Eds rumours circulating that Hondas deal with Milan has collapsed. Have we lodged any interest with CSKA? {Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of, Everton are still interested though.}

Believable4 Unbelievable18

Surely he wouldn't go to Everton, thought he was looking for a step up and I highly doubt they would be able to pay his CSKA wages

Eds now that its looking like we've shelled out 20m+ on the 2 defenders do u suspect that's most of our budget gone and there will be know one else in the attacking slot considered? Was really hoping for Yarmelenko. {Ed001's Note - there has never been a set budget to be gone.}

Ed001, I was told by a man I hold in high reguard that mata and moses wre available and chelsea approached us and that we had a loan bid for mata rejected. {Ed001's Note - you might well have been told that, but I don't believe it to have any truth in it at all.}

Believable3 Unbelievable32

I'm hoping that the pessimism works on this one as well, ed!

Eds, if we sign Ilori and Sakho, what do you believe will happen to Wisdom? A loan perhaps? {Ed001's Note - he was always intended to be going out on loan this season.}

Believable19 Unbelievable2

Wisdom is highly rated. rodgers want him to play as a centre back for a EPL team. But the only catch is that he then could not be recalled. As soon as the central defender situation is sorted out. tiago and sakho inn. Skertl out. Wisdom on a loan. several clubs are interessted. But Liverpool wants him to play many games. I do belive he would end up in Norwich or Cardiff. fulham has also been mentioned.

Hi Eds, is it correct to say that our only offensive target right now is Victor Moses? {Ed001's Note - no it is not.}

Believable5 Unbelievable19

I doubt Moses is our target. moses is in Prague with Chelsea.

Chelsea aren't due back until Sunday midday from prague so it would seem unlikely.

Hope we look for someone like Knop( whatever the rest of his name is) or Yarmelenko.

Agree1 Disagree1

Shay Given is the other. Using the old BR sarcasm tactic there.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed001, who are the other targets Liverpool are interested in? {Ed001's Note - well I find the thought of Moses joining quite offensive for one! Just kidding, though it does seem he is one, a target I mean. At various times we have looked at Perotti of Sevilla, Stocker of Basel and Ibrahima Traore of Stuttgart. I wouldn't know if any of them will be bid for, or have been, but they have all been checked out and so are possibles.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Target? There are none. Look at the real Liverpool website where people are are getting as disgusted with FSG as I have for a long time. Wake up and smell the failure.

Agree1 Disagree8

Go back to sleep Bart.2 CB's virtually in the bagwhich were much needed ( hope at least one can plat DM as well)
Still time for another forward or attacking MF.

Dear Ed(s) I was wondering if you knew by when a deal has to be completed for the new player to play in the premier league. Is there a set time for the weekend matches or do they just have to be completed before the match starts. Thanks in advance. {Ed001's Note - they had to be registered with the FA before midday today to play at the weekend.}

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Sorry Ed so are you saying that neither Ilori/Sakho could play this weekend even if they were to sign? {Ed001's Note - yes.}

Hi eds

Do we plan to loan out Ibe/Wisdom? And also, is Raheem Sterling still very much a rotation/first team player? {Ed001's Note - he is 17/yes. Yes.}

Hi,

Reports close to psg chairman saying we agreed 19.6m for Sakho is it true?

Also at that price would toure then become back-up?

Ryan719

Believable10 Unbelievable19

As suggested, I think by one of the eds, Toure could become cover/move up into a dm position.

Agree1 Disagree0

That is believed to be in euros, yes

Agree1 Disagree0

I wouldn't say 'cover' I think the two would probably be rotated. Ilori will more than likely be back up whilst he settles.

30 Aug 2013 18:04:24
Dear eds, sorry for the repeated information and re-cycled debates already discussed. But are we close to Ilori and Sakho, as the BBC are suggesting this evening? Apparently they are due in for medicals tomorrow. The price for Sakho (£13mil) a player who has less than a year to run on his contract seems slightly steep though. Is that accurate too? Thanks again. {Ed001's Note - I don't know about the prices, but I did hint at this, we want both, not one or the other. Looks like we are now close to sealing both deals, though, as pessimism seems to help a deal go through, I will expect a last minute breakdown as Spurs swoop in......}

Believable33 Unbelievable1

That made me laugh Ed001

Agree2 Disagree0

Persia_Prince, what else do you want Rodgers, Ayre and the owners to do? If they miss a target we say they are cheap and offer less, if they pay the price some clubs demand we say they are paying too big a fee. Pls, let's pray that we have them before the window closes. The market are being inflated.

