In response to below - what a pathetic comment; xenophobic at best probably more accurately described as racist. i suppose he doesn't like out of towners on the Kop either! Come on Ed don't let these distasteful small minded comments through they just lower the tone of what is an excellent site.

I don't want this syrian guy any where near lfc. For starters you can never trust them. Second he is from syria = hat jews / isreal when that situation goes bad liverpool goes down the tubes once again. But the fact that he is syrian and syria hates Isreal would make sense getting rid of benayoun because he is isreali.
I would like to see a individual who is a billionaire on there own and not from the middle east.

can fans stop leaping on band wagons, it smacks of the desperate|!!

Kenny Huang has today denied he has made a bid for Liverpool , he has lodged an interest in buying the club, but as yet not made any official bid.

His words not mine

Really think this takeover could drag on its all getting a bit public.
Dont like the sound of KIRDI as his vision for the club was all 5 STAR HOTELS AND SHOPPING MALLS. If anyone interested in buying us refers to the club as a brand or franchise they should be kicked out of bidding and shot.
On the positive side Rafa has gone and Stevie and Torres remains so if Roy can play a decent team in their right positions and build team confidence and spirit we may have a good season.

PS what is a Hat Jew as someone said Syrians Hat Jews are they a minority tribe in Syria famed for their milinary?

In response to Ginny's post:

"First of all, Aguero's full name is Sergio Kun Aguero, not 'ken' aguero. secondly i frankly have no ide about whats going on with the takeover. please can someone give me a straight answer about how much transfer money each party will give us if they buy us!"

Okay lets settle this once and for all Aguero's full name is Sergio Leonel Aguero Del Castillo. 'Kun' is a nickname he was given by his grandparents based on a Japanese cartoon I think. It's clear Ginny was new to the forum as he / she wasn't aware of the goings on from previous posts.

King Ken

For those who wish to do their own due diligence;

"There has been much commentary from a wide array of people, many of whom have little knowledge of the facts. Unless there is a statement that specifically comes from Mr. Huang or his authorised representatives, which presently is solely Hill & Knowlton Hong Kong office, we would suggest such comments should be given little credence."

This is what Hill & Knowlton are about i.e. just like Keith Harris's company they are 'advisors/consultants;

About Hill & Knowlton;
Hill & Knowlton, Inc. is a leading international communications consultancy, providing services to local, multinational and global clients. The firm is headquartered in New York, with 79 offices in 44 countries, as well as an extensive associate network. The agency is part of WPP, one of the world's largest communications services groups.

In short Huang has no money, he is a front man. If he's successful let's hope his promises come to fruition!

I think that 'Kun' is just a nickname anyway, something about a cartoon character i think, not actually his middle name :)

As for transfer fees no one can really know that to be honest. Only a handful of people would know anything truely about the deals, and they would not divulge any details such as transfer fees at this stage. To be honest even if we were taken over tomorrow it is unlikely the transfer budget would be announced as it allows other teams more room to barter. Any amoutns you hear would just be estimates.

The best thing to do is to just wait fingers crossed we it gets done before the window closes, and some sensible signings are made, players who want to play for the club not for money.

"please can someone give me a straight answer about how much transfer money each party will give us if they buy us!"

Sorry no one can tell you that!!
Maybe one or more parties biding for Liverpool are just trying to sweet talk us!

from what ive heard there are 6 groups in the running to buy over the club, two of what are named kenny huang (?) and kirdi. the yanks only get a small say in the take over so do C. Perslow,M. Broughton and the two others. ive heard they get a vote each on the take over the rest is left for the banks to decide due to the huge amount of debt owed to the banks.
also there WILL be a takeover complete by the end of august at the latest but if all goes well the next week or two should be big for liverpool football club.

YANK$ OUT !!!

Signing's are on the way boys....and Christian Poulsen is going to be the first and is just hours away from being able to call himself a Liverpool player .

Last night Poulsen's advisor, lawyer Richard Bonnesen took a plane to Liverpool to discuss the player's personal demands after Juve and Liverpool yesterday agreed a transfer fee of 6 million euros.

So depending upon personal terms the deal is up to Christian Poulsen to decide. And with him repeatedly refusing to move to Turkey, so he could secure a move to the Premier League, it is more than likely that he will sign.

Roy knows about Poulsen from his time at FC Copenhagen and it is Hodgson's insistence on doing the deal that leaves Poulsen looking forward to playing under a coach who has full confidence in him.

The preliminary negotiations with Poulsen's agent took place in Milan, which coincided with the clubs talks with Inter on Mascherano's move. But the Poulsen deal will go ahead irrespective of the Mascherano talks.

Expect Roy to confirm the interest in Poulsen at the news conference before Liverpool's European League showdown against Rabotnicki.

Happy days are here again!

Roy Hodgson is looking to bring in Ashley Young for a fee of £21million and Matieu Flamini for £8million to replace Ryan Babel who could be going in the opposite direction of Flamini for a similar fee so a straight swap deal could be likely and Javier Mascherano who is going to AC Milan's neighbours and rival's Inter Milan for around £24million.

RE THE FOLLOWING;
04 Aug 2010 21:37:30
The BBC were merely quoting from Kirdi's statement. I'll stick my neck out and say that if we have new owners in a fortnight's time, it'll be neither Kirdi nor Huang. These are two self publicizing individuals who, when called on their interest, have not committed. Sources close to Huang (i forget the exact wording) have intimated he has two talents, facilitating deals and building up his own image. Those who are genuinely serious about buying the club would not risk breaking cover to sound grandiose but would instead be diligently scrutinising the finances and trying to ascertain where they stood. I'd still bet on Al-Kharafi coming back again and one or two that no one has ever heard of.

By far the most sensible comment I've seen on this issue in a long, long time!

As per my previous comments neither of those who have put their hats into the 'public arena' will be the eventual owners.

Quote; "Seymour Pierce executive chairman Keith Harris believes a Red Knights bid for Manchester United would be pointless as the Glazers will not sell."

Harris insists "that until the Glazers are willing to listen to offers and sit down and meet prospective buyers then any thoughts of tabling a bid would be a waste of time."

"I've been around long enough in the trading business to know that for a trade to happen it requires a seller and a buyer who will meet.

United's Gill called Harris a publicity hound, although after being given the chance to respond to the allegation Harris refused to hit back.

"I wasn't involved in the Red Knights going public," he continued. "There was a reporter that got a wind of it. I don't believe in these things going public until the right moment.

"Personal assaults don't have any place in business. This is why I stayed silent on the issue."

Whoever Harris is representing it is NOT those who have already declared their interest!

But on reading this comment "Harris does believe that one day Manchester United will be part owned by the club's vast following, although he was unable to put an exact timescale on the suggestion due to the Glazers' current stance on the possibility of selling up.

"The concept of a club of that order having partial ownership by its loyal, devoted and money-paying fans is a laudable one," he concluded.

"At some stage that could happen. Predicting when it does depends on other circumstances which are not within the control of the would-be buyers, you can't say any more."

With the debt of LFC being bought out by such a benefactor, those of us fans who wanted to buy into the club may have had a chance with such 2 pronged attack on Laurel & Hardy?

I am from Liverpool and have supported our club all of my life. Any self respecting red needs to remember the team they are supporting and not where the fans come from. We are all supporting THE GREATEST CLUB in the world and in doing so help the same club profit from our own pockets. By the way the idiots who started this must be blue noses or mancs trying to cause trouble. They are even jealous because we have a rumours page all of our own. Thanks for the excellent work in doing this new page Ed.

Why is so many fans enquiring about how much transfer money the new owners will have, wise up debts cleared a new 60-70 thou stadium and more focus on youth and i will be happy, I dont want Liverpool to be a Real Madrid where we buy galaticos that have to big an ego to play for the jersey

Kenny Huang has informed LFC board he has the backing of Chinese sovereign funds. The potential spending power would be scary!! Kirdi is being used as a puppet by Gillett to salvage some profit from the sale & push up the price. However, even as shareholders both Hicks & Gillett can be easily out voted by th rest of the board.Lets hope we soon have 2 King Kenny's at Liverpool!

04 Aug 2010 22:51:34
OK, just heard a bit more news. Apparently, a few journos at the Times and Sports Intelligence have got hold of the news that the backers for Huang are CIC (China Investment Corp, the country's sovereign wealth fund) who are reputedly worth over 300 billion! Yes 300 billion! This is going to be in all the papers tomorrow. Apparently, this had NOT been denied yet. IF there is any truth in this latest rumour then this will blow all offers out of the water! No Sporting franchise in the history of ANY sport has the backing of so much wealth.
Fingers crossed it is true and double fingers crossed the deal gets done soon!
no way it's true liverpool never gets any luck. Same reason we never won the title in years. got kicked out of champions league because of that juve thing. We have these american dickheads.
go to tyhis link it is about cic 320 billion worth

04 Aug 2010 22:49:36
According to click Liverpool Kenny Huang has told the Liverpool board that he is being backed by China's largest sovereign fund in a bid to step up his pursuit of the club.

Huang issued a statement earlier today distancing himself from any bids for Liverpool with the investment arm, who have assets worth $332billion (£208bn), keen to tie up a deal in principal before the end of the month away from the media spotlight.

The Chinese businessman confirmed his interest in Liverpool but has yet to provide proof of CIC's funding to the board of Kop Holdings - the club's parent company before they can be considered as serious contenders to succeed George Gillett and Tom Hicks as owners.

Full PR battle in effect!!

ok no im not sum1 who works at anfield or has a source , just who i think will come in if liverpool get taken over by the end of the transfer window i think aguero ,poulsen and either salcido , bridge or lopez thats it for this transfer window but expect more in january

04 Aug 2010 22:42:40
MY SOURCES very close to LFC tell me that the new take over but wont tell me who for image rights will give RH 50-60 million for the first two years but want the acedamy to be producing real quality in a few years and allow the recent quailty of pacheho suso and ammo to develop until then. IF these players dont succeed then they will still pump money in the squad but by then 20-40 million as the squad will be incredebly strong by then. I only tell the truth!

qhy does every liverpool fan seem to want 50 mids. WE HAVE GERRARD aqua lucas masch and youingster like spearing plesis if we do a 4-4-2 we will have 2 great back ups and 2 good prospects we don't need poulsen and defour we need strikers. Sell masch buy higuain and then aguero

04 Aug 2010 22:39:14
Sergio Leonel Aguero's name is not 'either Ken or Kun. His fans have just nicknamed him 'Kun' because he is said to look like a popular Japanese cartoon character of that name. So simply 'Aguero' should be good enough from now on.

P.S. I would like a Ken Aguero T-shirt asap please

Kenny Huang has told the Liverpool board that he is being backed by China's largest sovereign fund in a bid to step up his pursuit of the club. The former Wall Street stockbroker has now confirmed to Anfield chiefs, including chairman Martin Broughton, that his benefactors are the China Investment Corporation (CIC).Who have assets worth £208bn, This would make liverpool by far the richest club in the world by miles and the possibilities would be endless .

away from all the transfer guff i keep seeing posts about possible LFC lineups and a considerable amount have Aquilani along side Gerrard.... am i the only person who feels Shelvey looks more like an LFC player than Aquilani could ever hope to be?? I think Shelvey looked comfortable and assured on the ball.... Aquilani lacks pace and strength two key attributes for the EPL... does anyone else agree?

I think all posts responding to the couple of PR*ICKS who posted about the so called woolie/non scousers fans, have to reseed as we have more important things to talk about i.e Player and Takeover rumours.

I'm supprised how many have given these stupid, senseless, idioctic and childish comments so much of your attention. According to their accounts me myself am a woolie/non scouser. They probably arn't even LFC fans as real LFC fans would never say the rubbish they did (no matter where your from).

RE-okay could someone please explain to me the yahya khirdi bid to buy the club please? as far as im aware his company have been put in place by Hicks and Gillett and are certainly not the best for club. as according to the BBC website the deal is now all but completed."
its been put in place by G&H because they will make profit from it...because they will pay over the odds...the thing that concerns me is not kirdi himself, its that he is fronting the bid for 'a group of canadian' buisness men.....im reading everywere is that his backers are from the middle east...there not...its canada and kirdi, and some guy who played for celtic!!

OK here is the story I have heard about the supposed buy-out of Liverpool FC.
Firstly, Huang is STILL in the driving seat. He has intimated the best scenario all round. Total debt repayment, new stadium, substantial transfer funds. However, he is not prepared to pay H&G a penny for the club because he believes that whilst the club is in debt totalling over £300 million then the club is only worth that debt - hence no offer - as yet on the table. He has met with the FA and they have obviously carried out checks on him to make sure he can raise the money he claims he can. Up to now the FA have not said he cannot do this.
Hicks is in dire financial trouble and is desperate to sell LFC at a good profit to help bail him out. Gillette is in an even worse state than Hicks and is seriously in danger of going backrupt - something that would not please RBS!
However, he is fighting dirty and he is doing everything in his power to stop Huang taking control of LFC because he knows he will not make a penny. He has had people research Huang's background to try to find a few skeleton's in the cupboard and he is doing his best to make count-bids via this Kirdi fella. The bid is total bullsh*t and not a patch on what Huang is offering. Kirdi bid will still mean Liverpool are in debt and frankly I don't think it is a serious offer despite the garage being spouted on other web sites.
Hicks and Gillette CANNOT sell the club without the permission of Broughton, Purslow and Ayres and they have to better the offer that Huang is proposing.
Huang went public with his interest in LFC so that us fans KNOW what he is offering and to FORCE Broughton NOT to sell LFC short. If all the bids were totally secret then how would LFC fans know who made the best bid (according to Broughton's initial demands - remember not necessarily the highest bid but the best bid for the club etc) only the Broughton, Purslow and Ayres and well as H&G would know. By Huang making known his intentions he has forced Broughton to be transparent - so if he accepts a lesser offer than - Full debt repayment, a new stadium and substantial transfer funds - then we would know that he has cheated the Liverpool fans out of the best deal and his reputation would be in tatters! Also just think a bit of common sense - why is this Kirdi fella telling everyone a deal is almost done etc etc. Why not just do the deal - then tell everyone! Simply because he is trying to bump up the price of LFC with a bit of brinkmanship. The Kirdi story broke last night about 2am when someone from the Kirdi group sent an email to a "no-mark" journalist at Sky tell them a deal is almost done with H&G etc etc. Why send an email to a run-of-the-mill journalist at 2am announcing a deal is ALMOST done. Why not just hold a big press conference when the deal IS done. It is all total b*llocks. My money is still on Huang and hopefully H&G will get their fingers seriously burned.

