Fee agreed for Enrique a while back, negotiations over personal terms continue.

In final negotiations over a couple of million for Henderson. Same for Downing, if deal breaks down Liverpool will turn to the more expensive -but I think more promising - Adam Johnson.

Other top targets include Young, Mata, Adam, Alonso, and Dann/Hangeland/Shawcross

Young more than likely off to the mancs, as well as Adam (or Spurs). Mata on international duty and international transfer window currently closed. While Alonso is a strong doubt for this transfer window, but will always be on LFC's radar, and we will always be on his.

reports are saying we are going to sign henderson for 18.5 million i think thats a bit much...

I live in blackpool and have posted before about charlie adam joining i have also spoken to him a few times and at the moment he is gutted because liverpool have cooled their interest in him and he's in limbo at the moment especially if we tie up the henderson deal he wont be coming.He said he only ever wanted to join liverpool.I have always said he is a quality player and would be perfect for liverpool with his range of passing.Most people on here say he does not work hard enough or track back but having seen him in about 23 games this season live i can tell you he does.Everybody slagging him must have a sky sports season ticket or are not happy because we are not signing a 20 mill+ foreign player.Trust me next season wherever he is he will be quality i just dont want it to be for the mancs!!

Liverpool and Arsenal are in touch with Barcelona over signing unwanted forward Bojan.

The 20-year-old is keen to leave the European champions after a frustrating season consisting largely of substitute appearances.

Liverpool would consider spending £17million and could try to do a double deal involving Bojan's team-mate Jeffren, another forward set to slip further down the pecking order when Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola finalises a deal for Giuseppe Rossi from Villarreal.

Arsenal are also interested in former Birmingham midfielder and free agent Sebastian Larsson, 25. Blackburn, Sunderland and Newcastle have also made offers.

Midfielder Joe Cole is leaning towards staying at Anfield. Liverpool are willing to offload the 29-year-old for around £3m but he would have to prove his fitness.

Manchester United's last-ditch hopes of signing Jordan Henderson look to have faltered with the Sunderland midfielder intent on joining Liverpool.

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is eager to bring in United's Darron Gibson, Danny Welbeck and Wes Brown but will now have to offer cash.

England Under 21 star Henderson wants his Liverpool move wrapped up by Wednesday and hopes to be joined by Ipswich's Connor Wickham once Liverpool increase their offer to £10m.

Alonso interview he made it clear how much he loves our club, but he's a Real Madrid player now. The chances of him joining us this summer is less then 5% in my eyes, I would love for the bloke to come back he is an absolute legend.
Please don't read too much into the interview, because like (as the ed's have already said themselves) I expect him to return one day, just not now, it's just wishful thinking lads and ladettes :(

I think we should sign Bojan Krkic, Adam Johnson, Juan Mata, Ryad Boudebouz, Phil Jones and Jordan Henderson. All are very skillful players, with bags of potential; I hope we will see a few of these signings. Liverpool is back on the up. Ed what do you think? Watch out you Manchester B*stards.

Harvey Keirle.

i have never seen boudebouz' name linked to lfc now all of a sudden every one knows hes very skilfull with bags of potential? total c.rap to be honest, lests pick a player thats not been linked to lfc from somewhere in europe & lets see how many people say how good he is JUST cause hes linked to lfc!!!

Alonso back to Liverpool for 16m.....wait and see!

05 Jun 2011 22:45:02
Everybody ready for the xabi alonso rumours to start again after the interview, very much doubt it mind, alonso a true red and pure class act

05 Jun 2011 22:42:38
Ed did u hear what alonso said on Lfc tv ( the woman asked do u think u will ever play for Lfc again alonso said why not anything can happen and it's a possibility what do you think about this ed ) {Ed002's Note - As I said before, I would not be surprised to see him come back at some point, but not this year.}

Why people post complete lies on here is beyond me... What do they gain from doing so? I don't believe anyone knows what will happen this summer regarding transfers, not even the king himself. We have targets and it appears that they are all young promising British players. Forget mata it won't happen. Man utd will buy Henderson fat Bruce won't sell to us over whisky nose, young will also be at utd next season. I think there is a chance we might get downing. Wickham I think we will try are best to sign and 1 more player for the LB position. Can't see us signing Enrique I don't think he is any better than Kelly or Johnson. Dave

However, he is left-footed. Probably makes him a better left back than either Kelly or Johnson.

05 Jun 2011 22:31:18
Stewart downing fee agreed less than hours ago, u heard it here first, still not guarenteed he will sign but we can now begin to negotiate with downing over wages, the fee is in the region of 13.7 million with an add-on for assists next season that could take the fee to just shy of 15million, my sources are very reliable i was first to release the story of the 8million bid for connor wickham, watch this space
Tylerliverpool ------------------------------omg looks like my worst nightmare has come true!downing is no good.looks like we wont be getting mata now then.what you make of this ed?? {Ed002's Note - I do not believe it to be true.}

Hi mate, just to say, were are in talks with Valencia and Mata himself and the deal should be ready to go through as soon as the international window opens. Liverpool are the candidates most likely to get Henderson. we are in talks with Sunderland and we are negoitating a fee, which looks extremly close to going through. I have very reliable sources inside Anfield.

Thanks, James. {Ed002's Note - You do appreciate that Mata is away with the U21s on International duty?}

05 Jun 2011 22:26:10
Ed, do you think it is true that we have agreed to pay 16m for downing? {Ed002's Note - No, I don't. Otherwise this will have been the busiest Sunday on record.}

05 Jun 2011 22:19:22
Aly Cissokho RUMOURS are progressing, doubt a bid has been made but one might be in a week or so. I Would prefer Cissokho to any other Left back. Good defensively and great offensively. Also pretty strong. Is a 15million pound bid reasonable? I know that Lyon are difficult to deal with but do you believe that 15million is around his price ed?

