EDD, WHO, do u think will buy cisse in summer? {Ed002's Note - Why would he be sold in the summer?}

02 May 2012 22:31:56
Hey eds/macca

any chance of diego perotti?

Thanks

Would have been interesting!

This kid was labelled the closest thing you'll get to Messi at one point but then dropped off our radar, I for one was pretty disappointed we didn't go in for him to be honest

02 May 2012 22:27:21
MACCA
will all key transfers happen before the euro's ?

02 May 2012 22:01:52
to the eds or Macca

just remembered when macca suggested that brendon rodgers would take the spurs job in redknapp took the england job. seeing as roy has now accepted the england role does that give a better chance as brendon rodgers becoming the next liverpool manager IF kd leaves.

thanks

Easy answer- no

Id rather paul lambert.

Id rather keep dalglish than have managers coming up from lower teams again. We all remember what happened last time. Unless we can get a high profile man in charge dalglish is good enough for me.

This is a good shout look where we are in the league this team is a disgrace and needs sorting quickly ie right now dont even give kd the final

Brendan Rodgers is not the answer! Very mediocre spell at Watford, rubbish at Reading and Sacked! Look what Reading have done since he left under McDermott with similar players and resources. Yeah Swansea play nice football however that was installed at the club under Roberto Martinez and Rodgers has just evolved it. He might be a good Manager in the making but 'Might' is not good enough for us. We need someone with a proven track record if Kenny leaves not someone who is more miss than hit.

Don't even give kd the final? He got us there you plank.

Kenny Dalglish is staying !!!

hi edds is it true bout lavezzi that he wants to leave and do we have a chance of signing him cheers {Ed002's Note - There is interest in Levezzi from several clubs including Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus, Zenit, PSG and particularly Inter and AC Milan. I think it would take a very high offer - more than 30M euros, some trading or a third-party ownership deal bid to get Napoli to sell the player who is unwilling to extend his existing contract which runs to 2015. Inter have offered 15M euro plus Marco Faraoni, Goran Pandev and Joel Obi but that offer is not acceptable to Napoli.}

Would they accept Aquilani plus cash? {Ed002's Note - No. There is no interest in him from Liverpool at this time.}

02 May 2012 21:40:23
Has Caniggia being watching Dede of Vasco De Gama for us Eds?

KKM... {Ed002's Note - Both Milan clubs, Real Madrid, Fiorentina, Benfica and Roma have shown an interest in Dede over the past couple of years but Juventus, Manchester United and Bayern Munich retain a serious interest in the player. Anzhi may look to make a bid in the summer but would prefer to wait until the end of the season in December.}

02 May 2012 21:39:21
We are going to try and play the Italians at their own game and attempt to sign Castaignos on loan with a view to buy with an appearance clause in the contract.....angelinas right leg.

And it will only be fair if we do the same to Juventus by loaning Krasic. Brad's left leg

The thing is i don't think the Italians are as dumb as Liverpool me thinks.

02 May 2012 20:58:38
Macca do you think we're interested in Younes Belhanda? and any news about Muniain?

02 May 2012 20:14:21
I'll focus on forwards as this is where we have been inept this season. We simply need pace it's an absolute must in modern football. We have Suarez, Gerrard, Lucas, Carroll, we need Robben and Walcott, both fast proven goalscoring widemen.
With Bellars, Downing, Shelvey, Hendo then we'd just need another centre forward.
3 players would make all the difference and once Robben has been with us for 18 months then Raheem would be ready to break into the side on a regular basis.
Robben, Walcott and a decent striker that's all. We just need to stretch the pitch and get down the sides of defences rather than trying to plough through the centre all the time.
Don't care what anyone thinks of Walcott or Robben, they are simply better than anything we have out wide now. Sterling is the future and Jonjo and Hendo can battle it out to prove who should play with Lucas when Gerrard is no longer first choice.
It really isn't that complicated why do people try and make it so?
ALB.

But why Robben wants to come here?
W/O CL football and average salary offer?
Also, Walcott?
Same arguments apply, except the salary might be better here?

It's not football manager! It's not that simple!

Really great players? We have quite a few?
Do not want to play alongside players that are not of the required level of which we also have quite few?
Don't keep them hanging round next season sulking because they can't get a game! get rid as soon as possible. Carroll and Downing first out the door please!
kidmillions

Walcott can't even cross a ball and Robben is a goal cheat what we need is Adam Johnson

What about adam? and there is no chance of us getting robben or walcott, there are plenty of pacey outfits out there that we could realistically sign, unlike robben and walcott who are extremely unlikely.

In what world is Walcott a proven goal-scoring winger?

I agree with your statment about needing players with pace (direct would be good too with a bit of flair) although i think your targets are unachievable as previous comments.

I totally agree, I am now going to watch a youtube video of honda thats two minutes long and then post why we should sign him, then im going to love off hazard because ive seen him play once in the champions league sometime last year. Did i also mention that we should buy rooney, hes a scouser....

Dude u were making a little sense already but u said carroll and walcott.. Now it's utter nonsense....
Musicnation

Downing, Hendo? are you serious?

Sorry but how many goals has walcott scored in the last three seasons?

Walcott is far too inconsistent and in no way is he "world class" and never will be. I would prefer us to look at the up & coming Matt Phillips rather than Walcott.

Robben is "world class" but seems very injury prone. He's also on a very high wage at Bayern which Liverpool will not pay. To top that off he's known as a trouble causer too.

