Could we be getting Ramirez and Jovetic?

Apologies for the cut and paste.

According to Italian source Corriere dello Sport, Liverpool are set to make a £17 million bid for Fiorentina attacker Steven Jovetic.

The 22-year-old Montenegro international is top of Brendan Rodgers' most wanted list as he tries to make an instant impact at the club he is now managing.

Rodgers wants Jovetic to improve Liverpool's attacking threat, something that let them down considerably last year. Jovetic could also be seen as a partner for Luis Saurez, after the Uruguayan managed to carry the team as a result of Andy Carroll struggling in front of goal.

Steven Jovetic has made a name for himself for Fiorentina after scoring 14 goals in his 27 appearances for the club last season. Liverpool are desperate for an inform striker as the season draws ever nearer.

Rodgers is no doubt unhappy at not been able to secure Gylfi Sigurdsson who chose Spurs over joining Anfield this week. Liverpool aren't the only club interested in the player with big spenders Chelsea also challenging for Jovetic's signature.

Jonesred

I think Jovetic to replace Carroll would be a good move. Carroll is apparently wanted at Milan if we could get £17m - £20m for him that would be good.

Caught offside is very unreliable

Jovetic has 35 league goals in 136 league apps with 22 of those coming in 4 seasons of playing Serie A football.

That's 5.5 league goals per top-flight season....wow!

Carroll has 38 league goals in 133 league apps with 20 of those coming in 4 seasons of Premier League football.

not a vast improvement I think...

AggerDo

5 league goals per top-flight season.

How many of those appearances were substitutions?

BR's sysyem has 2 wide forwards/inside wingers either side of a sole striker. Carroll will be first choice striker, Suarez first choice right-sided forward. Neither Bellamy nor Downing will be first choice left-sided forward, which is why we are looking at Jovetic, Tello etc. WE WILL NOT BE PLAYING 2 UP FRONT!

Rodgers is trying to sign Callejon and Ramirez. Cole and Aquilani are staying, as are Maxi and Bellamy. Spearing is nailed on to go, along with Downing. He is trying to improve squad depth so expect 1 or 2 more after Ramirez and Callejon. We don't have to sell in order to buy.

Luis

The Callejon thing is a joke started on twitter, don't even read it.

Nobody had even mentioned Callejon until 10 minutes ago.
Now here you are claiming to be in the know....
Like magic
Jamie

I do hope the Aquaman stays, I think he will fit right into the system. Of course people say he is too "light" to play prem and is scared of a tackle or too. 2 words: Raul Miereles.

Your post was looking good right until you said aqua was staying then i knew it was nonsense shame cos it started so well lol

You know Cole and aqualani are staying before BE does..........amazing

I find it funny when people pretend to be itk and make assumptions that often enough never work out.
derryred

One of the few posts that would make sense and I could actually see happening!

Callejon only last week pledged to stay and fight for his place at madrid.

Who is BE and why is he all of a sudden in the know....?

The only thing that has ever been nailed on was JC (not Jamie Carragher)

Lee Wallace,Alex Smithies,Victor Wanyama,Gary Hooper,Theo Walcott and Gaston Ramirez in. Aurelio,Gulasci,Spearing,Kuyt,Maxi,Cole and Aquilani out.

Would love to be the club that goes for hooper but he will be 1 that slips away

And thank god he does slip away. We'll be bringing in players who are better than that

Elia gone to Werder Bremen ...

Reddie

Heard this to

Vertonghan apparently has now gone to spurs? mate has told me it was done a week or so ago, its being leaked now! next for them is adebayor, remy and oscar? oh and lloris im told? and IF modric goes then moutinho will be next through their doors? they are all making their moves early

Another one we missed out on.
derryred {Ed049's Note - Thank God.}

Ed, a spurs mate has told me vertonghan has signed fot ehm, adebayor has drastically dropped his wage demands and will sign for them along with remy, if modric goes to madrid moutinho will sign as well will lloris, another team getting their ship in order
p.s the big news he told he told me ed was that jack wilshire is very close to retiring due to his injury??

Everything was understadable about ur reply till u said wilshire is close to retiring..lol

Any interest in Alan Dzagoev?? {Ed042's Note - there has been interest from spurs and a few other clubs, not heard anything regarding lfc myself}

Just paper speculation regarding spurs! i have been told no aproach has been made

Spearing, Downing and Adam are most likely to be shipped out. Carroll and Henderson will be given a season to prove themselves.

Okay so we will sell one of the only wingers we have, and one of our covering midfielders, okay. but i'd have never of guessed that we are giving our record signing another season to prove himself or a player who was clearly bought for the future.
derryred

Charlie adam not going - BR gonna give him til xmas....everybody talking about all kinds of lfc targets - BR only gonna bring in maybe 3 new players (a striker, winger, and attacking midfielder)....he can definitely work with what we got and review at xmas. In defence we have more than enough options (skrtl, agger, johnson, enrique, coates, carra, kelly, flanagan)...midfield - gerard, lucas, adam, shelvey, henderson, spearing.....then wingers / attack - suarez, carrol, bellamy, maxi, sterling.....BR will ship out 1 or 2, and buy 3....remember king kenny knew exactly what he was doing and most the pieces of the jigsaw are already there - we just didnt quite slot them all into place to maximum effect......ynwa

Spearing will go! Downing is our winger maybe a backup winger for next season but will stay Adam will have a bit part role but not ad much as he would like so think he will have only one more season! As for Carroll and Henderson only having one more season to prove themselfs is wrong henderson only 21 Carroll only 23 got plenty of time to improve and they showed glimpses of what they can do last season don't think they would have gone to the euros if they didn't have abilty! Give them time don't expect things to happen over night!

Just another hilarious one, like these players your on about were the only sh#t players last season.................change the tune

Hey eds, do you think that gaston Ramirez will sign and aqualani the other way? Great site !! {Ed042's Note - hard to say on both. there's a chance with ramirez, aquilani i'm not so sure..}

Aquilani has too high wages and now married i don't think he would want to jeopardize his future security.

I really think he would give Liverpool a good try in this season if Liverpool are willing to also give him a chance. Would be a really good replacement for spearing A LIE? Gerrard and Henderson can both play in Lucas' position (as cover) so we don't need a DM that badly if we got a more sound player to fill in for Gerrard at CM

first team CM's
{........Lucas.......}
{Gerrard.Aquilani}

without Lucas for the first few weeks
{.......Gerrard.......}
{Aquilani..Adam...}

and still have Henderson etc as further depth {Ed016's Note - This would be a very bad idea}

walcott rumours flying around, he is disillusioned with the RVP decision and feels he has not much support at Arsenal from the coaching staff.
I too have heard from a former player that BR believes he can improve him technically and an offer will be in place soon.

If rodgers can get walcott to run with his head up and get him to put quality crossses in he really is a miracle worker lol

Well he helped out Sinclair a lot but to be fair he could have been good at passing anyway but just didnt like doing it. Walcott could be possible.

Brendan Rodgers is a brain surgeon?That's at least what he will have to do to get Walcott going in the right direction!

Speaking on talkSPORT radio last night, reliable Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri revealed that Liverpool had finally made a decisive move to try and land the highly rated 21 year old this week.

Also heard that Bologna rejected the bid - From a reliable source but obviously I'm not saying that's 100% True. I will post more when updated!

Just wanted to tell you guys that Sigurdsson wasn't being greedy, it was his agent. Sig was at a holiday in Iceland while his agent was searching for sky high wages.

Reddie

Doesn't he have a mind of his own.

Surely Sig would have had some input into that? If he wanted to go to LFC instead of spurs for money he would've done. Not that I'm too bothered cause I still think he has a lot to prove..

What a crock of s***. An agent is in correspondence with the player at all times.
If he wanted to play for Liverpool his agent would have being instructed to get as high a wage at Anfield with Spurs as leverage

TrueRed73

He didn't have to go for a medical, negotiate or sign on the dotted. Greedy b**tard.

And obviously they don't have a phone network in Iceland...

Im sure if siggy had of wanted to join lfc he would have and sod what his agent said i think your wrong i think he was been a greedy git lol

So who signed contract? Sure he could have said no thanks,I wanna play for BR not money

Come on. You don't really believe that do you. You can't be that naive.

If you were a professional footballer and a die hard lfc supporter. what would you do if lfc offered you 40,000 per wk, and man u offered you 90,000 per wk?
I know it's nothing to do with your sigurdsson rumour, just something for you to think about!

