Ed is Daniele De Rossi out of contract this summer or did he recently sign a new contract
{Ed001's Note - still no contract signed yet.}

Dont even think about it, De Rossi will not be a Liverpool.player next season

His wage demands will be huge, way beyond what we would pay. If he is playing in England next season, expect it to be for either half of the Manchester teams.

hi eds. I have a few questions:
a)are we interested in any free players?
b)when is the deadline to sign free players
c)if/when we do sell johnson, how much do you think he would be sold for around?

Love the work you guys do and would appreciate a reply. Cheers {Ed001's Note - a) none that I know of. b) not until some time in March I believe c) I really have no clue.}

Y do u want to sell johnson he is great

Eds is there a potential loophole in the transfer system if we wanted a player but the window was shut we went to a club they were prepared to let the player go so they terminate his contract so he becomes a free agent then in the summer we buy one of there reserve players for the fee of the original player is there anything to stop that happening and im not expecting us to sign anyone i got thinking about it the other day and cant find a answer anywhere
giblet {Ed002's Note - If Liverpool would not object to the points deduction that would go with such behaviour I don't suppose anyone would object.}

No i wasn't suggesting we did it it was just a question in general
giblet

Ed002 to come back to that question how would any one know if the value of the players was low say 1 million each i mean obviously if you tried signing a player worth 1 for 10 they would know but how about 2 1 million pound players and im not suggesting any one does it but could it happen what i was thinking is what sort of measures are in place to make sure that cant go on
giblet {Ed002's Note - Well the rules are in place to stop it, but if a club were to breach rules and were caught doing so there woul be a points deduction and then they would have to deal with issues surrounding defrauding Customs and Excise. I really don't see this happening.}

No i dont see it happening myself i dont know where i got it from it just occurred to me its possible so just wanted to know the rules on it and couldnt find it any where on the web to get a better understanding cheers for the responses

Eds, how much do you think we would get
for the sale of Johnson in the summer? Approximate
figure say plus-minus 5million. {Ed001's Note - no idea sorry.}

Why would you sell Johnson?
You may be right that Kelly is or will be better but the idea is to build a squad for the CL / EPL / Carling & FA Cup. That means 4 quality full-backs.

Through the Storm {Ed001's Note - which is why we are looking for a replacement for him.}

I reckon 6-8m is realistic for him - cant see anyone paying much more

cozinoz

Very funny Ed001 but he is not that bad. Sometimes a bit erratic defensively but a different type of full back to Kelly which gives Kenny tactical options.

6-8 mill for a England international attacking RB?!?! More like 15-20mill & even more if it R.Madrid as mournhio has always liked him & could possibly move for him in the summer

Why would u get rid of johnson when hes 1 of the best around who can play on the left an right also on the wing especially for around 5 million if he does go it will b 4 around 15 mill

i have today found out from some one who is itk that in the summer some players will sign and some will leave FACT so
watch this space
mystic mike

Ha ha i think this is a universal truth regarding every club in the world

Very perceptive

I could of told you that, my source me, lol

clm96p

Wow that rumour must of come from Kenny himself. Only he could know that in such fine detail

No sh*t Sherlock!

Are you the same guy who kept saying watch this space after ever rumour when the previous window was open? Which i might add they didnt happen!

ACHILLES.

Thats the most unremarkable prediction of the week

The chances of a new signing are above 99%. The chances are very high that at least one of - Doni, Jones, Aurelio, Wilson - will leave.

Through the Storm

Also, round about dinner time, some players will feel hungry... Fact

There must be really very little happening in the world of football for this to make it onto the rumours page...

Faizal

Some of you guys really need to chill out.... This was obviously a joke..

Banana Bender

My Hp sauce could of told me that.

Very mystic Mike, in fact it's almost spooky what you can predict!

You should take that crystal ball on tour with you!!!!!. Titled "how to state the bleed'n obvious".

Wow... are you some kind of wizard? mystical powers of deduction.

Mystic Mike - is there any chance you may only be 6 or 7 years old ?.

