Ed is there any interest in Asier Illarramendi from the top clubs and.Liverpool? {Ed002's Note - Real Sociedad will look for a very significant fee for Asier Illarramenti who is of interest to Real Madrid - but their preference will be to keep the player. If Real Madrid cannot strike a deal for Illarramendi, they will continue to look to reaching agreement for Kondogbia that could see a player, Jese Rodriguez, included in the transaction on a loan, sale, or sale to buy back deal. That in itself is complicated by a separate situation with Jese Rodriguez. I suspect a deal will be done by Real Madrid for Illarramendi which will be perhaps have a slightly unusual structure to it.}

Believable3 Unbelievable14

It is thought here in Madrid that Xabi Alonso will be offered as part of 30 million euro buy out clause that Illramendi has.

Ed002 I completely understand what your saying about the clubs finances. no buisness can afford to lose fifty million year on year. the owners have and continue to do the best they can. equally I believe brendon and his staff a re doing all they can.however in your opinion how many years will it take for the club to sort its finances. I am not asking for financial breakdown just a general estimation of how long it will take to sort out. the reason I ask is I get the sense many fans are continually on the edge of turning against the club, which is a terrible shame in my opinion. its this modern illness people suffer with I want it all and I want it now. {Ed002's Note - The finances will be sorted out soon as the club is moving in the right direction - but it cannot screw up at the level that has been seen. BR wants the best for the club as does Mr Ayre and everyone one else on the management side and there is a plan and I think that Liverpool played good football the latter half of the season just gone. But I see many fans that still want radical change and that I don't understand. I have one fear for Liverpool right now, and that is that BR appears to be assembling a group of players (that may or may not improve the team) to play in a manner he advocates but would not suit any future coach coming to the club. I would think the chances of screwing up the primary target of CL qualification yet again would have to lead to a rethink. Taking young second tier, albeit talented, players from other leagues is not only high risk but the club could end up with players any other coach would not want to work with. Settling in a different culture for such players is often not easy (Pacheco for example).}

Believable22 Unbelievable9

Pacheco it seems is just not good enough . don't think it has anything to do with Culture ed

Agree4 Disagree3

I think that BR is doing a great job. I would like for him to be around for a long time, like sir Alex, Wenger or Moyes. In time he would do a great job. I like the attacking football we played last year.

Agree0 Disagree0

What true fan would ever turn against his team! I would support them in the conference! Utter rubbish!

Agree1 Disagree0

ED.

I get where you're coming from RE bringing players in which other managers wouldn't want to work with.

But we've been doing that for years any way, all the way back to Houllier. The last manager to bring in any players on substance which their predecessors could work with was, and I say this with a real stickler in my throad, Benitez. (Alonso, Mascherano and so on). But then he went and sold most of them!

My main fear isn't that this is happening with Brendan - it's how much longer can we let this go on without making significant progress (I.E top 4 year on year). Most fans aren't impatient and are realistic but we expect to be in the Champions League (it's where we belong!). The problem with fans in general at the moment is that nobody seems to walk the middle ground of setting realistic targets, fans either say ''lets spend 50Million on cavani and if we don't we're unambitious, bla bla bla, spiel spiel spiel. Or they say, ''Narghhh come on guys give them time, give Brendan time, in a couple of years we'll be here and there, bla bla bla spiel spiel spiel''.
I firmly believe there is a middle ground and I believe that middle ground is to qualify for the Champions league 3 our of the next 5 years at the very least. And In the mean time I would like to see us push for domestic cups.

Just my two pence.

Cheers.

RobbehLFC. {Ed002's Note - Champions League will again be the number one target this season.}

We don't belong in the Champions League - we get there only on merit.

We are a long way off from challenging Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal.

