Jon Flannagan in talks with Derby, most likely a loan deal, other championship clubs interested too

Spearing still looking likely to move permanently to Blackburn, Bolton, Blackpool or Wigan. I'm told Blackburn are still favourites despite seemingly missing out a couple of weeks back

Believable60 Unbelievable8

Get rid of spearing, he's not Liverpool quality
Liverpool forever {Ed002's Note - You get the flags up at the ground telling him what a pievce of crap he is; get a hate page up on Twitter and Facebook and I am sure he will get the message.}

Agree1 Disagree4

Its not a matter of hate, it's just so obvious he is not good enough in midfield for a top four club (which is where FSG should have us). He works hard but to anyone with half a football brain, he is mid table Championship at best.

Derby are instead in for Adam Smith on a season ling loan from Spurs as a replacement for John Brayford who's gone to Cardiff.

Id actually say that Spearing is of a decent Premier League standard, like Fulham, Stoke, West Ham, Cardiff, that sort of level.

Anfield Andy

Agree7 Disagree2

Spearing has a big heart and you cannot doubt his committment. He is however a little bit lacking in height and is not of 'Top 4' quality. We will not get in the 'Top 4' without players who are of that standard. He is young and will do well at a Premier League club with lesser aspirations therefore it is probably beneficial to both himself and to the club that he moves on. {Ed001's Note - I don't see his height as the main problem, it is his complete lack of pace that holds him back.}

Anderlecht are in for Oussama Assaidi.
Feyenoord and Twente are also interested.

Pieter.

Believable71 Unbelievable4

May be we can start a bidding war! :)

Agree2 Disagree0

I hope we keep him. I think he will be a great player if he got a run of games

Agree4 Disagree5

I honestly don't see why this guys being moved on maybe the big plan requires it.
I think he`s a fantastic talent just needing games as the other poster said, would be sad to see him go

I agree he's good on the ball. But he doesn't press properly and he doesn't fill the spaces when the team doesn't have the ball. This leaves us really vulnerable on the counter.

He'd be a good option on the bench but you can't put Sterling, Ibe & Assaidi all on the bench. May as well get him off our books and spend a bit bigger on a first team player.

Hi ed's
John Flannagan likely to be heading for the championship, likely on loan, Derby most likely destination at the minute but others interested

Believable39 Unbelievable8

It has to be permanent. I just don't see he will ever make it at LFC.
A bit like Spearing, a player with heart but not enough quality to make it with LFC.

Agree5 Disagree1

Im a lfc fan in derby and this is expected to be announced monday.

Agree2 Disagree0

That would 'likely' be the best option for him.

Ciario80

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree about permanent but not about Spearing. Spearing is one who if we hold on to him we'll use him (Coady on loan puts Spearing as our only backup to Lucas - we need t sign a DM!). Flanagan is fighting for RB where we have loads of backup.

Agree0 Disagree0

To person: Why would you sell a young lad with plenty of potential? Send him on loan so he gets some serious playing time and if he turns out good you won't have to buy him back.
Zari

Agree3 Disagree0

Flano is technically ok but lacks height and strength. Spearing is average championship at best. Never a Prem player. Best place for him is Blackpool.

Anderlecht confirm talks with Liverpool over signing winger Oussama Assaidi, could this be the starting point of a deal for praet while the clubs are talking eds? thanks in advance {Ed002's Note - If there is still interest, then it makes sense.}

Believable39 Unbelievable7

27 Jul 2013 11:49:41
Dear eds, athletico minero have apparently confirmed they've had a bid from an English club. Do you have any idea which club it is? {Ed001's Note - if you mean Bernard, I would say probably Southampton or Spurs.}

Believable17 Unbelievable13

Could it be arsenal

dave

Agree2 Disagree0

Doubt hell move to sit on the bench at spurs unless lennon will make way?

Southampton? Why would he go their when bigger clubs want him, I can see LFC being interested along with Porto and a couple italian teams

Agree3 Disagree1

Wow Soton showing more ambition than us.

Agree0 Disagree3

Really hope it was from us. Bernard looks like a great footballer and would solve LW issues, with Sterling and Ibe as backup, after LS goes. Our attack would be complete. Alas Eds said we are not interested.
Zari

Agree0 Disagree1

It is southampton 22 million not sure euros or pounds not that it matters that much.

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes you are the bigger club in regards to history and tradition and it is why couhtino came to you rather than us. the new bottom line is that we have more money than you but you are right the best players will still go the bigger clubs for now.

Depending on how we do over the next few seasons this well may change there big plans in place for southampton from our owners including a stadium expansion.

You will do well this season and I very much hope that Liverpool crack the top four which is where you guys belong, dignity I believe being restored at Anfield and you will have big cash to spend once the brilliant but unstable one is flogged to madrid . cannot believe that Liverpool would sell him to another prem club.