Agree0 Disagree0

Should we expect the departure of Martin Skrtel and/or Sebastian Coates with the possible arrival of Tiago Ilori and/or Mamadou Sakho? {Ed001's Note - both were likely to leave, but Coates won't go yet due to his injury.}

Agree3 Disagree0

Hi eds, if we sign ilori and sakho if its to believed do you think skirtel will be loaned out or sold? {Ed001's Note - yes.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed1 do you expect a winger as well? {Ed001's Note - I never expect anything.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't you dare get your hope up Ed01. I'll never forgive you if we don't sign either now! ha

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Aug 2013 23:46:56
Who do you reckon he'll end up at?

Eds01 is right. With FSG tight wads in charge, expect nothing. They might have bought the club but have no interest in progressing it.

Just to correlate with an earlier post that ''Liverpool hope to complete the signings of defenders Mamadou Sakho from Paris St-Germain and Sporting Lisbon's Tiago Ilori in the next 48 hours.''

Source: BBC Website, Ben Smith.

Be great additions to the club. let's hope an attacker comes in or they'll be some complaints haha.

Did we sign danilo the 17 year old?

Believable9 Unbelievable22

Would be very hard to find out until next summer, as he only turns 18 in late Feb and can't move until then. Sounds likely though, promising player by all accounts.

Papa G

Agree2 Disagree0

I did post on this earlier but eds not put it up. South American press reporting Liverpool are in talks, but that there are also "investment groups" in talks with the player. He is only 60% owned by the club, so its a bit complicated, and he's not yet a pro with the club either and apparently they have option on signing him. Its all a bit unclear.
Cant see it being sorted yet awhile. {Ed001's Note - he is under 18, so can't move to Europe, so plenty of time to sort issues out.}

Agree2 Disagree0

I have no idea whether its true or not but if it is he'll move in January when he's 18

Hey EDS, Is there any news on Sigurddson? I heard we put in an ambition bid after spurs brought Erikson? {Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}

Believable2 Unbelievable25

Would be better asking about holtby he seems surplus at whl good player might be available worth asking at least but I think I seen holtby a huge everton fan may be mistaken

Agree0 Disagree0

Am I missing something Eds? As far as I was aware Erikson has not been signed but was free to talk with spurs etc. Has he actually signed already? I still cannot see why spurs need him considering they just got Lamela who o know is a different player but do they really need another attacking player? {Ed001's Note - signed.}

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2013 08:55:47
Rogers will never go for sigurdson, he rejected us and joined spurs and then said how spurs was a better club than lfc. He also looks like he won't be a regular starter with the new additions, we wasn't that great for spurs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well he can enjoy watching his new buddies from the comfort of the bench that he is going to be warming for the rest of the season.

Hi eds do you believe if we sign Ilori and Sakho then Skrtel will be sold? {Ed001's Note - yes.}

Believable21 Unbelievable3

Wasn't we subject to a bid from Napoli for him, which BR denied at the time? {Ed001's Note - loan yes.}

Agree3 Disagree0

With the Napoli bid rejected can you shed any light on new potential suitors? Or might Napoli come back in.

Honestly used the search function with no luck. {Ed001's Note - I would expect a deal to Napoli to be the most likely still.}

Agree0 Disagree0

BR's press conference and he's asked about bids for Ilori and Sakho. His reply "I wouldn't tell you if we were bidding!" So make your own minds up what that means.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't see him staying around for another season on the bench. Rodgers obviously doesn't rate him moving forward. On his day he's a solid, hard tackling defender. He's been a good professional on and off the pitch and if he goes then good luck and YNWA.

Agree2 Disagree0

When does the russian transfer window close he could be a option for 1 of the russian clubs

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the Russian transfer window closes on the 6th of September. So plenty of time if the Napoli move doesn't go through.

Lori and sako are nailed on.
Question for edd001, I was told by someone with know that chelsea approaced us about mata and moses. Clearly there available. Mata is a player imo who is top class. It is clear we were after an attacking player and missed out on three. Do you think we will show interest in buying mata as a loan was rejected? Thanks mate {Ed001's Note - is this a wind up?}

Believable10 Unbelievable20

I'm sure Chelsea would have to go around looking for interest in Mata- makes total sense cause who could possibly want him?

Agree1 Disagree2

"Lori and Sako"? Sounds like an act on "Britain's got Talent". We might have been informed Moses is available but I can't believe Chelsea are touting Mata around.

Agree0 Disagree0

AVB said recently that Mata is too hard too sign, so AVB has tried in some capcity to ask after Juan Mata and he seems to get everyone he's wants, unless Chelsea want them.

I'd be surprised if Chelsea would sell Tottenham any player, as they've certainly bridged a huge gap and surely Chelsea wouldn't want to help them. But Liverpool would have surely have a problem convincing one of the best players about to join us when we seemingly will struggle and fight for fourth place, Mata's going to want Champions League football as well i'd imagine. Just my thoughts though, he'd be a great great signing for us if he did join.