Walcott is naff!

eds any chance of ibrahim affelay ?

collins {Ed002's Note - Afellay has been out injured pretty much all of this season and I think it would be taking a chance before he could really prove his fitness - although he may get two or three games before the end of the season so there will be a chance to take a look. However, I think it likely that he will be available in the summer - and Italy looks like one option if he is.}

02 May 2012 19:56:05
any teams looking at M'baye Niang playing at caen?

Red Rout {Ed002's Note - Expect him to stay in France until at least January.}

Is this the same Niang that played for marsellie? {Ed002's Note - No.}

02 May 2012 19:48:04
Eds,
what is the situation with Kenny?
Ed002 is pretty sure Kenny will leave after the season.

Do you mean he will get sacked or he will step down?

And also when do you expect that to happen?

Do you think they will announce it right after the last game vs swansea?

And finally, do you think Rene Girard could be an option to replace Kenny?

Thank you
Cheers {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers and try the search function over Girard.}

I Don't believe ed002 is a LFC supporter,he or she does not give answers honestly and wants to cause trouble {Ed002's Note - I don't think anyone has ever suggested that I am a Liverpool supporter. Now tell me where I have not given you an honest answer? We give our time for nothing to keep this site running but we still keep getting anonymous MFs like you.}

Kenny is to stay so don't talk nonsense

While I believe that Ed002 is a Liverpool fan...so what if he isn't. Having an objective point of view isn't the worst thing that can happen...

I think Kenny will be simply "reassigned" within the club structure, if they sack him, the grassroot fans will never forgive FSG

Chelsea fan. 0-2 ouch!!

The way FSG are sacking people,what structure is it your actually talking about.

If KING KENNY is meant to be leaving
why is he scouting all these players,
if the owners are in it for the long haul
getting rid of your manager every
12 months is not the answer

02 May 2012 19:31:32
Liverpool reported to have opened negotians with monteppelier for a double swoop for younes belhanda and olivier giroud reporting in france say it would take a bid around 30m euros.

Worth it?

Yes there both quality players but i can gurantee its not true, it never is when you see quality players linked with Liverpool.

You Lie!!

You got a source mate?

Why would Montepiller be so stupid that they open negotiations about their star players 2 weeks before the can win the French League?? Start thinking and stop making up stupid roumers

They have previously told other teams that Giroud will cost 50-60m Euro alone...if it was 30m Euro for the two players we would have paid it already...they are likely to stay and compete in the CL next season

02 May 2012 19:05:53
Ed, you mentioned that LFC are highly interested in M Phillips from Blackpool. Do you think he will be playing for us next session then? {Ed019's Note - There is interest, but no bid has been made)

If Blackpool get promoted maybe a possible swap deal for Adam,
(irishred)

Is worthies taking a chance

02 May 2012 19:17:07
ed's can I ask whats the story with pacheco? he looked like a really good prospect, but whats all about it now? (plz tell me what you think abouth it :D) {Ed002's Note - Dani Pacheco is on Loan at Atletico Madrid with an option to buy him at the end of the season. They have lent him on loan to Rayo Vallecano where I understand he has been struggling. He has made it clear he has no interest in returning, and I expect one way or another he will move on this summer.}

Pacheco became a bit of a bigtime Charlie and was shipped out after mouthing off to Kenny.

Good riddence

PDUK

Absolute BS.
Pacheco has been nothing but a model pro,he simply wants to play. {Ed001's Note - you mean apart from when he wasn't turning up to training or turning up late and sulking like a spoilt child?}

Well then why does he remain a liverpool fan on twiter giving us support and saying he will return...bit strange you would have fort he would distance himself from the club {Ed001's Note - because his contract is still owned by the club and he can still be fined for what he says.}

It seems there is a massive jump these days from being a hot prospect in your teens to becoming a star at senior level. I wonder whether we are expecting too much from the likes of Suso and Sterling, just as we did when Houllier signed 2 other hot prospects Le Tallec and Pongolle as the next big things.

How can athletico Madrid loan Pacheco hour to rayo?

Ins-

Younes Belhanda-Wing/Am-Montpellier-14m
Luuk De Jong-Forward-Fc Twente-10m
Jackson Martinez-Forward-Jaguares-4m
Rasmus Elm-CM-AZ Alkmar-8m
Matt Phillips-Wing-Blackpool-6m

Doni-GK-Corintians-1m
Nathan Eccelston-Wing-Coventry-1m
Dani Pacheco-AM-Espanyol-1m

Total- 34M

I honestly think that might be our best possible scenario. It would be realistic, but still very strong. I would be extremely happy with that summer.

Thanks,

CSeiling

If Younes Belhanda signs we are back...he wont tho.

Wouldnt let eccleston go

Has Aquilanis value decreased that much? He's played a desent amount of games for Milan and he's still a Italian international....5m? Matt Phillips....6m? {Ed002's Note - 7M euros is the deal with Milan.}

No chance of any of them ins

Eds is this a realistic scenario? {Ed001's Note - depends on what you call realistic, it won't happen that's for sure.}

We have more chance of these ins than llorente or cavani

Realistic! I dont think you got the ins correctly (3 out of 6), but money- and player-vise its possible. I belive the 6 outs will leave, and you can add Aurelio (free) and maybe one more....