Please let this be true, Kenny is far the best option and i can see the 2 yank muppets goin down the line of purposefully trying to give Liverpool the wrong new owners just to be spitefull and bitter and twisted and have the last say and make money at the clubs expense all because they know how hated and despised they are to ALL LFC fans!!

No Sporting franchise in the history of ANY sport has the backing of so much wealth.
Fingers crossed it is true and double fingers crossed the deal gets done soon!

SHANKLY NOT A TRUE RED HERO!!

Breaking news Shanks statue is to be ripped down by militant scousers who say anyone outside the city cannot support the club! The new RED ORDER will seek to re establish the club as a small provincial club and remove the UNLIVERPOOL GLOBAL REVENUE created by the Reds current massive fanbase. Its unclear as yet as to how scousers who leave the city will be effected by the new rules or how long one has to live in the city to gain full scouser citizenship. King Kenny will be hounded out off the city limits and stripped of club membership after background checks revealed he was not a scouser. If the new order succeeds LFC will be built around the Everton model of a small inward and bitter fan base.

Not a rumour, but I wouldn't mind seeing Bellamy back at Anfield. Blistering pace and scores some good goals. And premiership proven and would cost around 6mill. Also poulsen at 6mill would be a snip. Get rid of masch for 25mill. If new owners come in then with cash, put in offer for Aguero.

04 Aug 2010 21:22:01
Not a rumour, but an observation.

The average age of the Liverpool XI that played Tranmere yesterday was only 17 and looked like a quality side. Amoo who has already impressed in pre-season looked good again. Tom Ince looked handy on the wing as did Bruna when he came on. Silva had a great start when he came on but faded a bit throughout the half but without a shadow of a doubt the best player in show was Jesus "Susu" Fernadez. He was magnificent in midfield and showed amazing vision. This guy looks the real deal and can't wait to see what he is like in a couple of years.

I would love to see a few of these young players given a chance in the Carling cup. We could have some real gems in there!

Thanks for the site Ed!

Im gunna buy a Ken Aguero T-shirt.

OOOOO I cant wait......I havn't been this excited for years....since the eve of our last CL win infact. I hope thats a good omen.

Whoever our next owners are the only really important things are that they love this club as much as we the fans do and that they are honourable people with honourable intentions (unlike the current pair of dishonourable xxxxxxxxxxs).

I love this club! I love all our players past and present (even the less than successfull ones) and I love every single one of the fans (even the ones that bang on about out of towners). Please dont try and assert that because I am from out of town I some how dont have the right to love this club or visit Anfield it ammounts to saying that you love your girlfriend/wife/kids/husband more than I/we do.....obviously a hurtful thing to say and also something that no human being could say of another (no one can read my heart or mind).

Does anyone know where these Alonso rumours have come from?.... I would love to see him back home but think it's unlikely just cause of the saying that there is in footballing circles about never going back.

Yahya Kirdi is in advance negotiations with liverpool over the sale of the club. He wants to make liverpool a solid foundation again with no debt and new stadium with money for funds..but the money will be 15-20 million as hes only a millionaire. You might want to add a backup goalie and a RB (Kelly) to your projected bench. With the players we currently have, I like:

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Aurelio
Lucas
Cole Gerrard Aquilani Jovanovic
Torres

So when Masherano leaves Poulsen looks likley to replace him .

my view is that the chinese bid is for a stake in the image rights of the club. This would be very profitable for all concerned but the investment into the debt would be repaid 10 fold if we successfully conquered and would be massive for all parties. The yirdi bid is for complete control of the club and is brought together with huge financial clout of a number of businessmen most of which are based in the middle east. The fact that a number of representatives are canadian should not put us off.

Yirdi couldnt afford the club on his own by any stretch but lets face it he is the front just like McManaman was for Birmingham and as other professionals have been in the past, including Niall Quinn at Sunderland. keep the faith this is a really good opportunity. I would also imagine that the chinese bid will manifest itself again this week and in reality may end up being formed as part of the Yirdi takeover.

Good man, nice to see a bit of common sense being talked for a change. You need to join anfieldroad.com forum's and cheer them up a bit there. Talk about doom & gloom, pro Rafa & Purslow is the antichrist, Roy is just a yes man etc etc. Tell Jim that Joe said hello.

"04 Aug 2010 18:44:44
okay could someone please explain to me the yahya khirdi bid to buy the club please? as far as im aware his company have been put in place by Hicks and Gillett and are certainly not the best for club. as according to the BBC website the deal is now all but completed."

04 Aug 2010 20:14:22

A very reliable source tells me that Roy Hodgson has been told that a takeover is imminent before the transfer shuts and he has drawn up a list of separate transfer targets should a deal go through soon to buy the club.I am told that Roy Hodgson is likely to make at least one Marquee signing before the end of the transfer window. My source tells me that he has heard whispers of moves for Van der Vaart,Sergio Aquero,Diego Forlan and Cheilleni.Only 1 or mabye 2 at most of these players could be signed. My source also says that Christian Poulsen will be signed by the end of the week and that there has been brief discussions with Inter Milan over the sale of Javier Mascherano.

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has admitted he is interested in signing Juventus' Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen.

The Reds have been strongly linked with a move for Poulsen as they consider replacements for wantaway midfielder Javier Mascherano.

Juventus are thought to be willing to let Poulsen move on as he is currently down the pecking order in new coach Luigi Del Neri's plans.

Hodgson is a big fan of Poulsen having worked with him during his time in charge of FC Copenhagen and he feels he would be a valuable addition to his squad at Anfield.

"If we can sign him from Juventus at a price I consider reasonable, he will be a very good player to bring into our team," Hodgson told Ekstra Bladet.

"Christian is a player I know well, a player whose career I actually kick-started many years ago and I have followed him closely ever since."

people who support liverpool have every right to go to matches where ever they live and support the team people who think they shouldn't should get lost you are not welcome in the family of liverpool football club we are one team one stadium and one family we remember are motto you'll never walk alone.

liverpool fans stick together and i like going the game at anfield because you sit to different people each match and they all have different stories on how they have travelled the game. also in the pubs in the albert the away fans go in and the atmosphere is electric.

the many problem for liverpool fans is the season ticket waiting list this needs to be sorted when the stadium is bulit i want it to be bigger than 60 thousand make it 80 thousand all seater and more space for advertising and more lounges and boxes.

if you get the corporate business people in vip boxes their will be more seats as well for normal fans.

we never walk alone

Most of what is published in the press is absolute trash. Two prime examples this summer are the rumours about Gerrard and Torres going. Both were crap as was the reports that Cole was not interested in joining the club. As many of us know papers and websites often print knowingly false information just to get people to read them and even more so in the summer. On the takeover front we have conflicting reports about Huang and others. Cuting through the crap the only information I would take as meaningful (highly meaningful ) are those comments made by the chairman who has been appointed to facilitate a sale of the club. In early July he said that bids were due in by mid July. This week he confirmed that there had been several bids and that a preferred bidder will be chosen by the end of next week. Anything else is paper speculation. The chairman's words clearly indicate that a deal is not too far off. There is a possibility that a deal might just be done before the end of the transfer window, it's going to be tight though. We all want this but the bigger picture point is the long term wellbeing of the club. That the right party buys the club is crucial to this.. Good times will then lie ahead for sure. It has already been a fantastic summer n turns of developments at the club. A manager with old style values has thankfully been installed (leaks and rants was never the Liverpool way FACT!). The club is now filed with optimism. Stifling tactics will I ma sure be replaced with attacking minded football. For the first time in a while we can see real talent from the reserves beginning to emerge. The likes of Pacheco & Kelly are ready. Quality youngsters in Wilson and Shelvey are also ready to make stake for a place (IMO at 18 Shelvey is better than Gerrard was at his age) . There are also two undoubted top top top prospects in Jesus Fernandez and Rahim Sterling who will be knocking on the door in a couple of years time. We are at the dawn of a brighter future and are on the up. Reality Red

Reality i totally agree with you especially about Shelvey he was great. He made Stevie look average playing along side him in the centre.

Roy Hodgson has today admitted again that Javier Mascherano wants out but he has also admitted Liverpool have not recieved any offers and I expect if the offer is not over £23m it will be rejected, there have been so many names mentioned as potential replacements but I really hope its not Gilberto Silva or Christian Poulsen.Lassana Diarra,Mathieu Flamini,Ever Banega,Scott Parker and Lee Cattermole would all be able to do Mascherano's job in my eyes however a lot of these players have different qualities they would all be good signings and Flamini could be an absolute bargain with rumours that Milan are willing to let him go for around £6or7million.Lassana Diarra would probably be the best direct replacement and along with Lee Cattermole is the player most like mascherano.

Just a brief update on the Liverpool takeover saga and my previous comments on those who have already put themselves up to be the new owners as no-hopers:

Keith Harris (a Manchester United fan) and head of investment bank Seymour Pierce, (the guys who got Randy Lerner Aston Villa) says there are still other interested parties looking at the club BEYOND Yahya Kirdi and Kenneth Huang. He also says the money these guys are talking about 'undervalues' the club and he expects it to go for much more than the figures being quoted.

"All I am prepared to say is we've looked at it very carefully on behalf of our would-be buyers, who we know are very serious, we know are cash-rich, we know have the right incentive to do it, the right motivation to do it, we know are willing to pay the realistic price, and are prepared to take a long-term view. I can't say any more at the moment. We have represented a buyer in the past and that is an ongoing situation."

Please also note that these guys also refuse to identify their 'buyer' which falls in-line with the confidentiality clauses imposed and which both the Kirdi & Huang groups have flouted!

The good times are about to return to Anfield and ALL red supporters.

04 Aug 2010 19:06:14
Who are these clowns who are saying that the kop should only contain real scousers. If it wasnt for the worldwide support which Liverpool gets from dozens of countries the club would not be where it is today. If it was only scousers supporting the club then the club would drift away into the non-leagues. The club would not generate the turnover it does nor would any big stars be signing. So all you ignorant scouse tools out there open your eeyes and remember that LFC needs its oversea's support.

I thought Ken Aguero was trying to flog used vacuum cleaners round Merseyside?? Mistake me if I'm wrong but it's only for a while seems to me Manchester City are now chasing him because there's been so much Hoo-Haa about him. Ed - Please stop this out of town liverpool supporters depate. It will just turn this forum into what other decent forums have become (A playground for attention seeking kids (or lonely adults). The only reason somebody brings up the ban OOTs from the kop is to get people protesting. Please don't allow the debate as it is futile and really old hat now. Let this continue to be about rumours.

04 Aug 2010 18:16:31
The ongoing debate on this site concerning if non-scouse fans should be allowed on the Kop makes me laugh - I am a passionate, loyal Liverpool fan and have been for the entire 38 years of my life (well, as much of it as I can remember) and will challenge anyone who thinks they know more about the clubs history, or, more importantly, support the team with the same unwaveriing passion - but I live, and always have, in Oxford.
I used to be a regular visitor to both Anfield, away games and european games, but, in recent years, have not seen as many games as I like due to cost and the fact tickets are hard to come by -- Does this therefore make me any less of a fan than a season ticket holder who lives round the corner?? I don't think so.
Maybe those moaning that 'outsiders' should be baneed should do two things - 1) Turn up to EVERY game (so we dont see Anfield half empty on a Carling Cup night) and 2) Concentrate on making Anfield great once again - The atmosphere at times is poor - Highbury the library springs to mind

ok lets all settle down and take a step back eh!
only a few days ago we were all wondering where the "interested parties" who would be making bids where coming from and we were all getting a little anxious, now suddenly theres upto 6 potential suitors with at least 2 of these considered serious bidders. Now were buying messi and alike, building state of the art stadiums and cornering the unexploited markets in the far east to become the worlds richest football club.....
things are obviously happening behind closed doors and leaks appear to be sprouting left, right and centre.Yet we should all remain cautious as ive never witnessed a slicker PR offensive as the one used by the lying cowboys H+G!Who promised similar investment and the infamous "shovell in the ground within 60 days" routine....
we are all on the edge of are seats awaiting the outcome of this painful episode, but lets be honest all we want is to be debt free, new stadium UNDERWAY and to be competitive in the transfer market!
we dont need untold riches as we have something that all the money in the world cannot buy.........
WE ARE LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB!

Fellow Kopites,

Exciting times seem to be ahead- but my concern is Hodgson openly stating that he does not get involved in transfer targets- his job is to coach the team....

What does Purslow know about footballing talent?
Sure - RH is right not to get into a control freak mode like Rafa did, but the fans want to know who Hodgson rates and who he identifies as targets.

We were meant to have 15m kitty plus player sales. so at the minute we have 24m and our biggest news has been the fact our 2 best players arent leaving and that we have acquired 2 decent free transfers!

Come on Roooooooy, give us something to get excited about.

good job ed. but ed, where have you been lately? some of our fans' questions left unanswered.......................

04 Aug 2010 17:45:18
My brother in law works in the HR department at LFC and he has told me that although there are a number of approaches to buy the club, the only official bid is from Yahya Kirdi and his backers. The Yanks and Broughton are keen to take the offer, which is for £450M (inc Debt) as it leaves them with some profit from their initial investment.

There will be a limited transfer budget (nowhere near enough to secure Messi!) and this will be supplemented by the inevitable sale of Masch for approx £24m.

Roy's targets remain mainly English or those with EPL experience. Top of the list remains a LB, which will be Figuero as Liverpool will not match Man City's valuation of Bridge or his inflated wages.