Red Lee :)

Yeah right! It was his agent that put pen to paper? !

Ok, we believe you Sig

Probably the most ridiculous post ever - an agent tells a player where he is going to play his football - yeah right.

John B

Dont be a fool,do you think his agent is able to force him to a club?get real,he decides where he goes he is the footballer,his agent acts on his instructions.This is the stupidest post ever

He didn't taken his mobile on holiday with him? Like Owen when he went to Newcastle, if he wanted LFC and only LFC he would have come, fact!

Keith

Is this sigs dad? What a crock of s**t! so what your saying is...a players agent decides where a player is going and all they have to do is sign? sigurdsson had a decision to make...go to a team where the manager gave him his break through or take the bigger wage. hope he has a "downing" this season!

Haha hilarious, did he come off his hols and wondered who his agent might of fixed him up with as a surprise. priceless

Agree with red lee it's a job at the end of the day we would all do the same plus the spuds are a better team than lfc at the moment an the play better football

Rodgers said it all, he's missed a big opportunity by not joining us, avb was a failure at chelski, he will be a failure at spuds, he will rot on the bench, as some1 said the greedy little b*stard!

Bull plop for so many reasons, plus the manager would probably have spoken to him directly

I'd go to Liverpool, the team I've supported my whole life. Dreams and happiness are worth more than money. Money only has a value because we say it does.

Robbo JPR

Come on - listen, an agents job is to negotiate and bring in the best deals - agents do not make the decisions...they take instruction from their client - be real...if you are a plumber or any profession at all, if u r offered similar jobs and can choose - are u gonna pik the one that pays 100k a week or 70k a week - no matter what sentimental feelings u have!

So his agent PP'd Sig's signature on the contract as well did he? Sig = Alan Shearer.......money monster!

If that's true then I'm damn glad we didn't get him, we've enough stoopid players already.

No sig is a man utd fan. If he plays for spurs he can eventually play for man utd. If he plays for liverpool he will never be able to. Simple as that

Hi, of course he had something to do with it but I think it has something to do with it that he is a Man Utd fan.

Answer me this question - Would YOU go to Man Utd to play for your favourite manager that has done many things for you and for 45.000 pounds per week or would you go to Tottenham for 60.000 pounds per week?

Ed are we interested in josep ilicic similar to siggurdsson but much more skill?

05 Jul 2012 20:56:10
Aston Villa have made a £2m bid for Dani Pacheco. Liverpool are preparing moves for Gaston Ramirez and Theo Walcott, don't expect much more transfer activity coming in. Liverpool could get a back up striker but they will only spend £5-8m max. Aquilani and Maxi are certainly on their way out of Anfield while Liverpool are willing to listen to offers for Joe Cole due to his age and more importantly his sky high wages but none have been forthcoming.

If the striker thing is true than it would only be a shot in the dark for a future star like Luc Castaignos or Alvaro Morata

The Pacheco to Villa rumour rings true, the lad had a succesful loan spell under Lambert at Norwich at the end of the 2010/11 season.

Could not think of many more UNLIKELY happenings than us buying Walcott... yet so many seem to "know" we will buy him?

Liverpool look set to begin transfer negotiations with Bologna for Uruguayan attacking midfielder Gaston Ramirez.

Italian sources confirmed last night that the two clubs and the players agent are due to meet in the next 48 hours to discuss the possibility of the transfer.

Speaking on talkSPORT radio last night, reliable Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri revealed that Liverpool had finally made a decisive move to try and land the highly rated 21 year old this week.

Liverpool have tracked Ramirez for some time, but with the breakdown of the move for Gylfi Sigurdsson, manager Brendan Rodgers has stepped up his interest in the goal-getting, goal-creating midfielder.

It is thought that that Ramirez is very keen to sign for Liverpool, although Juventus and Manchester City have also expressed an interest in signing him. Bologna are said to be interested in letting Ramirez go for roughly £16 million, which would represent an ambitious statement by the Merseyside club should they succeed in bringing him to Anfield.

The player is currently training with the Uruguayan Olympic squad, along with current Liverpool stars Luis Suarez and Sebastian Coates, who could be instrumental in the players decision.

In a surprising turn of events, it is thought that Italian Alberto Aquilani could be heading the opposite way.

The midfielder, who has been on loan at AC Milan, has not shown up on the current Liverpool squad list, and did not appear in any of the photographs of Liverpool's pre-season training yesterday.

Aquilani was bought by Rafael Benitez in 2009, but received limited playing time and has spent the last two seasons in Serie A on loan, at Juventus and Milan

Aqualani was not at training because he got married yesterday

Isn't aqua man getting married this weekend? Maybe that's why he's not on any photos? But wouldn't any new players we signed this summer not be on any of those pics either, so don't read too much into it I'd day. Talking of incoming transfers. Who saw Bellamy, Coates or Hendo being signed? No one flagged them up so I'd bet your bottom solar this summer might be the same. Just a hunch. Ben.

If all of this happened I'd be a very Happy LFC Fan. it would finally show a signal of intent.

Hugo Rodallega has alerted Liverpool this week after the Wigan forward threatened to walk out if his wages don't rise.

He already left wigan on free

Hasnt he already been released?

Hope this is not true, he sucks, I wouldn't give him a pay rise either, stand fast Wigan!

Check your sources mate, Hugo Rodellega is a free agent. He left Wigan at the end of last season when his contract expired.

Apologies for the cut and paste Eds, but found this from a couple of hrs ago and thought I'd pass on. Here's hoping its right.

Would be a major bonus if we got Aqualani off the wage bill too.

M. Krasic.

R. Elm.
And one other, I'll be very optimistic for the new season.

And have Gaston Ramirez representatives in anyway spoken to LFC?

Thomas in Holland {Ed042's Note - Not sure about Johnson although I understand there is interest. On Ramirez, they could have.}

05 Jul 2012 20:07:22
Liverpool and arsenal in race for Adam Johnson rated between 8-12 million. We must go for him but I worry his wages will be an issue and arsenal might try and deal with rvp.

Why would we go for him? No better than Stuart Downing...

Ramirez set to sign in the next 48 hours, With Suarez staying put! And Coates at anfield, this has swayed his decision to join LFC, sterling will be playing more of a part in BR's plans.. Aquillani will be sold rather than loaned,, joe cole and downing will be give another opportunity to prove themselves. possible Adam and spearing will be sold. Carroll going nowhere also.. After the signing of Ramirez don't expect anything major in the way of more big signings as BR is happy with squad strength at the club. Possible for extras to come in if we can offload some of the stragglers..

Paddock boy

Sounds like you know unfortunately to many people post lies and misinformation impossible to believe anyone

Id be surprised if we didn't buy a forward and a right winger.
The hat.

Heard it all before, and will believe it when i see it.

I can see this happening! I think we got a decent squad of players. Just need a few tweaks to get the Tika take style introduced

Also Liverpool are supposed to be putting a £17 mil bid for Stevan jovetic. Caught offside is the source {Ed042's Note - well then it must be true..}

Thanks Mr Ayre........What a load of Bull Sh!t!

Well thats all sorted then no need to keep coming on here now

First bit of sense I've read on here all day. {Ed002's Note -

Probably the same guy who promised us that Sigurdsson was "definitely" signing for Liverpool. What a load of codswallop.

The rumour is that his agent will enter into negotiations in the next 48 hours. That does not translate into him signing.

I hope your right and I think cole could still do a job for us

Sounds plausible although its a guess on your part methinks as you couldnt possibly know what would sway, or otherwise, his decision to join Liverpool.

Ciario

Seems legit

Yeah faia play sounds pretty realistic ,like u say the 2 Uruguayans may help sway it,i think aqualani will be part of this deal tho for gaston

Good post and i agree.

Rodgers likes to play 4-3-3 I think he will get Ramirez and possibly some players for position cover..

Not true! for the pure fact rodgers has stated it takes a certain type of player to fit his regime and he will be making 3-4 signings....this says to me all the players he signs will be quality,why would he get ramirez and make 3 other mediocre signings when our squad is full of that already? If he was happy with squad strength(which i very much doubt) then why would he need any signings.