Ramirez 15 mil
Munian or susaeta
Unsure but a top striker sell carrol if need cash but would prefer to keep

I woluld love Belhanda, dont think it will happen tough. And I cant see us buying 2 striker. I think Carroll will stay, and hopefully de Jong will come in. Suarez, Carroll and Luuk de Jong. That will work;) Also hope Aquilani will stay.

02 May 2012 18:16:47
Ed do you think Luciano Spalletti might be an option if kenny goes? {Ed002's Note - I would have thought not given he has signed an extension to his contract recently.}

02 May 2012 18:15:29
Ed is there a chance of lavezzi coming in the summer? {Ed002's Note - Sorry. There is interest in Levezzi from several clubs including Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus, Zenit, PSG and particularly Inter and AC Milan. I think it would take a very high offer - more than 30M euros, some trading or a third-party ownership deal bid to get Napoli to sell the player who is unwilling to extend his existing contract which runs to 2015. Inter have offered 15M euro plus Faraoni, Pandev and Obi but that offer is not acceptable to Napoli.}

02 May 2012 17:47:59
Any chance of Nigel De Jong signing for Liverpool this Summer Ed's?

I heard a commentator during the Mank derby say that De Jong is getting restless about being a bench player for City. {Ed002's Note - They are looking to replace De Jong but I don't know of any interest from Liverpool and I am sure wages would be a major stumbling block even if there was interest.}

02 May 2012 17:40:24
Ed think Luke de Jong comin Liverpool lookin on players profiles an is saying he is playing for Liverpool next season {Ed002's Note - There is certainly interest.}

Yeah i was reading his wiki earlier today and it said fc twente liverpool fc and then said he agreed an undisclosed fee with liverpool and would join in the summer but i went on it just now and there nout

02 May 2012 17:32:05
Hi Eds, is there any news about Vertonghen situation? I know Arsenal are interested, but we were too last winter ... so is there any clue about his futur club? {Ed002's Note - I very much expect Vertonghen will move to Arsenal in the summer.}

02 May 2012 17:15:31
Thanks for the good work.

I just wondered if you knew the situation with Eriksen at Ajax. Months ago he was touted in almost every paper in every country as being THE hot prospect yet a)he's barely being mentioned recently and b) the bigger clubs seem to be looking elsewhere for players in his position (Chelsea/Marin, ManU/Kagawa, City/Hazard).

Not that i expect him to join us (unfortunately) but:

1. is there a possibility (of Eriksen joining us)?
2. Are we even looking at him given our spending power, lack of cl qualification and 'low' salary prospects whem compared with the more financially backed clubs?
3. Do you think he'd be one of the myriad of players hankering to only join Real or Barca, bearing in mind who he'd be in competition with for a place? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and AC Milan have shown an interest in Eriksen. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club. The Milan Press Office are convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expect a bid to be made by for Eriksen who remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for two more years before moving to Spain. Expect AC Milan and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United.}

02 May 2012 16:23:59
How about Rickie Lambert?
Quality , get him now before he starts scoring in the prem and he turns into another 20mill+ player...because he is english

FowlerisGod

He's 30

Southampton looked shocking up top against coventry, ok, they scored 4 but coventry played their youth team, lambert was awful

He was released by lfc as a teen family from kirkby he wont be wanted

Rickie Lambert celebrate!

PDUK

I had the privilege of watching Lambert a few weeks every year when he was at Bristol Rovers. He's a good striker and header of the ball but not quick or skilful. He's like Carroll but older and not as good.

TSP

I live in stockport and he played for county for a while top class player (at theat level) not for LFC

02 May 2012 15:35:18
Eds, have Liverpool any interest in James McLean of Sunderland or James McCarthy of Wigan?
Cheers
Red4Life. {Ed002's Note - I don't know. In the past Wigan's valuation of McCarthy have puts clubs off.}

What is the valuation of McCarthy? he is a good player already and continues to get better

02 May 2012 15:43:48
A recent article stated that AZ Alkmaar are trying to keep Rasmus Elm put and will be attempting a negotiation of a new contract to extend his stay. Do the Edd's have any news on this will he be staying at AZ after all? {Ed002's Note - I would doubt that anything will be decided until the summer, at least not until the Euros are over.}

02 May 2012 15:10:55
Eds do u think we have a chance of getting suseata I knw we are scouting him and munian {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris St Germain are interested in Athletic Bilbao's Markel Susaeta. I remain unconvinced of Muniain as an option right now.}

02 May 2012 14:57:46
Ins:
-Rasmus Elm
-Luuk de Jong
-Merkel Susaeta
-Yann M'Villa
-Younes Belhanda (gotta love this lad, crazy skill, lots of creativity shown, + KD was on one League1 match of Montpellier, so is very likely to happen)
-and another high quality striker
-new RB (Idk who, but if johnson goes we'd really need sb good there)

Outs:
-Charlie Adam (just not good enough, sorry)
-Dirk Kuyt (time to go ;D)
-Maxi Rodrigez (I personnaly do not like him (has no craetivity, only scores on empty net))
-Andy Carroll (I've just lost my patience with this lad, enough is enough)
-Glen Johnson (unfortunatly)
-Jay Spearing (I realise he is made in our own school, but I cannot see him as high quality player to be)

Loan:
-Shelvy, -Stearling, -Suso, -Coady (this guys just need more opertunity to prove themselves)

That would be what would I do, but I realise some of it ain't gonna happen, just ones fans hopes, nothing else :DD

How have you lost your patience with Carroll? He's been brilliant recently. Deal with it.

