David Villa landed at Manchester airport today about half past 7 and was taken through the special VIP arrivals lounge. He was met by Ian Ayre and another man I did not recognise and they all left in a Audi A6. Another major star on loan?

Had it on good authority that Dempsey was at Countess of Chester Hosptial for medical this afternoon. He was definately in ECG department.
Aren't all the Liverpool Medicals handled at our own facilities? Hence all the pics on our website everytime we sign someone showing medical pictures in our own facilities! I think this may be a porky pie!

regarding to AC a season long loan move to west ham..FSG,had agreed with BR earlier,if AC were loaned out with an option to buy at the end of the season,they will release money to funding a move for AC replacement..Dempsey will be sign and another striker as a AC replacement..

Warrior kit deal and SKY tv cash cover Allen and Borini. AC loan cash £1.5 cover this German/Turkish 18yr old.
League placing prize money (yeah even 8th is a good few million) paid Kenny and Clarkes contract out
Cup run and cup prize money paid for BR and back room.
FSG have not spent a penny/cent. They even bought our club on the cheap, RSB force sale.
FSG will not spend a penny, we are self funding.

I'm not convinced Rodgers would have let Carroll go without having a replacement lined up.
If it's Sturridge then i'm disappointed, as he's weak, his step over is obvious and telegraphed all to often, his attitude is poor and he's selfish. Not to mention Chelsea's price tag will likely be high, only for them to go and buy Hulk or Falcao or someone with genuine class and will make the difference.

Ive heard that the owners have agreed to release funds for a striker to replace Carroll if he goes on loan on the proviso that there is a set fee agreed at the end of the loan. It really is the only way that loaning Carroll makes sense. We will buy a replacement.

Don't think so mate. I think we are simply working on a small budget. Got Carroll off wage bill, but that doesn't free up money for transfers.
We're holding out to get Clint Dempsey for less than 8M, just from what we hear in the press.
Carroll goes to WH and the "word" is 1.5 up front plus full wages. Carrolls on 80,000 a week (rough math 1.5 + 4 = 5.5 mil). As eds showed us with the Sahin deal there's usually much more to a load deal as well.
Now I'm not a great Dempsey fan but looks like we got him roughly for 2/3M (including wages for 2 years) and we keep Carroll to sell if he distingiushes himself at WHU.
It's not my first choice as a fan but as one of the top 20 earning clubs in europe is it a disaster?

If carroll goes on a loan it is a good decision. Currently his value is 12-13 mill. West ham plays a style under big sam that will suit carroll. This will then increase his value if hi is a sucsess... 20 mill price next summer.... Great business.

Now with AC going on loan only, does this now mean nothing coming in? Looking at Jan window and this summers, FSG have not spent money, seems all so far covered by PL money, SKY TV money, Warrior and Standard Chartered money, plus offloading Aqua, Maxi and Kuyt.

Latest I'm hearing: Adam has the choice of two clubs at the moment, Stoke have made an offer which is common knowledge, but Everton are also keeping tabs, Adam would prefer to stay in Merseyside. Dempsey could be at the game tonight, and will sign tomorrow, I'm 100% on this. Again I reiterate that you should ignore what is being said by Pardew, Carroll could very well not even be in the stands tonight as Newcastle will weigh in with another bid tomorrow. If he goes we will bid for Walcott. Sorry to say but Llorente and Huntelaar are not current targets...at least that's the way it seems today. But if Carroll stays it will be Adam out, Dempsey in, business done.

Personally, I would like the sale of Carroll to be in winter window instead. Then we can hold Newcastle at a ransom (Ba and Cisse at Africa's Cup of Nation). That, or we can see Newcastle playing 4-6-0, like Spain did in the Euros.

Llorente is not coming to liverpool if carroll goes. he is the same type of player as carroll. tall, good in the air. holds the ball up well. but not pacey or fast with the ball. also rodgers does rate carroll. but as said before he`s not the type of player to fit into the way he wants to play.
I'd love us to sign him, but I doubt we will. It's the perfect time to go for him, when he's looking for the move and his contract so low but I still doubt we will bid.