Hi ed, Is it very likely we will buy Luuk de jong in the summer. And will he be interested in joining us. He is really growing into a top player. {Ed001's Note - the summer is a long way away. But he has indicated interest in joining us.}

Ed001 do you think we should try sign him before the euros if he has a good one who knows what might happen to price and other clubs becoming interested i know we did most of our buisness early last year but i remeber 1 of the eds saying he wasn't interested in a move before the euros or did that just mean while the season is going do you think he'd have a problem moving as soon as the season finishes but before the euros
giblet {Ed001's Note - he might well move before the Euros, his issue was he didn't want to move during the season and mess up his chance of going to the Euros. But there would be nothing stopping him getting a move tied up before taking part, I don't know if his club would be so keen on that though.}

I could see why they wouldnt be if he has a fantastic tournament is price could go up a few million do you think that we might have to wait till after the euros to sign a few of the players we want then i suppose it depends on what players were after but im sure a few of the players were interested in will be at the euros

Hi eds I know the summer is still long off but will we be after isla? {Ed001's Note - no idea sorry.}

02 Feb 2012 18:25:58
hi eds, do you think that aurelio will be leaving in the summer as he is quite old and we have a world class lb in enrique as well as robinson who will grow but atm aurelio is getting in robinsons way. {Ed001's Note - yes, I expect so.}

Any way he is free agent in the summer, So i think he is most likely to leave.

They should just terminate his contract cant remember the last time he played. Has he even started a game this season? {Ed001's Note - he played in one of the cup games didn't he?}

He came on against wolves in the dying minutes. he's had a knee and an achilles problem through this season. was a world class player before be damaged his achilles the first time playing for us in europe. never recovered from it. think he will move on. nearly did a few years back roy hodgson resigned him.

Should never of resighned him too injury prone for my liking

Why are we siginng so many goalkeepers ? We seem to have a collection of them . I thought Brad jones was going to leave back last summere but he is still on our books ?

Also, I hear Doni is on way out ? I dont understand why we sign there foreign understudy keepers, as they stay a season and leave as they dont get games and miss family, Why dont we have a good young English keeper as back up to Pepe with the plan to succeed him ? Makes more sense to me, both financially and tactically.

views ?

Raks

At the end of the day, a player is an asset to the the club. The club in turn is a business. If we can bring in these young goalkeepers (doesn't have to be a goalkeeper though) for little to no money, then sell on the following season, the club can make some good money. Buy for £500,000, be on the books of a club with a name as famous as Liverpool, someone wants that player next summer for £1mill. Easiest £500,000 the club will make. I understand wages come off this etc, but it's still a decent profit. Sometimes players in aren't always about playing. Player development can make the club some money.

I think we should just use an academy graduate as a backup keeper and if he isnt good enough once reina leaves or retires then we buy fc basels keeper he is quality and cheap for his quality

All fair say to get young and english, but they are either bad or expensive, if reina got a freak injury next week and we had to play a youngster for a month or so it would suck!

manno

Why dont we have a young English keeper?
Erm because the english players available tend to be overpriced and crap.
Remember NESV wont compete with the top clubs, so we've got even less chance of signing a top Eng player.
And in any case, we havent won a thing since 1966 internationally. ( And nothing before 66 either!)

I agree with manno, and the first response is the way it is. The trick is to find mature keepers who are good enough for the EPL who are willing be an understudy for 1-2 years. Reina isn't going anywhere for about 10 years.

We signed a young welsh keeper didnt we? still foreign but pretty close lol

Belford/Danny ward are both real good keepers from what i h ave seen. belford more since i dont really watch wrexham but he is still good and is Wales u19 goalie so he is probably more then half decent

Eh Belford , the current reserve keeper is English , not that that's a sign of quality , the opposite actually

The guy who wrote nesv wont compete with big clubs needs a slap. They allowed us to spend over 100million albeit it was money already banked can you imagine any previous owner doing that? No.

Godd afternoon Eds,
Just want to say, thanks for all of your hard work during this repetitive January window, it was by far a complete nightmare sorting through the garbage on this site (Cavani rumours etc) and I honestly have no idea how you cope with the crap.

Anyway, quick question with regards to the summer, obviously you don't have a crystal ball but out of interest, would you expect Glen Johnson to be leaving this summer? To have a clause in your contract that you MUST play is ridiculous to me, and I can imagine Kenny isn't best pleased that Johnson has to be pretty much first name on the team sheet every week. Plus the 90k+ a week wages he's on.

I only ask because I don't think he's much good at the whole... defensive side of defending.. haha.