So Eds please answer this for me and maybe a few others. The news of HM going to Dortmund springs a few to react about FSG not backing Rodgers and all incoming so far £22.8m. + Toure signing fee is funded by sales £20.5m. If FSG want top 4 should back BR where is the summer budget etc. The answers you give are all about how we stupid fans don't understand finances and we're wrong etc. Well you have the knowledge and the platform to share, why not answer rather than fob off with little comments. I'll assume now if you do post this you'll answer will be 'Don't want to get into finances, you won't understand' or 'Never said fans are stupid' (although basically emply) So please explain, why if HM is no.1 target, BR wants FSG want top 4 CL football we haven't signed him, how is it we've spent £23m on fees and brought in £20m on sales that it seems we need to sell first, was there a £20-£25m summer budget?
Carlo

{Ed002's Note - I think your grasping at numbers and bitching at me is a good reason for me not wanting to get in to the finances.

You find it easy to exclude significant other costs associated with the transfers like: (a) Tax due on the transfer fee – typically this will be VAT (at varying rates across Europe) some or all of which should be reclaimable.
(b) Agent fees – this may be to one or more agents.
(c) Tax due on the agent fees – typically this is VAT at the local rate where the agent bills from – it is not reclaimable.
(d) Intermediary fees – this may be to one or more sponging leeches.
(e) Tax due on the Intermediary fees – typically this is VAT at the local rate where the Intermediary bills from – it is not reclaimable.
(f) Signing on fee to the player (possibly including non-reclaimable VAT if the player is VAT registered)
(g) Variables and tax on variables which may or may not be reclaimable) – these would typically include legal fees, moving/relocation costs, paying up insurance costs on the player, football association fees, signing on fee etc..

As a guide, Liverpool have spent £25M plus VAT on agent fees over the past three years) and possibly other intermediary fees.

The transfer window has only been open for five days and you are whining. The "transfer budget" you mention is simply some more numbers you have made up.

The club is losing very significant amounts of money.

The club is non-compliant with FFP rules.

The owners have been picking up the tab for £50M a year losses for each of the three years since they have been here.

I have told you for months and months that the club needs to move toward transfers paying for themselves - so why the bleating? I guess you simply didn't believe me?}

Believable52 Unbelievable15

If he does sign for Dortmund Ed there will be a lot of bitching off posters, instead of waiting to see if another target is lined up. There's always one player each year with people come gripped with. I prefer to wait and see who comes in.

Agree2 Disagree0

Ed, when you say Liverpool are non-compliant with FFP rules, is this to the extent that LFC will be banned from European competition or is it not as serious?

Thanks in advance

Agree0 Disagree1

Good post.
Don't think he's 'whining'.
He was stating SOME facts mixed probably with frustration.
Can't whine anymore now though, it's been explained to him in as much detail as he needs.
I still think we'll sign the Armenian by the way.
I don't believe Bild.
Call me whatever you want but I'm optimistic.
The Premier League is far better than The Bundesliga still in general.
More fans of the EPL worldwide for one.
More money in it for two.
I could be wrong, but as someone who doesn't come from England myself, my opinion is unbiased.
But there are a lot of Russian (I know he's Armenian) people living in Germany so maybe that might be important to him.
I'd suggest to stop panicking and let it play itself out.
It will be over soon enough once his owners buy his contract out.

To say that the Eds never get into the finances I think is also unfair, because even though they are reluctant to, I seem recall than an answer similar to this has been given before.

This is starting to get on my nerves one minute we got him then the next minute we haven't hopefully be is doing what fergie did and play mind games wiv the compition

Agree1 Disagree1

Mkhitaryan was too expensive! I suspect Liverpool may look to Munian or Tello and use Coutinho as 10.

Agree1 Disagree1

I don't get why some fans can't be patient. As the Ed said, it's only day 5 of the transfer window, another 55 or so remaining. So Carlo stop bitching and be patient. You're acting like you know better than the people who do this work for a living! Sort ya self out mate. YNWA

Agree0 Disagree0

Here are some more numbers for you, Carlo. Two (2) players were bought in January. So far, we have signed four (4) new players and a few (. ) youth players. Rodgers has stated that he would like two (2) more to come in: one (1) defender and one (1) attacking player. Today is the fifth (5th) day of the transfer window and there are still a lot (sh*t load) of players available who can make the club move forward. Worse come to worst, we'll still be able to put eleven (11) players on the pitch each (38+) game. Relax, man!

