to have worked. AK47

Liverpool goalkeeper Martin Hansen is poised to join Bradford City on loan.

27 Jul 2011 11:57:54
Ed, is there still any interest in Eriksen from Ajax? He could provide fantastic backup to both sides of the wing and to Suarez.

ToonRed {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and AC Milan have shown an interest in Eriksen. I don't know of any interest right now and thge chances of a move to Liverpool this year are very, very low. The player has declared an interest to play in Spain, but AC Milan remain the most interested club. A week or so back someone from the Milan Press Office said he had heard of interest from Manchester United - but I am not aware of any confirmation of said interest.}

27 Jul 2011 11:45:27
Hi Ed
What do you think the chances of singing Rodallega are?
I think he would be a quality back up striker for Suarez and Caroll (much better than Ngog).
Great Job :) {Ed002's Note - I would say chances are reasonably slim. I think it is no more than speculation by some newspapers or web sites.}

BST BREAKING NEWS: Marca reports that Juan Mata will sign for Arsenal in a 15 million deal. Tottenham could make a late bid but that's the only thing preventing it being a done deal. Hope this is not true

BUT BEFORE MORE SIGNINGS WE HAVE TO OFF LOAD THE FRINGE PLAYERS no lb this season just a cb and a 2nd striker. 1 marque signing 2 be reveled.

27 Jul 2011 10:02:33
Mata deal is not dead in the water... Trust me Valencia want to sell but don't want to sound desperate.
A bid of around 23m will secure this world class player who will compliment Suarez and Carroll in attack

Liverpool are also interested in Long, having sent scouts to watch the Republic of Ireland international score twice during Reading's friendly against Northampton last weekend.

The Merseysiders are also willing to bide their time before making a cut-price swoop for Newcastle left-back Jose Enrique, who appears to have fallen out of favour with the club's owners at St James' Park after publicly criticising the club's transfer policy.

However, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is still keen to keep hold of Jose Enrique after the Spaniard's impressive showings last season.

hi eds great sight.i have heard rumors kk is interested in shane long as a back up striker.what are you thoughts on this and do you think it is likely . {Ed009's Note - No, it isn't particularly likely at all. He is a very good Championship level striker but no more than that I am afraid. There is no interest and he seems to be a signing somewhat dreamed up by those wanting an Irishman on the team!}

27 Jul 2011 06:08:41
Just seen KD along with DC going into Crown Plaza with Nasri. We all wanted a final big signing fingers crossed.