T-Dog. {Ed002's Note - Cissokho will probably not be leaving Lyon this summer unless a high fee is paid. I would guess that Lyon will ask in excess of £20M as a starting point for negotiation.}

05 Jun 2011 22:13:14
Do you think if Real Madrid go for Tevez, Man City will go for Aguero? I think that is more realistic than us going for him. That does of course mean we have more of a chance to sign Mata and Johnson. Just a thought!

T-Dog.

I watched a lot of Valencia last season. Of course mata shone and would clearly a massive addition to our team. Two other players who caught my eye were Soldado and Joaqu n, any interest in either of these two players eds? {Ed002's Note - Not that I know of.}

___________________________________

I watch Valencia a lot as well, I go out there quite a lot (I've recently had a week there), Joaquin is good but getting on a bit and yes, Soldado is a class player, no reason why we shouldn't have interest regarding Valencia's financial problems.

Mata is certainly the man we want and need and would be a fantastic asset to the squad, but if we lose out on him I think we should defo go for Pablo Hernandez, another Valencia player. He has a lot of ability and would fit in to our team just as easily as Mata.

According to spanish tabloids Real Madrid may go for Tevez. Interesting...

05 Jun 2011 21:43:02
Mata is being given the number 10 which spells the end for Joe cole at liverpool

05 Jun 2011 21:37:22
I don't think that we need another striker "IF" we sign Mata. Because he can play as striker & Kuyt proved that he can score regularly if played as a striker. Its perfectly understandable that he hasn't been the most prolific scorer from the right wing. Gerrard can also play there & score goals. Imagine an attack of Carroll, Suarez, Mata & Gerrard. I also think that Marveaux is going to do very well.

05 Jun 2011 21:35:06
has a bid been made for nzog yet (I would love him to sign also he can play left back and in midfield)

05 Jun 2011 21:25:07
Apparently Dalglish has £75m to spent this summer and he's going to spend most of it on good but not world class players.

Jose Enrique (LB) - Newcastle want around £13m for him but Dalglish reckons he can get him for around £10m.

Ashley Young (LW) - Dalglish picked up on the fact that Sanchez had no intention of joining the club so while the likes of United, City and Barcelona are having a bidding war for Sanchez's signature... Dalglish is trying to tie up a deal for Young because United think they can fall back onto Young if Sanchez doesn't join them. £18m is the fee.

Charlie Adam (CM) - Adam knows that Spurs are interested aswell but Adam says he made his mind up where he wanted to a while ago now. LFC are the club he wants to join. £16m is the fee.

Phil Jones (CB) - Young lad from Blackburn with a good potential. £10m is the fee.

Charles N'Zogbia (RW) - Dalglish reckons he could get him for £8m. N'Zogbia wants out to prove he is good enough to play for a better team.

This is my 1st post so bear with me...I'm a massive Liverpool fan have been for 35 years but i also watch Swansea City as it is my local club.
Right here's the Info I have, Newcastle Utd have asked permission to speak to Swansea full back Neil Taylor with a possible move up north. Does this mean that Enrique is on his way out of St James???

The Swansea thing is Fact I'm just guessing bout the rest tho, make up your own mind.

hi ed do u think this summer transfer window
could be a big 1 that could set the foundations for or team for years to come in they players we get in. {Ed002's Note - The club will be looking to improve the squad but there will not be 25 out and 25 in. There will be financial constraints that means there will not be 100's of £M spent.}

05 Jun 2011 21:15:54
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish will try to make a number of changes in the squad over the summer. Paul Konchesky looks certain to leave with QPR, WBA and Leicester all linked. Dalglish himself is now preparing a bid for Lyon left back Aly Cissokho.

I just found this on soccervoice.com...not sure about reliability.

05 Jun 2011 21:09:37
ed have liverpool been linked with veloso at all he is a young brilliant player, cheers {Ed002's Note - No. Everyone need to stop throwing up one random name after another - it is wasting my time and everybody elses. It is fine to ask sensibly but we are now just getting and endless stream of names from some Football 2011 game or whatever.}

05 Jun 2011 21:08:01
Summer buys will include the below.

Jan Vertonghen Ajax 10 million.
Samir Nasri Arsenal 10 million.

Both quality additions

Ed someone tied to Nasri was in Talksport earlier and he stated there were numerous teams showing an interest in him.

Now I know this might be to drum up fake interest but do you know if we have shown any interest in him? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any.}

05 Jun 2011 21:04:03
Evening Ed can you confirm if we have shown any concecrete interest in either Jan Vertonghen of Ajax or Simon Kjaer of Wolfsburg?

I've heard rumours on Vertongen of a proposed bid but wasn't sure if it was true or not, can you clarify mate? {Ed002's Note - I expect Vertonghen will move to Manchester City or Arsenal and Kjaer to Italy if another side in Germany don't pick him up. I don't know of serious or recent interest in either.}

Hi fellow Reds!

Would just like to say to eds that you do a fantastic job and commend your efforts for the rest of us.

In regards to transfers.. i am bitterly disappointed! Disappointed with the rumoured players (which i don't believe)

Barton, Warnock, Henderson, McCarthy are not worthy enough to play for us (next season). I am happy if we sign Henderson/McCarthy for future but if it comes at the expense of top quality transfers for next season, players who are ready to play first xi, mata, hazard, diego etc then i think we will not see top flight footy for years to come.

Sincerely hope we buy players who walk into our current first xi cos the above mentioned players do not fit thia category.

do u think sebastian jovetic would be available and how much would he cost, hes young plays brilliant behind the striker also he plays on the left and can be a back up striker it what we are looking for. what do u think ed, how much would he cost have liverpool showed interest and would he come to us? {Ed002's Note - There is no link to him that I am aware of and it seems very unlikely there will be.}

05 Jun 2011 20:42:59
Ed, are we still in the market for a goalkeeper? Or were we just after Friedel because of his availability and possible coaching.

