Carroll not playing in the Europa League suggests a club in Europe is his more likely destination i.e. Newcastle or AC Milan rather than Fulham or West Ham. - Dini

Not necessarily :L For all we know Carroll could be staying!!

Is it not the case that a player can play for one team during the qualifying rounds and register for the group stages with a different team? {Ed002's Note - Not quite.}

Even if he had played against Gomel, he could have still played for another team in the group stages ie Newcastle

I believe they can register with a different team IF their original team is no longer in the competition - in other words if we get beaten by Gomel or whoever we may face in the next round.

Or I could be completely mistaken¦

Verdad

It dont matter if he plays he can still play for other clubs in euro cups as its only as it dont count in quil rounds ...

Carroll will go to ac milan the day heskey signs for barcelona. NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN

ESPN: Carroll wants Liverpool stay

"Carroll is not even tempted by the massive eight-year contract on offer from West Ham that in total would be worth an astonishing £36 million. The Hammers were willing to break their own wage structure to sign Carroll, having agreed terms with Liverpool.

However, a well-placed ESPN source said on Monday: 'Andy is staying at Liverpool for sure.'"

Ed002 (if your on). You told me a while back that Agger could be off. You also told me that Amorebieta could be a possible replacement. Do you know how far our interest is, concerning Amorebieta?

Thanks mate

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - Enquiries were made a few weeks back before the tour - interest is genuine.}

His representatives said that Liverpool asked about the availability of Fernando Amorebieta for transfer as well as the interest he has to play for Liverpool.

Comments attributed to Luis Suarez on the Liverpool FC News twitter site (yes - needs a pinch of salt) strongly suggest that he will stay with us next season

Red Machine

I don't have twitter do you mind posting what was said?

You are telling us something which we already know

Again as we all know things do change but i believe Skrtel will sign a new contract..

There is a very good chance Agger will be sold (£20 million plus)

There is interest in Walcott, not sure how strong..

We are trying to sign 4 players plus Allen and a loan signing..

Cheers

Macca
{Ed033's note - confirmed as the real Macca

I hope ye wrong on agger mate he is by far r best defender and his style of play soutes Rodgers down to the ground. Cheers for the info tho mate. ( got agger on my sons shirt so that would make me wounded even more ha ha )

Thx for the info would you have any idea were agger might leave for city or abroad ?

also think walcott might be a good signing

It sounds exciting except for Agger. But I feel hard to believe we can do that many deals (6) in 25 days.

AJ

Is that 4 including borini?

I would prefer Agger to stay and Skrtel to be sold if I'm honest. Defenders of Aggers class are very rare.

Do you know if Agger is being sold because he won't sign a new contract, has he said he wants to leave or do we feel he will generate the highest transfer fee?

Thanks for your info.

JRG

Personally would bring in Walcott, Allen, Dempsey, Caulker.

Jeez! That will put em into overdrive!

4 more players or 4 including Borini?

Depending on the calibre of players (obv!) I'd be very content with this amount of activity...

Hope one is bolt! We could do with some pace in the squad!

Thanks as always for the updates mate. Your posts are much appreciated by myself and other true reds. Please ignore any mindless comments and don't let it put you off keeping up in the loop.

Great news. Can you give any more info on the loan signing?

What about outgoings? some time ago you mention that after the US tour quite a few would leave. any news about that?

cheers, Joet

What about Suarez, Cole and Carroll

Does Agger want to leave then?

Where is agger likely to go ? :) hope not city

When u say 4 signings does this include allen and the loan or not {Ed049's Note - read it carefully}

Is this latest info mate? I'm assuming some of your recent posts didn't actually come to fruition then and there has been a bit of a change of plan?

Who the loan signing runour been going around for a while now

Ed would you see us then go for amorebieta if agger goes as he plays similar pos and is left footed?DORSET RED {Ed049's Note - There is a Possibility}

Pity about Agger but as long as we get over 20m and can invest it then we can't stand in his way - I hope it's to Barca.

4 signings plus Allen and a loan!! That's a lot of deals to get sorted in such a short period of time.

That many, really? super happy right now. is higuain a possibility?

I'd sell Skrtel over Agger everyday. If he goes them we'd better have someone decent lined up. Wonder if Lescott would be part of any deal?

Gav the Red

Agger is off to barca or city...ive heard this also through a friend of a lfc player. also carroll is off to london, he doesnt want to go back to newcastle.
carl85

That's not to bad but I hope we don't go after Walcott as he will be overpriced and want ridiculous wages. He isn't really that good either.

Wowzers 7 players ...i really hope ramirez is one of them and if this star loan player is actually a star we could be a force next season can u imagine borini suarez and david villa front 3 with gerrard lucas and gaston ramirez behind them ... carrolls barber !

I think i cried a little bit :/ Selling Danny Agger, what is up with that?

So we got rid of Maxi,Kuyt, perhaps Carroll and Agger but keep downing!?

Seriously, i would take Kuyt or Maxi over Walcott. The only thing to make this better is if these players coming in are SUPERSTARS. The likes of Gaston Ramirez, Kaka, Adebayor, Joe Allen and Sahko or Alvaro Perriera. I would then be satified with the business.

I would presume that Agger would be forced out rather than him wanting to leave.

LFCHero ;)!

A signing on average every four days before the window shuts. Nicely nicely! Although most will probably be done on Aug 31st

Macca was right about Rodgers when he was ruled out of the running for liverpools new manager.he was right about Coates,borini and others.

I think this will clear a bit up. He said trying to sign so it wouldn't be borini (already signed). The 4 players don't include Allen and the star loanee. That should mean a total of 6 players to be signed. My guesses are:
Allen
Dempsey
Amorobieta(spelling)
The star loanee
A fullback
CAM/ST (depending on who the loanee is)

Losing agger would be massive but i hope kelly can step up! other than that all exciting action and rodgers is the man to help walcotts decision making and he can undoubtedly inject some needed sheer pace.
abc123

I'd be seriously disappointed in BR if he makes the decision to sell Agger. It's one thing for a player to demand a move away but I really don't see this as being the case in this instance.

Last season should have taught us that he was a massive loss when he was injured. £20 million for me would not be enough to buy a top class replacement. At some point, in the not too distant future, we will have to realise that we cannot build and attract top players if we become known as a selling club.

Good players attract other good players. No-one will sign for LFC to line up alongside Spearing, Adam or Downing. All the other big teams retain the services of their best players while we seem to be a feeder club for them when they need strengthened.

I love Agger too but 20+ mill for an injury prone 28 year old defender. I say yes. Now we can play Kelly at CB. Cant wait for some movement. I am not sure we need 6 players, winger and striker would suit me, Higuain and Munain.
Andrew

First Alonso, now Agger - tremendous! Let's sell all my favourite players! Our form collapsed last season when he was injured, so why we would let him go beggars belief. BR, if you're reading this, sort it out. Selling our best players has NOT worked in recent times.

Isn't 4 players plus Allen 5 players?

Amorobieta
Walcott
Allen
Quaresma
"the looooaaaaan signing!!" - Afellay !?!?!?