I'm hoping Martin Kelly will become more of a regular, because to me, he's a great prospect and performed maginificently against Manchester United.

Thanks again,

Hooch. {Ed001's Note - I do expect Johnson to leave in the summer.}

Would you mind me asking why?
Thanks again mate,

Hooch. {Ed001's Note - because Kelly is capable of doing the same job better for less. Johnson is not playing well, he picks up a fair few injuries and he is paid a ridiculous amount.}

Agree. Hard to justify paying a fella that type of money when Kelly has shown he's more than capable of performing well in that position. Even though Kelly hasn't played a huge amount of games - he's definitely proved he can handle the Premier League. Hard luck to Liverpool reserves last night. They looked like they contracted the 'being the better side but not winning' bug from the senior squad! Surely Raheem Sterling is deserving of a couple of substitute appearances for the first team in the last few months of the season?

Well may be you didn't know but he signed a new contract with Kenny after Kenny took over, so its obvious Kenny rates him than you do, and there is no clause saying he should play in that and Kenny picks him because he thinks he is the best Right back

I agree with everything Hooch said about Kelly and Johnson. The other thing I'd add about Kelly is I really like the extra dynamic he gives, specifically on corners. On the corner that Agger scored against United, Kelly, Agger, Skrtel, and Carroll give Kenny four massive bodies in front of goal. De Gea had bad positioning on Agger's goal, but those four massive trees dressed in red probably contributed to that a bit too.

-Red Socks

I agree, glen has not long renewed his contract? if kenny and the club are so unhappy with him then why re-new a long and expensive contract and why keep the clause in there? little logic to this rumour. and i also add that although he has his moments (like enrique has in the last few weeks) he has been an integral part of a very sturdy defensive unit this season. feel he gets some bad press at times. i fully expect him to be playing at the euro's with capello's squad.

Thanks ed because he total CARP kelly is much better any idea for how much eds
Shanio1

I believe Kelly is the best right back, we've atm. Hope, to see him feature more regularly. Best wishes for his future, here. YNWA

What, in particular, makes you think he's going to leave Ed? Just curious... {Ed001's Note - because he earns more than he is worth to the club and we have players there to replace him. For the people going on about how he must be rated and how we don't want to lose him, ask yourself why we have been closely monitoring every half decent right back in Europe.}

Cant see johnson going, why would he, he is awesome down the wing and his defending is not that bad, and what clause??

I don't understand why people don't see the value in getting £10+million for a player who, despite being good going forward, has too many holes in his game defensively to be a quality RB, especially when there IS a quality RB waiting in the wings on a fraction of the wages. Put it this way, would you rather have Johnson and a £10M new LW/RW (wherever downing doesn't play), or Kelly and a £20M new LW/RW next season? It's a fairly easy decision to make.

Rugby Parker

Don't know why Johnson get bashed so much he is a good player that gives attacking options and is being unfairly slated although Kelly is good I still think Johnson is the better player and I hope he don't leave

If Johnson's contract says he must play on the right, when fit, my eyes must be deceiving me as he played, most of last season at left back, just s he did recently away at Citeh.

We certainly lack two footed players, where is the rationale to sell?

Kelly good though he is, is accident prone, as evidenced by his suicidal backpass to Aguero recently.

Why exactly would we sell the best attacking full back in the Premiership, is it because he is a saleable asset if it is I'm extremely worried about FSG {Ed001's Note - hardly the best, he can't even cross a ball to save his life.}

ED001 you said weve been tracking decent right backs to replace johnson dont you think we should stick with kelly and flanno rather than spending money when we have them 2 and it may hamper there development i mean most people feel kelly is good enough all ready and i know he can get injured but then we have flanno unless we bought someone like isla who can play right back and right wing i just dont see the point in buying a right back when we all ready have 2 good youngsters but isla would be a good choice
giblet {Ed001's Note - I would be happy with Kelly, but Flanno is being tried out in midfield as he lacks the pace to be a modern fullback.}