Stu. {Ed002's Note - I don't know but there have been one or two mentioned in the past week or so.}

Driving passed Melwood this morning and noticed a very glamourous porsche driving out. As i looked in the car i noticed it was nasri.
I told my dad and he heard liverpool are about to make a £30million deal to sign him from arsenal and he will be on £80k a week.
Poulsen and cole out to make the wages for him.

05 Jun 2011 20:35:55
eds, is there or have you heard of any interest in afellay? {Ed002's Note - Arsenal an option if Barcelona wish to sweeten an offer for Fabregas. Liverpool could make an approach that would be listened to.}

if barcelona get Sanchez we should move quick for Afellay class player

Evening Ed's

Is there any true that you know of ref Agger going this Summer?
Internet rumours say Bayern Leverkusen have offer £10m with Hamberg and Malager also enquiring?

Thanks,

05 Jun 2011 19:44:48
Hi Ed's.
I just read this on the Real Madrid rumours page:
"Higuain to Liverpool for around 15mil if the madrid deal for aguero goes through"

I know it is unlikely that Aguero will go to Real Madrid, but you never know. I'm not asking about Aguero, but let's say that he went to Real Madrid, do you think that we would have any chance of signing Higuain?

Martin, YNWA! {Ed002's Note - His availability was mentioned to me a while ago and my understanding remains that Higuain will become available if Real Madrid sign Aguero - and if that is the case then he will likely head to Turin. However, putting all thought of any £15M price tag out of your mind, there is no reason that would stop Liverpool bidding and being considered.}

05 Jun 2011 19:32:30
Liverpool are set to hijack Napoli s bid for Spurs midfielder Wilson Palacios according to sources, Napoli havent met Spurs valuation and a bid of around £12m should be accepted by Tottenham. It is understood Palacios would prefer a move to Napoli though, with CL football the main lure.

05 Jun 2011 19:31:06
why are we being linked with players like warnock and barton when neither are young, and neither would add anything to our team, so would be a complete waste of time, space, money and wages. lets stop posting ridiculous rumours please

05 Jun 2011 19:27:50
Ed, do you think we are close to signing downing or that our interest is being blown out of proportion? I hope we go nowhere near him I think he is average not a player of the "highest calibre" as kenny said {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

05 Jun 2011 19:26:25
joe cole aint going to spurs as they dont want him and have shown no interest in him what so ever! i hear that we are interested in signing Lucas Moura from sao paolo. Henderson and Downing deals to be tied up in next 48hrs. might not be announced yet though.

05 Jun 2011 19:19:26
just wondering ed if you know if the enquiry made about Ryad Boudebouz is true? and is he what we are looking for on the wing ?? {Ed002's Note - And you decided to ask after reading my previous answer?}

stephen warnock will sign for 3 million. kenny believes we will have enough in that position with aurelio and robinson plus the ability of flanno and johno to play there. {Ed002's Note - And Enrique who has been subject of a bid?}
----------------------------------------------

to be fair, clubs often bid for several players for one position to keep their options open.

05 Jun 2011 19:08:31
I've been thinking over the last couple of days after seeing an Alonso returning rumour on here and i think he has/will re-sign for us. Firstly there is the full interview on LFCTV tonight, in which he may say something then but it is the time of the interview that gives it away for me. It is aired at 10pm, which is fairly late in the evening which coinsides with my theory. There is 20% off on the official online store but that is only until 9am tommorrow morning. So that signals to me that there is only a small window to get "Alonso" shirts for a few hours. I might be way off the mark but then again, it's something to think about. I for one will be over the moon if we re-signed him.
-----------------------
Now that is some conspiracy theory!
Alonso is integral to Real at the moment so don't expect to see him back at Anfield any time soon. Maybe in a couple of years but definitely not sooner

I know alot of names have been thrown around as to who we are going to sign at lb, just wondering have liverpool shown interest in any of the following and can you rate the chance liverpool would have of signing them if they were to make a bid: tremoulinas, gibbs, taiwo. and also centre back benadict howedes
cheers {Ed002's Note - Aside from not knowing about Gibbs, the others have had no interest from Liverpool. Two have next season already sorted out and one seems unlikely to leave his club. Chances are: 0, ?, 0, 1.}

How much would Boudebouz cost? {Ed002's Note - Very little - certainly not more than £5M. The source article that is being referred to is from last November by the way.}

He looks a good player. Would £5m be a bargain or would it just be like signing a random squad player like Maxi Rodriguez?

{Ed002's Note - Boudebouz has had a good season for Sochaux. St-Etienne want the player to replace Dmitri Payet and Marseille are showing strong interest. There is also some interest from Lyon and Newcastle. Any interest listed from Spurs and Liverpool is likely from last year and perhaps exagerated at this time in an effort being made to beef up his price. A better move would be for Payet who St-Et want him as a replacement for.}

hi ed, have liverpool shown any interest in michael owen????? kk loved him as a kid and now hes on a free, i think kk could bring the best out of him again {Ed002's Note - Actually he has signed a new contract at Old Trafford.}

Ed, heard a whisper, but i stress it was a whisper, anyway have you anything on xabi alonso returning back to Anfield? {Ed002's Note - May return to Liverpool onbe day but likely way too expensive for this summer.}

05 Jun 2011 17:43:20
Eds
Dieago Perotti. He's got to be a great shout? Have liverpool made a formal approach? Also how about Scott Parker or maybe even Kevin Nolan? Both Quality Players. {Ed002's Note - There is confirmed interest in Perotti. I doubt that Liverpool will be interested in Nolan or Parker.}

Newcastle are looking to sign Izzaguire which could means that we will sign Enrique. I would much rather spend more money and get Cissokho though but I dont know if Lyon want to sell or if he wants to come to us.

Busy summer for Liverpool! Boudebouz is a genius.

