eds do you think Liverpool will sign any players before the start of the european championship? {Ed001's Note - I expect us to try and get our business done early if possible, so yes.}

Thats wat you said last summer

F5 {Ed001's Note - and we did try and get it all done early.}

{Ed022's note - Brand new player profile on Matias Suarez of Anderlecht. Linked with Liverpool and Arsenal in recent times. The profile itself isn't the longest, but I'm hoping the general comments make up for it. There is also a new profile on Olivier Giroud for all of you if you so choose to have a look! www.player-profiles.co.uk - Thanks all.}

Thanks Ed, I was hoping you would put him up :)

hey ed001 do you think we might go for a young striking prospect in the summer such as M'baye Niang for example, or do you think the likes of Morgan, Ngoo etc. we'll get a chance?

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea right now, there will be a list of players that are wanted for the positions we are looking to fill. It will be as much about which players we can get, as which player we want.}

Is one of those positions CM ed not an attacking mid so to speak more like a box to box style player as we are getting to linked to quite a few of them such as M'vila and Moutinho ?

Agent of Gaston Ramirez: "I can tell you with certainty that there are negotiations ongoing in Buenos Aires with a major English side which is ready to buy both the 70 per cent owned by Bologna and the 30 per cent of Penarol. "There are other clubs interested, like Juventus, but the only concrete offer comes from England and I will soon bring it to Bologna. "Will Ramirez leave next summer? Given the amount of clubs interested, I would say yes."
Just thought other people might find this interesting.
South Scouser

Ahh I hate when agents hardly reveal any info!I guess we must wait

From what I'm told he is fully expected to leave in the summer. As ed002 mentioned Juve and Napoli are the most interested parties, but I have been told that Inter have him on a short list also and he is near the top.

Nevada {Ed002's Note - As I have said previously Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club. This all dates back to before the January window and if the club were that interested then he was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - but Liverpool did not follow up on their initial enquiry. However, Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Manchester City, Spurs, Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. At present, Napoli are very much favourites for his signature. Discussions have now taken place between Bologna and Napoli - adding to discussions that have taken place with Juventus. And Napoli are very much favourites for his signature at this time. His agent remains as talkative as ever but as of March 30 there has been no offer for the player from any English club.}

Been reading rumours about Adeaboyor (spelling) possible moving to liverpool because spurs wont meet his wages. Can liverpool meet them and is there any intrest in the player?

Valley Red

I dont rate him anyway

when does the summer transfer window open eds? correct me if im wrong but i just read it opens after the last competitive match eng prem could any one clear this up.

gee man {Ed001's Note - it formally opens on 1st July, though, in reality, clubs normally jump straight into business as soon as the season ends. It makes little difference as the players are away on holiday anyway.}

30 Mar 2012 18:15:39
ed any interest in sessegnon or ben arfa, both are good,fit in with our policy, probably quite cheap and lfc is probably better than both their teams, no matter what the table says+ i'm loving this llorente lad!!

wafa {Ed001's Note - nope.}

Why would Ben Arfa leave Newcastle to join Liverpool - look at the league table. Keep loving Llorente but there's more chance of Kenny putting back on his boots than him joining us

Ed, Macca, after doing a bit of research it seems there may be something in this Ramirez story, can you confirm or deny the amount of Liverpool interest?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - I only know we are interested, Suarez recommended him (I am told) initially and he was checked out and Comolli rates him apparently. We have since had him watched and did make a tentative enquiry in Jan but were told to come back in the summer. That is everything I have.}

Ed have you seen the report ,I saw it on crunch sports (no idea how reliable they are) that his agent has said he is in negotiations with a "major English club" {Ed001's Note - never heard of them.}

Where would you see him playing for us ed? I have a sneaking suspicion he would play up front but also serve as a auxillary winger when needed.

From what I've seen he plays as a wing forward in the same role as Ronaldo.