"rodgers is the man to help walcotts decision making"

And what is Arsene Wenger? A sunday league manager with no experience in developing players?

I think Walcott is poor but I'm slightly warming to the idea of pace in the side. If you have some idea that Walcott will suddenly become a better player when he signs for Liverpool I think you might be very disappointed.

Hopefully he will fit into a system and play his part in making the team greater than the sum of its parts.

'I think this will clear a bit up. He said trying to sign so it wouldn't be borini (already signed)'

This didn't really clear things up, he could have been referring to the past tense as this could have been the objective at the start of preseason. So getting Borini in was one of the four. Sorry to be finicky, just can't stand condescension!

ANNNYWAY. My realistic hope is for Amorebieta, Pereira, either M'Vila, Capoue, or Moussa Sissoko, and Afelley, plus Allen, and the loan signing to be a top forward like Villa.
Adam,Agger,Spearing, and Carroll can go

05 Aug 2012 23:53:12
I believe after this bit of news from Macca us as fans should now all be looking in the same direction an trust lfc until the end of the transfer window i was optimistic but didn't think we would be this busy i know agger leaving is a blow but that is a good price for lfc. i may be wrong but since agger signed he has averaged 23 games a season. as long as an adequate replacement is bought we will cope any player can be replaced look at Ronaldo.

i know i feel horrible for sayin his name on this page but there are plenty of quality defenders out there i would love hummels from dortmund! Quality and young hopefully any one of the signings or loan may get 20 goals a season. We create plenty of chances we just need a clinical finisher i don't care what his name is or how much he costs as long as he does a job. Allen will be a great addition an imo 3 very young and promising midfielders in Allen Henderson an shelvey who could stick around for the next 10 years.

Thanks Macca.

05 Aug 2012 23:54:00
20mill+ isnt bad for Agger tho. 4 Players + allan and aloan signing, very interesting. Thanks Macca, appreciate it

05 Aug 2012 23:55:15
Cheers Macca and great info. I hope we go for Walcott, there just isn't enough credit given to him, he is still young and miles better than Downing.
I think given his injury problems then 20m for Agger is fine if we buy a replacement.
Building a young attack minded side to challenge for years to come, FSG and Rodgers are going to return us to our roots.
Thanks again Macca, I hope you are optimistic also?
ALB.

06 Aug 2012 00:00:31
Wow, surprised that they would let Agger go rather than Skirtel but I guess if some one gives us £20mil plus and with his injury record it's too good an offer to refuse. Thanks for the info as always Macca, top stuff.

Ali, London Red

06 Aug 2012 00:01:39
Cheers Macca,

Hoping Allen signs as I think he will prove to be a fantastic acquisition.

I think we need a good 5 or 6 players but need to make sure we clear out the players who aren't good enough.

Macca can you confirm anything on Ramirez? We keep hearing all the rumours, but do we have any concrete interest in him?

Andy

Like most posters here, I'd rather keep Agger and sell Skerts. Would really like to get Kelly and Coates in that back 4, though, and 20M ain't bad. Hope he goes to Spain, however, as I'd prefer not to have to play him twice a year.

I think
Allen; CM
Amorebieta; CBL
Walcott; Winger/ Forward/ Striker
Quaresma; Winger/ WF
Vargas; LB/ LM/ LWF
Loan signing; CM or AM or ST

Those people assuming we're signing Quaresma, please don't he's awful and a bit of me dies every time someone names him as a signing.

Gutted about Agger but is coates or kelly not a perfect replacement? Also can't decide if we're frugil or a bit slow in the transfer market.

Lets be honest about agger, class cb on his day, but last season was a good season for him considering injurys hes had before and he still missed a month, very injury prone and getting on abit now, good deal for me! one good thing coming from it if he goes to man city - adam johnson!? but for now lets see what BR does, i believe in him and think hes got the right things to get the job done! 6 players would be good number thinking about outgoing and everything!

Can't believe all the so called fan's wanting to let Danny Agger go! The lad is Red through and through! Not only that he's the best defender we've had since big Sami Hyppia! Every player has his price hey! What has LFC become? A feeder club that's what! A very disappointed and worried fan!

How hard are we trying to sign these players and allen who i believe is quality,if we lose agger even 20 million it is still a loss do you think walcott is good enough,thanks..

red blancmonge

06 Aug 2012 01:15:08
All I'd say on this is if Agger is considering leaving and we're going to get 20 mill plus lets take the money and move on. Is he world class? Yes! Can we replace him? Arguably yes but with great difficulty. Truth is we are in a rebuilding process and as fans we need to get behind BR and the club and trust their decision making. If this time next year it's all gone wrong then is the time to p*** and moan but not now.

06 Aug 2012 01:16:03
we may end up with Allen, Dempsey,Walcott,Ramirez,Vargas and the "star signing" who ever it may be?

06 Aug 2012 01:18:06
Agger maybe sold...! Oh man..! Macca you are legend but I'll pray that you get this one wrong... He along with Suarez and Gerrard are only players we have who can be called world class.. It will be really heartbreaking... Well lets hope something good comes out of this..

06 Aug 2012 02:06:00
Thx Macca, has much has I like Agger, if we are offered £20m+ for a injury prone CB we need to take it. Hopefully he go's to Barca?
Lee73

Walcott scores an easy 10 goals+ from the wing every season I don't know why people are complaining about us being after him. Selling Agger is a big move by BR but I for one and 100% behind him on this, I think Agger played 27 games last season? And that has been his best season injury-wise, we can't rely on him. If we could get £20m+ with the way the spanish market is we could get a very good defender for half that.

06 Aug 2012 01:16:58
Macca, Thanks for all the information that you provide it is appreciated. I have 2 questions if you have the time. First I really see Thomas Muller as a possible option for Liverpool is he someone that your contacts have spoken about at all?

Also, Do you believe that Glen Johnson will be moving on from Liverpool this summer? I like him but with his contract clause stating something like he will always be selected if he is healthy does not sit well with me.

Thank you for the response and have a good evening.

Coley

06 Aug 2012 01:19:42
Cheers Macca, I'm sure you've said all you can but just thought I'd ask, do you know if we've any interest in Adam Johnson?

Chris in Tamworth

06 Aug 2012 01:20:37
Thanks for the info and putting your neck on the line Macca. Much appreciated. I think we can presume one of the four would be a replacement for Agger. Hopefully where ever he chooses to go he gets injured, ( I am not bitter at all about losing one of the best ball playing defenders in the EPL if not the world.haha) Nah, I wish him well..20 mill can do a lot..Hopefully at least one of the other 3 has the potential to be a prolific goal scorer and someone that could add pace. Thanks again.YNWA

Macca also told us Bellers could be off to Cardiff. Hope you're wrong Macca mate but don't think you are.

Thanks for the info mate and the Eds.

06 Aug 2012 01:50:03
Would be bit gutted to see agger leave.
hopefully will be to barca.

but 20mil+ for a injury prone 28year old isn't bad.

Cant wait too see the suppose loan star as well.