Eds what have you got against johnson because this isn't the fist time you've been calling for his head for a while now. I think your a ****. Fair enough he makes the odd mistake but Idon't think he's that bad and can be a good asset {Ed001's Note - thanks for that. Glad you have thought it through and given such a great argument for keeping a player on ridiculous wages to play in our defence, despite him being unable to defend and being constantly out of position in the centre of midfield when the opposition attack us. Clearly you have such a great knowledge of football that I bow to your great wisdom. He has ability, but he is lazy, constantly wanders infield when we need width, can't tackle, has the positional sense of a 5 year old, constantly loses concentration, will moan rather than chase a pass that he could have got to if he had not been thinking about robbing new toilet seats from B&Q instead of getting his head in the game. His crossing is amongst the worst in England, when he even bothers to cross, he doesn't work hard enough to get back when possession is lost, which is why we have to use Kuyt to cover for him so often. If he could wake up and play like he did last season on the left, when he was excellent, then he would be a good asset. But he doesn't perform like that unless he is on the left. Clearly the problem is his attitude, or he would have been awful on the left.}

I would be more than satisfied if we sold Johnson, as long as we got someone like Isla who can both Play fullback or winger

I had noticed someone saying flanno was playing a few games in midfield i thought it was due to injuries lol cheers for the reply
giblet

Johnson is a good player - you cannot argue that - he's just prone to the odd lapse as he tries to overplay sometimes - a bit like Enrique on the other side and gets caught in possession in dangerous areas. I think KK should try him right midfield ahead of Kelly - solves the RM problem and then Downing can play on the left. Worth a try for a few games ?

Eds they have trying to get rid for a while I think. I think last year they tried for Micah Richards last January. But I just can't see them getting rid as he would love getting his 90,000 a week. If we were to sell him who would take on hia ridiculous wages when there is cheaper, better options in the Premier League alone.

Can't see any team that would buy him tbh

Ed, just because you don't rate him you are trying to create a witch hunt. if he is sold questions will be raised about fsg's aspirations {Ed001's Note - not true at all, perhaps you are missing the point, I think he has ability, the issue is that he is not performing to the level he himself set last season. I have no interest in a witch hunt, I am not that childish, I am just giving an opinion as to why he would and should go, like I was asked. You are just coming on and having a dig at the owners for no reason whatsoever, your ludicrous idea that selling a poor rightback on ridiculous wages makes them look bad, only makes you look clueless.}

He may not be the best defender but he certainly gives us balance at the back hes just as injury prone as Martin Kelly tbh , why are you so arsed about past histories. He stole a toilet seat ? Not as bad as the clubs name up like Suarez has done with this stupid racism s**te {Ed001's Note - what balance does he give? Watch the games, he goes missing constantly and puts us under pressure at the back, hence the desperate need to have a defensive midfielder playing every match. What has Suarez got to do with anything? We were discussing why Johnson needs to go and I made a passing reference to the fact that he has proven himself to be a complete knob in the past with a serious attitude issue ie thinking it funny to shoplift, like it was just a big joke.}

Hey ed, is mauricio isla intended to be johnson's replacement?
Indian Buzzer {Ed009's Note - I believe we have been monitoring his progress recently, but there is no chance concrete decisions will have been taken as of yet to who will be bought. I too agree that Johnson could be moved on, provided a replacement can be found. Why Dalglish persists with playing him above Kelly is a mystery.}

Hey guys, if u follow Kristoffer Peterson on twitter, he has said that he is with the Swedish keeper Nordfeldt, showing him liverpool. Seems that the deal is very near to be announced. YNWA

Kenny will step to Director of Football role in summer and Jose Mourinho will be appointed LFC manager. #markmywords

Not going to happen jose stated a while back that he would never manage liverpool or aresnal he will take over at city if they fail to win anything or tottenham if redknapp takes the england job

Ive heard that too, and agree!
Stu!

The same mourinio who said he would never manage liverpool. the one with the most boring style of play ever. tosh

Although he might win something he'd bring the office of manager of Liverpool into disrepute.

Please god no!!

He wants the united job so it won't happen

Chris in Tamworth

Even, if we all suspended all logic and reason and accepted this story was true - there would probably only be 3 or 4 people in Europe who would know about it. Amazing that one of that tight knit group of high ranking Liverpool board members and/or Real Madrid chiefs let something slip to somebody who posts on a website called 'Football Rumours'? God help us! In other news Jack Charlton is all set to make a move to La Masia as Barcelona feel they may need a 'Plan B' to catch Real Madrid this season. Mark my Words, Wait and See, Remember the name, etc etc...

