Liverpool will be signing Adam Johnson, Ashley Young, Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing, Gary Cahill, Jose Enrique and a striker. My sources are saying we're planning to make a bid for out of favour Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema but this is just an option for now.

Moe Syzlak is set to walkout on the BLUEs**tE.As the board will force the sale off 3 star players, with only half the cash given back to Moe.But the real reason for Moe to be so upset is that BAINES £12m is crossing the park.He will joining SCOTT DANN in our new back 4

Macca, do you think that if we sign Young and Downing, we will get another winger? And you heard anything on Benzema? Im hearing we're planning to make a move soon.

I think the Lavezzi rumours could be off the mark. His agents told Man City where to get off and confirmed his employer wants to stay at Napoli and play against his Argentinian team mate Messi in the champons league next year. Apparently he's happy at Napoli and looking forward to the teams first european champions football since Maradonas era in the 1990's.

Macca, any news even if it's not concrete I have been told that Enrique deal is off Kk not convinced and is being brainwashed into going for a younger lb (a bit exaggerated but even without the new owners we would buy youth but me thinks there a bit to extreme)

Philippe Coutinho could come on loan next year very talented player and like alberto aquilani once he is playing and happy he might want to stay. Source caughtoffside and yes i know awful source.

Players leaving this summer will be

Aquilani
Konchesky
Degen
Maxi
Aurelio
Cole
Kyrgiakos
Ngog
Poulson
Jovanovic
El Zhar
jones
and about 3 of the younger players
this should raise somwhere between 45 -50 million

Marveaux deal is near enough done and hope of getting Mexes on a free isn't out of the question. Another CB we will be putting in an offer for will be Dann and if Birmingham go down he may well come on the cheap, if Birmingham avoid the drop and want well above what hes worth expect an offer for Sakho. Also if Wolves go down an offer will be put in for Jarvis if they manage to stay up and Wigan go down then there will be an offer for N'Zogbia. Ashley Young was thought to be heading towards Man Utd but has doubts because doesn't think he will get much first team football so now looks like to be heading to Anfield knowing Liverpool are on the up under KK and will be back in the champions league soon. Hes going to wait till Kenny Signs a contract before he commits. There will be 1 more Winger coming in who is going to be the Marquee signing and everything is being kept quite about who it is. For left back Newcastle are close to accepting a deal for Enrique, there won't be any problems agreeing terms with the player. For centre mid there will be an offer for Sissoko. If it fails we will turn to Adam. The last player we will make a bid for is Lukaku who will be one of the best fowards in the world if he chooses Chelsea over us then Bojan will come in.

RB- Kelly/ Johnson / Flanagan/ Carragher
CB - Carragher / Agger / Dann or Sakho / Skrtel/ Wilson / Mexes / Kelly
LB - Enrique / Johnson / Robinson / Agger
RM - Kuyt / Young / Jarvis / Johnson / ?????
CM - Gerrard / Meireles / Lucas / Sissoko / Shelvey / Spearing
LM - Marveaux / Young / Jarvis/ ?????
ST - Suarez / Carroll / Lukaku or Bojan / Kuyt

Just on this

Ed wts the deal with nikolay mihaylov spell I knw he dint play for us work permit I think and he's at twente but is he there permanently and if so is there a buy back option and would he be of interest and if so is he good enough cheers {Ed002's Note - He was transfered there permanently.}

mihaylov has recently said on lfc.tv that lpool have first option and he wants to come back if pepe goes , ill try find the link on lfc.tv and post it, he is a really good keeper.

just my own info i heard : young and downing for 32m combined but villa may want insua and joe cole as part of deal heard of my friend who is villa supporters chairman of ireland.
ngog is to be used in a deal for babafemi gomis off lyon.

