Ed's do you see any of our loaned out players making a significant part of our squad next season? Reina will leave as we know but do Assadi or Suso have a future with us?

Believable18 Unbelievable15

{Ed002's Note - Assaidi may move on unless Liverpool can give assurances about game time. Suso is a player the club will want back but he will attract interest from Spain - and again will want assurances I doubt the club will give.}

Suso is our star for the future, exciting prospect.

Agree3 Disagree1

I think Borini deserves a shot next year as well. Doing very good at Sunderland

Agree15 Disagree6

Suso will be back, Borini might be back if a striker isn't bought in the summer and Wisdom will probably be back. Reina will most likely be sold or go out on loan again (wages) or stay to keep Mignolet on his toes (only if we make CL), Ilori might go out on loan again but that will depend on what happens to Coates, Agger and Skrtel. Adorjan I think will move to FC Groningen permanently, Robinson might be sold if not will probably be loaned out again. Assaidi will probably look to get game time somewhere else and LFC won't stand in his way.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Robinson might be on his way now, it is a possibility.}

Hi, Not a rumour, but a question for Ed02 if you have the time please.
I'm sure you are already sick of talking about konoplyanka but as far as you are aware have any other clubs (like spurs or PSG) been in talks with his club or agent in the last 48 hours?
Also you mentioned that tv are broadly correct in that we are in talks with Dnipro. Could you please elaborate a little further on that? I'm just unsure of what you mean by broadly (is there more to it that is unreported by ssn?)

Thanks for your time. I understand the need to keep things as low key on here as we can all agree we don't want another post Salah complaining session.

Believable21 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - There is declared interest from PSG and two other clubs from England. There is also some other interest from the Ukraine. All of these clubs have spoken with his club.

I did not say they were broadly correct in terms of Dnipro - the statement was about the player not his club - Liverpool are speaking to the club and his agent - but not the player at this time.}

I don't get the transfer market, thousands of players and a good hundred or so either potential or proven quality players plying their trade so why is it that there is always a scramble for a player at the end of the window. Get your own fluckin targets please!

I'm worried if PSG, or another CL team show the money we will lose out again.

I hope we have a plan B, hold on this is plan B isn't it, right have we got C, D and E aswell?

Agree3 Disagree0

I assume that the two english clubs are Spuds and the Man Utd.?

Agree3 Disagree1

Yes you did say Broadly correct

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - Read what I wrote - idiot.}

29 Jan 2014 17:50:37
Ed02, I hope you are well. Do you know if Manchester United have actually bid for Konoplyanka, or held talks with his club?

Many thanks

Believable6 Unbelievable17

{Ed002's Note - A bid no - but as I have explained he is a player I expected them to bid for.}

Rumours flying around about Spurs interest and bid. Have you heard anything?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - See previous answers please.}

Good news Konoplyanka wants LFC move. I expect this deal to be concluded by tomorrow. Tottenham have also made enquiries.

I previously stated that Rodrigo Ciao was a target this month but negotiations have broken down. He is now a target for the Summer.

I'm still adamant Liverpool will make a late bid for Yann M'vila although his legal issues could be a problem.

P.S
Bad luck on the Salah deal, however I was told he was interested in the move but wanted Champions League football. Chelsea was always interested. He obviously couldn't refuse them.

Believable63 Unbelievable21

Is Ian Ayre in the Ukraine? Can any eds confirm hope we land this 1 saw him against England at wembley he scored a cracker and ripped walker apart and only 24 would b a great addition to our already formidable front line

Agree1 Disagree0

He's cup tied is he not Mr I.Trader?
In Buck we trust!

Agree2 Disagree0

How do you know he wants the move?

Agree1 Disagree0

Dodgy rumour?

ssn saying we are in talks with konoplyanka?

Believable69 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - They are broadly correct.}

Just seen a report that Spurs are trying to gazump us.
Either mischief by the Man U media or Spurs AGAIN using us a their scouting network

Agree1 Disagree7

With any luck we'll close that off and he'll see that the spuds are a sinking ship that go through players like a dose of salts.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jan 2014 19:24:45
Konoplyanka's agent James Lippett studied at Liverpool University.so at least he can give the player an idea of the City and it's people.
Really hope we get this lad. could be another January Gem, like Suarez and Sturridge.

