Im pleased tbh. I don't think he is good enough tbh for us. I hope we get a decent player in for left bac. Its needed greatly.

Agree3 Disagree0

Best bit of business we haven't done all summer.

Agree8 Disagree0

Dodged a bullet there.

Agree1 Disagree0

Seeing quite a few reports that Liverpool and Chelsea are struggling to agree a fee for Bertrand, looks likely he will go to Southampton on loan now

Believable69 Unbelievable9

Our recruitment team are in Southampton, they'll talk to him if he turns up.

Agree21 Disagree1

30 Jul 2014 21:49:36
Well, the talk worked wonders!

"Want to join the Old Saints or the New Saints?"

"New Saints for me-looking forward, not back,- just signed!"

Agree0 Disagree0

Loan to soton has been confirmed

Agree0 Disagree0

Who you reckon then for left back? . I think if Liverpool wanted Bertrand they could have easily pushed it through! Must be a target they'd prefer?

Agree0 Disagree0

Trought southampton to Liverpool then :)

Eds, what is the latest news on Zakaria Bakkali, the Belgian Winger (18yrs) that LFC are interested in bringing to Anfield?

Believable15 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - He will probably move to Atletico.}

30 Jul 2014 16:17:30
shaqiri put on his facebook wall 6 hours ago he was on his way to new York with his bro lfc v man city tonight at yankee stadium. maybe he is coming to sign

Believable42 Unbelievable63

I might be wrong but wasnt he in a Bayern shirt aswell?

Agree2 Disagree0

Had a look at that he is with . diego contento(not a bad one either) who is a left back . but saying that doubt them going tonight is anything to do with a transfer! :/

Agree0 Disagree1

Might be something to do with Bayern on tour in usa!

Agree3 Disagree0

Bayern arrive in New York this afternoon, presser at 4.30 local time, play Club Deportivo Guadalajara tomorrow, Friday they are going on a river trip, then they fly to portland ready for the next game.

Or Shaqiri could be coming to meet up with Liverpool.

Which do you think is most likely :D

Hi Ed001

Do you no the latest on the Borini situation please. Is it a case of talks ongoing abd him trying to be pursuaded in going to them?

Believable8 Unbelievable13

{Ed001's Note - no, it is a case of him having an option on the table to decide upon.}

Hi ed1. Do you think LFC will go for bony or do you think they will leave it now till january to looj for another striker?

Believable9 Unbelievable19

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure mate, probably wait now you would think, I would expect the focus to be left back. But it doesn't seem to be the way the club are working, so I would have to say I yes.}

I would be made up with bony.

he is far better than remy in my opinion. he is a proven goal scorer in the english and dutch league (check out his overall game/goal ratio - its 210/110!) . he is very strong and great a heading a ball in the back of the net. he also has great feat and ideas when on the ball. Although his pace doesn't seem to be up there with remy's his long shots and finishing are superb. He brings a different factor if he was to be brought into our squad. I feel much more excited with this possibility. Plus I feel he would compliment Sturridge much better.

I believe the player instead of Remy will be Bony.

Cheers

Big fan of Bony, would be an excellent signing

Would be a good option.

Think that would be a great signing for us hope it comes off

Thanks Macca. Wilf and Studge - our very own Waldorf and Statler!

Agree1 Disagree1

30 Jul 2014 12:26:09
Cheers Macca, hope that comes off. He seems a pretty good striker and has pl experience, which takes some of the risk out of it.

Hey Macca, good to see you back - let's see what happens?

I find it astonishing that 6 people have pressed the unbelievable button when this lad has said all along that the info he provides is what the players believe is going to happen. Why don't the 6 of you go back and view Macca's posts over the years and see how accurate the lad's info is.

He obviously has access to first hand info which he kindly shares on here when he knows something. I'd like to say thanks to Macca and how much I appreciate this great info you share with us. Cheers mate and thanks for the heads up regarding Bony, he will definitely be a good addition.

Agree4 Disagree1

{Ed033's Note - it's possible that 1 or more of the 6 people are indicating that they don't want Bony, rather than disagreeing with Macca.

