Hearing of a huge announcement regarding naming rites. Ed 01 have you heard anything? Thanks

{Ed001's Note - it is just the stands isn't it? I am sorry I don't take much notice of that kind of thing, it is something I don't like to hear about. It reminds me of how much football has lost its soul.}

The stadium being renamed has also been in consideration. Would hate for LFC To sell naming rites for Anfield, but can understand in this modern era the monies that this can generate. Thanks for the reply Ed

Hi Ed002,
Just wondering how often we will be receiving the long transfer update list? Could you also copy and paste the previous list into your answer as I can't find it?

Believable4 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - There are some minor updates but much of this will change by the summer and there are major dependencies on (a) players leaving (b) how much money the club can raise through sales (remembering that Liverpool will be probably be looking to sell players by the end of June to offset FFP issues), (c) Champions League qualification, and (d) any change in senior management or the management structure. However, there is known to be (or have recently been) some level of interest in the following players:

GK: Patricio, Ochoa, Neto, Sportiello (unconfirmed to some extent as Atalanta and the player heard about the interest from an Italian journalist), Romero, Ryan, Ruddy. The club have also looked at many others.
RB: Danilo (certainly won't happen). I am not sure what will happen to Wisdom. I suspect a new deal for Flanagan but if Manquillo and Johnson both leave then the club will look for a new RB. If Rodgers remains as manager it is not out of the question that Ibe may be tried in a wing back role. Alternative is that Manquillo stays and RB is no longer a priority. The likes of Adriano and Alves have been mentioned by agents as possible options but such players will be expensive and are unlikely to end in anything but tears. Folks, I assume because of something in the press, have been asking about Janmaat moving to Liverpool. I don't know of interest but I am pretty sure Newcastle would not want to sell.
LB: Sam Byram has been watched.
CB: A new deal has been offered to Toure and he will be considering his options. I doubt a CB is a priority - at least not before the club clear out some of those already on the books (Skrtel, Lovren, Sakho, Ilori, Coates, Paez, Lloyd Jones and Kolo Touré).
MF: I understand from an ex-German international that Liverpool have watched Lars Stindl on more than one occasion this season but he has decided to reject the interest of Liverpool and will move to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer. Milner, Khedira (looking very, very, very unlikely), Pjanic (outrageously expensive), Vazquez. Even though he has very recently extended his contract, Inter are willing to sell Kovacic and have spoken with Arsenal, Liverpool and Hertha Berlin. Nikky Vuskan has said there has not been any approach to him from any club at this time and that whilst Inter may be willing to sell the player, Kovacic wants to stay at the club. Filipe Anderson has been watched but nothing will happen with Liverpool.
F/W: Ings, Vietto (probably not possible), Heung Min Son (as an alternative to Vietto). Gameiro, Baez (a WP would be an issue initially), Kishna (I understand that old interest has been rekindled but it is hard to see how he would fit in), Lacazette (not going to happen), and Liverpool have looked again at Firmino (can't see it happening) and have been looking at Depay - perhaps as an alternate to Sterling. Two other players the club were interested in - Bakkali (I suspect Liverpool have stepped back from their interest like many other clubs) and Andre Ayew (a free agent who Liverpool enquired about last summer - no obvious interest right now but it may return). If Sterling were to leave then a move for Walcott may be on the cards, or perhaps Cheryshev - but no offer has been made.

Excellent Ed! Thanks very much!

05 May 2015 18:32:41
Why is Vietto not possible?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are likely priced out of the market for the player and are looking again at Bayer Leverkusen's Heung Min Son.}

05 May 2015 18:49:11
Brilliant. Thanks for the update Ed002. I think Son would be a very decent player if we get him, but maybe, just maybe, we could have got him last year instead of Balotelli.

05 May 2015 19:25:21
The real AG

Getting son instead of balo would have made to much sense lol.

