Hi Guys,

Apparently Liverpool are falling behind in the race for the guy dubbed the new 'Ronaldo', Lucas Ocampos. United are thought to have moved further than simply, Watching him. We also know, as its a fact that Inter Milan had a bid rejected a while ago for around £15m, so he wont be cheap.

In my opinion, if he is indeed a replica of Ronaldo, I don't think we need him, as much as I admire his footballing ability, if he has the massive head to suit, it would be maladaptive for Liverpool.

In King Kenny We Trust!

YNWA

Pistol

If he puts the ball in the net as much as ronaldo he could be what we are missing,a player scoring 30+ goals a season playing for us...mmmm i think i'm gettin a semi on

Maladaptive?? what the hell - it has
come to something when we have to
look in a dictionary following a comment
on a football banter page

Puzzled

Which Ronaldo? Is it the Brazillian who won the fifa world player of the year award three times, or the Potugay who scores goals for fun for Hhhhreal Madreed? Not that it matters, a player in the mould of either of these players would, surely, be a welcome addition to the Liverpool squad.

Eds would it be fair to say that we are looking primarily to buy a striker nd de jong,Hazard or soldado are the most likely party to come in?? {Ed001's Note - no, Hazard is not at all likely!}

02 Dec 2011 23:05:41
Anything on Leroy Fer coming to Liverpool as Lucas replacement?

02 Dec 2011 20:21:17
Umm - Apologies - me again - Just found - pardon the paste :

Liverpool are thought to have entered the race to sign Celtic's young full-back Adam Matthews in January, and could go head to head with their rivals Everton. Everton are thought to have admired the player for some time and speculation is mounting that they will offer Celtic in the region of £1.5million for the player

Anything on this? also - have you fella's considered the possibilty of have a Rumours Networking site?

Thanks as Always
Jamie {Ed001's Note - I don't believe either Liverpool or Everton are currently looking at him. No idea what you mean by a Rumours Networking site sorry.}

I think he means exactly what you have now!

Evening all,

Caught Offside ( Not Reliable ) Have just released info that we are looking at the potential signing of Kalou - I would never usually consider this as news considering the source mentioned, however, this ties in with information i was given 6 - 8 weeks ago advising that we had identified Kalou, who's contract ends this summer, as the man to add that extra to the front line but also brings a level of versatility with him - Eds, anybody else - Is there any degree of truth in this that you are aware?

Thanks as always
Jamie {Ed001's Note - nope, none that I am aware of.}

02 Dec 2011 20:02:37
Hi ED's, just heard that liverpool have inquired about the availability of Real Madrids 26 year old defensive midfielder Lassana Diarra, with a loan deal which could turn permantly in summer! He has prem experience! Have any ed's heard about this? And would he fit in, Nesv, kk and dc criteria? Great site! Thanks! DHH L20 scouser Y.N.W.A
{Ed001's Note - I haven't heard that, I was told completely the opposite, that we are going to give the players in the squad a chance. I would suggest it is more likely that Diarra's agent has suggested him to us, it would certainly be in Lassana's interest to get a move. With his baggage, I very much doubt there will be any interest in him from Liverpool.}

Why are people looking at cheap ,short term replacements for Lucas. We already have them in the squad, they don't come any cheaper than that.

02 Dec 2011 19:56:40
Ed, could you please run through the possibilities for signing these players as potential Lucas replacements: Frings, Lass Diarra (on loan), Holtby.

I know they may not seem amazing but I think that they are good enough for the time period we are missing Lucas and possibly available and cheap/free too. {Ed001's Note - I am told there is no plan to sign a replacement for Lucas at the current time. The players in the squad will be given a chance to prove themselves first.}

02 Dec 2011 19:12:30
what's the chances of a lucas ocampos 'the new c.ronaldo' signing in january ed? this kid looks like he's going to be special, i'd love to see him sign. he is exactly what we need for the right wing. {Ed001's Note - not much chance in January as far as I am aware.}

Not sure if this is true but id take keita,same mold as yaya!

Does ocampos go awol in the big games as well. we need proper players not pamsies !

Never heard of him!

