Ed's what do you think about Marko Arnautovic from Werder Bremen ? {Ed005's Note - The Austrian? I think he lacks to make it at the top level - he's comfortable where he is in my opinion.}

I'm from Austria and follow him a little bit.
Believe me he's a complete IDIOT!
Don't need him..

Ed u said B.R was looking at scurrell if we did sign him is there a chance we can get boudebouz aswell {Ed005's Note - If we're interested in Boudebouz there is a very good chance of him coming here.}

Sorry who's scurrel? have I missed something?

Sorry ed is there a chance of schurrel an boudebouz {Ed005's Note - Schurrel? I'm afraid I don't know who that is mate - who does he play for?}

Andre schurrle

Hi eds

I work for Thomas cook and I have been on training in Spain for the last two weeks I have heard from a few papers here and one sport radio host that lfc have enquired about soldado fairly recently. Is this true??

Cheers

Rebecca

{Ed006's Note - I have no idea but I hope so!}

Alonso to Liverpool next season12/13

Oh sound, someone had to get the yearly Alonso rumour out the way!

Why would he leave possibly the best squad in te world where he is a key member of the squad? daft daft daft

On loan

05 Jun 2012 23:24:44
can you please answer me this?

how strong is our interest in Boudebouz ?

thanks

Not quite strong at the moment but i'm sure we can get that boy

Proper hard

Judging by Ed022s review on profiles page, he seems a little bit average

05 Jun 2012 22:44:49
johnson,sigurdsson, de jong,powell,ramiarez

What about them? anyone can just start naming names.

Every LFC fan can wish mate ,although i do see Sigurdsson and maybe Adam Johnson coming in YNWA , IBRWT, JFT96

A.Johnson and Siggurdson look very likely

Lol ppl get so lazy up to a point where there is no need for any point, just names.

Kaizer

hi eds, heard a lot of talk about this boudabouz, is he not just another ryan babel? not seen much of him but thats just a feeling i have, correct me if he's just another class. cheers, mike {Ed022's Note - www.player-profiles.co.uk - there is a profile on Boudebouz.}

05 Jun 2012 21:31:31
Hi ed's first I would just like to say what a wonderful job your doing. My question is: are we going to bid for any wingers. I believe that we need wingers for the service for Andy Carroll. If so, what wingers would we possibly buy {Ed001's Note - Boudebouz looks the likeliest.}

I really hope not as i havent been too impressed by boudebouz this year

The ol' catch 22 - we need wingers to provide service to Carroll, but that style of play contrasts with the fast-pass n move Rogers got his rep from... dont think we have the budget to have both!

He can also play a bit deeper in the RM role along side a LM and in front of a DM
in a 433

Sigurdsson Doesn't Expect To Stay At Swansea City

Gylfi Sigurdsson has told Icelandic newspaper Morgunblaðið that he does not expect to stay at Swansea City next season.

The 22 year-old midfielder says he would have liked to continue his career at the Liberty Stadium as he enjoyed it, but admits he's unsure where his future lies due to Brendan Rodgers' move to Liverpool. He also says a move to Swansea City is unlikely now due to him not knowing who the manager will be, as they still seek a replacement for the Irishman.

Sigurdsson said:

''It's just unclear at this moment where I come to a play. I'd like to play on with Swansea since I was really happy there, but after Brendan Rodgers left the club for Liverpool changed the situation for it,''

He also says he'd consider a move to Liverpool but he hasn't talked to Rodgers about a move to Anfield.

''I have said that my desire to continue playing in the Premier League and Liverpool is completely considered. Liverpool is a big club that has a glorious history. English Premier League is the platform that I want to be and hopefully is that I continue to play in that division.

I expect not to stay at Swansea as the uncertainty going on there and not clear who is boss,''

In response to a question asking if he had talks with Rodgers about joining him at Liverpool, Sigurdsson added:

''No, but I got in touch with him when he was appointed Liverpool manager. I wish him congratulations and thanked him for a great time at Swansea,''.

Why does everyone copy and paste stuff of other sites

I dont know, but its annoying, Why does everyone copy and paste stuff of other sites

lol

What's the situation with Bojan and Dos Santos Ed's? {Ed001's Note - what situation?}

Are they goin out properly or just foolin about?

TAYPOT

They went out to the shops together and locked their keys in the car, should be on skysports any min now

05 Jun 2012 21:19:05
Ed's what is the go with Juventus thinking they can rinse us for players for dog money? 16m Euros for Suarez when we paid 25M Euros? Aquilani the other summer? Should we not just tell them to do one and say we will not even pick up the phone? {Ed001's Note - I very much doubt they would waste their time with a 16m offer.}

The bid were apparently 16m + Krasic and Elia..

05 Jun 2012 21:12:31
ED,I don't think we are currently interested in javi Martinez and munian however I can't rate both of them high enough.
For me munian will grow into an intiesta,I see the same quailities and in Martinez,well I think this kid is the definition of class'
I believe its the amount of money their clubs would demand for them thats cooling our noses. Ed? {Ed002's Note - I would not expect either to be at Anfield next season. I could see Martinez playing for Manchester City.}

Munian has to be a possibility

Marvin Martin has attracted the attention of many European clubs including Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool.

With an £8 million price tag accroding to The Metro and wage demands of only £60,000 a week, there is no surprise as to why he has been a target for many Premier League clubs.

He's going to Lille.

Cheerio

Hes agreed to join lille

Ain't gonna happen. He just joined Lille. JackD

He would actually be perfect if you think about it. he posseses similar qualities to ramirez for over half the costs and probably sugnificantley smaller wages also if we could bundle boudebouz with him it would ideal

Sigurdsson scores for the Iceland U-21s tonight! Hope we get him, looks like a great prospect, possible replacement for Stevie.
Some bookies have Agger to Barca at 6/4? Hopefully its not true, one of the best ball playing centre halfs in the country!

Agree, Agger is mint and perfect for Rodgers.

Actually, it was not Gylfi who scored tonight but Bjorn Bergmann Sigurdarson, one of the most promising strikers in Scandinavia at the moment. Gylfi is not playing for the U21s, but still hope we get him though!

My mistake, B.B. Sigurdarson scores for Iceland tonight, livescore originally posted that it was G. Sigurdsson!

Gylfi sigurdsson is 23 so why would he be playing for Iceland U21s , Sigurdsson has clearly stated that he wants to play under brendan rodgers

I thought Barca were after the Lyon CB.

I really hope that agger stays. He is a brilliant player. If he and skrtel stay injury free next season we will be great at the back. I'd still keep carragher though for the record.
the wise one

Maybe you should ask why Milner played for the England U-21s in 2009 when he was 23!

This team is for English players aged under 21 at the start of the calendar year in which a two-year European Under-21 Football Championship campaign begins, so some players can remain with the squad until the age of 23. As long as they are eligible

05 Jun 2012 20:44:55
A lot of people on this site have been speculating about Gylfi Sigurdsson's next destination and some have even maintained that he would never move to Liverpool because he is a lifelong Man Utd fan.

Well, despite being a Man Utd fan, Gylfi is a great lad and a role model professional and when interviewed by Icelandic newspaper Morgunbladid this afternoon, he had this to say:

"At this point, it is simply undecided where I'll end up. I had intended to stay put at Swansea, as I was really happy there, but after Brendan Rodgers left for Liverpool the situation has changed. I have stated that my preference is to stay in the Premier League and Liverpool is certainly an option. Liverpool is a big club with a great history. The Premier League is where I want to be and hopefully I'll continue to play in that league. I don't expect to stay at Swansea, as it is not yet clear who will be manager."

When asked about whether he had discussed a possible move to Liverpool with BR, he responded:

"No, but I contacted him when he has appointed Liverpool manager, congratulated him on the appointment and thanked him for our great time together at Swansea."

There you have it!

How do you know for defo he supports the mancs has he stated this himself?

Exactly! , care to share how you know he is a Man Utd fan ?

He has stated in the past that he is a ManU fan.The chairman of the Liverpool fan club in Iceland even joked about it yesterday and the possibility of him becoming a Liverpool player is driving alot of manu fans in Iceland nuts.Many players have gone to rival clubs that was not their favourite club growing up.You take your chance when it comes along.Gudjohnsen used to be Liverpool fan if I remember correctly untill chelsea came knocking now he says he supports them. Does it really matter? BR seems to get the best out of him both at Reading and Swansea and if he joins Liverpool and continues to perform who cares who he used to support growing up.I know this because I'm from Iceland and it's a really small country and no secret who supports who there, players with potential always get asked what their favourite club is.As long as Liverpool are thinking of signing Icelandic players they should sign imo Kolbeinn Sigtharsson the Ajax forward he just came back from injury but has come back strong. Iv'e seen this kid make big leaps over the years, if you feed him the ball he will score.

Liverpool will indeed bid for G Sigurdsson and he will be a Liverpool player next season. He had stalled the Swansea deal in the hope of Rodgers coming for him at his new club and now it seems LFC are definitely keen on signing him. Good player, goal scoring midfielder and look forward to seeing him in red.

AlonsoLover

Brendan rogers got more faces than the town clock. the swans have been playing great football since martinez started it brendan added a LITTLE bit extra .

