Eds do you think that there is a chance of us getting Marc-André ter Stegen as renia hasn't been playing well really since Rafa left some are saying Butland but his english so is probaly over hyped and Marc-André ter Stegen isquality.He is
in a good German team one that got CL football last season so looks the much better option

Also do we really need big name players to come in I would rather us secure Sahin and maybe a left back for cover for robinson as enrique is not wanted by the manager. I would also rather we bring through more of the talented crop of young players that we have coming through, jack robinson, jordan ibe, jerome sinclar, adam morgan, yesli wisdom suso sterling and etc. that have been kind of moulded for this system due to reserves manager and other coaches coming from barca when Rafa change how the academy was run. As well they know what the club means to everybody involved. They are also more willing to put a shift in look at Downing andEnrique fighting for there futures as they apparently don't pull there weight in training

Mark the red {Ed002's Note - I really don't know - is it out of the question that you are clutching at straws?}

Rafa did change the academy but for 5 years he wasn't interested because he didn't have full power imagine where we'd have been now if he wasn't so stubborn

Imagine where we'd be if a football manager had been allowed to get on and manage. The blame needs to be shared around more than you are doing.

As far as I know the contracts of Raheem Sterling and Suso are running out summer 2013. Is it likely they'll both be signing an extension soon or do we have to fear losing them?

Raheem runs until 2015. it's agger and suso that we should be worried about and talks are ongoing.

rafa was the bosphorus but in brendan we trust. YNWA. JFT96. {Ed002's Note - Sterling is still a child in teh eyes of teh FA - he cannot yet have a contract that runs that long.}

So what exactly does that mean now? {Ed002's Note - It means that he can sign a long-term pro contract when he is 18.}

I really doubt that Suso will be "let go" he's so highly rated at Liverpool it's beyond belief.

Brendan Rodgers needs to tie these players down asap, and stop talking about it before agents start talking to other club, especially suso and and sterling. Look what happened to Fran Marida of Arsenal when they tried to tie him town.....Atletico Madrid then came in and signed him......I know this is not allowed.....but unfortunatly it happens

I t hink Klaas Jan Hunterlaar would a great buy for the team i'm not saying it going to happen but i do believe tbat with him we would be more a threat going foward. Or even another natural goal machine some that will score 20 goals a season
Jack Butland as well as i feel that renia isnt at his best at the min and needs a quality player to make him fight for the spot as at the min the back up is quite poor

Wouldn't that be a dream january hey? :) {Ed001's Note - not for me, not sure about either, Huntelaar is slow and Butland has been terrible this season.}

30 Sep 2012 19:42:08
Having seen Butland in action recently he'd only be bought as a long term prospect rather than stepping into Pepe's boots.Butland is still a raw kid and young by any measure and he's made lots of ricks lately playing for his own club.Who knows if he'll ever develop into a top class keeper?

The Plank

So ed001, what do you think would be a dream (but realistic) january? {Ed001's Note - a top class keeper and older experienced left back to replace Enrique. Not sure I want anyone else blocking the kids getting games, they are too good.}

I would sooner take Gary hooper from Celtic because of age and cost ,I know he plays in Scottish prem but so did jelavic

Ed001, there aren't any available? So that's not realistic surely? Do you think under BR he will look to sign European players rather than this whole Dalglish buying British players thing? Thanks mate! {Ed001's Note - then don't buy anyone, what's the issue? As for that nonsense about British players, is Enrique or Suarez British? What about Coates? It is complete fallacy.}

The difference between the two is that Jelavic was a proven goalscorer at international level whilst Hooper isn't. Therefore the latter would be much more of a gamble signing and Rodgers can't really afford to take any more risks, and as ed001 stated the young strikers we already have need to be given their chance first

Huntellar played with suarez at ajax and they had a great partnership there and i think they could have the same with us he would not be as bad as some people think

Hi eds brillinat win yesterday but Reina was shocking. Any chance lfc could bring in a backup keeper who is good enough to replace Reina when he is injured or when he doesn't play well? {Ed002's Note - The summer would be more likely than January - Liverpool has enough keeprs already - they won't add without a departure.}

In what sense was he shocking against Norwich? I'm starting to get annoyed at people getting on his case for the smallest of things. I thought he had a fairly good game aside from their first goal, which tobe fair to the player was a good hit. The goals we've conceded this season have been largely down to defensive errors and affording the opposition far too much space, how many time have you read a report and seen "Reina had little to do and had no chance with the goals", defence needs to be sorted and fast. Norwich could've had a lot more than 2 on Sunday.

