Eds, i read a rumour some where that there was a possibilty of some deal involving Kaka? Is that absolute rubbish or should we pay attention to it? Any idea? {Ed005's Note - I wouldn't pay any attention to it mate. His wages are beyond what we'd pay especially for someone his age. Kaka no longer excites me personally - he's past his best and I wouldn't be overly excited if he came here.}

been told by a geordie friend of mine whos in the know, that newcastle are preparing a £20 mill bid for carrol which they expect it to be accepted, thats why they have not followed up there interest in de jong

I think we need 2 players this year a right winger another forward who knows where the net is carrol is stayin

First time poster but view site alot. I have inside info lads, exciting signing is FABIO BORINI he will join Thursday for a undisclosed fee, likely to take the number 12 shirt.

Happy to share

Michael 68

You may be right my friend, not quite sure though, how this could possibly be construed as an " exciting signing" who " the fans will love"

You know those emails you receive claiming they want your help to move a large amount of money and all you need to do is give them access to your bank account? There's always an error or absurdity in the email isn't there...usually something the fraudster didn't need to include and then got wrong? Well in this case it is the reference to a shirt number.

I agree with the first response, not exactly a jump out of your seat here we come champions league signing. Borini is more a content state of mild satisfaction response.
Andrew

Well done for reading the BBC website also Rodgers said he will sign 1 or 2 players in the next week (Borini) then said he will sign someone who will excite the fans so not necessarily this will be Borini.

Very very poor signing if it's true I'm well gutted with this rumour

If true, then is that Pacheco gone? Isn't he no 12? He could change his number I guess but......

Inside info hey!! Source? Of course you can't say or have you just read what Macca said days ago or read one of the 200 threads on here!!

09 Jul 2012 21:38:47
Borini will 100% sign within next 48 hours. Ramirez is being looked at but is no where near where the current speculation places it. Carroll is staying.
Noz

How does carrol fit in to rogers style of football!!!

How did Danny Graham?

Anyway unless somehow someone offers the 35m I doubt we would sell.

Looks like you could be right amigo.

Liverpool have made a £350,000 offer for Dale Jennings of FC Bayern ll, he was on the books of LFC before joining Tranmere. His development has been monitored by Brendan Rogers, he was interested in bringing him to Swansea on loan last season, but Bayern were unwilling to loan him out, but are more willing to thrash out a permanent deal.

Kaiser Cogburn

He was let go at Liverpool due to his bad attitude, he was no angel at Tranmere either. The lad attracts trouble can't see it myself.

09 Jul 2012 21:20:36
Borini will be signed by end of the week 100% done deal, around the 8 million mark, good young player who an only get better,

Big chambers

I suppose you BR gardners sisters ex binman! if LFC dont say it, then it aint happenin this is the liverpool of old. no more false hope only as rafa says FACTS

09 Jul 2012 21:17:56
bbc say were closing in on borini ed any truth?
lfclee {Ed022's Note - I'll only answer this once, but to be perfectly honest, I do not think this is true. Last I checked, Borini did not wish to move back to England, and was considering his options elsewhere. I still remain unconvinced of interest in Borini from Liverpool, but who knows, I may be wrong. To me it comes across like panic-journalism.}

Damn. I was really looking forward to seeing that bizarre celebration of his :(

Exactly. There are no reports coming out of Italy that Liverpool want him.

BBC will only report if they believe there's a strong likelihood of it happening.
Sir Masher

Sly sports make no news on it. but tuttomercato make a news yesterday.

09 Jul 2012 21:00:07
BBC reporting that our first signing is Borini. Apparently the fee is £8M.

09 Jul 2012 20:58:05
I know I have already posted on this site today, but please remember I have been posting the same message for weeks now and I am sure the eds can verify it.

A Brazilian is due to embrace the Liverpool team.

Damo Again

Why dont you give us a clue as to who this brazilian is then if your so sure?

Ummmmm yep they come in packs from the supermarket and by the sounds of it you have been eating to many BRAZIL nuts

Its lucas. hes giving the whole team a big hug.

And again u succeed in revealing nothing give the name of this Brazilian or don't bother if I had to guess loan move for kaka but that's just wishfully thinking

It's not a player he's talking about, Rodgers has spent half the transfer kitty on a back, sack and crack for every squad member already at Liverpool :D

Is wagnar off x factor goin around givin hugs again

09 Jul 2012 20:57:45
Matias Suarez to Liverpool this will be announced saturd {Ed022's Note - I wish.}

09 Jul 2012 20:51:23
Evening Eds, great work. Our first signing is going to be Mr Borini.

Cheers

09 Jul 2012 20:41:46
hi eds, just looking at and even though i dont trust any bookie, but the odds for clint dempsey have been cut down from 2/1 and now into 4/7. do you know if fsg would want someone a little younger or would dempsey fit into there plans? {Ed022's Note - All I know is that there is interest in Dempsey from Liverpool.}

Hes 1/1 on slybet ,it looks like he is coming ,but i think just to warm the bench as him and downing would be fighting for the left wing.and yes i think FSG would allow as its i think the deal will only be around the 5million mark ,will get that back easy if players leave later on in the month

HAY EDS HAS DEMPSEY BEIN PICKED FOR USA OLYMPICS TEAM? {Ed005's Note - I'm not sure mate.}

Would there be any link between american owners wanting american player..? Or just coincidence..?