I'm glad you're not our manager.

Yeah alright youve played fifa too much mate

-Charlie Adam (Very disappointing, agree)
-Dirk Kuyt (Also agree)
-Maxi Rodrigez (I think Maxi is a very useful squad player - if he is happy to remain just that)
-Andy Carroll (The lad is going to be great next season. You wait and see.)
-Glen Johnson (If he goes it will be for money/champs league, but if someone wants to leave then they should not be playing for the 'Pool)
-Jay Spearing (Agree with this one too. It is very easy to big him up because he's home bred, but let's be honest - he's very average and not even 'squad player' material if we want to be improving)

Maxi scores into an empty because he is creative and tactically aware enough to make the space for a tap in.

This guy is a hater, i agree with spearing, kuyt and charlie adam but maxi has scored many vital goals, andy carroll has tried hard and when alongside suarez they link up good

Spearing is young, lives for Liverpool and plays his heart out on the pitch. If that's not enough for you then i don't know what is.

Im glad you put that last sentence in, otherwise I was going to ask you what drugs you were on when you wrote that!

Charlie Adam not good enough? He's a quality player who can take a game by the scruff of the neck but at Liverpool always has to pass to Gerrard!! If that wasn't the case he'd have proved himself! Plus look at the facts......Look what has happened since he got injured!! 2 up against QPR lost 3-2.....then the run continued! He needs a chance to boss the midfield alongside Lucas

Be quiet Spearing is a good play for his age and will only get better with time and age

Sterling and Shrlvey must stay

Always has to pass to Gerrard? Is that in his contract?
Come on man get a brain.

Adam is rubbish,he always tries the hollywood pass rather than play it simple,his free kicks and corners have been useless.
get rid and get a better player in

Hi ed's

do we or should i say have we shown any interest in the following players?

Bas Dost: 30 goals this season
Olivier Giroud: 21 goals this season

they have been prolific this season for their respective clubs and i dont think they would cost too much either.

cheers ed's and keep up the good work. {Ed002's Note - Bas Dost is of interest to Valencia, Bayern Munich and Aston Villa. There is unconfirmed interest from Inter and Spurs. It was expected that Giroud would stay within France with a move to PSG but performances this season have seen Lyon, Marseille, Valencia, Newcastle, Villarreal, Arsenal and particularly Malaga show an interest. At one point Nicollin discussed the interest in the player saying Newcastle were too minor a club and Arsenal would have to pay 50M euros, if not 60M euros for the player. The reality is that he will move for perhaps 20M euros or so in the summer as it will be tough for Montpellier to persuade him to stay. Interest at the moment is still being shown by Arsenal and probably Liverpool and Bayern Munich have made an approach to Montpellier. The player declared an interest in a move to Italy but much will depend on the price - I don't see Marseille being able to pay enough, nor perhaps Lyon. It is possible that Liverpool may become interested.}

I hope we at least try to get Bas Dost...I read somewhere he would cost 5-7m but I'm sure it would be double that

After I heard that Dost had scored 5 goals in a game, I made the suggestion on this site, that perhaps LFC could keep on eye him, much to the derison of op on this website, and now half of Europe wnat to sign him. His fee seems a bit steeper than I expected.
Didn't Ruud van Nistelrooy came from the same club? and he did all right :)

Arsenal and Chelsea are already buying players for the upcoming season, notably Podolski and Marin, and Hazard attended the City-United Derby this week.
Clear indicators that a lot of the big players are already looking at the season ahead and trying to get their transfers secured now.
just wondering Eds, are Liverpool also active at present or are we just scouting and reviewing whilst waiting for the new DOF/manager to chose our final targets?
Chelsea have bought Marin without the final choice of next years manager being decided, but then again Abramovich has always had a strong say on the transfers rather than the manager.

Personally, Kudos to the Newcastle scouting department, shows that just because the "Marquee" signings are not forthcoming doesn't detract from the potential ability of the squad.

I would be happier if i had trust in our scouting team, rather than paying extortionate fees for average squad players, and any news on this department would make me happier than knowing which players we are considering.

I think everyone knows where we are lacking, and i think the majority of opinions on the site are looking at the right calibre of players. As much as i would Love a spending spree on Cavani/Hazard/Lavezzi/Ganso etc. i think deep down i would prefer building a team properly, buying one or two excellent young players such as Sissoko/M'vila and De Jong/Muniain and incorporate a lot of the youth team.
The future of our defence looks in safe hands, with Robinson, Kelly, Wilson, Coates coming through, so i think we need to appreciate this IS a rebuild, and long term investment will overcome the short team improvements having a player like Robben for 3years will provide. Think BIGGER guys...

so really Eds, and news on a guy with a Vision coming in? That's why we all respect people like Guardiola so much,

Thanks

Steve GW

{Ed002's Note - All clubs are continuing their efforts during the closed transfer window and plenty of transfers have been agreed for when the window opens. Marin, Shaqiri, Podolski, Reus and the list goes on. However, some clubs are not keen to have players disrupted whilst there are games to play and therefore will not discuss transfers. In regards to Marin, Chelsea were effectively forced in to an early move by an offer being submitted by Roma and an enquiry made by Spurs - but you are wrong if you really believe that Mr Abramovich is deciding on the players to buy. He will often have an opinion but that is generally it - he won't force the situation (although I accept there have been a couple of exceptions). Liverpool will certainly be continuing to look at players and make enquiries, but there is no way to really predict when deals will come to fruition.}

Hi Eds, Macca,

Any chance of any of the following:

Siggurdson (Hoffenheim/Swansea)
Faurlin (QPR)
MVlia (Rennes)
Yoan Sommer (Basel)
Xhaka (Basel)
Mertens (PSV)
Strootman (PSV)

Also, has there been any advancements on:

Jackson Martinez.

