hear a whisper that Liverpool will make a move for philipp hosiner. eds can you shed any light on this? {Ed002's Note - Austria Wien's Philipp Hosiner is still looking to the EPL for a club to take him. A deal with Ajax fell through and interest from Lazio and Bologna is being shunned for now.}

Hello Ed002,

I know you may not be able to answer this now as I believe you said you would be on the road.

Couple of quick questions if you don't mind, and when you have the time.

1) You mentioned Andy Carroll to Inter Milan might possibly have some legs, but I guess he is now certain to join West Ham?

2) You also mentioned that Mkhitaryan (Mickey) could be offered to an English club couple of days back, did that happen? Has there been any news on the Mickey deal?

Thanks,

The real AG {Ed002's Note - I had someone check on the link with Inter and it was nothing. There is no agreement with him to join WHU yet. Whilst we know of Liverpool's interest in Mkhitaryan it is clear other options are being considered whilst there is no deal. He has been offered to another English club in the past 24 hours as anticipated, but they are not interested in him.}

Believable25 Unbelievable6

Is it known which English club he was offered to? {Ed002's Note - Yes but it is unimportant - they are not interested.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I recall one of the Eds saying he had his heart set on a move to London. Was it Chelsea or Arsenal he was offered to?

Pk {Ed002's Note - I said it was his preference.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, what are the other options you mentioned? {Ed002's Note - Other clubs obviously. Whilst there is no deal in place they have to consider who might want to buy the player and pay the substantial representation fees that will go with him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002. I recall a previous answer you gave regarding this player with the quote "seems like a bit of a flake to me". Was yhis in refeence to his wages or maybe the way he is being touted by his agent to get clubs interested or maybe something else you might want to share? Cheers.

The Irish Rover {Ed002's Note - He seems to value his skills and services to other clubs, ideally Real Madrid or Barcelona, at a very high level financially - which is why he has the interest in England. He has the services of an agent who will likely seek a good return for himself and some complex clauses to be built in to any contract.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed2 what other options are being considered besides benteke? {Ed002's Note - You misunderstood what was being discussed.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed002! Keeping in mind all these complexities, that is, his attitude in demanding high wages, representation fees, clauses in contract, and ofcourse a very high transfer fee, do you think it is wise to go with Mickey?

I certainly think he is too much of a 'gamble' and we should try for Eriksen, even though he himself is acting like Hazard was last summer, and convincing him might be difficult.

The real AG {Ed002's Note - No one doubts that he is a decent player, but I think the fee is high (which is the reason why there are no other takers right now).}

Agree0 Disagree0

His ability and stats are a little inflated playing against far inferior opposition in Ukraine. A fair few of his goals last season could be put down to woeful defending that wouldn't be a regular occurrence in the PL. He is also extremely lightweight, goes over with the slightest touch and would be classed a chronic "diver" in England. With his chattiness in the press, his inflated valuation, and his "super agent" Mino Raiola, I'd take a pass on this one.

Eds, the echo is reporting that the mkhitaryan deal is in place but will only sanction the deal if Suarez leaves, but I thought that wasn't the case?
Cheers! {Ed002's Note - I can assure you that there is no deal "in place" right now.}

If it's in the echo I'm sure it's more accurate than the knowledge from a rumours site. {Ed002's Note - Why would that be? I have confirmed Liverpool's interest and told you that as of last night there was "no deal in place" - but you wish to anonymously bitch about that. If the "Echo" say a deal is already done why was the player offered to another side yesterday? Did the "Echo" say at what time this afternoon the announcement will be made?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't listen to them Ed. The echo actually just said that we will go for Mikhi only if Suarez left. They did not report anything about a deal being in place. {Ed002's Note - That seems more like it. Thanks.}

Agree0 Disagree0

With regard to this player I am sure the Ed's know their stuff, give the guys a break, they're providing an interesting insight and service to all who want to know the in's and the out's at LFC.

Big John (Now growing a beard) {Ed002's Note - Facial hair can be a lot of fun John.}

{Ed002's Note - Facial hair can be a lot of fun John. }. so my wife tells me, so I thought I'd match hers. We already wear matching clothes. I might as well match her beard as well. Love is more than just stubble Ed. All the best, mate.

Big John.

