Hello Eds. Who do you think or who would you like Liverpool to sign to help shore the problems we have at the back being as realistic as possible thanks eds.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Stefan de Vrij could yet be a good January option and Benedikt Howedes might be another if Juventus don't take up their option - and they could potentially let him go in January. I am expecting Perr Schuurs to join at 18 - not first team right away but one you may see as part of the squad reasonably early on.}

06 Nov 2017 16:02:23
Howedes would be a great signing imo ed.

06 Nov 2017 16:41:49
Either of those would be a potentially good signing in my opinion.

De Vrij for me.

I know it's off subject but isn't Nathaniel clynes injury a bit weird I don't even think he is injured, wid eds saying we want too get rid of him an obviously klopp must want rid, seems strange he got such a longstanding back prob.

I imagine there is something going behind the scenes with Clyne atm Hailstones, probably best not to talk about it/ him until we know the facts!
Perr Shuurs is a new name to me also but any acquisition would be welcome!

Is howedes getting games for juventus, they don't seem as hot in series A this season, Lazio are flying though with de vrijs an Lucas leica.

Hi eds, how about Jemerson and Kamil Glik from Monaco? Both CB are highly regarded in Ligue1. They have 1.88m Terrence Kongolo too.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - These are simply random names - not players Liverpool has any interest in.}

06 Nov 2017 13:40:09
ED1 do you see coutinho playiplaying for us again this season, or has he burned his last bridge if he starts for Brazil.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - it really depends, right now we are playing better without him so he is out. I expect him to leave in January, so I don't expect him to appear for us again. However a lot can change quickly.}

06 Nov 2017 14:52:53
we should put him on the subs bench for a couple of games, let him see that we can and will play great football without him .

06 Nov 2017 15:24:02
We have Boby with twinkle toes.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 15:55:32
We have to forget coutinho and can they are both already mentally elsewhere and coutinho is only player for himself and shop window purposes.

This does not help the LFC team as we need people who want to be here and play here, we can live without Coutinho as we have shown already, we need to invest the money well and 1 or 2 defenders will for sure be needed. I don't see a long term future for Migs or Lovren at the club.

Sturridge for all his quality is simply not worth the wage we pay him for the game time we get out of him, wasted talent due to injury.

Firmino is a good player but not an out and out goalscorer.

I would personally look at De Vrij in Jan as a solid option and then if we can resurrect the VVD deal as a pair I'm sure that would be up there with the best partnership in the league and De Vrij would not cost a lot.

This would relegate Matip to the bench and Gomez can continue to cover RB and CB personally ahead of Matip in the rankings.

We all know Ward should be the number 1 and I think the whole support group would love to see him given the remainder of the season to play in goal and sell Migs to whoever is crazy enough to buy him.

I'm sure we can con Newcastle into a deal they normally buy our offloads.

Better performances of late but still not fixed the balance at the back.

In hindsight it seems like letting Coutinho go was the better option but during the summer window we had no idea that Salah would be such a roaring success. I think fans would have gone mental had Coutinho left without a "marquee" signing coming in.

Can is rurning up each game and looks engaged to me.

Agree11 Disagree4

06 Nov 2017 20:34:40
Coutinho should have been sold as he made very clear his intention to go and was not interested in the friendlies.

We were going to get good return and this was an easy decision to make but not sure who vetoed his move. Klopp or owners. No foresight/ hindsight needed as this was well written.

Can is showing to be a good professio al till now but unfortuately does not have the quality to take us to next level. His going will only help other potential players and we should wish him luck.

Cheers.

I said this other week didn't seem too go down that we'll if a players long-term thinking isn't Liverpool an beyond I would rather get rid how can we be a team when other players minds are with another team.

Will Lemaar or Lazini be replacement? Or will Woodburn or Ox step up?

Agree1 Disagree1

07 Nov 2017 08:08:04
I would rather integrate woodburn, ox or grujic than give the other 2 can an coutihno our huge platform that is Liverpool we made them 2 players look how they repaid us.