Hi Eds
Do you think Juan Mata will be a liverpool player? If not, who else is on the market that liverpool have shown an interest in?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Perhaps he will become one - as for others you have to read the rumours pages.}

05 Jun 2011 17:00:43
Adam Johnson..young, English and extremely skillful..why don't we snap him up? 15-20mil would secure him, Wouldn't he be what we are looking for?

Harvey Keirle.

Ed is there any chance of Skrtel leaving this summer? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware of.}

05 Jun 2011 16:58:09
Ed why on earth would Valencia wait for Barcelona to show an interest, although you may suggest it would boost the price tag, why would they rather sell one of their best players to a rival team? And surely City's interest is enough to inflate his price already!
--------------------------------------------------
In what world are Barcelona Valencia's rivals? I'm pretty sure Barcelona have one rival in Real Madrid, and other than that it is Espanyol, as it a local derby, Mata is a young spanish player with huge potential, and would fit in perfectly with Barcelona's footballing phillosiphy, seems perfectly possible that Mata may join Barca

Much has and will be asked about what kind of winger would suit Liverpool as it is no secret that they not only need atleast one winger this Summer, but they are in the market for a wide player. There is much debate among the Liverpool faithful as to who is the man to provide width and most importantly, provide much needed service for Andy Carroll.

Ashley Young and Stewart Downing have been two regular names mentioned in the same sentence as Liverpool, and both cause much of a divide among the Anfield faithful. Many think Ashley Young's pace, skill and ability to grab goals is what Liverpool need, but personally I don't think he's the answer as he cuts in too much for my liking and I fail to see how this would solve a width problem, not to mention his inability to consistently cross with quality. Stewart Downing would be my preferred option of the two a conventional winger who gets chalk on his boots and can put in the type of crosses that Andy Carroll would put into the back of the net. He would provide balance in the team, he can score and he is a very tidy player. He can also play on the right and cut in which makes him a versatile player.

As much as I like Downing he wouldn't be my first-choice either. A name has popped up in recent weeks and it is a name which has excited Liverpool fans more than most. That man is Juan Mata. The very name mentioned in the same sentence as Liverpool excites the LFC fans and no wonder. First of all, Juan Mata would be a perfect fit on the left of Dalglish's 4-3-3 system and would surely shine under Dalglish's pass and move style of football. Secondly, he has all of the attributes required to become a top class winger. He has pace, he is creative, he is skillful, he loves to beat defenders, his finishing is impressive (he started his career as a striker), his movement is top drawer and he can certainly cross a ball. This is exactly the type of wide player Liverpool out to be looking for. It is worth mentioning that he can cut in which means he isn't totally predictable.

Mata can also play in the hole behind the striker and on the right and this versatility means he'd be perfect in Dalglish's system. We've seen front players such as Suarez, Kuyt and Maxi given the freedom to roam and interchange which has caused opposition defences so much trouble this season and proven to be an effective tool against top teams such as Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea and Mata would provide the missing link in Liverpool's attack and would surely build up a strong rapport with the likes of Kuyt, Suarez and Carroll. The freedom to interchange would cause defences so many problems and of all the wide players we've seen associated with Liverpool Mata would be the perfect option.

One of the most important things about Mata and something rarely mentioned about him, or any footballer for that matter, is that he isn't motovated or swayed by money. In previous years he has turned down big money transfers to the likes of Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona as he got no assurances of playing regular first-team football, even though he also likely got offered a very chunky salary. It is also worth noting that he is argueably the best player in the Valencia squad, yet far from the highest paid player. Many people admire his attitude and admire that he is motovated by playing and not my money. What more could a manager want in any player.

This is a possible deal for Liverpool, with Valencia's financial troubles and willingness to sell, Mata is a very realistic and attainable option. Spanish journalists have suggest he'd be available for 18-22m (£16-19.5m) and considering this may be the going rate for inferior players such as Young and Downing, Liverpool would be crazy not to opt for the Spaniard. Reports have suggested that Liverpool may miss out on Young to fierce rivals Man Utd, and Stewart Downing as Aston Villa are reluctant to sell, but with a talented Spaniard potentially on the books, trust me it doesn't Mata!!!
WHAT DO YOU THINK ED? {Ed002's Note - My views on Mata are well known. There is a chance.}

I have heard from a reliable source that LFC have agreed about 6-10 mil for Jordan Henderson with Sunderland and it should be announced soon.
Juan Mata has also agreed and it should be announced on the 1st of July.
Charlie Adam is also very close and it should be completed because both Liverpool and Adam wan the move.
Finally A.Young still has to decide money or playing time(manu or lfc)

remember this post i promise you this is true.

eds what do u think about bendtner from arsenal as our backup striker {Ed002's Note - To me I have no opinion - it just appears to be another random name pulled out of the hat I am afraid.}

05 Jun 2011 16:43:54
This is not a rumour, but just my take on the summer transfers, from what i feel and what i've read in the papers and what the ed's have said and the noise's coming out of Anfiled reguarding the new policies of signing younger players.
I feel the summer signings will be something like this Enrique, Henderson, Marveaux, Downing, Jones, Wickham. Possibly a back up keeper aswell? Not the sort of players that are going to make the club win the league but, players who will inprove the squad, in the push to get champions league football back.
I would be fairly happy with these players but not over the moon. If Liverpool could get these players plus one big overseas player such as Mata, Turan, Hazzard, Augreo etc then i would be happy but i feel Liverpool won't be able to attact this sort of player or afford them.

05 Jun 2011 16:37:47
Ed why on earth would Valencia wait for Barcelona to show an interest, although you may suggest it would boost the price tag, why would they rather sell one of their best players to a rival team? And surely City's interest is enough to inflate his price already!