Agree5 Disagree0

Ssn also reported that PSG are interested so if them and Spurs get into bidding against us I'd forget it. The guestimate price for Kono is supposed to be £13 to £15 million and with 3 clubs involved it would soon rise past that. No doubt we'll be either offering £8 million or suggesting a loan with an option to buy deal. I'm not being pessimistic just realistic about the way our transfer dealings have gone recently.

Agree3 Disagree0

29 Jan 2014 17:53:16
Ed02 if we are in talks with the player does that mean a fee has been agreed

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No fee has been agreed unless it happened whilst I was on a plane for the past couple of hours.}

29 Jan 2014 18:03:03
Ed02, are Dnipro willing to sell him this January?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - At the right price.}

Eds would the suggested price be about right at 15 - 18m then?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have no interest in discussing finances - it will just confuse you.}

29 Jan 2014 15:59:17
Hi Ed,
I noticed earlier that one of you stated the Mancs are also interested in our Ukrainian target (not even going to try and spell his name sorry). Do any of you know his preference and if the United interest is strong enough for them to enter the bidding.
Praying we aren't going to have another Salah situation where we don't offer enough or act quickly enough to secure his signing.
Cheers.

Believable5 Unbelievable12

{Ed001's Note - not a clue, I know nothing about the lad, other than our interest. I never saw him as a serious target, due to others being interested, so haven't got around to doing any research, or trying to find anyone that knows about him.}

29 Jan 2014 18:41:35
spurs looklike to win race for ukraine winger according to reports

Agree1 Disagree3

No report has suggested Spurs will 'win the race, ' just some talk that they're interested too

Hi Ed's
Just read reports saying the inler & agger swap deal is very much on and is in an advanced stage.
Do u have anything on this?
And if it is true, surely agger is worth a lot more than inler so would there be some cash involved?
Cheers

Believable14 Unbelievable48

{Ed001's Note - the issue will be persuading Agger to go, that is the sticking point, and why I don't see any likelihood of this being real. Danny loves Liverpool with a passion.}

I think it would really benefit our club if we could make this deal happen as I think Brendan prefers Sakho (to be fair, I like Sakho a lot, too) to Agger and he don't like to play with two let footed CBs. But if Agger leaves I will cry so much, I just love this guy, I really do, so I don't know what I want. Whatever happens I will be a little bit dissapointed and happy at the same time :)

Agree3 Disagree0

It would be harsh to try to drive Agger out of town. He has given his all to the club with great ability and passion. Of course, I know that it would be purely business, but this guy is a great presence in the locker room, a role model and our vice captain. Forgive me for not checking statistics before posting, but haven't we conceded far less goals in matches where Agger has played?

Agree5 Disagree0

That will be Rafa's job

Agree1 Disagree1

Everyone is assuming this will be a swap/Buy. Could it not possibly be a loan in both directions. Gives us both cover that we need right now DM/CB

Would suit both parties.

With only Skyrts, Toure and Sakho I can't see us letting agger go permenantly.

Agree1 Disagree1

We could chuck them reina and a packet of embassy number ones? Agger loves the club and we live him back!

Agree2 Disagree0

Eds, can you realisticly see this happening or not? I can't see Dagger leaving, he might though as he will probably be insulted in the fact that were trying to offload him? Good business I think if we can get it done.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I really don't see him accepting a move, he turned down Barca, why would he want to go to Napoli instead?}

I agree with you Ed. He won't want to leave. I take it that's the only way we have a chance on Inler though?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - well no, there is always a chance if we push for him.}

Can't b doing a last minute panic deal with dagger. If he was to be available we could get a better price than some rubbish swap deal! My view is Dagger to stay as he experienced and sakho still needs to develop. If we got the money we should add to the squad as it's already limited. Defence is thread bare at the moment!

Agree1 Disagree0

I can't believe that so many Red fans would like Dagger's departure. He've been great for us. He has class and despite this year's lackluster perfomances, he's one of our best players; Even if he maintains in bech, he will be very important when we return to CL, and RB will have to rotate the team. He deserves our loyalty as much as he have been loyal to us

Agree2 Disagree0

No way should he go. He's class. Why not have two left sided centre halfs and two right center halfs? Seems logical. We need top players who are passionate about the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

What made fergie such a great manager was that he knew when to cut ties/losses and sell players on( see beckham veron, forlan, nistelrooy, butt etc.)