Agree4 Disagree1

It's Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree3

He's off to Porto

Agree0 Disagree1

If you look at Mineiro results and team sheets you will notice that Bernard is not a regular starter and even less a regular scorer. Despite this so many of you YouTube scouters consider this lightweight but talented dwarf to be the next best thing and our season's saviour.

If he goes to Southampton then that's his level: below us.

I wouldn't trade Sterling nor Ibe for him, nor Coutinho. Our left wing is fine, our right is not.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunately, many folks seem to base their interest in players largely on rumours of other teams being in for/enquiring/bidding etc. Rather than what is good for lfc and our current needs on the pitch. Once Suarez saga is resolved. We will see things more clearly, I hope they manage to fix it soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes it likely that your level is above us (southampton)and you will be again this season. The big five above your level are slowly disappearing over the horizon in terms attracting players and income plus of course the ich owners they have in place.

You have to hope that you find some owners soon or your level will be the same as ours.below the top five .

Good luck for the new season you support a fantastic club with a great history. How long is since you last won the league?

Agree0 Disagree0

During Confed Cup Bernard was playing on the right wing with no problems

I would trade Sterling for Bernard. I'm not sure I would trade Ibe though. he is improving at a rapid rate

Hey Eds, what's the situation with Coates currently? Are there any interested parties? Thanks. {Ed001's Note - Newcastle and West Ham are supposed to be interested, as well as a couple of Italian teams, not sure who though.}

Believable16 Unbelievable8

Ac Milan are one.

Agree0 Disagree1

Hello Eds,
do you reckon the outgoings will move faster when the players are back in England?
Also heard a few rumours could you tell if true :
1. Assaidi is interesting Feyenoord and FC twente (Loan) and now RSC anderlecht (permanent).
2. Newcastle, Sunderland and Blackburn interested in Spearing.

Also are any clubs interested in Downing?

Agree1 Disagree0

Has he played during the preseason games, I haven't seen him but only caught highlightst?

Hi Eds, are we interested in Luca Modric? Possibly as part of a deal with Real Madrid and Suarez? He's a great little player, can play attacking and deeper mid-field, has proved him in the EPL and would fit into the style BR likes to play. Thanks. {Ed001's Note - not that I know of.}

Believable16 Unbelievable36

Ha ha ha why would he want to join?

Agree2 Disagree0

He probably wouldn't buy if he did it'd be to play every week. I think he's a very good player. He may not be what Liverpool need but I love watching him play.

~Fresh

Agree0 Disagree0

No, you mean Liverpool are not what he needs!

Hi eds,
I know it's not LFC related but what's going on at Bayern. They were supposed to have a €240m war chest but so far have only signed Thiago and Gotze. Are they likely to bid for Suarez or do they have more important targets at this moment? Cheers. {Ed001's Note - doesn't look likely as they have kept hold of some players they were expecting to sell.}

Believable11 Unbelievable7

Why change a team that wins

Agree0 Disagree3

I think the problem they have is actually improving their squad! Even their back up players are of high quality and also provide different options!

Agree2 Disagree0

'war chest'. lol

nice one walshy!

Man City didn't change winning side and lost the title

Sup eds, do Liverpool still have an interest in Ince from blackpool and is there any other championship youngsters such as will hughes or McManaman that they are looking at? I seem to remember a post before and you said they were looking at some youngster from millwall who is he? Cheers Lads. {Ed001's Note - no, yes.}

Reports on the web this morning that if Real Madrid do make an offer for Suarez they will accept a smaller cash fee if a player is included in the deal, the same reports saying that Liverpool would demand Karim Benzema in any such deal

Surely this has to be a load of old tosh, after losing Callejon and Higuain even of they do bring in Suarez they can't be willing to lose Benzema aswell could they?

Would rather luis left to a non PL side rather than a contender for top four in Arsenal, this would be a great deal if it were true

Believable20 Unbelievable50

I have heard BR would want Jese Rodriguez in any player plus cash for Suarez.

MUSHROOM

Agree3 Disagree1

Not being funny i'd rather LS went abroad but if madrid can offer 81m and go even further for Bale then they can easily afford 50m for Luis. About time Lpool stopped being soft imo. New rumour is Barca will offer 12m for Agger, are they serious ffs? Lpool need to stop making it easy for players and other clubs to take the piss, if madrid don't stump up 50-55m and Arsenal do then make LS stay a year.

Agree5 Disagree0

Modric?

Agree1 Disagree0

We've had recent interest in Morata, I'd assume we want him as part of any deal with RM. Him and an attacking midfielder (possibly Praet) would be LS replacements.

Lewis091835

Agree2 Disagree0

They'll all probably say we ain't going there esp benzema, modric and rodriguez!

