Having Defoe would create a problem for the summer if Liverpool were looking for a striker having already Andy Carroll + Luis Suarez + Craig Bellamy + then Defoe. One of them would have to go if another striker was coming. What would be the point to waste money in Defoe {Ed009's Note - I agree wholeheartedly.}

just wondering in your personal opinion who is more likely to sign Jermaine defoe or david texeira also who is better {Ed009's Note - perhaps a 33/100 for Defoe and a 28/100 for Texeira. as kenny has said we conduct are dealings behind closed doors and most probably all these will have been completed before tonights game .
liverpool will not want anything to distract us from tonights game so if we do get somebody it will be announced after the game.

He is not injured.. Kenny just feels that he needs a rest after starting so many games considering he has just got back from a second long term injury it seems the most sensible thing to do. Foolish Ed0029.... {Ed029's Note - I thought it was precautionary because of the nick he picked up from the Man U game before he was substituted, but happy to be proven wrong. It is unlikely that he wouldn't have gone with the team if he was merely rested though, hence why I think it is an injury}

If we have no intention of playing him then there would be little need to include him in the squad... If you have no intention of having a teacher teach a class you don't have them come and wait in the staff room all day...

Lads I'm a regular poster and I dont say crap but, I'm staying in liverpool tonight for the match I'm in the marriott. Just arrived in Molineux (spelling) and got wifi signal, I dunno why and I am not saying its for liverpool but on the way out I seen Irish international Aidan McGeady. If he is staying there, signing for somebody or just watching a match I dunno but hand on heart I seen him at reception with a bag.

from what i can gather are signings will be danny ward (GK) Joao Texeirra (AM) Clement Chantome (DM) with either jermaine defoe or simeon jackson comming in as a extra striker, matt phillips to sign but spend rest of season on loan at blackpool

the only transfer that will be made during this window involving high profile player will be a loan deal for tevez! not what he would want top of his list or liverpools top priority but a good loan deal even though he will not be cheaop as he does regard money more importantly than footie,but could be a great chance to redeem himself if he helps us push for the cl spot. i believe liverpool bosses believe in there squad which has proved themself against chelsea,arsenal,man utd and man city! we can beat the best so why cant we beat the rest with the same team? question of the century!

Seen the Mirror reporting Adam Johnson possibly going on loan to Everton, if he's available on loan or permanent I think KK should make a move for him.

Odds on Defoe shortening by the minute, we need another striker, he wouldn't be my 1st choice, but without CL, we can't attract top talent halfway through the season which we all want. Would be a decent 4th choice striker for next season, when Cavani, Lavezzi, Higuain etc all arrive at Anfield!

Come on guys you are embarrasing yourselves and all Liverpool fans in general. Nothing is going to happen other than reserve Keepers. I think people are being a bit linear on their views of Cisse's time with the reds.

He was never wanted by Rafa. Morientes got a shedload of opportunities, whereas Cisse was often brought on at the 80 minute mark when the game was won, and the team were sitting back.
He was put on the flank and still scored about 17 goals.

I wish him well at QPR. He is a passionate player and a winner.

But I have heard that Liverpool will come in with a second bid of 8 million which will meet Blackburns asking price.

Just to confirm, dont all have to believe me, but my girlfriend works for the company who arranges all the transport for majority of celebs etc in this country.
Liverpool FC do not have any cars booked at present for any players. No-one at liverpool airport etc. She has told me she will let me know if that changes.

Was on the train from Blundlesands and Crosby to Moorfields this morning on my way to uni, packed train, and there was a fella standing next to me in a suit, red and white tie and a LFC coat, i jokingly said to him "oh hope your on your way to Melwood now to make some big signing for us!" to which he replied whilst laughing "Nooo i dont make the signings, just help check their fitness" so i said "oh okay, you going in for any special reason today then?" he laughed and replied "We will have to wait and see wont we" winked, then got off the train at Sandhills, i presume to change train ... granted this doesnt sound believable maybe, and if someone else posted it i would ignore it but hey ho make of it what you will

If the Yonks¯ do spend money you as a super fan would then expect without fail at least 4th. So that means the player they buy can't be a risk otherwise they would be deemed a failure and again the owners would be seen as not being serious because only this failure came in and not the world class talent we deserve.

There are much better investments, elsewhere where they would atleast spend money for the club to improve to compete with the bigger clubs, what have those yanks spended on the club WITH THEIR OWN MONEY?... 20 mill or 15 mill?, they have sold majority of deadwood and used the income to buy new players (which admittedly kenny has wasted it on medicores players), Eds you may disagress but as i said it before, Fsg thinks this club as a business e.g buying players based on stats, buying young players so that they can be sold in the future...
perhaps after 2 years time, they might realise that owning a club is a no win, scenario and then they can fly back to invest on something more profitable.

Hi eds,

I dont have any connections in the UK but a journalist I was speaking to last night claims he does at city.

He said that Tevez would be willing to take half the wages that he is currently paid in order to move, and while he prefers a move abroad has no problem coming to Liverpool if the option is open as his wife has no issues with Liverpool and actually quite liked the city when she once visited.

Just wondered if you know if any of this is true as I can't confirm any of it. Thanks

Manchester,liverpool pretty much the same in terms of drabness,as for wages the local tea leafs will weigh in with the diff.

We did approach City about Tevez, and there were many options offered, including a swap with Andy Carroll. City didn't bite, but Liverpool did go back with a loan offer on Sunday. That's all that's known at present. {Ed009's Note - It is not even whether you know journalists for me; but I wouldn't trust the Mirror for Sport regardless!}

Didn't he want to have his family back in the auld country? Is Liverpool closer to South America than Mancland? Who does your jounalist write for?The Big Issue?

His wife may like Liverpool but i'd check with his girlfriend first as he split from his wife last year!!

I agree that Fulham have got a great buy in Barrios- the Bundesliga is a higher standard than Ruiz was playing at, so you can't compare them really.
Barrios must be a first class striker, but maybe he doesn't have other aspects to his attacking play that KK wants to see?

Just a thought....seems Fulham are after two strikers.....could that mean that Dempsey is on the move? Would people like him at LFC? I can see the logic in it as he scores on average 1 game in 4 for club and country, works hard and would be a big draw for us in the US? at 27/28 he still has a few years in him too. Thoughts?

we are not in Europe and unless we get a
striker we will not get top 4 and so will not be in the major euro competition next season either - so difficult to attract big names in the summer too.
If Fulham would let him go he would do a perfect job for us and would certainly be better then Bent,Defoe or the status quo