Yarmolenko doesn't look like he will be signing after Rogers latest comments haha never heard a him

Believable9 Unbelievable19

Hes not going at admit anything until its done. Look what happened with Willian and HM. I bet he does know him and is aware of his ability.

Rodgers is to respectful to say something like that about a player

Didn't Wenger say the same thing about podolski last year?

Don't trust managers, whether they are yours, or your football clubs

Agree0 Disagree0

I saw him say it and he grinned when he did. He replied to questions about possible signings the same way every time. "I wouldn't tell you if we were bidding"! You need a sense of humour transplant if you think he was serious about never having heard of Yarmolenko.

Agree1 Disagree0

Yarmolenko is incredible, if he don't know about him. he should learn about him

Hey eds just read that we were linked to FC Porto defender Abdoulaye Ba. (This means nothing to me because who haven't we been linked with?!) But do you ladies/gents know if this report has any substance?

Personally think we should just go get Sakho, Alderwierled, or Ilori. Not sure when or how this fella came into the picture.

Thanks guys. Keep the faith YNWA {Ed002's Note - I would doubt it. Rennes, Southampton and Villa are interested in him I have explained where Liverpool's interest is.}

Hey ed, in your opinion, will Liverpool be able to agree a price with PSG? We appear to be very stubborn with prices lately (which is not a bad thing), but this seems to be the time to push forward for a deal? Any info if PSG are willing to settle for an acceptable amount, or would they risk losing Sakho on a free? {Ed002's Note - Sakho has been on the list of targets for many clubs over the past year or so - Monaco, Arsenal and Lyon have sustained interest in Sakho and there has been some interest from Newcastle, Inter Milan, Manchester City and even possible interest lingering interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona. Baader has explained that AC Milan and Liverpool have recently enquired about his availability - but at that time PSG were not keen on selling and the player was then keen to stay. However, Laurent Blanc remains concerned about his attitude and would be willing to let him move on - that could be facilitated after the departure of Leonardo who had been lending him support, although the owner wants to see him stay. Would be an excellent buy for Liverpool if Agger or Skrtel were to move on, and not out of the question - but no acceptable offer has been made by the club just yet, but one or two low offers have been rejected. Napoli are also considering Sakho as an alternative to Agger and Alderweireld but have been put off by the asking price - although they are still seeking a loan. Roma were also showing signs of interest but decided the price was too high and have seemingly stepped back. PSG has also offered the player to MIlan but at the asking price they have also said no but are looking to negotiate, ideally for a loan. Other clubs offered the player at a rather high €20M (although they will accepta a little less) are Manchester City and Arsenal. PSG has made it clear to the player that he will need to sign a contract extension if he is to be allowed to leave on loan - else he leaves if a buyer can be found, signs a new deal and sorts himself out or sees the coming season out in the reserves. He has turned down the offer of a two-year extension.

As for my opinion - Liverpool would need to up their bid considerably to be seen as a serious bidder. Do not be surprised to see a so far unmentioned late bidder come in with a serious offer.}

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Thanks ed! Barca, City, or Russians is my bet :p

Agree1 Disagree0

Stubborn? lol we've been completely ridiculous, the bids we've made are ones the clubs involved simply can't or won't accept. Being prudent is one thing, but a bit of realism is required as well.

Agree1 Disagree0

Probably spurs.

Hey eds. With Galatasaray demanding £13mil euro's for Yilmaz. Do you see us stepping in with a bid? We were supposedly linked with him after Diego Costa renewed his contract with A. Madrid. Thanks again. {Ed002's Note - We've been through this. Try the search function.}

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Only thought to mention this, as it looks like he will be moving to Lazio (ssn) he would represent value for money at that price, sorry if it's a no-go.

Hia Ed002,

I hope that your well and had a good time over in Monaco.

I was just wondering if you'd heard anything about:
- A deal for Ilori being agreed,
- An enquiry from us for Moses.
- An offer for Yarmalenko (I'm guessing there's still no interest like you last said).
- A deal for Shay Given/enquiry etc.
- Any new news on Sakho (maybe a fresh enquiry or talks)?

