Do you think that at least one of daniel agger or martin skrtel will leave. Also do you think liverpool will actually buy joe allen as I think J.Henderson will be great this season as he already looks more confident on the ball, and if we were to get J.Allen won't that mean jordon won't get much game time.

Joe Allen wouldn't affect Henderson's position in the team I don't think. Lucas wouldnt be ready for the start of the season, so its going to be Gerrard, shelvey, Henderson and hopefully Allen who starts the campaign for us. Hopefully Lucas would be 100% for the start of September.

Would you think we would have any intrest in Kyriacos Papadopoulos from Shalke? He is only 20 and starts as a CB or CDM for a top team in Germany. Not saying he is better then Skrtel...yet, but there is no doubt in my mind he will turn out to be one of the best No-Nonsense Defenders in the world in the near future.

I was very interested in your recent comment about one of Agger or Skrtel probably leaving driven by interest in someone else - do you mean we are seeing this as an opportunity to improve or just that there are suitable alternatives for less money than we will get if we sell? Allen doesnt look any better than what we already have and at £15m looks rather overpriced imo. I agree with one of the posts above which says that we should be looking at bringing someone in who has more creativity going forward from midfield, supporting the attackers providing goals and even chipping in with some.

Recycled rubbish. Summer transfer window is when journo's have a holiday from proper reportage and just throw anything out there that has even the vaguest rumour. We've been linked with nearly 100 players this window, and there's only been real interest in 6 or 7. Allen and Dempsey are still prety much nailed on to join, with only Aquilani, Carroll and Bellamy the only one's we can say are 'likely' to move on so far. That's it!

How this even made it onto the Page is beyond me, it should be binned into Dodgy as quick as possible.
Why would one of our rivals let us have one of their best young players on loan? The only midfielder we might get from Chelsea is Benayoun again. We just have to face facts, at the minute, we have no chance at Europe's very top players (especially younger ones) as they all want CL football. Our signings this summer have proved that.

Chelsea actualy did the with courtois, they bought him from Genk (I think) then loaned him out to At. Madrid in the same transfer window. You also hear all the time of a clib buying a player but loaning him back to the club for one more season.

You are right we would. There is no way it is going to happen though. There have been a stream of rumours about him going out on loan even though he can't be loaned until January when he will be 18. There is absolutely no way he would be sold for as little as 7.5 million when Walcott commanded more than double that about three years ago. He is English and one of the top prospects in the game. In five years time he will probably be valued at £30M plus. Our owners are not daft they know that and would not sell him so cheaply now. Keep the faith it is just made up paper talk.

If I hear anything I will say - as I am sure Macca will if he can. I think Allen and Dempsey are still likely and I would not, as I have said, be surprised to see interest in Sinclair once the olympics are done. Amorebieta is attracting serious interest. Agger and Skrtel both have their admirers. I don't know about any RM player moving to Liverpool but several are available even though two have already moved. Eds what are the chances on getting Martin Olsson for left back cover. He is pretty good and young and would provide better back up than Robinson and he wants to leave so could it happen? {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware, we have shown no interest in him, and he is not better back up than Robinson! Olsson is not that good, certainly nothing like the potential of Robinson.}

The possible loan signing is Edin Dzeko. It all depends on whether we are willing to sell Agger to Man City. We are holding out for an offer exceeding £20m plus Dzeko on a season long loan with an option to buy at the end of the year. Dzeko is a short term replacement for Carroll who is on his way one way or another. If he proves his worth we will buy him, if not, we have time to sniff out a full time replacement.

I m not sure if Dzeko can be called a "star"! he has rather an ordinary season with City and does not show huge promise to do any better.
And we should be looking for a £20m fee for Agger. I have no problem other clubs wanting to buy our players. But I want proper compensation. Agger is an extremely experienced international footballer, the same goes for our other star players. I would prefer them to move abroad if they leave Liverpool.

The loan Signing is Nuri Sahin of Real Madrid. It will only happen if the Allen deal fails. Liverpool are refusing to pay over the odds for Allen and if Swansea continue with there demands, then Sahin is ready to move in for one year.

I would be gutted if Agger left as he is quality. Would much prefer skertel leaving for any price as i do not rate him anyway. I would like us to buy kjaer to partner agger as they are both young and they know each others game well. These 2 could be a good partnership for years to come.
I'm not sure how you don't rate Skrtel. He started slowly at Liverpool but anyone who has sense will vouch that Skrtel was immense last season.
You don't rate possibly our best player last year, but you want to at all costs hold on to a player that has yet to have a respectabley injury free season? It would be worth the money to cash in on Agger and let his injury woes become someone elses problem. We have alot of CB talent in the wake, and this is the season to get them familiar with the new system ASAP.

