Hello Eds,
The papers really are making some ridiculous links these days. Redmond? £10m? Really!?

Anyway, while I cross my fingers that Santa Claus will convince Chelsea to let us loan Cech, my question is about Luiz Adriano. Who is interested in him and have Liverpool ever had any? His contract is finishing right?
I wonder where he might end up, I would love him in January. Don't want Berahino with Origi on the way and J. Martinez wouldn't compliment what we have already. Adriano's trickery and pace would give us sth we're lacking up top. Thanks a mil in advance for taking the time to answer. Would you like him yourself?

{Ed002's Note - There has been no suggestion of any loan for Petr Cech. Luiz Adriano's contract runs out in the summer - Porto and Galatasaray are interested.}

Why loan?! We need a first choice keeper. I'd pay whatever why want!!

If we aren't chasing Petr Cech, then this club is f***ed.

Even Mourinho would probably sanction the move due to us not even being near to challenging for the title.

Morning Eds
Sorry if this has been asked before but as Mignolet had another poor display last night would you give Brad Jones a couple of games? Also I've not seen anything in the press recently about a replacement/backup keeper. Can you provide an update?

{Ed001's Note - as far as I can find out, right now there is no plan to buy a keeper in January, but then the club are working towards an overhaul of the transfers and who makes the decisions. So there is no clear idea of who is going to be making a decision in January. That is if any players are even brought in at all, which is a very distinct possibility.

Personally I would give Ward or one of the other youth prospects a go, tell them they have nothing to lose and just go out their and play their game. Jones is not good enough, Mignolet is so bad he is looking like he is on the take, so why not see if one of the kids just might turn out to be something special given the chance? What do we have to lose? We either have one of two dodgy senior keepers, who struggle to catch cold, or a kid who might well be as bad, but couldn't possibly be any worse.}

Completely agree with ed001, we've nothing to lose in giving Ward a game, in Mignolet and Jones we have the worst keepers in the premier league, which is simply unacceptable.

{Ed002's Note - This is why I feel sorry for the Liverpool players when the club has so called "supporters" like you. For years Liverpool fans had a good reputation, were seen to be knowledgeable and were well respected. That has all long gone with statements like this about Brad Jones being, with MIgnolet, the "worst keepers in the premier league". How many times has Jones played in the EPL this season? And how many last season? And how many the season before that? These are the sorts of posts that the players should see so that matters can be put in context.}

Spot on Ed001!
"a kid who might well be as bad, but couldn't possibly be any worse."
Ibe for Markovic, Rossiter for Allen, Sinclair/Yesil for Balo.

If you don't give the youth a chance when the experienced players are letting us down, they will just leave - like Suso et al.

And to Ed002, except for that Italian lad who used to be at Arsenal, can you point out a keeper in worse form than Mignolet? I honestly can't, and if Jones isn't deemed good enough to get a game now I can only assume he never will. Has he ever been a number one 'keeper?

To be fair Ed002 they are pretty poor keepers and better judges than me have said so as well (Souness, Carragher, Neville, Keown and Ed001, in fact Carragher said last night that there was no point putting Jones in place of Mignolet for that very same reason as we would still be conceding sloppy goals), every time Jones has played in the first team he has also made the same kinds of mistakes as Mignolet in terms of poor handling, poor at collecting crosses, poor distribution and positioning, which are fundamental skills for a keeper (I remember the cup game at Oldham that he played in and the mistake he made which cost the game was a bread and butter save that the keeper should be making).

I would happily give the young lad Ward a game at the moment as something has to change and he really couldn't do any worse than the other two keepers.

I genuinely think that they are two of the worst keepers in the premier league and nothing I have seen can convince me otherwise, this isn't an adverse inference on them as people, just as professional footballers, they aren't very good.

{Ed002's Note - Get down to the ground and daub abuse on the outside - force them out - see if Carragher will join your quest. If not perhaps a small fire at the stadium - show the owners you mean business. I have no idea what Carragher said last night, but if he has taken to saying such things about Jones, it is pitiful. But then again you are all watching him on Mt Murdoch's Sky.}

I've backed Mignolet numerous times but no more he's lacking in confidence as all the players are.

Agree1 Disagree0

Perhaps we should start looking at what sort of goalkeeping coach we have.

Thanks for a great site though - I do genuinely love it.

Ed002, I fully understand why you think that that fellas response wasn't showing fantastic support but he's agreed with Ed01. I don't think it's fair to have such a pop at him and ignore the fact that Ed01 said it 1st.

We'd all much rather be in a position were we could all throw our full support behind the team like the good old days (and I do every match - i don't howl from the stands. ) but the team isn't performing as it should and while abusing the players won't help their confidence we're entitled to voice our reasonable opinions without being mocked for it.

{Ed002's Note - You can voice whatever opinion you want and I will mock you as the whim takes me.}

hello eds.

are we looking at villas boas as replacement?

YNWA

Believable1 Unbelievable8

{Ed001's Note - not as far as I am aware. From what I have been told things haven't got that far along the way to bringing in a replacement, they are still examining the club to decide exactly how best to run the football side. But my information hasn't even mentioned him at all, as someone who is in the running to replace Rodgers when the time comes.}

Oh yeah, that would be a great move!!!!

With his transfer record he will fit right in. lol