{Ed002's Note - Players being transferred between Spanish clubs is very much the norm and Valencia and Barcelona have an excellent relationship. Villa is an example of recent business. As for Manchester City, their offer did not match Valencia's existing expectations so the price is hardly being inflated.}

05 Jun 2011 16:34:32
Hey ed's I posted a while back about us being interested in Clichy and arsenal wanting Leighton Baines to replace him anyway a mate of mine(my source) believes that the Clichy deal is all but done and along with Downing he failed to mention a price.Have any u ed's heard anything regarding downing or clichy?
The 96 YNWA! {Ed002's Note - Downing rumours persist but I am not totally convined - and Liverpool have bid for Enrique making a move for Clichy less likely. For me, Clichy to Roma and Menz to Arsenal seems a good possibility.}

05 Jun 2011 16:32:27
Ed002, just to confirm it is only a rumour :) It is what the site is supposed to be about I think!? Just banter, can't really see it happening, would love it to mind.

LFCLAD {Ed002's Note - The trouble is that many, many, many people cannot distinguish between a viable rumour and pure fantasy. You and I both know that Kaka is never going to be needed after Ganso was brought to Melwood for his medical this morning in a carriage drawn by two unicorns. So we have to ensure we do not get peoples folks up.}

Eds

with the Gervinho rumours having gone quiet is it "official" that liverpool have confimed an interest in Monacos benjamin moukandjo. (only 22 and values in the couple million bracket) as third striker.
His market value is progressing upwards over the kast 3 years> Euro papers are statinh he is flattered to be "linked" with us.

Hi Ed,
Do you know if we have bid yet for Mata, as you know City have?
Also, have City spoken to Mata representatives yet?
Thanks,
Burnsy {Ed002's Note - I really don't know if a bid has been made, I think probably not. I don't know if Manchester City spoke to the player's father or not. As I have said, In order to get the best deal, Valencia may want to wait (a) to see if Barcelona show an interest; (b) until after the Under 21 Championships where he could well put in a very good performance.}

i just wanna say to the eds big ups but also very clever for copying certain replies such as the turan and us not following up rumour and aguero and being out of the loop... Good stuff ;) Serious question tho, who do you see liverpool following up interest in for centre mid, McCarthy, Adam or henderson , because clearly we have shown interest in all three but we won't go in for more than 2. Just for info lads, no deals are close to being finalised or negotiations underway, and this will stay the case all through next week as well. I work for Nobles Construction in Liverpool (We have the contracts for any works on Melwood/The Academy & Anfield) and have been working at Melwood for the past 2 days and will be next week. We are turning The Executive Dining Room into Comolli's personal office space.
I am told that he wont be in the office until next Sunday at the earliest as he is currently holidaying with his family.

Hi Ed's,

Question if I may; we've lots of rumours/speculation of players we've alledgedly made bids for but are any of you aware of any bids/firm interest in some of the players we have at the moment that we would be willing to sell?

Thanks

05 Jun 2011 13:40:26
Nzogbia is actually classed as homegrown if I've done my math correctly, and we could have far worse a shout than a consistently performing winger from the PL, a lefty at that. It does some Kenny is rather fond of the lefties though! Carroll, Nzog, Mata, Downing, Marveaux.. (I know, DC's choice, but we won't sign anyone without KK signing off on it). Some left footed flair.. But we can't neglect the right footers for the right side either!

Perotti is a great bet. And if we truly are looking to expand our markets (which I find bollocks), Dempsey from Fulham will bring goals and striking and midfield cover and return with goals, and Park Chu Young, and certainly can't fault that lad's ambition for CL footy despite relegation. Have a look any number of these hulking midfield types coming out of Africa, super talented athletes and a lot of em have great footballing brains to boot. Unearth our own Essien? I dunno, I'm tired. Someone bring me coffee.

On '17 May 2011 23:55:04', I stated had been invited into Kevin Nolan's house that is still getting done up in Aigburth, Barkhill Road, as I live a couple of doors down. I also stated that is Brotherfriend Andy Carroll was also there and me and my dad managed to get some transfer info off him. That was Pepe staying(he has!), Aly Cisshoko(although expensive, more and more transfer news about him every day!), and also Adam Johnson(all over the transfer news today linking him to us!)
Although I got a couple of beleivers, most were unbeleivers.
I just wanted to show that I was not lying and I will try and get more news next time I get invited, probably in the summer, if Andy is there.
Thanks, AigburthEagle

I'm away on vacation in Asia(Nepal). I ringed my lad in town today who is pretty reliable and has sources in and out of the club. I feel sad to tell but Adam Johnson is definately not leaving city trust me on this one. Intrest in Mata is thin. The only likely deal is phil jones if we push hard for it. McCarthy and henderson looks good though. Even though we are pushing for Henderson, Mccarthy looks more likely. Even the marvuex deal which was done and dusted when i was in the country is on hold. Very intense summer its going to be.

To the chap who said we have signed Croation International Miralem Pjanic - there were rumours back in April that we were set to offer the Lyon midfielder a 4 yr deal as DC has long been an admirer. However there has also been interest from at least 1 german team but the player is said to prefer a move to the EPL. He also has 2 yrs left on his contract at Lyon

05 Jun 2011 13:18:34
Personally letting joe cole go is a great idea.....we've spent near on 4million on Joe Cole(Just his wages this year) so getting 3 million wouldnt be too bad, nearly covering our cost....Keane doesnt fit the FSG bill for new players....he isnt young and does not have a strong resale value, if any...just my thoughts...however heard in the news Chelski are willing to sell drogba to anyone with a realistic bid...Ed what do you think they want for him, bcos he could be the perfect 3rd Striker, even tho he doesnt fit the FSG bill, but surely they could see past it as Drogba is a prolific striker, maybe one of the best in the world {Ed002's Note - Chelsea will sell Drogba if he wants to leave and if he does I don't imagine for one minute he will be moving to Liverpool. As for Cole, if the transfer fee is £3M I suspect at least half will need to be passed on to the player. The same will be true with Jovanovic.}

05 Jun 2011 13:09:41
Lets be honest here, all these players we are being linked with are of a good quality. But me as a life long liverpool fan would like to see King Kenny put a bid for Xabi Alonso. He is one of the best passers of the ball, fantastic technique. I'd love to see him back at the club

Hi ed,
How much was the turned down bid for Mata that Manchester city had do you know?
And do you think he is our most likely transfer target for a winger? If not who is?