Hope the ball gets rolling very soon.

thanks Macca

Pugz

06 Aug 2012 01:52:13
I can go to bed happy now that ive got my Macca info fix lol

Dissapointed about Agger but if we get 20 mil for a player who spends a good bit of time out injured it wouldn't be too bad. I am pleased that Rodgers wants six players, shows he understand we need a overhaul.
K-Man

Allen
Sakho
Vargas
Walcott
Schurrle
Villa on loan

I've read of Agger publicly criticising Torres about the way he left Liverpool and the disrespect he shown by going to a rival so I trust Agger won't go to Man City. I really will be gutted if he leaves because he is truly world class and I can't think of any players that could realistically fill his boots.

I also worry that over recent years we've lost some world class players without replacing them with another. Alonso and Torres have never been replaced, as well as Mascherano to some extent.

R-LFC

Has a Liverpool supporter, i'm not sure wether to laugh or cry at the moment!!
Lee73

Lol R-LFC, i agree with you that Alonso and Torres havent been replaced, but Mascherano was replaced about 2-3 seasons back by Lucas. The form Lucas is in, who gives a damn about Javier??.
What does Masherano do that Lucas cant eh??. Infact Lucas is much quicker and he is more technical as Mascherano loses his temperament easily and also is rabid in his tackles, Lucas is more cautious and makes the right tackles in the right moment....

I also worry that over recent years we've lost some world class players without replacing them with another. Alonso and Torres have never been replaced, as well as Mascherano to some extent.

I totally agree mate.
Hope Agger stays

{Ed006's Note - Suarez and Carroll replaced Torres.}

20 million for an injury prone 28 yr old defender is a good price. Personally I don't think Agger and Skrtel are that solid as a pair. I think Pepe helps them out a lot. Agger has a good technique for a defender but his defending is his weakest part of his game. Get Kelly in I say and use the 20 million to improve the squad.

{Ed006's Note - There is no doubt in my mind that Pepe does not help them out. Reina was one of the worst 'keepers in the league last season. Without the pair we would have been worse off last season.}

Selling are best players ,god help us ,we cant buy quality we just sell it ,not impressed at all with are dealings over the last 5 years,we will wait another 22 years to win the prem,no other club sells players like us & cheap aswell.

06 Aug 2012 11:36:37
I posted about Walcott last week and got shot down.

Allen is done bar the shouting and pretty sure Dempsey will sign. A couple of defenders have been targeted to replace Agger or Skrtel and as I said last week we are open to offers for Downing (Sunderland?) with Scott Sinclair a possible for left side. I think the loan targets are Affelay and Pato. One of the loans and Walcott dependent on Carroll sale I was told.

Thanks for the update Macca.

If LFC is selling Agger, I hope its Barca.

Cash + loan deal for Agger?

Thank you for your post Macca.

Thanks Macca for the info. Much appreciated.

Hope we sign some decent players that would push us to big things.

Chaki

06 Aug 2012 13:05:53
Thanks for the info Macca
Note he said trying to sign ! Things change and a lot of the time do not develop.
Fingers crossed

06 Aug 2012 13:10:06
Thanks Macca, great news in my opinion! If it all comes off that means another 7 signings like last summer! I just hope they give BR more time than they did Kenny to work on this team and rebuild it as it wont happen over night!

I don't want us to become a selling club and be without trophies like Arsenal but we did win something last year and think we still have enough quality to do it again this year! We missed Lucas more than Agger and eventhough I love Agger if we got £20million and Richards (Macca's post said possibly plus a player) like someone said the other day I think that would be great! Agger is unfortunately too injury prone and we don't want to rely on someone like that! Remember when Owen tore his hamstring and we didn't have a plan b the goals dried up!

I think as the ED002 reckons only Walcott is one he didn't know of in a more recent post the 6 players could be:

Allen
Star Loan (I wouldn't like to guess)
Walcott
Amorebieta
Vargas
Richards/A. Johnson (part of the Agger deal)

Vargas cover for Enrique and can play Left-Wing, Walcott is our 4th striker (hoping Morgan gets more of a look in as striker number 5) as every club needs 4 good strikers, Allen hopefully means Spearing might go out on loan to improve his awareness, Amorebieta cover for Agger and Johnson or Richards would be an extra plus to the team! I am probably horribly wrong but just wishful thinking! Lol

JonBoy6
YNWA JFT96

Genuinely not looking forward to this season. We are, bit by bit, selling off our class players and keeping dross and buying mediocrity. What is depressing most is that the players being linked with moves away are the likes of Agger and Suarez yet we will probably keep Cole, Adam, Downing, Spearing et al. If anyone cannot see that this is a recipe for mid table mediocrity or worse then you're being naive or stupid.

{Ed006's Note - Suarez and Carroll replaced Torres.}

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No they haven't. No body has replaced his goals mate. Allen to replace Alonso and bring some assured possession and clockwork ticking to our midfield!

{Ed006's Note - No you are right but as strikers they have replaced him.}

05 Aug 2012 20:34:25
Carrolls going nowhere FACT!.. Just been told BR has had a change of heart after seeing him in training.

RobJ

Doubt training would have helped him....have you seen him warm up?

Or big Andy has told BR he's going to knuckle down and stop partying in Newcastle.

Either way, I hope he gets another season.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Who told you that? Your best mate Steven Gerrard?

Why does everybody write "FACT" we know you are telling porkies

Hope this is true but doubt there would be a change in heart due to performances in training. {Ed049's Note -

I really hope you are right. Big Andy has a point to prove and I want to see him do it in a red shirt.

Well he won't go to West Ham and Newcastle won't cough up anymore so he'll have to stay now.

05 Aug 2012 19:40:54
100% guaranteed Bellamy has left Liverpool....probably to Cardiff. Moved out of his apartment and family back in South Wales already.

Aggressive will go, hearing a price has been agreed.

Who is agressive?

I heard this elsewhere also.

Obviously he would be useful for the coming season but he's not gonna be here in the long term, so we should take the opportunity to collect a small fee and move on. I have a feeling given his olympic exploits he might struggle later in the season for fitness.

Yea cos no footballer has more than one house, could bell be there because thats where the football was played and now has a few days off, as for agger, a new contract is being worked on

His family live in South Wales, I know his son.

I know that's rubbish for a start as his family have never left Cardiff when he joined us last summer

He is renting and his family never moved to Liverpool. It was in one of those profiling interviews a few months back

About 2 seasons ago, Bell said his knees could only go on for another couple of years or so, at a top league. He spent one season at Cardiff (Championship or League 1, can't remember) and another with us. If we can sell him at this stage (something I don't really want to see), I think it is a pretty good deal for us.

In short, my heart wants him to stay, my mind thinks he should go.

05 Aug 2012 19:19:09
eds do u reckon there will be some news on allen 2morro and wats going in with dempsey {Ed002's Note - I am sure there will be news fairly soon on Allen - I cannot say if it will be tomorrow. As for Dempsey I understand Liverpool remain interested but not at the price Fulham want - Roma and Wolfsburg are also interested.}

05 Aug 2012 17:19:36
I live not far from Andy Carroll and on the way to Crosby Beach yesterday his house was for sale

Eds is it loan or permanent? And who's his replacement I'm still holding on for Walcott or Johnson {Ed002's Note - A sale id more likely I think.}

What the same Andy carroll who lives in kevin Nolan's house in allerton??

