Harry, are these clues found in GOT?

Rhino, I think the clue is found in the R + L = J equation.

Other than left back midfield is our weakest area and all the clubs above us are signing quality midfields. We want to hope we have more than zelinki (spelling) in the pipeline.

Not that's some equation to get lost into, Nick.
But in a non-fiction world and on rumours, the prevailing equation seems to be 1 + 1 = 11.

Hi Edds

Reports out that Lucas may be off this summer.

Wondering if there is any interest in him from anyone.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest right now.}

Good evening all,

Eds mentioned Amavi previously and said " there have been discussions" is this referring to :
A) LFC have discussed him being a target
B) LFC have spoken to his reps
C) LFC have spoke To AVFC re his availability

I apologise if i have missed something with your previous post, or indeed i have misinterpreted it, but you response would be appreciated and gratefully received

All the best

A-P.

30 Jun 2016 00:08:17
I'm confused by our left back situation at the moment - are we really trying to replace Moreno with someone who hasn't played a single game in the PL (Chilwell) or with someone who played 10 games in possibly the worst PL team ever (Amavi) .

This isn't a dig at the players mentioned but surely we need experience in that position now.

30 Jun 2016 07:28:36
John, don't think we are looking to replace Moreno this season mate.

Joe Allen and lucas to be sold in the coming weeks to make room for, zielinski and dahoud, lucas moura being linked with a move but most Likley to stay in paris.

I'd rather sell both and just sign one. Or even sell just Allen and keep Lucas. Stewart deserves game time, ideally I'd like Milner to go, but don't see it personally.

Hi was
Just saw that on Monday sky did an article on Liverpool possible transfers and they give each player so rating out of 5 on how likely they are to join. Mane was at the top with a 4.7/ 5 which was probably to be expected, but in second place was Lucas Moura of PSG, being given a 4.0/ 5. Was very surprised to see this name as he is not a player I've seen mentioned on this page very often in recent times and was just wondering if we ever held any interest in the player and if so, has it disappeared with the signing of mane?
BTW great work on the site eds!

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - PSG may well be less willing to let Moura move as he has now settled better in France - but it took a very long time. An attempt was made to strike a deal for Lucas Moura to make a return to Sao Paulo on loan in January 2015, but PSG pulled the plug as discussions dragged on. Juventus had declared interest if he becomes available but baulked at the €40M asking price they were given. Spurs and Liverpool did manage to scout him recently, although he has been starting from the bench a lot this season. Whilst his agent has spoken to Arsenal about him, the player himself is now keen to stay in Paris, and having settled, PSG will likely support that. As such, I suspect a summer move to be unlikely.}

29 Jun 2016 22:20:32
I would imagine that signing Mané will put any thoughts of signing Lucas Maura in the bin. They play in the same position after all.

Agree5 Disagree3

29 Jun 2016 16:09:33
Ed's, can you shed any light on the Jonas Hector saga? One minute we appeared to be interested, now the media is saying that interest has "cooled off". Having said that his odds to join us were slashed earlier in the week.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I know nothing of odds at all but I have explained the two LB targets I am aware of.}

29 Jun 2016 18:00:52
Would that be Chilwell and Bertrand, Sir Ed?

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - No, RTP.}

29 Jun 2016 18:52:30
Amavi is a decent player.

Agree4 Disagree3

29 Jun 2016 21:29:19
My thoughts on the two confirmed LB targets by Ed002 (Chilwell and Amavi) .

It should be Chilwell signed over Amavi, definetly!

Amavi has missed a full season of football through injury. If you want someone to come in and hit the ground running then you don't pick someone like that.

Look at Flanno, missed a lot of football and is now struggling to get back to the very high level he was at pre injury. It's not a dig at the lad - just the way it is with these sorts of injures.