30 Jul 2014 12:46:02
Nice one Macca good to here from you. I hope we get him.

Agree1 Disagree1

Have to agree although he would not have been my first choice at start of window. still think pedro would have been a great player to grab but anyhow, I do think we need another striker who will give us more than a handfull of goals

Agree2 Disagree0

Im not sure that bony is going to do 20 goals but what he will do is keeping the ball up in offence. he is brutal strong and can hold away any defender I pl and cover the ball so the rest of the team can catch up with him up front, that is a very good skill of the game that he master and I think that would be valuable for us. plus he is a good striker with booth feet and head. I think he would cost quite a lot though.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jul 2014 22:10:06
IMH there are also many trolls from other sites that will agree or disagree just to be awkward. don't get me wrong Liverpool fans do it aswell. I think that's why they were removed from banter as it got a bit in sensitive at times (for instance on rip posts). Thank you anyway Macca nice to see you back.

30 Jul 2014 22:19:29
Macca I wish u didn't say that lol he's my number one choice! Got my hopes up now mate.

Cheers Macca, short an concise as per usual. Look forward to seeing how this target progresses or does not. I always love watching the media when you have given us an insight just see how we get all the twists and turns.

How is Bony any different to Lambert? Both target men, strong, good with their feet. I guarantee we won't get top four. Now I await the reaction of others, saying I am not a true fan etc. In my opinion he is not good enough and as a result the top four is gone. Thanks for the update though Macca.

Agree0 Disagree1

Thanks for the update I was starting to wonder if Br was going to bother with a striker at all, keep it up with the updates please.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2014 08:55:21
Bony will get at least 20 goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

Reports from Swansea player's say Bony looks better than ever before. I think he's the perfect player to hold up the ball between our attacking midfield and Daniel. With Markovic and Sterling on the wings, and possibly Coutinho or Lallana behind, we would look very dangerous -- strong and quick on the break.

Can't wait to see if he does come in. A legitimate 30 goals (in all competitions) striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never wanted Remy (too similar to Studge), Bony much better as can play as link up man. And he won't dive half as much.

Good move if less than 17m

Hi Eds, couple of questions regarding the fullbacks situation. 1- do any of you know what's happening with the Javier Manquillo deal that seemed to be on the verge of being completed 5/6 days ago, its gone pretty quiet but is that a result of wrapping up deals for Lovren and Origi? 2- Who is our number 1 left back target now? (presuming moreno deal is all but dead unless we stump up or they lower the asking price which hasn't happened so far).
As always thanks for the work and info always appreciated.

Believable9 Unbelievable7

{Ed001's Note - I don't know what is happening with the Manquillo deal at all, sorry. As for number one left back target, that was Moreno. That won't change just because we don't get him, he was the number one target. Anyone else will always be at best number two target. We have stepped away from that deal though, the only chance it would be resurrected would be if his club decided they needed the money to strengthen other areas of the team. Our offer is still sat there for now. We did return to the Bertrand possibility, and looked at some lad from France, I don't know a name sorry and we have spoken to Porto again regarding Alex Sandro.}

When you say 'spoke again' regarding Alex Sandro our interest must be pretty sting then? DO you know the outcome of the talks?

Thanks

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no idea the outcome, though knowing Porto are not in desperate need to sell, I would expect we were priced out of a deal. Though they have recently signed left backs in preparation for him being sold.}

Is this lad from France the Monaco left back Kurzawa ed?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no idea sorry, I wasn't given a name for him.}

Hey ed001, any new updates on outgoings?

is it true Suso is in negotiations of a new contract? if true surprised how that turn out, from almost moving to Porto to negotiating a contract.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Rodgers likes players who will fight for their place and show a good attitude. So there has been some talks about it yes.}

30 Jul 2014 10:12:30
Would I be right in assuming Alex Sandro would probably command a large fee?

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Try the Spurs page.}

Without going into detail. How far apart are we with our valuation and what Seville want? For the layman fan like me all reports suggest we are around £4m. Given we will be playing Champs league and we are currently pretty cash rich, £4m doesn't seem a great amount in order to get our number 1 target in. Obviously this is an incredibly simplistic view but one I can't help get frustrated with as I feel full back is an area we were weak in last season and one where we can improve.

Thanks

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - there is more to it than that.}

Would you care to share? I guessed it was. Always more than meets the eye

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it was all the details, not just amounts, but timing of payments, add ons, etc etc.}

30 Jul 2014 12:25:36
Ed002, I assume Jack was talking about the brazillian left-back at Porto.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Ok.}

Morning Eds

Quick question, is there any possibility that LFC could get Ron Vlaar from Villa

Cheers

Believable2 Unbelievable35

{Ed001's Note - we have not shown any interest in signing any more centre backs. Our target was always Lovren and we got him.}

Is there any reason Liverpool would get Ron Vlaar, is the question.

Would be fith choice at best.