Roy has decided to give youth a chance and will promote from within as much as possible. However, a right sided attacker (probably SWP) and another proven striker such as Crouch will be targeted.

listern lads like you i am a massive liverpool fan and have been for meny years now what i personally want to see at the club is that we dont go round flaunting massive amounts of money like chelsea man city utd because its been proven that money dont buy you class all the time look what happend at real a few sessons back thay had all the stars and didnt acheve same as chelsea also you have to have the right mix we need to buy sensible and roy will do just that we already have our superstars in stevie g and torres cole will add to that but do we really need the likes of maybe kaka i dont think so.
benaga yes
forlan yes
ireland yes all good players but super stars no! the right balance is what liverpool football club needs as well as a board that has the right attitude and backing of the fans

In my humble opinion, the only problem with a takeover is the fact that the price we will pay for players will shoot up higher than it should. Clubs will see Liverpool as the new cash cow they can milk. Happened to Chelski, Citeh & even Man-Ure when "The American Leprchaun" took over.

Ed- Thanks for this separate Liverpool page, it's as if you read my mind. Would I be selfish to state that I'm only interested in Liverpool rumours on this site?

dear ed just in from work and read all the rumours from today cant believe all this crap about get non scousers off the kop. I posted this morning about scouse wit on the kop in the 60s and outside people wanting to be part of it and the atmosphere not being the same. I just hope people are not directing these comments at me as i think everybody is very welcome on the kop,all i was suggesting was everybody raise their scarves and sing instead of looking and admiring what s going on around them. after all we are all liverpudlians together so i for one wasnt suggesting keeping any so called outsiders off the kop.My brother in law purchases tickets for 20-30 irish supporters nearly every home game.this is only my 3rd comment and my initial rumour about the abu dabi group does seem to have something behind it. redbazza

sorry for my ignorance, but can anyone tell me what a wooly back is,i get to anfield bout 5 times a year,im irish, and it costs me a fortune, probably could buy 3 season tickets for the 5 trips over, but its worth it because of the love i have for the club.most the locals are very happy to have us,but you do get the odd "out of towner or"daytripper comment"some in good humour others a bit aggressive but you do your best to ignore it.i do acknowledge that some supporters need to be educated the liverpool way, because i have seen some people bring copies of the s*n into anfield.but instead of having a go maybe next time you could explain to that person why he shouldnt do things like that and educate him in the "liverpool way.god knows in these uncertain times at the club surely out of towner or not we need to all stick together.

Messi is not a transfer target. A source close to Kenny Huang said that if he was to take over no player would be off limits, even if it was Messi. This doesn't mean that we are going to buy Messi. Barca would never accept an offer and if they did, Messi would never want to leave.

Roy has said Agger is injured for tomorrows match, and the dutch and spanish world cup players will not be playing.

Lot happier with how things have gone since the last game of the season.
Been totally impressed with Roy. Glad we have kept Gerrard and Torres (No matter whether he really wanted to or not). Pleased to see Cole join too. Someone creativity other than gerrard at last. Laughable that Carlo reckons that Benayoun is technically better....
Worried about the injury rates Cole and Torres have.

Don't think Roy will be planning any BIG money spending as there is no guarantee that a buy out will happen in time for start of the season.

Also it looks like Roy prefers experienced players, namely with premier league experience.

Resigning Fabio was interesting... Probably cover if he can sign a LB.

In terms of priority I reckon he is thinking:

Striker/ Centre forward - Crouch (£8M) (Rumours Spurs are looking to sell first before spending)
Left Back - Figueroa (£6M)
Centre mid - Parker (£10M) (West Ham want to raise funds to sell & Parker might just fancy one last bite at a chance of winning something at 29 yrs old)
Winger - Ashley Young (£18 M) (Not sure all is cosy at Villa Park... Might play to Roy's plan)

Take the £20M in funds plus another potential £20M for Masch and it could be possible......

I cannot see him taking a risk on youngsters who have not played in the league.... Maybe after the club is sold but I don't think he can afford that luxury for his sake.

I'd just like to point out a few things.
1. Carlo Ancelotti said that Cole was technically better than Yossi, but Yossi is TACTICALLY better. Still wrong in my opinion though.
2. If you look at Torres' record at Liverpool in his 3 years here he player over 40 games the first season and just under 40 in his 2nd. It as only last season he really struggled with injury due to not having a proper rest since he's been here.
3. The FA, who now need to know about a change in ownership 10 days before it happens, have stated that the takeover is imminent, so I expect to see it done coming into the final week of the window.
4. Crouchy will not re-sign. Redknapp has said he wants to keep him. Keane will be leaving but it isn't likely he'll be re-signing any time soon.
5. We won't be signing a LB. The Insua deal was already in place when Hodgson took over and would like him to stay. Also, with the re-signing of Aurelio that leaves us with both Fabio and Insua. Haters remember that Emiliano is only young and was thrusted into the mix of things through injury and our own wanting as the season before last he was better than Dossena.
6. Parker won't leave the Hammers. Known fact. He isn't for sale, stated by Sullivan and Gold at the end of the season, he is the only West Ham player that is unavailable, a point they made again when Tottenham enquired about his availability.
7. Young will not join. If anyone does it will be Milner who has said he's admired Liverpool since he was a kid and it would be a dream to play for them. This will probably be a deal done when Liverpool are taken over.

For me I see Defour, Miner, Turan and Remy joining, with the addition of 1 or 2 English lads. Sales will probably be Degen, Maxi, Babel and Mascherano.

ok lets all settle down and take a step back eh!
only a few days ago we were all wondering where the "interested parties" who would be making bids where coming from and we were all getting a little anxious, now suddenly theres upto 6 potential suitors with at least 2 of these considered serious bidders.
WE ARE LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB!
and by the way of regards to a couple of clowns ive read on here spouting b***ocks about scousers only on the kop? anyone who loves are club like we do is more than welcome in are city,at are ground or even round are house... so give ya head a wobble donut, are supporters from outside the city limits are no less or no more priviliged to support are team than those of us born and raised a stones throw from the ground........I, like the vast majority of scouse reds, am proud of are loyal worldwide support wherever your from.......

LFC have put forward to the premier league up to four different bids for the club each will be approved/declined by the PL in its own right. This will speed up the process once a bid is selected by the board, meaning as soon as a decision is confirmed the new owner(s) will be able to hand Woy funds for the transfer window.
Nobody, as yet is sure which bid will be selected. The stuff in the press is just propaganda by two of the bidders, there are two (minimum) other silent bidders who are still in contention.
Suso going nowhere, he's 16 and been promoted to the reserves missing out the under 18 team on his fast-track to the 1st team squad next season. Pacheco is also staying, very likely to be included tomorrow night given his form this summer for spain. He is considered a very very bright prospect for the LFC first XI this season.

04 Aug 2010 17:07:31
I've just been informed by my source at anfield that the takeover of Liverpool Football Club will be confirmed on Friday 13th August, by who my source could not confirm.
When taken over Liverpool will announce signings of ashley young, peter crouch and arda turan. Also Emiliano Insua has been told he is in Roy's plans and will battle for a first team place with resigned Fabio Aurelio. Times have changed at anfield and things are starting to look up for the reds, with abit of luck this season we could do well. Come on you reds, YNWA!

Personally, i hope Kenny Huang is the one to buy the club, as i dont trust anyone involved with H&G. Id also rather have him because as we have seen from the past, partnerships (although may offer more money) dont always work out well. But i guess none of us will know who it is untill the day it happens.

When the owner does come in (hopefully before the 31st August) you normally expect them to give the current manager money for transfers, i have heard Kenny Huang would be very keen to give Roy Hodgson a big transfer kitty.

I wouldn't expect Roy to go out and splash the cash on lots of big name players like City and Chelsea have in the past, i believe we only need a few players for us to be back up challenging for the League.

Players i expect to see Roy look into are:
- Turan - highly recommended, only reason why i think Roy hasnt made a move yet is due to lack of funds
Poulsen/Banega/Defour (replacements for Masch) - all good players who can do a very god job in Masch's position (Poulsen favourite at the moment, only due to small price tag - 6m)
Figuero - i think he is already favourite for the LB position, with or without new owners.

This leaves CF and LM, personally i dont know who RH would go for if he had the funds, everybody says Aguero but i cannot see that happening this season.

I guess only time will tell...

04 Aug 2010 16:58:06
Liverpool will not have a massive budget so these are the transfers I think will happen. I think Liverpool will sign a cm, a winger and a back up striker.
cm-poulsen-6million(most likely) or banega-12million(would prefer banega)
winger-turan-12million or a.young-20mil(turan most likely as we don't have the money for young unless we get taken over)
fw-loic remy-10mil or huntelaar-12mil(remy most likely).
If we do get taken over before the end of the transfer window we might go for a left back.maybe coentrao for 18mil however that is highly unlikely.

in roy we trust.

I have lived in Liverpool all my life - and have supported the reds for over 50 years. I have never heard anybody say that people who aren't from the city - or even this country - are not true reds. Go into town on a Friday night before a weekend and the bars are chocker with people from all over Europe who are in the city for the match. This is great for the club and great for the city. Anyone saying diferent is not a Liverpool supporter and has a different agenda.

I am from Ireland and i know people who travel over every home game and other people who travel when they can, and this is not cheap, think of it this way for us to vist anfield 3 times in a season is the same price as a season ticket. please people dont say were not true supporters. we buy all the official merchandise, join supporters clubs purchase weekly magazines etc etc we put our money in where we can as do people all over the world. Good luck to any club that just has its own city as supporters as no club would survive in the big time without worldwide support. so thanks to the person who posted above and not shutting us supporters out. Good times for LFC ahead,

IRWT asked at 04 Aug 2010 15:38:30:

"Now from what I can gather the bid from Kenny Huang will ultimately purchase the debt from RBS."

I would have thought he has a near zip chance, but go on...

"So am I right in thinking that by doing this he wont have actually purchased the club from 'Dumb' and 'Dumber' but merely purchased "their debt", this will endeavour to give him a huge controlling factor in the running of the club but we will not have actually got rid of the Yanks."

Correct.

"So if this deal does go through as proposed, what further steps would have to be made to get the 2 t**ts out for good?"

I would guess his plan would be to call in the debt, they would then ask BarCap to refinance the debt, they would agree and another few months would slip by. Alternatively, he could try calling in the debt and they could kick off proceedings against him dragging everyone's sorry asses through the legal system for a while.

"Also, would this then mean that them money grabbing b**tards will actually owe the club money? (Now there's a thought - we could actually get great rewards in this, by exploiting the fact that the Yanks owe us the money, what a turn around)."

No - I guess you have misunderstood something here.

Felllow Liverpool Supporters i have got some really bad news to share.. Its regarding the legend which is Ken Augero..

According to SSN reports KEN has been arrested for fraud. Ken was walking up Albert dock when he was approached to buy some Salt and Vinegars look i know what you are all thinking KEN.. bollocks hes a smokey bacon man why would he be buying S&Vs. Well here is where the fraud comes in he has been in contact with a certin club in Ireland called Tayto so ken was to be the face of the Smokeybacon brand. Tayto had sent over some spys while he is in Liverpool to make sure he wasnt indulging in them S&Vs as part of his contract he can only have smokey bacon. Bad times ahead for KEN.. On a brighter note KUN might come instead.

Its understood that KEN is looking at a heafty sentance and the chances of KEN signing for Liverpool are now slim and none. Ultimatly

"I also think that the club are strategically releasing details of the supposed 6 bidders in drips so that the fans will be aware of who was in the running before the actual owneers are announced. That in my opinion is a good PR move as it makes us fans feel that we have been kept informed and all the time it keeps LFC in the press..."

It is certainly not the club releasing details of any bidders. The declarations so far are from the self-publicizing Huang who does not seem even close to being a viable option and the Syrian-Canadian folk who may well have an ulterior motive. The statement from Harris said nothing useful at all and seems to be fallout from a seprate interview.

Long time lurker, first time poster! Great site ed and a great addition! ;)

Firstly, did noone suspect that the 'only people from Liverpool should sit in the kop' post was someone merely trying to bait posters here into a argument? Seems to have got a big enough reaction!

Secondly, this is an exciting time for us and we deserve something to get us excited for the new season after last years disappointment! Keep an open mind folks, but don't expect miracles like messi etc!. We have a great manger in Roy who will get the players he needs to get us back in the hunt & so far so good!

Chinese businessman Kenny Huang has confirmed his interest in investing in Liverpool, but says he has not made a formal offer for the club.

Huang, who is the founder and chairman of Hong Kong-based investment company QSL Sports Ltd, has been linked with a bid to buy out Liverpool's debt.

Current Liverpool owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks are looking to sell and several parties are reportedly interested in a takeover.

However, in a statement released to The Sport Briefing by Huang's representatives, the QSL chief has stated that reports of an official bid are premature.

this is not true he has made a formal bid but is all behind the scenes

What really does my head in at the match, is when people and sorry usually non-scousers. (from my observations)

a, don't sing YNWA or if they do, they don't know the words.
b,take bloody photos during our anthem.
c, talk about there cars, house or whatever and not actually watch the game.
d, slag our players off, ok some are not great, ( I,m not naming anyone) but your supposed to support your team.

So really all I want is fans who want to support our team, through storms with heads held high, I don't care where your from.

What i think he will do if he has quite a bit of money is he will buy kaka and defour and a striker also a winger and wait to see for a left back and will buy hangeland next season for carragher replacement :( i think the team will be:

reina

Cole gerrard turan or young

kaka
torres forlan or aguero or hunterlar

The whole 25man sqaud i belive will be very attacking

Kenny Huang said that roy hodgson could buy ANYONE he wanted if he owned Liverpool.

He was quoted as saying he would buy liverpool a "galaxy of superstars"

So basically anyone roy wanted, he would ask roy what player he would want, so lets say messi for example,

kenny would ring up barca ask how much would they sell messi for,

if barca say no, kenny will simply match messi's release clause.

i would rather take kenny over kyrdi, that kyrdi looks like a dodgy fella, with the potential to do worse than the yanks!