Agree2 Disagree0

Whatever slant you put on it we have four good signings an got rid of two players we have little need for. Time to be happy in my opinion. If Suarez leaves he will be replaced by someone of proven calibre. Chill and enjoy we have been the busiest club so far what exactly are you complaining about? We may have missed out on one player. It happens get over it

What about digne?

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you ever given thought that maybe Mkhitaryan simply prefers Dortmund? Can hardly blame him either. It amazes me how some still moan after bringing in 4 players already and we're still in the first week of July. By the sounds of things, Liverpool knew what had to be done to bring in Mkhitaryan and for whatever reason have been pipped to the deal by Dortmund. Still 7 odd weeks left of the window so chill out will you!

It does seem that there was a bit of a dig there. I speak for most when I say we appreciate the work the eds do, and hope the few don't make you leave.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we are all forgetting what a sad state of affairs we are slowly emerging from - Hicks and Gillette nearly ruined our club! (Brian Reade's book 'Epic Swindle' gives good account) FSG don't have the funds to buy the title like Citeh or Chelski and are putting in cash prudently. If we sell Suarez and invest the proceeds wisely we will have a better squad than last year. If we can continue to improve I don't think we can ask for more? Get behind BR and the boys and see what happens. My only criticism is those wretched kits for next year who on earth thinks they will sell?

Agree2 Disagree0

Spot on Ed, people don't realise we are still operating at a loss. They automatically assume "we are one of the biggest clubs in the world, we make loads of cash. What about all the commercial deals".

The fact of the matter is FSG have done as good as job as they could have so far. The club was in an absolute mess prior to their arrival and they are still cleaning up the mess.

Average players who aren't even good enough for our first team squad being paid £100K+ a week.

Joe Cole's wages for a year were equivalent to the club selling 5000+ season tickets. Just let that sink in for a moment.

Agree2 Disagree0

Are we in the champions league?

No didn't think so, why do you think suarez really wants out?

SO GET REAL!

Agree1 Disagree0

As a Liverpool fan I can see the frustration plus the reality from both sides, but until a bigger, more money generative stadium IS in place, extra prize money from competitions(eg trying to obtain CL)and bigger or more sponsorship, what are we supposed to do?I for one do no not want to win things on the back of rich Arab owners, but through younger, talented players on the up with no big ego!Maybe the American guys are or aren't the right guys at the top, but a least they're money savvy trying to balance the books.And don't forget 3 years ago when the clowns nearly bankrupted us.Re-building takes time, right players for the right money.I for one believe after last seasons goals and play, they are on the right track.The Ed's talk like Yoda. Listen to them and give them a break they are on our side trying to help

Hey. I have posted an apology and thanks for the reply. I wasn't being bitchy and haven't slated FSG or that we haven't done enough business. Agree2 Disagree0

Can anyone tell me what did fsg actually pay for the club or did they just take it over because hicks and gillette got nothing {Ed030's Note - Yes of course they did mate. }

Agree0 Disagree0

HM is probably going to have three or four medicals at Dortmund as well. Then maybe head over to a team in League 1 and have a few more over there. Rumours are just rumours. Until there is an official announcement from Shaktar everything is still in the air. There is no point getting all wound up.
Even if HM doesn't sign for LFC and really was BR's first choice, I'm sure there are other targets lined up. A couple of weeks of continuous reports, a few youtube videos, some reading up and I'm sure you'll be ready to crucify manager and owners allover again for the next lad.
The Eds are here on their own free time doing an amazing job at keeping us informed. Having moved passed criticizing Eds for having opinions different to ours, to criticizing Eds over imaginary discussions allow me to share this word of advice: If you can't even agree with your imaginary Ed all you probably need is a hug.
Zari and my imaginary Ed

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed, in the real world you purchase an item and all vendor cost and tax are included.

In the business world you generally purchase something and take taxes into account.

In the football world everything happens differently with every hanger on wanting extra. So us simple people expect that if we pay 40 million for a player then all parties have been included in the cost ( possibly aside from the taxman).

I don't think the original poster was having a go but not agitated with a lack of actual response.