05 Jun 2012 20:37:41
New Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is adamant that star player Luis Suarez will not be sold this summer, after reports suggested that Juventus were preparing a bid for the Uruguayan forward. Rodgers has spoken with Luis to gain his confidence and explain the new project and his role in the team. Luis is calm about everything.

I would imagine that if a big enough offer came in (£25m+), the board would let him go no bother. It would be a shame though as he is one of the most gifted players around at today. Hopefully he stays though!YNWA

This was in the Scum ''lack of news'' paper.

I hope Suarez stays and i've typed out why i think FSG would be highly wrong from an ethical and moral stand point after Suarez helped Liverpool lift a cup, since the Evra debarcle.

But the sun newspaper!? Com'on no one believes them, especially not when it concerns Liverpool Football Club.

05 Jun 2012 20:36:06
{Ed022's note - Brand new player profile on Andre Schurrle of Bayer Leverkusen. Certainly a player to watch our for at Euro 2012, and has been linked with Liverpool prior to Rodgers' appointment. Cheers all.}

Now thats someone i would love to see at LFC next season

Sorry haven't been on this site in a while where do you see player profiles? {Ed002's Note - www.player-profiles.co.uk }

This kid is quality! I know YouTube videos only select the best clips but just from them you can how good he is and can be & I'd never have heard of him unless for football manager

Looks good only young aswell

The lad looks like a top top thinking finisher , the type that would score is fair share or more every season , and not in this 30-40 million price range some of our supporters believe we should be in.

05 Jun 2012 20:24:41
Rumours saying Rasmus Elm's older brother Viktor has signed for AZ, could mean that Rasmus is staying to play with him

05 Jun 2012 20:22:57
Gylfi Sigurdsson has said he is open for a move to Liverpool. He says he has not spoken to Rodgers since he called him to congratulate him on his new job at Liverpool and thanking him for his time at Swansea.

Ed(s) is there actually any interest in cavani or lavezzi? If so, what do you think chances are on us signing any of them + any one got any info on the dagger or fellaini rumours, cheers

Sponge Bob
{Ed005's Note - I think Lavezzi has all but or even signed for PSG. I'm sure we'd be lurking in the wings if Cavani became available but unlikely we would sign him mate. It would be brilliant. I would say we could look to Soldado - he's not going to the Euros which helps.}

There is simply no chance of Cavani joining LFC. I wish people would stop going on about lavezzi and cavani. We have no champs league football to offer and our squad is very poor

Love it too happen but we dont have champions league football

Why is Soldado left out Ed?
And is he quite injury prone? {Ed002's Note - Soldado is out because only one of him or Torres would go.}

Eds do you think Soldado would be interested in joining us?
Josh {Ed022's Note - Yes.}

Eds, do you believe Soldado is being lined up to replace Suarez?

Thanks

Ollieston {Ed005's Note - I believe he will be considered at some point mate regardless of whether Suarez leaves or stays.}

Prefer Soldado , the hype does not surround him as much and the boy can score. if carrol stays I reckon B.R could do some great things with him.

05 Jun 2012 20:20:42
Think we'll sign Jovetic, lots of rumours going around that he wants to go to the Premier League, and we have been linked with him for some time now so maybe we could have a chance. But with other Prem teams also interested in him, he might end up in Arsenal or Man U because they are in the CL.
I also think we might could get Dempsey, he's also a player we have been linked with before, and I think he'll suit Liverpool really well.
Then I also think we could get Gylfi because he knows Rodgers, and maybe wanna go to a bigger club than Swansea.

Mate just admit that you really dont have a clue what you are talking about..

29 year old Dempsey? I doubt it.

05 Jun 2012 20:18:25
hey macca whats this about the qatar royal family bidding for some liverpool shares

Atleast we would win trophies if true...

Yeah we would win trophies, not that we haven't already last season...

Is this the same bulls**t that was circulating last season or is this fresh . Cheers psv

Can anyone find a link to this rumour please?

05 Jun 2012 20:16:18
ed's just a quick think on johnson, i saw the reasons why he should be sold, however is this just a personal opinion or are the club actively looking to sell him? cheers
JAYLFC {Ed005's Note - I don't think it will be a case of the club activly looking to sell him and offering him around the continent. But I think that he'll be on the market and the right offer would see us sell him. Provided we have provisions made to replace him.}

05 Jun 2012 20:15:10
heard a few rumours that the dubai are going to try and buy the club is this true.
Not sure whether I would be happy but i was just wondering if this was even true??
Eds?? {Ed005's Note - I've heard nothing mate - I don't even know where it originated.}

05 Jun 2012 20:02:04
Hi Eds, In relation to rumours about Adam Johnson(defo a good player with excellent skills) and Theo Walcott(poor player in my opinion) and any previous interest from the club, can't see the interest now given what Rodgers has said about wanting players who are good offensively but also are tactically aware that they also have to defend from the front. Neither of these players will contribute to this style of play {Ed005's Note - I think someone like Johnson could be brilliant under Rodgers. I think players being tactically aware will take time mate but it could eventually work.}

05 Jun 2012 20:06:12
Rodgers main targets will be powell,munian,clasie,solado and G.ramirez with aquilani and j.cole coming back qatar royal family are not buying the club they are bidding for some shares.

Perfect summer

So i guess he does know what he is doing, allen aswell

05 Jun 2012 19:55:41
Rodgers is going to offer around 6m for Powell of Crewe. He was already aware of his ability and I posted that this would happen around 6 weeks ago as the Club have always wanted to sign him.

Good, I hope we get him as he possess the same type of skills as Ronaldo.

Ozone

You aren't right yet!

This wont happen, he's coming from a league 1 team, we need a top four striker. He'd be playing in the reserves and i'd doubt he'd want that. Although, Rodger's claims to build young players so there is a slight chance

Any deal to sign him will include a loan spell back at Crewe. So it's win-win if we manage to get him, as regular 1st team football would be better for his development.

05 Jun 2012 19:52:29
Iker Muniain would be perfect for us. £15m-£25m?

{Ed006's Note - Probably double that valuation}

£30m-£50m, doubt it. {Ed005's Note - I think mid-late £20m would get him, £30m at far.}

05 Jun 2012 19:52:01
Ed, why do you think Johnson will be sold? And for how much, and possible replacements? {Ed005's Note - I think he will be sold because he is on a very high wage - and refuses to play anywhere but RB, and regularly if he's fit. There's a clause in his contract saying he has to play regularly. Why can't he just earn a place in the team? It is the wrong attitude in my opinion and I think we'll look no further than Van der Weil or even Isla to replace him.}

Van der weil wud b my choice top quality

Is that really true about refusing to play anywhere other than RB? Seems bizarre as a club we have put up with that, but guess it explains why he hasn't been tried at RW. Can't see we have a chance on VDW, expect him to have a cracking Euro's and all the top CL teams will be after him. Leffeman101 {Ed005's Note - I'd say we're in with a decent chance mate given that we could offer him regular first-team football. However if a Real Madrid or Chelsea came in for him it wouldn't happen. I'm hoping Real Madrid take Johnson which would maybe pave a path to get him.}

Do you really believe Van der Wiel is a possibility ed's? Would like to see him at LFC

JanBorman {Ed005's Note - Possibility mate for sure - especially if Johnson leaves.}

Thanks for the thoughts Ed. I'd love to think we could get VDW, reckon he's going to Chelsea sadly, but you never know. If we can sell Glen to Madrid I'd be amazed, but again fingers crossed. Cheers, Leffeman101

Johnson has played leftback numerous times for liverpool over the past 2 years and gone about the job with no complaints and done well there? biggest load of crap ive ever heard and can't believe the eds are still running with the idea he has to play rightback ??
glen johnson will be our rightback next season unless he wants to leave.
red23

@red23 I think that clause was put in his contract about a year back when he was renegotiating/extending his contract. Perhaps the ed's can confirm this? {Ed005's Note - Yep mate.}

Rodgers said Johnson is world class i doubt very much he will be sold.

But Johnson played in other positions only a few months ago.

Against Man City in the CC away he played left back and even centre back at one point.

He also played left back against Blackburn in March.

Sounds like utter rubbish to me.

Not sure he has ever refused to play anywhere but right back to be honest! He has played at left back plenty of times, and may I add played well there too

Thanks for a good, quick answer ed, i dont like Van der wiel personally, he had a good world cup though after some research i found that hes very injury prone and defensivley weak. Along with agger we will be playing half our defense AGAIN

ED 005, I'm not looking into your mentioning of Van der weil or Isla too much, but if you do think its true it simply is great news.

Van d Wiel is strongly linked to Chelsea

05 Jun 2012 19:45:16
Hi eds, any new news on any new signings?

{Ed006's Note - Tipically dry after a new manager has just been hired.}

Thanks for the reply, it's appreciated

C.Ross

Hi Ed006,So when do you think the signing's will kick off(Hard to call i no)...Best guess mate.

{Ed006's Note - Holy, this is putting me right on the spot. I would like to say soon but I couldnt say mate.}

Good enough Ed,cheer's...

05 Jun 2012 19:43:09
Hi ed what do you think are the chances of us gettin these players. Gylfi Sigurðsson,victor Moses,Adam Johnson and luke de Jong? I'd be very happy with these signings.