Why do you think BR wanted to flog Carroll & Agger? He needed to free up some funds for his transfers. The club were expecting to use the proceeds of a Suarez sale to fund this summer's transfers, but BR begged the board to keep Suarez on so money had to be freed up from elsewhere. Adam & Carroll are playing hardball and sitting on their fat salaries that was handed to them by Kenny. Unless Carroll gets his move to Newcastle he will not be going anywhere and that means there will be no more incomings for Liverpool. I heard Newcastle have only offered £10m upfront for AC. AC and Newcastle have Liverpool by the balls. There's no point selling Downing as the club still owe Aston Villa most of his fee. Adam & Spearing will only raise a few million. Liverpool fans will not like to hear this, but Kenny has put you back a couple years with his poor spending.

Bit of news from my source but not exactly ground breaking... it'll be one forward only. We wont be signing the likes of Llorente AND Dempsey. It'll be one or the other, and it is dependent on Carroll leaving, which isn't looking any more likely than it did yesterday, at present.
So there you have it, not saying we won't be signing Llorente or another big name, but we won't be getting any others if Dempsey comes first, not in the forwards position anyway. We are still interested in a LB but not heard anything with regards to targets.

My gut instinct is Carroll will go and a bigger name will come in, I'd imagine we are steering wide of Dempsey to avoid any tapping up complaints actually materialising into a punishment. I also wouldn't be surprised if a loan offer comes in for Henderson... whether we'd let him go or not is a different story though now Lucas is out.

Obvious really, the players going out (Adam/Spearing) will fund Dempsey, and West Ham cant afford AC and i dont think Newcastle will come back in for him, he looks set for a season on the bench. Liverpool wont do much business apart from Dempsey, likely to be nobody else coming in apart from him.
Dempsey scored 23 goals for Fulham last season, he's been a consistent performer in the Premier League.
He's also scored lots of international goals (27 goals in 86 games for USA), more than Messi, Lampard or Gerrard have scored for their countries just as an example and Against the likes of Spain, Italy, 2 against England and 2 against Brazil.
So it could be easily argued that many people do consider Clint Dempsey to be a ''marquee player''. It's a very subjective term, so it would depend on the individual judging the signing, of course.

Fulham have been quoted a price of £5m to sign Berbatov who is apparently keen to link up with Martin Jol again. Fulham need to sell before they buy so are willing to cut their loses on Dempsey and allow him to leave for a much lower fee than the £9m they previously quoted Liverpool. They know Liverpool want him and their original price tag put Liverpool off. A fee of closer to the £6m mark would now be accepted. I for one am disgusted by the treatment that has been handed out to Charlie Adam by some sections of the Liverpool support. The guy has been made into a scapegoat and seems to be shouldering a lot of the blame for last seasons utterly miserable TEAM performance. Ok, Charlie didn't do very well, but neither did so many others, many of whom cost a hell of a lot more than he did. I feel sorry for Charlie, I really do, and I hope he does well at Stoke or wherever he ends up and proves to us all what a good player he really is.

Don't get me wrong Llorente is a quality player and would be a massive coup for Liverpool, but if BR is telling the truth about why he wants to sell Carroll, then buying Llorente makes little sense. He is far more technical than Carroll agreed, but he doesn't fit Spain's style of play and that is what BR is trying to replicate. I wouldn't hold your breath over Llorente. Dempsey & a right winger is what Liverpool will go for, perhaps only Dempsey if Sinclair & Walcott are unavailable. Liverpool need to hurry up and get Spearing & Adam out of the door or Dempsey may not even be achievable. Carroll & Adam playing hardball is restricting your cash-flow and time is running out.

I think BR messed up earlier in the transfer window when Newcastle and Westham made offers for Carrol, LFC should have ate humble pie and cut their losses with Carrol, if he was allowed to leave then by now Walcott and Demsey would have been featuring in Sundays game against arsenal, but i still trust BR, in BR we trust to clear up the Sh*t that Daglish caused!
