Hi ed, is there any interest in doumbia, mario gomez or higuin thankso {Ed001's Note - not much, yes but no chance of him moving, yes if he were to become available.}

07 Dec 2011 22:55:42
Ed any chance of signing one of Shakhtar Donetsk's Brazilian wingers? {Ed001's Note - no idea, sorry.}

07 Dec 2011 23:13:53
Ed do you have any information on deigo Godin and do u think he would be a could buy? I read that us, arsenal and Chelsea have contacted his agent and tbh I would say we would be leading the race already having Luis Saurez and Coates

LFCHero :) {Ed001's Note - I know we looked at him last season, with a view to picking him up last January, but the Torres situation put paid to any moves for defenders. I doubt we would move for him, unless he makes it plain he would like the move. It would come down to him wanting to join us and so keeping the price down and agreeing to play for a reasonable wage. We won't offer as much as the London clubs will any more.}

07 Dec 2011 22:20:19
Ed any chance we could tempt villareal into selling rossi
{Ed001's Note - you do realise he is out for the season with a cruciate ligament injury don't you?}

@Ed001, Wouldn't be the first time, remember we bought Aquilani injured and Carroll. So it could be a possibility if the money was there.... {Ed001's Note - not with a cruciate ligament injury! It is no possibility whatsoever, don't talk soft la.}

Surely you would get him for about £5mil in his current state ? ;-) {Ed002's Note - I really doubt it is an option.}

Hi Eds and all,

Watching Shaqiri (speaking!) for Basel, a class act and would shine in EPL - would shoe better in Liverpool shirt. Anyone got an opinion? Eds, what are the chances in the near future for him?

Thanks

Bazzaa {Ed001's Note - I was wondering how long till I got this question asked, again. As has been said thousands of times now, there is little chance, Roy was desperate to sign him but didn't have the funds, we dropped our interest afterwards due to his high price and the number of interested parties. Added to his lack of interest in playing for us, it just doesn't represent a good deal for Liverpool.}

Think your right mate,but surely some of the bigger boys in europe would seem more appealing to him,hope im wrong,he's quality :)

Yup, was thinking the same thing>>> Great player.

dd c

He is the type of player we need surely he would rather play for us than basel he is too good for them, he does unbelivable skills and then passes it to a load of rubbish. He is the heartbeat of basel and is only about 20 so he has got talent and potential would be a great buy

Plus, he is a greedy b**tard.

I really do think he's over rated

Square tomato

hey eds any interest in sotiris ninis ? {Ed001's Note - not that I know of.}

He is out Injured at the moment but he hasnt resigned a contract, so he will be a Free Transfer in the summer. He is quick, got a good shot and an exelent passer (Long or Short) with good Vision. But he plays in a easier league at the moment so we dont know how good he really is. He has played Good for his country and in the Champions League/Europa League so that shows he could play at a top level, but I would sign him for Free...

07 Dec 2011 18:33:53
would love to see nando back, could it happen ed? {Ed001's Note - not going to happen thankfully.}

I would love to see this. We lack a finisher. Torres was looking good in January with Kenny's more attacking style. All would be forgiven when Torres starts turning our match domination into goals and three points.

Hate to say this but we miss him and need him back everyone makes mistakes .ynwa

Put the Torres we all knew in the team against Fulham and thats a 2nil win. Put the Torres everybody knows now in the team and we still get beat.

The question though is...would he have a renaissance if he came back? Many players have.

We lack a finisher and we could get Lukas Poldoski or Moussa Sow for less then Nando. I actually still like Nando and would welcome him back with open arms but I also live in reality, Chelsea will not be happy with a loss of 25 million in 1 year.

Thankfully is exactly right!

The man pushed and shoved to get himself out of our club, why would anyone want him back?

Whoever said thankfully knows nothing about football. Broken promises forced him out, Reina wanted to leave but thankfully no-one came in to buy him otherwise he would of gone. He wants to come back you can see it in his game. If you wouldnt have him back to socre goals than you dont have a clue. Because suarez is just wasteing his career by getting banned and carroll is gunna be good but is not a goal scorer

07 Dec 2011 18:26:58
Ed do you see any chance of us signing a very good player (eg suarez last year) in jan? I mean someone of the ilk of lavezzi or benzema etc {Ed001's Note - possibly, depends on your idea of very good....}

There's rumours of a really good scottish player...called Kenny Miller. Yes, I am joking.