02 May 2011 17:16:54
Ed, do you reckon there is any chance that we will sign Honda, Banega, Lukaku or sanchez. I know that sanchex is always denied, but we are a side on the up with south american players who can guarentee him 1st team football? {Ed002's Note - There is no chance of Sanchez, a small chance of Lukaku but may need to pay over the odds. A slim chance of naega and Liverpool have had the chance to sign Honda and decided not to take it.}

Sakho (CB), future france captain and young however with a lot of expirence under his belt
Enrique (LB) did well at the weekend against us and can cross the ball well and defend like a LB should be able to
Sissoko (CM) always does hi8s best for his club wears his heart on the sleve
M'Vila (CDM) a Veria type of player in his arsenal days in the way he plays
Payet (RW/ LW) seems to play alot like valencia, i like the way he plays a hard working winger, who gets his fair share of assists
Lukaku(ST) the next drogba enough said

Ed do you think that any of these players are likely to be in a liverpool shirt by the 1st september and would they be any good and suit kennys style of play from what you know about them {Ed001's Note - well first off how the hell did you figure Enrique did well against us? He gave the ball away every time he got it! He was abysmal, like every single player in their team. I expect at least one of them to join us, we are interested or have been interested in them in the run up to the transfer window.}- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Ed - You say at least 1 . .if you had to pick - Who would you say is most likely ?? {Ed002's Note - Sissoko and Sakho are the most likely.}

Do you know any other teams interested in these two players + Arn't we priced out of a possible move for Sakho ? thanks

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal are very interested in Sakho and their is growing interest from Liverpool, Napoli and AC Milan. Aside from strong interest in Sissoko from Juventus and AC Milan, Genoa and probably Napoli are also interested. I have no idea if Liverpool can afford these players, but I anticipate that they can.}

Ed lot of chat bout nzogbia to Liverpool - you have any info on that?

{Ed002's Note - Certainly not out of the question - but no information to substantiate it.}

Well I would think you would want ( to challenge for title) a player who knows the position inside out and can help Robinson maybe to develop . A wing back would be fine but who would be best option? Armero looks good but would he be good enough for prem?

{Ed002's Note - That is the slight risk you take with all players. Aurelio is still at the club and Robinson is a young kid, albeit talented. Liverpool should be buying to improve the squad - buying players who are going to be useful for helping out and showing the rolpes to the youngsters is not the way forward really - but a benefit if the incoming players can do that.}

I agree but i meant i think it would be best to get an experienced proven lb/ lwb who can go straight into the team and perform well whilst also letting Robinson develop as opposed to an unproven 21/ 22 year old who would stint the growth of Robinson

Who would you prefer Lfc to buy?

{Ed002's Note - Sakho would be an excellent buy as a CB who can provide cover at LB - like Carragher and Kelly can do at CB/RB. Armero can provide cover the whole of the left hand side. They both provide flexibility and options.}

Ed is there any legs in the frank ribery carp or are people just dreaming cos its not the first time iv heard it this month tht he is a good friend wif DC and ribery is goin to be the marquee signing if not they are goin to go after jesus navas they see him going places they think he has got the potential and skill to be the next best thing and can do wonders with liverpool marketing

{Ed002's Note - I don't see any real mileage in a link to Franck Ribery and the matters surrending the Parisienne are not entirely concluded. He would be very expensive if Bayern Munich agreed to sell and he has not had the best of the last couple of years.}

I've heard from a very good source/ ex player that we will be preparing a bid in the next 2 weeks to bring benzema to liverpool in the summer, he also expects kenny to follow up his interest in turan the other two player being talked about at anfield are cissoko and sakho, (spelling?) personally benzema is the only one of these i've seen play but there what i heard i was a guest of the player at the newcastle game with my mate who organises the lfc legends tours in ireland. . whats your take on this ed?.

{Ed002's Note - Sissoko and Sakho are possibles. We were informed benzema was all but doen months ago - my views on that were made clear and riduled at the time; there is little point in revisiting that. Arda Turan looks Atletico Madrid bound. Talks have been going on for a while and he will move this summer. Valencia, apparently, remain interested but Villarreal have dropped any interest that they had. I am surprised that Liverpool have not followed up the interest they previously had in the player.}

{Ed001's Note - lots of people are saying Clichy is the target, I don't know how true it is, I certainly wouldn't see a problem from the Arsenal end as he has been disappointing for them this season. Wenger would prefer Gibbs if he wasn't always out injured, Botelho (I think it is) is also pushing for a first team speck and they have Traore out on loan (though he is likely to be sold as well).}

Okay, so dyu reckon Enrique would be a better option (considering bad form of Clichy) or maybe fork out the cash for Cissokho?

