Just seen we've been linked with Hamburg winger Jonathan Pitroipa. Any truth in this? and what is he like?
reports are that he is up for 5mil. . {ed's note - I have heard of him, but I can't say that I have seen him play sorry. As for if there is truth in it, well we have had a lot of teams watched, including Hamburg, but no one actually knows which particular player has been watched. This is another of those educated guesses that are going around, it could be right or it could be wrong.}

Adam johnson will sign for a new club in january and liverpool are favourites to sign him. £10m should do it as city won't run the risk of asking for more incase johnson hands in a transfer request. SWP is also rumoured to leave city but stoke is his likely destination as Pennant won't be aloud to leave Real Zaragoza in january

But would he though ed? because he seems to start most games this season along with khedira and they have lass or m.diarra as back up but with alot of rumours about lass leaving , i doubt they would sell alonso as well + hes better than khedira so if schweinsteiger comes in khedira should get dropped. i personally WOULD have alonso back , he was class for us and when we sold him you could really tell he was missing. {ed's note - Schweinsteiger is being targeted as a replacement mate, that is why Jose wants him. I was the person with this last post. i reckon you could be right ed , that cause of his age cause that's the only real reason i could think of why they would get rid of him , but if we did get him back i wouldn't want to pay the money real madrid did for him ( which i hear is about £30m according to wiki) but i definatly would have him back.
Also ed this rumours about players like elmander and c.cole are they just rubbish? because keep hearing them i really hope we don't sign either of these , even though they do seem like roy hodgsons type of signings lol but i cannot see damien commolli recommending these players and saying to nesv these are the players we need. Also does kenny dalglish have any say in the transfers? is it kenny , roy and commolli who will all have a say?

Personally I can't see it being true, firstly I, yes I could spend £20mil much better than him - I don't rate him as a player worth that money. He is a good forward but. . £20mil? ?
Also, is there any players left that we have NOT been linked with?

On the rumour front.have heard we have been linked with a double swoop from italy.vucinic and mexes i think these 2 wud be a good improvement on our squad they say we can get mexes for as little as 4 million because he is out of contract at the end of season.and vucinic would cost between 15-20 million but i think he would be great for our liverpool team a great team worker great at snatching goals and a great in the air and also he would be on the same wave lenght as torres because lets be honest the other attackers did not read any of his great flicks yesterday kuyt and maxi useless and then we just need a winger of qualitie and a strong midfield man who can protect our fragile defense

Reports from viva la Spain are suggesting that Sevilla are preparing a bid for lucas. If a bid comes in for 13 million+ then I'd sell him. I would personally bring ever benega from Valencia. Valencia are full of debt and we could get him for 10 million. He's only 22 and is a very creative player. He's better then lucas in my opinion. I think benega has the potential to become as good as alonso with a bit of luck.

I don't know what to make of these stories linking us with a £20m move for Mirko Vucinic.
I mean, there would be a lot of positives. I think it would be a great signal of intent to the fans, players and to the footballing world that the owners are willing to splash out £20m on someone. And it would make us more optomistic in regards to the Summer transfer window, and hopefully convince players like Torres to stay.
Obviosly, Vucinic is a good player (in my opinion) and could be a good partner for Torres. But questions would obviously arise as people don't seem to rate him highly and would question spending £20m on him.
But really, spending £20m on any player is a risk. Especially from another league. Many questions arise, like would they adapt? Would they be up for the physical nature of the PL?
Personally, I don't know whether NESV will release £20m for him. If he fails, I think we'd struggle to recoup that fee.

I'd prefer lopez, dzeko or benzema to vucinic. he is quality but inconsistent and 20m. benzema and lopez would only cost 10-15m, dzeko is slightly over priced but is a goal machine. Personally i'd take cassano for free and the moment he starts disobaying rules just let him rot in the reserves.

If we were to approach and sign him, it could take a large chunk of the January transfer window to do so anyway. Given the negotiations and the fact that he would need a work permit (I think) before he signed. Plus, given his quality, he would probably be in talks with other clubs. So bearing all of that in mind, it might have been a while before we got him anyway.
And the Russian season has just finished (or is about to finish pretty soon) so I wouldn't want to play him week in week out and burn him out, given that he's played since March and would be playing until next May. If him being jaded meant his performances suffered, the punits and media would be on his back and we don't want that.

The 'marquee' signing that alot of people are obsessed with will be honda, now most people will think why is he a 'marquee' signing, from NESV point of view it's down to the money his signing will generate in the far east and to be fair he is a good player, i'd be happy if along with honda we signed atleast 1 maybe 2 wingers and definetly a forward, bring on january oh and just one more point why are people getting on roy's back after yesterdays unfortunate defeat i mean do you think we'd have been so attacking under rafa, i doubt it very much, if torres and maxi had took there chances we'd have strolled it so don't blame roy coz golden boy (torres) fluffed it

I agree with you Ed. If they payed 200k pw on a new transfer would cause numerous headaches from future transfers plus present players who would claim to be worth more pw.
NESV have already stated they want young up and coming players but Aguero is an established world class player that would be out of reach in terms of transfer fee and wages. This is why I very much doubt he'll come here.

Last week there was a post on here stating that NESV would make a marque signing which will be Aguero, but he has stated that he will only sign with Maradonna in charge, if were looking at the fact Mourinho is buying in Altrincham as a possibility he will be manager, I would like to add that Maradonna has been in England all week. ., we gonna decide that this means the rumour about him and Aguero is true because of that?

Signing Elmander (29) would go against NESV's claims that they will only sign young players. I don't think he is coming, and rightly so. Not good enough anyway.

Jose Luis Dos Santos Pinto (Zezinho) is an 18 year old from brazil playing for santos. fee would be around 5 mill with add ons this lad is highly sought after by Liverpool but wether or not we follow up for a bid is another thing.