I think he would be a superb addition. {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of the Martinez situation. Certainly some of the list are possible (e.g. Strootman) if the club are interested but some sadly are not (Xhaka, Mertens etc..).}

Why's mertens not possible ed? was kind of hoping we were secretly following this guy as i haven't heard him linked with many other teams....
has someone stolen a march on us?

x {Ed002's Note - I am not sure how you could be shocked by another club stealing a march on a player Liverpool have not shown an interest in. I don't see Mertens moving to Liverpool - if he moves I suspect it may well be to Bayern Munich who have shown an interest in him and other wide players.}

Why not Xhaka? {Ed002's Note - Granit Xhaka has attracted interest from Juventus, Manchester United, Hamburg, Lazio, Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray with CSKA seeming to be still pushing very hard for a deal. However, Moenchengladbach are leading the chase right now and it looks very likely that a deal will be done for perhaps a little over 7M euros.}

02 May 2012 14:20:14
Summer targets (in my opinion) should be:
centre forward: Luuk de Jong (21years old) max £15m or Bas Dost(22) max £15m
winger: Junior Hoillet(21) free or Younes Belhanda(21) max £15m
cm: Kevin Strootman(21) max £10m or Granit Xhaka(19) max £8m
cam: Shinji Kagawa(22) max £15m.
What do you think?
Braila {Ed002's Note - Most do look like they will be moving club over the summer and aside from Xhaka who is moving elsewhere and Kagawa who has set a high target for himself, all are possibilities.}

Just out of interest were is xhaka moving to ed?

KopEndDannyLFC {Ed002's Note - Moenchengladbach are leading the chase right now and it looks very likely that a deal will be done for perhaps a little over 7M euros.}

02 May 2012 14:22:12
Any news on Elm Ed's? Think that for 8m, he's a really good signing who can develop and become one of the best allround-midfilders in the Premier Leauge. I mean, he's got quality set-pieces, got skills, can pass the ball anywhere and has a high-work rate and attitude. Plus, he's a long-thrower like Delap, hehe.

Great site /The Swede {Ed002's Note - Juventus, Spurs, Manchester United, Lazio, Roma and Liverpool have shown interest in Rasmus Elm but there has been no bid, no discussions about price and certainly no agreement over a move - regardless of what people have said on Twitter.}

Is this regardless of what Ed005 also said the other day:

{Ed005's Note - To ensure that ALL questions regarding Elm stop as we are getting so many - according to what another ed tells me a fee may have been agreed for Elm but as of yet no personal terms have been agreed. When, is not known, however we are in a very good position to sign the player. So no need to now post persistent questions regarding Elm.}

{Ed002's Note - The point being what - I don't see how the two differ. It did not say that a fee had been agreed - it said it "may" have been agreed. But it hasn't.}

Ed I thought that ed022 said that we had agreed a fee for elm?

{Ed002's Note - No fee has been agreed.}

One of your eds said a fee had been agreed... {Ed002's Note - So?}

02 May 2012 14:21:26
Hello Ed002,
is there any interest in Agger and Skrtel and is it possible that any of them leaves after this season? thanks {Ed002's Note - We don't know of interest in either right now although Agger attracted the attention of a couple of German clubs last season. I doubt either will leave this summer.}

02 May 2012 14:16:14
Apparently we have serious interest in Napoli's Hamsik... However Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also interested {Ed002's Note - I doubt it given a new deal has been signed at Napoli.}

What but if Suarez signs a new deal at Liverpool he will still leave? Just the same isnt it? {Ed002's Note - I really don't understand your point. Suarez has not signed a new deal at Liverpool - or am I missing what you are saying.}

edd who do reckon we will buy in the summer i really wont a big player to come in not ones for the future we need to concentrate on that in the next 2 years

many thanks {Ed002's Note - I would expect that a wide right player, a striker and yet another midfield player will top the list. Perhaps a new goalkeeper although perhaps Gulacsi will get a chance. Much will also depend on who leaves. I stand by my original thought that there is a good chance of Luuk De Jong joining up. Plenty of others are in the pot for discussion and you can find out more by glancing through the posts.}

Agreed a winger,a striker & a good midfielder would top the list ,but again considering we would be playing in the europa league we need a far more stronger squad to cope with so many matches and fatigue , unavailability etc..
+ like last summer a lot of players would be shipped out as well..
so apart from that i would think another 2-3 players maybe a versatile playmaker/frontman ,a first choice wingback also will be bought..
lastly, ed how to do u rate Alex Smithies as a goalkeeper? {Ed002's Note - I have no real interest in rating players and I know little of Smithies. Perhaps you should ask of him on the Huddersfield page.}

I was at Anfield last night and it really was the hardest game I have had to watch in a long time. Without Gerrard & Suarez we lack any creativity whatsoever.

We need genuine quality out wide, Sterling showed that in abundance, but he's not quite ready for week in week out PL football. Susaeta maybe?

