LIVERPOOL TO BID FOR BAINES

30 Jul 2011 22:20:42
To be honest, the only place I've heard any rumour about Forlan is on here.

I would happily take him on loan with the option to buy as long as we didn't have to pay his wages.

Having said that, look at it this way:

No player, IMO, will replace Suarez and I do not think we paid £35m for a player to sit on the bench. So even if we were to play 2 up front (which I'm sure we won't) that leaves no space for Forlan, unless of course, he were to play wide right.

He wouldn't want to come back to England and have another nightmare season like he did with Man Utd.

On another note, I would rather we focus on just getting a left back and I really would love to get Baines.

As for signing a striker, I would leave it as things are and keep N'gog. I fear that if we let him go to a team like WBA or Bolton, he will play week in week out and score so many goals. I'd rather have him on the bench because, IMO, he's not that bad....

hi ed,
according to the italian media tuttomercatoweb
and calciomercato we are close to sign
the korean park chu young.
thanks MALTA. {Ed002's Note - Napoli, Schalke and Lille have offers on the table. When he got married and declared he was leaving Monaco he said he would only go to a champions league side. However, it is a bright kid and would I am pretty sure decide Liverpool is his best option - if an offer is made for him.}

Evening Eds, is there any update on what's going on with Meireles? With Aqua looking likely to leave and Gerrard injured, it would make no sense in selling him, as he's our most experienced, and in my opinion, best midfielder (after Gerrard), and can play anywhere across the midfield.

Quackers {Ed002's Note - There is nothing to report right now.}

Ed002: Do you have a personal problem with Aquilani, as you seem to be the only Ed which consistently says that he is unhappy and disruptive. As far as I can see, we brought him from Roma, got him back to fitness a lot quicker than Roma would have done and he 'should' be very grateful for that. He then struggled to find fitness and adapt to English football and therefore went back on loan to Roma gain fitness/match fitness. He has now come back to Liverpool and the 4 games he has featured in, has quite easily been the shining light - which I do think that most fans/website followers can see. Why can't you? {Ed002's Note - All of the fans know now that he wants to go as evidenced by the dealings with Fiorentina. The player is desperate to leave, the club are very happy to see him go as eveidenced by Comolli's lengthy visit to the Principality last weekend and the agreement reached for him to go on a loan to by deal. The reason you will see more from me on the subject is that I am much closer to the situation than any of the other Eds. I have never questioned his ability as a player.}

First time posting. In Montevideo on holiday and every
taxi driver and barman is a lot more
convinced than me than we have got
Perreira in the bag. They are saying
he is great mates with Suarez and
will be great for us. Here is hoping
they are right Great site. Keep up
the good work......real mess going on
with Stevie G. Not happy.

Milan Jovanovic hopes to find out by Tuesday if he will be able to complete his protracted move to Anderlecht from Liverpool.

30 Jul 2011 18:26:06
Not a rumour; If it seems Stevie will be out for an extended period of time. Wouldn't it make sense to keep Aquilani as some sort of additional insurance in CM? Just a thought. Eds?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - No it makes no sense whatsoever to force an unhappy player to stay. It could be potentially disruptive in the changing room.}

30 Jul 2011 18:17:52
Due to what I can gather from a close friend, it seems that Aqua has practically left Liverpool. This will be released to the public in the following days. Although no names were mentioned, he also said that LFC will sign 2 more players before the end of the transfer window. One of these is a CB. He did not name the other position.

If I was to have a guess, I'd go for either:
LB - Enrique

or

RW - Adam Johnson

Hi, first time poster here :)

I live in Swansea (although a lifelong liverpool supporter) and my son is with the cygnets. There seems to a growing rumour/unease amongst the parents that the one Swansea player that most of the kids look up to, Scott Sinclair is being looked at by Liverpool. I really dont know what to think, the local rag is normally pretty good but have not printed anything yet, but there seems to be just too much being said.

tbh i'm not 100% convinced about him, with the swans being so local, i seen them a few times last season and on each occasion he was electric for them....kinda ashley young/aaron lennon lite....with the emphasis on lite, but can play right across the field, scores goals for fun, links play at pace and would likely cost less than half mata would..... however if the interest is genuine i think we're more likely to watch and maybe move for him at xmas

30 Jul 2011 15:56:06
I have just received information that there may be interest in both Cameron Jerome (Birmingham, 24, ST) and Scott Sinclair (Swansea City, 22, LW/RW). Both are young and British so a transfer definitely looks possible.

I have reliable sources.

Thanks, James.