07 Dec 2011 18:25:12
Ed some journalists (very reliable) on twitter have said that reus has agreed to go to bayern already but for the summer. Is that true? {Ed001's Note - it has always been the most likely happening.}

That's were he's expected to go, but he has to understand he would be behind Robben and Ribery in the pecking order.

07 Dec 2011 17:22:01
Forget the Anelka rumours, hes off to Shanghai Shenhua in January

stop playing Carroll and bring back AQUALINI that guy is class and were missing in midfield spurs have modric man city Silvia/ AQUALINI see,s a pass creative and can score.
Whats wrong with Dalglish, Henderson is crap and so is that donkey Carroll {Ed002's Note - Never going to happen.}

I agree we need a player that can spot a pass an aqualini can do that

That boat has well and truely sailed. I do rate the player though, always have. him not coming back might have something to do with idiots saying he was crap while he played for us... just a though.

Dalgleish has announced that aquilani will never play for reds again

Good player but has he ever wanted to play for Liverpool? Also didn't Kenny say calling him back would be breaking some contract rule. Getting sick of this player being mentioned. Not a team player and really never has been a Liverpool player in my view.
ChinUp.

Can people stop talking about AQUALINI the man does not want to be at liverpool so please get over it and Carroll will come good and you'll be eating your words just like you where with Lucus (sorry ED's they just go on an on about the same things like a bunch of goldfish)
bigfluppy

What the hell has everyone got against Henderson!

Another armchair supporter with no knowledge of our club whatsoever.

Aquilani = Midfielder
Carroll = Striker

Do you get it? Or will I have to draw up a diagram. All you're doing is dragging Carroll into an arguement that has nothing to do with him and then launching attack on Henderson - who has been great so far this season and was probably our best player against Fulham.

Martin

What club do you pull for, mate? Obviously not Liverpool. Don't insult Hendo, Carroll, and especially not Dalglish like that, you have no idea what you're talking about. Aquilani wants to be in Italy, it's not really a matter of whether or not Dalglish wants to bring him back.

Henderson was one of Liverpool's best players on Monday - he's got pace and nearly scored. He will get better and better. Carroll will come good.

Didnt really rate aquaman and dont rate carroll, dont want to sound bad, but has just not the sort of player i would want to see at liverpool, think hendo was a good signing, little too high transfer fee but thats the fee you have to pay for a quality british player, but just need time and confidence and then i think he will shine.
lfclegend

Martin you havnt got a clue mate , if you drop carrol you put 3 in the centre midfield position , hence the need for another centre midfielder

Aqulani: Never wanted since Rafa left, all I rember was the last 6-7 games of the season when he was fit he scored 3 Goals and 4 assists in that time, Roy came in and got Poulsen and Merieles and Kenny got Adan and Hendo. (also he obviously did want to play in England or he would not have signed a 5 year contract to begin with) - He is not comming back!

Henderson: I rate him and he has plenty of potential but should only be a squad player for now. He will come good and be a great CM player in about 2 years.

Carrol: He is strong and a good header, got a good left foot for power shots aswell, but slow and not moblie and cant play the passing game we are trying to do, he is young but the things he needs to improve to be better for us will never come simply becuase of his size! But he can be a tactical sub player (when we need strength) but a starter would be unlikely unless we change oyur style of play.

I'm glad the editor let this previous post on the board. It simply states that the fella slagging everyone off must be yearning to switch sides to Manchester (depending on who"s top of the league) and he has no knowledge of football and really should ask his parents permission when going on line.

Seen that LFC are along with Swansea monitoring Rory Donnelly of Cliftonville (ed you say you know nothing about him, i'll give you some info) I am a Cliftonville Supporter here in Belfast and have been for 23 yrs. The lad is 19 as raw as you'll get and lightning quick. A very unorthodox striker has scored with left, right legs and lots with the head. He has hit a few hat tricks this season his tally is 17 goals. His latest hat trick was saturday and he got it after only 18 minutes of the match. Basically he is outstanding prospect, with bags of potential ( I know we've seen and heard of players like that many times) the only way we'll find out if he can make the huge step up in class is to give him the chance. The Irish League can and has provided to the top English League on numerous occassions lets wait and find out if he can (if he does, lets hope we benefit from it)
Phil (Belfast)

{Ed002's Note - Thanks for the update Phil.}

He sounds decent. Where did Seamus Coleman come from?