02 Dec 2011 18:44:49
so Ed on your opinion which are those 2-3 players with most possibility to join us in January? {Ed001's Note - I am not convinced there will be 2 or 3 signings in January, even with the injury to Lucas.}

Ed i though you said that a striker/deep lying foward and a winger were priorities for jan? Therefore wouldn't signing two players be likely {Ed001's Note - I said a player like De Jong that can cover both positions, or at least that was what I meant (knowing me I probably didn't explain myself well), was the priority.}

02 Dec 2011 17:45:02
Hi Eds, is there any chance of Wilfred Zaha? He is cheaper and better than what Wickham would have been. To be honest, i didn't think he had his best game against United but i have watched him before. He is clearly talented and if he manages to get smarter with his play he could be an excellent player. He would improve massively with us and i know the club is looking for young English talent, so he would be a good option.
Please reply
Thanks! {Ed001's Note - sorry but we have had him watched for a long time and it was decided he was not good enough. I am getting sick of repeating, but I am told the scout report said he had absolutely no end product.}

He isn't english, he is from the Ivory Coast

Manno

He just runs and runs and runs... tries some skill... does nothing... tries the inside cut... runs into about 3 players. Glen Murray looked the better player out of the two.

TheShire

He was born in the Ivory Coast but plays for England's youth

02 Dec 2011 17:13:48
Ed001 has there been any update on the situation with kagawa? {Ed001's Note - nothing that I have heard, I am doubtful a move for him will be made in January.}

02 Dec 2011 16:58:53
Hi eds i am just wandering in general do you see much movement in the jan transfer window or do you see mainly loans as i am sure that there is not too much money about.

Also just a question about Luuk de jong do FC Twente need to cash in on him or is it more likely the player wants a new challenge? And is there still a number of clubs after him?

Thanks for your time.

Mighty reds

{Ed002's Note - Not so sure that there will be incoming loans and I am sure you will not see the level of movement there was in teh summer. Twente do not need to cash in and there are several clubs interested inDe Jong - including Liverpool and Lille most obviously.}

02 Dec 2011 16:20:23
Eds, do you think that Lucas has played better since Spearing has been pushing him for his position a bit more? And further, do you think the purchase of another good DM would only do more of the same, and therefore improve the team in the long run?
Anfield Andy {Ed002's Note - I doubt Spearing has influenced how Lucas has played, and I don't really see the club springing for a player to try and get Lucas more motivated.}

02 Dec 2011 16:01:14
Geez! Perhaps I should start to re-read my posts before posting.
Fellas, you'll note that there're some missing words in a few sentences in my earlier, which might cause some confusion.

Where this is the case, I hope you'll be to make out what's meant from the context.
I have this annoying of omitting words.
Sorry, lads.

@Ed002, thanks for the info, cousin. So if Fer Leroy isn't defensive midfielder, why is he being bandied about?
I thought we were supposed to looking at only one addition this Jan, a striker.

What's changed?
Obviously, with Lucas' injury, we'll probably look for a stop-gap, so that makes it two new arrivals.

So, ed, in terms of that quick-fix replacement, what are our most viable options?
I say quick-fix because Lucas is our long-term man, so we don't need to bring in (a likely expensive) permanent solution.

So that rules out M'Vila and whoever else in the same category.
So, ed, I want what you think our options are.

Baie dankie

Ray Burmeister {Ed002's Note - Fer's name came up on some blog picked up by the Metro. The obvious first step is Spearing and Shelvy and don't try and worry about a like-for-like replacement. I don't think that the management team would bring in a player who would not be wanted once Lucas is fit which makes a loan move another possibility (albeit slim).}

I doubt we will get a Lucas replacement.We are well stocked in mid field and a short term answer would either be to expensive or no better than what we have. Spearo or a fit Stevie G can do the job.

Bring back Poulsen!!

02 Dec 2011 15:28:20
what surprise that ed 02 is ruling out all the rumours out here !
1.podolski- no
2.ocampos-no
3.villa-no
4.soldado-no
5.gignac-no
6.eduardo vargas-perhaps(?)
7.erksen-no

so who is the possible target than ??

{Ed002's Note - You missed out Hazard and Goetze and failed to read what I wrote about two of the others correctly, but still. You come on to this web site taking a dig at me - and don't even sign your post. The editors give there time to try and help out and we have to put up with repeated bleating and cretinous posts like this.}

Well said Ed002, if people don't like the way things are done then don't come on here, i for 1 think you are doing a great job and its the best part of the season for me the debate on who we will or wont sign. Keep up the good work. Michael w {Ed002's Note - We appreciate that Michael.}

I don't understand having a go at the Eds? Would you rather them lie to us about signings? Be realistic and realise none of the names are likely without champions league football, not to mention the ridiculous price tags many of them have.