We definitely need another defensive mid and striker

More to do with Chelsea but ive seen Liverpool be linked with Moses so thought i'd share. Chelsea have pulled out of the Victor Moses chase, due to the inevitable departure of RVP from Arsenal, Chelsea will now go all out to sign the unsettled Theo Walcott. Therefore if Liverpool really do have interest in Moses you will be in pole position. Anyways good luck for the season, BR was always well regarded at Chelsea, cant say im hoping he does well at your club but if given time and reasonable funds he can definately make a positive impression

Hi ED's great site. Just wanted to know are we or have we ever been tracking Real Madrid B's Jese Rodriguez he looks a great talent and would be a welcome addition to our ever stronger youth team. P.s please post this my questions never get shown. Thanks in advance loz {Ed042's Note - personally not heard anything about it mate, sorry}

05 Jul 2012 17:52:21
Is there any chance of getting Luciano Narsingh or Christian Eriksen ? {Ed042's Note - I understand Narsingh was watched at some point but I don't know of any interest now. Eriksen,has stated that he wants to play in spain in the future, so that rules him out.}

Eriksen had a trial at Chelsea when he was 17 and they said he was too weak and messed him about a lot, asking for him to do retrials etc. so apparently because of this he decided he doesn't want to play in England

05 Jul 2012 17:49:51
Still no news on the first choice targets. Liverpool will continue to monitor Victor Moses, Adam Johnson and Daniel Sturridge but will only make moves if they miss out on theirpreferres targets.

Why all the monitoring surely they have been looked at johnson is class if rodgers wants these players he must move a bit quicker to buy before bigger clubs like tottenham move in look what happend with sig. avb signed a player as soon as he took over it is starting to look like gillet and hicks again sell to buy mid table from now on

Defoe is not what we need at all

Defoe would be a cracking option for the next 3 years IMO, experienced, knows where the goal is and different to what we currently have.

Hi Eds

Question: Who are your preferred option to sign for Liverpool as the attacking/creative playmaker and why?

Afellay
Ramirez
Jovetic
Dempsey
Elia
Sturridge
shurlle
Martinez
Moses
{Ed042's Note - Ramirez. Very talented player who has the potential to be world class.}

Afellay
Ramirez
Jovetic
Dempsey
Elia
Sturridge
shurlle
Martinez
Moses..

i know its hypothetical but ED pls rate their chances of the signing for us...on 1-10 scale ..pls, {Ed042's Note - hypothetically for this summer.. 2,8,6,7,6,6,6,0(gone to porto),7. This is all hypothetical of course..}

Ramirez would suit BR's style. He would work well with Suarez. He must be one of LFC's main buys this transfer window.

Id love 2 see affellay {Ed042's Note - maybe not this summer..

Adam Johnson

None really but Affelay maybe.

Elia is pants I'm sure his name is just paper talk, absolutely flopped at Juve and won;t be good enough for Liverpool. I'd love to see Jovetic or Ramirez, both quality.

I would say that Gaston Ramirez is world class compared to some of the numpties we have playing in attacking positions for us.

What about munian?

waghead {Ed042's Note - he's been watched i believe, you could probably add him to that list as a 7 maybe?}

Why dont liverpool just put a bid in for him instead of waiting to see who wants him first then loose out

Eds 42 has some balls to put nimbers down with some of the pricks on this site. You made my day with that 8 for Ramirez and 7 for Munain. Thanks for giving the numbers ed I for one appreciate it. Those 2 and top 4 is definitely a possibility. I still like Downing, he iust had a tough year. Lucas is just like a new signing.

In my opinion ramirez has the qualities to be world class. therefore defo him. i believe if we cannot secure his signiture we will regret it.

Hey Eds are we looking at Jetro Willems or would he be an unrealistic player?

Thanks {Ed042's Note - not sure mate}

He would be class if we could get him...never have to worry about a left back for years with Enrique and him in the squad,i bet PSV would want about 10mill though for him

He was shocking for holland at the euros

Shocking! ,,,wasnt the whole holland team shocking...hes a good player , hes only 18 .he will be the best left back in the world in about 4 years time,u wait and see ;)

Really? I know he's only young, but he was baad for holland at the euros

Hi Eds
Forgive my naivety but is it still the case that LFC will never get into a bidding war for any player?
Or is it just a sign of the times that a competitive market requires a different approach?
PBRed {Ed002's Note - No clubs want to get in to any out and out auction but most players have their fee determined by the selling club, so it is not necessary.}

05 Jul 2012 15:47:07
Is Coutinho out of the question? i know he was on loan last season at Espanyol.
Great young talent.
Jamie {Ed002's Note - The situation with Philippe Coutinho remains broadly unchanged as far as I know. Inter had offered to loan Coutinho to Bologna as part of a deal for Gaston Ramirez that eventually fell through last summer. He had a few starts early in the season and with Inter looking to sell Sneijder at some point to help fund their rebuilding I don't think they would want to sell - hence the loan to Espanyol. Coutinho would need a work permit so any move would not be easy. I suspect he will stay with Inter this summer and see how it goes next season.}

Where have all these petty ramirez rumours come from again? I have scoured the internet for two days and have found nothing solid relating him to liverpool.. and some guy earlier on about xavi coming here? Thats just pathetic. Liverpool are no longer that great club we all new. I must admit I like the look of the two brazilians we are scouting bernard and oscar,would prefer oscar though. By the way eds have we had any solid transfer news coming through,I wouldn't mind seeing tello coming, and also marco verrotti. Cheers lewivalbuena

I think most of the Ramirez rumours have come from foreign press. Can,t be any less reliable than the British press.
CR

We are a great club an if you dont believe that that then go support someone else who you think are a great club!

No matter what happens, we will ALWAYS be a great club. No, go outside, have a word with yourself and get a grip.

Hey Eds, to any of you who watch Palermo or the Seria A regularly, can you comment on whether Ilicic is worth the steep price tag of 25m?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - I have no real interest in the prices.}

He is a good player but not worth £25m. Put it this way, there are better talents out there for cheaper.

He is an ok player but I would never give more than 6m for him!

05 Jul 2012 15:29:02
hi Eds,

just wondering, when rvp goes to city, surely they will look to offload some players. everyone is talking about adam johnson and i think he'd be great addition to our wings. but do you think we could get dzeko? i think he's a great player, just not on the right team. are his wage demands too high? do you think this is possible? would you like to see him link up with suarez. i think this could be a great bit of business at the right price. {Ed002's Note - They have offered Dzeko in a part exchange deal that was turned down. I don't know of Liverpool interest.. Adebayor and Tevez are available as well.}

Brendan Rodgers on Siggurdson:

"Gylfi did fantastic for me at Swansea. He and I spoke, and I believed that playing football was going to be the most important aspect for him, but obviously, it was important financially."

"I knew what the market was, and I wasn't prepared to pay anything over what I knew had been agreed before (between Hoffenheim and Swansea)."

"Liverpool would have provided Gylfi with a great opportunity to perform with a manager that he knows, at a club that is a real footballing institution, but he decided to go to Tottenham."

"There's no ill-feeling, we've got other target, and we will move on."

Now we know the official reasons behind the saga. Rodgers stuck to his principles which I think he should be applauded for. We have paid over the odds for players too often.

JRG

Several reason i like what BR has said.

1. he is open about it and honest with the fans with all aspects of the deal.

2. We won't be held to ransom.

3. seems when sigurdsson shown his true colours and greed for money then we were no longer intrested.

Well done BR! stick to your guns....
never negotiate with mercenary's

Jamie

Sorry, the report I read seems to have misquoted Rodgers on the first couple of line. This report tries to make out that Sigurdsson moved to Tottenham for financial reason but he was referring to when he was Swansea. The full interview reads:

"He and I both sat and spoke and believed that playing football was going to be the most important aspect for him. But obviously it was important financially so we agreed a deal for him to go to Swansea and that was wrapped up"

JRG

I think it's a Mistake . U must know we are Liverpool not Swansea. if Gylfi ask a reasonable selary the we should accept it.

Lets be honest BR had to say that, everybody knows that if Sig had signed for Liverpool they would be paying him more than Swansea.

I don't know why you lot are so bitter, Sig has chosen Spuds - so he might be earning more money but remember they finished 4 places higher and played some great football.

Good job Brendan.

Some fans may be in the opinion that BR may have problems attracting "bigger" names to LFC.Some fans may be in the opinion that BR may be out of his depth at LFC. There are many disagreements with the appointment of BR, but I hope we could all agree that so far he has handled his interviews and exposure perfectly. It is the first time in a while that we have had such a professional manager whom I do not have to watch through my fingers, so far. Kenny was human and passionate in his media exposure but whilst he will always be a legend, sometimes he handled events slightly wrong. Benitez cost us a title by blundering through Alex Ferguson's baited attempts rattle him. Let us not begin to discuss Roy. Let's hope BR continues as he started.
Davey Liver.