Thanks, AigburthEagle {Ed002's Note - There are numerous targets being mentioned - it would be guess work to sugegst the most likely. I was told the rejected Manchester City bid for Mata was 20M euros.}

Great site.

Just read elsewhere that Honda is apparently happy to stay at CSKA as they are in the CL BUT if he was to move he would prefer to move to Spain-so unfortunately we can definitively put that to bed methinks ;-( I also note it has finally landed in the media today about us going for adam johnson. So the question I have for the Eds is do you really think we have a chance of getting him?Surely ManC will not sell to him to us, unfortunately!?

I was thinking the same thing as the earlier poster about the rumours about Perroti have gone quiet, or should i pc he/she reminded me of his name not being mentioned recently.Do you think its because of the current things happening at the club like Cole going and the Henderson, Jones and N'Zogbia goings on.Suppose Commoli can be every where.Surely its because we want to get the Epl players sorted out and then go back for players like Perroti and Vargas.Cant belive we wouldn't go back to those to with the massive difference they'd make to our team.Vargas 15mil Perotti 9 mil.Johnny Boy6

Spending close to 10mil on him seems a waste and a kick in the teeth to are other youngesters! Also the henderson link, what does that say to jon jo! What u's think? I also think its gonna be hard to offload joe cole, his wages, age and form are all against him plus his unwillness to drop down to a lesser team! Im hopin aly cissokho 12mil, mata18, nzogbia10mil, adam 8mil and dann 8mil come in! With dead wood leaving the net spend would be about 25-30mil!
Wats ur thoughts and who would u's like in?
Bel: for our own youngsters gettin a chance
unbel: for wickham, henderson

Manchester City will bid for Sergio Aguero. Carlos Tevez to Liverpool 28million? He will be respected here and would love that. Lets face it up in Manchester they dont respect nothing. Giggs proved it. Come to Liverpool Tevez!!! What are the chance of us getting Tevez If he wants out ed?

Daniel Hanwell {Ed002's Note - Tevez certainly wants out. He is a 0/10 on my list.}

ed? is there anymore rumors of turan because i was told he signed for a Madrid? {Ed002's Note - Arda Turan looks Atletico Madrid bound. Talks have been going on for a while and he will move this summer. Dortmund apparently, remain interested but Villarreal have dropped any interest that they had. Spurs have dipped their toe in the water over the player and I suspect Valencia are keeping a watchful eye on matters. I am surprised that Liverpool have not followed up the interest they previously had in the player.}

05 Jun 2011 12:23:22
Obviously LFC have been linked with over 100 players this summer but I bet we are going for quality players. Week in and week out we are linked with several players, all in the quest to divert other clubs attention to our main targets. Expect Liverpool FC to sign the following players:

Charlie Adam, Ashley Young, Emilio Izaguirre and Charles N'zogbia

and out will be Ngog, Joe Cole, Jovanovic, Poulsen and Aurelio.

Young players from the academy will be given first team chance and also use them as a back up for the first team players.

I watched the USA vs Spain game yesterday and anyone who says Xabi is too old needs to stop playing fifa or which ever game it is and actually watch some football, i'm not saying he will come back or that i've found some suitcase belonging Damien Comolli saying the transfers done (mainly because i'm not insane) but i would be over the moon if he came back.

The ed's must dread the morning papers, as soon as someone is linked i.e Henderson, McCarthy or Aguero. Everyone goes nuts, i doubt Henderson will come unless Man U have lost interest, plus i think the story has been hugely over hyped, i would like to see McCarthy come but do we really need another cm. And as for Aguero, every bloody transfer window its the same old rubbish, i'm happy with Suarez i assumed everyone else was too.

Even with all the many many players linked with us the best two stories so far are, Ngog and Poulsen to Stoke if Tony Pulis is mad enough to want either we should take any offer. And the other, Del Boy wants to sign Joe Cole i hope thats our first bit of business in the transfer window, sounds like he wants to add to his collection of cm's.

Reports this morning suggest that Manchester City are so happy with how their purchase of David Silva went that they want to bring another diminutive Spanish playmaker to the club, in the shape of the aforementioned Mata.
I hope we get him {Ed002's Note - They have already had a bid turned down so this is hardly new news.}

05 Jun 2011 12:15:50
I've been told Downing is signing before the 15th. Some say as early as Wednesday but take that with a pinch of salt. I also believe Juan Mata deal is trying to be tied up as soon as possible, DC apparently out there today.

Man City want to off load players before they start spending. City are finding it hard to lure players to City because they have such a depth of players. Their top target A.Sanchez is looking very likely to got to the Catalans (Barca). This has meant they are looking at our target Mata. Although we are in the driving seat Silva may try and lure him although I believe Reina has got him in the bag. {Ed002's Note - Manchester City have already had a bid turned down for Mata.}

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis are chasing Liverpool midfielder Christian Poulsen.

The Sentinel says Pulis is convinced the big clubs will be busy in the transfer market this summer, and that could leave Stoke in with a shout of a clutch of players like Poulsen at Liverpool and his French team-mate David Ngog.

Saw this on tribalfootball

Ed is there any truth in this? I'd piggyback them to Stoke from where I live in Singapore. I refuse to believe stoke are that stupid

Poulsen has figured just six times since Kenny Dalglish took charge at Liverpool in January and would arrive at the Britannia with a point to prove.

Pulis will also have done his homework on Poulsen via his Danish compatriot Thomas Sorensen.

If lfc do sign henderson he will get four times his salary at Sunderland.