Agree1 Disagree2

29 Jun 2016 22:56:16
Chilwell over Amavi all day as Chilwell has been well scouted by Klopp and his friend David Wagner who had Him at Huddersfield Town all of last season while Amavi didn't play almost for a full season.

Agree2 Disagree1

30 Jun 2016 06:29:42
Where did this myth about the great Flanno beeing so exellent before his injury comes from? He gives he's all and play woth his heart, but he has never been a good player.

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - perhaps from people actually watching the games and seeing how excellent he was? He was a very good player, I really have no idea who you were watching, but it clearly was not Flanno. You must be trying to live up to the name you chose with this comment!}

30 Jun 2016 16:08:46
Amazing misconception there, are you sure your a Liverpool fan, if you can find a DVD of the 2014/ 15 you'll see flanno was unbelievable and worth the contract renewal with relative ease, I've stopped supporting players individually ever since gerrard left as they can leave just like that I only support Liverpool the football club but flanno is my one exception Liverpool through and through is that is that lad and you can take that too the bank he plays like a die hard fan imagines they would.

Eds,

Just wondering what the hold up with the Chilwell deal is. His injury, agreeing a fee, or a combination of the two?
I would love to see him at the club in time for a full pre-season so at the very least he could put some pressure on Moreno.
Also, with all the talk of new owners and the drop in sterling after Brexit do you think potential new owners would see this as a chance to buy the club for relatively good value?
Thanks.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - injury. I doubt it would make any difference.}

29 Jun 2016 17:45:24
Ed001 do you expect Ben Chilwell to go through and what do you make of our new signings so far.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - yes and not sure yet, the only one I have seen play is Mane.}

29 Jun 2016 12:28:41
Hi Eds,

Are we looking to offload Luis Alberto on loan again or a permanent deal? He had a decent season away but can't imagine with only domestic football and signings he'll get a look in. Also do you knows when Matip and Grujic are due to link up with the squad and get their numbers? We're yet to see Matip in a shirt (getting excited), will it be July 1st or does he have holiday?
Thanks.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - Alberto is available for a permanent deal. The two new boys are due in for the start of preseason training.}

Hi guys, Midlands based Red here. I've heard from a friend close to the Baggies that they're taking a look at Benteke, not sure if this is true or not but thought I'd share.

Believable4 Unbelievable5

29 Jun 2016 10:34:22
Nice to see I'm not the only red from the midlands! I was starting to worry.

I don't know about this Benteke rumour as I'm still a trek away from Brum, but I know a fair few Leicester fans and they all seem to think LCFC want Joe Allen to replace Kante, but only if the Mendy deal doesn't go through.

Morning eds do you think we would sign Robbie Brady he impressed me in the euros and would love to see him at Liverpool and also is there any truth in the lewendowski rumours that we want to sign him.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - no, not good enough and no chance of Lewandowski.}

29 Jun 2016 10:05:40
What is this new found obsession for a poor LB in Robbie Brady? The guy isn't good enuff and won't be coming here regardless of how many times people ask.

Agree5 Disagree11

29 Jun 2016 10:23:24
Ill have to defend Robbie here! I've seen him play many times in the flesh over the past 4 years. I think he's one of the most under-rated footballers around.
Hes really improved over the last 2 years. He can comfortably play in 4 positions, the best being as an attacking left back. Excellent delivery from set-pieces are a bonus too.
My opinion is he's a much better and more intelligent footballer than Moreno. I urge anyone who has doubts about him to watch him closely over 4 or 5 games.

Agree16 Disagree3

29 Jun 2016 10:26:33
In fairness to Brady he's not a left back and I think he showed in the Euros he's a capable midfield player. But as Ed said he's not Liverpool standard anywhere on the pitch even if he is now god like over here in Ireland at the min.

Agree6 Disagree6

29 Jun 2016 10:57:46
On that premise than Moreno should not have been bought . Brady is a far better player than him . Not suggesting we are in for Brady . Just thought I'd say that.