DaveyBootle

Why are the irish fans so desperate to see an irish player sign for us? I'm sure any welsh, or scottish fans dont think the same.

Does it really matter where a player is from as long as he is good enough to play for the club? Perhaps you would prefer an all English setup at LFC. FYI there has always been the saying that Liverpool are strongest when Scotish players are in the team. So naturally Scottish based supporters want Scots at the club.

Why would it matter which country the player is from? All I care about is his ability. I'm sure a trial with our young lads would give us an idea on how good he is.

Coleman came from the League of Ireland (Sligo Rovers) Donnelly plays North of the Border

Phil

What's wrong with wanting an Irish player there? It's great to see a fellow countryman succeed at the highest level and if an Irish player were to move to Liverpool then that would be the highest level possible! Also seeing as Adam and Wilson are there I'm sure the Scots are happy to see that as are the Welsh with regard to Bellamy.
Lastly, need I remind you of how central a number of Irish players were to Liverpool's success in the past?

LFC have a long and proud tradition of outstanding Scottish and Irish players who have done wonders for the success of the club, so of course any Scottish or Irish based fans would love to see their countrymen in the red shirt.
I'm a scouser, but I'm made up to see Charlie Adam and Bellamy in the side, and in any case one's country is irrelevant- what matters is whether the player wants to commit to LFC for the long haul, take the club to their heart, and give their all for the fans and the club, as Shanks used to insist on them doing.

Not being rude but when was the last time the irish league produced a top player. I was having this discussion the other day and the best we could muster is michael hughes in recent years. Several players have torn up the irish league only to fail, thompson, feeney, I can't see this lad being any different.

Re last post;
name how many outstanding players that have come from Finland? Perhaps the names Sami and Jari have slipped your mind. Geography does not equate to talent. George Best and Pat Jennings were not that bad really as players were they? Until the lad gets a chance to play at the level we will never know if he is capable of being good enough for Liverpool. If it doesn't work out for him at least the cost of the transfer will not have been detrimental to any budgets. You are not being rude granted, but you are being a little blinkered in your view of where talent is available. Perhaps you also believe the club to be flawed when looking into the American and Asian markets for emerging players.

Henderson is crapped? He had a 94% passing completion last game, and that goal he almost had would of been one of the best of the season had it gone in he did everything right other than the finish being barely to the right off the pst instead of still beating the keeper and sneaking it in far post after beating 3 defenders.

right boys make of this want you want but i recieved a call today from a person who works for barclaycard and also does some sort of account work for liverpool . he is 100% sure torres is returning in jan on loan if they can gaurentee a perminent move in close season . after the call i made another fone call myself an was told by one of the spirit of shankly group that this was the case but the fee would or could be a stumbling block. personally do you think he would be welcomed back .and we all know its common knowlrdge that his wife cant settle in london and misses the friends she made in liverpool

im not saying this is true ,im just passing on what ive heard plz reply to this plz ed i would like to know your thoughts ty {Ed002's Note - I have no real thoughts on the subject at all. Obviously if Liverpool were to make a suitable offer to Chelsea and the player wanted the move then it could happen. Seems unlikely.}

I would live this to happen. Yes he left under a cloud but he Is still one of best finishers in the world, despite his current off spell. I know his last season wasn't his best and he didn't look like he wanted to be at Liverpool but would you have with the cowboys in charge and all you best team
Mates being sold?
Not since fowler have we had such a natural finisher, if he does return, and personally think its unlikely, he will soon be accepted when he starts banging them in again.
Just my thoughts.
Andy the red

I want back torres and i know that people don't know the truth...so the fans have to welcome fernando

If what's been said about him being a bit of a loner and not really friendly with many of the players, do you really think they'd be particularly chuffed about him coming back after forcing through a transfer last year? If he's not happy at Chelsea and it's affecting his performance, he'd be even worse here if no-one was talking to him and some of the fans got on his back. He's not coming back, but fair play, that was quite an elaborate rumour!