Mpc

Ahhh the old property gag

Multi millionaire footballers always have selling their old house at the top of their agenda, even before they know if or where they're going for sure.

Funny that, I live 2 minutes from Andy Carrols house in Blundellsands, Crosby and his house is not for sale ! He rents the house from a local estate agents so stop talking crap.

Why do you have to bull? Can't you just ask the question without the made up backstory?

Carroll has been renting a house in Blundellsands since he arrived and the house has been for sale throughout his tenancy, although I believe that Carroll has just completed the purchase of the same property. LeighT

I always thought he was renting a house in Rufford, small place near me in Burscough? Not saying im right, just saying iv obviously been mistaken, which i dont mind admitting.

Anfield Andy

He rents his house mate, so unlucky with ur attention seeking

Yeah his house is only rented from an estate agents, I live down the same road (hall road)

Well when Andy first came he was renting Steven Gerrards old house, it had been for sale for ever due to the fact that it was 4.3 million or something ridiculous. The house is worth about half that. After Andy moved in the house went off the market, I do not know if he bought it or whether he is still renting. The house does not appear to be for sale at the moment. The one next door is - for anyone who wants it it is just under two million

Hi, if malaga are as cash strapped as the press are making out to be and are selling there star players i.e rondon and carzola, is there any chance liverpool could be interested in isco, if we signed him we would have creativity from midfield sorted for many years and if malaga really are in financial ruin he won't be as expensive as he otherwise would have been, i hope we put a bid in or hold some interest in him, he has more potential than ramirez and any other cretaive midfielder we have been linked with. Any interest from liverpool in him?, i would be overjoyed if there is, i doubt it though - Cheers BB {Ed002's Note - I would doubt it. Sorry.}

Hi eds! Have the club ever thought of going for arda turan? Thanks for your time. Paul {Ed002's Note - Back in the day, yes. However, they decided not to.}

I was having a few beers on friday on the Wirral, few of Jay Spearings mates were in the alehouse, one of them was shouting his mouth off that Agger is defo on his way, take it with a pinch of salt though some of his other mates reckoned Lucas was a dead cert to go to Inter last season.....Rodders

And he is staying put.. big Joke tell his pals to ask him to leave the club..

I am trying to work out why BR would go to the bother of playing Agger in a "behind closed doors" match if he was going to sell him.
Does not sound logical to me.

Can we send Wee Jay on his way?

Did his mates say wether Spearing was definitely going ? If only.....

What ale house was this in?

What was his mates name Merry and Pippin.

Why isn't Spearing on the move?

We really need to give BR a chance, in regards to whether or not he is trying to bring players from Swansea or not, I don't see what's wrong with this, Benitez brought players he knew from the Spanish league and as I remember there was a lot of negative voices about that, especially a young midfielder by the name of Alonso, not good enough for Liverpool, to lightweight etc etc, give it time you'll never walk alone isn't a catchy corporate slogan, it's because together we are stronger, time to show some faith

Make there's a difference. Spain is a whole country who a few years later went on to become european and world championships. Swansea is one team who are punching above their weight.

Not one person ever said Alonso was too lightweight and not good enough for Liverpool. His quality was apparent from the very first game he played against Bolton, and he turned the game round when he was brought on as sub when we were getting beat by Fulham in his home debut.

Benitez won few titles before coming to lfc. We are worried becuz we saw paul konchesky and poulsen. We are also worried cuz lucas moura, oscar, hazard, cazorla, kagwa have joined our rivals and we may not be able to attract players of their calibre. I hope these worries wee proven wrong and we get some quality.

Alonso was a hit from his first touch. Players like Josemi, Nunez, Morientes, and too an extent Garcia were deemed too lightweight and not good enough. But they never came good either!

Moura, Oscar, Hazard etc. was never an option for Liverpool this season. As a top player, you want to join a club, who is at the top. Liverpool is far from the top of the league and champions league(still the best club in the world, but I am a bit biased maybe..). Get real - we need to rebuild the club on and of the pitch. Which is happening at the moment. That takes time. Brace yourself og get behind the club and trust that they know a bit more about buisness and football than you. Have faith or start supporting Man s***ty.
Its like upbringing your children all over again.. Jesus!

Comparing rafa + bodgers is like comparing pele with pual konchesky

We all have concerns about signings whether they are gonna be a hit or not, but couldn't agree more with parts of this post! We are LFC and we need to be like a team!

How someone can say Morientes was lightweight, he was one of the best in Europe and people were over the moon we signed him, unfortunately he didn't live up to standards! So can we all stop thinking we know it all and have detailed analysis on every player and trust the guy who has spent his lifetime studying the sport and players and get behind him! Otherwise as someone else said, go and support Man City if you want instant success!

JonBoy6
YNWA JFT96

I have my support for the manager, but i doubt the intention of the owners.

'How someone can say Morientes was lightweight, he was one of the best in Europe and people were over the moon we signed him, unfortunately he didn't live up to standards!'

I said it, and youve just basically said yourself he was a flop! Great player, too lightweight for the premier league. Have a spine, have an opinion, rather than sitting there like a nodding dog in the back window of a car!

The major difference is benitez spanish league as a whole rogers swansea 1 mid table team benitez torres alonso arbeloba reina ect rodgers borrini williams allen sinclair

To the post above, u only mentioned 4 players rafa signed out of about 70 odd players, what about players like dossena, pennant, Nunez, voronin, ngog and so on, it's easy to make rafa sound better when u only mention the success stories, u also criticise bucks interests before a ball has even been kicked, how about we just let him get on with his job and support him and see what journey he takes us all on

Firstly no-one said Alonso was lightweight, he was excellent from the get go and you could see his quality right away. Secondly comparing Rafa taking players from the spanish league to BRod taking swansea players is ridiculous. Spanish players wanted to play for Rafa because he was a 2 x la liga winning coach and champions league winner. No-one wants to play for BRod barre Swansea players and ex chelsea reserve players, what does that say about Rodgers?

"I said it" - LMAO yeah but you still don't have the bottle to put your name when you write a post! Typical negative fan who doesnt want the abuse! If you actually read my post and worked out what I was saying was that everybody THOUGHT Morientes would be a success and wasn't so therefore Allen or whoever else BR wants to sign that people dont think are good enough could turn out great!

All I am saying is no one can tell how good or crap someone is gonna be from their last team! Football doesn't work like that I have played with fantastic players and when they go to another team they are shocking!

As or nodding dog comment, grow up lad!

Let's judge BR when he leaves rather than before he has properly started!

JonBoy6

JonBoy, I don't have a moniker like yourself, but I will work on one to give my posts some more validity! For the time being, I will refer to myself as 'Negative Fan 1!'

I just get really annoyed when people confuse negativity with having an opinion! Having an opinion is essential to ensuring that the people running the club are held to account for their decisions. If we all sat here typing 'great news, we're signing Ashley Williams from Swansea, I'm made up!!' then we wouldn't be acting in the clubs best interests. If the fans think the club is making mistakes with regard to transfer activity, then they should feel free to say so. It's up to them players win them round, like Lucas did!