Agree0 Disagree0

Praet's not good enough yet. He's miles away from being ready for our first team!

Agree0 Disagree0

The latest rumours are that Barcelona will make a bid of £12 million for Liverpool defender Daniel Agger. He is seen by Barcelona as a cheaper alternative to Thiago Silva and David Luiz.

Believable12 Unbelievable66

Cheaper alternative? I thought Liverpool wanted £30m last year!

Agree6 Disagree0

12m + Piqué yes

Agree2 Disagree0

12million? LOL

Agree1 Disagree0

I love Agger but he's not better than Piqué let alone £12m better. With that said I do think £12m is way low. I figured Skrtel would sell for £10-12m and Agger is miles better than him.

Brendan Rodgers is hoping to take advantage of Valencia's money problems by signing left-back Aly Cissokho for just £4 million.

Believable47 Unbelievable18

Old news. it's a loan deal with an option to buy at 4m next season.

Would be a good piece of business if true.

Eds, have you heard anything about the story the mail
are running regarding FSG wanting to sell LFC for £350m? {Ed001's Note - I wouldn't wipe my backside with the fail, let alone bother to read anything in it.}

Believable30 Unbelievable49

I saw that, not sure how reliable this story is though

Agree2 Disagree0

Oh also, it would kinda make sense to sell the club to a billionaire oil Russian tycoon Arab kind of guy, as I believe it's next season the FFP comes in(correct me if wrong Eds or anyone).

However, given the Mails source is that garbage paper banned from Liverpool, I'd say the chances of it being true, are laughable at best.

Agree2 Disagree0

Apparently the rumour was started by The S*n. need I say more!

Agree5 Disagree0

I have no idea if there's any truth in their being interested parties, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if FSG weren't more than happy to sell if they got a credible offer from a credible buyer. I think it would have to be more in the 500M range though, 350M barely covers their initial investment.

Agree4 Disagree0

I agree with the eds poor paper not worth reading.

Agree3 Disagree0

FSG have issued a statement saying it's not true and they don't want to sell. Don't know why they bother to reply to stories made up by the mail.

Agree4 Disagree0

Ben Smith from the BBC say FSG have released a statement rubbishing the rumour.

Agree4 Disagree0

Is it not strange that the club is commenting on rumors? {Ed001's Note - the club aren't.}

Agree3 Disagree2

I think this could be true. why would the papers just make this up. there is somthing there. I like the idea that there is billionair's interested. I don't agree with heavy spending BUT we can't beat them so why not join them.

it would be nice to be linked with great players for once. I don't want us to waist talent on the bench but I do feel we are only a few players short. be nice to spend a few quid on some talent. {Ed001's Note - the story is the same one that everyone already knew. FSG are looking for investors, not buyers, to provide a boost to funds.}

Agree0 Disagree5

In my experience there's no smoke without fire and I believe if the right offer came in for LFC then FSG would sell up.

Agree1 Disagree5

27 Jul 2013 10:43:45
Probably started on twitter no doubt by some amateur lazy journalist trying to get some attention.

LFC doesn't need more negative media. The true supporters deserve better, some good news soon would be welcome.

I know that any single player isn't bigger than the our club but to drag it though the s**t is unbelievable. What have we and the club done to be treated this way. Suarez has stabbed every single one of us in the back and he's twisting his knife.

Lets hope that we'll see the Golden Sky soon, walk on.

Agree2 Disagree2

Nothing to do with lazy journalism whatsoever, look at the known facts.

They tried to look for a partner last year to bring much needed investment in, problem was nobody wanted to be silent partners.

Look at how they have balanced the books and drastically cut the wage bill, not only at Lpool but with the Boston Red sox, they feel the same way in the US. Maybe they will sell us or the Red Sox, I think 350m is about all they will get atm, the 2 other cowboy's got greedy and were offered half a billion by the Sultan of Dubai, I doubt after all the messing around he had that he will be interested anymore.

Always wondered why Lpool found it hard to attract buyers yet lesser clubs get the big buyers.madness.

Maybe they know they haven't got the financial clout to take us further but I will always be grateful to them for stepping in to save us.

Agree1 Disagree1

Sorry - John Henry will NOT sell the Red Sox. He doesn't really want to sell LFC - just get investors in. However his FSG backers want LFC sold and none of parties they've approached about investment have been very keen. Three parties ARE keen to buy the club, plus one longstanding offer that was on the table when Broughton et al prised the club away from H&G. Henry is realising that FSG cannot take the club much further. The Anfield regeneration investment is going to be hard enough for them.

I've posted about this twice - and my information is completely legitimate. The club IS up for sale - and any announcements about the stadium, or rebuttals to questions about selling are merely PR. If the right person, offers the right money, FSG will walk.