Rugby Parker

There's only 1 place Torres will go where he and his family will be happy and that's back to Spain

Would love this to happen,it's plain to see he hates it there at chelsea and he listened to some bad advisors who for money wanted the move,I could forgive him and him and Suarez playing together is a brilliant pairing cheers pk

We may forgive him but he will forgive the fans burning his shirt (even though he deserved it)

Why would anyone want him back? He clearly didn't want the club so why would the club want him? We are better than that, we don't need people like him at Liverpool FC!

Oh so the club now discuss transfer policy in advance with Barclaycard and Spirit of Shankly grow up and get a life possibly one of the most moronic posts to date'
Derek

Strange how a few weeks ago he commented the fans didn't know the truth about him going and implied he was sold, heard the same thing that his wife isn't happy in London and didn't want to leave in the first place

Considering Chelsea will be losing Drogba, Anelka and Kalou, you think that Torres will be allowed to go?

The only place Torres will be going, and likely staying, is spain, he could have it pretty ham and cheesy back home after 2 rough seasons in the Prem

I maybe get shot for this nut tevez on loan for the rest of he season will a view to a deal would be good in jan. We need someone who knows where the goal is. In no ac are interested and don't want a loan but might if there's a deal at the end of it. - pops {Ed002's Note - It is simply not an option.}

Ed we need a striker who would you say is the likely option? Pops {Ed002's Note - I really don't know. Luuk De Yong remains an option. Perhaps after all of Dalglish's failures (fans words not mine) perhaps Comolli will get his focus on Moussa Sow or someone of his ilk.}

Hi Ed
Seen afew article's today linking us with Loic Remy of Marsielle, personally i think it would a great signing, but probably wouldn't happen, can you shed any light on this? {Ed002's Note - Remy is available but as of Novemeber 29 there have been no approaches to Marseille regarding the player.}

Question ed,

Why is he available so soon after moving? Does he have attitude issues? Performance? Just curious.

Rewflo {Ed001's Note - bit of both I was told, but Ed002 might have more to add on it.}

I think he would be an excellent attacking option for the team. Him partnering suarez might produce some great things but for some reason i cant see him moving to lfc {Ed001's Note - in what way is he 'excellent'? Did you mean average?}

07 Dec 2011 15:31:01
£30m age 30 good finishing is his habit, very much active striker David Villa. £35m age 22 Goal what is that ? God know when he score, and his movement is Lazy Andy Carroll. Jersey sealing did anyone buy Carroll jersey this day. Villa's jersey will be hot cake in the whole world. Hope Ed post it, as at least 1 Ed don't like Villa join us.

{Ed002's Note - Firstly Liverpool do not get any income from selling jerseys. Telling you the truth is nothing to do with not wanting Villa to join, it is a simple situation where I cannot see FSG endorsing such a purchase, even if they had the money to make it. If Villa joins in January for anything like that money, it is quite possibly one last throw of the dice for either Dalglish or the owners. Your constant complaints and abuse of editors is why your posts get deleted automatically. Until you stop that your posts will continue to be deleted however much effort you spend on them.}

Are you stating as a fact that FSG do not have the money to sign players? i agree that a move for Villa will not happen. {Ed002's Note - Of course I did not say anything of the sort. FSG do not have the money to throw around at players in January to the level many of the fans expect and spending more than £30M on a 30 year old who has never wanted to play outside of his homeland does not strike me as a viable option. They will no doubt provide some financial support to fill any gaps left by players leaving, for injured players where there is not depth in the squad and for any major shortcomings. What I somehow doubt you will see is a massive spending spree.}

Clubs don't get any money from selling jerseys? Wow, I did not know that. I figured that was the whole reason clubs like the Galaxy were signing players like Beckham. I guess you learn something new every day.