Yup 100% behind that, it's how we need to be from now on if we don't have a billionaire owner and don't want to be lumbered with more players who fail and can't be moved on because of monster wages.

Plus he's 22 and had something like 6 clubs, seems excessive to me.

3 or 4 good months and suddenly thinks he's a superstar, will be another spurs flop like pienaar and krancjaer, well done BR sticking to his principals, good times ahead with him in charge

Really liking what I've seen of Brendan Rogers so far. Seems honest AND shrewd - hopefully a successful combination!

MR B.R you stood by your guns and I shall stand by you.well done he is a good player but at the end of the day liverpool or spurs a choice between a team he knows the manager likes him he would be in a in same European comp as spurs and lets no kid our selfs when modric leaves and with hardly no strikers and a new manager for me spurs could go either way so money had to be a big factor.

According to the Daily Fail,AVB wants Oscar for £10-15M to replace Modric.The way I see it,nobody wants to pay the reported £35m asking price for Modric.So Man u and Madrid are looking at other targets.Now we have missed out on Sig,could we not be tempted by that price for a player with that kind of potential? {Ed002's Note - You mean £35M for Modric?}

If its from the Daily Fail or The Bun then their rumours are as true as Lionel Messi signing for the Newco Rangers as a player/manager!

Thanks

Kam

Reason Modric wants to leave is for champions league

Not Modric.Oscar for around £15M would be good business?What you think ED's,I don't know a lot about him.Is He in the Brazil olympic squad? {Ed002's Note - Internacional's Oscar has the attention of Barcelona and Inter Milan. Perhaps a little too early for a move this summer. I would be surprised if there were interest from Liverpool. His ownership was in a real tangle with Internacional and Sao Paulo fighting a legal battle over Oscar. Someone suggested that ownership had been resolved but Bertolucci made it clear there were on goining issues. In either case a move is unlikely.}

05 Jul 2012 14:34:48
Is Robben a option? Decent player but reckon Pepe may give him a slap and he'd be off the ozzy in a ambulance again {Ed002's Note - I don't see that Liverpool would be interested in him and his preference would likely be for a move to Italy if he moves at all this summer. AC Milan have a long term interest in him and Palermo are looking at players of his ilk as part of their extensive rebuilding.}

Robben to Palermo would be like Robben to QPR! (Palermo finished 16th in Serie A)

Not happening. {Ed002's Note - OK. I guess you would be surprised to see Palermo spend 150M euro this summer.}

Liverpool are to make a remarkable bid for Xavi Hernandez of Barcelona. Xavi feels he has achieved all that he can at the Camp Nou and would like to leave on a high note on the back of Spain's emphatic European Championship victory. A new challenge, a change of scenery and the opportunity to be involved in the foundation of a new project is said to be his motivation for the shock move.

Xavi, 32, has been in talks with Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool are hopeful of acquiring his services before the beginning of their Europa League campaign. A fee has not been discussed between the two clubs, however, with Xavi keen to move on and Barcelona entering a new era, the deal could go through sooner rather than later.

Liverpool are also deep in negotiations with Italian club Bologna regarding the signing of Uruguayan ace Gaston Ramirez, 21. Liverpool are very hopeful of landing the player and a £22.5million bid is under serious consideration at this present moment in time. Manchester City's interest has cooled as Roberto Mancini is unable to guarantee Ramirez's greatest desire, first team football. If Liverpool are to be successful with their bid it would leave for a mouth watering combination in midfield and address Liverpool's lack of creativity last campaign.

Finally, Luis Suarez is set to stay at the club. Juventus have been compiling various bids to try and entice Liverpool into selling the front man. However, with Suarez happy and settled with a new contract on the horizon, both Liverpool and Suarez have no desire to part company.

MichaelBerryScott.

I don't know where this rumour of Xavi came from but there is no way xavi coming to LFC.
FowlerGod.

Check out my solving ED02's cryptic message to Chris in Tamworth the other day! Lol.

BigBadBen

I stopped reading after the word "Xavi".

I believe a deal for Sean Dundee returning is more likely than this.

I've actually heard this rumour as well although I have more info to add. As well as Xavi interested in a move to Anfield, Messi has also declared his desire to join us. Meanwhile, Ronaldo has revealed an "I hate utd" tattoo and has just signed a new contract at Madrid which has a clause enabling Liverpool to sign him for £8.23.

Clearly living on fantasy island!!

Lfcmonkey

Lol never mind sean dundee,crocodile dundee more likely than xavi

Xavi could play for another 6 years at Barca, and win everything, why would he come to Liverpool to get kicked up and down the park in the cold, and win f**k all.

What staggers me most is the 5 people who clicked " believable"

Chris in Tamworth

Haha Xavi to us to total crap, but imagine how awesome it would be lol

Then u woke up

Huxleypig22

Yeah right

First of all £22.5m is about £6m over what Bologna wants for Ramirez. They want 20m euros = £16.5m {Ed042's Note - So have you spoken to anyone connected with Bologna? Have they told you how much they want for him? Have you spoken to anyone connected with Liverpool? Have they told you they have bid £22.5m for him?}

You poor deluded fool.

Do some people just click believable to everything?

I really want to believe this but somehow i dont think it will happen.

The weird thing is this has more believable than unbelievable! Hmm

Big T

I know 99 per cent of tranfers on this site is nonsense but this just is the worst i have ever heard. id totally love if it if it was true tough

Think you've been playing a bit too much FIFA mate

Yay! Downey's joining us...how about the rest of the Avengers?

This is the worst rumour I have ever read on this website (which is no mean feat) - take a bow son, take a bow.

SMc

Haha success!

Eds is it true that Gaston Ramirez in Liverpool to Finalise deal as he was seen in the Airport
Do you think he'll come? {Ed002's Note - If it has been confirmed on Twitter that he has been seen at the airport I guess that nails the deal as done now. Great bit of business.}

It is true ed I have seen it as well

Ed 002 great sarcasim just made my day!

Of course he has been at the airport, Uruguay is training in Liverpool! {Ed002's Note - Wouldn't they get in the way of the Liverpool players?}

I don't want to get peoples hopes up but i saw some very important people in suits (possible agents) at the airport yesterday.
It was at Orlando airport for my return flight to England but if you put 2 and 2 together i think it means we are signing Lionel Messi.

Remember you read it here first......or don't rememeber it your call.

I love how ironic Ed002 is !

Reddie

They WERE training in melwood afew days ago for preseason olympic football i think {Ed002's Note - As noted on Twitter. Then they flew to Uruguay to play Liverpool of Uruguay.}

05 Jul 2012 13:36:48
Eds Are we interested in Josip Iličić or is it us that could have made the bid as it was stated that the side that made the bid was a solid mid table side (could be us) as the other two clubs interested in him are Chelsea and Aston Villa? {Ed002's Note - All I can say is that it was not Chelsea who bid.}

If its us he's got a cheek calling us mid table

Eds you make it sound like you know something special, is this a cyptic message a Chris in Tamworth Clue. or you just winding us avid Ed0002 fans up........Dragon3383 {Ed002's Note - I would have thought the statement stands by its own merit.}

Brilliant response Ed002....Much Appreciated. what do you recon to him is he any good or not Ive only seen him play a couple of times and he seemed a bit like Finnan was. not really noticed but does a sound job.

Dragon3383 {Ed002's Note - He is well thought of.}

Thanks Ed

05 Jul 2012 13:21:58
hi eds do you think borja valero would be a good realistic option , to be part in the tiks taka football ?cheers
{Ed002's Note - Borja Valero came close to signing for Chelsea last summer, but in the end Chelsea decided against it. This year the interest is coming from Malaga and Napoli.}

Ok thanks eds

Think he would be just what we need, what with Lucas not ready yet and with ADam and AQua ready to move on he would be a good option.

05 Jul 2012 12:41:43
Personally, I think Kalou would be a fantastic bit of business if we were to get him. Scored most of his 60 goals for Chelski on the right wing. Just wondering if any of the Ed's know if we are actually interested in him, as his agent said he would welcome a move. {Ed002's Note - As we said before, I am sure he is being considered, but he won't come cheap.}

Not good enough.

Won't come cheap? he's free! He was on less at Chelsea than what Downing and Henderson are on with us put it that way. {Ed002's Note - Free is rarely free. He will be looking for something like £3-4M signing on fee plus about £70k per week.}

He is shocking everyone took the piss out of him cause of how bad he was and ex footballers agreed

But Sturridge or Walcott are good enough? Please.