While the statement has no foundation, I could imagine it happening. Liverpool has a great history and brand that would appeal to Mouriniho. However the owners would have to get rid of both Commoli and dalglish

Sorry never completed my response. I hope the owners never feel desperate enough to hire him, as he would do everything to change the culture of no individual is bigger then the club

This is better than the, "my mates a milkman in Napoli" ha

We might actually win something with him. Boring style or not, a win is a win. LFC can't be picky about the style of play - currently we have no style.

Utter rubbish.

So apart from the FACT that Mourinho said he had "personal reasons" for never wanting to manage LFC, what would happen if Kenny won the Carling & FA Cup and qualified for the Champs League ?.. Also, why would the owners give Kenny a 3yr contract only to get rid of him after 1yr ?.. NEVER Happen!

Yeah, sure. And I am the greatest striker of all world.

It's a smokescreen...
to kenny staying another year

I think Mourinho would take the job if offered. If money is made available. His earlier comments mean nothing.

However, I do not think he will be offered. The owners are attune to fan sentiment. I believe Kenny will be manager next season - unless we finish low down the league table.

I believe the man the owners want is Guardiola, and will wait for him.

I hope Jose would never be given a look at here. If it were true that KK was to ever take on a director of Football roll, then I think we would go after either Pep or Brian laudrap (spelling). Pep has his famous rolling year to year so who knows how easy it may be to get him.

The Thruff

Jose mourinho is a s**t manager when he goes to a club with no money s**t players and bottom of the prem and then wins somthing then ill say he,s a goog manager city chelsea man u r madrid inter all all good clubs with more money than most go manage blackburn and see how good u r

Pep all the way

I would personally tear up my season ticket, scarves, kids kits the lot..... Still remember that mercenary with his fingers to his lips running the touchline to our fans. And there's people on here who want him. He needs to go back to Chelsea. Soulless like himself.

YNWA

To the one who said mourinho is a s**t manager, he won the champions league with porto, he won the champions league with Inter, a team who mancini could do f**k all with, as well as a team full of aging has-beens. Surely that is the same with all the big managers.... 'I'd like to see Ferguson be manager of Wigan and see how good u r', utter tool. if you think mourinho is a bad manager, you are demented. {Ed001's Note - his teams consistently cheat, dive, feign injury, whine and foul their way to victory. He is good at what he does because he is the biggest cheat in the sport. People laughed because he cheated a suspension by sneaking in to the dressing room in a laundry basket, he should have been kicked out of the sport for it. It was plain and simple cheating. He is a man who will stop at nothing to win, no morals, no guts. Liverpool do not need a man like him.}

Going from 'Ronaldo, Benzema, Di Maria, Ozil, Alonso'.... to 'Carrol, Downing, Kuyt, Adam, Henderson'.... WOW that'd be like switching from Waitrose to Asda

Cant see him being tempted tbh

Did liverpool not turn him down and appoint rafa? im sure thats his 'personal reasons'
bulford-widnes ozy

I like your thinking

Or maybe not

hi eds. I am looking at different web sides and is a lot of talk about Liverpool signing Carlos Texeira. Is it any truth. All the web sides are confirming that he signed for LFC {Ed002's Note - Joao Carlos Teixeira has signed for the reserves.}

02 Feb 2012 13:06:34
Hey Ed's, remember there was talk about us signing David Villa before he got injured, do you still think we might sign him at the end of the season? {Ed002's Note - No.}

02 Feb 2012 11:33:36
Just another Shankly tale, not a quote per se. Whilst signing into a Hotel on a Euroean trip Shanks signs himself in under occupation as "football". He then signs his address as "Anfield". The receptionist protests and says he has to indicate where he lives. Shank's reply was priceless...."Lady, in Liverpool there is only one address that matters and that is where I live"

I can't say I'm suprised we didn't buy during this window never mind a so called Marquee signing but can't help think we really could of made a push for top 4 with a decent striker maybe a winger. Top 4 still possible obviously but I think it shows a slight lack of ambition!

What if the striker and winger Kenny wanted were not available?

what if the striker and winger were available but were at grossly inflated proces, should we pay or wait till summer? Paying over inflated prices might compromise future signings, is that okay?

What if we bought a striker and a winger that turned out to be rubbish? would Kenny be to blame making more Rush decisions in the January window and should he go if that transpires?