Yes they do get money from shirt sales

Well you have the power to delete ED002. but its not abuse just a complain, that at least 5 post been post for Villa and none of them posted. about jersey I have read an article C. Ronaldo get 15% of his jersey money. and Real do get some % as that is the reason Real bought superstar. I also read once Florentine Perez says we can recover money from merchandise. any way not sure about it ED accept your word as I believe you guys know more then us. {Ed001's Note - read what he said, Liverpool do not get a percentage of shirt sales, unless those shirts are sold in the club shop, then we get the merchant's cut of the sale. Otherwise, we get a flat fee per year, no sales percentage since we left Reebok.}

Any way not sure about it ED, accept your word as I believe you guys know more then us.

ED 001 U MUST READ MY COMMENTS TOO.

Sure some of these people just play football manager and constantly post crap. Idiots, I bought Messi on it , buy him, buy him. Good work Eds

Hi Ed, I've just read an article in which Diego Godin's agent says that he has spoken a little to Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, but 'real' negotiations haven't started. Do you know if there's any truth in this or do you think he's just trying to 'advertise' his client a bit. {Ed002's Note - There have been general enquiries made over recent months. It is likely that Liverpool's interest pre-dates the arrival of Coates and that Chelsea's interest is from a while back. Chelsea and Arsenal could still be interested, as both are in need of a centre back, although Cahill his a more likely target for both with Chelsea looking at Benatia as an option as well.}

07 Dec 2011 13:50:09
Hi ed keep hearing rumours of David villa, is there any truth in this at all, have we even been watching him? Because due to the price and wages I would find this very difficult to believe, thanks ed {Ed002's Note - David Villa would cost perhaps £30M or so - a lot for a 30 year old an his wages would be very high. He has never wanted to play outside of Spain. Makes little sense to me so I think it is very unlikely.}

07 Dec 2011 12:14:29
hi eds
is gaston ramirez coming to liverpool ?
is he a good player?
pragyan {Ed002's Note - Please read the other posts. This has been answered this morning - again.}

07 Dec 2011 11:59:57
Hi eds,
is Chelsea really leading the race for Eduardo Vargas? {Ed002's Note - I am not sure it is possible to say that anyone is leading any race for Eduardo Vargas, but there is a very good chance he will move in January. But with interest from Italy and serious interest from Inter I suspect England a less likely destination than Italy or Russia. Certainly there has been interest from Italian and English clubs (Liverpool, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Palermo and probably others) but there are concerns from the English clubs as to whether or not he will be able to obtain international clearance immediately. If he were to move and go on loan, then the club is taking a risk that he continues to play competitive internationals for his country. Chelsea have discussed the player with his club.}

07 Dec 2011 11:26:47
Liverpool face a battle with Swansea to sign teenage Cliftonville in Northern Ireland striker Rory Donnelly

is he any good ed {Ed002's Note - I know absolutely nothing of him at all. Sorry.}

07 Dec 2011 11:26:20
who are the most likely players to sign in january if anyone ??

I would say Cardozo of Benfica

07 Dec 2011 10:20:40
Ed is there any interest of Santiago of Marseille, looked a cracking player in Next Gen Series.

KT! {Ed002's Note - No.}

Thanks Ed.
Marseille have a real good bunch of youngsters, ant prem clubs whatsoever sniffing around them?

KT! {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware. Marseille have afirst team player who is attracting interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona in Azpilicueta and they have a couple of players who would be for sale at the right price.}

07 Dec 2011 10:19:17
Hey Ed heard that QPR willing to let Tarrabt go, do we have a any interest oin the lad.

Oll {Ed002's Note - None that I am aware of.}

07 Dec 2011 10:05:56
hi ed how abt the news that linked kalou to anfield wats the update. {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any Liverpool interest in Kalou.}

Do you lot actually want him?
He's been called 'not a' kalou & kalou less

07 Dec 2011 00:45:55
Is it true that we are in for ocampos and Vargas?

We should make a bid for Ocampos at least. Before Chelsea snatch him.

07 Dec 2011 00:21:10
Hi ed's, is this fresh rumour about Steven Gerrard becoming ill true? Secondly, Macca appears to know otherwise and so basically what I am getting at is, is there a new setback keeping him on the sidelines for even longer?

LG. {Ed001's Note - I don't know of any fresh setback, just that his return isn't as imminent as was hoped is what I was told.}

06 Dec 2011 23:55:39
Hi eds what are the chances of us signing adebayor?????
