No they were inquiring about yeh availability of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and seeing if he was for sale. While they were there they asked if Nicholas Anelka was available too.

Thats List really does scream quality.

Agree8 Disagree16

05 May 2017 17:04:52
It screams more potential than quality. I'm not slaying the list but I think we need to pepper in some more title challenge ready players into the mix personally.

I like pereira (from what I've read/ heard) and I think Brandt would be great.

If Sturridge leaves (which he likely will), I'd prefer a more experienced striker than Dembele etc as I'm happy with origi as our striker with great potential, I'm pretty sure he'd tear it up in Scottish league too.

Saw Brereton play at City Ground vs. Reading a couple of weeks back. The lad is strong, quick and has a lot of energy. For a 17 year old he's a bit of a unit too. He bullied the Reading left winger all game. He was pretty effective on right side of attack and got into the box well, had a couple of chances. Not sure he's LFC quality just yet but definitely one to look out for. Forest fans really rate him.

05 May 2017 17:45:12
Why would he bully their left winger, what did he ever do to him?

Id rather this list say Mbappe, Asensio, giminez, cedric, gaya tbh

And that would still give us are annual saints player so the scouts are happy.

05 May 2017 22:55:16
Not exactly a stellar list but with the resources we have and the fact we aren't champions league regulars anymore that's where we are in the transfer market. But as tottenham have proven if the players suit the style of play we have anything is possible.

Agree3 Disagree4

06 May 2017 02:00:09
Andre Silva would be quite the coup though. Can play both RW and ST. Good cover for Firmino and Mane until he is fully acclimatized to the BPL. Would be very expensive though. Hear he has a 60 million Euros buyout clause.

Agree5 Disagree2

06 May 2017 08:43:40
Would rather see players like isco, van dyke, Bertrand, lanzini, cresswell, verratti and aubermyang on that list.

Left back, centre half, midfielder attacking midfielder and striker.

Agree2 Disagree4

06 May 2017 09:27:49
HOW can you put Isco and Veratti in the same sentence as resell and Lanzin?! Hahaha I am dying, too much on this page sometimes.

Did you not see lanzini last night toTrentham couldn't deal with him one of the best defendive units in the prem. More chance of getting him.

Agree0 Disagree2

06 May 2017 10:34:58
Looks like we never learn from previous windows. Always looking for potential, with a sell-on value instead of established quality players, who can go straight into the first team.

Agree6 Disagree1

08 May 2017 12:43:23
I have to agree with Payne10, but I don't think we'll ever be that club that goes for the superstars. I'd love VVD, Naingolan and Aubamayang/ Lacazette to be the list, but i have full faith in the manager for spotting talent so let's just get behind who ever we bring in.

Also i'd take Lanzini in a heart beat.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - why would you want Nainggolan? Yes he is a very good midfielder, but he is 29, a heavy smoker, parties like there is no tomorrow and is likely to only have a couple of years left in the tank with his lifestyle. Also he would not have any interest in leaving Rome, he loves it there, already turning down the chance to double his salary by moving to the Premier League at least once previously.}

08 May 2017 15:19:49
He's just always impressed me when I've seen him play, however I didn't realize he was that old so to be fair it would make little sense.

I also liked the look of Jetro Willems for LB but I've not seen much of him recently.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I like Willems too, from what I have seen, but that isn't much.

Nainggolan is an excellent player but I would steer well clear.}

08 May 2017 21:41:44
Remember Jetro Willems used to be the 'next big thing' having been called up to the Dutch national squad for the Euros in 2012 and was linked with everyone. The Dutch being the Dutch though, crashed out with three losses in the group stages and Willems just kind of fell off the radar.

Hi eds, I've read a lot regarding a move for oxlaide chamberlain is there anything in this?
Thanks.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach from Liverpool for Oxlade-Chamberlain and it makes little sense as his primary position is similar to Mane. If Klopp sees him playing behind Mane in midfield then it would be that right sided role Can and Wijnaldum have been playing in recently. Last summer the likes of West Ham and Leicester showed some interest. I would be surprised if he were to move but perhaps Klopp sees something in him - his haircut is rather silly but not really up to Liverpool standards.}

05 May 2017 11:31:21
hi eds, is their still some interest in lacazette from liverpool? he rates champions league football very highly and lyon are not going to get it this season. thanks.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Interest in Lyon's Alexander Lacazette from Newcastle and Inter has long gone. Additionally, whilst Guy Hillion has continued to extol his virtues but there is no support whatesoever from the folks in London for a bid at this time - so prior interest of Chelsea has gone. Barcelona, Atletico, Juventus and Spurs had him watched late last season - but Barcelona had another solution in mind for what they want and will not be following up. Juventus took it no further and moved to hold talks about another player and Spurs purchased Janssen but may still want to add a striker in the summer - but Lacazette may become an option again so I would not totally discount Spurs nor Juve.