Red x x bang bang

Agree1 Disagree0

We ain't got the money to spend what about that, only to improve the stadium the 150mill fuk the stadium let's have some decent players in

Agree0 Disagree0

"Can anyone tell me what did fsg actually pay for the club or did they just take it over because hicks and gillette got nothing"-
My understanding was they reached an agreement with our creditors to wipe off the debt owed by H+G in return for ownership. H+G tried to block this move by replacing the other 3 board members with their own people. Luckily and what all the fuss at the courts was about our creditors and H+G had made and agreement the previous year that in return for refinancing of our debts(basically a loan to pay back a loan that was probably used to pay back another loan) Martin Broughton be installed as chairman to oversee the sale of the club and be the only one allowed to change board members. The court ruled in the favour of Broughton and co and the board voted 3-2 in favour of selling to FSG. H+G never saw the money as the banks took it to clear the debts owed by them.

I tried to reply but not sure it went through.
First. Thanks Ed002 for the full reply. I honestly am not aware of the costs involved in a transfer. I knew you would and just wanted the proper info to understand and for others to refer to rather than post crap and blame. As a normal fan I see a player sold for £10m and think we can go and buy one for £10m. When this doesn't happen I do not appreciate why.
Second. I'm a fan of this site and do really appreciate you and other eds time and efforts. Sorry if the post came across bitchy. I wanted a full answer to stop everyone keep asking about funds and blaming FSG as I also sometimes do.
Sorry and thanks.
Without the knowledge I go by press. Right or wrong. Read a budget. Read the money from sponsorship deals. Sales etc. thanks for clarifying.

Agree1 Disagree0

The thing I really don't understand is how the club is losing this £50m per year. Could some one please explain this to me?

I realise that losing champions league football is a good wedge, but since then we have cut the wage bill significantly, added to revenues and slashed our interest costs.

Surely it isn't just severance costs?!

Ed, when you say Liverpool are non-compliant with FFP rules, is this to the extent that LFC will be banned from European competition or is it not as serious?

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jul 2013 21:20:18
What's your problem Carlo? Ed002 has made it abundantly clear that the club know what they needed to do to sign him, i.e. pay a certain amount. The club were not sure if they wanted to pay that much for him, as they are asking for a lot. SO WHAT? The club want to get a good deal, get over it. And you make out like you've been reading this site for ages and somehow you haven't picked up on the costs other than the transfer fee itself, that's been covered a gazillion times.

Should the club bend over and just take every price a club quotes? Who's to pay for this, the owners have done very well for the club - only drawback is the stadium progress.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jul 2013 21:35:31
Ed002 are there any other EPL clubs who have spent as much and are not compliant of FFP rules as you have stated LFC are!? {Ed002's Note - Right now Manchester City are top of the pile. The likes of Southampton and Chelsea would get the same kick on the shins due Liverpool.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed I respect your posts can I just ask you is your team interested in luis suarez, markie {Ed036's Note - Gillingham can't afford him chum.}

Agree1 Disagree0

The real problem is a lot of fans don't grasp were we are now. As for why we have losses of 50 million a year is because of the previous clowns (I don't feel it's right to call them owners). To many players have come to Liverpool on stupid wages, this is why Rodgers last summer we won't be offering stupid wages to anyone until they earn it. While there are still them players there we will always suffer. There is no instant problem it will take time but we will get there.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why should any owner back a manager if the funding is unsustainable?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we were never in the running to sign micky was all a smoke screen to say look we went to buy a 25m target but just missed out. It was reported that Liverpool never bid for the player. Plus they tie up deal with owners but Liverpool can't do a deal because he was owned by third party even though we were first to supposedly make offer, stinks a bit . Now we'll end up with some cut price player, what nobody wants

Agree0 Disagree0

21.5m + is good money saved this guy is average at the best, ok a few good uefa champ league games granted but he plays is a piss poor league were even spearing would look like mascherano! Move on go try eriksen at 13-15m€ and a up and coming striker I.e tello, morato, mkhitrayan wasn't even the best player at shaktar William and fernandinho all better all round no matter what goals say,, doesn't mean lampard is better than Gerrard eh

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool are not losing £50m a year. They recorded paper loses of £50m in 1 season but that included the writing off of £35m worth of costs relating to the failed Stanley park stadium which were incurred by the H&G over the length of their ownership. In the following year (the latest accounts we have released) the club made a loss of £40m. Still a significant figure but not £50m.