I dont rate skrtel that highly either, anyone who says he was immense last season is exaggerating, he's been consistent in terms of appearences for the club and he's played well in that time but he's not a world class centre back, nowhere near it, and definitely not in aggers class. be a massive step backwards to lose agger......for those who think skrtel world class check out his defending for drogbas second goal in the FA cup final, it just about sums him up, thats why city want to sign agger and not skrtel....YNWA
Best season for Skrtl - Agger played more games - coincidence? Skrtl average at best no other defender ends up not facing in-coming crosses so that he can grab hold of the man he is marking.
I wud like to keep both. Agger has no intention to leave for another EPL club and an improved contract offer to Skrtel will be good enough to keep him. we cannot afford to disrupt the teamwork they have developed over the years.
Agger is miles better than skrtel! would love kjear to come in and replace skrtel, however i am happy with the pairing atm!

If Agger wants to leave the club why the hell would we try to keep him? I don't believe we will sell unless we can improve the team (Hummels) or unless the players submits a transfer request as selling our best players sends out the wrong message. is this certain or is it possible to go for Kjaer if Agger leaves?

Amorebrieta isn't a very good player,he changed his nationality to Venezuela because he couldn't get in to the Spanish squad,hes dead slow as well that's why Bilbao played him on the bench towards the end of last season because his form dipped very badly

Can't say I know anything about Amorebrieta, but lets not start slating people just cause they can't get in the Spanish squad! Having said that if he is slow, he doesn't sound an adequate replacement for Agger.
Agree with other responses here, Kjaer is over rated and didn't have a very good season last year, would not be able to fill Aggers shoes. Same applies to Amorebrieta. If there isn't an adequate replacement surely we should not sell Agger?

Sky Sports reporting that Liverpool have rejected a second bid for Daniel Agger, thought to be in the region of 16 million, and are rumoured to weigh in a third bid.
Agger is definitely worth more than 16 million in my eyes, one of the classiest defenders Liverpool have had for a long time.
He is injured alot tho so might not be that bad

Neither Aquilani's or Carroll's potential transfers are mentioned on the transfer gossip section of the official site. They are as good as gone. This Liverpool supporter is not happy. We spunked 55 million quid on that pair and neither has played a lot of games. Another example of our "no idea" transfer policy!

Of course we overpaid for Carroll but we got 20m more for Torres than he was worth after 18 mths of poor form which hasn't changed since he moved club. So on that basis Carrolls true cost is 15m. Therefore if Newcastle buy him back for 20m he would have actually cost us 15m which if we subtract from Torres 50m gives us 35m which still paid for Suarez & Borini. So the Carroll transaction isn't as disastrous as is often painted when you consider the bulk of Chelsea's 50 mil still paid for TWO international strikers. The Meireles money paid for Henderson who will be a very good player for us for many years to come.

Newcastle valued carrol at 35m and we paid it, a season and a bit later after a good euros hes valued at 16.5m and a player they desperately want. My thoughts are 25m minimum or forget it. The Aqualani thing is a joke should have insisted hes valued at 15 million, we paid 20 plus million for him and the italians have taken the mick and been allowed to.
Lads, two wrongs don't make a right. It was wrong for Liverpool to pay £35m for Carroll but it would be equally wrong for Newcastle to pay £25m to get him back. He simply isn't worth it and I think £12m - £15m is the absolute tops for a player with constant question marks about his fitness, question marks about his attitude and who will most likely force his team to play in a certain way. Take the money and write it off as a harsh lesson and move on.

Ed001, is the story on the Rumours page about Liverpool making up bogus transfer stories to find a mole in the communications department true? In a way it makes sense as to how the BBC know everything first about us recently.... {Ed001's Note - I do expect someone will be getting their marching orders soon, the club's media work is a shambles, but it was speculation that it was to out a mole.}

I am friends with a Fulham player, who I shall not name. I have just spoke with him tonight and he has told me that Fulham told Clint Dempsey not to travel with the squad. Liverpool have NOT put a bid in for Dempsey as Fulham have told Dempsey they want £15million for him. Clint is fully aware that he is not worth that and the club are just being stubborn as they DO NOT want to sell him. I have been told that Fulham deliberatly left Clint behind as they knew this rumour would get out. Fulham are playing games. I have been told Clint has told Jol he wants out and it is likely Clint will get his move, after alot of Fulham digging their heels in. Liverpool is where Clint wants to be. I have also been told not to panic as there is plenty of time for the move to happen. This is not bull, this is a genuine post.

Is there on any word on Nathan Redmond, I have seen a bit of him last season and more often than not, I think he linked impressive (at times granted, he did look raw) but so did oxlade and walcott, yet arsenal did the business with them..

Which is why they will only sell him for a huge sum, from what I have seen he is not worth that much. Anyway, as of now, he is being priced out of a move, Sunderland have enquired, as have Wigan and Villa. Spurs were interested under 'Arry, no idea if AVB will maintain that interest though.}

Dempsey is very good friends with Johnson too. If Dempsey told any of his friends info, EJ would be close to top of the list.