{Ed006's Note - Gylfi and Luuk maybe, Moses and Johnson highly unlikly.}

Moses is overrated, he is young so perhaps he can still improve on his end product though.
derryred

05 Jun 2012 19:34:41
Hi eds, What's happening with Joe Cole. Is it just he is not going to Lille or he is gonna stay at Liverpool next season. Our midfield is already crowded and I would much rather prefer Suso to get chances ahead of him. Is there any other clubs interested in him and might make a move at some point. QPR springs to mind with their previous interest and i think they can afford his ridiculous wages.

AJ

{Ed006's Note - Apparently the manager at Lille says that he is coming back here. "Joe Cole will stay at Liverpool, the new staff have decided to keep him. We will remember him very fondly as a player but also as a man." This is apparently a quote from him.}

I posted a couple of times about this. I met Joe a couple of days before the final league1 match on the eurotunnel to France. He told me his most likely and preferred destination was back to anfield. West Ham was mentioned but he seemed pretty set on a return. This was also the morning that KK left so he knew of the situation.

FatJanMolby

I would rather play hendo and give shelvey and sterling more gametime

Can we not just give him away? He's a one trick pony and every half-decent defender knows that trick. RED LENIN

05 Jun 2012 19:32:29
Hey guys! Just want to say how good this website is and how good a job you ed's are doin!
My question is it true that joe Allen has handed in a transfer request? Apparently if it is the 12 month deal doesn't apply. Would be great to see my first ever post uploaded!
Keep up the good work!

{Ed006's Note - I don't think Allen has handed in a transfer request but if he does I would love to sign him, he would be the 1 player at Swansea I would take. I am not sure about agreements and deals myself sorry.}

Do not agree Ed i think Henderson is better than him giv are lad a chance.

6 years time.. wouldn't mind seein r CM'S bein lucas,sigurdsson, henderson and allen!

Joe Allan is a class act. With the right guidance, better than Ramsey.

22 and if he had been English would have a cap or so now and be worth best part of 15million.

LFC would get him for say £6-8m ALOT better than Siggaurdson (spelling soz)

redphil

Wouldn't you take scott sinclair or nathan dyer that ed? {Ed022's Note - I personally wouldn't.}

05 Jun 2012 19:28:12
Liverpool have NO interest, i repeat NO interest in Adam Johnson. Put this rumour to bed, he will not be joining LFC

Finglas Red

I think its in there interest to be in for him. and i wont rule out a bid. you know as much as wat we all do

We ALL know

Sorry can't see owners ponying up 100k/wk for this guy who warms the bench at City.

Yes they do so be quiet and how would you know

05 Jun 2012 19:15:52
Is Luuk De Jong a likely target for Rodger's? Hes perfect for the line up

{Ed006's Note - Possibly.}

05 Jun 2012 19:15:17
hey eds do you know if we are looking at walcott, if so we should use him as a striker as he was at southampton, he was quality there until wenger tried to shape him into a winger use him in his natural position.

northern red.

{Ed006's Note - I cant see us going in for him.}

He is not going to be a target for Liverpool, because Rodgers is not a big advocate of the winger form of play.

Harry the Red

He misses so many 1 on 1's. you actually expect him to miss. besides we spent 35 million on carroll and have to stick with him. i think that a cheaper striker will join rather than the overpriced, overrated walcott

05 Jun 2012 19:12:30
Hi Ed sorry to bother you i asked before but it did not get posted...Did Dirk Kuyt put in a transfer request or did he just get sold? A few weeks back someone posted that a player put in a request and they thought it was Pepe so i just wondered if it was Kuyt

MJ {Ed005's Note - He got sold mate but I think he was unhappy as he wanted regular first-team football and I would imagine Rodgers never guaranteed him that.}

After the way he was treated by kenny, and kept on the bench by henderson.
who wouldnt leave given the chance

05 Jun 2012 19:04:17
edds
can you please tell me if its true that king kenny was looking at walcott? he is terrible, like so bad. please clear this up for me and i hope to god rodgers isnt ionterested.
weymouth red {Ed005's Note - I don't know mate but I personally hope not. I think he lacks end product on the wing.}

He probably was, he loved over rated english players

Finglas Red

05 Jun 2012 19:03:12
As I said previously, I think we will bid for saldado, whether he signs is another thing but I do believe we will pursue saldado and I think we have a good chance of snapping him'

Melbourne'

Soldado

05 Jun 2012 19:01:04
Hi I don't know if any of the ED's have heard the same as me but Rodgers has examined LFC contract situations and has become aware of a buy back clause with Emiliano Insua and is very keen to bring him back to the club, I have been told that Rodgers has had a conversation with Insua's agent and he would be open to the move back to Merseyside. I hope it happens as I have always been bermused at why we let him go. Thanks Henry

Cos he was s**t

You literally couldn't be more wrong, he was a great prospect over played far to much and was brilliant in the Europa league this year if you care to pull your head out your ass

No buy back clause for him, he was let go because he was exposed at the highest level eg against and average winger (Marco Marchionni) away at Fiorentina in CL

Finglas Red

What planet are you on mate he was pants..

Horrendous player. Clueless defender cost us so many goals

He started well, looked the part, then he got fat because he wouldn't stick to the diet regimes that the trainers had him on and was continually 'pigging-out' on fast foods. If he has matured then yes we should bring him back - he can pass, cross, tackle and when he's not fat has a blistering turn of speed. But ONLY if he has matured. If he's still prone to burger binges then sod him. RED LENIN

He was as bad as your post

To be fair, both him and Lucas were utterly s**t at that point. Who is to say that he won't improve considering he's still fairly young?

05 Jun 2012 18:15:04
hey ed, is it true we're interested in the swedish winger Molins? He's quick and can deliver a cross, just what Carroll needs! {Ed005's Note - No mate and I doubt under Rodgers we will build our team around Carroll, and getting the ball into Carroll from wide areas.}

Build a team around carroll! are yous on drugs? sell him at the earliest opportunity, he's crap

If you read what the Ed said, he means we won't be building the team around Carroll.

TSP

So Ed what do you think BR has in store for the big man?Hope he's not sold.

Hi eds, ino sigurdsson has been mentioned too much recently, but to sum up what do you know? is there definite interest.. and if so would you expect him to choose us over swansea {Ed022's Note - There is definite interest, and I'd say Liverpool are looking fairly likely to sign him to be honest.}

This is GREAT news. I realy hope we get him.

Its funny cos all the bitters are thinking their getting him don't know where their getting the money from unless uncle bill has been doing really well at his car boot sales lol

I'd love him at Liverpool!

05 Jun 2012 18:50:34
can we still get
luuk de jong or gaston ramirez

05 Jun 2012 18:36:53
With regards to this "no Swansea players for 12 months" clause is it a full embargo between the clubs, or is it just subject to Swansea's disgression? I only ask because we're still getting a lot of links to players at the club. {Ed022's Note - We're still being linked because people are very, very stupid. The media have no idea who Rodgers is looking at so just assume that Rodgers wants all of Swansea's players so report that this is the case, or they report that a Swansea player wants to follow Rodgers etc. Utter crap to be blunt.}

05 Jun 2012 18:16:51
eds, need ur opinion..
-i know lfc interested in signing dempsey. Is he has any interest in joining us?
-when b.rodgers expected 1st training session with players?
-We cannot sign Swansea players. But what if Swansea's player handed in transfer request? So, the deal will not be valid?
-Any info which position B.rodgers keen to sign new players to strengthen squad?

Jiminez'lfc {Ed022's Note - A transfer request would change nothing at all (99% sure on that). I don't know when they report back to training, but most players will begin training mid-July. So far, we only know of solid interest in Sigurdsson. It is very unlikely Dempsey will be joining Liverpool this summer.}

I think one of our players on twitter said preseason starts july 9th (leiva maybe?)

05 Jun 2012 17:54:32
Hey ed(s) was reading on tribal football that liverpool are trying to scupper manchester uniteds chances of signing nick powell is there any truth in it or jus made up so saps like me will read it?lol

ACHILLES. {Ed022's Note - Rodgers is very interested in the young lad, and will be keeping a close eye on him.}

05 Jun 2012 17:44:29
PLEASE POST

Liverpool have agreed a deal with Man city for Andy Johnson £16.8 million te be confirm in next 24hrs also clint dempsey deal nearly done just awaiting medical very good source {Ed022's Note - When a post begins with 'Please Post', it is often the case that the post is itself full of crap.}

Don't think Dempsey will join,just look at Adam great season with Blackpool then struggled with the step up so I don't think Dempsey will come although this is just my view

'Andy Johnson' who's he? Didn't know he played for Man City. Before you make a post at least get the name right Adam Johnson!

Jorda

Agree Ed

Andy or adam and why that high? hmm

I thought Andy Johnson played for Fulham and Adam Johnson for Man City? haha

When the poster doesn't even know the players name, then you know he's definitely full of crap!

Andy johnson doesnt play for man city

What a waste of money

{Ed006's Note - Andy Johnson doesnt even play for Fulham so bidding on a free agent seems very silly.}

I'd rather get him on a free thanks

Yet more unbelievable crap

Adam johnson is class

Can't disclose my sources but there are ongoing communications regarding the Dubai royal family coming back in to put a bid for Liverpool.