Well said ed I love a good rumour but thats all these names are and I don't think we really need to sign anybody a right sided midfield/striker would be good but I dont see this as a need and as for Lucas replacement why do we need to replace him he is injured and will be back so Lucas cover should be said and I would be happy for Jay Spearing, Hendo and Shelvy to step up all these names banded about on here are just fantasy and luxury and at the moment we are not in a position of Luxury players and to be honest I would rather steer clear of them.
Carlos79

Ed don't pass no heed of him. He didn't even have the balls to sign the post lol

Irish Red {Ed002's Note - It is strange that they do that. I guess just kids.}

It's quite funny that guys like Macca are lauded for popping up every now and again with good inside information, and the ed's and in particular Ed002 gets such a hard time on here because his information, while almost certainly just as reliable, isn't what the over-excited fantasy football fans want to hear. I'm very thankful to all the eds for giving up their time to share their information, and impressed with their patience, I practically tear my hair out just reading the posts, never mind replying to them!

ed002 is female as far as im aware just to give you a bit of information...

and i for one was saying the same thing as the poster of this until ed002 explained a few things to me......but a chelsea fan reporting on a lfc site is bound to expect to recieve a little bit of stick.....ed002 does know her s**t tho but sometimes pisses me off as i do her..

keep up the good work

wildRED {Ed002's Note - The difference is that I can ban you if you piss me off, or even on a whim.}

I'm pretty sure that the powers who be at River Plate have stated that Ocampos won't be leaving until they've gained promotion back to the Primera so he definitely won't be signing in January

02 Dec 2011 14:52:00
Hi eds just looking for your opinion on possibly signing santi cazorla in Jan or maybe the summer, also I fear gerrard could be finished maybe kk was advised in the summer to buy so many centre mids, thanks, {Ed002's Note - He only moved to Malaga this summer - very unlikely.}

I wonder if ED002 is bracing himself for the countless calls and/or questions about one Alberto Aquilani being recalled, considering Lucas' injury?

You can break these requests into several categories:

*clears throat* Ok here goes...

Ed002 Why are we not recalling Aquilani? Class player in the first team at Milan, he's just what we need. Someone who can pass the ball and get forward.

Ed002 Can we recall Aquilani off his loan. Thanks

Ed002 If we can recall Aquilani why don't we? Ed002 do you know the reason why we haven't yet?

And finally Ed002 is the loan for Aquilani for the season Ed or can we recall him right now?

Good luck Ed002 and Your Majesty (Ed001) I'm feeling the pain for you even now!

Or I could put the answer in now for everyone? HE WILL NOT BE COMING BACK ANY TIME SOON, OR EVER..FULL STOP.

Bob the Red {Ed002's Note - Interestingly, Albe

If kenny wants him back hel get him back....hel probz decide afta the fulham game {Ed002's Note - Not a chance.}

He is on loan until end of the season. I dont think we can ask Milan to send him back in January. under the Law its not possible. am I right Ed ? {Ed002's Note - I am not sure law is the appropriate term, but under the terms of the contract the future deal for the sale of the player means that after 25 games the deal is confirmed. Aquilani sure as hell does not want to return to Liverpool and Liverpool want rid of the player, so it is never going to be a viable option unless the club are really desparate.}

I think anyone else who mentions Aqilani should be banned or sent to a mental institution.The will not play in England. How many times do you have to be told !

I'd have to assume Milan paid a fee to take Aquilani on loan in the first place, regardless of whether they end up buying him or not. And, assuming Football Manager follows the rules of real-life, if a loan fee is paid, a recall option isn't available. Plus, lets face it, if it's to take Lucas' role in the team, we'd be far better with Hendo... or Shelvey... or Spearing... or any footballer who has ever successfully tackled a player, than Aquilani.

Hi eds,
Are you sure Liverpool are not interested anymore in Ocumpus? He seems like a player who can help us being more creative in the miedfield {Ed002's Note - As we stand right now Lucas Ocampos has been looked at by a number of sides with Bayern Munich and Chelsea maintaining an interest. I understand that Diego Caniggia took a look on behalf of Liverpool but it was decided that he would be too expensive to buy. That seems to have ended any brief interest that Liverpool had.}

Who is diego Caniggia? and why does he keep on loking at players for us i.e vargas.