{Ed002's Note - Why another dedicated left back? Why not a centre back who can provide cover? Or a wing back such as Pablo Armero?}

Hi Ed's I have an ok source who told me that are top targets for LB are Clichy for 10m depending on whether Arsenal can get Baines, if not we will go for Enrique and try and persuade Newcastle to sell Enrique for 10m maybe with Insua or Poulsen as makeweight

Should I believe this?

Also heard that we have looked at Sofiane Feghouli, Ryad Boudebouz of Sochaux, and Ahmed Kantari of Stade Brest. Does the ed in the know of Ligue 1 know of interest from Liverpool in these 3 players??

I know that Feghouli is playing in Spain at the minute, think with Almeria on Loan from Valencia, but thot maybe with your french connections you may know something? He is a very promising player. K3 {Ed002's Note - Boudebouz was looked at last summer and in the fall - I don't know of any interest right now. I had forgotten all about Feghouli until you mentioned him - there was a lot of interest when he was young but I think he is now at Velencia. Kantari was a decidely average player - if Liverpool do have an interest in him and the others I am sure they will not cost much - but it is certainly shopping at Tesco not Saks.}

Four big deals set to be completed in June with the ground work done and personal terms agreed are;

Baines from Everton.
Charlie Adams from Blackpool.
Nzogbia from Wigan.
Payet from St.Ettiene.

Combined total of around 35m.

My latest fact from the same source(or rumour if that's what you wish to call it) is that Clichy will be a Liverpool player next season. Deal is in the bag.

It's well known that the areas we're looking to strengthen on and improve on is centre back, left back, wings, midfield and forward.
Targets for most of these areas have been identified and decided on.

These are: Sakho (CB), Sissoko and M'Vila for midfield. These folks are our first choices in their positions and should set us back about £40m combined.
I believe we'll get them all.
We'll easily meet PSG's (reasonable) valuation, which Arsenal have apparently baulked at. As difficult as it will be, I expect Commolli to work his magic and sway Yann and Moussa.

Getting these three lads will prove to be one of LFC's most fantastic piece of business.
Do NOT be fooled by their rather low fees. These are brilliant footballers who in no time will be the best in their positions, believe me.

If, IF, all three of them end up not signing (Fowler forbid), I expect one of Cahill/ Kjaer for centre back and Matuidi and Defour for midfield. These plan Bs are good players themselves who I'm sure will be good additions.
But Moussa, Yann and Mamadou remain the top targets, and I expect them to join.

Regarding left back, I don't think any final decision has been made. Potential targets are being closely monitored. Among these are the usual suspects Baines and Enrique, Izaguirre, Cissokho, Monreal, Angel and I'm sure a couple more others.
With us likely to pay £15m+ for Sakho, I don't us forking out another £15m+ on a defender, therefore, I'd rule out Aly.

On the wings, I see three coming in (two lefties and one rightie), Marveaux being one of them and effectively done.
Though I see Eljero joining, I can't shake off the feeling that the second leftie will be a so-called marquee signing.
Adam Johnson I can't get out of my head.
But, as Ed002 said coupla weeks ago, Mata - as highly unlikely as he is - could be a surprise arrival.
Eljero and Balazs may be plan Bs.
Whatever eventually happens, I'll be happy with either Eljero and Balazs, as I've always said.

For the right, I think the top targets here really are Young and Payet. I don't think a final decision has been made about either.
I say don't rule out Albrighton or Hernandez.
I can't even bring myself to make a conjecture about which one will join.
But rest assured that whoever signs will be a good addition to the side.
I don't think highly of Young, but I think highly of Kenny's ability to improve a player.