I think you will find that Blair Mayne's opinion is more valued than yours, as at least he can structure a sentence and even spell, both of which you appear to struggle on. If you don't like people having viewpoint's feel free to move to North Korea, or just don't come on the website?

I feel we will have new owners by the end of the transfer window. However, i do not feel it will leave enough time to get the right deals on players, and i dont believe on paying over the odds. Two players i would love to see playing for the mighty reds would be Aguero and Turan.

not a rumour but fact look out for the name of suso being a top player for lfc over the coming seasons he is a great prospect goin be better than messi

I never agree with this "going to be better than..." stuff BUT Suso looks exceptional, maybe even more potential than Pacheco; both are here already so let's stop this buy "Messi and Aguero" stuff. Do things the Liverpool way. Gives one such a warm feeling having 2 potential Spanish superstars in our ranks - at worst we sell them to Barca for massive amounts, rather than paying Barca massive amounts for Messi!

My preferred starting XI

Reina
Johnson - Carra - Agger - Insua
Aquilani - Poulsen
Cole - Gerrard - Jovanovic
Torres

I've just read an article on Keith Harris and Seymour Pierce and it said that Keith Harris was representing QIA in the deal to buy Everton (remember) If this is true then maybe just maybe he is acting on behalf of QIA and James 007 was right all along!

Blair Mayne YNWA

I hope not, their only worth a measly $62 Billion! LOL

About the Liverpool supporter debate, i used to work in China, and i knew a Chinese guy that once a year makes a 14,000 mile round trip just to watch his beloved Liverpool play one game! He isn't rich, it cost him almost one months wages! Are you going to say he can no longer be a fan due to his place of birth? Everton don't have fans like this, that's why their a small club!

Love this site ED, Thanks!

Whooaa!! ??

When did all this rubbish start about "Scousers" only in the Kop?

I thought we were ALL supposed to be LFC supporters? I am Liverpool born and bred and couldn't give a rats ass where you come from. If you support LFC you're alright by me!!

I have been going the game since I was 9 (am now 39!!) people coming to the match have changed, but so has footy... i'd rather the Kop was still standing as well but it's not going to happen... so will people stop having a go at where you come from and just support our glorious club !

And just for good measure i was standing in the Kop in 1992 when we hosted manure (2-0 win and LEEDS won the League)...anyway 4 blokes next me where "woolly backs" and they had no voices left at the end of that match (seem to remember Pallister getting his foot knackered... blood everywhere!)..anyway point being those lads had just as much right to be there as me!

benaga yes
forlan yes
ireland yes all good players but super stars no! the right balance is what liverpool football club needs as well as a board that has the right attitude and backing of the fans

I hate to see guys on here claiming to be bigger & better supporters of LFC just because they live in Liverpool.

Can i has two questions of the guys that support the arguement that only people who live in Liverpool can claim to be big supporters?

1) Are you against foreign money coming into the club whether its from direct foreign investment from new owners or merchandise from LFC branded sales?

2) How do you catagorie or feel about the local so called supporters who stand outside Anfield at every home match and tout their tickets for upwards of £120 each? I admit this is a minority but still these guys are representative of the minority of the local fan base.

Interested to here these answers as i use to travel across every year for a game and leave alot of money behind me in ticket sales, hotels, bars and shops.

tbh if RH uses his head there are a few potential targets that would cost little amount of money but would need a bit of work.

there has been talk of old liverpool players coming back which i believe is not the right option.

i would personally go for adriano upfront (massive striker would need training etc but is a world class striker and is available on a free)

at LB i would personally go for charles nzogbia or possible belhadj (if not already moved on) as they would add pace and the balance need in a similar role to glen johnson..

There are alot of dead wood players at the club which i believe are not what i class as a Liverpool player ( eg degan, insua etc).

CM should be an easy decision its been a known fact that masha mants to leave and we would need to find a cm/ dm who could pass and would love to just sit in front of the midfield.. i think its a no brainer (the best passer in the world... David beckham) we could also go for a highly rated youngster who could share the games with Becks - i would personally go for jack rodwell but not guna happen as he plays for the scums... so prob would suggest taking a leaf out of AW books and go african

i think this would be a perfect team where we could push for the title and spend a little but live alot....

any poinons on this is welcome

Well my question is What are you talking to come up with this? Where can I buy it? Couple of things, didn't adirano sign for Roma? Belhadj has gone to a club in Saudi I think and David Beckham! Firstly he's injured and secondly he's WELLLLLLLLLLL past it.

In my opinion we still need a left back and a couple of strikers and I'd love to see Crouchy back at the club along with someone with out and out pace, Remy perhaps? If Maxi goes then we need another right sided midfielder and if we're dreaming who we would like in midfield then bring back Alonso!

"I believe the only way to live and to be truly successful is by collective effort, with everyone working for each other, everyone helping each other, and everyone having a share of the rewards at the end of the day. That might be asking a lot, but it's the way I see football and the way I see life."

"I was only in the game for the love of football -- and I wanted to bring back happiness to the people of Liverpool.

"I'm a Liverpool supporter from London Mr Shankley."
" Well Laddie, what's it like to be in heaven?"

" the Liverpool people are like me, working people, and I understood them and them me"

All Shankley quotes - read and take note

Some of you are becoming deluded with the debate on Scouse Kop v Everyones Kop and the post you are all wittering on about clearly states "However..". This word is often used in the English language to acknowledge validity and acceptance of alternative views - which is something the post you are wittering on about has done since it was first posted. Quit whinning and get back to what the site is for --rumours!

What ridiculous people are sayin that Liverpool shouldnt have fans from elsewhere than Liverpool. I am from liverpool and if we didnt have all these fans our income from kit sales etc..... would not be there. therefore there would be less transfer money and would only be a disadvantage to the club so stop being idiots and realise the whole scale of this!!

04 Aug 2010 14:23:24
Personally I think that anybody that has come or does come forward before the chairman officially announces the takeover is breaching the terms of the confidentiality agreement and therefore probably do not stand a realisitic chance of taking ownership of our club. Any realisitic bidders will most likely stick to the required terms so that they stand the best chance of being picked.

Please do not take this as fact but this is my opinion, I also think that the club are strategically releasing details of the supposed 6 bidders in drips so that the fans will be aware of who was in the running before the actual owneers are announced. That in my opinion is a good PR move as it makes us fans feel that we have been kept informed and all the time it keeps LFC in the press...

When the time is right we will know, all may not be as it seems right now but things will be sorted Im sure for the good of us all. We'll be able to sing born in the USA again to the manure fans again next season... Ha ha ha!

We (LFC fans) are maybe getting too excited and carried away in the past 48 hours. Things have 'gone quiet' on the transfer front and maybe this is a sign of a more determined effort on the part of RH, CP and Martin Broughton to move business on in terms of buying the club and transfers.

I am a fan of 43 years standing and would like this and that player to come in. I am amused by the statements such as "we will buy ...." and then naming every transfer target under the sun!

For my part - I would like to see us remedy the second striker role, another holding midfielder and look at some of the younger talent we have drafted in/nurtured/bought and bargained for.

Loic Remy (striker) would be my choice (not saying we WILL buy him!) and Huntelaar would have been ideal as a foil for Torres. I suggest he is out of the picture, but maybe we are working behind the scnes to fix up Remy. Steven Defour and Alex Witsel have both been suggested here and on other sites, but I wonder if the imminent signing of Poulsen may enable us to offload Lucas Leiva and bring in Defour quickly - providing we tie up Poulsen?

Ada Turan has been mentioned so many times and if 'rumours' are to be believed and Kenny Dalglish rates him very, then maybe he will be the one to come in to solve a growing concern about the right hand side.

Finally, the talent that we have been using over the past few friendly games has excited me more than I have been for a long while. I am hoping Amoo, Darby, Ince, Palsson and maybe Dalla Valle will be used as subs throughout the season. If we have them, rate them, pay them and value them, then this is the time to introduce them.

LIVERPOOL BOARD WILL ACCEPT KIRDI OFFER

Yahya Kirdi is on the verge of completing a deal to buy Liverpool, Yahya Kirdi Introduced by Gillet is a close friend of Gillets son and will takeover the club by the end of next week. he said "Agreement has been reached on all major terms including the purchase price, repayment of the existing bank debt from RBS and Wells Fargo and financing of a new stadium in Liverpool's Stanley Park. A formal purchase agreement between the parties is in the final stage of negotiation."

"Liverpool is a massive football club with passionate and proud fans in Merseyside and in every part of the world," said Kirdi.

"With additional money to improve the squad and financing in place to build the new stadium, LFC will be on a solid foundation to compete in the Premiership and in Europe for years to come."

This is not a rumour but a comment on what i have read earlier .People writing comments saying that the Kop should be reserved for people from Liverpool should consider this , it is very easy to leave your home get into your car ,drive down to the ticket office and purchase your ticket ,think about people from Ireland ( like myself ) who once they aquire a ticket have to then book a flight and a hotel and change their euros into sterling . They do this willingly and without complaint to travel over to see the team they love , I wonder if people from Liverpool had to do this would they go to Anfield as often ...

04 Aug 2010 14:11:07
I hope the club gets bought this week by a reputable owner or owners who will give Roy the money to repair the damage done to the squad by the spanish waiter. When Rafa inherited Gerard Houlliers team we were a physical side, last season we looked like Lilliput FC, how many 6ft players do we have?

Roy needs to buy a left back, 2 x 6ft plus centre backs ( sorry Carrar your time is up ), a ball winning midfielder to play alongside Gerrard and a big centre forward to hold the ball up for Torres, ( not crouch or Heskey).

I have faith in Roy, I would have liked Toshack to have had the job, but hes the next best thing.

Come on the reds

I find it stupid people saying that only people from Liverpool should go to Anfield.

My whole family comes from Liverpool but i was born and raised in South Africa where i spent 19 years of my life and have always supported Liverpool since i can remember as my whole family does, so some people think i shouldnt go to Anfield because im not from Liverpool complete and utter rubbish! I live in London now but tend to go to all the London away games and if i can get up to Liverpool i will go to Anfield so why wouldnt i have the right just because i dont come from Liverpool considering my whole life i was brought up on Love Liverpool Hate United.

LFC420

I'm new to London, was also born in SA and been a Liverpool fan for nearly 20 years. Are there any LFC supporters pubs nearby? Or ways to get in touch with other fans who attend away matches etc and make the trip up north?
Thanks

everyone is saying we need to add more english players to be able to meet the new "home grown" regulations. I don't think we need more than 2 new players as we can use our youth/reserve players. ideally we need a new left back, winger and possibly striker (would prefer one from abroad) as daft as this may sound with the take over imminent i think that these suggestions seem plausible:

LB: Bridge (5-8 million)
LW: Young (15-20 million)
RW: Lennon (18-25 million)
ST: Crouch (8 million)
ST: Defoe (15-20 million)

obviously all wont happen, but i think three of the five i don't think seem to unrealistic.

The Kirdhi proposed buyer appears to be an attempt by Gillette to up the price into a bidding war. Allegedly he is good friends with Foster Gillette, the son of George. The link is obvious. A simple majority of the selling committee is needed to agree a sale to the Huang consortium who Broughton is certain has funds. The figure yet to be agreed is the price. The committee comprises Hicks and Gillette... against the offer because they get hardly anything from it as it stands £300 M inc paying off debt of £287M; Purslow and Ian Ayre who are reportedly for accepting the offer, and Broughton, who has yet to decide. The Huang buyers have been introduced to the Premier League authorities for approval, notwithstanding no final decision has been taken to accept.

Some of the other ` potential buyers`have only offered to buy a share in the club and are therefore not a priority candidate.Ignore sky reports, its an attempt by Gillette to create a phoney bidding war and to try to retain some involvement.

Hope this clears things up.

our team is known for the greatest supporters in the world and stupid comments like that from so called fans just give us a bad name........i personally think its a bitter or a manc trying to stir things up or just a simple muppet

04 Aug 2010 13:48:22
We should forget about the changes and money new owners would bring to the pool. Most of the changes we need are already in place.
1 We have a new manger that is more attack minded then the last one, forget two holding midfielders for starters, major problem solved. Definitely roy is a lot more level headed then the last fool (Yosi scored and played well, then left on the bench, Torres taken off and us a goal down, Aqualani fit and starting to show signs of greatness left on the bench while lucas starts, but to name a few of my problems with rafa last year).
2 Roy likes real wingers, old fashioned pace that will take on players, drag out central defenders and get the ball into sir'nando. Turan is one of these and we don't need city money to buy him. Young is the type i mean all so. Don't tell me we need to give Babel a chance, that man can only turn inside, you won't win the premier league doing that. Dirk is no better, no pace and won't go down the wing. The last winger we had was Pennent and he just wasn't any good.
3 If you are to believe the rumours we are going to finally replace Alonso, a midfield passer, someone who can pick out a pass from distance and turn defence into attack quickly, thats when god(Torres) will really shine. Benaga is the man to do it.
4 A left back with pace to fill in for Areilio looks likely, a good combination is needed on each wing for real width. love agger on the left, he's some man going forward but don't want to loose him from the middle.
5 Central attacking is sorted with steve Aqualani and cole.
6 We are still a huge club and players want to come to us, we have a reputation all over the world. Ed had to make a page for just us?
6 We have Geard and torres and they are staying.

We can't see another season go down the drain if fernando is out for too long, we need another goal scorer. A proven prolific goal scorer to play alongside or instead of torres. Preferably young.
I'm also worried about carra this year. (A total legend, nothing like him, the way he played against Everton this year showed the true pool man. Pineer didn't know what hit him) His pace is gone. A replacement is needed and skirtal or keriakos are not it.

I'm an exiled "plastic Scouser" who has been living in Scotland for 30 years, I'm looking forward to coming down for tomorrow night's game amid the new air of optimism. Even though we haven't won the league for 20 years, we are still as popular north of the border as we've ever been with many fans supporting the Reds ahead of their local Scottish clubs. However, the last few years of infighting under the present (soon to be past) owners and Benitez have not shown our club in the best light. I know it won't happen but it would have been nice if fans representatives were consulted regarding the preferred bidder. All we can hope for is an owner who is in touch with the feelings of the supporters and who will do things the Liverpool way.
Anyway, onwards and upwards and here's to a season where all we will be focusing on will be the players on the park.