He may have bought Alonso, but he also brought in Josemi, Nunez, Pellegrino & Morientes. He also tried to off load Alonso the season before he actually left.

That's actually a fair point negative fan 1! And maybe I did get your opinion mixed up with negativity but I am getting fed up with so many negative posts! I read last week that people wanted to get rid of BR already! It's crazy! I don't think Williams is the answer to centre back either I am just trying to stay positive and think in a couple of years we can challenge for the title!

Apologies for any offence caused!

JonBoy6

I'm sorry too JonBoy if I came across a bit too stong (arr, feel the love in the room!). But Liverpool are known to have some of the most knowledgeable and passionate fans. Fake positivity ruins that!

hai ed...
U remember two seasons back..Roy wanted to sign Mario Gomez on loan and Bayern were interested in selling him rather than in loan...we didnt had the money to buy him...and we didnt..
insted a season after KK signed Caroll..
Was just imagining..if we would have bought Gomez for 20 mill...what would have been the scene now..
Missed him..he is somewhat a complete striker for me..

{Ed052's Note - It would have been amazing - but I think Gomez would have rejected that deal anyway.}

I thought we wanted to buy him, gomez wanted to come but Bayern weren't willing to sell.

At the time Gomez had an interview saying he wanted to come, bayern stopped it

Not really..actually he had bad season at that point and bayern and gomez both wanted to make the deal...Ed..y on earth we did not buy him..wen we had the money?instead KK spent 35 mil for caroll..
he would have been the next torres...

If me brother has been a bird he would have been me sister!

No Gomez said that he wanted to come and talked about it with his family and girlfriend but Bayern rejected the deal.

But guys remember it was still in the H&G era and they were about to sell which is another reason for not buying him.

Theres no way he would have rejected that deal ED he was on the bench and was not starting or scoring bayern wanted rid but nothing sufficed.

Jake

I recall them saying Bayern is not a superstore no players are for sale and definatley no one would be loaned out.
The hat.

This question is for fans do you think we can keep our best players as we are building for future at the same time giving them small wages compare to others

No we can't. A certain calibre of player demands a certain wage - I understand the owners want to run the club sensibly and cut down on the wage bill (and there are too many players at our club who are on a ridiculously disproportionate wage in comparison to there talent) but, some players have to be paid well because they are good enough. Will the owners concede to this reality? It is difficult to say, but if our better players leave and we do not have either Champions League football or good wages to offer then the pool of talented players who will want to sign for us will shrink drastically. I suspect if this is the case then we will focus more heavily on signing youth and loans. If this is the case then we may well become an Arsenal in the sense that we could challenge for Champions League consistently in a few seasons time but, if its a League title we want, then we will have to do more.

SMc

If it means paying them Tevez or Adebayor wages then sell them for the best price we can get.Too many players on gigantic wages are happy to sit back and draw their pay while doing sod all.

thanks for the replys guys... i too like agger he is one hell of a player and sideshow i take your point on board ..as when fit agger is one of the best the is ..he gives the team more options..but i just think it's the right time to sell..it pains me to say this...i think last season losing agger was a bigger blow than losing lucas...for me r form really dipped after his injury..thanks again for the replys...dave d

Agger didn't miss as many games and last season proved why Coates should have been starting ahead of Carragher.

When is it ever the right time to sell one of your best players you dipstick? You weaken your own team and strengthen one of the opposition or didn't that idea occur to you?

So if I get this right... you believe that Agger was a bigger loss to the team last year than Lucas was, but you still think that we should sell him? That's logical!!

Hi eds , with all this talk that we could be losing one of our cb ,does L F C have any interest in Kyriakos Papadopoulos ,saw him play a few times last season and looked good and still in his early twenties .cheers ant {Ed052's Note - I doubt it - too expensive}

Hey Ed. There is links coming out that Ricardo Quaresma is of interest to Brendan Rodgers. Is this a case of the media running out of players to link us with or Rodgers actually wanting the services of Quaresma? He could be a shock loan signing.! {Ed052's Note - I doubt it - but Ive heard the rumours}

If Rodgers has more than 3 brain cells and at least one eye he will not be signing Quaresma.

I was actually shocked to see someone championing signing him on this site earlier. Have I gone back in time to 2006 when the football manager kids were foaming at the mouth for his stepovers?

Pace, attitude, end product... thing's that have never been assets for him. A Turkish club are looking rid of him - TURKISH!

More likely that he'd be a shocking loan signing

hi Eds has Rondon signed for a club yet?

Liverpool will bring in Alvaro Pereira and Ibrahim Affelay in on loan with a small fee included (6m for Pereira 2m for Affelay )and the option to buy at the end of the season.Jones will be off to Norwich with DeVries as his replacement Allen and Dempsey deals to be finalised by the end of next weak, Adam possibly part of the dempsey deal (replacing Danny Murphy) Pacheco linked with Villa, probably desparate to link up with Lambert who he played for at Norwich.
As for Agger he wont be leaving but it doesn't hurt to look at possible replacements like Williams or Caulker, we cant afford Sahko, finally we aren't signing ramirez and Carroll will be staying, rodgers will try change his game to be like Danny Grahams at swansea

Psycho-red

6m for a loan? Please tell me I've misunderstood this, seems like a terrible deal

Pereira buy out clause is 22 million and probably end up somewhere a lot better than liverpool

Chelski will probably buy Pereira they have been monetering him for a while but need to shift Ashley Cole out they wont want them bother on there books with the wages they will demand

You could buy pirrier for 6m and affaly for 6m dont talk drivel

Ignore the rumours about Ashley Williams being a target if Agger leaves. My understanding is Rodger's is hopeful Agger will be signing a new contract.

This is poor/lazy journalism, how many Swansea players can we be linked with for crying out loud?!

On the topic of Swansea players though, news on Allen tomorrow.

Thanks, Tom.

My thoughts exactly!! I'm fed up of the media linking us to every Swansea player and Daniel Sturridge - who shouldn't even be a striker IMO!!!!!

About the most truth i have read today

At last a bit of sense

Ste

As we have bought and/or shown strong interest only in swansea players (borini and allen) lazy journalists will use this opportunity to feed us the entire squad (of swansea). This year all the top four sides have got promising young stars/proven talents and we are not even linked with any. furthermore we are rumoured to sell or loan out agger, shelvey and bellamy. i don't blame the manager who is no doubt wud do as much he will be allowed to do. if all these rumours are true, then it will show a lack of intent and ambition in owners and kenny's sacking wud mean pointless as you cannot reach top four without spending bit time on quality players.

I totally agree hope we get joe allen though as for agger he will stay..

red blancmonge

Agger definitely wants to sign a new contract, which is fantastic. Future captain. Expect Coates to be his CD partner by the end of the season though, with Skrtel moving on next summer.