If you haven't caught up since you've been back, no worries,

Thanks {Ed002's Note - I was fine for a couple of days Burnsy, thanks. (1) Liverpool are continuing to screw around with the money for Ilori. There is interest from elsewhere so it is now or never. (2) Hannover 96, Everton and Lille previously showed an interest. (3) I understand (as of last night) that there has been no actual offer made but Yarmolenko from Liverpool at this time. Gulordava has said that there had been no bid since one of €20M from Milan was rejected in June. He has suggested Juventus were also interested at that time. Now he says he expects bids from Napoli, Arsenal and Liverpool. He has tried this week to interest Chelsea, PSG and Milan - and having probably lost out on Eriksen, Milan has indeed shown some interest. (4) I know nothing of the situation with Given but am aware from reading posts that there seems to be interest. (5) Liverpool has had a low offer rejected. Perhaps two. Milan remain keen to take him on loan, but that won't happen unless he signs a new deal at PSG.}

Believable8 Unbelievable6

Thanks very much Ed002

Agree2 Disagree0

Thanks for the info ed. Have to say very worrying if Liverpool are dragging there heals and trying to barter over the price this close to the transfer window. Fairly obvious we are in dire need of at least 1 centre back and could do with an attacking reinforcement. After the promise of strengthening the first time (about a month ago) this transfer window has sadly failed to live up to its billing, few days left for it to be saved - just don't see it myself.

Agree1 Disagree0

Thanks for the insight Ed2 seems that everyone's suspicions aboutFSG penny pinching are confirmed- hope they realise we will not be able to compete for top 4 if they don't buy these players and this will cost them more revenue in the long run

Hi Eds,
Are you aware of any recent news regarding Turan and have we shown any interest in him at all?

Also.I had a look at Cissokho's positioning over the past couple of games and it would seem that he plays wider and further up the pitch than Enrique. If we are unable to bring in a left winger, does Cissokho have any experience in providing cover on the wing? I know that he is injured but expected to make a speedy return. {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new at this time.}

Hello Eds,
1) Does the move for Shay Given mean Brad Jones will be on his way out?
Surely we can't keep 3 keepers.

2) have we made a bid for Sakho last night?
A few french sites reporting we bid 12M euros for him. {Ed001's Note - 1. No. 2. I don't know about a bid, we are in talks, I believe, I suppose it depends on what the French sites mean by a bid.}

Good morning Eds and fellow reds. 4 days left and were sll jumping straight on this site the minute we open our eyes. We all have high hopes for players in and i'm praying for Sakho and Yarmalenko. Eds I follow this site all day.do u think Sakho is more probable to lioril? Also do u see Yarmalenko more likely then any others in his posistion at the minute? Ps u won't get slated, and you do a great job on here. {Ed001's Note - I don't know, though Sakho does seem to be more keen on the move, Ilori's club are the ones in need of money. As for Yarmolenko, he does seem most likely, though Milan are keen on him too, so that could throw a spanner in the works.}

Believable8 Unbelievable0

I wouldn't worry too much about Milan, they aren't willing to pay much more than 15m euros and according to a friend of mine his club want 19m euros, though I suspect with more than one team interested that his club are rather hoping for a bidding war.

If he moves I think it will be to us, but that's only conjecture on my part.

Agree2 Disagree0

I thought Milan were broke at the moment. Hence waiting for someone to buy boetang before they buy anyone. {Ed002's Note - Schalke are buying Boateng.}

Ed02, Would you put any stock at all in the couple of recent rumours about Lfc being interested in K Honda? {Ed002's Note - I explained previously that there was a meeting to discuss his early transfer to Milan arranged for yesterday in Monaco. I am not sure who is suggesting Liverpool has any involvement in this.}

Believable0 Unbelievable8

He is going to AC Milan, with Kevin Prince Boateng moving to Schalke04.

Trust me!

Agree1 Disagree0

K Prince-Boetang is on the verge on leaving Milan for Schalke. I expect Honda to be named as his replacement within a couple of days.

Agree1 Disagree0

Jaimie Kanwar on his Liverpool blog did a piece saying that Honda's transfer had broken down and how it made sense to try and sign him. It was just a bit of wishful thinking

Just a quick one for ed002 if your around did spurs bid for Eriksen or are they just talk to the player like ac Milan? {Ed002's Note - Spurs has made a bid.}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Is it accepted Ed?
Because just saw on news that Schalke have signed KP Boateng from Milan and I am pretty sure you suggested that if KP moves Milan will sign Erikson as they have already agreed wages with him.
Would love Spurs to miss out on another one. {Ed002's Note - Not yet, but the player and Spurs are working personal terms. Milan think they have lost out and have moved their attentions to Yarmalenko.}

Agree1 Disagree1

I was hopeful we would win if a battle for Eriskson occured. I still for the life of me cannot understand why spurs need him?
He is a very good player and slightly different for them but they have purchased enough players that do a similar job already. Going to be some unhappy campers sat on their bench for sure {Ed002's Note - Spurs have done a refresh of the midfield with the likes of Dempsey, Parker, Livermore and Huddlestone moving on.}