Forward, again, don't think a final decision has been made, although targets have been identified and likely narrowed down. So many of them have interested Commolli and Dalglish and a number of them are very much possible.

Imo, we'll be looking for someone who's already a big thing (e.g. Benzema) or one with the potential of being a big thing (e.g. Lukaku).
We'll not go back for Llorente in my view, and Benzema we might, but I think it unlikely he'd join. The final choice/ decision will be between Romelu, Radamel and Hulk.
Rossi, Wolfswinkle, Hoaroa, Gervihno, and a host of others mentioned will be fallback options.

Romelu for me is the one who'll eventually put pen to paper.
The kid is the best striker prospect in Europe, what with him likely to be as good as, and potentially better than, Didier. He's tailor-made for the Prem and his age is another plus factor.
£26m for this kid would be money well spent.

Really, I see no argument against this signing. The "he's not Prem-proven- mantra has time and again been shown to be absolute garbage, more recently by Suarez and the Mexican.
We took Torres when many doubted him and deemed his fee unjustified.
We did the same with Luis when many a cretin were spewing "the Dutch league is no place to judge a player's ability" nonsense.

Let's do the same again with Romelu.
This kid will be great people, believe.
We've lost out many fantastic players in the past through some really stupid, bovine actions. Let history not repeat itself.

Lastly, Ed002, have you managed to find out the English club that's strongly after Dzagoev? Have a feeling it's United.
I'm somehow not convinced Liverpool's considered him, which is a shame really as he's an immense footballer.

Fowler Bless Ye All
Cudroe {Ed002's Note - Nobody seems to know who is chasing after Dzagoev - all I know is it is an English side and not Chelsea.}

{Ed002's Note - He will probably be bought as a squad player.}

I can't speak on behalf of Sahin, but if I were a player with the ability he has and the potential to become world class, why would he sit on the bench? I would much rather be playing week in week out and becoming a world class player. Not be a second choice.

I just don't understand it, everyone goes to Madrid yet so many career's have gone down hill.

{Ed002's Note - Squad players don't all sit on the bench all the time you know. He is young, going to a major club, he has to prove that he is worth a start. Tactically there will be games where he will start from the bench and sometimes not be included at all.}

DanTheRedman {Ed002's Note - There is no fee agreed between the two sides yet but it is no surprise at all that Madrid is his favoursed destination. It is certainly no surprise that he did not seek a move to England.}

Are Madrid favorites for him do you think? He'll probably be another flop and sold in 2 years time for half the fee they paid for him.

Where would he fit in the side? He's not better then Alonso, that's for sure.

{Ed002's Note - He will probably be bought as a squad player.}

Why are Fulham going to be in the Europa League??

{Ed002's Note - A place is always awarded to the next highest placed London club not already in Europe.}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I think you're being a bit sarcastic here Ed. Tell the poster it's because Fulham have the best fair play record in the PL. You naughty Ed.

Blair Mayne YNWA

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure they have the best fair play record, but they are the highest placed team in teh fair play league who are not already in Europe. The last time I looked at the table Chelsea were top, Fulham second, and Spurs third. Perhaps Spurs could sneak in if needs be.}

what the hell is the fair play league?!

JSR34-YNWA

{Ed002's Note - Their is a series of Europe wide fair play leagues with teams ranked for number of yellows, reds, nifty football etc.. The three highest ranked leagues (at present Norway, England and one other I cannot recall) each get one extra place in the Europa League. This goes to the highest placed team that has not already qualified for Europe. The last time I looked Chelsea were at teh top, but they had already qualified, and Fulham were second - so they are best placed to get one of the three additional places. The idea is to reward the good guys.}

02 May 2011 12:23:47
Alright guys, as I have mentioned a few times Sakho is a key target for Liverpool and is expected to arrive this summer. Strong links with Jarvis and Aly Cissokho. Marveaux is all but done and expected to go through at the start of the transfer window.

I personally think Liverpool are unlikely to sign Moussa Sissoko this summer. I haven't heard anything from my sources about a formal approach for Lavezzi so at the moment I think it is press speculation, although I think he would a fantastic addition to the squad.