04 Aug 2010 13:44:27
Can anyone shed some light on the Poulsen deal?
Is Roy really considering him as a viable replacement for Masch? Could it be a possible smokescreen? It seems like there are MUCH better options available. Poulsen is rated around 6M, but with (potential) new owners on the way it seems like we could afford to splash a little more cash for someone of higher quality such as Defour or Banega. Maybe Roy sees something in Poulsen that I've missed, but I can honestly say I've got my fingers crossed that this transfer does NOT happen!

04 Aug 2010 13:44:17
just been reading rumours of bastos being a target if a certain buyer get's hold of the club...
i think this would be a great signing as he can play anywhere on the left side, brazil used him at right back and lyon use him as a right midfielder/right winger. in my eyes he was the best left back at the world cup and is not actually a left back. i am not sure of his price tag or if lyon would be willing to let the player leave. does anyone know what kind of price lyon would demand? also, does anyone know how much the potential buyers are worth? when h&g took control there were stories that they had billions, but what a load of cods wollop that turned out to be....the future is all RED.

Lets get one thing straight about the takeover.
The debt will not be cleared, it will merely be transferred to different people.

The main difference is how the new owners will act and whether they will risk the future of the club by not being able to meet future commitments.

Investment is exactly what is says, an investment, and those investors will want something in return for their money. A new stadium allows more supporters to buy tickets and therefore increases the revenue needed to pay the wages and transfer fees required to maintain our great club.

I want to see my club run with dignity and repsonsibility and let the fans have a voice too. Of course I also want to see us PL Champions and back in Europe where we belong, but not if it means doing a Pompey the following season.

I believe we will win the EPL this year.

Could Harris be working on behalf of a US Consortium?

Hello everyone,

Loving the sub-site Mr Editor... Just to tell you guys about some inside information I have regarding the new owners and transfers at the club.

My uncle is really close mates with Sammy Lee, who has apparently been told that the Syrian-Canadian consortium will not be taking over the club, instead it looks increasingly likely it will be Kenny Huang. Also the talk of Poulsen joining is untrue, with Hodgson looking at Parker and/or Cattermole to boost his english quota once again. Mascherano is as good as gone (around 22million). The left back situation seemes to have resolved itself, but Hodgson is still considering a move for Wayne Bridge or Paul Konchesky. Roy is also looking at a striker, but at a maximum of around £15million. Huntelaar, Bent and Crouch have been mentioned, however Carlton Cole is in talks with the club regarding a £9million move.

This is all 100% true, even though i know all of these players are not going to sign, they are certainly being looked at by Hodgson.

By the way, Im a season ticket holder from Toxteth and I dont see a problem regarding where you are from as long as you are a true Liverpool fan.

Been checking this site for a year or two now and have to say that this addition of the LFC Site is awesome!
Who agrees that with regards to the take over we do NOT want to become another Chelksi/Man s**tty club that flaunts its wealth and buys the title.
I would rather we made 1 or 2 quality additions each season to the squad each season allowing current players to bed in/settle....just look at the blus side of Manchester they are basically mugging off good steady hard working players each season in favour of big name money grabbers......Dunne, SWP, Ireland for example.

I have a mate who has family that are from birkenhead and has family still there but he only lived there for a short period of his life yet he is a massive pool fan. He lives in fife now which is in scotland and i have met his family from birkenhead and talked football with them but i dont get the impression that they love the pool as much as my mate does. So in theory it doesnt matter if you live a stone throw away from the club or a plane journey away

will people please stop saying or hoping liverpool will buy shaun wright-phillips . he is over rated and rubbish gerard houllier and rafa bought too many mediorce average players and swp falls into that group. come-on lads lets aim for the stars ,if this sale goes through we will have the money to buy better players than swp. i know we a quota of 8 home grown players in a squad of 25 .but there are better players than swp out there. lets all higher our expectations and march on to premiership glory. I've just read an article on Keith Harris and Seymour Pierce and it said that Keith Harris was representing QIA in the deal to buy Everton (remember) If this is true then maybe just maybe he is acting on behalf of QIA and James 007 was right all along!

Blair Mayne YNWA"

Blair, it's strange how so many people at the time believed every word that Hicks had to say. What happened to "the takeover will not happen until the end of the year"?
Anyway, Kenny Huang and the Syrians are nowhere in the picture. Trust me on this. A deal with a Middle East buyer had been agreed a while ago. Wait and see. Announcement of new owners will be made next week. The new owners will be present at the Arsenal game.

i'm not sure if i trust this bid fronted by Yahya Kirdi , 3 previous occassion's he has said he was in advanced talks with liverpool . i think its a ply by H&G to drum up interest and increase the price.and just saw an interview with keith (manure) harris , he said he is working on behalf of a group interested in buying the club.why would a group with genuine interests, hire a self -confessed manc to put liverpool in a stronger position in spending power and potential world wide appeal. that 3 different bids in 3 days expect 2-3 more over the next few days. plus the yahya kirdi bid is reported from skysports "sources" . which gives the bid very little foundation.

I am liverpool through and through, im not from the city i live in keighley a little town in west yorkshire. to say that i shouldnt support this great club the club ive supported since the day i was born is out of order cause ill support them till the day i die! i have a ticket to the arsenal game first game of the season should i not have it? should i give it back? because i paid for it? i sat there for 45 mins trying to get on the website to get it. im not from the great city but im not ashamed of where i come from. it doesnt change the fact that i love LFC support them through thick and thin! they could play in league 2 and id still support them. now ask yourself the guy who said this if youd still even watch them in cup games on tele cause id have a season ticket!!

tbh if RH uses his head there are a few potential targets that would cost little amount of money but would need a bit of work.

there has been talk of old liverpool players coming back which i believe is not the right option.

i would personally go for adriano upfront (massive striker would need training etc but is a world class striker and is available on a free)

at LB i would personally go for charles nzogbia or possible belhadj (if not already moved on) as they would add pace and the balance need in a similar role to glen johnson..

There are alot of dead wood players at the club which i believe are not what i class as a Liverpool player ( eg degan, insua etc).

CM should be an easy decision its been a known fact that masha mants to leave and we would need to find a cm/dm who could pass and would love to just sit in front of the midfield.. i think its a no brainer (the best passer in the world...

I wouldn't pay too much attention to this Kirdi rumour. He made much the same claim in April and it came too nothing. Suspect nothing will come of it now. I would also be wary of any bidder that goes public before the deal is done.

Well theres been alot about the takeover in the news, im a bit puzzled as to whats going on to be honest and i cant thinking about the possible outcomes.

It was good to hear of huang looking to buy the club and i was happy to finally see some light at the end of the tunnel, BUT if the size of the bid is true he hasnt bid enough to meet the yanks valuations. I know the yanks dont have a clue and 800m seems like alot but that brings me on to my next point.

Now there has been another bid by khidi, i have read that this bidder was introduced by hicks and gillet which is why it seems dodgy to me. I find it dodgy because as far as i was aware hicks and gillet had no involvement in the sales process and now they have introduced this person as their prefered buyer, is this because they will get more money from him? Surely he wouldnt be crazy enough to pay 800m so why is he the prefered buyer? Also the fact that he has had to be backed by two seperate people suggests that they cant afford to buy the club alone and as we have already seen partnerships dont always work out.

Personally i hope the offers are all legit and trustworthy but the fact that the americans put khidi into the picture makes me feel very uneasy as i dont trust the yanks as far as i could throw them and there is a reason they want this guy to buy the club.

What does everyone else think? And wheres ed gone??

In response to the above

Now that Keith Harris said that he is representing someone to buy LFC for me makes him the most credible so far. In my opinion it probably make's whoever he's representing the favourite's as if you want to buy a football club then this is the man to speak to. I think he could be acting on behalf of either Sheikh Kalifa or Shiekh Mohamed or both or could it be QIA who James 007 said it was in May? But maybe because Keith Harris is very credible and very good at aquireing football clubs that whoever he is acting on behalf will probably be our new owners.

Me mates mum is a cleaner in The Croc (a pub in Liverpool, for those who are not sure), and says she has just seen someone who deeply resembles Kenny Huang having a cold beverage with an Argentine World Cup Star next door in The Baby Croc. It wasn't the captain she said, but was no other than Kun Aguero (not Ken his half brother) but the real deal himself!! I know he hasn't yet bought the club but he is confident and must mean business.

04 Aug 2010 12:51:13
this is what willl happen. chinese will be forced to bid higher due to other bids and then yanks will accept defeat and leave. this will leave us with less debt, funds for a new stadium and big funds for trnafers to spend right away. hodgson will be told to name his players and he willl get them, altho hodgson wont go and be excessive.

out:
masch-30m
benayoun-5m
deadwood-5m
+chinese money (100m)
=140m more or less available.

in:
lahm-20m
benega-15m
m.richards-10m
turan-15m
aguero-30m
huntlear-10m
=100m

team would be:

-----------------reina-------------------
--johnson--agger---carra/richards--lahm--
-------------benega/lucas--------------
-----cole-------gerrard-------turan-----
-----------torres-----aguero-----------

subs- sktrel, aureilo, aquilani, kuyt, maxi, babel, pacheco, huntlear.

this would give us winning teama nd cover in all positions, especially up front for torres, who could also play along side aguero again like at athletico.

what u think?

Ive seen a few posts on here about keeping the kop scouse and not letting woolies and irish in blah blah blah

I would like to say that this offends me quite a bit all my family are scouse but i was born and raised in wigan, i supported liverpool before i even knew who wigan athletic where and i love LFC with a passion.

To say the kop should'nt allow people in unless they are from liverpool because it stops locals getting hold of tickets is shocking, everybody has the same opportunity to get tickets as everyone else, the tickets go on sale at the same time and cost the same no matter where you are from so what gives you the right to complain that you cant get tickets? i find it just as difficult to get tickets as you lot but i accept that if im late to the ticket office then tickets will be sold.

To say the Kop is just for scousers is basically racism and its ridiculas, even if you wanted the Kop to be fully scouse there isnt a man on this planet thats going to stop me or many other fans for that matter going to see the club that i love, come to think of it nobody will tell me where i can and cant go at all no matter if its a stadium or a restaurant or walking down a street we are free men and can go where we please!

Reports in today's Daily Telegraph state Kirdi is in the final stages of buying the club. Interestingly the report also states he neotiated direct with Dumb & Dumber, by-passing BarCap, RBS and Broughton completely.

A press statement released on his behalf states ""Yahya Kirdi, who represents a select group of investors from the Middle East and Canada, confirmed today that his group is in advanced negotiations with Thomas Hicks and George Gillett, co-owners of Liverpool Football Club, to purchase 100% of the Club.

"Agreement has been reached on all major terms including the purchase price, repayment of the existing bank debt from RBS and Wells Fargo and financing of a new stadium in Liverpool's Stanley Park. A formal purchase agreement between the parties is in the final stage of negotiation. Mr. Kirdi is a resident of Canada and a former Syrian National Football Team player who oversees investments in Europe and North America on behalf of his investor group."

He is apparently front-man for a consortium of investors from the Middle East and Canada.

Now correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression H&G were out of the purchase process and it was under control of Broughton/ BarCap. This would seem to indicate that in fact H&G have retained final control.

You seem like a smart person can you not see that Gillett is behind this to get the Chinese to up they're price. After all the so called statement from Yahya Kirdi was just an E.mail sent to a Sky Sports reporter. Not so much of a rumour but..
Just think if we get taken over we could have a decent 80% English team.

Masch - £25m
Kuyt - £10m
Babel - £10m
Skyrtel - £8m

Total - £53m

Then with a little bit of spending by the new owners..

-----------------------Reina----------------------

Johnson---Carra---M Richards (£10)---Wiltshire (15m)

A Young (£20m) A Johnson (£20M)
Gerrard Cole

Torres Aguero (£35m)

Total net spend £37m. Although I wouldn't be too happy with A Young but can't think of a better English winger and I don't rate Milner! Maybe throw in Arda Turan, he is ace and would only cost £15!

04 Aug 2010 11:25:12
Broughton has said that there are a few interested parties. I think the 2 that are in the press are wanting the fans to drum up support and put pressure on the board to sell to them. I think that the other non publicity seeking offers are probably tthe better option as all the offers have to meet the same criteria and they are not splashed all over the press. Personally hope DIC are still in there as they have the cash and the chairman of them is a liverpool fan.

Just my thoughts

I am not sure if this is linked to the Observer news paper but found this comment posted on a site called 2point6 Billion.com ( get the feeling the guy writing this is either a Chelski or manure supporter ).

The_Observer Says:
August 3rd, 2010 at 6:44 am

This is a daft idea. Overseas buyers of British football teams are normally the province of Russian oligarchs who want a place to park the money that they ripped-off from the Russian people or former Thai Prime Ministers on the run. The Russians have a history of football, the Chinese can't even hold an honest local men's game (although the women's team does well internationally). The hey-day of British football is long gone. Liverpool is currently in debt. I presume the gentleman concerned has done his sums on what sports clothing and gear he can expect to sell for the high price he'll be paying for a once great team. Unless Liverpool F.C. includes a dedicated following outside Britain who will buy the team's merchandise, I can't see how it will pay (and that is before taking into account that local Liverpudlians may be put off by the team being owned by a Chinese or pirated merchandise affecting sales)

RED LENIN"

Tbh i'd take that with a pinch of salt. It looks merely to be a counter statement to Huang's claims of bypassing the board and going directly to RBS which we also know isn't exactly true. It's all bluff and counter bluff atm, but the fact that he claims to be negotiating with H&G only serves to further indicate he is being used as a pawn in order to smoke out bigger bids. This statement smacks of desperation to me. It has always been maintained that the board will vote on any takeover, therefore even if he had both owners on board it still wouldn't be pushed through without one of Ayre, Broughton or Purslow. It must have been humiliating for Hicks to see the bid of Kirdi, which he brought to the table, being widely reported as a childish stalling tactic by virtually all media outlets, so this kind of statement was needed to save face.