This included the cost of moving on all the high paid flops signed under H&G. With these players moved on (off the wage bill) and the introduction of the warrior kit deal plus other financial partners and sponsorship deals this seasons accounts should be emensly better.

Expect loses of around £10m for the 2012-13 financial year when the figures are submitted to companies house in early 2014.

{Ed002's Note - The first two seasons that the owners were in charge the club posted losses of £50M for each year - writing off costs is of no relevance. Your nit picking about the third year only losing £40M (after previously stating the club had not posted the third year accounts) is rather embarrassing as thosee accounts only covered a 10 month period. Another example showing why we don't discuss finances.}

Agree0 Disagree0

So we had the funds for Mickey, were interested in the player but, according to the BBC website, never managed to hold talks with him? Sorry but if that's true that it smacks of amateur behind the scenes management. Surely it is the job of people like Ayre to meet potential transfer targets and discuss a potential move, financial side of a transfer etc etc? If so why was no contact made with a player we so obviously held a great interest in? Doesn't make any sense, fully understand what the eds are saying about the finances being more complicated but the noises coming from the club seem to suggest they were willing to pay what Dortmund have paid - if that's the case why no meeting, why no pushing ahead with a potential transfer? Seems more to this than what we've heard, very strange - hope it isn't an indication of our transfer business to come this summer. {Ed002's Note - What were you expecting, Liverpool to make an illegal approach to the player? You need to read up on the transfer process because Liverpool cannot talk with a player without the permission of his club.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I am fine with not spending 30 million, including agent fees and taxes, on this player.

There is no need to resort to that now.

We need to first get to operating without losses before splashing that kind of cash - unless it is offset by a sale, as in the case of Torres/Carroll.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Just to answer this earlier reply:

"Ed not meaning to have a go but I am getting frustraited with u going on about finances and sfg have been putting 50 mil a year into Liverpool . your wrong last 3 seasons we have been in profit" - No, the last three years Liverpool has losses circa £50M per year.

"carrol never cost 35 mil because it was in installments agrements ie league apearences we on the club basicly stiffed Newcastle" - No, Carroll cost £36M and that has all been paid.

"the monies we generate have two folded we are making money wages hals halfed since sfg come in half that's massive" - No, the wages have not been halved.

"also without suposidly any debt" - No, the club carries circa £105M in debt.

"u go on like its just Liverpool who pay tax vat and so on but every single team in the league pay this" - No, I understand that all clubs have to pay these charges - my point was that most posters conveniently ignore them.

"if totenham can spend monies big we should be able to more than" - Liverpool has consistently been spending more money than Spurs.

"we generate more money than ay other club in the leauge bar utd these are the facts" - No, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City all generated more income than Liverpool last season.

I would reply to the rest of your post but really don't understand it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Too OP it isn't about the finances, Lpool were willing to pay the money for HM, the problems are with Raiola the so called superagent.

Some of you think a player at 20m is just that, as the eds point out they can agree with the club a fee, agree wages etc with HM but when an agent who has done hardly anything starts demanding 6m payments we have to draw the line. All you see is 20m, the club then has a 4-5 year wage outlay, insurance, many taxes etc. Do you think this money just appears from nowhere?

We still have money to spend otherwise why do you think Lpool have just wasted weeks trying to buy him?

Good lord some of you.

I have heard that QPR have offerd Loic Remy to Liverpool at a cut deal. what's the chances of this ED's? {Ed002's Note - Remy may well move on this summer and QPR expected an enquiry from Spurs - that never happened. Inter see Remy as a cheap solution and have sought assistance from someone at Marseille to help persuade him to move from England, where he is apparently keen to stay. She tells me that any interest from other clubs, such as Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle at this time would seem to be no more than speculative with Newcastle making it clear that they will not be declaring any interest at €8M. This one could run all summer or he will need to return to mainland Europe.}

what do you think to the rumours of us being in pole position to sign toby alderwield. Any truth to them? {Ed002's Note - I expected Alderweireld to go to Spurs to replace Gallas or Roma to replace Marquinhos and I would not discount either club showing an interest in him still. Liverpool decided the asking price was too high, but it is certainly less than that being asked for Papadopoulos. It looked likely that a move to Bayer Leverkusen would go ahead but they too see him as over priced. Maybe Liverpool will look to him again if Skrtel or Agger move on. Arsenal may well show some interest.}

Would be a good choice if Skrtel left as he can cover LB as well as CB and would be available for around £9M which is actually very good for a player of his calibre, however I don't see Skrtel leaving and I expect us to replace Coates with Ilori.