OP has a lot to learn about life. Even in my mature years I have learnt that matters concerning LFC are more correctly reported on here by the Editors than the entire Corporate News world put together. Sounds banal doesn't it? But very true.

hi eds if reina was to stay do you think lfc could still buy another keeper to offer him some competition? I think his performances over the last few seasons has dropped but I think the problem is he has become complacent as he knows if he is fit he will play. surely with competition he will work harder {Ed001's Note - there is a search for a keeper whether he stays or goes. I am not sure whether it is to be competition or back up though, difficult to tell.}

Believable11 Unbelievable14

Mignolet for competition or to replace him if he joins Barcelona.

Jason Steele for a back up.

Agree0 Disagree0

The issue we have is not Reina but back up. Jones has done well but he is not a top class goal keeper. JAD YNWA

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to get mingolet better and will be cheaper than begovic in my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

You can say Jones isn't world class but he's good for a back up keeper. No world class player is going to want to sit on the bench for us

I see we are favourites to sign centre half Alex Pearce from Reading on a free transfer, yes Alex Pearce. Saw him a few times last season, not good enough, championship player at best. We need quality signings.

Believable39 Unbelievable55

Why would we want to take on a centre half who could not get his game at Reading and they were relegated to the championship?

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunately that seems to be all we can afford at the moment. Freebies, past it and potential

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if it helps he has been pictured with Ayre a few weeks ago its, don't know if that means we will sign him or not

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant agree more with you mate, don't want him at all, might e good for them but for Liverpool he's no good!

Agree0 Disagree0

On a free, low wages, probably sell him on for a couple of million if it doesn't work out. And he won't be first choice.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Alex Pearce will NOT be joining Liverpool.

Agree0 Disagree0

He wasn't being picked because of his contract situation not because of his form

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought the club had already said they have no interest in him.
CR

Agree0 Disagree0

It's called planning for the future!

Agree0 Disagree0

Much better player than Coates- how much did he cost?

Plus if he would of played every game at reading they def would not of let so many in, but not good enough for Liverpool neither is TOURE

Agree0 Disagree0

Not every player in your team has to be world class look at johnny Evans for example on his own you wouldn't say he was world class yet he does a job for united and has help win titles but he is far from world class but he is a decent player.
Daveylivercabs

Agree0 Disagree0

Gary Ablett R. I. P wasn't the greatest, nor was Joey Jones. But they both played their parts in great teams. He will be cover for Agger in the physical games. He won't be bullied and his very dominant in the air. If he comes he should be made welcome.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seen him play several time 'live' and happen to think he will be a good signing (if it happens), especially on a free - Big lad, quite quick and very strong - just what we have been missing against the likes of Stoke etc. Only a squad player, but that's what we need, a stronger squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

And I bet Brenden worked with him at Reading. Wonder if he's 5ft 6"?

Hey Eds, great work and thanks for all the times you guys respond. We all appreciate it.
Anyhow, bit of a rumour from Madrid is that they prefer Isco and Bale over Suarez and Bale. Have you heard anything similar and would this leave Suarez with a bit of egg on his face after courting Madrid. I know other clubs are interested but his ego would take a kick.
Would Mata be of interest to us if Chelsea are serious about selling him? Think we looked at him back in the day and he's now proven in the premier.
One last one, is Johnson possibly heading back to London? Heard that he may be moving on.
Cheers
Paulo {Ed001's Note - no, yes but we are not getting him, I don't know of any interest in him from London at the moment.}

Believable6 Unbelievable30

Chelsea selling Mata? Where did you pull that one from? There are some deluded persons on this page.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha! That'd make me laugh if Madrid told Suarez to do one. can't see it though, and probably wouldn't be good for Liverpool as we need a bit of a bidding war between the top clubs for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

As a chelsea fan I was pissing myself reading this. why in gods great earth would Juan Mata go to Liverpool?

have a word with urself mate.

I heard Johnson might be off to Spain this summer. He was supposed to go last summer apparently.

I think the reason mata rumours are flying, its because mourinho doesn't play attacking footy neither will play oscar, mata. hazzard in same line up, he is a very defensive coach who likes solid players instead of flair, and will play completley different systeam where players like mata, hazzard oscar etc might not like the way they will be used, again might bring his own players where the likes of mata, hazzard etc be down the pecking order