West Ham enquired after Lacazette's availability previously and submitted two bids that were rejected - but wages and the lack of desire from the player to move to a club like WHU means that option has probably gone - plus Lacazette will want Champions League football.

Atletico however know there is apossibility of their summer transfer ban being overturned and Griezmann leaving - Lacazette is one of the two players they have in mind.

Dortmund are continuing to hedge their bets by looking for a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang replacement and have watched Lacazette on a couple of occasions.

Arsenal decided that the asking price was too high in the summer and opted, for reasons beyond me, for Lucas Perez. I suspect that they might return in the coming summer when they will be in the market for a striker and Lacazette might well be a good option for them - much will however depend on who the manager is.

He is not first or second choice for PSG but they could potentially turn to him if they fail to bring anyone else in - I think a less likely option.

I am not aware of Liverpool showing any interest in the player recently, but (a) if they look to move Sturridge on (which I think they will), (b) if Liverpool qualify for the Champions League, and (c) if Liverpool have the stomach to pay what will likely be around €60M or so for the player, then Lacazette might well be an option.

Lacazette is a player that Mourinho has looked at from his time at Chelsea, but any interest will depend on what happens with Ibrahimovich. Right now Manchester United have shown no interest.

Lyon are very difficult to negotiate with and they may well see an Gallic shrug in response to any initial bids. Lacazette wants English money and Champions League or Juventus. Lyon will look for at least €10M more for a sale to an English side as they know what they can expect from elsewhere. Two French players who have played in England have been providing advice to Lacazette that it is not essential to move to England immediately, but I suspect he has other ideas now and would welcome a move.}

05 May 2017 22:47:17
Hi ED 2 and reds.

Regarding Sturridge and your opinion the club will probably move him on.

Given that we have European football next season and hopefully in the champions league, would Sturridge bE willing to move on as he is on great money at LFC and would find it hard to get as much elsewhere given his injury record?

It would be unlikely that another Champions league team would come in for him.

I have heard that he is not money orientated and wants to play regularly but at the end of the day business is business.

Apparently he is great with the younger lads around the club so maybe it might be that he stays.

I hope he does as he would be a great impact player in the champions league. (Hopefully)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is difficult for Klopp and the coaches to plan for a player who has not been available much of the time. I have no idea what Sturridge wants but he won't play anywhere except CF - which is why he left Chelsea.}

08 May 2017 10:59:01
cheers ed, I would love to get lacazette but can't see Liverpool actually paying the amount needed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It would indeed be a lot of money.}

05 May 2017 10:14:42
I just came by a roumor, that Milner will be reuniting with Rodgers at Newcastle in the summer, when they are back in the PRL. What are the chances that we keep James, especially if we manage to sell Moreno and Lucas, and get Sessegnon and Pereira to cover the backs?

Believable0 Unbelievable10

05 May 2017 10:26:27
Well that would be strange, especially since Rodgers just recently signed a new four or five year contract at Celtic.

05 May 2017 11:22:49
You mean at Celtic? They wouldn't afford his wages!

06 May 2017 12:11:50
Proof if ever needed that to make a rumour up you should definitely get the facts of the rumour right eg clubs, players names, managers names right ha.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 May 2017 18:51:17
Surely it must be Celtic the rumour monger was referring to as sure Milner has never been managed by Rafa, could be wrong but sure I'm not, so how they could be reunited before any uniting is strange beyond belief.

Hi eds,

Do you happen to know who are the priorities for the left back spot for Liverpool? Couldn't find it in search.

Thanks for all the great work👍.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - as has been said repeatedly, Sessegnon and Tierney, with Pereira, who can play both full back positions as another option there.}

05 May 2017 11:55:35
I really like the look of this Pereira guy. Stats look good too. Definitely an upgrade on Clyne and a teacher for Arnold. Here's hoping!