30 Jul 2011 15:54:15
My predictions

No LB till poss Jan
CB - Dan, Cahill, Richards. likelyhood in that order.
No CM till poss Jan. Sissoko or McCarthy
Winger A. Johnson, if not before window closes, late bid with player putting in transfer req. If not re bid in January.
No CF

Outs - Poulson, Aquaman, Ngog.

I don't see any loans coming in. Kenny wants a stable squad to go forward with.

Eds are the forlan rumours true about loan is it at all possible ? Please reply

Cheers James P {Ed002's Note - It seems very unlikely.}

30 Jul 2011 14:58:31
I know some targets what could be coming to Liverpool if we sell the players we need to. Hopefully Aquaman and Merieles (spelling) will be going and that would raise about 22 million hopefully.
-Park chu young
-Dann
-Alvaro Pereira
-Jeffren
-Sissoko
Hope the Forlan rumours are fake i wouldn't even get him for free if it was on Fifa 11. He's 31 or something and has about 100,000 a week.

30 Jul 2011 14:23:21
Afternoon Ed(s) I know this ones a little out of left field but any chance of Adem Ljajic? I know he was united bound until they dropped their interest and I'm not sure how he's been playing at Fiorentina but he's young and was, not so long ago, touted as a superstar in the making as well as playing in a position which we still need to strengthen.
Sorry if this is a ridiculous question but just a thought

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Liverpool Chris. After the Manchester United interest a couple of years ago there was certainly interest from Everton in England and Leverkusen (from memory, but I think it is correct).}

Stevie was spotted in my home town of Bingley (West Yorkshire). This is where The Yorkshire Clinic is. Many footballers come here including Jordi Cruyff who I spoke to when he was here.
I didn't speak to Stevie but my brother goes to TYC for an on-going back problem. He spoke to Stevie, who said he was going to play a part this season. Although my brother said it didn't sound to convincing.
I never believe people when they say on here that they spoke to the player, but this is 100% true.

Gerrard is finished Mcarthy his replacement or failure to get him we will put a 20m plus bid in for Fellani

30 Jul 2011 13:12:12
Hi Eds,

whatever happened to the chances pf signing
Diego? Has he signed for anyone? As if not with Gerrard out he would be a creative option to compliment Adam, Lucas, Merieles. {Ed002's Note - Diego is still looking for another club. I really don't see him as a sensible option.}

30 Jul 2011 13:08:57
Is the renewed bid for McCarthy just paper talk or will we move for him? Have the eds heard anything?

If we do go for him, I think it could lead to Raul Meireles moving on along with Poulsen and Aquilani.

What do we make of this EDS?

Liverpool FC this afternoon issued the following statement:

Steven Gerrard today began a course of antibiotic treatment for an infection related to an ongoing groin problem.

He is expected to remain in hospital for several days while the precautionary procedure is completed.

The player will then return to Melwood to continue his rehabilitation programme and is expected to be available for selection in September.

Is there any truth in the kalou rumours he maybe surplus to requirments now sturridge is back an with chelski lookin to buy lukaku. Think he would be a good signing.
Skurks {Ed002's Note - I very much doubt Liverpool have any interest in him. He would want first team football and he will be disappearing off in January and February as well.}

hi eds, now posted on lfc site, that stevie g, is in hospital to have antbx on an infection in his groing, will stay in hospital for a couple of days to make sure the atbx is working then return to melwood, and expecting him to return sept,
so that clears that up then, sounds serious,

aguero hasnt kicked a ball for city yet, but is already causing conflict at the club with an uprising from, kompany, richards and de jong, who now believe they are underpaid after hearing what kun will earn,
no way will city win the league, they will be too busy fighting amongst themselves and not passing to him and just little cliques, bit like drogba with torres, they would sooner shoot from the halfway line than pass to someone on twice their wage, do we really want someone like that at lfc, i dont,
i think mancini gonna have his hands full trying to keep that lot happy, in kk i trust, jimmybosun,

Hi ed i am a Liverpool fan from manchester believe it or not. I have a few friends in the reserve and youth set up at man city and they seem to think that Liverpool are in talks with Richards

30 Jul 2011 11:18:40
Hey ed any confirmed interest in park-chu young an gary cahill i think that they would be quality additions to strengthen are squad. An i think we'll prob wait till january now to sign a leftback as a central defender is more of a priority....

A lot of websites linking us with a move for james mccarthy surely not another midfielder or can he play down the right are any of these rumours eds?