GuvTOB {Ed001's Note - he is Liverpool's South American scout.}

I carry out regular work at Melwood and over the years have picked up and posted some good inside info. I was there yesterday and was informed by one of the staff that KD & DC are sticking to their transfer targets for Jan 2012 despite the injury to Lucas. The plan is to use Jordan Henderson in the Lucas role with Bellamy/Kuyt wide right. Gerrard will add to the midfield line when back from injury backed up by Shelvey. The current target for Jan is a right sided striker/winger. Dalglish is more than happy with the range of versatile midfielders at the club.

Hendo willl need to improve dramatically on his tackling and ball winningg abilities, then. In that department, he is even worse than meireles at the moment.

BooDaBooze

TBH Hendo as a CM will excel ; his brilliant cameo against Scums / Carling Cup brilliant display Vs Chelsea has all came as a CM .. If Kenny trust him with that CM job i for one will have no complain .. tho Hendo is no lucas .. so expect less tackles , but more disciplined passing & some attacking runs forward .. This can be very very true

What do you mean by more disciplined passing? Lucas' passing rarely dips below 85-90% and he is incredibly adept at picking the right pass at the right time. I'm not sure how Hendo could improve upon that really.

TSP

Plus the fact the role in which lucas played needs a player with tackling ability while i like henderson could not see him filling that role

Lucas's firefighting ability will be sorely missed, im not sure spearo, hendo or shelvey have that in their game albeit they are fantastic mids in their own right, the defence will have to perform well to compensate one feels, the team look like they are starting to gel atm, lets hope this doesnt knock them back

Center mid is Hendo's natural position. Have no doubts he can do a job there. He is a better passer than Lucas. However, he is nowhere near as good at defending, so he will need some help beside him. But we can manage if he steps up.

02 Dec 2011 12:00:21
What ever happened to the interest we had shown a year or so ago in Ricky van Wolfswinkle? I know he was injured but he is now back playing and scored mid-week, could he still be an attacking option?
I'm sure I read somewhere that the Mancs were looking at him at one point. {Ed002's Note - He moved to Sporting over the summer and Liverpool brought in Craig Bellamy.}

02 Dec 2011 11:27:39
Hi ed.

Was there any genuine interest from LFC in Huddlestone? There was talk about him a while back and he does seems to fit the FSG profile. He can certainly pick a pass but is he regarded as good enough? He wasn't exactly a regular for spurs even before Parker signed.

Cheers,
Chally {Ed002's Note - Huddlestone is a decent player but that whole story came from a single unsubstantiated source at the Daily Mirror. What has become very clear is that Comolli did not say anything about Huddlestone, but it is their belief that he could lure him away from Spurs. Huddlestone has not been playing recently as he is recovering from surgery. However with the emergence of Jake Livermore perhaps an offer could be made that would be acceptable to Spurs. I doubt he would come cheap as he is contracted through to 2015.}

You can certainly have him! won't be no shortage of people willing to drive him up

Huddlestone can't run. Decent?

I see sandro had already turned down the idea of a loan or permanent switch to anfield stating he is 'very much happy & settled' where he is..

Why would Spurs sell a player to assist a CL rival

02 Dec 2011 10:40:15
I know yesterday I said we shouldn't look to replace Lucas, but then I thought about it a but more. I think a short term measure could be to bring in Mamadou Diarra, formerly of Real Madrid. His contract ran out at the end of last season - and I don't think he has been signed up by anyone. Has considerable experience and was a high quality operator. Not saying we should go for him, but I think he would be an option should we suffer anymore injuries.

RedSG {Ed002's Note - Diarra plays for Monaco.}

Diarra was relesed from his contract at the end of last season by Monacco, and is currently available on a free transfer ed. He has been linked with a move to Doncaster this season (says it all really) {Ed002's Note - I stand corrected.}

My bad...

i have been looking on this site and football rumours for about 4 years now and love the site. Never posted my self, but used to love reading all the posts.Things have changed now tho. Now this site should be called 'ask the ed a question.co.uk'.. Anyways i have heard from a reliable source that Marco Reus is nailed on, but we may have to wait for the summer
YNWA DAVEY BOY

Yeah I've heard something similar regarding Reus however I believe we just had him scouted and held brief talks with his age. Whether its nailed on is a different matter altogether. Thought he was Bayern bound