Been away a couple of days. Any mention been made of us signing Malouda from Chelsea? Spanish press say this is going to happen and claim good source. Fee 14Million.

02 May 2011 11:50:33
Heard from a reliable source liverpool are putting together a 35m package for man city players lescott, johnson and milner. watch this space

02 May 2011 11:50:58
Also I heard we are keeping an eye on these ed Fabio Borini, Paco Alc cer, Connor Wickham, Lacina Traore, and Bojan .You heard anything ? Isn't Borini on a fee in the summer? He may be worth a shot.

Welshred {Ed002's Note - Borini's transfer would be free but agreement would need to be reached with Chelsea for compensation for his training as a youth.}

Hey ed, how come in the guardian little transfer gossip box it says that we are quite likely to pursue interest in '20 million rated Hugo Loris'? Reina's already committed hasn't he?

Cheers,

LTLIKMK

{Ed002's Note - I guess that we should conclude that if Dalglish was watching Lloris rather than anyone else at the Lyon game then it is either a contingency plan or Reina has told the club that he wishes to leave. I would suggest just taking this as unfounded speculation for now.}

I heard Liverpool are scouting Malaga's Jose Salomon Rondon. Any truth in this ed ? I believed he has scored 13 times this season. Great prospect at the age of 21 .

Welshred {Ed002's Note - I have no knowledge of interest from Liverpool but Fenerbahce have said that the player is one who they are tracking. There have been unsubstantiated reports of interest by a few other sides, Genoa, Newcastle, Espanyol and Arsenal, but nothing firm.}

Sammy Lee was at the Wigan everton game looking at wigans James McCarthy.

{Ed002's Note - I am no good at comparing players but Sakho is strong and versatile and I think a good addition. I am not sure how everyone has come to a comclusion that there will be a "marquee signing" - perhaps that will be Sissoko.}

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

sakho sounds a good buy if the gooners don't get in there first then.

not sure why everyone thinks there will be a 'marquee' signing to be honest, i'm not sure if there refering to price like the carroll deal or just an excellent player like the suarez deal, i would prefere the later. which is why i said mata, i would think he's still valued about £22M so fairly cheap when you consider some of the inflated prices you hear been quoted for average english players like young and downing.

i expect there to be about 4-5 signings max just intrested to know who your prefered and realistic targets would be, obviously sakho and sissoko but what about lb and forward/ wingers

cheers fester

{Ed002's Note - I have no real preference but think Marveaux will go ahead and Payet would be the best option for the right (if PSG's interest can be overcome). Perotti and Muniain are not out of the questions. For a versatile forward, Van Wolfswinkel, Gervinho and Park Chu-Yong are viable options. Young may also still be an option.}

Hi Ed's,

Do you know why Dean Bouzanis left the club?

I was under the impression he was highly rated and was also being considered for the Aussie World Cup squad last year.

Thanks

Hoola {Ed002's Note - He left by mutual consent after having his contract cancelled by the club. It was likely clear that opportunities would be limited at Anfield and the club have given him the chance to find first team football elsewhere.}

Why are Fulham going to be in the Europa League??

{Ed002's Note - A place is always awarded to the next highest placed London club not already in Europe.}

I think you're being a bit sarcastic here Ed. Tell the poster it's because Fulham have the best fair play record in the PL. You naughty Ed.

Blair Mayne YNWA

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure they have the best fair play record, but they are the highest placed team in teh fair play league who are not already in Europe. The last time I looked at the table Chelsea were top, Fulham second, and Spurs third. Perhaps Spurs could sneak in if needs be.}

{Ed002's Note I will answer what I can Fester. There is nothing concrete about current Lavezzi to Liverpool rumours. However there may be a chance, but keep in mind that Liverpool's interest in Lavezzi pre-dates the January window. He has an agent in Frederic Guerra who does a really good job of talking up his players without being pushy; and a fabulous technique where he denies interest in his players from major clubs thereby attracting attention to them. It is also possible that he will stay at Napoli who will almost certainly have Champions League football next season. The Moussa Sissoko rumour is good though.