Nevada {Ed001's Note - I would see him as the answer to our right wing issues.}

liverpool are front runners to sign gaston ramirez this summer !

leading behind are napoli who are keen on him but it looks like ramirez wants too join liverpool and also his agent is the same as seb coates - just saying

I dont know where you get your info from, but your wrong as it's Utd leading the race not Liverpool

Are you an utd fan like i doubt utd would be leading the race wen he good friends with suarez and coates

What race?

About time we became more involved in the South American youth market. where do you think these inflatted priced players come from after a season in Spain or Italy. (Lucas, Hernandez spring to mind, bargains.)

Have liverpool got interest in diego and tello? Also now lazio have bid for M.Suarez do you think lfc could make a bid?Gaston ramirez's agent has said a major english club is negotiating of him and there is interest in poulsen. Do we still own him and if someone makes a bid will we get the cash? {Ed002's Note - Diego, no. Tello if he becomes available then probably but I very much expect that Barcelona will offer him a new deal. I doubt any deal will be done for Suarez before the summer. I don't know what Ramirez' agent has said - nor to whom he has said it but no English club is negotiating with Bologna at this time and Napoli look best placed right now. The deal is that Poulsen will become a free agent in the summer. Evian paid Liverpool a fee to take him for a year but Liverpool pay most if not all of his wages.}

I believe that whoever is doing the deal is doing it in south america, trying to first negotiate the 30% of ownership from his previous club Penarol and then talk to bologna. My understanding is that Bologna wouldn't mind selling him to whoever meets the price of around 15m euro. However, its his agent that causes problems as he is expecting to earn himself some sign on fee. So whoever wants to sign Ramirez would have to temp his agent first.

STB

Tello is a rising star on a team that knows how to foster superstar talent from youth to first team. Why would Barca part with him? Answer is they wouldn't, except for perhaps a loan deal or a deal with some buy back clause. He is 20 and talented. Perhaps we would waste that...Barca won't.

OK, here's what I heard about the skills of Pablo Armero Udinese we're supposedly watching: I talked with a friend who's crazy about Italian football, and asked him what he thought of Armero:
"That guy's a machine mate, very fast, can play both defence and offence!"
"Oh, good, cause I hear we're looking to buy him!"
"Fat chance mate, he goes to Milan - P-E-R-I-O-D!"
Well, you can guess my friend's a Milanese through and through, and since I have enjoyed rubbing his nose ever since 2003, I really hope we actually go for Armero!

Drigan {Ed002's Note - As stated previously, AC Milan remain favourites for his signature.}

Hey Eds great site
Do you know who the English team in talks with Gaston Ramirez is according to his agent a concrete offer has been made by an unnamed english side ? Is it us or who do you think it is? {Ed001's Note - I would expect it to be us, but I have no info regarding it, I just know we have spoken to his club in the run up to the January window and told to come back in the summer.}

Ed001 i just want to ask whether you have confirmed info that we are 'seriously interested' in ramirez because i understand that ed002 is still unsure about our seriousness in the player.

im not trying to say one of you is wrong, but i just want to know whether the club is in fact trying to buy the player.

thanks. {Ed001's Note - my info is that we are interested in him, how serious the interest is, I really don't know, but he is of interest.}

ED2 what is the deal with a bid for Ramirez by the Reds? {Ed002's Note - As I have said previously Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club. This all dates back to before the January window and if the club were that interested then he was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - but Liverpool did not follow up on their initial enquiry. Hey Eds..heard a couple of rumours regarding Jack Robinson. Have you heard anything regarding a loan move to Aston Villa next season? And also Armero being a target for the summer?

Many thanks {Ed001's Note - yes, I said about it a few days ago on the Villa site, they made enquiries about Robinson on load for next season. Seems they are planning on Warnock no longer being first choice, or going altogether, for next season. Apparently we have spoken to Armero's club as well, probably, I would think, the 2 are tied together, we let Robinson go out for regular first team football and bring in a player who can provide cover.}

More than happy with this, seeing as Villa have a track record with young full backs (admittedly that was just Kyle Walker but still)

I think it's out of order that the FA made the quarter final kick off 12:30! When most of the fans are traveling down from Liverpool, how convenient that the London clubs get a late kick off or am I missing something? YNWA

Square tomato

Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the frigging midday sun!!

