evening ed's from what i am seeing we are screaming out for a young talented goal scorer would André Schürrle be a viable target looks like a great prospect to me and would he be in our price range

darlored

Y.N.W.A {Ed001's Note - I don't know anything about him sorry. I have heard the name but that is as far as it goes, Leverkusen isn't he?}

Yeah he is mate got a few mates over in germany in the army they they are saying great things about him {Ed001's Note - I will ask around, I know we have been very actively scouting in Germany, but it is difficult to tell who is being scouted early on.}

Eds do u think that berbatov would be a good signing (free in summer) he could be the goal scorer we need, he def knows where the net is. Rugby red {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath for Berbatov. I guess I will be trashed for this for being anti- Liverpool again.}

Would rather nothing than berbatov, we were all over united before and even they didnt play him. he doesnt fit in with young policy and he will have high wages, NO CHANCE!

Manno

No 'trash' coming your way Ed2 ... Berba? We say NO.

Anything concrete on these Bruno Alves rumours Ed? {Ed002's Note - I guess he must be 30 now and I suspect still pretty expensive, but we have heard nothing at all on this that could give confirmation at this time.}

My buddy who is working out at Sporting Kansas City called me up today telling me that one of their more promising young players, Soony Saad, is going to have a trial at Liverpool in the MLS off-season. Just wanted to check to see if you heard anything or if this was crap. {Ed001's Note - Ed002 would be the better one to ask about this, I heard his name being touted as a possible for the Prem. I don't know if we have shown any interest though.}

Not trying to be disrespectful or anything but why did Ed001 answer this by saying Ed002 can answer this instead of just allowing Ed002 to answer it? Im not trying to be rude I just think it is weird. {Ed002's Note - Perhaps it was a simple case of Ed002 not being around. There is no hidden story here - or is there? He was a lottery pick a couple of months or sdo back. The MLS would not allow him to be sold now. He could of course come for a trial if KC and the MLS agree.}

Eds, do you know if there is interest in any strikers other than Luuk de Jong? Its obvious that Liverpool just need an established poacher, nothing fancy just someone who can bury half the chances that we create!

Cheers,
L4ever
{Ed001's Note - there is an ongoing search to find the goalscorer we need, there are a number of options being considered. I believe Mertens and Podolski are under consideration, though I have no idea whether they are top targets or just back up options.}

I heard they were going to bid for Higuain although i doubt he's going to come... One other is Paco Alcacer of Valencia, but he seems to be too small (18)... luuk should be an ideal signing, and much better than what we've been buying lately...

In what world would Podolski be a back-up to De Jong? he's good but not that good. We need someone to compete with Carroll, NOW. now. Gomez, Negredo, Podolski, Cavani, someone NOW. and we need an attacking midfielder, ASAP.

Manchester City are prepared to sell winger Adam Johnson if they can conclude a deal for Real Madrid's Angel Di Maria.

Johnson has been a frustrated figure over the last twelve months despite his obvious ability and Liverpool are already known to be waiting in the wings for the 24 year old. A bid was rumoured to having been prepared last summer however Manchester City's reluctance to sell the player meant Liverpool would have to wait.

The chances of City landing Real Madrid's Di Maria are not good, particularly with Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho rating him so highly although it is believed that City could be prepared to offer Carlos Tevez as a straight swap, even if it means having to wait until next summer instead of January where the Eastlands side would prefer to allow Tevez's departure.

Chelsea are also keen on Di Maria but were told last summer that the attacker is not for sale after the West London club made initial enquiries.

How unhappy Johnson is at the moment is difficult to pinpoint and he may decide enough is enough whether Manchester City get Di Maria or not. This would not only force City into looking for an alternative but more worryingly, they could be prepared to offer Johnson out on loan, something the club have been doing recently and something that has worked in their favour with other teams unable to field their "loanees" against City as they battle for a position in the top four.

Liverpool remain the one side who appear the most likely to gain his signature with no real interest from elsewhere despite Tottenham Hotspur keeping tabs on the player.

MJ

A) I thought he had JUST penned a new deal?
b) we keep being told about an attitude problem - do we want someone like that?

Puzzled

I'm a spurs fan, and I have heard absolutely nothing regarding my club and johnson! although I did hear man court want rvp and were willing to throw johnson in as part of any deal?

Well aint that great ... NOT!

Another castoff from someone else.
Were not even the 2nd team in the NorthWest these days... acc to this

Hi eds,
Is Lucas Moura (sau paulo) an option considerd by the coaching staff in is there a realistic chance he will sign in january? {Ed002's Note - Lucas Moura will not be joining in January.}

And in the summer? {Ed002's Note - Not in the summer either.}

Of course he won't ed002 said so!

hey ed tevez ,tevez, love to see him play for liverpool tevez and suarez up front carrol on the bench he would be some player for us because in all fairness we are having trouble scoring at the moment what do ye think lads and ed {Ed002's Note - I have given my opinion on this on many occasions - check out the other posts and use the nifty search function.}

IF we could afford Tevez's fee/wages
WHY would we want someone obviously so full of himself he feels bigger than any club and loyalty only to himself?

Puzzled

Tevez on loan till end of seson would be great. too much trouble signing him though on a perm deal!

we should've had sturridge as part of the torres deal! can't see carrol lasting at anfield.