We already have a tea lady

And she's a better player too.

Great.................headless chicken in a red shirt..............more chelski laughter

"personally i think kalou would be a good bit of business". i don't

05 Jul 2012 12:38:17
Hi Eds,
I wonder if we should make a move for Walcott if he wants out of Arsenal? I realise we can't offer CL, but if he's a Liverpool fan he's got to think we're worth a punt. I'd imagine he'd get a lot of game time here, what with us needing a right winger. I thought he looked good at the Euro too, and he might enjoy linking up with the Liverpool contingent again. Not to mention that the Chelsea dressing room seems a bloody horrible place to be... {Ed002's Note - I don't know whether or not Liverpool would be interested in making a move if he became available. I am also not sure how much interest there really is from elsewhere.}

Why would we want another headless chicken?We have enough already!He picked Arsenal over us a few years back,because he wanted to become the next Henry.That went well!He left for Barca the following season.So is that the reason he has not matured into a world class player?He runs fast,does not know when to cross,or cut inside and shoot himself.Does not read the game well.He has not developed at all.Look at OX,and what he has done in his first season.That's why Arsenal are not realy bothered if he does move on.

What difference does it make to an Arsenal player whether the chelsea dressing room is a horrible place or not?

He would be a good buy i think,bet you could get him for about 10million there about and he supports LFC !

Because Chelsea could be interested if he becomes available.

05 Jul 2012 12:27:49
Juve lining up 33 million euro bid for suarez. If this fails ive been told by a juro mate they might add Krasic on top to make the deal go through.
Pavel Nedved told Italian Jurnos Suarez and Lucio are the main targets after failing to land other players and they already have already signed Lucio and Juve are confident of getting suarez in the next 2 weeks.

05 Jul 2012 12:27:12
I see RVP going to Chelsea (london stay), hopefully that will give us a clear shot at Sturridge.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sturridge ended up at Spurs....

Richards

I thought Sturridge had health problems at the moment.

RVP to chelski and sturridge to Liverpool. How do we make ground on them with deals like that? We need to take risks, and try to find the next rvp, not buy hand me downs like sturridge.
Red Steve {Ed016's Note - I also thought Sturridge was currently having health concerns.}

05 Jul 2012 12:27:00
could RVP come ti liverpool this summer thank you edz {Ed002's Note - I really don't think so.}

He wants champions leage

Does anybody out there really think thay rvp would join a europa league team.
I have been a liverpool fan 30 years and
i can believe the crap some fans come out with regarding transfers.
liverpool will be buying 2 or 3 players this season but dont expect miracles?

This must be one of the stupidest questions eds has ever been asked the gunners are in a better position then what Liverpool are so why would he

Yes he is coming, we are finalising the deal as I'm writing this... Also Ryan giggs is coming for a small fee of 26.8 mil

Remember the name...
PorkiePie

Of course, RVP will be in Liverpool...along with the rest of his Man City teammates when they visit Anfield!

Dufus!

05 Jul 2012 12:23:59
ED Have we made an offer to Salomon Kalou ? please answer {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any offer for Kalou from Liverpool at this time. He has been speaking with Gala and was in the States until a couple of days ago.}

05 Jul 2012 11:50:04
Hi from sunny South Africa Ed, thanks for great feedback. There is so much talk and speculation about signings and most of them amount to nothing, however, I would like to know your opinion on which signings you think will be realisitic during this transfer window.. Art {Ed002's Note - It is tough for any of us to put our neck on the line in what is the most likely or realistic; but a good Transfer Summary has been provided by CC and you can see there are plenty of nifty options available.}

Ed, who or what is CC? {Ed002's Note - So you have read teh other posts then?}

Sorry, just saw it.

05 Jul 2012 11:46:35
hello Eds
Do liverpool hold any interest in Jordan Rhodes for the role of back-up ST ?
Now I think that would be a shrewd buy. Its not like he has to play CL. I definately feel he can hack into PL and Europa. A summer of Gaston Ramirez
Jordan Rhodes
Jordan Claise / Etinne Capoue
Back-up LB
would be very good and by spending merely around 30-35 million pounds.
Also found this on twitter and found it rather amusing :
Podolski: "I'm signing for Arsenal because I want to win trophies"
RVP: "I want to leave Arsenal because I want to win trophies"

{Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Liverpool - Newcastle, Everton, Aston Villa, Fulham and West Ham are certainly chasing Rhodes.}

Weekly Transfer Summary From CC

It's that time of year again so I thought I'd help out with a round up of 'targets' and rumours:

Junior Hoillet: Ed002's Note - Reading, Spurs, Galatasaray, Sunderland, Newcastle, Stoke, Arsenal and possibly Aston Villa and QPR have been interested - plus a couple of clubs from Germany (Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Munich) and Marseille from France. I understand that Roma have dropped their interest after an offer of a pre-contract agreemnent was spurned. A move to Reading, Aston Villa or Stoke is unlikely. If pushed, I would say Newcastle, North London or foreign shores (Borussia Monchengladbach or Galatasaray) are the most likely destinations.

Ryad Boudebouz: Ed002's Note - Ryad Boudebouz will leave Sochaux with Real Betis and Lyon showing an interest. Way back in the day interest was shown by PSG, Spurs and Liverpool and certainly both made tentative enquiries. Lyon would seem to be the most likely destination right now although he is one of the two players that I understand Liverpool have recently asked to be kept informed of.

Gago: Ed001's Note - I don't think there is any chance. Gago's wage demands are high and he has not actually performed well since his long injury lay off.

Daniel Parejo: Ed001's Note - from what I can find out, Valencia don't need to sell, Alba only went because of a buy back clause apparently. But they are one of the few clubs in Spain that are not in deep doo doo right now. They were, but they seem to have sorted themselves out. I can't find out anything about us having an interest in him either, though that isn't 100% as we have scouted so many games, it is almost impossible to be sure which actual players we looked at.

Ganso: Ed002's Note - It is not going to happen.

Gaston Ramirez: Ed002's Note - As I have said previously Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club but would not be at all surprised if a push was made to sign him particularly if someone leaves Liverpool. Ramirez was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - but Liverpool did not follow up on their initial interest after having the player watched. Bologna will not now listen to offers less than 20M euros. However, it remains most likely that Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Spurs, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. Discussions have taken place between Bologna and Manchester City, Napoli and Juventus. The talks with Juventus do continue and after Wolfsburg met with the player's agent talks are now being organised between Bologna and Wolfsburg. Gaston Ramirez's agent Pablo Betancourt has now also made it clear that Juventus and Wolfsburg are interested in his client and that he knows of no on going interest in the player from other Italian clubs.

Soldado: Ed002's Note - Soldado is no longer available.

Vertonghen: Ed002's Note - I very much expect Vertonghen will move to Spurs or Arsenal in the summer.

Adebayor: Ed002's Note - Fenerbahce and Spurs have shown interest. Cost is putting Spurs off.

Remy: Ed002's Note - There have been no approaches to Marseille regarding Loic Remy from Liverpool but in January a third party (an agent) suggested to Marseille that there was interest from Spurs and some sort of exchange for Pavlyuchenko was proposed which was immediately dismissed. Spurs went in to discuss options for buying the player outright and Marseille said he was not for sale but they could return with a bid in the summer. Remy would perhaps be interested in a move to a leading side but Marseille have no interest in selling unless a very good offer is made - circa 20M euros - as they need the money. Lille are perhaps showing teh most interest right now.

Forlan: Ed002's Note – No

Demba Ba: Ed002's Note - I would be surprised by Ba.

Kalou: Ed002's Note - Kalou remains of interest to a number of clubs and is considering an offer from the US. Gala remain interested as well.

Josep Ilicic: Ed002's Note - Possibly. Both Milan clubs and Juventus have an interest in Ilicic but Inter are favourites if he does come up for sale this summer, which I doubt. England seems a unlikely destination although Chelsea, Liverpool and Aston Villa have looked at the player in the past.

Susaeta: Ed002's Note - Real Madrid, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris St Germain have shown at least some level of interest in Athletic Bilbao's Markel Susaeta in the past few months

Llorente: Ed002's Note - Fernando Llorente is interesting Spurs, PSG and Manchester City with rumours of interest from Arsenal and Manchester United as well. Barcelona are considering their future options which may involve a move for the player.

Jackson Martinez: Ed002's Note - He is going to join Porto.