Also Andy Carroll's footwork is not good enough to be leading the line for Liverpool.

I know he's been mentioned ALOT but Luuk De Jong would be a great buy. I have seen him quite abit this season in the Europa League and Eredivisie. He's solid in the air, has great feet and can score goals.

Any chance of these please say if u think we can get these
Ozil-18-20mil
Kaka-18-20mil
Ganso-15 mil
Tello-5-9mil
Adam Johnson-17mil
Schurrle-16mil
Gotez-25mil
Muller&kroos-35mil
Remy-20mil
Eriksen-18mil
Jay Rodriguez (porto)19mil
Diego-14mil
Adrian-mil
Last of all go for neymar30-40mil

{Ed002's Note - No, probably not. If you use the search function you will see each will have been discussed, but I doubt that Kaka, Goetze, Neymar, Ganso etc. will be moving to LIverpool this summer.}

I hope that Kaka won't come, he's too slow for EPL. And way too expensive!

Doubt if any would want to move to anfield! they say theres a time for everything! so nows the time to stop the silly rumours!

Is'nt Diego on a free? I would love to see him at Liverpool. He is quality watched him a lot this year and he knows how to create something from nothing.

WB

15 players? You can forget all about 14 of them. Small chance of a lazy Adam Johnson joining, but nobody will pay 17 mill for him. Maybe half that price.

Muller & Kroos together ..
what are they a combined package now?
eh, might not be a bad idea for them after all, to play in the europa league after playing the champions league final twice in 3 years..

Stop playing FIFA, i doubt any of these players would ever consider signing for us

I think they will all come, as we have great history.

Hi Eds & Co.

Any idea what the situation with Cristian Pasquato is?

From what I can gather he's been farmed out to about 6 different clubs on loan over the past few years (from Juventus)

Not expecting to see him in a Liverpool shirt but just wondering if anyone knew what the situation is with him? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any "situation" with Pasquato per se. As you say he has gone out on a series of loans - not an uncommon thing.}

02 May 2012 12:58:46
Any interest in Nuri sahin eds? Would be a great buy in imo. Seems surplus to real Madrid.
Cheers {Ed002's Note - Not right now. Sahin has had injury problems this year but rumours do persist about his long term future. If he were to leave I would very much suspect a move to Italy (possibly with Juventus) or a return to Germany would come before any thoughts of a move to England. Malaga also spoke to Madrid about the possibility of a loan and Galatasaray would like to take him to Turkey.}

Great job mate, thanks for putting info on here! heard mclean of sunderland is a target!

02 May 2012 12:28:55
Just a quick thought, but am I right in saying we didn't have a striker on the bench was just filled with defenders, what is Kenny doing.. It showed he agreed key players should be rested but how are you going to win a game when you only have 1 striker on both the pitch and the bench! Fair play to fulham they were pretty solid in defence most of the time, brede is a very good player shame he is the wrong side of 30.

Kind regards

The southern red

Well we only have 4 strikers and thats counting Bellamy & Kuyt. Bellamy was never gonna be on the bench & Suarez was rested

Kuyts a striker isn't he?

When did sterling become a defender?

Bench last night: jones carragher flanno, robinson enrique sterling downing - clearly four defenders and no strikers.

Hope to see Adam Johnson and dzeko at Liverpool in the summer brilliant players who just don't get a chance at man city. Any chance ed's? {Ed002's Note - I doubt there is much chance.}

Johnson yes Dzeko NO

Arsenal fan here,

The player you guys should get is Seydou Doumbia.
Prolific goalscorer and knows how to put away chances, i'd love him at Arsenal but Liverpool would be a great club for him.
I mean if you can spend 35 odd mil on Carrol then 20-30 on a player of Doumbia's quality should be okay.

Thanks for reading,

Nick.

Transfer budget too small mate

Heard a whisper Big Andy is on his to Arsenal in the summer: To replace RVP so good luck next season your gonna need it.

The player we should of signed was Podolski for £10 million!

Nick, with this simple post youve allready achived more than liverpools entire scouting department.

I would be pleased indeed if we were to sign Doumbia. I think it unlikely to say the least, however.

-Seeing Red- {Ed002's Note - There was an enquiry from Newcastle and a failed offer from Lazio in January for Doumbia. Other clubs have had scouts at games but that is some way from making any serious enquiries for the player. Doumbia does a good job of talking himself up and CSKA will likely want £25M or so for the player as there is no pressure to sell. Roma are interested in the player but have yet to make any financial proposal and rumours persist of interest from Chelsea and Spurs.}

To the guy who said that Carrol is coming to Arsenal...please don't even joke about that.

Transfer budget too small? That hasn't stopped you before, don't get me started on last season.

Doumbia is a good player, a great goalscorer and something you guys need.
I mean Suarez is gun but aside from the hat-trick the other day, he doesn't put away the chances he makes.
If he put away half the chances he missed he'd be in the top 3 goalscorers this season.

Nick.

How many times have you copied and pasted that ed002? I feel like ive read that like 100times lol {Ed002's Note - Actually you have never read it before - it has just changed after a little bit of information was clarified for me. A good reason for you to always re-read the standard texts as they can change regularly - even without me noticing.}

Hey Eds first time posting so let me start by saying great site love reading all the rumours.

Now my question is has liverpool or any other team shown any interest in Jano Ananidze or Insigne from Napoli.