How is it that Southampton and spurs are attempting to sign Damiao but no top level clubs are? I thought this lad was expected to be a top talent? What are your thoughts, Ed's, on Damiao as a player, where he is expected to end up and why there is no interest from Liverpool {Ed002's Note - Leandro Damiao has complex ownership issues so it will not be an easy ride for any potential buyer that wants to negotiate a low fee. The player still says wants to move to Chelsea but their interest would only be there if other targets were not achievable, but they have taken a look at him. There was been some interest shown by Dortmund earlier in the year and they went as far as speaking to Internacional about the player but they have moved their attention elsewhere now. Right now Napoli is continuing to show the most interest and it is a destination that, I understand, would be agreeable to the player - but they are not happy with the asking price. l'OM remains very interested but the price being asked is far too high for Marseille. This leaves Spurs who are well placed to look for a deal should they continue with their interest - but they are looking elsewhere. I understand that whilst there is certainly interest from Southampton, there has been no formal offer from them.}

Believable9 Unbelievable3

I would love damiao at Liverpool but I know we will never sign him he looks a top upcoming player

Agree0 Disagree0

He's also had a poor season and has slipped down the rankings here in Brazil. Evidenced by the fact that Fred was ahead of him for the Selecao's Confederation Cup squad. And despite him being cut from the squad due to a last minute injury his absence was not felt at all. In fact quite to the contrary, his replacement Jo did really well and I think Damiao will have a hard job getting his place back.

I think he, ll go to Atletico

He will replace Cavani at Napoli I think.

Spurs are top club from a Liverpool fan! It seems to be only Southampton that want him though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your forgetting that southampton have the means to sign many players that would not normally be linked with them

Agree0 Disagree0

What an arrogant bunch! You can't afford to sign players but still think you are a top club, competing for a top 4 position!
Why should other clubs not be looking to sign top players, you post day after day "are we interested in this player" when you simply can't afford half of them. Perhaps some of these players saw "high profile" Liverpool get taken apart by Saints?

Yes, other clubs supporters SOMETIMES do the same thing but generally are realistic about the financial situation of their clubs. Liverpool are in the situation they are today from spending out silly money and yet you are advocating more of the same-just another Leeds!

Could Liverpool be interested in Saviola fair enough he is 31yrs old, but he has vast amounts of experience and is available ion a free transfer and I wouldn't of thought his wages would be much more than £60K a week. {Ed002's Note - I really would not think so.}

Believable7 Unbelievable36

Lol worst suggestion for a transfer i've heard, let's sign a past it, not that good even in his prime player who will command 60k per week in wages. LOL.

Agree0 Disagree1

Always over rated. He'd never cut it in the prem. Not now not ever.

Agree with 1st response, this suggestion is pathetic!

Cardiff city and west ham are after him m8

Morning Eds. With all this will he won't he stuff going on with Suares do you still fully expect he will go in this window? Just wondering if you view or opnion has changed? {Ed002's Note - His representatives are trying very hard to get clubs to make a bid for the player - and they are really looking to get Real Madrid to approach Liverpool. Right now they face a battle due to Ancelotti being nervous about signing the player and encouraging RM to look elsewhere. So it is still something we need to wait a little longer to see what happens.}

Believable25 Unbelievable5

So it could turn out that we can't get him the move he wants and he ends up staying?

Agree2 Disagree2

Have any other clubs recently taken an interest in Suarez besides RM, Bayern City etc that were already mentioned?Have Napoli been approached?