Could we not just support a player instead of wanting him out at the first sign of a problem. Unfortunately keepers are no less prone to a human mistake just because their errors tend to have more serious repercussions.

Ed002 do you think there is a chance of huntelaar coming as he only has 6 months left on his contract? i know he is 29 but the owners may see it as worthwhile considering his goal record {Ed002's Note - Not entirely out of the question, but right now I suspect an extension could still be agreed.}

He would save our crisis up front! Quality player!

Hi Eds,
Is there any chance of a move for Demba Ba in the January transfer window. I have read today that he may move on from Newcastle as he wants 60,000 pounds a week and they are not prepared to pay it.

Are we in the position to offer those wages to him after clearing out our own books a little?

Cheers,
Lee {Ed002's Note - I understand that Newcastle are still likely to get an offer for Demba Ba from Galatasaray. It is possible he will move but he would look for a Champions League side. I am also not so sure that he would slot in to the way Rodgers is looking to play without the side adapting. And he could be expensive to buy for a non-CL side.}

Don't forget about his dodgy knee before throwing any large sums of cash his way. Its for this reson I see newcastle letting him go even though for obvious reasons they will portray the image of wanting to keep him.
Demba Ba was a gamble for Newcastle. No one wanted him so they took the chance on his knee holding up for them. Now they have a perfect replacement in Cisse, it would make perfect sense for the geordies cash in on Ba before his knee does go and they end up with a retired player and nothing to show for the original gamble they took.
Good business for Newcastle if they move him on while the goals he has scored are making him a sellable asset.

Huws

He is looking for more than £60k per week.

That is unbelieveable demba ba wont leave newcastle

any news on isco cos only cost bout 12m but hes quality and considering we only have suso for right winger we cld be looking at him {Ed002's Note - Barcelona, Juventus and Spurs have shown an interest in Isco and he came close to a move to Dortmund, who may still follow up the matter. I suspect AC Milan might look to the player as well. There were rumours of interest from Real Madrid and Arsenal. Malaga want 22M euros but will likely accept 15M euros.}

OK so not Liverpool bound then

Ed do you think that lfc could become interested like they did with sahin? all the talk with sahin was other clubs then we signed him {Ed002's Note - Perhaps.}

Hello Ed002,
could please tell me if Rodgers is really interested in Villa? Why as he`s far worse than Luis. Isn`t it better to look at a striker who is a better all around player than Villa and better in the air on top - Ba for example? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - His age, wages, transfer fee and desire to stay in his own country would make any move for Villa seem unlikely to me.}

I am not Ed002

But you dont need to be mystic meg to know Villa is going nowhere near LFC

Villa spains greatest ever goalscorer who plays for one of the worlds greatest ever teams and you would rather liverpool buy ba lol if they wanted to play in the air they would have kept carrol

Villa is better goal scorer

David Villa is not to be mentioned along side Demba Ba.
Villa when fit and on form is a magic footballer. Ba is a foreign Darren Bent

no one can know for sure about this now. but ,eds, do you think if ozil left real madrid at the end of season or in jan, is there a chance for him coming to liverpool or are there other clubs he will be looking at. answer me for a) without CL b)with CL. thanks eds
KrishnaYNWA {Ed002's Note - Oezil will not be moving to Liverpool in January or at the end of the season, regardless of whether there is CL football or not.}

FIFA 13 perhaps is the best chance of seeing him in a Liverpool shirt!

Ed you don't know that for sure, lot of weird things happen and if we get top 4 i don't see why not {Ed002's Note - Oezil will not be moving to Liverpool in January or at the end of the season, regardless of whether there is CL football or not.}