Good day Eds,
Would it be possible for Liverpool to make a shock move for Luka Modric. He has been linked with Man U recently and, with Joe Cole looking likely to arrive at Spurs, could mean they might sell.
I have thought of this as KK seems to be a big admirer of the crafty Croatian giving him player of the season in his column in the Daily Mail - where he has singled him out before as a player he likes.
Is this possible ED or am I putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5??
Thanks
Glov3z the Red {Ed002's Note - I think it most doubtful.}

Why do people keep talking maxi as a back up winger?? His wages are far to high to use him as a back up. I know we are looking to strengthen our cm but with gerrard coming back it will be like a new signing. I'm still not sure went we are looking at cb with ayla coming back off loan I think he'll break through this year.

ED ... Why are some fans saying "Mata is going to be unveiled as a Liverpool player July 1st" ?

Is it already agreed? :S or just a load of borrocks? I'd personally Welcome him to Anfield, Great player !! Ynwa {Ed002's Note - Perhaps wishful thinking at the moment. However, we know there has been interest and we know there is a chance - but we are seeing a lot of rumours about other left wingers such as N'Zogbia which, if true, must call Mata in to question.}

Liverpool bid £8.25m for Jose Enrique last night and are expecting a decision on the offer by the end of the day.

They have also began talking to Jerome Sinclair of West Brom, a 14 year old starlet about coming to the Anfield Academy. A compensation package will have to be agreed afterwards though.

Not much has changed otherwise, we are lining up targets and deciding on which ones are the most viable. I do know that there is 6 scouts going to the U21 tournement plus Damien Comolli will also be travelling to some games to watch players and possibly the King.

The deal looking most likely for Jordan Henderson is £12m up front with £6m add ons for Premier League appearances and goals. The deal for Connor Wickham is looking at £5m up front with £5m - £7m of add ons. There hasn't been any other offers for any other players, only official enquiries for Phil Jones, Emilio Izaguirre and Ashley Young. Quotes for those players I believe was £17.5m, £23m and £7m. Obviously those are their clubs' valuations and will never sell for those prices.

The new arrivals I expect to see at Liverpool are: Henderson, Wickham, Enrique, Jones, Marveaux and N'Zogbia.

Christian Poulsen:

"To come to Liverpool and to play at Anfield has been really good for me, but I hope I still have bigger moments to come in the future that I will be able to talk about at the end of next season.

"I hope I can get closer to the starting XI. I have been training hard at Melwood to try and get back into the team and that is my aim for the future."

Oh no! the money sukcing grandpa Blondie wants to stay!
That would be a nightmare, for many LFC fans.

What do you think ED? By the sounds of it he seems kenn on staying with us! With no interested parties still now, Do you think that LFC would keep him ? or Do you think LFC will terminate his contract? {Ed002's Note - I suspect that the club will be looking to sell him or to let him go on a free transfer. Terminating his contract would be a last resort as the cost will be significant.}

ed with all the average lb we have been linked with lately with inflated prices, why dont we just go all out and offer everton 15m for baines and if they say no go to lyon and offer 17-20m for cissokho. I no its a lot of money for a lb but when you consider we will be getting (cissokho) one of the best lb in the world.

as for henderson i dont think we should be offering anymore than what we have done as he is not worth the prices being quoted. i no they are two different players but just compare the prices

SISSOKO-14-16M
HENDERSON-16-20M

i no who i want

SUMMER INS

CISSOKHO/BAINES15-20M
SAKHO/RICHARDS-16-20M
MATUIDI-10M
PARK CHU YUNG(monaco)(sp)-5M
MATA-22M
YOUNG/JOHNSON-14-20M
MARVAUX-FREE

i feel we really need a cb who is going to be dominant in the air as if you look at scum/chavs they both have cbs who score goals from set pieces {Ed002's Note - There has certainly been talk amongst the fans of a move for Baines and any suggestion of players not moving between club seems well wide of the mark. As such it seems viable if (a) Liverpool want the player; (b) Everton want to sell; (c) a fee can be agreed; (d) Baines wants to make the move. Although there appear to be defensive frailties mentioned, going forward he would give a lot to the team. As for Aly Cissokho, I fear he is not going to be an option.}

Ed, is there any interest in Ryad Boudebouz or Adel Taarbt? Would love to see both at LFC! {Ed002's Note - Boudebouz plays for Sochaux. St-Etienne want the player to replace Dmitri Payet and Marseille are showing strong interest. There is also some interest from Lyon and Newcastle. Any interest listed from Spurs and Liverpool is likely from last year and perhaps exagerated at this time in an effort being made to beef up his price.

If Taarabt leaves QPR over the summer I suspect it will be to sunnier climes probably taking the likes of Liverpool and Dortmund out of the equation. There has been interest from Italy, notably from Napoli, and I suspect he will head for the Mediterranean. I think Malaga will be in with a significant shout for him.}

for all the people saying we r gonna get the likes of ali cisokko, benzema, higuian its not gonna happen for one simple reason: champions leauge football. these players wont want to drop down, and if they did move they would move to a team europe. we should get players like
phil jones, *
jordan henderson, *
marveraux, *
scott dann, *
charlie adam,
bobby zamora?????
charles nzogbia*
matt jarvis

they players with * are the ones I"d personally like to see at LFC.
do you agree ed? {Ed002's Note - Sorry, but no. It is not simply a case of not having Champions League football. Any transfer requires the selling club to want to let the player go and the player to want to make the move. It is over simplifying matters to simply suggest that Higuain, Benzema et al are not moving to Liverpool because of the Champions League.}

05 Jun 2011 08:54:25
hi ed do you think we can get diego and if so for how much?? {Ed002's Note - Sporting Lisbon, Galatasaray, Botofogo, Lazio and others will need to be beaten to his signature if Liverpool are going to get Diego. Whilst there is clear interest I don't know if Liverpool are any any sort of talks with the player himself - who is in Brazil. As an aside, I would question whether Liverpool should take a risk on a player who was thrown out of Juventus after a year (Juve taking a £10M loss on the transfer) and who has since walked out on Wolfsburg three times this year? I appreciate the situation at Wolfsburg is dire under Magath and the new regime. It would be high risk and I am not sure where he would fit in unless a central midfield player is leaving. Certainly Wolfsburg have found a replacement to target in the form of Niko Kranjcar.}

05 Jun 2011 08:26:30
Morning Ed's, I would like to ask you something.

Earlier you mentioned that Lyon are very difficult to deal with for English teams. What I don't understand is, yes obviously first the players agent will informally be asked if there player would welcome a move, but then the next move is to approach the club and see if the player is for sale and how much they want. Surely if we were keen on Cissokho this would have been done long ago? We would then know they would want ridiculous money and have moved on or made an offer (like Enrique).