Do you think the club are trying to sell agger or skert to raise funds . agger has said he wants to stay and loves the club what as happend and rogers said they would listen to offers for any players its getting to be a bit of a joke four years to get in cham league lol

I have been informed by two sources one admittedly is often hit and miss however they have both said that dempsey is no longer an option not at least until fulham alter their demands in terms of money. Instead Liverpool are looking to put their efforts in to attracting Adam Johnson who they feel would be more than happy to come.
Most likely signings before end of August:
Allen
two loan signings (1 a striker and 1 creative midfielder, the star player)
The club are hopeful of also adding Johnson.

Just passing on information not saying it will happen but I don't think we could complain with that business.

Shawn Vole

The Eds have already suggested that Dempsey transfer wouldnt go through until fulham alter their demands, old news there.

I would expect another versatile player owho could play leftback/Centre back & another holding mid considering both adam & spearing are going and aurelio already gone..

I wouldn't complian with that. And to the above poster lucas/allen/gerrard are all compotent in the holding role.

Will Gerrard play more than half a season? I think we need another creative midfielder on top of Allen and lucas, henderson( who are continuity or defensive players) {Ed052's Note - I fear he will spend the season injured, and what about Suso, Adorjan...}

Adam Johnson? He seems more interested in Man City's money than playing time on the field. {Ed052's Note -

Seams okay to me haha

Liverpool look likely to let Agger go as Man City prepared to meet LFC's £20 million asking price on the player.
BR looking to turn his attention to Paris St Germain defender Mamadou Sahko who has been tracked by Arsenal but who have so far failed to make a bid due to having enough cover in defence.

On football-talk website.

vrcomp
Y.N.W.A. {Ed002's Note - Can't see Sakho being an option.}

Ed 02, why is Sakho not an option. I know PSG are not willing to sell him, but at the end of the day, its all up to the player. And my word, for a player labelled as the natural successor to "Marcel Desailly", the guy should be playing regularly. I'd imagine that our CB pairing will be Coates and Sakho with Kelly now getting adapted to the RB role and Robinson taking over from Enrique when he leaves/retires. There has to be a chance of Sakho, though slim. You know, i was thinking, and this might anger some fans, could we possibly offer Agger to PSG in return for Sakho as he has great potential and at 21-22 years of age, will only get better. Agreed Agger is a good ball playing CB but Sakho can also get there with good guidance...No disrespect to you Ed 02, but i just think that there is a chance of Sakho, and more so especially if Agger leaves. We sell Agger to PSG, we dont lose any sleep as PSG dont play in the EPL and hence we dent City or Barca(bigger threat in soccer than PSG) chances...what do you think??... {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have not shown any interest in Sakho through his club or agent. PSG do not want to sell Sakho. Sakho says PSG are the best club in the world and he does not want to leave. PSG have no interest in Agger. Sakho will not be moving to Liverpool this summer.}

Ed 02, so yes i agree that LFC have not shown any interest in Sakho and that maybe credited to them being confident of landing Agger on a new deal. Who knows, LFC might be interested in Sakho when Agger leaves??. Also, if what you say about what Sakho has said about PSG is true, then i honestly believe that Sakho is ludicrous. How can you vote to stay at a club which just wont give you the first team soccer your craving for....but anyways, i understand your argument Ed 02, and i guess we shall see what happens.
Lol, not soccer related Ed 02, but are you female?!?!?!?!?!...^^ {Ed002's Note - All man. I checked.}

Ive had Sakho in my championship manager team for 3 seasons. Hes good value but hes really struggled with injury. :D {Ed052's Note - Well if he's good value on a game - then we should sign him in real life}

Sakho i wish

Ed do you mean you don't think Liverpool would be after him or he wouldn't come to Anfield?

eds, do we have any interest in porto's danilo? can play in the right-back position and midfield
YNWA {Ed002's Note - No, and he won't be joing Liverpool this summer.}

Yes he can play in right back,SO the ED is wrong with that one,he can play RB and near enough any were across the midfield .doubt he will be moving anywhere this summer as i think Fc Porto not long bought him, {Ed002's Note - The question was about Liverpool having interest in the player. Efforts being made to have any sort of dig at the Editors today is simply getting people banned. You can blame the constant and reperated abusers for this.}

05 Aug 2012 11:22:38
Eds is there any truth to the rumors linking Queresma and swiss intl fernandes to Anfield. I quite like Queresma and he is an out and out right winger. Something we need. Jamie {Ed002's Note - Quaresma is certainly an out and out winger. I don't know anything of the links at this time. There is no chance of Gelson Fernandes joining.}

Hope not hes well past it,

05 Aug 2012 15:26:49
Quaresma is the type of player we need, if we were to sign him he would have to work as hard tracking back as he does beating players but I think br could really get him playing like he was when at Porto, the noise inside anfield would be amazing as he would really lift the crowd with his bags of tricks and eye for goal, haven't had a player in the same mould since Macca. Long shot but would be a great signing for us in my opinion.

The BBC Gossip Coloumn says that we are interested in signing Ashley Williams from Swansea if Daniel Agger left to join City.

Let's pray this isn't true otherwise that could be the worst like for like replacement in history

It probably isn't true but if it was Williams is an international who had Rooney in his pocket when England played Wales one time and didn't Swansea have lots of clean sheets in their debut season in the so-called best league in the world. It's hat you do not what you're called that matters.

PieInTheSkyMan

Why do we need another def. We have Coates, Skertel, Carragher, Kelly. What we could do with is a striker and a decent winger

Worst replacement in history? Wasn't that Aquilani for Alonso?
IOM Red

As bad as aquilani for alonso?

If true would show BR only knows about players who play for or have played for swansea ie siggy allen borini now ashley williams

Again rodgers appears incapable of buying a player he hasnt worked with before

I can't believe that of all the available candidates that would join us, Ashley Williams is the best. If it's true, you'd have to question Rodgers buying based on his Swansea experience, AKA Borini, probably Allen, maybe Sinclair and/or Williams. Yes, he has experience with coaching them and they know his system, but they're not the best we can get. Broaden your horizons!

Williams is twice the defender Agger ever will be

Now if it was Ashley Williams the actress...

Chris in Tamworth

BBC 'gossip' column! To the people getting upset, stop getting upset and bad mouthing a manager for absolutely nothing. There's a reason Rodgers is managing teams and you are not!

If williams was twice as good as agger he wouldnt be playin for swansea n if we are gonna sign mediocre players were gonna be mediocre in the league n didnt we sack k.k for this and wastin lots of doe on mediocre players

BBC are as bad as the Mirror and they make everything up.
What is that guy on who thinks Williams is better than Agger? If so why have MCFC and Barca not been after him.
CR {Ed002's Note - The BBC are simply reposting "gossip" from other media sources. They are not making things up.}

Of the hundreds of players linked to LFC by rubbish newspapers, how many actually came to fruition... barely any. So why are people so gullible they feel motivated to leave comments as above. Besides even if it was true...how many goals did LFC put past the Swansea defence last season?

If rogers is going for all these swansea players why did he join liverpool

I stopped reading after "BBC gossip column"

What about aqualani for alonso?

I've got a feeling that in a weeks time everything will be revealed in regards to our full transfer plans, both in and out.