Huang's bluff was that he was dealing with RBS in order to drive down the price paid to H&G and itnimating that they were irrelevant to the sale process.

Kirdi's counter bluff on behalf of Gillett is that he is dealing with the Americans, trying to indicate that they still hold the ultimate reins of power.

Both statements are merely bargaining tools, but the latter is also an attempt to save face as Hicks' name in particular is being dragged through the mud and he still has big business plans in the US apparently.

Liverpool fc takeover will come to a head in the next 10 days.gillett is trying to delay the deal by introducing the syrian bid.But this will not affect the schedule of the take over process. The syrians have been negoatiating with Gillet and to a certain extent with Hdicks. But with the 5 board member group including these 2.

If 3 of the ,purslow, richard broughton ,and ian ayre vote in favour of the chinese group then the chinese will take over.before that broughton has the responsibility of scrutenizing the finances of the respected bidders. As his reputation is on the line broughton will make the best decision for the club.

The tranfer activity of lfc will be limited with the mascherano sale and the possibility of buying poulson.
After that if the chinese group buys the club roy will be told to revamp his transfer list completely I mean completely. And they are prepared to BUY ANYONE I MEAN ANYONE !! The propective owners want to arrive at the EPL with a Bang !

The Yahya Kirdi which has apparrently gone straight through the dopes is bull, he's gillets ally and a way for them to try and up the price ,they are petrified now that broughton will see the china deal as the best for the club and he always said the right deal not the highest bidder would win, and the Huang deal is giving them very litlle profit.

good enough fr them anyway

with Torres and Gerrard saying they'll stay
which means there must be something in the background ( new owners and club moving forward
with funds )

transfer wise:
the main thing hodgson wanted was to keep his two main ASSETS(players) which was Torres and Gerrard, so now them to guaranteeing there future i wont be surprised to see the club took over

but dont get delusional and hodgson will only sign players who want to play for Liverpool,

he'll sign 1 more big player on the last day of the transfer window as the club will be took over close to then and he his planning the deal already but wants to keep it quiet to probably show scousers he wants to move the club forward, this could be many names but i think it'll be a forward to play alongside Torres and then Pacheco as back up but will get more game time this season. then mascherano will sell as soon as inter sell balotelli, but the deal i would look at for masch is cambiasso and 15mil and if benitez wants to sign kuyt for 12 i would take it without looking, also ano it may seem along shot but i would try and sign Theo walcott as i think if you can get the best out of him he can be a world clas winger and has got bundles of pace wich is what we lacked with kuyt and also another english player and one for the future

the main positions hodgson will be focusing on :

lb if insua goes
dm if masch goes
rm if kuyt goes
st to help Torres , as we need a battering ram so Torres doesn't get injured

so the transfer targets i reckon he will go for

lb: with mavinga it the ranks and looks to be a good lb a dont think he'll think about age much so maybe:

Wayne bridge
Figueroa
salcido
Lopez
but i dont think this will be the position he'll work on

dm: with mascherano saying he wants to move away before the takeover was taking place or starting to , i would sell for the simple fact he doesn't want to play for Liverpool football club so for his backup i would like to see a combination player of him and Alonso type of players someone who can tackle and cover allot of ground but also can keep there head and make 60 yard pases to feet so maybe:

the targets hes got are
poulsen
cambiasso swap plus money
Scott parker
banega
poulsen

but what i would like to see is Gerrard playing more defensively more the cm role he has been craving for

or only if we get took over and get funds i would get a Mr xabi Alonso back as i think that was a part of our failure last year and also with Madrid signed khedira i cant see xabi getting the guaranteed start that he wants and will get at Liverpool

rm: if kuyt goes which i would let him yes hes done nothing wrong but for my liking his isn't a right midfielder if we are going to keep him to play up top with Torres but still i dont think hes good enough.

possible targets:
swp
Ashley young
Arda turan

i would try a long shot someone like Theo Walcott who has allot to prove, or Aaron Lennon with pace to get in between defenders and for them through balls there Gerrard like to play.

st: i would like to see a biggish striker to offer Torres protection as i think allot is up to him and that is how he gets injured easily, also i would play Pacheco allot more to get him key match fitness because hes looking to be a good players

possible targets:

crouch

but i think crouch will be a good signing but if the takeover does happen i would go for a big name like aguero or i would put a cheeky 25mil-30mil bid in for tevez because i think him and Torres would be perfect combination but if we dont have the money i would either get crouch or Bellamy.

starting eleven without owners:

Reina

Johnson carragher agger bridge/insua

Gerrard

swp aquailani Joe Cole

Torres crouch

crouch 11mil
swp 7mil
which is 18mil of the masch 25mil

with owners
Reina

Johnson agger carragher bridge/insua

Alonso
Gerrard
Walcott aguero Cole

Torres crouch
kuyt and masch get bout 35mil

with owners
Reina

Johnson agger carragher bridge/insua

Alonso
Gerrard
Walcott aguero Cole

Torres crouch

kuyt and masch get bout 35mil
aguero 35ish
walcott 20mil
crouch 11mil
alonso 20mil
so the new owners only have to give us 50million to start of with to build a good squad

yes some players in the 2nd team may be unlikely but
Alonso never wanted to leave Liverpool till the Barry saga came in with s**tty benitez, Walcott its his season to improve and will struggle to get in arsenal midfield as he did last season when he was fit, aguero said he supported Liverpool so he would play for Liverpool , and it will be hard for crouch to get into the spurs team as harry want to sign a big name forward of the world cup.

* will be for the player for that new rule of 8 players (i think it is) that has to be home grown or English we have 13 in my squad

we also have all the youth of shelvey , spearing, mavinga, amoo, inc, dalla valle, robinson in the wings ( am just naming a few)
i think either way owners or not Liverpool are on the up , and hopefully Liverpool will get took over and we will have them funds promised because i would like to see Liverpool back where we belong and that is at the top of the table and winning European championships, we need the passion and thrill of playing for Liverpool football club

we need the class of Gerrard , Torres Cole aquilani to have a good season but also the youth to inject a spark into Liverpool to give them the boost to win the premier league

but either way we need Liverpool to be in finish in the top 4 next year at least so Torres and Gerrard can stay and attract better players and players who want to play for Liverpool football club rather than for the money

I have supported Liverpool since I kicked a football aged 4 - now 31 years later I STILL SUPPPORT Liverpool, through good and bad times! I am not sorry that I live in KENT and am not a scouser - I do not apologise for my team choice as I love my team, so finally on this matter - do not make derogatory comments about LFC that do not live in Liverpool! What would people in China have to do to support us? Move over the Ocean to live in Liverpool?
Whoever says we are not true supporters are obviously very simple minded and ridiculous.

I hope we can get this takeover completed quickly, I would not like to see Roy have to buy second rate players on a tight budget, lose half a season, then have to pick things up for the second half of the season!!

Torres - couldn't be happier he is staying.
Gerrard - Never thought he would leave.
Masch - Thanks for his services, but if he wants to go - go, don't want players that don't want to play for LFC.

Both these players have conducted themselves very well over all the transfer rumours, they got the world cup over with and waited to speak to Roy before going to press - proved the media is full of rubbish!!

@Pablo...You sad get! Are you a bitter or a Manc? I guess you are worried as the sale is going through and we will be stronger than ever.
As for rumours, i just want someone who loves the club not a Citeh or Chelski clone. New ground, some big players and no debt. Dreamland.

i am a life long LFC die hard,i would like to share that if Mukesh Ambani is serious about taking over LFC,that will be the best thing that can happen....

I know that people think that he will be no different than the yanks, but thats total rubbish....

One thing thing Liverpudlians should know that this guy know how to run a club, his team the Mumbai Indians are the most improving team in the IPL...

Money will never be a a factor, because he spends lavishly,he bought the most expensive player in IPL last year{Keiron Pollard} and he also is a huge sport enthusiast,he or his wife are always present at matches, the guy is an absolute gem and down to eart,no show off just the important stuff...

And the most important thing he will never allow LFC to go down in debts again....

Just been reading about the Texas Rangers (Hick's Basball Team). They're up for auction today to avoid administration.. Looks like LFC are not the only sports team Hicks has tried to destroy! Maybe this could mean that he is under pressure and will have to accept any decent bids for Liverpool without digging his heals in and making things to difficult!

You consider yourself part of the "big 4" when you have never won the prem? :S Its about time some of you took yourself seriously, stop saying your going to buy world class players because at the end of the day you cant! Also you said how masch is a world-class CDM last season and the season before, and now as soon as he wants to leave he is "rubbish" "greedy" and "overrated". To me and most other fans your a laughing stock."

This my friend, is a Liverpool rumours page. You obviously support some other team but are clearly so envious of our great club that you feel the need to clutter up our page with your drivel. Stop your whinging, curb your jealousy and concentrate on your own club and their attempts to match the history of this great club.

I agree with the guy posting above, you re clearly a miserable t**t who thinks one season of misfortune and injuries are what you judge a club on.... Call me when you win 5 champions leagues.

Sky Sports News are today reporting that an email sent to one of their reporters earlier this morning states that former Syrian footballer and now millionaire Yahya Kirdi has convinced Tom Hicks and George Gilett to sell LFC to him and his backers.

I pulled the post above off South African LFC supporters.com

I said last night that This Is Anfield.com had said that Gillett was trying to hold up the deal and push the price up so the Chinese would pay more. Now look how this information was sent to Sky Sports by E.mail is it just me or doe's this sound a bit IFFY!

Why is that one day all my fellow reds fans go on about kenny's buying habits & the next it's Yahya Kirdi,

It's just because i knew as soon as sky started to say about the Yahya Kirdi, i thought to myself i bet i go on rumours and everyone knows when the deal will be complete and also who they are buying?

Come on reds the simple fact is there are about 6 bids and tommorrow it will be shiek mo turn to be in the headlines and then people will come on here & say he's buying this player and a deal is done for monday...

Unless you have real contacts & know for certain, just let it be untill that yellow bar on sky says 'BREAKING NEWS LIVERPOOL FC HAS BEEN SOLD'....

There is no requirement to replace Mascherano. If Liverpool decide to play a support striker to help Torres out then we will be fielding one less midfield position.

04 Aug 2010 10:07:50
Firstly - I'm not from Liverpool, but have supported and loved this club since I was about 4 (31 years), so Proud that the club has fans from all over the world - And I thought Liverpudilians were meant to be among the friendliest people in the world.... Glad to see Degen may be leaving (never even looked like being good enough). Hope the takeover is done soon. I think the future looks brighter anyway, Hodgson has proven he can get the best out of players (look at Fulham last year) where as Benitez all to often turned good players bad (Lucas had been hailed as one of the brightest prospects in world football before Rafa got his hands on him, and Kuyt had a brilliant scoring record in Holland), or alienated the best players (Alonso, Yossi, even Stevie), and is it any wonder Torres and Gerrard were always getting injured because of the work they had to get through - too much dependance on two players). I can see Roy being very careful and only getting players he knows he can get playing well, and blending in to the team... no matter how much he has to spend!

Please instead of people slagging of fellow LFC fans, can we all pull together and get behind the greatest club in the world!

El Diablo!

Yahya kirdi rumour is a load of bull on ssn it says it has been reported. on every other website it says that their just claims. their claiming that there in advanced stages if so why have they not infomed the premier league like kenny huang has! LFC will be run by china soon and be champions of everyone!!

04 Aug 2010 10:01:03

Now correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression H&G were out of the purchase process and it was under control of Broughton/BarCap. This would seem to indicate that in fact H&G have retained final control.

In reply-

As far as getting Woolies and Irish off the Kop - I can relate to the guy who first said this, when you are from Liverpool and the club is so rooted in the everyday life of the city and those who live here its hard to accept that there are games you can't get tickets for that people who dont even live here can. However, we can't complain if we end up with Arab, Chinese or Indian owners can we! Would love the fans to own the club, S.O.S, (most of us are from the city)- but dont see it happening this time

To the person who said the above, please think before you post... If you'd bother to look through the History "Irish" have both in Liverpool City and with "L.F.C.", you'd see how narrow minded your comments are... I myself travel to alot of LEAGUE/ EUROPEAN games at great expense to see MY club... Just because I'm not from Liverpool does not mean I'm not a true/ real supporter... Just remember if L.F.C was not a worldwide brand it would be more like hello Championship, not champions league!!
Money = wages......

Its you who should read the post again and digest it mate! It clearly states what you have re-stated about our owners/players/managers not being from Liverpool. This wasn't a pop at the Woolies or the Irish it was stating the obvious to those who think the Kop should be scouse, that our clubs history is not about a team of Liverpool born players or managers. When you are local it is difficult to accept if there are games you can't get to, but I've got a list of Irish mates who are on the phone weekly to me to get tickets for matches so don't try to re-act as though I'm some biggot here. Read the post and see what it is saying, think you'll find that I empathise with both viewpoints , but clearly state that those who wish the Kop to be scouse have nothing to shout about if they look at the owners and players who they sing about each week and who clearly aren't scouse! FACT!

To the chap who wrote:

Let me tell you I work in the cafeteria in Anfield... Shhhh I over heard this from one of the senior players and I know for sure that this is expected so...

Javier Mascherano > Inter Milan
Javier has handed in a transfer request and will be joining Inter Milan for a fee believed to be around 28 Million pounds

Ever Banega > Liverpool
Roy Hodgson will need to replace Javier Macherano before the season starts in 2 weeks. Rafa benitez had been chasing the creative argentinian and he was meant to be joining the reds this summer. Roy Hodgson has been aware of the previous interest. It would be very convenient considering Javier's soon departure and also Steven Gerrard wouldn't mind playing in Javier's role as Alberto Aquilani will be playing more for the reds this season after some impressive displays last season. Roy Hodgson is a fan of the young player and would rather not buy the soon to be 30 year old Scott Parker who will be valued at around 15 million pounds. Ever is believed to be joining the reds for a fee of around £8.5 Million

Andres Guardado > Liverpool
Roy's interest in Andres is apparently one at the top of the list and is relying on the sale of Javier Mascherano to pay the 18 million price tag for the mexican.