Buying no one was the right thing to do for Liverpool even the sheik with all his money bought no one of consequence, a loan deal for a 32 year old does not seem like the sheik set the transfer market on fire?

Time to Get Real FFS.

I agree to most off what u r saying but how can u compare our transfer activity (or lack of it) to a team who already has such strength in depth already?

I don't think anyone was available in this window and no value for money either, players won't move before the Euros, you saw no one made waves in this window for this reason. Spurs getting Saha and now Ryan Nelson - they are supposedly a better team than us and doing really well, would you be happy as a Spurs fan signing over the hill average players? We have enough players to do well when fit this season, we had a storming end to last season and hopefully the same again with Suarez raring to go, Carroll hitting some form, Henderson settling in, Gerrard back, in the final of one cup and ambition to reach another final. Arsenal and Chelsea stuttering in the league much like us. It's anyone's game. Another new player trying to settle into a team when things are gelling could have been bad timing. A year ago it was necessary as we in a right state, not so know, have some faith.

You see from Liverpool a slight lack of ambition, I see from you a lack of faith in the current squad!

How can u compare our transfer activity (or lack of it) to a team who already has such strength in depth already?

Easy - I used my brain and considered what I already outlined, added to the fact that John Henry is not in the super rich league therefore our forays into the transfer market are limited nad we can't just spend to provide some excitement for Fans that just waiting for the Buzz of transfer Night on Sky.

The biggest problem seemed to be by all accounts there were not many players of the calibre of which Liverpool would require.

What was Kenny to do in this case? Go over to where Cavani was and beat him back to England with a stick?

Come on lad have some sense!

LFC already have 4 top strikers in the squad .

Qwerty

I'd rather see players like Henderson Downing and Carroll fill their potential but I do get you with the striker.

Suppose there wans't a huge amount of buisness going on this Jan fueling the movement of players. You know whats its like, that domino effect.

PDUK

But why pay over the odds for a average player in january,wen we can sign a top player in the summer ,

Luis Suarez, Andy Carroll, Craig Bellamy, Dirk Kuyt

Total lack of ambition bobby zamora and liam ridgewell and even wayne bridge or louis saha ryan nelson these were all quality additions that would have done nothing but make the team worse but if we'd signed them maybe that woiuld be a sign of ambition i dont know wether to take this post seriously or not if you look at the deadline day deals its not like many quality players moved and its not like we missed out on anybody of note why over pay for players just keep the money for the summer and sign real quality
my two cents {Ed016's Note - recession....}

How does it show lack of ambition. did you see how much we spent in the summer ?

All it shows is faith in our current team or that our targets were not available

02 Feb 2012 10:38:23
how can tottenham sign ryan nelsen two days after transfer window has shut .I know Redknapp always has more flexible time but two days!!!!!! {Ed002's Note - All London based clubs have an additional two weeks on the transfer window this year.}

Free transfer {Ed002's Note - Not as such - out of contract.}

He had his contract terminated

He had his contract cancelled with Rovers. Thus he wasn't tied to any legal impediment with club and PL over any transfer to another club.

Huh why ? that unfair to all other teams. {Ed002's Note - It was felt that they had not been doing well enough this year and it would give them a little boost.}

I might be wrong but I think his contract at Blackburn was terminated so he was a free agent

Red Ollie

Blackburn transferred Nelsen into a bank account in Malta as an investment for the future so that Harry could withdraw him any time he wanted. Allegedly.

Sean

Ed002 - Brilliant.
Sean - Brilliant-er.

Brilliant response by the ed. some people will believe anything. Ronnie

He was a free agent as blackburn had released him from his contract

Did anyone see on Sky Sports Blackburn saying good luck to him because he's not fit, been injured for ages and not been able to play a full game in 8 months....Spurs are saying he's fit for their game on Monday! Weird

Yeah, but next to Ledley King, even if both his legs are in plaster, he'd seem fit.

02 Feb 2012 10:16:03
Does anyone know any sites where I can find which players are out of contract for the summer?

We've been linked with Hoilett who is out of contract in the summer, just wondered who we could potentially look to bring in on bosmans.

RedSG {Ed002's Note - tinyurl.com/6smd33y}

Thanks for that Ed002, there are some very good players on that list.