Valencia may be preparing for life after Mata but it is unlikely that he is Liverpool bound. Although there is no known interest at the moment, it would not be entirely out of the question that the club could move for the player it remains very unlikely. Piatta is a more likely target for Liverpool.

My opinions on Charlie Adam are well known.

For centre back, as I have previously said there is serious interest from Liverpool in Sakho and he can cover at left back if required. He fits the bill for me far more that Cahill, Richards and the like.}

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

thanks for the reply, i hope there is some legs in the lavezzi thing but i'll try not to get too excited in that case.

i can't recall ever seeing sakho play so can't really comment but i'll take your word that he's upto scratch, sounds versitile so should be usefull eitherway if he can cover the left, who's he in the same mould as?

i'll keep my fingers crossed over mata though as we are due a marquee signing (apparently) and he would fit the bill.

cheers fester

Hi Eds,

Just wondering what the script for the Europa Cup is.

Last year we had to start in the 1st or 2nd qualifying rounds really early because we finished 7th, so by finishing 5th(if we do) do we have to do the same or is it the teams that qualify through the FA and Carling cups?

Ta {Ed002's Note - It should pan out like this by my reckoning:

Fulham: First Qualifying Round
Birmingham: Third Qualifying Round
Liverpool (if fifth): Play Off Round (after third qualifying round)
Stoke (assuming Manchester City are in Champions League): Play Off Round (after third qualifying round)}

Hi edd's and gents,
I'm loving this recent speculation about lavezzi and moussa sissoko both would be amazing additions and both seem plausable but is there anything concrete regarding the lavezzi intrest?.

I know it's a long shot but recently valencia have been linked to a few left sided players like piatti and turan, do you think they could be preparing for life without mata?

I know we've been intrested for a few years he would fit the fsg criteria and would be an awesome addition to any squad. Is there still any intrest there that you know of?

I'm glad the adam intrest seems to be cooling as he's pants. Lucas is twice the player i'm glad to see he's finally getting the credit he deserves as in my eyes the lads not done too much wrong since we signed him from gremio.

I would love to see the following but intrested in what you edds think particularly edd002

Lavezzi (i would use on the right and to cover suarez)

Moussa sissoko

Mata (not impossible but unlikely i'm guessing) or dzsudszak for lw

Lb seems like enrique is imminent although very overpriced, i would rather keep johnson there and spend the money on micah richards for rb and play kelly at cb, or give insua a shot at lb and use johnson rw/ rb

Also like to see momo sissoko to come back to fight with lucas for the dm spot as he's already got prem experience and loves the club.

Lavezzi 18m

Moussa sissoko 13m plus n'gog

Mata 15m plus maxi and pacheco or 16m for dzsudzsak

Richards- 20m

Momo sissoko swap for aquilani plus some cash our way

Fester {Ed002's Note – I will answer what I can Fester. There is nothing concrete about current “Lavezzi to Liverpool” rumours. ED, how much chance is there of adel taarabat comin to liverpool

and on a slightly more wishful thought ED, any chance of neymar?

{Ed002's Note - I don't believe that Liverpool have declared any particular interest in Taarabt although I could be wrong. Clubs in Spain and Italy have certainly made their interest known. I think it is unlikely. There is no chance of Neymar joining Liverpool.}

02 May 2011 08:25:05
Ashley Young will NOT sign for Liverpool. There is a lot better out there for the money let him go to Manchester United.

02 May 2011 08:32:48
ED, who is this sissoko and is he any good? {Ed002's Note - Sissoko is a Toulouse midfield player who I think would make a superb addition to the Liverpool squad.}

We are tracking Iker Muniain of Atletico Bilbao. Damien Comolli is very interested. He is 18, and some fans even call him the new Messi.

Liverpool rekindling interest in Nzogbia. Sammy Lee was at Wigan watching him and Nzogbia will likely be at anfield next year - Comolli is a big fan.