The only thing your missing ST is that its the semi's

Why is this? somthing should be done!
{Ed002's Note - The laste KO does not suit the London clubs, particularly Chelsea who have a game on teh Tuiesday or Wednesday following the Sunday. I would have expected the Liverpool v Everton game to have been at two or three allowing time to travel to and from the game in one day.}

My mistake I meant semi final.

Square tomato

Ye ed002 3oclock is allot more reasonable

Square tomato

It was never going to be 3:00 because of all the other games at that time. But would have thought it would be 5:30 or 6:00 like the other game {Ed002's Note - But none will be televised.}

Apparently It's to do with the Grand National? Well that's what the FA are saying they don't want it to clash?

Danny

Apparently LFCvEFC is on ESPN

Ye heard something about the grand national but I just think its a bit inconsiderate by the FA. Supporters now have to travel down the night before and spend more money on a hotel for the night which adds to an already extortionate day or travel down very early in the morning.

Square tomato

Done so that people stay overnight and spend money in London. Hope it is not on ESPN so that fans who have not got tickets can watch the game live.

Its on espn.the chavs is on itv.load of bollox

Am i missing somthing here, just get up and set off earlier,you could leave liverpool at 7am and still be there before 11am,watch the match and get back for your tea and a pint,what's the big deal? {Ed001's Note - you have obviously not travelled down to London before a big match, the roads will be mayhem.}

ED1, yes "obviously" i have never been down to London for a big game, well i am sure i was there about 6 weeks ago, 3.5hrs no probs, and would having the game kick of later mean the roads will be nice and quiet? The facts are the semis are at wembley and no matter what time the kick off would have been, people would not be happy. {Ed001's Note - possibly, but there is no doubting it makes it more difficult to get there being an early kick off. Getting back is the issue, if it's later, but you don't really worry about that as you are either too happy or too upset to care.}

And what about those that don't drive?

Cheers,

RobbehLFC.

The Football Association has confirmed the kick-off times for the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley Stadium next month. The Merseyside derby on Saturday 14 April between Liverpool and Everton is at 1230 BST, while the London derby between Tottenham and Chelsea is on Sunday 15 April and starts at 1800 BST.

Good morning Eds - Do you know of any LFC interest in Jordan Rhodes. Do you think he has what it take for EPL? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest.}

Said a few months ago, would love to see the lad join us has everything a goalscorer needs. Just needs to be given a chance at the top level. Clinical finisher.

Ad love to see himsign aswell

Dear EDS,
1)I understand that 2 position that LFC need to strengthen during summer, Winger and Striker.

For winger, have lfc consider Markel Susaeta from Athl Biabao? He got pace, use direct run and pass also good.
Any interest for Eduardo Salvio from Ath. Madrid?

For striker, Luuk de Jong looks good.

2)Have lfc consider to add another DMF to cover for Lucas? Spearing can only play good for certain game only.
How about Beram Kayal or Moussa Sissoko?

Hope u can give answer.

-dtg'lfc {Ed002's Note - Susaeta no. Salvio may well leave Atletico for a return to Benfica on a permanent basis with Genoa showing regular interest. Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko has attracted interest from Lyon, Roma, Genoa, Juventus, Liverpool and probably Napoli. Arsenal and Milan's previous interest waned over last summer. Damien Comolli let Sissoko's agent know that Liverpool see his man as the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard but for some reason Liverpool failed to make the final push in the summer. Sissoko remains available but Liverpool have yet to follow up their previous interest.}

Quick question - why did we sell Robbie Keane on 09, after half a season?

Thanks.