PK {Ed002's Note - A well-positioned French-based scout for another EPL side thinks that PSG will become interested and that Monaco and Napoli may also become interested. PSG are going to become very focused on Cavani and have a more pressing issue that needs to be addressed first - so we will have to see. There is also a suggestion that if Ibrahimovic were sold, PSG would look to unite Cavani and Suarez. I am not convinced about either of the other sides at this time - although that might change. Juventus look to have addressed their needs so I doubt they will be looking at Suarez any longer.}

Hello Ed,
what about the rumours of a move to Chelsea?
I would be really pissed off at LFC if they allow another of our players to move there. The stance should be simple no selling of star players to rivals no matter the money involved.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry Ed you didn't answer my post related to Suarez and Chelsea. A simple answer of its complete BULL will do. {Ed002's Note - I would never say that about a football rumour, but Chelsea has made no approach to Liverpool at this time.}

Ancelotti may have worries, but Real Madrid will still go for LS, especially when Cavani signs for PSG as Real Madrid are losing their striking targets, they will not want to miss out on LS. I think they are waiting for Liverpool to commit a lot of money to signing Mickey before they try getting him cheap. They are not stupid and they know Liverpool will be desperate to sell LS once Liverpool have committed a lot of money to the Mickey deal. Sparky.

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez and Aspas up front should be interesting.

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool can afford the Mickey deal irrespective of the Suarez transfer - if Madrid are hoping to get a cut price deal late in August they will be very disappointed, Suarez has his price and it is fair given his ability. If Madrid don't want to pay it they can jog on, its about time we stopped getting fleeced by others teams.

Do you give any credence to the reported three weeks deadline that Liverpool have set Suarez, to get his future sorted, Ed002?
The Juicer {Ed002's Note - The club will want matters resolved as soon as possible and have no doubt made that clear to the player via his agent.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If we keep Suarez and land Mkhitaryan we will be awesome next season fingers crossed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do Suarez's representatives want clubs to make a bid for him? {Ed002's Note - Because he wants to leave Liverpool.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Because the agent gets a significant fee for the transfer. It's not only players that agitate for moves. It's one of the main ways agents get their fees.

Are Liverpool are interested in Jese Rodriguez of Real Madrid Castilla? {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid would like him Jese Rodriguez to sign a new deal but the player is going to seek assurances about playing time that I am not so sure Real Madrid will agree to. Additionally, Real Madrid are still one of the clubs looking to a deal for Kondogbia that could see Jese Rodriguez included in the transaction with Sevilla on a loan (if he extends), sale, or sale to buy back deal.}

Dear eds, was wondering if we had any interest in scocco the argentinan striker from what I have seen he is simply world class scores all types of goals looks a lot like suarez and would surely not cost the earth. {Ed002's Note - Not a chance.}

I agree scocco is a freak of a player he would be brilliant replacement if Suarez leaves

He seems to be in a bit of a strange situation, he seems to have everything that would allow him to play in europe but doesn't want to come to europe.

Hi eds, just wondering if there is actually any truth in the suarez link to arsenal? he seems to be linked to any big club now, including top teams in the premier league now. Considering suarez's "hatred" for the english media should we rule out any move to a english team?

Brownlee2910 {Ed001's Note - no truth that I am aware of.}

Hi eds,

Was just wondering if you had any info on ngoo, another loan perhaps {Ed001's Note - he is available for loan or transfer I am told.}

Believable10 Unbelievable5

ED001 do you know if Chelsea are interested in Suarez now that Cavani is off to PSG? {Ed001's Note - no I don't, sorry. I would be surprised if they would want him though, with all the hassle he brings.}

Agree0 Disagree1

He's not the right build for Rodgers liking, we've got a tiny team height wise, it's a bit of a worry but the rationale seems to be 'let's do a Barcalona/Spain' but they've got Messi and we have Suarez, although we seem about to sell the unhappy chappy.

Agree2 Disagree1

I don't understand people's fixation on Rodgers liking players who are small in stature?
Sturridge is a big lad, Toure is a monster, he has consistently said how much he likes Wisdom.
There's a difference between being a "small player" and being a player of small stature.
Just because Ngoo is a giant, doesn't mean Rodgers doesn't fancy him. It's probably how scruffy he is on the ball and how he tends to leave the defensive side to any other player