02 Dec 2011 09:51:46
his eds who is more likely option as a CF in your opinion ?

a) david villa b)roberto soldado c)andre pierre gignac d)lukas podolski

or i missed some one you may know ! {Ed002's Note - Out of those it is hard to say any are likely. Villa would cost perhaps £30M or so - a lot for a 30 year old. Certainly Liverpool have shown some interest in Soldado who is having a good season but his availability in January is by no means certain. If Valencia progress in the Champions League he may wish to see the season out. At about 25M euro he would not be cheap. Gignac may well be playing tonight in place of Remy - but I don't know of any interest from Liverpool in Gignac with Fulham, Everton, Fenerbahce and Wolfsburg possible destinations for Gignac in January. I don't see any chance of Podolski going to a club where he cannot be sure of a starting place - it could well put his international career at risk. Spurs and Arsenal have shown an interest but he could decide to move to Turkey with Galatasary or possibly Russia with interest from several clubs including Anzhi and Zenit. If he does move to England, Arsenal is certainly the most likely destination.}

02 Dec 2011 09:49:30
Is Lassana Diarra potentially available for loan in Jan? Surely this would be the ideal solution following Lucas' injury as a stop gap. I'm not suggesting our young players should not be given a chance or that they are not good enough but surely someone with his experience would be invaluable in that position towards the business end of the season.

Apologies if this has already been covered.

Cheers
Greggers {Ed002's Note - Lassano Diarra is playing fairly regular at Real Madrid but still may be moving in January or the summer. Anzhi have made a very significant offer but I understand Roma are very interested in the player and the player is open to a move to Rome.}

Some folk punting Leroy Fer and Moussa Sissoko as Lucas's "replacements" makes me wonder if these people even the blokes. Fer and
Sissoko are anything but enforcers.

If either was brought in, it would not as Leivas substitute but complements.

There seems to be this emerging culture of folk punting any and every new player linked with the club even when they demonstrably know bugger all about the player.
Stop it! Just stop it.

Now, to my main point. Prior to the Lucas tragedy, we were scouting a kentral mid., a mainly offensive mid who could also do a wee decent job tracking back and assisting defensively (a la Stevie G).

Moussa Sissoko emerged as the answer, the ideal candidate.
He's in our radar.
His signing, or none thereof, hinged not one iota on Lucas.

Having had regard to the eds' info and other "ITKs", it appears that the main targets in January are a kentral mid. (Sissoko?) and a forward (De Jong?).

But now that Lucas's campaign's come to an abrupt end, I would think a DM will be sought.
Sure, Spearing will get his chance and may do a decent job, but the fact of the matter is that he's not at the level required to do what Lucas does.

Pinning all our hopes on a fundamentally wet-behind-the-ears kid successfully manning our midfield against City, Spurs, Utd etc is naive and acutely unwise.

For December fixtures against the QPRs, Wigans, Blackburn sure he can do a wee decent job.
But January and after we'll need a proper DM, with Spearing as back-up.

So, eds, 3 three new signings (defensive mid, attacking mid and a striker) in January wouldn't be out of the picture, would it?
Also, who's Eduado Vargas? He any good?
We interested?

Supa Striker
{Ed002's Note - Your point is well made about Fer and Sissoko. It is really too early to do anything othger than speculate about a replacement, albeit temporary, for Lucas but I am sure the club will be considering their options right now. Eduardo Vargas has to be a possibility but with interest from Italy and serious interest from Inter I suspect England a less likely destination than Italy or Russia.}

Can't agree more about Fer and Sissoko. Is it a coincidence that they happen to be two of the best young CMs on football manager 2012?

Liverpool are thought to be interested in signing Valencia striker Roberto Soldado as they look to bring in one more striker to their ranks.
The Spanish forward has been in sensational form this term for Valencia scoring 13 goals in 18 appearances and scored a hat-trick against Genk last week which has caught Liverpool's eye who are interested in adding a striker due to Andy Carroll's stuttering start at Anfield and its thought that Soldado is keen on a move to the Merseyside club.
SOURCE: FootyLatest
Liverpool's owners are very keen to secure a much coveted top four finish this season and Kenny Dalglish's interest in beefing up his attacking options will be funded by the board and a move to capture Soldado makes a great deal of sense.
Luis Suarez has been in consistent form but the club's other striking options have failed to make an impact. £35m England man Andy Carroll's form has been patchy at best and the former Newcastle United man has therefore spent a great deal of time on the bench.
Dirk Kuyt and Craig Bellamy, both 30 years plus, are now considered primarily as wide players and as a result there is not that much in the way of firepower at the Merseyside club and a move to bring in form Spanish international Soldado to Anfield makes a great deal of sense and the former Real Madrid man may well feel that a high profile move would further his international prospects.