Agger has played 166 games out of a possible 342 for Liverpool, that's less than half.He's a good player but we need a consistent defensive partnership that his injuries will never provide, these injuries are only going to get worse in the future and he will de value. We should sell him while we still can get a pretty penny to boost the squad.
Toure, sakho, skrtel, kelly is more than enough centrebacks, we have wisdom, illori on loan and sama in the academy.

Agree0 Disagree0

It wouldn't be right to just push him out of the club like that. A loan swap for Inler sounds perfect though since Dagger seems to be out of favour at the moment. Inler seems like the perfect player to secure us a place in Europe this season and; since Agger seems to be surplus this season, that would be the best option. I think Brendan is just trying to get Sakho some good experience in the PL by playing him alongside Toure, so that he'll be more solid in the future where he'll probably become one of our main defenders. It all depends if Brendan has something in mind for Danny later this season and whether Rafa would want him on loan. Danny is one I think should stay at the club for the rest of his career personally though.

James Lippett, agent to Konoplyanka was at the match last night.
Question Eds. If this is true where has Dave Fallows been sent to. Has he gone to Dnipro to negotiate the fee or is he somewhere else bidding for another player as well?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate. If only I worked for a publication owned by the devil himself *coughmurdochcough* I would just have his phone's GPS tracked so SSN could report on his whereabouts. Not that I am suggesting that is actually what they are doing, by the way. I should point out it is a joke before I get a letter from their solicitor's!}

Can I ask what's so special about this guy? I don't know anything about him and a youtube video could make any player look good.
Also what position would he play as I think the front four worked well lastnight.

Agree2 Disagree0

ED001 - You just made my day!

Agree2 Disagree0

MarcO his main position is left-sided forward, but he can also play as a right-sided forward and as a centre-forward
He is described as an "old fashioned winger" and had represented his country the Ukraine national team.

Hello eds.
Do Jack Robinson have a future at Liverpool?

Believable22 Unbelievable7

{Ed001's Note - it seems unlikely, he is not really impressing on loan.}

Sadly playing for Blackpool under, until recently, Paul Ince means nobody in their side is impressing. Off the top of my head I think they've taken 2 points from their last possible 33. At least Andre Wisdom is playing in a decent side in Derby County and playing well by all accounts.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - good point, but he wasn't good last season either.}

Can you see Jack being sold in the summer then ED?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - very possibly.}

Seems to me that brad smith has pretty much taken his place

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jan 2014 14:45:34
Apparently a €18m fee has been agreed with LFC and Dnipro for Konoplyanka. LFC just need to agree personal terms with him and have offered 4 and a half year deal.

hi ed's, what's the situation with Alvaro Morata? it looks like Anchelotti doesn't rate him. Also has anyone showed interest in Kiko Casillas? a GK from Espanyol, not for us, I like Migs, but he seems pretty good. Also have we showed an interest for Matuidi? cheers

Believable9 Unbelievable8

{Ed001's Note - he is just a kid, Madrid would let him go out on loan if they can recall him in need but they are not looking to sell. No idea about Casillas at all sorry. Matuidi is out of our reach, City are highly interested in him.}

Cheers for the reply, Morata's 21, and Jese Rodriguez (20) gets quite a lot of game time. And it's Casilla, no s,
my bad.

Hi Eds I am seeing a lot of websites claiming we have bid for Konaplyanka. Is this true, do we actually have solid interest or is it just lazys reporting.Cheers

Believable32 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - seems to be correct, we have certainly spoken to his club, not sure if any bid has gone in yet though.}

Hope so when we were linked to yarmolenko in the summer I said this guy looked better can't believe how quick he is just watched him strip k walker for pace against England with the ball at his feet, maybe when Moses aspas and borini go in the summer we can't bring in yarmolenko to lol

According to Konoplyanka' s father Oleg, speaking to Ukraine media. His son will be moving to ' the English Club ' this week. As far as I know LFC are the only club who are currently in talks with Dnipro.
It's looking good. fingers crossed.
Would be a great signing!

