Well he wasn't going to get the same money anywhere else - unbelievably money does talk in the modern version of what used to the sport called Football.

@John B, how do you know he is motivated by money alone?

Milner was clearly only backup up until this season. He is now clearly ahead of both Nasri and Navas and he has been an important member of their squad and their team.

Why would he look to leave? He is challenging for a lot more than we are and he is considered first team. Look at Redohio's comment and you see some of our fans don't think he's good enough for us - so why oh why would he come to a worse team to be under appreciated and abused?

I think he would be a great signing personally. He has great experience, he stands up when it matters, he is skillful and an all round very good player.

@redohio why thank heavens? Milner is a great, versatile player who could prove really useful to us in a number of positions. Unfortunately we have little players now who actually have fight in them (our vice captain included) so it would be great to have a player who can add that in abundance. I honestly don't understand the negative feelings towards Milner, is it just because he's not a £30m "marquee signing"? That's worked well for us lately hasn't it?

Echo now reporting that Ings will sign for us. not sure if they are jumping the gun or if there has been any progress. Will see what develops

Greg Stobart @gstobart
Danny Ings has told Liverpool he will sign for them (Spurs know too). Tribunal fee expected around £5m

The chap you're quoting there is using a stock photo, and is apparently a 'journalist' for goal.com.

He probably barely knows his arse from his elbow.

I've seen a few report's today that LFC have made an approach to Carlo Ancelotti to become our next manager AND he is wager to sign up!!

It also has a quote from him saying that LIVERPOOL, because of its history and tradition, WOULD BE the only club he would consider not to take a year out from football for.

So, EDS. Truth or paper talk??

Even if he we were interested I wouldn't want him to join, he needs to get his health sorted first, that's a priority for him right now, as much as I'd love to have him.

IMO if it wasn't for the back surgery and the year long sabbatical if we would have been interested we might have actually stood a chance as there arw not many top class managerial jobs available

Would like to see these "quotes" that Ancelotti apparently said.

He would be interested, but we can't put together the right circumstances and as of yet no approach has been made.

With his wealth of footballing experience and ruthless streak infront of goal, could LFC kill two birds with one stone and sign Sepp Blatter as a player/manager next season?

Hey eds, what do you make of Ballotellis agent saying he will be staying at the club next season? Do you think the club won't be able to drop their price enough to sell him on?

Believable6 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - It is posturing to get to a price where a deal can be done elsewhere. As I have explained, Liverpool want way too much. Mino will posture until he gets his way.}

27 May 2015 21:57:37
Balotelli, from what I observed last season, is worth f@:kall!!
to get him off the wage-bill would be an achievement.
Personally, I'd make him stay and put him in goal 'cos Mignolet's sh"t!!
On the positive side, Liverpool cast-off Iago Aspas has a Europa League winners medal in his back-pocket!

Hi eds, sorry the search function isn't working for me and i'm sure you have been asked several times but what is the situation with Benteke? Does he want to leave Villa? Thanks!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - No problem Ulster Red, I don't recall anyone asking - just a few getting themselves off on his photograph no doubt.

I don't know what he himself wants but he has said that he regretted handing in a transfer request last season, but he has an agent who has been talking with other clubs.

Aston Villa's Benteke has performed well enough this season to rekindle interest from Spurs and for approaches to have been made to his agent by Roma and Atletico Madrid. I am not aware of any approach to Aston Villa or his agent by either from Manchester United or Liverpool at this time. Liverpool has shown previous interest and might rekindle it but need to deal would a certain amount of baggage in that Benteke has already made it clear, through his agent, to interested parties he wants to be first choice and wants that in any contract - effectively guaranteed game time. Aston Villa will offer him an improved deal.}

27 May 2015 08:27:48
Spurs rumoured to offer £12million for Danny Ings. Have you heard anything eds? Isn't he a free agent next month? What does this mean LFC have to do to get him? Bid more?

Believable0 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - It seems an unlikely scenario. Twitter or the conspiracy page?}

27 May 2015 09:04:30
SSN reporting the name

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - As of the end of this week Spurs can speak directly with the player and his representatives and agree any deal that suits both parties. Liverpool can do the same. Making an offer to Burnley will not make one iota of difference to what the player decides to do.}

27 May 2015 09:26:07
I can't see why Spurs would offer Burnley 12 million for a player who is essentially free, bar compensation that is due. I would imagine Spurs would maybe offer him more in wages but a transfer fee seems strange to me.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 May 2015 09:27:29
sky saying their trying to get the player before anyone else can speak to him as his contract is up next month.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2015 13:00:28
why would they pay £12 million now plus wages when they would only have to pay compensation and wages next week? I doubt the compensation would be £12 million. Sounds like putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 from the press.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2015 13:08:11
just because ssn reported on it, doesn't mean its true. these reporters are in the pockets of the big media companys.they will come up with anything to sell a story. SSN sources as they put it, are twitter or so called people in the know.