Can understand people disregarding this as another arbitrary rumour, but I have it on good authority the preliminary discussions are being brokered.

Would be good if true, just see it now Dubai v Abu Dhabi. Its the only way we would be able to win the league again is by spending 100's of millions Wont hold my breath like.

Can understand people disregarding this.. - good, so you aren't upset then.

McSnuggles

I very much doubt it

Im happy with our owners what have they done wrong only saved the club from the brink of aministration some fickle fans need a reality check.

Even though I fully support our current owners and feel that they are actually working hard to build up our future in a secure and good way. This will take some time and it looks like City and Chelsea wont wait for us, deciding to spend big again!. I would welcome a sugar daddy owner to compete (money no object). Just off to the shops to sell my sole!

If true we should bite their hands off,let's
get back on a level playing at this moment in time we are playing with both our hands
tied behind our back.......

auntie annie....

I dont want this to happen. liverpool shouldnt turn to signing money grabbing players who only play for money. if a player wants to come to liverpool it should be because he wanyts to not because 300k a week makes him {Ed005's Note - I totally agree.}

Personally I don't want us to be just another rich club. I want us to be a football club, where players play football for the club and not for its money. It is important we rebuild for the long term, starting from the academy and philosophy, and NOT by spending crazily.

Also I believe FSG are one of the best owners to have in the sporting industry and wouldn't swap them for anyone else. They have a massive portfolio of sporting enterprise that has been very successful under their guidance, I can see they will bring the glory days back.

STB

I don't want owners from a politically unstable part of the world thank you very much.

Why would they buy now? They had a chance to buy at rock bottom price 12 months ago and didn't! Either you're a wishful thinker or on a windup...

They can invest in a chunk of the club, not actually buy full control. perhaps thats what the poster means? What with the new stadium being built, monies got to come from somewhere?
Lee73

No name and can't disclose source, must be true then !

Just not going to happen so wake up. If they were really interested they would have made sure they bought the club when it was available at a better price. They easily have the financial muscle over the current owners and would have made it happen.

No to jump on the band wagon but about a fortnight ago a friend of the family who goes many matches inc this summers tour of the usa told me the same thing about the dubai royal family.....make of it what will i personally dismissed it but this is twice ive heard this rumour now.

The shiekh of Dubai is a close relative of shiekh monsour, I doubt that will event will occur.
AnfieldUSA

It's ok people saying I want players to want to play for lfc not moneygrabbers,well wake
up and smell the coffee your MD IAN AYRE
has recently said that the only show in town
is 4th place,were 1 of only a few teams
playing by the rules but were being left behind bigtime, if we buy 1 20m player
chelsea or city will buy 3 were always at a diadvantage,if we were to finish 2nd
next year do you hand on heart honestly
feel the owners would push the boat out
the following year to get us to 1st I doubt it,
FSG are penny pinchers........

auntie annie.....

ANFIELDUSA Perhaps Citeh can become our feeder club ;)

Lee73

At the minute i wouldn't swap our owners for a pack of megabucks who don't care about football. besides do you want us to become like chelsea or man city ? lfc is an honest club and i don't want our club overloaded with over priced, overpaid pampered p*****

All those saying that they do not want a sugar daddy owner who can splash millions and millions are the same person who would come whining about liverpool not buying/bidding for world class players. If some of you can bear to see chelsea or manchester city winning trophies every season by spending money on top players, please dont come crying on this very site afterwards. THIS IS FACT!

Sheik al maktoume the ruler of dubia has had to lend money from sheikh mansoune his first cousin and son in law i think so I think they may be a conflict of interest for maktoume considering mansoune owns city

For info I left my name and email address so the site can refer as and when it happens {Ed022's Note - Or did you?}

You can't dislcose your sources...you mean, you dont have a 'source'.

For the record the Qatar family are not the same people from Dubai. Maybe the Qatar people might wanna buy shares, which will be good for us.

I have heard this aswell,they are interested in a 12.5% stake

Think u all got the rumour wrong. They are talking to AC Milan about a possible stake in the club. "AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has scheduled talks with UAE prime minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

La Stampa says the pair will meet on June 14 with Milan sure to be on the agenda.

Sheikh Mohommmed is worth US$16 billion and the prospect of buying into Milan is expected to be raised by Berlusconi."

Rumour on swans forums Joe Allen has handed in a transfer request....if accepted then the 12 month clause of signing swans players goes out the window....

Don {Ed022's Note - No it doesn't.}

I agree with Ed022, the clause states that LFC cannot make an approach for any of the players. The only one who can break the clause is Swansea themselves. They can offer a player to Liverpool and they can make an offer at that point. If Liverpool contact any of the players or state public interest in the players they will owe Swansea a large amount of money. No player on Swansea is worth more than 15m and I think the penalty for the clause is something ridiculous.

Plus Sawnsea need to maintain all of their players in order to get a new manager.

Even if he has, why do you assume he wants to come to us

Dont' need him, cole and aquilani are coming back, they'll feel like new signings.

Ed022, I know the clause doesn't go out the window, but as I've already said, I'm pretty certain that Jenkins would allow us to outbid a competitor in that instance. He's too good a businessman to sell a player for less than he could get from us (providing we had the funds to do so). Obviously this is all theoretical, but the rumours of Allen submitting a transfer request have come from some pretty strong Swansea ITK's. Whether it is accepted or not and whether they'll entertain bids is another matter.

Sean {Ed005's Note - If the 12month Swansea embargo isn't written in a contract as such then it can be broken. A gentleman's agreement means nothing in football these days when it comes to results.}

I think there's also the small point of unfair contract terms & one that effectively prevents a player from signing for another club could be regarded as exactly that. That's why I believe it can only be a gentleman's agreement. Swansea may regard it as player protection, but Bosman proved that players can use European and Contract Law to their advantage when it suits them!

hi eds with you expecting johnson to be sold this summer do you think that martin kelly will be 1st choice right back or do you expect us to sign a replacement? {Ed022's Note - I suspect Johnson is a likely departure this summer, and if he is sold on then yes a replacement will be brought in.}

Could well be a Centre Back next season, especially in the split centre half formation everyone expects us to play. Quick too which helps.

Shame i rate kelly and think he should be 1st choice

Not sure why Johnson would be sold when he was in the kit ads? Could you enlighten a bit Ed?

KopBoy {Ed022's Note - Kit ads mean dump all.}

Where on earth did you get that from? johnson will not leave liverpool this summer....the club would be going backwards id be furious with this and alot of others would be saying wow get rid of our top players to replace with mediocre mid table players. im starting to doubt owners again

What about Kelly?

Given that Rodgers has publicly name checked Johnson and the rest of the defence, I dont think he's planning on selling him. He worked with him at Chelsea & he knows that our defence was actually pretty good last season, so why dismantle and make his job even harder??

Rich P

Alberto Aquilani and joe cole will be here playing at anfield this year. Alberto Aquilani has said he has no problem playing for liverpool. "It is important that I have the opportunity to make a contribution, to be able to play well and play regularly." Rodgers thinks he is perfect for the style of football he wants to bring to are club. i will be well pleased if this happens aquilani would walk on our team.

Andy LFC

That is not true. He has always been given a chance and featured in most of Rafas games when fit. He simply doesn't appreciate the beautiful English weather. Talented, but moans too much. Needs getting rid of.

Also a little bit too lazy for Rodgers pressing system.

Joe Cole will but Aqua won't

I agree with B-Rodge in that Aquilani's style is similar to his own but his work rate is awful! If that huge issue gets sorted then I think we'd have a decent player on our hands.

Source?

When did Aquilani say this?

They'll feel like new signings!

It's nothing but posturing, Aquilani has to say that, all he cares about is his ridiculously high wages.

They'll feel like new signings, LOL! I'm sure Aquilani feels fat and doughy, just like before.

-Red Socks

Niether will come back. Aquilani is not suited to English football and Cole will not be able to meet the physical demands any more.

Aqua says the same thing every year while his agent hawks him around any italian club stupid enough to pay his massive wages its lke ground hog day every transfer window with him the sooner we get the lazy work shy mussolini lover off the books the better
riley

Aqua walks on just to limp off with a fake injury!

ED001,
Do you think that now, with Brendan Rodgers as our manager it is more likely we'll get Iker Muniain? {Ed001's Note - hard to say, he has a bit of an attitude and wants Champions League football, but, if he can't get that and they still want rid, I think Rodgers ability to speak Spanish would be a bonus, along with the style of play he wants.}

Would be a fantastic signing imo.

05 Jun 2012 16:49:51
Lille boss Rudi Garcia has confirmed Joe Cole is to return to Liverpool.

05 Jun 2012 16:34:42
hi eds do we have any interest in sebastion larsson? i knowhe is not the "big" signing we all want but we have to be realistic in our targets and larsson would def be a great signing down for rw position {Ed001's Note - no, he is not good enough, he offers nothing.}

Apart fom an awesome free kick

Agree Ed, he's pony mate.

Larsson offers nothing??Wow do you watch football Ed? his set pieces are excellent {Ed005's Note - If all he offers is his set-pieces then again it kind of supports the view not to bring him to Liverpool.}

Rodger that

05 Jun 2012 16:14:00
Hia Ed's

As we are intrested in Gyfli Sigurdson, does that make us favrioutes for him, or is it still Swansea? Thanks as always Ed's!