I think the Olympics finishing will spark off a chain event. Allen will join and if Shelvey doesn't leave on loan then I think Adam will leave (reluctantly) in a deal for Dempsey. We'll probably also look to offload Pacheco and Spearing, plus possibly Cole if we can find a suiter. Bellamy will return to Cardiff unfortunately. This will leave space for one or two loan players, most notably Affelay, who Barca are happy to loan out to regain full fitness and give them a shot at a decent fee next summer. If Affelay joins then Dempsey will be played as a striker to rotate with Borini, Suarez and Affelay wide with Downing and probably Cole (who we'll struggle to shift) backing up.

I can't see Agger leaving personally. He seems to have stayed loyal through the tough times and willing to sign a new deal earlier in the summer. He'll enjoy the way Rodgers plays too and I'm hoping he signs a new contract along with Skrtel and Suarez. We also need to tie down Suso and Sterling to new deals, very soon to cool speculation interest and speculation on all of them.

The Carroll situation is a confusing one. He only wants Newcastle, but perhaps for a bumper pay deal a move to London may just happen. It'll probably drag for a while yet and explains why we're looking to loan someone as we can't bank on Carroll's transfer money to replace him with a £20 million player. I honestly don't know the striker we'd want, but perhaps it's nobody if Dempsey joins.

I've also stated before that I just can't see Ramirez joining. The fee they want is high and despite his potential I'm not sure he fits into BR's way of playing. Despite his skill on the ball, he's got quite a languid style, doesn't seem to work hard and press from the front. Players like Adam and Aquilani don't fit this way, so that's why they'll leave in my eyes.

I'm not acting like I'm 'in the know' which is a phrase I can't stand. I just listen to the ED's, read a lot and make decisions based on this. Some question ED02's knowledge but it's huge and just because you don't want to hear it all, doesn't mean its not bang on.

Hopefully we'll all be satisfied by the end of the window, but if we're not then so be it, I'm happier already with just Borini then the waste of money we threw around last summer.

Papa G

Well written and logical comments. Sounds like you know what you're talking about.

This is really bugging me now! As per my post last night - Why do people insist that Shelvey will be part of a loan deal with Swansea? He is on the brink of the first team and better then ADAM. Best performer in USA Tour, best in form midfielder we have at the moment. Jonjo will be better staying with us then being loaned to Swansea or a championship team. What is the inside info that says Jonjo to be loaned out as part of any deal we do? Where has this info come from?
Boysie-red

Happier with just Borini? You're quite easily pleased aren't ya?

Sensible and more interesting to read than the tripe most spout.

PieInTheSkyMan

I think shelvey keeps getting linked with a loan move as he will be 5th choice central midfielder. Rodgers plays with a central 3 midfielders who will be gerrard, Lucas and Allen (when he signs) and I feel Henderson will be 1st choice backup to them 3

Andy

Great post mate

These are dark days for liverpool, this season may not be as bad because we massively under achieved last year but the yer after.... once rodgers has sold are best players and got the wage bill down with mid table replacements, we wont be challenging for the title for years, which rodgers has already told us, we are a business and they pick you to preach this evangel

I think you have to see Agger's situation in terms of moneyball logic. The man himself doesnt want to go, he has made that plain enough via his agent and I beleive him when he says he loves it at Liverpool - however, a 20 millionish bid for a 28 year old with a history of injury problems makes perfect sense economically and i thinks thats what will determie what happens next. In short what i am suggesting is that LFC will force him out because they want the cash.

Moneyball is good for the owners, not necessarily good for the club and fans. {Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with football though - so you can forget it.}

Bang on bro apart from the borini bit we deffo need more fire power upfront

I didn't say that I wanted Shelvey to leave, I think he's an excellent young player. I'd much prefer him to stay over Adam. But if we can't shift Adam or Cole then I think he'll go on loan to get regular football, as he needs that to develop.

Papa G

I watched Ramirez against GB and thought he was quality. On top of his well documented attacking play he really put himself about, harassing the GB defenders. He's a lot bigger than I thought too. Would be great for us.

I think you're bang on. What's more, I can see where you're going with Borini. Genuinely feel like he's been waiting for his time to shine in the prem, has a point to prove and is icy cool. Fingers crossed he'll be like Torres when we signed him and just start scoring for fun. Plays beautifully in the pass and move system. Adam +4 million for Dempsey and although I completely agree jonjo is the midfielder of the future, I do think he'll go to either Swansea or Southampton on loan this season.

Agger probs will be off in exchange for amorebiata or maybe Simon Kjaer.

All in all, I agree that thi is gonna b a big week for us! Great post, Papa!

Nicely written

Im in the know

Totally agree with everything That papa g has said, and more over its refreshing to see a manager in the hot seat who deals with everything in a very dignified way. No tittle tattle about what might be, let's get on with it and we'll tell everyone, when it's done. Like it!!! Think BR will take us back to the glory days. Reality is that it will be extremely difficult to overcome the mega bucks strength in depth city & Chelsea will have. But at least if we finish low down, I'll enjoy watching Liverpool again. Great site. Keep up the good work.

Good read that

if sources r correct it looks like agger is on is way out,would make sense with him being left out of europa tie,man city r favourites i for one hope they take johnson as a part of any deal,really dont want to see him go though is def a step backwards he is one of the best in the world and has a brilliant touch....and we will probably replace him with some overated player...bad times

Agger was left out of europa game because of the long tiring pre season and rodgers does not want to risk agger getting an injury

Rodgers has come out and said Agger was only left out because of his injury record. Didnt wanna risk it before the season's opener.

It doesn't make sense that agger was left out of the Europa unless he was injured because he wouldn't be cup tied by playing in the qualifying round!
SM91

In my opinion Agger has always been defensively dodgy. I Think it would benefit LFC if he left

For you to predict that he would be replaced by an overated player & then say bad times ahead. Me thinks it's time you moved on...

Why so many want johnson? he is a poor teamplayer and have crappy attitude...

hi eds..i just read an article on espnstar..that liv is ready to accept a 20m bid from manc for agger and BR is already looking at ashley williams ofswansea to fill the gap..is it really goin to happen? {Ed002's Note - Given the interest in Amorebieta it would strike me as unlikely that Brendan Rodgers would look to Williams. But that is simply my opinion.}

Another swansea link when will it stop their players are not what we want ,br please get real do not be deluded by what you did at swansea it may have been good for you but in reality what was it you did , toshack and molby did good things at swansea . red mick tag

God, I pray this isn't true. Not because of the merits of Williams but its just a joke when a Manager brings his favourites from his old club. If we are going that route can we steal a top club's Manager who could bring some quality with him.

Williams is half the player agger is so that would be a poor replacement. However i dont rate agger as the best in the world and with his injury record, i would take the 20mil. Amorbeita is decent but there is so many more decent CB out there. I like Fazio of Sevilla. Jamie

Ed002, you've often mentioned Amorebieta when Agger's name is mentioned. Do you think this is the more likely scenario to play out, more so than Agger and Skrtl both staying? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool's interest in Athletic Bilbao's Amorebieta is very clear but he may soon have an attractive offer from AC Milan to consider.}

I hope it's just the papers linking all these Swansea players and not rodgers actually wanting them. Despite how well they played these players still finished below us last year. Filling our team with these players will take us backward I believe and will leave us even further behind.