Agree1 Disagree1

29 Jan 2014 14:52:36
I just read that Konoplyanka holds a karate black belt! If he comes and turns out to be a great succes we will have to dub him "the silent killer". Anyway, I think he would be a massive signing for us, would give us even more options up front. If we play a 4-2-3-1 with Sturridge on the bench/backup, Hendo would probably be played further back, strengthening our defensive midfield cover. I believe strengthening our attacking options therefore also would add strength to our midfield as well.

Agree0 Disagree2

Sturridge on the bench/back-up?????

Agree1 Disagree1

Yes, flidby, I know it sounds a bit ridiculous to leave a fantastic goal scorer on the bench, yet if we play an away game against a strong side, I would prefer a 1-attacker system and bring on Sturridge with 30 minutes left to play. Against Stoke it showed that bringing on fresh legs in the second half proved devastating for Stoke. Anyway you look at it it would be a really exciting signing. Moses and Aspas haven't exactly convinced anyone. Ibe is still too young to be depended upon to be a capable backup and Assaidi, Suso and Borini are not with us right now. So, imho, Konoplyanka would add both depth and more offensive options.

Agree1 Disagree2

29 Jan 2014 13:28:34
If Dave Fallows has gone to the Ukraine, to speak to Konoplyanka, have we agreed a fee with his club or would we need to do that aswell as personal terms?

Believable13 Unbelievable8

Fallows is travelling to speak directly with the player, which means a fee has been agreed.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Fallows has gone to the Ukraine (i would normally have expected Ayre) does that mean that Ayre is elsewhere in europe trying to set up something else?
(More than likely a classic 2+2 = 5 but I can live in hope!)

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually I hear that Fallows is in Portugal, notvthe Ukraine. However I think it's a holiday.

Hi all

if we do sign konoplyanka great, he would be a big addition.

but I feel we are still wek at L and CM. I know we have Enrique but he spends time out injured a lot.

can you confirm any interest in a LB at all?

This could be a good end of transfer wndow for us

Thanks

Believable33 Unbelievable6

Don't need a LB, Enrique is back next month around the time of the FA cup. As for a CM I fully agree BR said "one or two major signings". Inter Agger swap? but then we would be light at CB, unless Kelly is used as fourth choice CB with Sama as fifth.

Hi eds,

Hearing that a bid has been accepted for Konoplyanka buy an English club! Other than Liverpool can you tell me if there is any interest in him from another English club.

Hope we sign him, looks a decent player!

Cheers.

Believable37 Unbelievable15

{Ed001's Note - Man Utd are interested too.}

Since we are so interested in this guy, can you (ed001) please give us your hounest opinion about the player, do you rate him and so on. best regards from sweden!

checked tv no word just that Liverpool have bid 15m for him they r usually first to let us no someone else has 1 of r targets.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bleacherreports.com are saying we've made a bid for him.
Don't know how reliable this site is though, only discovered it at the start of Jan.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - it is just a site for fans to post blogs on, not reliable in the slightest.}

Konoplyanka is 3 times better then Salah. Great player indeed. I hoped we sign him year ago. U will see what a player he is.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on Ayre, wrap this up before someone else turns his head. this guy was Ukraine's stand out player in both ties against England. he'd be a perfect guru for sterling, and has a much better end product

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed001 - fair enough. Wasn't sure about it hence my disclaimer, cheers for the info :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no worries, dealt a lot with them, they are a US site, hence the bleachers thing. They just give a place for fans to try and produce more lengthy articles, rather than just chat like here.}

29 Jan 2014 10:56:14
Have we offered for Konoplyanka because there r loads of reports saying we have including bbc and ssn who r usually pretty reliable.

Hey Eds!

Reports gathering pace that we are trying to sign Konoplyanka. I personally like this guy. Had great games vs England in both legs. Have you heard anything about this deal?

Believable38 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - Konoplyanka was subject to two significant offers this past summer - from Galatasaray and Zenit - both of which were been turned down. I expected to see PSG, Benfica and Arsenal make a bid in January, and possibly Fiorentina, Spurs, Liverpool, Manchester United, Schalke and Dortmund to look to the player. Right now it is Liverpool and PSG who are showing interest.}

Surely it is too late to be "showing interest"- less than 48 hours to go

Agree0 Disagree1

I think we are going all out to get this guy who is potentially world class! Pace, skill and can play in all three positions across the front line.