Burnsy {Ed001's Note - well he has put a stop to the move, I believe, until he sees who the new Swansea manager is. I would think we are favourites though, he wants to play for Rodgers.}

Ok thanks Ed. However, if he is going to wait to see who the new manger is, then could that be a while? Or is the new Swansea manager going to be in place soon?
Also, have we agreed a fee for him yet?

Thanks as always,

Burnsy {Ed001's Note - I mean before he will discuss terms with Swansea, I am sure if (probably should be when!) we make a bid, which we haven't as yet as far as I am aware, he will talk to us regardless of the situation at Swansea.}

Sigurdsson would be an absoloute steal for £7m. considering he would cost about 5 times that if he was british.

LFC-IRE

What's your opinion on Sigurdsson Ed? Clearly he knows how to find the net, but how's his all-round play? Passing and whatnot. Cheers!

DP {Ed022's Note - Good player in my opinion.}

05 Jun 2012 16:10:43
Hey ed's great site keep up the good work is there any chance we could see soldado playing for liverpool next season ? He would fit better into the style of play rodgers likes and do ye think the club would listen to offers for carroll to fund this buy ? {Ed001's Note - Carroll doesn't need to be sold to fund a move, there is a chance we could move for him, we have certainly shown interest but it is Rodgers' decision now.}

Why does everyone want to sell carroll? i know he has not been great for us so far but end of last season he was showing signs that he is finally settled and ready to start terrorising defences for us if terry cant handle him no1 can so have faith in him he is only young and will improve

05 Jun 2012 15:42:00
Eds, is there any chance of Liverpool signing Fernando Gago this Summer? I heard his deal with Roma broke down. {Ed001's Note - you would have to ask Rodgers himself, there was no serious interest prior to his arrival, but he might want to sign him.}

Gago is an excellent shout for DM, 2 footed calm on the ball and a good range of passing. Lucas is immense however probably not suited to DM passing pivot Rodgers has in mind. More a CM in my opinion,

05 Jun 2012 15:39:22
I have always been an admirer of Arjen Robben his pace an proven goal scoring ability is there for all to see! I know we showed some interest in the past do you think we have a chance of signing him or is that wishful thinking?

Wishful thinking we are no longer able to sign these sort of players until we are back in the champions league, and he has just recently signed a contract extension at bayern

Robben on one wing and johnson on the other!!! ....

reina
johnson enrique
skrtel agger

lucas

robben gerrard johnson

suarez carroll

Its wishfull thinking
trout

Would never happen - and thank god!

The most one-footed player ever! Bad attitude and very selfish..

Stone YNWA.

Hmm, yeah, right.
I'm sure Pepe would welcome him with open arms, or should that be an open palm?

Redjinal

We do not need a selfish player in our team, he single handed lost the Champs league final for Bayern because he wanted all the glory

liverpool preparing bid of 14m for man citys a johnson

Please please please be true

Hope so he would be a good addition

Source?

I dont get this a johnson talk i dont think he is very good he has a terrible attitude and bit of a drink problem he is not worth 10 mill never mind 14 mill man city fans also say he is too lazy -THE POPE

Source ??

I hope that's true he'd be a great signing

05 Jun 2012 15:27:19
hi eds with us needing someone capable of covering lucas and also challenging him for his spot in the team any chance of gago? looks certain to leave madrid and would be relatively cheap {Ed001's Note - I don't know of any interest, but Rodgers might rate him.}

He will most prob join as roma after his successful loan spell

I Eds/Macca,
Went on the Legends Tour of the stadium today as a gift for my dad's birthday as not been for about 20 years & our Legend (BIG guy who loves a pint lol), said he'd heard there was 4 players he'd heard the club were trying to tie up before the Euro's, he said don't expect Major delas before Euro's as no National teams will allow delas to go through during the tournament & disrupt preperation. He did say he heard the club were looking to sign Kalou & Craig Gorden on a free, Adam Johnson from City, Glfi Sigurdsson, also he reckons Rogers might try & use his ties with Jose Mourinho to try & strkie some deals, maybe loans, but he did keep saying have faith in the owners they are working hard behind the scenes to make sure Rogers has the tools he needs & they will back him as strongly if not more than they did with KK, apparently the Legends really buy in to Rodgers...

Razor Ruddock doesn't have any ties to the club does he?

Not that big a drinker either - he came to a function at work a week or two ago and only had a couple.

Verdad

The transfer of players between clubs has nothing to do with their respective country's.

Kalou, gordon.......no thanks
johnson, siggurdson........yes please
the wise one

Kalou and Gordon in my eyes would be good signings for backup. Kalou was only on 60k a week at Chelsea and considering we have no decent back up striker he would be worth a pinch. Also think that considering our goal keeper crisis highlighed how poor Jones and Doni are then Gordon wouldnt be a bad signing either.

It wasn't Razor, The transfer of players may have nothing to do with national teams but its sort of an unwritten rule so to speak that while players are away preparing for a tournament they cannot be released to have medicals & talk terms, to be fair it is the respective FA's around the world who pay wages to the players for them 3-4 weeks, altho I have heard the England players donate their FA wages to charity, but again just passing on info I was told.

espn:
rudi garcia lille coach has been quoted as saying the new staff at liverpool have decided to keep joe cole for next season , think this is good news never really given a proper chance ,could fit well into brendans style.
lets get behind BR and the team YNWA
ki101

Source

The reason he was never given a chance was because he was completely unfit. He couldn't do a whole lot and barely lasted 60 minutes. hopefullly Lille have gotten his fitness up.

TSP

The reason he couldn last more than sixty mins is because he is a heavy smoker i hope he has given them up because a lot of people dont think joe is a very good player but the thing is he is he can do things with a ball no other player in our squad could -THE POPE

I would only welcome him back if we can get his wages down. BR might be able to persuade him...

Hi eds

These Clint Dempsey to Liverpool rumours is there any truth in them?

I don't think he's good enough, you've just got to look at Adam at Blackpool he was great for them but he hasn't made that step up.

Can anyone really see FSG pay £10-£15m for a 29+ player because I can't.

TheBA300 {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware there is nothing in them.}

Dempsey is class

No disrespect to the Eds, but I actually think it is possible. We won't pay £10 - £15m, but it was rumored we were interested in him prior to Kenny's departure & he's a proven Premier League player & goalscorer.

It's all well & good being linked to these supposed big name players from European clubs, but could they end up being an expensive mistake? Suarez is amazing, but he's not scored enough goals and that is what we need if we're to seriously challenge for the top 4

Rich P

10-15? 4 million my friend

What are you talking about noy good enough? he scored more goals than any liverpool player in the prem last year

The rumours came from Ian Ayre I think about a month ago he said he would like that kind of player and mentioned his name i think to sky sports or something anyway thats where it came from

Cheers JJ

Hello Eds,
if Arsenal is really interested in Reina, let them have him - taking Szczesny and some cash would be a great deal!

No it wouldn't.

LOL.. Arsenal hold Szczesny in very high regard. He is a top quality goal keeper, and is 22. Why would Wenger who loves youth swap a player with the pottential to be better then Reina? It doesn't make any plausible sence.

TRJC

I would only sell better players abroad,not to Prem Rivals. Dont want him to go anyhow

Szczesny is only an ok goalkeeper (poor positioning), whereas Reina is world class. It would be a bad deal.

Why would arsenal pay £20m-odd for a goalkeeper? they never exactly have the cash to splash about, and Szczesny is one of the better young keepers in the prem - he's what, about 22?

Six arsenal fans hit the agree button! Sh*t post.

Al

Reina is the perfect gk for the tika taka system as the gk acts as a sweeper and an outlet from the defenders. reina is the best gk in the world with the ball at his feet, his distrabution is incredible therefore we should not sell him.

Sounds like the original poster is an Arsenal supporter?

Trishan

Szczesny is not a great keeper. he's simply better than almunia, like everyone else on the planet

Arsenal are a selling club these days, I would expect Szczesny to move on along with Walcott and RVP

Why should we sell one of the best goalkeepers in our history for some polish guy that cant even position himself right. He is only 22 but look what happened last season with de gea!! ynwa

Hey guys this iz muy first post (from brazil forgive me for writing so bad) but thats a good idea lots of love lucas madiera

Lucas Madiera? Is he the guy that makes the cake?

Lmao! Who is jojo and rena? That jojo sounds a beast!

Aurelio is already left i want the best keeper in the world to leave? jonjo shelvey is young and getting better and better jay spearing again getting better and betteru want dos santos who cant get into the spurs team affeley who is just terrible fernando llorente who wont leave bilboa and we dont need him luuk de jong who is unproven and more raw talent then carroll

Aurelio is already long gone

Finglas Red

What? Barely understood a word of that.

U know- Mojo Jojo!!!

I see you want to sell "Rena" . Who do you see replacing him...Llorente, Dos Santos or Johnson?? What a Moby!

Sorry if this has already been answered but did Dirk Kuyt put in a transfer request?