Adam Johnson: Ed005's Note - I think Adam Johnson has the ability to be a great winger just his off the field problems and his apparant attitude are a problem… I think if A.Johnson becomes available we'll be interested but personally I can't see us dishing out £20m for Johnson / Ed002's Note - I would have thought that at the right price Liverpool may be interested - but I don't know whether Liverpool under Rodgers would make a move or not.

Victor Moses: 29/06/12 - Ed002's Note - It was suggested by Moses last week that both Chelsea (who had a derisory bid rejected) and Liverpool had interest in him and he wanted to understand what offers were on the table.

Javi Martinez: Ed002's Note - I would not expect either to be at Anfield next season. I could see Martinez playing for Manchester City.

Muniain: Ed005's Note - Enquiries have been made for many players - but that doesn't necessarily translate into a transfer bid or signing of a player

Afellay: Ed002's Note - Afellay has been out injured pretty much all of this season and I think future chances at Barcelona may be limited but the kid is keen to stay and Barcelona seem keen to have him as a squad player. However, I think it is still possible that he will be available in the summer and that Barcelona would listen to offers. Italy looks like one option available to him if he is sold and there may be interest from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle.}

Marco Reus: Ed029's Note - He's signed for Borussia Dortmund.

Shurlle: Ed002's Note - I think your friend Shirley is really cute.

Schurrle: Bayer Leverkusen may be willing to sell Schurrle if the player wishes to leave. There has been interest from Chelsea for about a year and following the departure of Kalou it is certainly possible they may now push for the player. There is unsubstaniated interest from Inter as well.

Borini: Ed049's Note - Fabio Borini will stay at Roma.

Dempsey: Ed002's Note - As has been said before, there could be interest at the right price.

Rondon: Ed022's Note - I was personally unaware of any interest in Rondon, however other Editors have assured me that there is interest. Not sure that I believe it though to be honest, and sure enough speculation has died down now as you rightly said.

Matt Philips: Ed002's Note - Eds 1 and 3 see Phillips as very much one for the near future but personally I know little of him.

Jovetic: Ed016's Note - I believe it is just a Twitter rumour. Unfortunately that leads me to believe that it is just a recycled rumour from way back when Rafa was in charge and he was interested in him / Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Roma and Spurs did show previous interest in Jovetic, but Chelsea and Napoli remain interested if the price is acceptable.

Elia: Ed002's Note - Elia has a career that was flying until he joined Juve where it has not really worked out. Juve were willing for him to make a move on loan in January with, I expect, an option to buy. Everton, Hertha Berlin and Newcastle had apparently shown interest and his representatives were looking to place him in a northern European side where he would get a regular start but nothing came of it. He will be available this summer but the only firm interest right now is from Benfica and Genk although West Ham may try and lure him to London.

Krasic: Ed002's Note - Juventus will be open to offers for Krasic and Joksimovic has been trying to get as many clubs as possible interested including Lazio, Liverpool and Spurs - and he has had success with all three showing interest. Borussia Dortmund, Marseille, West Ham, Villarreal, Sevilla, Zenit St Petersburg, Fenerbahce and Anzhi Makhachkala have a confirmed interest in the player although I suspect Dortmund will drop their interest. Marseille would take him on loan but I doubt that would suit Juventus. Liverpool, Lazio and Fenerbahce strike me as the most likely destinations for him right now but perhaps by tomorrow it will be Zenit best placed.

Vargas: Ed002's Note - Juan Manuel Vargas is different from the traditional left sided players being as he is a proper wing wing back with a very good goalscoring record - although many come from free kicks. Fiorentina accept he will leave. Liverpool, Malaga, Inter Milan, Napoli, Roma, Arsenal, Manchester City, Benfica, Bayern Munich and Zenit St Petersburg have shown an interest in the past but at 28 and with a now well documented weight issue, he may not be the easiest to sell. Liverpool, Malaga and Roma maintain an interest and I would not be surprised if there is interest from Turkey and Russia

John Guidett: Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware, City are not even considering letting him go anywhere, except on loan.

Cavani: Ed002's Note - You may need to save up a bit to attract Cavani to Liverpool.

Matuidi: Ed029's Note - Blaise Matuidi is a good DM and has been linked in the past

Luuk De Jong: Ed002s Note - There are offers on the table for De Jong from two other clubs / Ed005's Note - It is hard to know mate until clubs make offers for him. I think it'll all depend on other transfers, one being Lewandowski

Moutinho: Ed002's Note - I don't know of any confirmed interest from Liverpool. Rumours persist of Moutinho moving to Chelsea if they would pay the 30M euros required but realistically it is unlikely to happen. If AVB takes the Spurs job and they lose Modric, I would expect that they will look to Moutinho.

Moussa Sissoko: Ed002's Note - Toulouse are not aware of interest from Liverpool right now. Right now I would have to say Roma are most likely to get their man this summer.

Daniel Sturridge: Ed002's Note - If Liverpool were to make an offer that is acceptable to Chelsea then Chelsea would not stand in his way if he wanted to move. Whilst I am sure that a financial package acceptable to the player could be put together he will also look to commitments that he would be primarily be used in a central role. If Liverpool could do that I am sure a deal would be possible.

Skrtel: Ed002's Note - If Skrtel leaves consideration has to be given to the likes of Coates, Kelly and Wilson, but I suspect another centre back will be sought.

Aquilani: Ed002's Note - Liverpool will look to unload Aquilani.

Agger: Ed049's Note - lose who? If you mean Agger, I believe he wont be going anywhere.

Maxi: Ed002's Note - I suspect he will move on.

Pacheco: Ed002's Note - I still expect Pacheco to possibly leave.

Cole: Ed002's Note - Joe Cole will be subject to discussion and we will see what interest is shown.

Suarez: Ed022's Note - Right let me clear this up. Ed005 was saying that Ed002 never said that Suarez was DEFINITELY leaving. Ed002 stated that there was a chance that Suarez may depart this summer, and stated the reasons why. Now, this has been covered so damn much that it's getting to the stage where we as editors are contemplating ignoring all Suarez questions due to the levels of abuse we are receiving over it. It's utterly disgraceful how some posters treat us Editors, and if we went one day of posting all the abuse you'd realise that we need to have the patience of Moses. BR did an interview saying that Suarez wasn't leaving, so that MUST mean that Suarez is staying right? If that's the case, I'd advise all of you to stop posting about Suarez, and to not ask our opinion on Suarez. That way, everyone wins

I hope this helps some of you that are unable to use the search function!

Cheers
Curtiss

{Ed002's Note - Thanks Curtiss - a weekly summary is great. Add a title to the top "Weekly Transfer Summary From CC" and folks can search on it.}

Nice one Curtis mate. I use the mobile version and i'm unable to use the search function.

Fair Play Curtiss

Makes things much easier.

Conor

Thanks Curtis

What's the latest with Suarez? (-; {Ed002's Note - THis has been done to death. Try the search function.}

Perhaps a new page for these kind of round ups ed? Just a thought. {Ed002's Note - We have too many pages already.}

I have a question ed? So you reckon Suarez is staying right? {Ed002's Note - You will have to wait and see.}

Well played Sir. Much appreciated.
RealisticRed

Well done Sir, sad thing is if people weren't stupid they could look it up for them selves, it is far easier using one point of contact so much respect, bet the eds r lovin it ;-)

On another note though it kinda shows Liverpool don't really have any confirmed interest in anyone, I really hope this is because targets r unknown or being persued under the radar, anyone who thinks r squad is good enough is lying, speed kills at any level which is something the squad is clearly lacking in!

Good job cc....dave d

No worries guys.

If there's any players I've missed off that you/the eds have talked about, feel free to let me know and I'll do my best to find a response for you.

Curtiss

And practically all are negative...as Lawro just stated we're are finding it almost impossible to sign any decent players.

Thanks, clears a lot of things up without shifting through loads of posts.
FowlerGod.

Nice one Curtis, Alot easier viewing all possible transfers like this. Than.la for the effort you have put in & all the rds too. Don't want You's being jelous ha. Good read that.

Good to see your alive Curtis :) want me to do the next one in 2 weeks time and alternate like last year?

Red Rout {Ed002's Note - It would be neat if you two could co-ordinate on this again.}

Eds you should put this at the top of the page then there is no way in hell people who are to lazy to scroll can miss it, and then when you change your set comment about a player you put it in red on the post as "latest news" I feel like that might save you some grief.
Andrew

Goodstuff mate

Nice one Chris ;)

GB

Nice post Curtiss, thx for taking the effort.
Lee73

Thanks for the positive feedback on this lads. @Red Rout - still alive mate, just didn't post anything for a while due to the negativity on here! Alternating every 2 weeks sounds good to me. Any players that are missed, just add them on!