Hi Eds,

Any interest in Nabil Fekir as a replacement for Couts?

Thanks in advance.

D16Red.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I wish, but not for a January move at least.}

06 Nov 2017 12:58:06
That's a good shout for a potential replacement, Taison from Shakhtar would also be a good one.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 13:58:37
Ed I am not going to ask who as that has already been explained but do you think we will at least try to replace him in January?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - try, yes.}

06 Nov 2017 19:07:22
Draxler might b on the cards, wat about lanzini is he worth it.

Agree2 Disagree1

06 Nov 2017 19:59:36
We have not shown any interest in Draxler so far but he would be a decent addition imo. Not sure if he be available though.

06 Nov 2017 22:50:17
I don't think he getting consistent run of games young lad like him should be playing maturing as a player progressing.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 18:20:39
Could you see ante coric as his replacement ed001 and would he be first team ready or even play a similar position. Haven't seen a lot of him to be honest but from what I've seen he looks a star in the making.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, as far as I am aware I have not see him play.}

06 Nov 2017 09:26:06
I'm guessing it's a load of nonsense but rumour this morning saying we are going in for David Silva?

I suppose it's that time of the year again, we're linked to every player under the sun!

Believable4 Unbelievable3

06 Nov 2017 10:20:38
And we’ll get laughed at.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 10:49:12
He is one player I’d love to see us sign. Even at 31 he’s still got loads left in him.

Agree7 Disagree1

06 Nov 2017 11:12:45
Me too Mr Dennis - I just can't see it happening mate.

Agree5 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 11:44:20
He’s a long way past his best how he got MOTM at the weekend he’s night and day compared to de bruyne he’s constantly over playing and more surprisingly he gave the ball away a lot and wasted possession also. Isn’t half the player he was 5 years ago he’s not in the same league as de bruyne or coutinho or erikson.

Agree0 Disagree14

{Ed001's Note - are you getting mixed up with someone else? If Couts was half the player Silva was we woould have won the league last season.}

06 Nov 2017 12:28:14
I really think silva is past it by a good few years there’s no end product with him he only scores tap ins because he’s always over playing and he’s not scoring many when he’s an attacking midfielder in a team that seems head and shoulders above the rest. I really don’t get how he’s still being talked about as if he’s still he player he was at his peak.

Agree1 Disagree5

{Ed001's Note - are you sure you are watching David Silva and not some other Silva? He doesn't score many because that is not his role, he is the creator of the goals. I don't see how scoring a tap in means he is overplaying, that has absolutely no bearing on anything other than meaning he is in the right place to tap it in. Silva is still the central figure in everything Citeh do.}

06 Nov 2017 12:57:30
David Silva is still one of the best players in the prem imo. He is one of the few players that I think could walk into any team and immediately improve their first team!

I would take him in a heartbeat

Red Sandman.

Agree8 Disagree2

06 Nov 2017 13:20:04
Jezza have you even seen him play mate? Not trying to be insulting or anything but it seems you have no idea if you think he is past it, he's absolutely outstanding mate.

RS - I agree, imagine him, Salah, Mane and Firmino, it'd be a brutal force nobody would want to go against. Give me Silva in front of Coutinho any day. Though again I can't for the life of me see it happening, just interesting to be linked to him.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 13:21:37
Would walk into any team in Europe. FACT. He may be the wrong side of 30 but age is just a number, if he relied on pace in the past and lost a yard then fair enough but the guy is total football and a different type of player to KDB so the comparison is pointless! Still the main man at Citeh IMO that’s why us (or anyone else) would get laughed at trying to sign him. A proper Pep style player.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 16:25:40
David Silva is still soooo good! IMO, he is the piece Barcelona has been missing and need pulling the strings in their midfield. They should have looked to him when Xavi called it quits.

06 Nov 2017 21:09:59
We have more chance of long John.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Nov 2017 05:56:08
Not sure he'd leave a side playing the best football in Europe and almost nailed on for the title already to come and fight for top 4. would need a big wage too. Would be awesome to see him at Anfield though!