No but he was happy to leave due to he will get no game time and he had a release clause for something like £1m to an outside English team. {Ed001's Note - he had no release clause, just a verbal agreement the club wouldn't stand in his way.}

No, he had 1 year left and we would not stand in his way if he wanted to leave. deadly dirk is a liverpool legend in my eyes. i wish him and his family all the best in the future.

rumours in spanish media kaka could be set for a loan move to the mighty redmen rodgers has used his connections with mourinho to gain an interview with kaka and his agent as early as next week doubt it but thought i would share

Do you have any links to any spainish websites that say this, or any articles at all?

Thanks

Burnsy

Can't see it happening but to see Kaka in the EPL would be amazing even if he's not what he used to be.

TRJC

Which spanish press?

Well rodgers have good relation with mourinho. I read in twitter that rodgers still call him boss rather then his name mourinho. so few real player may join loan nothing surprise of it.

What does he have to offer at this point? What is he - 30 yrs old? And his wages are what - 200k/wk?

This sounds to me like a load of old kaka

If its in the spanish press it will be in marca a biased real paper

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
This post made my day. Kaka going to a team with no ambition, only won one trophy in what; 7 years?
Can't stop laughing. Utter tripe.

Doubt it, but even if it was true i don't think i'd want him, don't get me wrong, i like kaka, he seems like a top bloke and a good footballer, but he's made little or no impact in la liga, and i think it would be a similar case in the pren

Thought about this the other day, could be a great sneak by the club if they could pull it off. Motivation for him to prove he is still world class, great between the lines, keeps possession immensely, a face for the commercial side too.

@ LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

You sound like you support a club that won absolutely f**k all last season. Good for you.

Hi ed
Just wondering if there is any chance of mertens and what players are likely to go out on loan!? Please answer :)

Huxleypig22 {Ed002's Note - I don't see Mertens moving to LIverpool - if he moves I suspect it may well be to Bayern Munich although there is interest from Italy. It is too early to talk of loans.}

Can i just ask why can't u see him coming to liverpool? {Ed022's Note - Pretty sure he's keen on a move to a CL side.}

Is he any good though?

05 Jun 2012 14:10:48
Just a question do you think if any other club come in with a bid for any of the players we have shown an interest in eg. Ramirez,elm,de jong,soldado and any others do you see us bidding ourselves so we dont lose out on yet more targets thanks for all the great work on keeping us up to date on all things liverpool {Ed002's Note - Perhaps, I cannot say more than that.}

05 Jun 2012 14:02:28
Afternoon Ed, a mate of mine has told me that we have been watching a winger called Schelloto. I haven't heard this can you confirm/deny

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - He plays for Atalanta and was on loan, I don't recall where. I don't know of interest from Liverpool.}

I believe he was on loan from Inter and Atalanta signed him permently in January, I could be wrong. Have heard him linked with us before as well.

That would maybe be Matias Schelotto, he's a winger but also can play as a wingback.

Would be worth buying to see his girl...

hi eds, any chance of muniain, please answer me {Ed002's Note - Please use the search function.}

05 Jun 2012 13:57:03
Hi ed
Just wondering if there is any chance of mertens and what players are likely to go out on loan!? Please answer :)

Huxleypig22 {Ed002's Note - I don't see Mertens moving to Liverpool - if he moves I suspect it may well be to Bayern Munich although there is interest from Italy. It is too early to know who will go on loan.}

Why would we want Mertens

05 Jun 2012 13:50:43
I've had a look but couldn't find much on Jovetic. He is still only 21 and has been a top Serie A player for 2-3 years, and can only improve. He can play as a striker or a creative playmaker (no. 10 role).
Any chance of us getting him? Any interest at all? ( I know Rafa tried in his last year.) {Ed002's Note - Arsenal did show previous interest, but Roma, Chelsea and Napoli remain interested if and when he becomes available if the price is acceptable.}

Liverpool close to agreeing deal with Sunderland for Stephane Sessegnon. Fee is believed to be around £8m. Expect the news to be announced in the next 48 hours.

MOB,

Total nonsense

Do you have a source mate?

Burnsy

Good player

Excellent. He is a solid player, though not the type of signing Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal are getting. Guess that is the consequence of not being in champions league.

Sessegnon is absolutely brilliant and would definitely be one of the top players at the club if this were true. although since there is no proof looks like well have to wait and see

Wenger is very keen on him. Would be a great value buy for us. 8-10M.

Chi-Paul

05 Jun 2012 13:45:25
A source close to Suarez:

"It is thought Juventus were about to offer £16million or try to broker a cash plus player deal involving Eljero Elia or Milos Krasic.

But Rodgers has spoken with Luis to gain his confidence and explain the new project and his role in the team. Luis is calm about everything ."

LMFAO! WHAT A BIG JOKE! JUVENTUS TOP FLOPS PLUS MARE 16m FOR LIVERPOOLS BEST PLAYER.

Minimum 30M even to talk about it.

Clubs like Juventus, AC Milan are pissing us off atm, mocking us.

Bosco

Id take that suarez is to much hassel

Agree taking the p**s they are mate!

Serie a is a poor league it now below the German and even the French in my opinion

Luis Suarez is STAYING

The source close to Suarez wasn't the guy who live 4 doors down from him was it?

The offer is 16 mill plus one of the players ....still s**te offer but you never know wi the hassle hes caused

05 Jun 2012 13:35:36
Wigan enquiring about Jay Spearing

Spearing won't leave. At most it will only be a loan

Just wait to see if dave whealen mentions it on his daily slot on sky sports news. the man is an idiot

We won't be doing deals with Whelan.I am pretty sure of that.

05 Jun 2012 13:34:41
I have said this before, Liverpool will not make any "decent" transfer signings till after the euro's. Fact.
FowlerGod.

FACT! What does that mean?

Wow your name far to similar to mine

05 Jun 2012 13:33:08
Hey Eds,

Teams are starting to do deals so can you see Liverpool doing any deals anytime soon ? or are we in for a longgggggggggggg Summer.....

Thanks

Thatracoonstolemybacon {Ed002's Note - We annot predict the timings of any transction.}

But will there be any transaction ? {Ed002's Note - Of course.}

No where not after Shane Lomg

Would've been better if u spelt it right

05 Jun 2012 13:19:19
What's happening with financial fair play rules? I heard due to players signing new contracts, we need to sell to buy... Is that right? Who are we most likely to sell? Thanks , keep up the good work. {Ed002's Note - Don't orry abut them just yet.}

05 Jun 2012 13:10:59
Hi eds, just wondering if you know of any interest in Montpellier striker Oliver Giroud?, reply would beach appreciated {Ed002's Note - It was expected that Giroud would stay within France with a move to PSG but performances this season have seen Lyon, Marseille, Valencia, Newcastle, Villarreal, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Fenebahce, Bayern Munich and particularly Malaga show an interest. At one point Nicollin discussed the interest in the player saying Newcastle were too minor a club and Arsenal would have to pay 50M euros, if not 60M euros for the player. The reality is that he will move for perhaps 20M euros or so in the summer as it will be tough for Montpellier to persuade him to stay. Interest at the moment is still being shown by Manchester United, Arsenal and possibly even Liverpool - Bayern Munich have made an approach to Montpellier about Giroud who has let it be known that he has spoken with Ribery about a move to Munich and Arsenal have made contact with Montpellier. The player has declared an interest in a move to Italy, Germany and now England. I don't see Marseille being able to pay enough, nor even Lyon so a move outside of France beckons.}

Thanks for the reply, I personally think he would be a fantastic edition to the squad, great goalscorer, thanks again

C.Ross

05 Jun 2012 12:55:01
Is there any chance of a xabi alonso return ed I remember last summer you one of the eds saying it would be possible to happen this summer than last when it was be spoke about? {Ed002's Note - I doubt it.}

Why would he leave Real Madrid

05 Jun 2012 12:44:12
eds do you know of any serious intrest from liverpool/rodgers for any players?

thanks zz {Ed002's Note - PLease read the posts.}

05 Jun 2012 13:01:21
Arsenal enquired about Reina.

Yeah right?

Yeah they did .in 2009

05 Jun 2012 12:14:18
Can all stop with the Kagawa fantasies now as an agreement has been reached with man utd as I predicted back in february

Nevada

You were bound to get one right eventually, although i couldn't find your kagawa post. did see Rafa to Chelsea and Tevez to Liverpool though?

Well done Nevada. Pat yourself on the back.

I haven't read one post about him! so i think all these fantasies are in your head!! and you didn't predict it you read it in the paper!

Well done Nevada, you are truly an oracle in a sea of rumour-mongers. Well I would have said that if the Kagawa to Utd rumour wasn't first posted on this site 2 years ago - just before he broke his foot at the Asian Cup.

05 Jun 2012 12:11:49
A lot want rid of Maxi, I understand that but if there was one player in the squad who fits Tiki Taka football, it's Maxi. If it was 5 years ago he'd be nailed to stay!

What people have to understand its not just about the players it's also the wages they are on. Someone like Maxi gets around 80,000 per week.

Sisco

But its not 5 years ago, so youve sort of answered your own question!