Agree7 Disagree4

29 Jun 2016 11:09:47
Brady not good enough but everyone's raving and happy about us spending all summer trying to sign a lad that can't even get in the Poland team.

Agree10 Disagree4

29 Jun 2016 11:58:01
Yes he is better than Moreno, if only because he isn't a red card waiting to happen, but he is a better option in that he's not as consistently stupid, he isn't any more of a top class left back. Decent wide midfielder and stands comparison to some players, ability not position, on the books. But since we're wanting those guys gone we can't really sign him.

Agree2 Disagree3

29 Jun 2016 12:09:56
International soccer does not mean anything.

Agree2 Disagree5

29 Jun 2016 12:33:12
Well it appears he is good enough for the premier league champions. he's going to leicester.

Agree2 Disagree2

29 Jun 2016 14:25:50
Irish players will always be underrated in the premier league. Or rather so many other nationalities are overrated. Ireland beat Italy, and could or should have beat France but yet not one of them would be bought for 10 mil 15 max. England on the other hand lose to Iceland and you would be lucky to get lose change back from 30million for any of the flops. with many probably going to be sold for 40 or 50.
I'm not saying we should sign Brady, and defo not for left back, but he is a better player than many in the league.

Agree9 Disagree1

29 Jun 2016 14:45:41
LordIrish, please tell me in Morenos 90+ matches for LFC, how many red cards how he got?

Agree2 Disagree2

29 Jun 2016 15:50:53
Brady is a decent player, if he had a more exotic name and played for some south american team people would rave about him. The fact he is Irish doesn't help him but people are quick to forget Steve Finnan and how good he was for us.

Agree2 Disagree1

29 Jun 2016 15:53:51
If any Irish player needs to be picked up on the cheap and have a lot of future high level potential, Hendrick sticks out a mile to me he would be a good addition as a backup for Hendo or most other central placed midfielder and yes I know we are over loaded with midfielders and centre backs but this guy has improved immensely over the last 12 months, probably would never happen but I honestly hope a decent premiership club picks him up over the summer.

Agree1 Disagree1

29 Jun 2016 16:32:11
Brady is better than Moreno hands down I would rather him on the team.

Agree3 Disagree0

29 Jun 2016 16:38:42
Like mentioned above Irish players are so under rated I'm English and I've have most of them in England's national team any day as the majority of England's players are crap I Defo think Liverpool should sign one or 2 Irish players after all Liverpool has a close connection to Ireland.

Agree1 Disagree2

29 Jun 2016 19:00:26
Craigt1986, beg to differ but there are no quality Irish players around at the moment, at best they're mid to bottom of the table type players and we don't need that.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2016 20:36:46
Im an irish man and i admit england have the better players as a whole but If England had half the heart and passion of the irish they would get somewhere.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2016 15:52:51
Italy fielded a weakened side against Ireland, so that's not a way to judge them, the reality is that Ireland are not producing good players any more. Where are the Roy Keane's and the Ronnie Whelan's?

Agree0 Disagree1

30 Jun 2016 02:01:17
Dennis are you serious.

Obviously an English supporter/ Welsh since they are still in the Euros

We dominated France in the 1st half and bottled it in 1st 30 mins of the second half

England

Like many people have said .

No guile
No commitment
No interest
And far from good enough

Pity it wasn't Ireland v England in the second round, the final score would have been a lot worse for the English.

Players on the wages they are getting and performing like they did and to go out to a part time team MOSTLY

says it all really

Ah well at least you hold the record of leaving Europe twice in a week, that probably won't happen again for a long time.

Agree1 Disagree3

Stoupid the phrase I used was red card waiting to happen, if you can't see how lucky he has been not to pick up cards to date then you're not watching the game or the reactions of the rest of us who are. He constantly does unbelievably stupid things and eventually his luck will run out. Just go and look through the match comments on here to see how many people can't believe he's got away with some of the challenges.