Hi, is there any chance of getting Ramirez from Bologna? I don't know if he did sign i new contract recently, but he's from Uruguay so that makes the rumours a bit hopeful, and I've watch 3 games this year and he's really good player. {Ed002's Note - I am not as convinced as everyone else that there is real interest from Liverpool. I suspect he will not be available until the summer and a move to Palermo or Juventus is perhaps more likely - although unsubstantiated rumours suggest Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested.}

07 Nov 2011 12:48:56
ED, any chance we would go back in for mario gomez? thanks {Ed001's Note - I doubt he will be available regardless of whether or not we do make any kind of move for him.}

07 Nov 2011 11:57:21
i know he`s just moved to athletico madrid but we could try for radamel falcao everyones crying out for a natural goalscorer and he`s one he would be a bit pricey but worth a shot. {Ed002's Note - It is not going to happen. Sorry.}

We don't need a goalscorer, what we lack is offense mid with passing and vision

Given that we had 25 shots at the weekend, of which only 5 were on target, I think that we do, in fact, need a goalscorer.

Do you know if anybody is lookign at Oliver Grioud. On good form at the moment for Montpellier.

Adzii {Ed002's Note - If Giroud moves I am pretty sure it will be withion France.}

Gary Cahill (18 million) to join Kevin Davies (10 million) and Lee Cattermole (22 million) in Liverpool in January, posted on another www. page. Cahill could be a possiblity but no thanks for the other two

Lol its somebody taking the kiss

Hmmm - Gary Cahill - would be in his last few months of his contract by then, Kevin Davies is now in his 30's and Lee Cattermole is a £10million player at best so yes overall a fair assessment of the money that Liverpool will waste at this moment in time!!

We need gary cahill to take over from carra. this has to be carra'slast season as a first choicedefender. getting too slow and fed-up of the tony adams style booting the ball to the clouds!

Didn't know it was Manc school holidays !

Didnt think manc's went to school!

ed i have another question. what do you think of slovenian goalkeeper samir handanovic and slovenian player josip ilicic? are there any chances to see them in EPL, in the near future? tnx mate

{Ed002's Note - Handanovic could well end up in the EPL and perhaps Spurs are best placed to bring him in, but there is interest from Italy as well. Both Milan clubs have an interest in Ilicic but Juventus are favourites if he does come up for sale this winter. England seems a very unlikely destination.}

hi ed.
any chances for damiao lambreta??
tnx mate

{Ed002's Note - The situation with Damiao has not changed since you asked teh question two minutes ago and I answered.}

Sorry first time on this page, first time asking
wasnt sure if i sended the massage .

With Lambreta and Honda joining, you could have a bike shop.

07 Nov 2011 11:24:28
hi ed. is it true that we are monitoring damiao lambreta ?? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware. Leandro Damiao seems to be of interest to several clubs at the moment not least AC Milan who want him to replace CAssano but need to free up a non EU quota spot to buy him. Spurs apparently have taken another look recently as have Porto and PSG. Over the summer there was also interest from Juve, Roma, Lyon, Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona have shown some interest in the past two months.}

id say that 10 years of service is more than good use from a player these days, floored or flawed. Id sooner have 10 years than no years like we seem to do presently with our youth system. {Ed001's Note - it doesn't work like that, Spearing for instance is not going to give us ten years. But obviously you think you know better than the management.}

I would rather have spearing in the side than henderson , Adams , or Downing the lad can pass , tackle and move he is red through and through the three players I have mentioned would not of got in Houliers sides never mind paisley or shankleys sides Jay Spearing should be in before any of them three

If you think that you should sit a management test and become a manager. It never ceases to amaze me when supporters believe they know better than the manager, after all, liverpool fc is a business, and businesses always survive over 100 years with bad management....

07 Nov 2011 10:23:49
ed any chance of fernando llorente? {Ed001's Note - unlikely, though not impossible.}

07 Nov 2011 08:37:43
Gotez will not join us . sky sports says
Gotze revealed last week that he 'could not rule out anything' regarding his future, stating that he needed to be playing regular UEFA Champions League football.

07 Nov 2011 04:25:48
Ed is there any chance of Liverpool getting Edison cavani since we are so interested in uraguains? {Ed002's Note - I very much doubt it.}

07 Nov 2011 01:03:20
Ed 002, Any Possibility Of A Striker Other Than Luuk De Jong, in summer(Not Because Of Injury) I've Always Liked Higuain
{Ed002's Note - I very much doubt Higuain, but I wonder if Doumbia may be given a look. Perhaps a January move is more likely and perhaps the cost may be prohibitive. A real outside shot for the summer is Uruguayan Santiago Garcia who plays for Brazilian side Paranaense and I am hearing a lot about. Aside from that it is difficult to predict the summer.}

Garcia is probably better than Carroll but not good enough for lfc

So the Doumbia situ may have changed or supposition?

And why does everyone seem to forget that Carroll is only TWENTY TWO. give the lad a chance. He cost 35M right? And is on a 5 year deal - if he fires us to the CL every season then he pays for himself, so honestly I don't care how much he cost.

TSP

Tsp he'd want to start firing soonn though