Cheers
Curtiss

Very nice! Thanks for the effort, Curtiss (and the Ed's for the original content)!

RDL

Wow - great effort curtis lad, must of taken u ages, respect
Dhh

Fantastic post exactly the type of feedback I want to see from the Eds

In all honesty RDL mate, it only took about 20 minute to compile together. I know I've missed a few players off like. Look out for Red Routs Roundup in 2 weeks time.

Eds which club does Bernard play for and is it likley we will get him?
{Ed002's Note - Bernard was one of a number of players that were looked at ("scouted" for want of a better term) by Liverpool's South American team. He plays for Atletico Mineiro. There is a significant difference between a club looking at a player and making any sort of approach to buy the player.}

Hey eds

Just wondering who juve want more, Suarez (as it's clear there's an interest there) or RVP? Mainly is there a chance RVP will go to Juve and thus put them off bidding for Luis?

Cheers
JJ {Ed002's Note - You really need to read the other posts. I have explained that they had in order of preference Cavani, Higuain, RVP and Suarez. The Cavni bid including cash and three players failed. They have been told Higuain and RvP are not available. Their plans for getting to negotiating for Suarez and what they will offer has been covered at length.}

But surely Suarez is not for sale either.

RVP is much more likely to join Juve than Suarez seeing as Arsenal need to sell now or lose him on a free next year.

Hi Eds,

The club has released some photos on the official website about Brendan meeting the players who were not part of the euros or olympics. I noticed that Aquilani is not there in those meetings. Is he not required or any other specific reason he has not turned up.

Regards,

Ashish (fan from India) {Ed002's Note - Aquilani did not show up. Perhaps the club will sack him?}

Is that true edd or one of your wind ups? lol. Hope it is true {Ed002's Note - They won't sack him, but it is true he did not show up and I am sure that the club knew he would not.}

Maybe he took the photos?

According to his agent, he will return this week.

Source: Liverpoolecho

Redfuzz {Ed002's Note - They have been hoping that Liverpool will concede to releasing him from his contract. I rather think Liverpool are regretting turning down the 3.5M euros offer as that is no longer on the table.}

I know you want to display sarcasm in every post but give some posters a break, he just wanted to know if anything cynical was going on behind the scene that you may have knowledge of? Jheeze! {Ed002's Note - Cretin. Was Aquilani there? No. Does he want out of his contract? Yes.

If it bothers you so much as to write in to complain just avoid reading anything that I write.}

Aquilani married yesterday ed002. {Ed002's Note - Great day to arrange a wedding on.}

Sucked in by Twitter because Aquilani was not getting married yesterday. It was a hoax to cover up when he was not in the pics from Melwood.

I may be wrong, however, i understand he was getting married

Thanks as always

Jamie

Have posted image on pics

Come on people, it said that not all the Sqaud has arrived for pre season yet. Even Gerrard wasnt there at the meeting, does that mean that he is not in LFC's plans. Same for Suarez!!. Give Aquilani a break. Btw Aquilani is the best placed midfielder to fit Rodgers style of play aka Tiki Taka as that is what he is great at. He is over his injuries as well, more less injury prone than Agger himself!!. To the Ed's who think that he still wants out. I dont see you stating any source recently where it says he wants out. I agree he had the intention to leave in his first year in England but what makes you think that he wants to leave, because his agent has said that if Rodgers doesnt see him fit his plans they can find a club??. Aquilani just wants assurance that he is involved in the setup. That is what he wants as of NOW. Im sure anyone would be fed up with playing on loan twice and not being bought. Rodgers will decide his fate but i feel that he will remain as Rodger's will want squad depth and has more balls than Dalglish and Roy to allow Aquilani to express himself!!... {Ed002's Note - You want me to give you sources for Aquilani wanting out? Hopeless.}

I think a lot of people got carried away that Aqualani would return, walk straight into the team and be our saviour, and people just ignored the fact that he doesn't want to play for us, or even be in this country! Love the post that suggested he might have been taking the pictures though...brilliant!

Perhaps it's time we sacked him and sued him for numerous breaches of contract, or at least fined the player, he is still under contract, we would have to pay him out would we not if we real eased him, his attitude towards LFC is a disgrace and a bad example to our younger players. This is a player who over rates himself and thinks he can walk into any team he wants, I suppose he been blinded by all these teams desperate to sign him! It's about time LFC showed these players the door. If they are not proud to where our shirt then why should they expect to get paid let alone deserve to wear our shirt

He was genuinely getting married. Official LFC page congratulated him on Twitter.

Hi Eds,

If the rumours are true about Ramirez, or if indeed he is to hypothetically sign, would these be before or after the Olympics?

He is with the national squad at the moment isn't he? {Ed002's Note -What rumours are you referring to? If about Juventus and Wolsburg then yes. If the story that he signed for Liverpool last week then no. And he is with the Olympic squad.}

I was expecting an honest answer for this one. the question was simple. why that frustrates editors, I don't know.
but sometimes it is better not to comment anything.
Ramirez was rumoured to be talking to Liverpool, or his club talking to liverpool. so i guess he was also being skeptical about the credibility of the story how this can happen while the player is with his national team. or if such a story is right, he is asking for your opinion as to whether liverpool will wait till the olympics is over to finalize the deal.

not sure if this makes to the post but i have one comment. you editors are always in the page i understand sometimes these redundant questions are frustrating. but what if i am a new user that comes to the page for the first time? what if I don't have time to read everything there?
I know it takes may few minutes to get what is the issue of the day but on the other hand you have to take into account these things.

miccmak {Ed002's Note - I have explained the situation with Ramirez and who his club is talking to.}

05 Jul 2012 04:24:21
Would just like to declare my undying love for Ed02 and that I've heard that whilst rondon wants to leave malaga, before he ends up like Santa Cruz, malaga aren't keen on selling, meaning it is doubtful he is going anywhere.

{Ed002's Note - Post of teh day. I don't know why these Rondon rumours have been elevated to such a level. Clubs who looked at hime were looking for a second string striker at an appropriate fee.}

05 Jul 2012 03:03:08
Eds do you know what striker is Juventus' top target this summer? They've been linked with the likes of Suarez, RVP and Cavani. Only asking due to it being partially related to Liverpool ;)

Iced Red {Ed002's Note - Cavani, Higuain, RvP, Suarez in that order.}

That means chelsea, real madrid, psg and juventus are looking at the same strikers, do you think they all have the same list? {Ed002's Note - Broadly there are always going to be clubs looking at a few recently successful strikers. Last year we saw haggling over Aguero and Falcao - it will always happen. This year we will see more movement than before so the starting position for everyone will be "not for sale" or a very high quoted transfer fee.}

05 Jul 2012 02:17:50
Ed an unnamed premier league club has apparently bid for Josep Illicic, Ed002 said three premier league clubs have an interest in hime. Those three being Chelsea, Liverpool and Aston Villa. He also said that Chelsea had definitely not bid for the player, is it possible that Liverpool were the club to bid for him?
Cheers eds and keep up the good work. This is by far my favourite website!
KiwiRed {Ed002's Note - It could possibly be Liverpool. I don't know.}

Ok cool, thanks ed002. Appreciate your guys hard work.
KiwiRed

I heard it wasn't Chelsea or Liverpool who made a bid and I didn't know of Aston Villa interest.

Its West Ham

04 Jul 2012 23:47:22
Hi eds, what date are the players back for training? Also does this include the players thay were involved in the euros or the players that will be involved in the olympics? Jayo {Ed002's Note - Obviously most are already back - the others return a week or more likely two after exit from other events.}

7th july

04 Jul 2012 23:01:08
hi ed002 a question please you said or maybe it was ed022, that br has to assess the squad then he will decide who goes and comes, when is he going to do that do you know? thanks
hibsylfc {Ed002's Note - It is now ongoing as players return for preseason.}

05 Jul 2012 08:58:04
Eds, do you expect LFC to push for Gaston Ramirez now that Sigurdsson signed for THFC? Thanks for the reply! {Ed002's Note - I don't see the two as being related at all.}

They play the same position and lfc seem to want a creative midfielder so Ramirez fits the bill.