Liverpool will be signing 2 players that can play on the Left midfield and also as center forward roles. Names that are apparently on Roy's Target list are..
Andres Guardado (18 Million)
Ashley Young (12 Million)
Shaun Wright-Phillips (10 Million)

All depending on the sale of Javier Mascherano.

YOU ARE DREAMING IF YOU THINK WE CAN GET ASHLEY YOUNG FOR £12M. DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THAT AV VALUE YOUNG FOR LESS THAN MILNER?!

Ed where are you i think your input during these time would be very helpful. Whats up mate come back i would like your opinion. Ive been loving the new site and the only thing missing is your input..

Oh yeah my source has confirmed to me that regardless of the take over we will not persue Poulsen Juventus apparently want too much for the 30 yr old midfielder. We will turn our attentions to Sully Muntari from Inter valueble experience in the premier leauge.

I really shouldn't take the bait but I will... Only Man U have won as many titles as Liverpool, we have won 2 more European Cups than Man U and 5 more than Chelsea and Arsenal combined. The only club other than Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal to have won the Premiership is Blackburn so would you put them in the "big 4" or may be Nottingham Forest (2 European cups). You have clearly fallen for the Sky marketing department's propaganda that football started in 1992 when the Premiership was started. It didn't. Yes it is a long while since we won the league title but unlike Chelsea we do not rely on the support of a load of glory hunting fickle fans - and that is precisely why we are one of the big 4. Your description of Masch as a CDM marks you out as some adolescent playstation boy - now Fcuk off back to the main rumour site.

Firstly let me start by saying you don't have to be a scouser to have LFC in your heart look at Torres for example he is not exactly from Bootle is he! This club is loved by many people across the world an long my its legacy continue, and just to let you know I am a scouser born and bread so do not listen to the minority because that is all you are if you have that narrow minded opinion................
Next please lads and ladys lets not start throwing names of potential signings round yet, all we are hearing at the moment is rumors about takeovers and dreams of us going straight to the top.
We have been here before remember with the two yanks (bodge it & scarper) they will want to bleed our club till the very last moment with no remorse for us the fans or the condition of the future off LFC
All we can do now is hope that there is not another fool with a hidden agenda stood on our door step waiting to come knocking..........................

Re:
ED, SSN this morning are reporting that the syrian group are on the verge of taking over at anfield, any truth to this and what do you know of them? im worried this is a deal that will not see us in a position to buy players just service the debt and build the stadium? who is yahya kirdi and why is he fronting the bid? and who else is with him? im worried- should i be?

I too am concerned that the Kirdi bid might not be the best for the club. This is mainly because of a reported closeness to H&G. I don't think that we need to worry about servicing the debt though, I am confident that any accepted bid will clear the debt rather than just service it.

I am not too bothered about not getting a sugar daddy like City & Chelsea though. Once clubs have to live within ther means that kind of strategy will hopefully become a thing of the past. Whoever the new owner is i would like to see rapid progress on the new stadium (at least 65,000 seats). From a marketing perspective a Chinese or Indian owner could be a very good thing. As far as buying players is concerned, apart from buying a world class strike partner for Torres I would like to see most of the money spent on the best youth prospects around such as Connor Wickham. We already have a host of very good under 21s at he club and this is what the future should be built on.

Take over to be announced on Friday morning from Yahya Kirdi and his fellow investors, clearing the debt and renewing the stadium plans for an immediate start on building. Later that day a major signing will be announced as a sign of intent (basically a way of getting the Kops support), this will most likely be a player such as Aguero, Milner or Tevez (roughly all £30m).
After expect one or two more signings most probably a left back and a midfielder of some kind before the transfer window closes as Kirdi doesnt want to put too much pressure on Hodgson and the team, also Kirdi doesn't have quite the same money as Kenny Huang of China.

I've been a Liverpool fan all my life - as a scouser, I'd like to distance myself from the ridiculous comments about out of town supporters. I don't care where our fans are from, as long as they're supportive, realistic, knowledgeable and passionate. I'm a season ticket holder and some of the lads who sing the most were born outside of Liverpool.

Anyway, cheers for the GREAT site, fingers crossed this takeover does go through (and to the right consortium/family/businessman) before the deadline so we can strengthen our squad further.

Finally to the clown who thinks we're a small club - no matter who you support in England, your team has won less European trophies than us :o)

04 Aug 2010 08:44:24
Hey all!

I'm an american and studying MBA (football industries) frm the uni of liverpool. I hav a dissertation project wid lfc, my potential employers.
The outcome of the takeover will fetch limited benefit to us, this time around as v r running out of time. However, we can create wonders in the Jan window and so on..!!
Anyways, after talks with the heirarchy, I expect kenny huang to invest in 1 striker, 1 winger cum striker and ofcourse dm. Huntelaar (milan), diego( juve), defour( stnd ligue), aguero(ath mad) are possible names cuming through.
Lets see what will happen...

posted yesterday for the first time my source works at anfield and told me about joe cole and an abu dabi based group buying the club all this talk of kenny huang i think is in my opinion a load of bull so remember this name (redbazza) and any more info i can get i will post. just a quick one on the woolybacks on the kop issue i think were people are missing the point is if you go back to the sixtys when the kop held 26 thousand fans the atmosphere was fantastic my mother used to stand on the kop every game and followed liverpool everywhere and took her 9 kids as we all grew up.poeple used to see that atmosphere and wanted to be part of it.Scouse wit is different to anywere else in the world and if you look at the kop now it isnt the same because you dont have as many born in liverpool scousers, when you never walk alone is sung today (some ) out of town kopites just want to stand and admire whats going on around them instead of joining in. Lets all stick together and i would love to see every scarf raised every game just look at celtic sometimes their fans put ours to shame. redbazza

Also you said how masch is a world-class CDM last season and the season before, and now as soon as he wants to leave he is "rubbish" "greedy" and "overrated". Regarding the necessity of supporters being scousers only - stupid f*cking bastard ! I believe this is some t**t just trying to stir things up , but just in case heres my rant : by extension the team should only be made up of scousers. Therefore when you talk , think or support the lads , exclude mentioning Shankley, Dalglish, Hansen, Souness, Whelan, Benitez, Torres, Alonso, Rush, Molby,Mascherano.......point made or shall i carry on ? Seriously , you want to rethink that stance or carry on being a t**t ?

Liverpool chairman has given 10 days notice to the Premier League so this means a suiter has been selected to buy the club and that means that it has about 14 days to run for the Premier league to check out the buyer/buyers

Kenny Haung my favourite to win as he has backing of the chinese govenment run banks.

But i also understand that the Indian Businessman has a good chance to

But either way Liverpool arn't going to stuggle for funding and lets hope that the new stadium finally gets built and the debt gone.

This is copied from another website which supposedly posts rumours given to them by a "contact". Not sure of the legitimacy.

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson hopes to complete a deal for Juventus midfielder Chrsitian Poulsen by Monday in a £5m deal, not the £6m quoted. This would pave the way for Javier Mascherano to complete his move to Inter Milan. Hodgson plans to use £10m from the Mascherano deal to add Standard Leige midfielder Steven Defour to the Liverpool midfield, adding creativity and some much needed depth to the Red's squad.

With up to £15m left from the Mascherano sale, Hodsgon will invest in a new striker to give Fernando Torres some much needed support up front. A deal for Loic Remy looks unlikely as Hodgson has limited knowledge rearding the Nice striker, with scout recommendations being his best form of judgement. He will turn his attentions to available Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar on loan with the view to a permanent £15m move. Sources believe however that AC Milan would prefer to recieve a cash deal for Huntelaar to fund their move for Man City striker Emmanuel Adebayor. It is thought that Huntelaar has many suitors, however the £15m price tag is putting off potential buyers given Huntelaar's lack of form and starts for Milan so a loan deal could be on the cards.

If a loan move for Huntelaar fails, it is likely that Hodgson will move for Giampaolo Pazzani who has recently expressed his desire to leave Sampdoria following interest from some of Europe's big guns. Pazzani's capacity to flurry defences with his ariel ability and work-rate has attracted Hodsgon and it is reported in Italy that Pazzani would be keen to link up with Fernando Torres. Sampdoria are said to want around £15m for the Italian international and Hodgson would be hoping to resolve the Huntelaar situation in time for any potential signing to start the season with Liverpool. Hodgson is willing to show faith in youngsters David N'Gog and Daniel Pacheco, and of course summer signing Milan Jovanovic but he feels more firepower is needed to given injury problems with Fernando Torres.

A loan deal for Huntelaar would free up £15m from the Mascherano sale, added to the unspent funds from other sales. This would prompt Hodgson to add to his attacking options with Royston Drenthe being on the radar. Despite Drenthe's agent denying a Facebook hoax claiming he had signed for Liverpool, Hodgson and his predecessor Benitez are both admirers of the Dutchman's talents and he can operate anywhere on the left flank. Jose Mourinho is said to be undecided on the winger's future, however a bid of around £10m could be enough to convince the Special One to sell the Dutchman, especially after the signings of wingers Pedro Leon and Angel Di Maria. Drenthe is said to be keen on linking up with close friend Ryan Babel, and fellow Dutchman Dirk Kuyt. Another options for Hodgson is highly-rated Costa Rican winger Bryan Ruiz, who plays his trade in Holland with Dutch Champions Twente. He has a £13m price-tag on his head, but £10m might just be enough to hoax Twente into selling their star man. Arda Turan has long expressed his desire to move to Anfield, and it is thought that Hodgson is considering an offer of around £12m for the Turkey winger which would be enough to attain his services. Despite his willingness to sign for Liverpool and a very affordable price tag, he isn't the top name on Hodgson's wish list.

Hodgson's planned move for Maynor Figueroa is now in doubt as Wigan are holding out for more than the proposed £5m Hodgson was offering, and it now ironically appears that Fiorentina could look to aquire the services of the Honduran left-back as a compromise to Emiliano Insua after the deal for the Argentine well through due to Insua's high personal demands. Liverpool were boosted by the return of Fabio Aurelio on a free at the weekend, being one piece of the left-back jigsaw. Hodgson is expected to turn his attentions to Lokomotiv Moscow's Russian left-back Renat Yanbayev who would be available for around £5m but he will have to move quickly as Arsenal and Barcelona are also said to be eyeing the Russian which would ignite an unwanted bidding war for Hodgson. Wayne Bridge is unlikely to sign for Liverpool as Man City want him to be part of their squad for the forthcoming season, and their asking price of £12m is putting Liverpool off. Jorge Fucile and Reto Zeigler have been mentioned, but nothing has materialised thus far. Much coveted Portugal left-back Fabio Coentrao has been linked, and Benifica have given no indication that they will sell and it is believed any fee they demand will exceed Liverpool's resources. There aren't many known options available to Hodgson, especially when working with a limited budget so he may need to snap up a bargain buy using his knowledge of the lesser leagues. The last resort would obviously be to retain Insua and hope his poor showings last season were a thing of the past. This seems unlikely but, given the fact there are little under two weeks left until Liverpool meet Arsenal at Anfield, Liverpool may see a familiar face in the left-back slot.

Considering Liverpool's poor financial situation, there still could be some signings made in this transfer window which would excite the Kopites along with the free signing of Joe Cole.

In reply to the following post
**In response to:
"if mukesh ambani is still bidding, would be great to see him as the new owner.he is the 4th richest man in the world.owns a ipl(indian premier league)cricket team which topped the league.

Yeah but they didn't win!"

Yes they did not win the IPL, but what is more important is that they have the most talented group of players (including Sachin Tendulker). This clearly demonstrates the style and mindset of the man.

P.S. He and his family is always present in the games and cheers the team at the top of their voice**

mukesh ambani only invests in stuff in which he sees a huge profit, and I believe he would be no better than the americans. As far as IPL is concerned, Tendulkar was among the five players who HAD to join there respective city/area teams as they werent initially bidded for.
And Mumbai reaching the semis was surprising!

The Huang offer is genuine, he is fronting for others, at this moment nobody apart from the board or the PL know who these people are. Hicks and GG are trying their utmost to scupper the deal as it will leave them with little or no profit. The Kirdi offer is not genuine and was bought into the public domain by GG as the banks are legally obliged to hear the offer. Hicks has put forward Rhone Group but only to delay the Huang deal, he also has friends in that Group.
If Huang gets the club for his investors you can be sure the club will be run with dignity and style.

He's in a hurry, because he wants a big season for Liverpool. He wants to give the manager funds to spend now.

The takeover will be finalised in 10 days. Martin Broughton has said the board hope "to have whittled interested parties in buying the club down to one preferred bidder inside the next 10 days." Also the club have "alerted the League to a possible change in ownership" and under new rules clubs "are obliged to give the league 10 days' notice of a takeover" and the potential new owners need to "prove they have the funds to sustain the club."

I am a massive LFC fan amd have been generally keeping up to date on LFC rumours. Liking the LFC page Ed keep up gud work mate.I hope that the Masherano deal happens soon so we can bring in some good quality players like Poulsen and Defour but i think LFC should go for Arda Turan Of Galatasary ive seen several videos of him and think he would be a very good asset to our shruggling wings as he is skillful and fast. And finally i hope that thrm selfish american owners accept a bid from This Ken Huang as he looks very promising on bringing liverpool forward. Ive got a good feeling we may Surprise a few this year as Roy seems to be strenghining the squad were as Rafa didnt.Keep up the good work Ed.

Hi guys am sure we are all very optimistic about this sudden news about the china investment coroporation buying liverpool if this happens i would love roy to turn his red army into this :

reina

johnson kjaer agger m.bastos

defour

hazard gerrard cole

torres crouch

In my opinion this team would dominate all the talk about messi kaka abidal is bollocks

messi wont leave barca and i dont think anyone will be prepared to pay 200m kaka will be in mourinho's plans and well for abidal hes way to old.