I just hope with whatever funds we have we look at getting the best striker available to us, really need a top goal scorer next season

Great updated reply Ed, very informative. Montoya not mentioned as on option for RB? You still not heard anything your end mate on the speculation? Some saying it's all agreed. Obviously it's a load of tosh.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Not all agreed.}

06 May 2015 09:10:35
Hey Ed. a small concern regarding son. he hasn't completed his 2 year compulsory military service.So wouldn't our transfer committee take that into account before signing him. as the resale value looks bleak

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes, though there are ways round it.}

06 May 2015 11:00:45
Thanks for the update Ed,
Byram is a RB, so does the interest in Garbutt remain?

Also, in terms of midfielders, I think we can cross Khedira & Pjanic off the list, Carvalho would depend on ECL qualification and I can see Kovacic joining Arsenal.
So, aren't there any actually realistic names that you'd propose, aside from Milner?
Thanks a bil as always!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have said where there has been interest.}

06 May 2015 18:17:17
Ed which vazquez is that?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool enquired about the availability of Real Madrid's Lucas Vazquez and were told Espanyol had an option as part of a buy-to-loan deal but that he would be allowed to leave this summer.}

06 May 2015 19:12:40
Brilliant thanks again ed appreciate it.

Hi eds,

Do we still have interest in Jordy Clasie? Looks like he will finally move this summer.

Thanks.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - last I heard he was all set for Southampton in the summer, I was told it was all sorted in January as a replacement for Cork, but put off until the summer. Our interest was back when Rodgers first took over and we have kept tabs but there has been no sign of a deal being attempted in the summer.}

06 May 2015 11:37:26
Thanks ed. Destined to be one of those players who will be bought cheap and then be worth a fortune the next season. I should have known with our policy that we wouldn't want to buy him at a reasonable price :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you never know what can happen, until a deal is completed fully anything can happen. I have seen clubs announce signings after a player has done the medical etc, only for the player to then turn round and sign for someone else. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if Southampton got gazumped on him, as there will be a lot of midfielders moving this summer as the dominos tumble following the Pogba move.}

05 May 2015 15:54:11
Is there any interest in Sam Byram from Leeds? Very good and promising RB. Also played RWB effectively this season. Would be an obvious replacement for Johnson IMO.
Cheers Eds

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - there was interest in the past, it waned this season.}

05 May 2015 15:15:17
Ed001

Has there actually been any communication or discussion from Liverpools representatives / agents and representatives / agents of a) Ajax b) Depay himself in declaring interest of a possible summer transfer?

Has Memphis Depay actually spoken directly to any representatives or agents from Liverpool FC in regards to the possibility of a summer transfer?

Thank you in advance

Regards

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Depay plays for PSV, so I doubt we would contact Ajax regarding him! From what I have been told, we have registered interest with the club and spoken to his reps to find out if he would be willing to join us. As far I am aware, no more has been done.}

05 May 2015 16:32:43
And would he be interested in joining us?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he hasn't ruled us out of the equation so far.}

05 May 2015 17:14:39
Eds1 thanks for your reply and apologies for the school boy error

Regards

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no worries, easily done.}

05 May 2015 17:16:21
But if or when Van Gaal makes the call to him he will likely listen and go to them? They have been quite with him thus far though.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - they are busy chasing Bale.}

05 May 2015 13:27:14
Hi Eds,

Saw a couple of articles linking us with Will Hughes. Just wanted to check if there's any real interest from our end.

Thanks.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - old story, our interest is longstanding.}

05 May 2015 09:35:57
Have we been looking at Micah Richards this season, with Glen Johnson leaving and Manquillo not looking good enough. Richards being on a free would seem a possible signing?

Believable3 Unbelievable7

{Ed001's Note - no.}

05 May 2015 10:30:43
Honestly don't get the chat with Richards . He's too cumbersome . Can't get a sniff over there and with city . Not great at all . Turns like a bus

Brannagan and Wilson contracts expire this season? If so, are you aware if club wants to give them a new contract? Thanks.

Believable2 Unbelievable8

{Ed001's Note - last I heard they were both getting new contracts.}

05 May 2015 09:36:04
Cameron Brannagan has not been offered a new deal and is already in contact with 5 different premier league clubs and Leverkeusen. The way they have treated him expect him to leave for the lure of first team

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he was supposed to be being offered a new deal at the end of the season, the contact with other clubs is normal, that happens with every half decent kid, let alone a very good one like him.}

06 May 2015 19:04:03
Harry Wilson signed a 3 year deal last summer and Cameron Brannagan signed a 3 and a half year contract in Nov.2013 so i don't know where you come up with this

06 May 2015 19:04:35
Just google it!! Its a wonderful thing!!

07 May 2015 14:56:42
Kanasani i know Brannagans dad very well. The way he has been treated by the club they have seen it as insulting. He WIll not sign for Liverpool this summer again i can bet my hous eon it.