Richards

There is Alan Dzagoev, I hope the info is true and we sign some kind of pre contract with him. He is 21 and we could potentially save 15-20 mil and he could be a 30mil player in 2 years. He is what we need.

Cristian Rodriguez, Darjo Srna, Alan Dzagoev, Douglas aswell... All very good players. Dzagoev is the stand-out one. Ed is it possible that we could talk to Dzagoev now and offer him a pre-contract? {Ed001's Note - it is possible, yes.}

Hey eds i posted afew days ago that the owners wer over and they wernt best pleased with kennys management and his job could be under threat i think it was talksport i heard it on.. was just wonderingwas that true? and could that be the reason we diddnt add to the squad because either a) the owners dont trust kk with ther money b) give him to the end of the season 2 prove 2 them hes the rite man? and surely the last week must of swayed them a little. CRAIG {Ed002's Note - I am sure at the end of the season the board and management team will sit down and look at the progress being made. A cup final, last eight of another cup and, in my view, still in the mix for a CL place right now, so not too bad. As for transfers, I explained repeatedly not to expect much to happen and certainly not to expect the Cavani, Higuain, Hazard, Goetze et al buys. The squad has been pretty much overhauled already and I suspect is in the position where most changes will be natural progression (replacing those retiring and leaving) with youngsters beginning to be integrated with the first team over the coming years and players bought as necessary.}

Thanx for the quick reply eds. just so its clear im a kk fan as i think a high percentage of the support is or should be and think kennys done well if youd offer me as a supporter to still be in with a real shout of top four c.c final and f.a cup last 8 at this stage of the season id have gladly accepted that so am pleased with the clubs progress on and off the field. CRAIG

Just a quick point. DC is in charge of scouting and identifying targets. If they are not happy with the players bought so far surly he would be for the chop first?

If not and they are happy with DC (as his promotion would suggest) then why would KK position at the helm effect the club spending money on targets DC has identified?

Huyton Red - Keep up the good work ed's and Keep the Faith Reds. Never gunna be a overnight fix. We were relegation fooder this time last season.

Im not 100% but i think kenny has final say on who we do n dont buy wether dc likes them or not CRAIG

You haven't got a clue get behind kk will u

I have a little passion now to see the summer and I think we could expect to see movement and I'm hoping these names are involved. Luuk De Jong, Maurico Isla, James McCarthy, Marko Marin and Abel Hernandez.

I know we have looked at these players and I just threw Hernandez in there cos I think he would be great. Ed's, based on recent activity, do you agree our attentions will be towards those players in the summer or is there other names?

LFC Padddy {Ed002's Note - The summer is a long way off and much will depend on league position at the end of the season.}

Out the ones u mentioned i think we only need McCarthy as he can replace Lucas or play with him as Adam clearly cannot play that position, De Jong would be a good choice as he will be replacing Kuyt and Marin could maybe replace Maxi.

Morning Eds. Can you confirm what, if anything, has happened with Danny Wilson? I've read that he left the club on transfer deadline day but is it a sale or a loan? Am hoping just a loan for experience as he looks a good prospect. Thanks in advance. {Ed002's Note - He was loaned to Blackpool but not at the end of the window, somewhere toward the start.}

Hi eds or Macca do u know of any failed Liverpool approaches {Ed002's Note - THere is nothing beyond what we have previously discussed that I am aware of. The nonsense from Twitter regarding the likes of Cavani etc. is just that, nonsense.}

Eds, my mate text me this today - god knows what truth is in it - prob just a conspiracy theory really, anyway here goes.
Jermaine Defoe was in a Liverpool hotel last night, hence his ommission from Spurs squad....awaiting tfr to us.....spurs were going to sign Rodallega from Wigan to replace him. However, when Van de Vaart and Adebayor got injured last night , wigan knew how desperate they would be to sign Rodallega so upped the price........Spurs refused to pay the new figure quoted so pulled the plug on Defoe's tfr to Liverpool. {Ed001's Note - sounds like nonsense to me, especially as Defoe was in London last night, Rodallega's move had already fallen through, hence his inclusion on the bench and Spurs were busy sorting out Saha and Pienaar's moves.}

Was'nt defoe injured , plus we can do better than defoe in the summer

Your mate was spoofing! Defoe was at whl last night picked up injury at watford, he knows he's loved at the lane & under harry his overall game has improved tenfold & far better goalscorer than any pool striker