D690 {Ed002's Note - There was interest at the start of the window but Liverpool and Chelsea were scared off by the £20M plus fee.}

30 Jul 2011 10:52:54
Man C hav shown slight interest in G. Johnson in the past, could poss be part of such a deal involving A. Johnson. With M. Richards being unhappy we cud do a deal for both. Could be a good deal for both clubs.

any liverpool fan who is saying aquilani is staying has been severely deceived...the fact he still has no squad number when everyone else has been assigned one is the clearest indication and he is playing in friendlys basicaly as a shop window in hope that someone comes in with a good offer..personally i'd keep aquilani as i rate him but his injuries will probably never go away an we should offload whilst we can

I wonder if LFC had any scouts at
the under 19 match between Spain
and Ireland, with Spain winning 5-0,
very impressive, great technique.

Unfortunately most of the Spanish
team are at top Spanish clubs, even
Rafa would have difficulty attracting
them to LFC.

Hi Eds, i have only ever told this site about one definate signing before anyone else on here and that was Robbie Keane back in 2008, seem to remember everyone saying that it was never going to happen.Anyway what i am hearing is that Kenny is really keen to snap up James Mc Carthy.He was prepared to leve the deal until next season but a couple of reasons have changed his mindset, one being Gerrards persitant injury and the other being Arsenal and Chelsea showing strong interest in the player after hearing that talks over his new contract have broken down.Im Irish myself and know a few people involved with the national team but also a massive Liverpool fan and said id share this one with you.Intersting to see what will happen but this is what im hearing at the moment lads.

30 Jul 2011 09:42:52
Hey Ed..not sure whether the reports this morning linking us with James Mccarthy have any truth in them but surely we've got enough of a british core in midfield. If we were to go after another centre mid, surely moussa sissoko for example would be a better acquisition?

Keep up the good work {Ed002's Note - There has been interest from Chelsea and Liverpool in McCarthy, back when the transfer window first opened. Both sides were put off by the suggested £20M plus fee. I agree that Sissoko would be a great buy - and so does Comolli.}

30 Jul 2011 09:35:23
Hi Ed, just wondering the possibility on Adam Johnson to Liverpool?

Please post on rumour page :) {Ed002's Note - Not so good because I don't think there will be interest from the club and I am not sure that the money is available for such a purchase.}

30 Jul 2011 09:31:48
Ed just read on bbc that mancine has been quoted in italian press that he wants to sign on winger and medfeilder.

It is also reported that jhonson wants out because he wants to play regularly so that he gets selected for england.

My gut feeling is he will go on loan but may be not to liverpool as city see us as rivals.

What you make of this latest developments.
On different note do you think there could be real bargains and loans in last part of window from likes of real, city and barcelona.we all remember vander vart signing for spurs so cheap.management must be aware of this.
Red indian {Ed002's Note - If Johnson leaves I see no reason, aside from funds and possible lack of interest, why Liverpool cannot bid. I don't think we would see a bid turned away because it was from Liverpool. The VDV situation was very unusual with Bayern Munich pulling out of the transfer with just a few hours to go, but there may well be some good loan options available. However, it is not in the best interests of building a team to have players involved who are available only on a temporary basis.}

30 Jul 2011 09:30:17
reports that Spurs are tabling a bid for Juan Mata- if he was the difference between us and them getting in the top 4 everyone on this forum would be devastated. At circa 20m he would not present much of a risk as there would be a decent resale value back to La Liga if he couldn't cut it in the Premiership.

30 Jul 2011 08:56:11
Thought i, d post ahead of all the obvious posts that are going to arrive after seeing the spurs are trying to hijack the mata deal. firstly spurs wanna look like they can aytract these players. fact is they have yet to make a serious monetary bid for any of the players they are linked with..... probably have to sell to buy .
Next....
Mata..... whilst a serious tallent he has never played in the prem . where as downing has.... rvv @spurs last season was a revelation until about 9 games in then got found out a bit by defenders admitidly he still played well but was no were near as affective as the early games..... This could translate to mata. as his strength and ability to handle the rigours of the prem are all up for debate. where as downing has been proven in this league and still ended up top of all winger stats last yr.