Maxi has to go

05 Jun 2012 12:07:46
eds, do you know if we have got fobay nabay, can you confirm it? cheers. {Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}

05 Jun 2012 12:05:08
Any chance for Guidetti? {Ed002's Note - Guidetti has attracted the attention of Borussia Monchengladbach, Sunderland and Hannover but wil probably return to Manchester City as a squad member.}

04 Jun 2012 22:29:22
Hi eds,

Would Sergio Canales be available in the summer?
He looks like he would fit the "Tiki Taka" style of football very well.

Thanks

Balotelli's Hairdresser {Ed002's Note - Canales missed most of the season with a crutiate injury but remains at Valencia. He is on a loan to buy deal and will not be moving to Liverpool next season. I suspect that the player has no interest in a move away from Spain as demonstrated by the previous interest of Manchester City and Arsenal being rejected.}

05 Jun 2012 11:56:17
Rio Ferdinand just twitted that united are signing kagawa of Dortmund. Good player, were we ever interested? Surely it would of made sense aswell to tap into the Asian Market! {Ed001's Note - he was only interested in the United move, Wenger tried to persuade him to talk about Arsenal and he rejected them out of hand.}

Its finalised on bbc website which means its pretty much done

You follow Ferdinand on twitter? Can't believe that

It has been confirmed

A mate in work is a Manc an he re-tweeted it.He was very happy seems to think
It's a great bit of business, I've personally never seen him play before but his stats from Last season look very good, think he scored 21 in 49 games from attacking midfield.

05 Jun 2012 11:55:18
Eds.. Just wantin to know your thoughts on rasmus elm..? There was talks but seemed to hav died down.. I read bout him bein labelled as 'gerrard like' cos of his powerful shooting and passing.. think hes in the frame..? Wat do u think of him comin to liverpool and wat sorta price..? Cheers {Ed001's Note - I do think he is still in the frame, I don't have a clue on the price though, but he is still being monitored, just waiting on Rodgers to say yes or no on a move for him. I don't know if he really is quite the quality we are looking for, but I haven't watched him play for a few years, so he could have made a lot of improvement since then.}

You can watch him in the euros playing for Sweden

I don't think rogers will look at him if we buy siguarsson

He is a better and younger version of adam. it is hard to imagine either elm or adam in rodgers' game plan. wud rather expect cole/aqua fitting nicely into it. and of course with the prospect of siggurdson (spelling) arriving, the chances for adam and elm can only be reduced.

But ed he is in the team of the year on Fifa ,, ha lol , Fifa belivers

05 Jun 2012 11:50:12
Have you any sources that have details on gylfi by any chance?

05 Jun 2012 12:03:41
Buy
Adam Johnson
Gylfi Siggurdson
Didier Drogba
Scott Dann
Joe Allen
Sell
Maxi
Aurellio
Kuyt( already gone)
Skrtel ( if he wants to go)
Lucas

Why sell lucas agree with the rest

Drogba?! Are you ill?

Sell Lucas?

Get your head checked son.

- Something Red -

We cant fund Drogba wages so thats a no... Why sell lucas he was probally pur best player during the first stages pf the season!

Lucas are you insane kids off school again

Wow, when was the last time you actually watched a Liverpool game never mind went to one. Why on earth would we want to sell Lucas, he has arguably been our best player for 2 years up untill he got injured against Chelsea. Oh and I'm sure Drogba would love to move to Liverpool

Drogba to china, cant get allen for a year, scott dann was hopeless last year, and why let lucas and skrtel go when they are two of our best players

Have u had a bump to the head?

Sell lucas, last two seasons he has been are best player until injury

Aaarrgggggh
School holiday time aint it!
Piddy

Drogba is looking 250k a week, not worth it! Sell Lucas? U stupid? He's our best player!

Thankfully someone see's Lucas for what his is... Useless

Lucas is class, just hope he recovers well from his injury!

Drogba? Methinks someones been on the LSD again.....

It is a case of out of sight, out of mind with Lucas?

Can't wait for him to come back. We would never have been 2-0 down in the FA Cup final if he had played.

Your either drunk or a nutcase my friend! Why would you sell lucas? Do you want lfc to be a midtable team forever?
A.K

You all sound like united fans can't have a bad word said against one of our players, Lucas is above average at best! He played two good games last season then got injured and the season before was average with everyone around him playing poor which made him look better.

Sigurdson Likely
Adam J maybe
didier Drogba to high wages
Scott Dann not god enough
Allen unlikley

05 Jun 2012 12:02:48
daily mail reporting juventus ready to test liverpools resolve with a 16mil plus elia bid for luis suarez just as brendan rodgers tells liverpool board luis is integral to his future plans also lille manager has revealed liverpool new management team has stated cole will play a part in there plans next season

16 million whats that for the deposit lol... allfc

Yeah they just want us to give them our best players for cheap rates. why would one of the best attacking forces in world football join a second rate cheating league.Please dont start going on about cl.

40 million straight cash spend it on higuain although that's a long shot plus Ramirez
Throw Munian in their as well and possibly Diame to allow spearing to be moved on
Isla for Johnson should also be looked ar

I think that BR has already demonstrated that he'll get what he wants. And if he wants Suarez then I guess that Luis will stay.

05 Jun 2012 12:00:05
Please Post

Clint Dempsey will meet liverpool medical team and have a medical tomorrow i heard this from a member of Fulhams Medical team who has had to send fitness reports to liverpool
Good Signing
YNWA

Quite possible as Fulham are on the hunt for a new striker.

When would the deal be completed?

Dempsey is in the US for WC Qualifiers.

Don't like him, mediocre player and has got serious attitude problem. dont want him in lfc.

05 Jun 2012 11:58:57

05 Jun 2012 11:29:51
eds lets say rogers doesnt make the top 4 and doesnt win nothing will liverpool consider his future or will he be given more time to shape his squad.... hope he gets as much time as he needs also how strong is the intrest in siggurdson ? {Ed002's Note - Not making the top four will probably not put his job at risk. He is certainly interested in Sigurdsson.}

If he doesn't win nothing then he will have won something?

I'd be very happy if he "didn't win nothing".

It's all about silverware!

Napoli and Inter only managed to qualify for the Europa League. So they are in a similar position to Liverpool. It is not ludicrous to suggest that Lavezzi or even Cavani or Hamsik would come to Liverpool. Yes they are more likely to stay put than move to Liverpool but across Europe there were some underachievers. Inter, Napoli, Liverpool, Marseille, Bilbao(maybe). Those are just off the top of my head however all those clubs have players in positions that Liverpool would benefit from. Coutinho(unless hes agreed to move already?!), Lavezzi, Cavani, Hamsik, Andre Ayew, Muniain, Susaeta. All brilliant players from clubs who underachieved this season. A few Liverpool players will be moving on also and to compensate we need some fresh, bright, exciting European talent, to get the best out of our youngsters and the players we already have. Potentially we could be brilliant next season but this transfer window will determine just how brilliant we are likely to be. Rant over.

Thanks

Kam

Villarreal were quite notable underachievers.

Lavezzi has gone to PSG

I dont think these clubs underachieved. I think its getting harder and other teams are getting better. so this is the way things are going to be from now on. On the player you mentioned I agree that liverpool could sign any of these player if they really wanted to but its all about money.

Not a chance in hell

I like your thinging Kam

I think that when a respected pundit like Chris Kamara decides to post on here, people should at least take notice. I like the way your thinking Kammy and completely agree with you.

All of the teams you mentioned above are better than liverpool simple as!the last 3 seasns liverpool have finished 7,6,8.you cannot say thats under achieving if your talking about them being in the CL.the table never lies and the simple fact is liverpol are not good enough anymore,nothing to do wit under achieving

05 Jun 2012 11:20:48
Anything conctete on bringing Xabi Alonso back? For me it was the biggest mistake by Senor Benitez during his tenure.

Remember the reason Xabi wanted out.. Benitez tried to sign Gareth Barry, then some person fans ruined any chances of him coming here.. yeah.

05 Jun 2012 11:20:36
eds a dont think we need to much new players but is there a chance of van wolfswinkel {Ed001's Note - I have heard of no interest, thankfully.}

05 Jun 2012 11:13:29
Italian press reporting that Liverpool are interested to begin discussions with Juventus over a possible move for one of their wingers. Either Eljero Elia or Milos Krasic.

..and Aquilani will make his final decision about the future after meeting the new management

- RedKhan

To you have any links to online sites showing this article(s)?

Thanks
Burnsy

Both guardian and coughtoffside link us to these players but as a makeweight for suarez-no news headlines so they make them up!

We should never even entertain any deal with juve or Milan considering the disrespect and outright cheek they have shown liverpool over aquilani

Neither are good enough

05 Jun 2012 10:22:23
Just heard from a great source that BR already knows 3 of his main targets and will move for them asap. They are:
Luuk De Jong
Ryad Boudebouz
Mohammed Diame.
Others we will just have to wait and see.
JayReds

No ther not and I don't believe you

Seems strange that Rogers should want all of the players previously linked with Kenny, does,nt he have his own prospective signings?

Wells he been ambitious

05 Jun 2012 10:18:52
Gylfi Siggurdsson - Agent, says "Siggurdsson would be interested in a move to Liverpool Football Club"

Link then please. Nothing when you google it

Burnsy

Eds? {Ed001's Note - I have no idea where this comes from, been too busy editing to look around and try and trace it. So I just posted it, in the hope someone would produce the link or disprove it as nonsense in the meantime.}

It's false. You copy & paste quotes. Therefore it would read Sigurdsson - not Siggurdsson...

