Did a search and the last post was on 17th December so I was just wondering if the reports today that Liverpool want Xhaka have any substance? £37m seems a bit steep for a red card waiting to happen. Great player when he's not banned though.

{Ed002's Note - Granit Xhaka signed a new long-term contract but there is interest from Napoli, Atletico Madrid and Inter. If he were to become available, interest from England may arise. Previous interest from Stoke and Everton is gone. Newcastle, Valencia, Manchester City, Spurs, Napoli and Arsenal have scouted the player this season and any would likely continue that interest with a bid if he were available. I can completely discount Inter at this time and although interested Atletico are needing to plan very carefully knowing that they have a significant issue on the horizon. Whilst the summer seems a more likely time for a move but Napoli will continue to push for a January move.

Perhaps it is his brother Taulant there is interest in - he will be moving this month.}

Does the Atletico issue have anything to do with the possible departure of Diego?

Cheers Ed. And Taulant is an equally good player to be fair but I think he also has discipline issues. 2 brothers, half a season, 5 red cards!

Not so much a rumour but seen this on the Internet . Jerome Sinclair staying at Liverpool rejecting a move to Spain how true is this as the kid needs games at a higher level other than u21 to reach his potential as he could be a decent player.

Also while your there Eds is it the plan of the club to promote the youngsters during this injury laden time rather than buy . I hope so because at our current state I don't think buying is the answer if we are to buy the right people surel the summer is the window klopp will target

I think that the sooner we off Jerome Sinclair the better. If we could sell him in January that would be beneficial to all parties as his career seems stalled at present. He is not getting near the first team and is actively seeking a move as well as he is now signed to Aidy Ward. I am not sure whether or not Ward has a problem with us as a club or if it is with Brendan Rodgers though. I get the feeling that we would rather not deal with AW. I like JS but cannot see him getting a game for us next season as he will at least fourth choice striker after the summer changes.

Ok, I'm guessing I missed something here. I know he refused a new contract, but how is he being disruptive? I haven't seen or heard anything on here or any of the mainstream media sites myself.

Did Lyon actually accept an offer for him? If they didn't then it wasn't really him that rejected them was it, although I think he would.

Lyon haven't accepted a bid and the eds say he would most likely not be very keen on a move there, newcastle are looking to make a second bid which because lyon are hard to deal with, will most likely be rejected as well. Source ed002 (newcastle page)

Good bit of looking for the answer yourself there mate. don't know many, including myself, who go on other teams pages to find the answers. I tip my hat to you. I will try and do that instead of pestering the eds jn the future.