30 Jul 2011 08:44:57
Ed is there any truth about Liverpool lining Up for Adam Johnson transfer? {Ed002's Note - I don't know that they are, but I am perhaps not so sure as others seem to be that Manchester City would not do business with Liverpool should the opportunity arise.}

30 Jul 2011 08:05:38
If Man City sign Cerci, expect them to do biz on Adam Johnson with LFC pushing for his signature.

30 Jul 2011 08:10:00
Ed is there any way Liverpool could get keisuke Honda? {Ed002's Note - In theory no reason at all. However, Liverpool may have blown their chance of Honda in January when he was available for about £8M. Although it is coming up to mid-season in Russia, Wolfsburg and Juventus had shown interest in Honda but the player says he wants to move to Spain and the 25M euro asking price that CSKA have now put on him put them off. I would however think that there remains an opportunity to negotiate still.}

Hi ed, how's it going? A lot of Adam Johnson rumours flying around and what do you think is the likelihood of him joining us? Would be a fantastic signing if he did...

Nice site mate, love it, thanks.

maka {Ed002's Note - I would love to explain this too you but there have been such extreme abuse that I am no longer prepared to get involved in such predications.}

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'll do it for ya ed,

1. i don't think we ever had a serious interest in signing A. Johnson.

2. Although City plan to go for broke this season with the league title in mind, their chances of finishing 3rd or 4th are very high, and as such they would not be prepared to sell a player like Johnson to a club that is planning on taking that spot from them.

3. Haven't there been enough controversial incidents with newspapers over the years for people to build a general dis-trust of the media. It seems it's true that people will believe ANYTHING so long as it's something they want to hear.

So think about this before people start hurling abuse towards other posters about us "missing out" on another player.

El juego hermoso.

Morning Eds and All, do not be alarmed by the time I write this, I am in Australia on a business trip. On to news, Aquilani will definitely be a player of either of Milan of Fiorentina. His agent Franco Zavaglia, is understood to have been contacted by Adriano Galliani in order to rush through the deal before Fiorentina agree a fee with Liverpool. Galliani will contact DC with a straight cash offer of about 11m. Also Raul Meireles has not been involved with any team affairs as of late, as he is subject of interest from Malaga. The now super-rich club will offer 15m for his signature. Both deals will happen by the end of the coming week. This will create enough funds for Kenny to wheel in some more faces, with LB and CB priorities, and also a Striker and Winger in his wishlist. Enrique is no longer a target of KD's or DC's, as his behaviour towards Newcastle is not want Kenny wants in the squad. Cissokho is a no go, which will leave Alvaro Pereira as Kenny's number 1 target. Kenny is willing to go as far as 19m to sign the player. With 7m remaining, Park Chu Young of Monaco is top of his list to make the move as back up striker. His shirt sales alone in Asia will recoup the money spent on him. The winger and centre back will come in the closing stages of the window, after the season has started. Kenny has been impressed with Jeffren Suarez and is willing to place a 6m bid for his services. If this is unsuccessful, the player will be told that Liverpool will come back in January with a pre-contract for next season, as his contract ends next year. Our last signing will be Scott Dann. Kenny knows the pull of playing for your boyhood club is too large to ignore, which is why he is waiting for the end to sign him. With Birmingham in major cash problems, they are in no position to ask for more than 10m, so Kenny and Damien are hoping an offer of £6m plus Jonjo Shelvey on loan will be sufficient in bringing the player to Anfield.

AQUILLANI CRAP IS JUST ANNOYING.A SWAP FOR MONTOLLIVO WOULD'VE BEEN THE BEST.NOW JUVE IS BAK
Juve to bring back Aquilani?
As Alberto Aquilani demands a permanent move before joining Fiorentina, there are reports he could return to Juventus instead.

The midfielder is not part of Liverpool s plans, but has made it clear he will only accept a permanent transfer this summer.

He has been heavily linked with Fiorentina, who are struggling to reach his price-tag.

According to Sportitalia, there could be a shock return to Turin for Italian international Aquilani.

He spent last season at Juventus on loan, but the club refused to take up their 16m option on a permanent move.

It seems they might ve changed their minds and could be ready to make a bid for Aquilani.

liverpool to sign freddy sears by end of the transfer window

29 Jul 2011 23:48:01
Malaga have made an enquiry on the availability of Raul Meireles and Alberto Aquilani. Malaga looking for creative midfielders and could have either of these players for between 12- 15mil.

Scott Dann and Gary Cahill will both sign before the end of the transfer window if KK gets his way. Two of liverpools senior central defenders will be leaving. Agger is definatley
Going to leave, Kyrigkos the other likely candidate. No left back will be signed in this window as Johnson is likely to be 1st choice for that position. 2 reasons: No1: No quality leftbacks that are available at this time. No2: to much collodion at right back with Kelly and Flanagan battling it out to be 1st choice. Aurellio is never fit for long enough to stake a claim.