05 Aug 2012 00:21:19
Ed002..Are city still favorites to sign Ramirez? What chance do we have?
LiverpoolINIndia {Ed002's Note - At this time nothing has changed to make Manchester City "favourites" or to change any chance that Liverpool has. The most significant change seems to be, if reports are correct, that Wolfsburg is not somewhere Ramirez wishes to play. But I have no confirmation of that.}

05 Aug 2012 08:41:18
I don't have any mole or stuff, this is what I think will happen after looking at some rumours....
Villa could come here on a 6 month loan deal
And there might be a 12 month loan deal for a young player, to get game time, maybe from Real Madrid....
Might be true, might not be true, like I said I'm no ITK, this is what I think will happen.....
What do you think ed

Daniel Agger seems to be on his way out of Liverpool, and a couple of reports are linking us with yet another Swansea player-Ashley Williams. Please eds, any truth in these reports?

Noskee {Ed049's Note - Nope, it's just a rumor which came from BBC's gossip pages.}

If Brendan Rodgers loved all the Swansea team so much then why did he leave? Why not just carry on with his post at Swansea? Point being, we won't be signing Swansea players every time we need a position filled..
Rumour......Brendan Rodgers to be sacked by next Tuesday and laudrup to be installed as next manager !!

Doom monger

Joe allen will sign tomorrow

Lee

Is he good enough ?

What do you mean by "good enough"?

He is probably in the top 5 players in his position in the league and is essential for the new style of play. He will add the dynamism that Rodgers refers to.

Yes we need to buy at least 2 goal scorers but Allen is just as if not more important at this stage of the squads transition.

Its funny how alot of football fans don't pay attention or understand the quality of some opposition players unless they grab headlines - this generally results in only attacking players be known and appreciated and devalues the perception of many others.

For example ask a Spurs, Arsenal, Norwich fan what they think of Lucas Leiva / describe his game and they will probably provide little information.

If Allen can relax in the red shirt and play at his true level then we will have a player.

Dempsey off to Roma.....
Anyone think this Dempsey deal has been a cover up for our real target! If we really wanted Dempsey it would have been done by now, whatever the complications

No. Plenty of transfers are complicated and take a while. Especially when a company associated with the owners of a club claim we've signed said player prematurely..... Dempsey is coming to Liverpool. He even left Fulham's training camp early to push it through. {Ed002's Note - Dempsey never went to the training camp. It is accepted he is leaving but there remains interest from elsewhere. I understand that money is the reason a move to Liverpool is stalling.}

And the real target is?

I don't think it was a cover up, too much information got out!

Brendan Rodgers reportedly ready to submit a 6 million offer for Adam Johnson

Would love this to be true but i doubt we will get him. his wages are to big for us!

6 million no chance.

6 million? maybe if we put a 1 infront of the 6

Adam Johnson had a price tag of 15m a month ago. Has something changed to devalue him? If only dreams were true :-) On the plus side i'm glad the Adam Johnson chat is picking up again - he should be our number 1 target.

The best player in the prem for the way rodgers likes to play cutting in on his favoured foot an shooting

My dad works in a French marketing company that deals with OL's pre season marketing campaign. He was working on a video to build some hype about the players not to include Michel Bastos. When he asked why he was told they were looking to move him on. Any interest from Liverpool?

-Red-Till-I'm-Dead- {Ed049's Note - Not from Liverpool}

Joe Allen will sign this week, he will be the only CM signing, he will replace Spearing who has had offers from 3 Championsip teams, I think he'll choose Forest. Ramirez is a no go, Ill put me name on the line for this. Sahin wont sign, hes going elsewhere, the loan signing will be Ozil, he is desperate to play for LFC and Jose has told him Modric will be first choice in his position. I'll hold me hands up if I'm wrong, we'll see. Also, Dempsey will be Brendans 'false' no 9. eek a mouse

Haha. ha. haha. wow. ozil ... that is a joke right?

Stopped reading at ozil...

Leave a name so we can judge your credibility then

Ozil is exactly the type of player we need... He was deadly on the right wing during the Euros and could easily cut inside (or play from the start) to the centre and cause problems. Both Suarez and Borini have quality when it comes to positioning (Borini being a more box goalscorer). Hope this happens, but I really can't see it happening :(. KEEP CARROLL FOR PLAN B!

All believable except Ozil part. He's a top player, can't see him signing for us even if it's just temporary. But I honestly hope you're right

Pls sign of if you wish to get recognition (if true) and if you don't this rumour is rubbish

You seem so sure... Are you ITK?

I would love us to go for ozil, very direct and amazing skill although my head says he won't look that good in the prem. Much better league than mickey mouse la liga

I for some reason wouldn be suprised if this was true ozil at least is a star,kyle

I think his name is eek a mouse

TSP

Ozil, the world beater? was plausible till him but then... Ozil? really?

Ozil was mentioned on here a couple of weeks ago as well, cant see happening but we can hope. Ramirez, some are saying will happen, some people saying it wont, the same as dempsey now. Allen we all can see is a matter of time, sooner we get him the better so we can focus on the next arrivals... Lfc jondog

Ill throw my hands up if ozil signs....and give u the pink slip to my car.....cause its not gonna happen.

I would love oezil to come. haha but i can only hope

Kaizer

Ozil would be great. Can't see it though

"I'll put my name on the line for this"

Erm don't you need to leave a name to make such a statement? Ozil is better than modric so as much as I would love to see it happen it just won't.
CQ

Ozil?! Oh come off it. If even remotely true id eat my own face. Quote me on that. ;)

Would love ozil but cannot see it & to the above poster who said la liga is mickey mouse really? Most of the Spanish team play there the first team to win 3 consecutive tournaments & did you watch athletic Bilbao batter the mancs home & away? Paisley's genius

You say Joe Allen will be the only CM signing, but then you say we will sign Ozil?

JJ8

Re Paisley genius, la liga is no where near as competitive as the Premiership. Two teams aka Real and Barca only win la liga with the odd surprise result thrown in. Wigan beating Man Utd, Swans beating us, Arsenal getting pumped by Man Utd, any team in the Prem can beat any other. Needless to say why La Liga in comparison is a mickey mouse league. Nuff said really
Big Al

It's not as unbelievable as some of you are making out , we are Liverpool fc remember kids, not some
debt-ridden strugglers no one has heard of.
Plus Real Madrid are top-heavy in midfield .
Iv'e been racking my brain trying to work-out who this STAR might be and this seems to fit.
Then again it could be Alonso....

JR {Ed002's Note - I think it very, very unlikely that Real Madrid will be looking to let Alonso go on loan.}

Do you really think the guys last words on his post are just 'eek a mouse' and not his name? come on people, get the reading glasses out!

Mate yr living in dreamland if you think Ozil would ever wana play for us unless we had champions league and ozil is at the same level as modric maybe even better but keep poppin them pill