Stone YNWA.

05 Jun 2012 10:11:32
Is there any truth to the jordy claise rumours? As I can't find any stories on the Internet.

Many thanks

05 Jun 2012 10:02:45
Rogers is to challenge untd and arsenal for the signature of youngster nick Powell from crewe
who is a Liverpool supporter.

Camo924

I'm pretty sure the eds have covered this and said he was a man united fan?

Why is everyone Liverpool are supposedly linked with a "Liverpool supporter"?
De Jong is a Liverpool supporter!
Powell is a Liverpool supporter!
Every football player on the eastern hemisphere is a Liverpool supporter!
You won't sign half the targets you're after.
Deluded dreams for a dead team.

I hope this is true as he is a Man U target and would be nice to stick one up old Whiskey Nose . Plus he looks a very good prospect !
Guinnessred8

Who cares who he supports? Players don't always sign for the team that they followed.

Did Carra, Fowler, Rush or Owen sign for Everton? Did Whelan play for Utd? Players go to teams that can offer the best prospects for first team football and for success.

05 Jun 2012 10:01:59
Are muniain
Moussa Sissoko
Christian Erricksen(spl?)
J Martinez
R Soldado out of the question would love an answer great work cheers

Yes, muniain is likely to remain in spain, martinez will go to a bigger club! Dont think theres any interest in cissoko, eriksen is a said spurs fan and would like to go their IF he came to england which I doubt!

Ha spuds could never get eriksen.hes destined for the top.madrid or barca is where he'll go

05 Jun 2012 09:09:18
Eds?

Is there any chance of James Forrest at Celtic?

Young, quality winger, only 20 years old and wouldn't cost the world {Ed001's Note - hard to tell, we weren't interested prior to Rodgers' arrival, though he has been looked at.}

05 Jun 2012 04:18:48
daily star reporting we have won the race to sign Foday Nabay i havent seen this kid play at all assuming he is going into the reserves?

Jpow_LFC {Ed001's Note - he is 14 or 15, he will be going into the Academy.}

Is that a deal done then or just paper talk? What position is he? {Ed001's Note - I don't know for sure, it is very difficult to find out as they don't have to register professional terms for a schoolboy.}

It is true

Is he the kid that was joining Arsenal ?

05 Jun 2012 01:44:36
Ed(s) what do you reckon the chances are of signing someone before the Euros? Any deals in the pipe-line nearing completion? {Ed001's Note - I doubt it, we had to wait for Rodgers before we could start working on deals, so it will hold us back. But not every player is involved in it, the best time to bury news and keep it quiet is when something big is going on, just ask the Government.}

Haha, brilliant one Ed!

Burnsy

I can think of a certain Valencia striker who''s not involved...

No chance of signing somebody before the Euros

Ed when you say something big is happening, what exactly do you mean? Are we in for a surprise? Is it ronaldo or messi? {Ed001's Note - the something big I was referring to, was the Euros!}

Ed what did you mean by just ask the government? Very intriguing!

R@ {Ed001's Note - oh, simple, every time they have something they don't want people to notice, they bury it under something big.}

05 Jun 2012 00:04:40
Hi! First I just want to say Thank You for giving all of us some info!

Just read that LFC has signed a youngster from Birmingham, Foday Nabay and that we are getting in the race of signing Nick Powell. True?

I've read what you've written before, but things do change..

And any new news?

Thanks!

Norwegian LFC fan, TK {Ed001's Note - I don't know what is happening with Foday, I know we are interested, as are many others, but I don't know anything more. Powell is very much a target, has been a long time, I expect Rodgers to look at him closely.}

If we did get him we should loan him to a decent championship club until January then see if we could fit him in the first team squad like we did with Shelvey. We should probably do the same with sterling so they can get regular 1 XI football
ygm
Y.n.w.a.

Powell is very good, ''a bit special'' i think many will agree. ;)

Liverpool have played many youthful prospects over the last few seasons it is a working progression and ethos which is building within the club.

Flannagan, Robinson, Kelly, Henderson, Shelvey, Carroll, Spearing and now Sterling, Suso and Texiera are ready to push for a break through in the squad, with some of the older players moving on.

So if you're young come to Liverpool and play some part, it's looking like the place to go if you're young, as you'll get games to prove yourself, within a fair amount of time.

Do we have a chance of getting Nick Powell, or is it very low?

Thanks

Burnsy

Id be delighted if we got young Powell, we have missed out on some great young English players like Chamberlain, walcott and Jones over the years. This would mark our intent to wraqp this one up.

I'm glad where after Powell

04 Jun 2012 23:59:12
If Johnson does inevitably go, do you think we could get Nathaniel Clyne of Crystal Palace? He looks like he could become a quality player!

Gergory van der Wiel

Is he on a free?

Johnson won't be going anywhere, have u heard what rodgerrchas said about him?

Isla looks far more likely plus he plays anywhere

04 Jun 2012 23:54:05
Is there any truth in the Man s**tte looking at Daniel Agger? Hope not!

Agger is the defender that is supposedly getting itchy feet about leaving for the Champions League, i don't think it's Skertl at all.

Agger even said ''Maybe we're not that good.'' Earlier in the season, which Sky ran with as a headline and tried to stretch it as far as they could away from the context in which it was said.

Agger's got Barcelona sniffing, as well as A.C Milan, Man City have him as an alternative to Thiago Silva from what i can tell.

I think Agger will leave, hopefully it's for £16m+, especially if City get involved and drive the price higher, he's bloody worth it and more.

Personally i'd want £25m for him, when people moan about his injuries, i'd explain that he's played 33 times this season in all competitions, then i'd also remind them of why we are having the conversation; because he's played very well in those games.

Needless to mention, i'm a big Agger fan.

Top teams want great players...and since Agger is a great player, of course they are looking at him...whether they end up buying him is another matter...

04 Jun 2012 23:25:17
Hi eds,
Any chance of us buying samba/dann or even goodwille from blackburn? {Ed001's Note - seriously? Samba left in January, Dann has shown he just isn't good enough and Goodwillie wasn't even good enough for Blackburn.}

Just shows what idiots are playing computer games and going by ratings try to rebuild
Liverpool, stick to fictional games
pal and leave football to the big boys

Finglas red

They're all amazing on Fifa 12. I'm guessing that's where the question is coming from...

I see Steve Kean is resorting to unconventional methods to try and offload his flops.

Tommy Walsh

Every time I play against Balckburn on FIF12 Goodwillie scores 2 past me! Argh! He can't even get on the pitch in real life :)

Funny post though, either 12 months too late or playing too many games

Gav

Dann's not egg-sactly the kind of player we need now?

Kaizer

Are you being serious ? None of those players would improve our squad

Scott Dann is a target. Local lad too

04 Jun 2012 23:12:31
Iv just heard from a reliable source that liverpool have enquired about yohan gourcuff, but I wouldn't take it too seriously myself as he is class even though he had a rather average season last year, is there any truth in this do you think?

What a load of rubbish. I'm sick of telling people on here Adam Johnson wants to go to spurs coz he wants to work will Harry Rednapp. But unless u r a favoured few no1 actually takes any notice.

Jimbob

Couldn't cut it at Milan and in my opinion was a one season wonder in France, we're better off without him taking big wages and living off a reputation

Finglas red

I'd rather keep the midfielders we have

If he's class, why did he have an average season? Contradiction at it's finest. People tend to overrate these players boundlessly.

Obviously not too reliable if you're not taking it too seriously

04 Jun 2012 23:12:25
Clint Dempsey to lfc 7 million

More than 7m mate

04 Jun 2012 23:05:19
Aparently we have won the race to sign Fobay Nabay from Birmingham hes U16 player for around 70k due to a loophole source: MirrorFootball

04 Jun 2012 23:02:44
Eds, It has been reported that newcastle are going to try and sign luuk de jong before the euros for a replacement for ba, they are said to put bid for him at a price of 10 million. Do you think we can get him before newcastle try amd get him ? and also do you think he would prefer a liverpool contract to a newcastle? {Ed001's Note - I would think it is more likely Ba stays and they don't move for him personally.}

Let them have de jong, opens the door for us to have ba then, hes a great player who scores goals but can play on the wing to

Another Van Wolfswinkle, wants to go to
Portugal instead of trying the big leagues, destined for Benfica

Finglas red

Too many clubs on this player. Better clubs than newcastle that offer CL footie. The toons have little chance of signing him.

04 Jun 2012 22:56:26
Please post. To the ed's i want to know how much kuyt was sold because some papers are reporting £2.7m, so what is the actual amount he was sold at? This is my first post on this site. Great work, keep it up. {Ed001's Note - the actual figure is less than a million, I believe.}

Around a region of £800,000

It's at least 1 million or he wouldn't have left because the sale was triggered by a release clause in his contract that says hf could be sold to a foreign club for any vid over a million pounds

Maybe the fee plus wages saved would make it closer o a total if 2.7 mil?

Mark the Selby Red

Ed do lfc have to pay any of his wages {Ed001's Note - not as far as I am aware and there was no release clause! Will people stop spreading that lie about. The fee was £880,000, or 1m Euro.}