Totally agree!
I feel also that Carroll hasn't had his fair amount of playing time he either starts and is taken off when he starts looking dangerous or comes on for 20mins and receives no service

I read that Rafa was amazed at his lack of tactical football knowledge (as well as general intelligence)

Typical liverpool fan living in the past lol,
better Q is y sell torres in 2011? do what spurs did with modric and keep hold of him

Unlike Spurs, Liverpool have a past.

To answer the OP, I think Robbie Keane wasn't signed by Rafa, so Rafa didn't want him and eventually he was returned under warranty or something like that.

He was sold because he clashed with the fat spanish waiter. all the players loved him, especially gerrard and carra, but benitez made the call. don't cross the boss. just ask riera!

Why sell torres in 2011? um, i can think of 50 million reasons. but then, i suppose he has been on fire for chelsea. prolific

Im glad we sold keane. his attitude on the pitch got really low during his time with us. whingeing at the ref every time he got tackled, and complaining at team mates when they didnt pass to him. true carrolls attiutde is simmilar now. the real qustion should be why did we sell and not replace. and the answer to that is we were owned by dumb and dumber at the time.

And the guy who mentioned reira...he sparked pacheco in training when he was 17 or 18. thats a decent reason to get shot of someone in my book.

The eds know the answer but are not allowed to share. something about his behaviour off the pitch. Maybe he drank too much coca cola?

redkenyan

Isn't there an injunction of some sort with Robbie Keane at LFC? I remember one of the eds saying this.

For me, the main reason why we didnt win the league under Rafa. To be left with just Ngog as backup for Torres was a massive mistake.

I dont think he was the player rafa wanted in the first place and so it was never going to be a match made in heaven.

gee man

I could tell you exactly why Keane was sold but the eds could probably not print it for fears of a lengthy court case for libel. Just be thankful he was sold is all i can say.

Short answer.....because he was sh1t?!
5uarezTimes

Does anyone remember that after selling Keane we started scoring goals like crazy (eventually having most in the league....). Rafa never rated him, and when the brass realized he wasn't worth the money they shipped him.

Because he was s**t as the above post says^

Hi eds, do you rate Christian Tello and do you think that there is genuine interest from LFC in him, and that if so, would it be possible to sign him?

Cheers,

maka
YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - Please use the search function because this has been dealt with already.}

I've heard that Tello will sign a long term contract with Barca, but they may look to loan him out for the season.

Liverpool have rejected Crystal Palace's efforts to take Jon Flanagan on a season long loan for next season. However Liverpool have given the green light for Raheem Sterling to go on loan to Selhurst Park, the length of the loan is still being discussed. Wilfried Zaha was offered to Liverpool on Friday, but it's understood that Liverpool are looking for the finished article. I have no idea who as my sources are Palace based.-MB-

Eds heard anything? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Sterling can't go on loan as he is only 17! Only when he turns 18 can the club sit down with him and decide whether a loan is a viable option. This, however is a non starter. Given his sheer, transparently obvious quality we would be utterly irresponsible to loan him out. He outperforms on every level; every game and as such it has been duly noted by the club. Sterling has to a degree, shown others within the reserve set-up up for their failure to commit in a likewise manner despite their unobjectionable talent. Something that most still need to work on; within Melwood / The Academy or on loan with another club. Raheem though is an old head on very young shoulders, but he is completely unfazed by this, moreover; given his unhindered pursuit of reaching his target means he WILL be going into the first team next season - that much is concrete.

Well the length of the loan could only be 5 months at most because he can't go on loan until he's 18 and that won't be until December...

Liverpool Fan from Newcastle, first post in here.... I was out at an upmarket restaurant in Newcastle City Centre today and Damian Camolli was there! I know LFC are playing up here in North East on Sunday but it is only Thursday.... a little early to be here for the game on Sunday?

He is probably trying to get Newcastle to take Andy Carroll back.

Let's hope it's a good game on Sunday, they normally are.

He was probably hungry