These two are going to be big players in the future. Insigne is a top young winger plays on the left but could also do a job on the right. great ball control and a fantastic shot. Jano Ananidze is very much like Luka Modric just a lot younger and has way more potential.

Lastly I know its hard to say but would you now who Liverpool are really looking to sign and most likely. Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Ananidze has attracted interest from Chelsea, Barcelona and Arsenal. We have nothing useful inrespect of Insigne save from him being out on loan right now.}

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that striker Lucas Barrios will leave the Bundesliga champions this summer for a move to Chinese club Guangzhao Evergrande.

The Paraguay international has signed a four-year contract with the Super League club and will move for a fee of £9.7 million.

It has been reported in Germany that the 27-year-old will earn around £5.5m a year for the duration of his contract.

Barrios said in a club statement: "I want to thank the many fans of Borussia Dortmund for their great support over the past three years. I will never forget my time here.

1 more target off to some other club.

AJI {Ed002's Note - You may have seen Barrios as a target but you were told (around March 23) that Guangzhou would be putting a deal together for him. It has taken longer than expected but it should not be a surprise to you.}

He was a one season wonder though. So why do you care?? He had one good season and thats it!
KiwiRed

Barrios wouldn't have been a good signing anyway, we should be setting our standards much higher than him.

DP

Not a surprise ed , but we could have at least tried at that price . I mean 9.7 mill is not that much compared to our last season summer signings. Wages could have been a problem but that could have been looked at. He was linked with us , that means we were watching him or considering him , so could have at least gone with that interest a little further. Don't know what will happen or don't know who will come and what price we pay for them . By the way heard Jean Crisp, the head of customer experience and Stephen Turner, the head of international soccer schools have been axed. Can you shed light on that ED?

AJI
{Ed002's Note - Liverpool cannot simply bid ad hoc for players - it really doesn't happen that way. I understand that the re-alignment of some of the Liverpool workforce is indeed continuing.}

Being an ignorant Englishman, other then the 22million salary, why would you leave Elite level european football at 27 years of age? If money is purely motivation for the move then we haven't missed out on a target we have missed a bullet.

EDs does that open the door for dortmund to look at de jong {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Dortmund in De Jong.}

02 May 2012 11:32:45
Liverpool to try and sign two real madrid players. Lass Diarra and Sahin. Daglish putting together a 18m-22m package for both. A right winger and a CF are also high on the list. Adam Johnson of city being the main target, especially if City land hazard. expect a 10m-15m bid to be made. A number of CF targets have been identitfied. these being de jong, defoe, barrios and others. the favoured one being de jong. this is all the info i have at the moment.

I mean no offence, but I would take a long look at the source of this information. It seems very unlikely we would sign even one of Sahin or Lassana Diarra, let alone both. Also, Lucas Barrios has agreed to move to a chinese side.

Just had ian cotton in my taxi tool him to melwood was talking didn't say much but what he did say is expect to see the redmen in there new kit on saturday he said been talked about a lot but they have come to an agreement with adidas just thought I'd share it with you

Yellow 1

Really? Just doesn't seem plausible. Considering it's a final like.... next tuesday in the league game would seem likely..

Agreement with Warrior dont begin till 1st june/july i believe.
PIDDY

Considering we are contracted to Adidas until end of may, doubt they're going to miss out on a show peace final by letting us play in a warrior shirt.

That's what he told me they came to some agreement with adidas am not ian cotton so I can't answer your questions as am only a taxi driver maybe you should email him an ask him

Love to know why people press the unbelivable button on here not asif he said I had john henry an his horse in his taxi grow up people I hope we do wear our new strip on saturday give everyone a lift

Think this may be related to the new formal wear agreemtny with RAMSEY a turkish suit company, these will be the suits that the team will be wearing on the day of the final and also for the next 2 years

Dore89

The club are selling FA Cup Final Adidas shirts with all the badges & stitching on (probably to shift old stock) so can't really see it. Would Adidas really take a chance on their replacement kit maker getting one over on them, especially as it wouldn't matter to them who won, as both teams are Adidas

He said "agreement" which means LFC could have made a payment to Adidas to enable this.

any chance of clint dempsey, think he will bring a good partnership with the strikers and fit in well? many thanks {Ed002's Note - I doubt it. Should Dempsey come up for sale there will certainly be interest from Everton, Spurs and a couple of German sides, plus possibly Arsenal.}

No. fulham are a better team than us as they proved last night.

02 May 2012 10:54:15
Good day Ed's , there was an report nearly a month ago saying we were in talks with juan manuel vargas . my question is what has happen . was it true that we were in talks with them or was it all b****cks?

thanks {Ed002's Note - Juan Manuel Vargas is different from the traditional left sided players being as he is a proper wing wing back with a very good goalscoring record - although many come from free kicks. Fiorentina accept he will leave. Liverpool, Inter Milan, Napoli, Roma, Arsenal, Manchester City, Benfica, Bayern Munich and Zenit St Petersburg have shown an interest in the past but at 28 and with a now well documented weight issue, he may not be the easiest to sell. Bayern Munich maintain an interest and I would not be surprised if there is interest from Turkey and Russia. Perhaps what you read was an old story being recycled.}

02 May 2012 10:40:18
Younes belhandra is this lad the real deal Eds have you seen anything of him. I am not implying that we will sign him he will probably go to to arsenal but what could he add, if we went for him and suceeded

Scouse Ben {Ed002's Note - There is interest from confirmed interest in Belhanda from Bayern Munich, Arsenal and PSG and there is unconfirmed interest from Liverpool, Inter and Roma. The player wishes a move to Germany with Bayern Munich or Dortmund or to play for PSG if Germany is not possible.}

Just herd from a very good source the Liverpool will be biding this summer for arign Robbin (sorry for spelling) the sorce in my very good frend and ex Wrexham collige steve cooper and also said we will be looking to sign a nother big name Spanish singing

BIG JEFF

Arjen Robben ? No way. To old for LFC policy.