To me it seems that we are only seriously after Enrique (who I do not think is good enough) and he will end up coming after Comolli has haggled on the price for ages.

I dont think any of the other LB targets were ever serious. Do you agree?

Fensh

{Ed002's Note - You are correct about my saying that Lyon are difficult to deal with and will always look for a premium when dealing with English clubs. Where I think you are perhaps incorrect is Liverpool enquiring about Aly Cissokho - who, in any case, will probably not be leaving Lyon this summer unless a high fee is paid. I really don't know of any interest from Liverpool in the player.

Aside from Enrique, who Liverpool bid in the region of £4M for, there has been mention of other left backs (Izaguirre for example) and wing backs (Vargas who for me would be a great buy) who we know the club have enquired about. Criscito, Taiwo and Coentrao are other much less likely names that have come up as well. N'Zogbia was one of the 8 or 10 players that were listed as "deal done" yesterday, and he has spent a lot of his career playing at left back. Baines has been mentioned, although I am not sure how seriously, and how can Aurelio and Insua be discounted in addition to the other left backs already on Liverpool's books.

So, if Liverpool go back for Enrique with another bid, you will know that the club have him as a serious target. I have no feeling whether or not this will happen of course.}

05 Jun 2011 08:25:23
With regards to Aguerro, the situation is this - Athletico want £39m, thats not a problem for LFC, but the player wants to go to R.Madrid, however to sell to their arch rivals Athletico would add a tax, taking the required fee up to somewhere around £70m.
It all depends on whether the two Madrid clubs can be civil and agree a fee, if not LFC & Chelsea have the best chance.
Another move definetely on is Joe Cole to Spurs @£3m, Poulsen is unlikely to go Stoke as he would have to half his wages.
LFC & Tranmere still have a 'parent' club agreement in place, Tranmere want Jack Robinson on loan, possibly Connor Coady too, and Liverpool have watched Dale Jennings several times.

05 Jun 2011 08:24:55
Jordan henderson will NOT be sold for less than 20 million even then do you really think Nial Quinn will sell one of sunderlands and englands future stars just because your new owners are flashing cash around. We have a billionaire owner and do not need the money. Henderson will be concentrating on the engalnd U21 championship and then will return for pre season with sunderland.

I work for a big media organisation and a guy who usually picks up some good stuff has told me that Liverpool are prepared to offer Daniel Agger plus cash for Karim Benzema.

I think Mourinho enquired about Agger while he was at Inter and Real have monitored him for years. If the balance in Real's favour is c.£10m that's cash towards top target Llorente and cover at CB into the bargain. We get top striker who's guaranteed goals and cash in on injury-prone player freeing up a space for Phil Jones ???

I can see the logic....

During the Jan transfer window, we were linked with Negrado on and off until it became clear we were going to sign Suarez.I rate him highly and he scored 20 goals in La Liga for Sevilla, as many as Rossi got for Villareal who's about to be bought by Barcelona for 35mil.By the way well done SAF for selling Rossi and Pique for Pea Nuts and being worth 60-70mil between em, mug.Back to Negrado, i think he'd be a great 3rd striker, very good in the air, great left foot, more then decent right foot and could probably get him for 15mil.I'm all for buying young and not so young English talent but if we really want competition for places we need a third striker who could get into the team and not weaken it, competition for places and all that not someone who sees himself as back up like N'Gog has known all season.We're going after too many youngsters who've got potential an payin top wack or quoted top wack prices for em.Cattermole just makes me sick thinking about him playing for us and he'd cost at least 10mil maybe more, and if Joey Barton got upto the antics that Cattermole does on the pitch he'd be in tower of London by now, well maybe not, Walton Jail more likely.Anyway we've got our own youngsters coming thorough and we need some experience.Any chance of Negrado and was he being looked at seriously in the Jan window. Jonny Boy6 {Ed002's Note - No, I think it very unlikely that Negredo will be making the move as a third choice striker.}

Also you could say that about any player that is signed from outside the prem, ie suarez, people could have said, dont sign him as he's not proven in the prem. {Ed013's note - but I mean he played in the prem before and did not prove himself suarez had not played in the prem before}

Cheers again for reply mate, i see what you mean, but i mean that, as you say he's not proven in the prem, it sort of makes me think that no player should be signed unless they are a top prem striker. But i do understand where your coming from in the face that he wasnt great when he did play. Also what players are bieng linked for the 3rd striker role, or do you think they will use Kuyt and keep Pacheco also? cheers mate, thanks for the responses. {Ed002's Note - Kuyt will be used but I suspect Pacheco will leave.}

Hey Eds, is there any truth at all in the Andy Carroll not being happy and wanting to leave rumours some people are posting on these forums? I really hope not. Please answer and post in rumours. Thanks. {Ed001's Note - he has barely even moved in to the area yet, he is certainly not looking to leave.}

Hi eds, do you think Jo from city would be an option for a 3rd striker? was brilliant for CSKA. He never plays at city and they will probably sell him in the summer. He is also still only 24. What do you think Eds? Cheers (please post in rumours) {Ed013's Note - No he has not proved himself in the prem with man city}