The reason i opted for crouch over aguero is simply because liverpool never should of sold him he was quality at holding the ball up, great in the air scored a few goals and i feel that him and torres would do a fantastic job. whats your guys thoughts on this team?

In Roy we trust.

04 Aug 2010 02:28:39
Just thinking, 4 "world class" signings would mean a MINIMUM £100m outlay:

The following example assumes Masch stays and fits in big names for shirt sales w English players for new PL rules:
Aguero - 35m
Ozil - £20m or James Milner - £28m
Ashley Young - £20m,
Coentrao/Gareth Bale - £25m

WONDER IF/HOW HUANG's TAKEOVER BUDGETS FOR THE KIND OF SIGNINGS HE SEEMS TO BE PROMOTING, PLUS OF COURSE A NEW STADIUM?

I do remember getting excited when the Americans bought the club....

In response to all this nonsense about being Irish, woolie back etc and not a true 'Kopite', 'Red' or whatever. Whoever wrote and/or agreed with that should hang your head(s) in shame. One of the great things about our club is that whether at home or on foreign soil we embrace all and are embraced by all. I am on holiday in US and just bumped into a lad from Cardiff who is a huge fan - it feels great to have that kind of bond. I understand the arguement that if you are a Scouser born and bred it is 'different' but as a Scouser I am also proud that we have such a huge following and am chuffed to meet our followers from all parts of the world. If we want to surpass Man U, Chelsea and the rest we need to think and act globally and be ambassadors for our team and our city. Just met a Columbian waiter and it broke my heart to hear he followed Chelsea in the EPL. To win these hearts and minds we need to reach out not marginalise. I love the club and the city and want to share it withthe world - that doesnt mean to say that those of us who go to L4 every other week will stop drinking at the Arkles or the Albert and start on the prawn sandwiches - if anything the beer will taste better becuase its part of an enduring legacy we will keep alive.

I found this on SportingIntelligence Website
A reported approach by a Chinese businessman, Jian-hua 'Kenny' Huang, to buy Liverpool is shrouded in confusion as sources in China and America have told sportingintelligence that he does not have the money to buy the club, that he declined to sign a confidentiality clause requested of all interested parties, and that "it is simply not plausible" that he can effectively strike a deal with RBS bank in order to take control.
Some reports have claimed that Huang is a billionaire and that he owns a 15 per cent stake in the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA basketball franchise.
In fact he is not a billionaire, and has never owned any shares in the Cavaliers, and there are no plans for him to own any in the future.
One source in China says: "Kenny has no capability of buying Liverpool."
A different Chinese businessman, Albert Hung, made an offer to buy a stake in the Cavaliers more than a year ago, but even that deal hasn't gone through.
"Kenny was never the main investor, nor in fact did he ever have any personal financial involvement in such a deal at all, " one source says.
Huang has a commercial connection with the Cavaliers as the middleman who introduced the Cavs to a beer company to do a sponsorship deal, but he has never owned any stake in any major sports franchise.
Huang owns a company in Hong Kong, QSL Sports Limited, which describes itself as a "sports investment company" but its simple website, which hasn't been updated in several months, ceased working today, with users given the message: "The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/ her bandwidth limit."
QSL Sports Limited's main interests to date have been in promoting China's second-tier semi-professional basketball league (the NBL), and in promoting a new Chinese youth league in baseball (CYBL); baseball is still a fledgling sport in the country.
Until May this year, QSL's co-founder and primary financial backer was a bona fide billionaire businessman, Adrian Cheng, whose family have been ranked by Forbes as the 112th richest family in the world, worth $7.7bn.
But Cheng and Huang parted company two months ago and a QSL statement at the time said: "QSL co-founder Mr. Adrian Cheng will no longer be involved in QSL's businesses and development and its related charitable foundations. QSL will now be 100 per cent owned by Mr. Kenny Huang."
Skeptical sources in China claim that Huang only came to prominence as a front man for an unnamed wealthy Hong Kong family within the past couple of years and that he no longer has that association.
Sources in London with an understanding of what Kenny Huang apparently hopes to achieve at Liverpool say he has offered to effectively buy Liverpool's debt of £237m from RBS, cutting out any involvement in a formal bidding process being handled by Barclays Capital under the direction of Liverpool's chairman Martin Broughton.
Yet even those close to Huang cannot explain how buying the debt from RBS would definitely hand him or his backers control of the club. One RBS source described as "absolute bollocks" the idea that RBS would unilaterally sell Liverpool's debt to Huang or had been involved in advanced talks to do so.
The club's American owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, owe RBS £237m as a result of what was effectively their leveraged buyout, and the pair have also subsequently leant Liverpool another £144m via a Cayman Islands branch of their Liverpool investment vehicle, according to accounts for the financial year ending summer 2009.
It has been claimed that Huang has the backing of an unnamed Asian sovereign wealth fund, which if true could put billions at his disposal. The operative words are "if true".
If an Asian sovereign wealth fund wanted to buy Liverpool, why would it not go via conventional channels, namely BarCap and Broughton?
Why would it use Huang as a front man, when he has no previous history of sports deals on the scale of a Premier League football club?
Why would it let him effectively manage its funds?
These are all questions that may or may not be answered in the coming weeks.
Liverpool insiders at the highest level insist there are multiple interested parties involved in talks about buying the club and that a preferred bidder should emerge in due course, perhaps within a few weeks.
Due diligence on any bidder, and their ability to take to club forward, specifically in funding a new 60, 000-plus seat stadium that could cost up to £400m "is of the utmost importance, now more than ever" one source said.
"There is formal process and BarCap runs it, " said another source. "You cannot simply go to RBS or Wachovia or Bank of America and try to do a unilateral deal because it won't work and it won't stack up.
"Mr Huang did not want to sign a confidentiality agreement and you have to ask why."
A source who knows Huang well said: "Kenny is good at making deals, as in facilitating deals for other people. He would certainly be capable of bringing people together. But Kenny is also very, very good at promoting Kenny."

In response to the above

To all the fans who read this crap! Go to the website This Is Anfield.com (VERY RELIABLE) were they have an article on how George Gillett is trying to discredit Kenny Huang to hold up the sale to the Chinese Investment Corperation.

Remember this is the same site that broke the Chinese bid on Sat night then the papers printed it on Sunday.

All of the LFC fans wherever they come from should be treated just as they are, Liverpool fans. It shouldn't matter where they are from if they back the club and follow it whatever the situation. We're 1 big family as far as I'm concerned and should treat and respect each other as such. We get enough s*** off other teams fans and the media! YNWA to all Reds fans and players alike. Fingers crossed all goes well and we shall be mauling opponents in the new season whatever the case : D x

not a rumour but a statement.
i as a true red and die hard fan of the greatest club in the world am dismayed at the posts stating keep the kop scouse.
i am a born scouser now living in mancland and cannot understand this view, i have stood and sat on the kop since my first game in 1973 as a 7 year old and love the fact that kopites are true football fans united in the love for LFC and the beautiful game and the appreciation of good football wether by the reds or any opponent.Remember tottenham beating us 2-1 in the fa cup and Klinsmann was brilliant scored the winner and received a standing ovation from "the greatest fans in the world, i was nearly crying" his words not mine - how many of those fans were from Liverpool ? how many were true reds and true football fans - everyone of them. So get off your high horse and remember it is a privilage to follow this great club and anyone from wherever in the world has the rite and honour to be associated with being a Kopite or an Anny roader or anywhere else they may sit within anfield.in my years on the kop i have stood with the Derby branch of the supporters clubs and with lads from Leeds,Bradford and Carlisle and everyone of those lads was/are true kopites yet not one of them a scouser, dont be mistaken being scouse is one thing being a kopite is another and that does not undermine either as both are so important to a scouser and a kopite living in mancland.
there i have had my rant now lets concentrate on the club anx hope the yanks go home as soon as poss - torres is staying things are on the up

If anyone has a source that is telling them messi is going to sign or even thinks there is a possability of him signing then you should throw it away, it's well past it's sell by date!

However If the take over happens I do think a big signing will be attempted but it definatley won't messi. I also think that Roy may not make any signings straight away if he believes a take over is imminent as he may Want to see what funds he gets given.

I did not knwo they sold drugs that messed with your thoguhts so much you actually wrote this.
"After the takeover is complete i can see a vast amount of top signings

Aguero 25million (round 90k a week again)= 4.32million a year- possible he is only 22 so many years to come
kaka 40million (just under 200k a week i would imagine) 9.6million a year never happen 28 to old would cost atleast 70 real want him and he was no good last season
turan 12million (40k a week)=1.92million a year waste of space
messi has a 200million euro buyout clause which even city couldnt afford (id say around 220k a week)=10.56million a year would never leave barcelona when he was 14 the owners payed for his mother cancer treatment so he will never leave while the owners are in power
forlan 15million (80k a week)=3.84million a year 31 way to old and is a waste of money.
ramos 25-30million (110k a week)=5.28million a year no defender worth more than 15m
roanaldo 80-90million (is on 240thousand euros a week)=10.56million a year would cost atleast 110m and a devil at heart
A.Cole 30million (would be on around 90k a week i imagine)=4.32million a year to much and will not be sold
Arteta 15million (currently offered 65k a week)=3.12million a year piece of crap plays for everton
Piennar 12million (50k a week? not to sure)=2.4million a year same as arteta but crappier
why not just buy higuain and navas for about 50m combined and use the rest to pay off debt and build new stadium

just nipped out for sum bread to the local petrol station.....listen to Talk Sport in the car...
The news headlines were that "Liverpool FC have contacted the Premier League about a possible takeover".....
This is due to a new rule brought in by the FA that they need 10 days notice of any possible ownership or managerial change. Due to the fiasco that was going on at Portsmouth last season. Not my words.....Talk Sports.

Just to make it clear that Kenny Huang is not the potential new owner of LFC, he is only the frontman for the consortium that look to take control of the club. Kenny Huang will never state that he is interested in Liverpool because he does not operate like that, he chooses to stay out of the limelight. Now his plan is to gain the backing of a number of selected board members at the club and approach RBS directly and takeover Liverpools debt which is believed to be in the region of 300-350 million pounds. If he was succesfull with this it would make him and the consortium the major creditors of Liverpool Football Club to which Tom Hicks and George Gillet would have to repay the debt to. Know it is highly likely that Hicks and Gillet cannot afford the repayment with RBS so there is no way they would be able to repay the new creditors. This would result in Kenny Huang and his consortium being able to repocess the club from the Americans and have them walk away from the club with nothing which i am sure would make all Liverpool supporters very happy.

Now just to warn all Liverpool fans that Mr Huang does not go around flashings his millions. He is a very wise investor which means he takes no gamble and only invests what he see's necessary. Like all his investments he will take the role of chairman or the co-chairman. Mr Huang has had access to the books at Liverpool before so he is the front runner out of all the current bidders. It is believed that Liverpool informed the Premier League of a potential takeover on the 3rd of August.

Roy Hodgson is intrested in bringing back vetran full back John Arne Riise back to Anfield as he needs another left back with premier league experience. Riise would cost around £4m but could rise to £5m due to add ons. He would welcome a return back to his beloved Liverpool after there have been reports he is unhappy at his current club Roma. The new Liverpool boss is also keeping a close eye on Ryan Shawcross as he is a big fan of the Stoke skipper and wants more English talent to add to his squad.

Liverpool are lining up a bid for Middlesbrough Goalkeeper Brad Jones! They are also close to signing Juventus midfielder Christian Poulsen for 6million. The 2 other groups interested in buying Liverpool are the Rhone Group and the Al Kharafi Family. Expect Javier Mascherano to be gone by the end of this week, as soon as the Balotelli deal goes through.

I've heard this from a friend of mine who works for barcap that the story of huang trying to buy the debt is just the media guessing at what his offer entails. What i have been told is that he has approached the current board with a direct offer i dont have the value of the sed offer but he says it probably is nowhere near the £800m qouted by hicks. This huang chap apparently has been working like a madman to get this through, he contacted gerrard and torres in the early summer when speculation of ther departure was rife. He reassured them that he was preparing an offer that will mean liverpool could become a force again. He then set about instructing various partyys connected about his interest and apparently up to two weeks ago began discussions re a possible price (15th july broughton mentioned middle of july for first bids) the club have been assured of his interest and advised to press on with targets as funds will be available, they have even gone as far as to try and gauge interest even to discussion proposals of contracts i heard a spain based player (purslow was in madrid might not have anything to do with huang though could just be coincedence.) The timing of these announcements tally up as well his bid came to general media knowledge monday, bid confirmed and broughton
also confirmed that "several offers" had been made, prem league annunce new rules meaning ten days notice must be given (liverpool contacted the prem league today re a possible takeover - confirmed on ssn) and Huang himself said his personal deadline was 10 days! coincidence or pieces of a deal coming together? ED top idea giving us a seperate site!!

I wish the Arda Turan rumours would stop. It's never going to happen. Liverpool have never shown interest in him, all that happened was he said he'd like to play for Liverpool. Anyone who thinks that Roy Hodgson would make such a risky, expensive purchase has no idea about the way he manages.

To whoever said this, Andy Johnson was an expensive risk (that backfired) at Fulham, Kevin Davies an expensive risk at Blackburn...

Not a rumour but a comment. I am optimistic about the future now as we seem to be moving in the right direction. One of the things i am really impressed with is the number of very talented and exciting young reds beginning to make their mark in the reserves and the fringes of the first team squad. Watched the boys again tonight at Tranmere.
Young guys like Robinson, Cooper, Silva, Ince, and Soso to name a few are outstanding. I look forward to see them in the first team over the next few years.

:L :L :L liverpool fans getting chuffed, it's not happened yet.. and do you really wanna turn into a chelsea/ man city/ real madrid/ barcelona team?

I wouldn't mind being Barcelona or real Madrid! As long as huang completes the takeover and does what he says he will then I'm happy and I think every other lfc fan would be.