Agree1 Disagree0

Hey Eds/Reds

Fingers crossed, hope we get him.

But where and how will he fit into the squad, and what formation will we play.

Sounds interesting and looks positive.

Agree0 Disagree0

I for one will be chuffed if we get this guy. Granted I've not seen too much of him, only the games against England and clips on youtube, but from what I've seen and read he appears to be quality.

I'm not getting my hopes up though.

Agree1 Disagree1

I for one will be chuffed if we get this guy. Granted I've not seen too much of him, only the games against England and clips on youtube, but from what I've seen and read he appears to be quality.

I'm not getting my hopes up though.

Agree0 Disagree0

By far the most talented of all the players we have been linked with. Seems like there is some substance to it as being reported by sources rather than our favourite twitte ITKs.
Just get on and sign him, no messing about. If he chooses PSG over us, fine but if Dnipro want 15 pay 15.

Agree2 Disagree0

This would be good, if negotiations have started by Ayre then hopefully they will have been completed by August.

Agree4 Disagree0

Sign him for the God sake
He has everything to become world class player
Technique, deribbling, vision, pace and his long shots are amazing

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with Red Rich, but then I noticed we are not the only team looking. So I guess our bid of £5mil less then true value, Ayre won’t even get to draw out negotiations till August, cause PSG will pay the true value.
Still it seems enough to keep some fans happy, job well done Ayre.

Agree0 Disagree1

I've only seen him play on a few occasions but he looked absolutely class and was the danger man for Dnipro. Very exciting if we are really in for this guy.

A CDM is so crucial though, I hope we can get someone in on loan if only as cover for Gerrard and Hendo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Much better all round player than Salah but I am concerned that we are leaving it too late.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great player - not happy with the opening posts user name tho! Will have to ask the Ed who registered first! :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok, now this really excites me, and I'm sooo intrigued.

Ed's who are the teams interested in Berardi of Sassuolo? I know he is co-owned by Juventus, however he certainly is impressing a lot of people.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Crystal Palace and Cardiff enquired after loans for Berardi in the summer. More recently Manchester United, Spurs and Wolfsburg have looked at the player. At some point I would expect him to join Juventus permanently.}

28 Jan 2014 18:58:19
Ed02, I noticed on here that you mentioned on here Newcastle were interested in Grenier(spelling?). After watching Lyon play on a few occasions he and lacazette have impressed me. Have any other teams showed interest in these players and would they be players that would interest Liverpool?

Believable3 Unbelievable12

{Ed002's Note - Yes there has ben interest in Grenier in the past - both Chelsea and Arsenal enquired. There is no interest from Liverpool.}

28 Jan 2014 18:06:16
Hi eds, just a quick question regarding the young lad Saul Niguez, apparently scouts went to watch him play against athletico and he had a bad game but played at CB would this effect our opinion of him as a possible DCM transfer target or do you think he has blown his chance and that's why the rumour has died down a little

Thanks in advance

Henlow red

Believable5 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - it might affect his chances of a move in this window, if he had a poor game, but they aren't going to judge him on a game out of position otherwise. It would only be a plus point to him if he played well, rather than a minus for not playing well. The rumour has died down because Atletico are trying to kill off links to their players, they don't want people losing focus when they are chasing the title.}

29 Jan 2014 00:07:52
Hi eds,

Have we been looking at jack cork at all? Watched him against arsenal earlier and he looked absolutely quality, really solid midfielder sat just Infront of the back 4. I'm guessing he would be ridiculously expensive and not available?

Thanks and great work :)

Marshylfc

Believable10 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - Brendan has tried to sign him since taking over at us, but they wanted something like £20m, so we went and got Allen instead. I know Rodgers likes him and keeps tags on his progress, and there was an enquiry while he was out of the team. Since then he has been playing, so I doubt they would sell him.}

28 Jan 2014 17:50:47
Ed do you see any chance of LFC making a move for Hernanes as According to Di marzio he is close to moving to inter for what to me sounds like a snip at 11 million euros plus a player? Cheers ed

Believable4 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - no I don't. It would seem highly unlikely. Though that is an opinion as I have no info on Hernanes one way or the other.}

This guy is 28 and no better than hendo or Allen (at his best) so I don't even know why this rumour is going around!