Rooben is getting on a bit but he still far superior to any one we signed in the summer

And he is earning twice as mutch as Steven Gerrard! We can not compete with that kind of money.

Well who can Cope wid that amount of money who'll Will ackshily want him

02 May 2012 10:26:09
is there any chance in signing theo walcott this summer? many thanks ed {Ed002's Note - I doubt it.}

02 May 2012 10:14:25
Hey eds! I've heard rumours that Adam Johnson has been to Melwood recently and that a transfer is close! Do you know if there is any truth in the rumour? Cheers scouserseb! {Ed002's Note - I doubt it.}

02 May 2012 09:53:31
Seing interest in arjen robben has excited me as if we make one big name signing, this will attract more bigger names. I think that robben would be a class signing but we need a deadly striker with a good head to sign aswell. Perfect targets Cavani (dreaming a bit) luuk de jong a more realstic option. A cm is also a crucial signing who scores goals and has some spark.
CS {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath over Arjen Robben moving to Liverpool - sorry.}

Yeah he's going to leave a CL side to join a club that loses to Wigan, Fulham and West Brom at home...

My father is an worker in rennes and he said that lfc are in talks our rennes for Mvilla because they see him as the pefect partner for Lucas

Isn't Lucas Married?

02 May 2012 06:49:45
Hi ed,

Is there any interest in robben from us? Those rumour are resurfacing again.

Thanks

Nevada {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware at this time. UNtil last week, if he left it was thought Italy might be his destination.}

I understand hes a spurs fan as a boy, like cruyff, bergkamp & davids were! just wondering that he might end up their if they lose bale?

What happened last week? {Ed002's Note - There was a falling out with Ribery.}

A scouser asking if there is any interest in 'robben' from us?

oh the irony

02 May 2012 01:04:30
Seydou Keita 32 Barca
Position: Midfield - Central Midfield
Foot: left
Value £2m to £7m
Contract Exp: 30.06.2014

Liverpool target Seydou Keita, 32, could join the"Liverpool after being frozen out at Barca.

operates in center midfield on the left. defensive midfielder in nature.

Also can play in a number of other positions including Left defender,Defensive midfielder, Left midfielder, Centre Midfield

Seems like a ok player: but it would depend on Seydou Keita wanting to play for liverpool in the EPL, accepting lower wages, potential fitness/injury concerns with knee

If his preferred position is in the middle I am sure LFC will sign him and play him out wide. (Babel, Kuyt, Henderson, Benayoun, Cole, Bellamy).

Husni

Its not FSG policy to buy old players

Its not fsg policy to buy good players either

Lazy rumour. He's too old. Next!......

Likely going to Milan as part of a deal involving Thiago Silva going the other way.

We won't sign an old man like Keita. We should go for Essien.

How is he frozen out? He just scored for them 2 days ago.

eds how much truth is there in the rasmus elm rumour and if hedoes come do you reckon he will replace adam {Ed005's Note - Our opinions etc. are further down the page, and in the other rumours section. Plenty to read I'm sure you'll find a sufficient answer.}

Bayern Munich ace Arjen Robben is set to snub a new contract at the German snub, opening the door for a second stint in the Premier League.

The flying Dutch winger was linked with a number of top flight English clubs, including Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham, before it became clear he was close to extending his stay in Germany.

However, talks broke down after Robben took exception to Bayern's handling of his half-time argument with teammate Franck Ribery during their Champions League first-leg victory over Real Madrid.

According to talkSPORT, Robben will turn down Bayern's offer because he is unhappy at the German club's failure to back him over the incident with his French colleague.

Robben and his agent, who is also his father, are set to reject Bayern's advances now and could instead explore options elsewhere. The Dutchman enjoyed a successful spell at Stamford Bridge earlier in his career and could opt for a second spell in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old former Chelsea winger had been on the verge of signing an extension until 2015 as his current deal expires in June 2013. As a result, Bayern may chose to sell the winger this summer to avoid him leaving on a free a year later. Should that be the case Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham would most likely renew their interest.

Bayern's president Uli Hoeness confirmed contract talks had stalled.

SR YNWA

Not gonna happen..

A man with his ego won't choose a club without champions league & mega wage.

He's paid more than gerrad and Hendo combined.
AnfieldUSA

Not to be forgiven for the cowardly dive after Reina 'touched' him. Horrible little man!

The same kind of dives suarez does or even gerrard! any one remember the pen he got when he went to ground cause he thought he was going to be felled? the ref gave a pen! sure it was on motd? so really the last poster is really calling his own players cowardly horrible little men if he lives by his own rules?

Er, only if you are comparing Robben's behaviour after the final whistle as he was screaming at the ref to try and get a fellow professional sent off and when Reina tried to stop him getting involved with something that had nothing to do with him, he collapsed on the floor holding his throat - with a tackle/penalty situation. No link whatsoever - but still a horrible little man!