Haha took the words out of my mouth the lad above

05 Jul 2012 08:42:38
Daniel Sturridge, could we prize him away from Chelsea Eds....? {Ed002's Note - If Liverpool were to make an offer that is acceptable to Chelsea then Chelsea would not stand in his way if he wanted to move. Whilst I am sure that a financial package acceptable to the player could be put together he will also look to commitments that he would be primarily be used in a central role. If Liverpool could do that I am sure a deal would be possible.}

I rate Sturridge higher than Welbeck. Would like to see him in a Liverpool shirt. Could we guarante him regular first team action though which he would want.
RealisticRed

Hope we don't sign him. Would rather get Kalou in for free than pay 12m for an overrated player.

Thanks for the reply Ed 002. I think he would be a great addition to the squad. Quick, tricky, Knows were the net is. Play him in front of Luis.Wishful thinking eh Ed. We Defo need a striker with his ability.

I hope this comes off I think he could be a star of the future and would get bums off seats

Play him in front front of Suarez are you mad?!?!

Sturridge is a selfish ball hog who takes shots from impossible angles instead of crossing, that does not fit into a pass and move system. He has speed going for him, Sterling is fast, heck if we want speed lets buy bolt. I prefer blooding our young then buying sturridge.
Andrew Dunne

05 Jul 2012 09:25:33
Any interest in Junior Hoilett? {Ed002's Note - Reading, Spurs, Galatasaray, Sunderland, Newcastle, Stoke, Arsenal and possibly Aston Villa and QPR have been interested - plus a couple of clubs from Germany (Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Munich) and Marseille from France. I understand that Roma have dropped their interest after an offer of a pre-contract agreemnent was spurned. A move to Reading, Aston Villa or Stoke is unlikely. If pushed, I would say Newcastle, North London or foreign shores (Borussia Monchengladbach or Galatasaray) are the most likely destinations.}

05 Jul 2012 09:16:59
Hey eds Rodgers said he wanted to sign 3-4 players to improve the squad. Say if Aquilani, Cole and Bellamy left we'd have to signn a further 3 players to replace them? Or will the youngsters be given their chance? Thanks.

PakiRed
{Ed002's Note - Aquilani and Cole were not at the club last season so do not need replacing. Perhaps Sterling could start being looked at as a replacement for Bellamy?}

I think if any of last seasons squad were moved on, we will look at replacing them. Sterling could replace Bellamy as Ed has said. Also Cole or Pacheco could replace Maxi.

could this happen?city sign RVP,tevez go on loan to us,with half his wage subbed by city? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Dream on mate!

I could be wrong but I think half his wages would still be over £100,000 p/w. Not what I would call a bargain
RealisticRed

05 Jul 2012 08:38:42
Hi Edds, is there any interest from Liverpool of Ryad Boudebouz , he is a skillful player with surprisingly a cracking longshot! Cheers YNWA

Ilsinjo {Ed002's Note - Ryad Boudebouz will leave Sochaux with Real Betis and Lyon showing an interest. Way back in the day interest was shown by PSG, Spurs and Liverpool and certainly both made tentative enquiries. Lyon would seem to be the most likely destination right now although he is one of the two players that I understand Liverpool have recently asked to be kept informed of.}

Who is another one Liverpool have recently asked to be kept informed of? {Ed002's Note - Elm. Fiorentina, Juventus, Spurs, Manchester United, Lazio, Roma and Liverpool have shown interest in Rasmus Elm but there has been no bid, no discussions about price and certainly no agreement over a move - regardless of what people have said on Twitter.}

Who is th second ed002?:) {Ed002's Note - Read the post.}

05 Jul 2012 08:37:58
hi Eds, I think I know the standard answer on Ramirez off by heart. Do you know anything of these rumours this morning that we are in talks? {Ed002's Note - No. However, as I have postulated a move for Ramirez is certainly possible.}

05 Jul 2012 07:46:01
Liverpool will announce 2 new signings prior to full squad returning. Ramirez and Bernard - both highly rated by our incumbent uruquayans and Brazilian. Elusive players with flair and pass and go capabilities.

Johnson will not be coming.

Expect no more signings with the only exception being an opportunistic approach for back up left sided defender or back up striker for out of contract bowman style.

Adam on way along with Jay.

Hendo will be given time and downing one more chance to impress new management.

Lots of options across the pitch and youth to blend in - Rodgers style will make us top 4 contenders.

Evolution not revolution.

Ramirez£16m , Bernard £6m rising to £9m and Charlie and Jay will fetch £6m between them. Net £16m cash needed to support funding for ground extension.

Place your bets.

Would love this to be true but what is your source?? :/

Would love this to happen.

Been watching some Bernard on Youtube. Looks like he can cross and shoot of both feet, has pace and skill. I know its only youtube but looks an ideal player for our right side.

Gaston Ramirez would be oustanding in the hole behind.

Source - the voices in his head

My BET is that this won't happen...

Plenty of talk in Uruguay about Ramirez to LFC. Being in a camp with Suarez & Coates right now will also surely be helping Liverpool...

Coates and Suarez joining Bologna.

Saurez can tell him about his 8 match ban and Coates can tell him about life on the bench after winning player of the tournament at Copa?!

That should seal it!

Cavani and Gargano might be helping Napoli?

with us needing cover in the dm role, gago needing a new club and spearing likely to leave. match made in heaven? anything on that ed's? {Ed001's Note - I don't think there is any chance. Gago's wage demands are high and he has not actually performed well since his long injury lay off.}

Is there anything that u do no ed?

04 Jul 2012 23:15:25
Hi eds, any chance of us getting Daniel Parejo from Valencia? He fits in Rodgers style of play, and is not preferred in Valencia. {Ed001's Note - from what I can find out, Valencia don't need to sell, Alba only went because of a buy back clause apparently. But they are one of the few clubs in Spain that are not in deep doo doo right now. They were, but they seem to have sorted themselves out. I can't find out anything about us having an interest in him either, though that isn't 100% as we have scouted so many games, it is almost impossible to be sure which actual players we looked at.}

I thought Valencia were in deep sh*t {Ed002's Note - The debt is being serviced, the stadium issue remains. But they are OK right now whilst other Spanish clubs are at very serious risk of going out of business.}

05 Jul 2012 00:28:22
Andre Schürrle is the prime target for Rodgers. We are finalising a fee that could potential raise to approx £20m (with add ons). Gaston Ramirez is likley to be announced shortly after as a fee of £16.5m has been agreed in principal. Another 2 players are to sign in August once the squad is back from America.

Cheers JY

Would love this to be true but have reservations about it.

JY Kelly I think you are messing about again and telling porkies.

I would be over the moon if this was true but I just can't see it

Unbelievable...but if we were to sign these two players then we've done fantastically well...

Hope your correct mate, that would be AMAZING!! The friendly might be part of Schurrle deal....

Who is ur source?

YOU BETTER BE RIGHT

Personally don't see the schürrle signing going down, but would be absolutely ecstatic if by some chance it did. hoping ramirez gets done as well. need more flair next season.

Eds could you disect this or is it just bulls*** {Ed002's Note - Bayer Leverkusen may be willing to sell Schurrle if the player wishes to leave. There has been interest from Chelsea for about a year and following the departure of Kalou it is certainly possible they may now push for the player. There is unsubstaniated interest from Inter as well. The situation with Ramirez is well documented.}

Would love this. Young, tall, fast with skill and a career scoring record of pretty much 1 in 3. Would be an improvement on Downing's 0 in 36 :)

Both very talented schürrle can play striker and wing and ramirez attacking mid and wing. Young fast good shot sign them!

Who is this world class brazillian then, if you claim its neymar or someone alike, well then go and tell this bull to someone who isnt deluded. peace

We've already got one.

Are you Leandro Damiao?

Pele is too old for the EPL now. Would have taken him a couple of years ago though.

Lucas is already in liverpool mate he reported for pre season

My missus got a world class brazilian the other day

Dont think its damiao, said he didnt want to leave his club, lucas could well be heading to either chelsea or manchester and oscar looks like going to spurs!

Is this wax we'll be getting?

Quick snippet of info that has come from a decent source. BR's brother works in West Belfast and anyone who knows Belfast will realise that word gets around.
Anyway a mate of mine who works in the same place as BR's brother has just informed me that he was told today that Rogers is keen to get hold of Ramirez. That however it seems is his only current target - depends how much it costs to get him and what remains of the "budget, as to whether he picks up any other players. He stressed that he REALLY wants Ramirez. I sent him off on a mission to find out more info, so will forward it as and when it comes.

Any name that we can refer to you as? (I don't have on because I don't posts rumours (mostly questions for ed's))