I agree that Soldado would be an excellent addition to the Liverpool team but can't say that I agree with your suggestion that playing for a bigger team would enhance his international prospects: the guy plays for Valencia; you don't get much bigger than that. They've been playing CL football this season and will do again next season if he stays there. Liverpool wont

Liverpool are considering a £10m bid for FC Twente midfielder Leroy Fer, according to the Metro.

The Reds are considering a number of options following the news that influential holding player Lucas Leiva could be out of action for up to six months.

This has prompted Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish to look at the overseas market and the Scot has reportedly identified Fer, 21, as someone who could take up Lucas' role at Anfield.

Fer, who has one cap for the senior Netherlands team, has shown that he has an eye for goal this season with four goals in 12 matches. {Ed002's Note - The odd thing about this story is that Fer is not a defensive player at all. Did he play last night against Fulham?}

Dear ED, was Lucas a defensive player when LFC signed him??. NO!!. He was a player in Gerrard's mould. Now people may blast me, but say if Rafa has jus played Lucas in both Attacking and Defensive positions, we wouldnt be thinking about a Gerrard replacement as he could easily have filled them. Another point i have noticed is that when he does pass forward its usually a defence splitting pass which 7/10 results in a goal. That itself tells me that given the chance to burst forward, this man could provide some good assissts. He is just scared of venturing forward coz he will expose LFC's backline.
Now its true we need a replacement, i dont know who but i would suggest an attacking minded defensive midfielder....

Yes Fer did play last night, looks a very good CM, but wasn't exactly one who looked like he'd bust a gut to make a tackle. Quite good going forward mind, pace and strength. However, he's far more in the Stevie G category rather than Lucas. He hasn't got the same anticipatory skills I reckon.

02 Dec 2011 07:32:11
Anfield director of football Damien Comolli has earmarked a move for Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac as Liverpool consider a January move to beef up the club's attacking options. The French international has struggled to make an impact at the Stade Velodrome and has suffered the ignominy of being relegated to the Ligue 1 side's reserve squad.
The 25 year old former Lorient and Toulouse man was considered one of the most talented strikers in France when he made a move worth around £14m to Marseille in August 2010 but the powerful forward has failed to live up to the hype and struggled to perform for Didier Deschamps' side, managing just eight goals in 30 Ligue 1 appearances last term.
During the current campaign the striker has seen his form dip yet further and has spent much of the time on the bench and has recently been linked with interest from a number of Premier League sides including Tottenham, Everton and Fulham. This is all a big fall for a player who was a regular in the French international set-up at the tail end of Raymond Domenech's reign and Comolli is now reportedly ready to re-ignite the Martigues born player's career.
Liverpool have struggled up front this season with much of the workload being shouldered by Luis Suarez whilst Andy Carroll continues to fail to live up to his £35m price tag. Kenny Dalglish does not have much in the way of effective back-up options and has watched as Carroll and Dirk Kuyt have struggled to gel with the club's Uruguayan hotshot.
Liverpool are thought to be ready to offer up to £8m for Gignac who Comolli feel can help add more dimensions to their attack, believing the Marseille man's physical approach may well lend itself well to life in the Premier League.

...And do you believe that the testimony that you have given qualifies this guy for a transfer to Liverpool?

Do you not think that we have more than our fair share of under-achieving target men?

Is it not time that we set our sights on an out and out goalscorer to take the pressure of Suarez?

02 Dec 2011 02:38:39
hey ed
do you know anything about gerrards recovery?
talking about trasnfer rumours is cahill still an option? how about lucas mooura da silva? great youngster with a brilliant future to com
thanks ed {Ed002's Note - There is nothing on Gerard. Cahill will move in January with Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs perhaps best placed at this time. Chelsea have held talks with Bolton. If Lucas Moura becomes available I suspect he will end up in Italy. Lucas was enquired about by Liverpool (amongst numerous teams) in the summer and the quoted price was $130M. He may eventually be sold for much less but way more than any English side will pay for an unproven teenager - with figures around 35M euros being suggested. There is, in my view, no chance of him moving to England or to Liverpool in the short term. If pushed, Roma or one of the Milan clubs could attract him away from his other option - a move to Portugal with perhaps third party ownership. However, I doubt he will leave Brazil for perhaps a year or two.}