09 Jul 2012 20:40:21
Liverpool will reveal that they have signed Victor Moses for £10 million on Friday the 13 of July... {Ed022's Note - That certainly would be unlucky.}

09 Jul 2012 20:27:32
Might be over thinking.but with the Italian and Uruguayan journos saying rameriz will be done this week and then BR saying an exciting signing to be done this week maybe just maybe??

09 Jul 2012 20:26:50
BBC sport (they don't post rumours) saying BR has lined up Fabio Borini as his first signing.

They do post rumours. They have a rumours section.

JitB JFT96

It wasn't in the rumours sections which btw is not written by them

It is technically a rumour. All the BBC are basing this on is the fact that Rodgers said today that an 'exciting' player will be hopefully joining the squad before the end of the week. If you read the article again, it merely says that LFC may be signing someone soon and it then says that Rodgers has been looking at Borini, plus '4' other players. BBC are just putting up the player that Rodgers has worked with before at Chelsea and Swansea (they think it is most likely). LFC havent said anything about Borini yet.

Yeah apologies, they do post rumours in the rumour section from that days press and various websites. This was posted on the home page.

09 Jul 2012 19:21:34
One of Brendan Rodgers's potential signings this week will be Bet Etxebarria from Real Betis, a midfield playmaker very akin to Xabi Alonso which Rodgers rates very highly.
The other player will be a forward.

The Big Man.

09 Jul 2012 20:03:26
Just heard Dempsey deal has been agreed £6 million medical being arranged fo Wednesday morning

Great. Just what we needed. Another overrated, old player. Keep up the good work, FSG.

SUMON VAI

Not only is he old and overrated, but he's not a great passer of the ball and doesn't work hard in midfield....so ideal really.

Hes that overrated that he outscored all our midfield single handedly, he may not be the big big singning were hoping for, but most definately will be a good addition, what LFC need right now are players that will put the ball in the back of the net, an dempsey does just that, just my view on the point....

09 Jul 2012 19:24:41
been told that Ibrahim Affelay is a definate target !

he could be signing before we start our pre season tour

lw12

09 Jul 2012 19:11:16
Jovetic to Liverpool for 17m + Aquilani deal this week. Won't say I told you so when it happens.

If so, why not sign your rumour?

Coop

What will you say when it doesn't then?

Willster :)

You won't say i told you so full stop. There is no way it will happen

09 Jul 2012 19:07:58
Spearing, Downing and Adam will be shipped out. Henderson has next season to prove himself. Carroll will be sold if a good offer comes in.

I wonder what goes through person's head when they click on the button knowing that they are going to send a BS rumor. What satisfaction is it that they get? Is it just so they can see their comment on the internet? Don't they realize that it is a complete waste of time to do it? That it wastes their time and the time of the people reading it. Don't they realize that it would be a far better site if they didn't do it, that it would save the eds a lot of work and make the site more legitimate? I can understand if there really is a legitimate rumour but people rehashing the same rumors they read on this site is pointless. Why?

Why was Jay at the press conference today then?

Keith

He was earning some extra cash serving the refreshments. Nothing in it. He'll be here until at least January.

Will not happen there on seemingly low wages compared and will stay to give our squad depth without them moaning a saying they want to leave pluss now we have killed there rep no one will buy them for any reasonable amount i herd maybe adam will go to villa but like i said they will all stay to create depth an to replace them we would have to pay high wages

09 Jul 2012 19:06:54
so eds is it true dempsey is on his way?? {Ed022's Note - Not that I know of.}

I really hope not.

09 Jul 2012 19:06:44
ed do u think we gonna sign sturridge and is there any chance of signing alexandro pato from ac milan???? {Ed022's Note - No to both, unless they both randomly decide to halve their wages.}

09 Jul 2012 19:01:31
Liverpool did not have an offer rejected for Granero, but we did have a bid rejected for Ozil. We were told he would be available at the right price but IMO the price will be way higher than we would be prepared to pay. The Robster.

This is true as a German reporter announced it today

Did a real madrid player tell you that at a dinner that you sat beside lol.. Kid gO back to school

Now this is someone who would really excite the fans and that the fans would love like rodgers said but i just cant see us getting him.

As if Madrid would sell Ozil

If we can't manage to get sigg, then why would anyone think we have a chance at ozil? Ludacris assertion

Who is this Ludacris Assertion and is his information reliable?

I have never had dinner with any Madrid player, and Im way past going back to school . But I guarantee we asked for Ozil and was told to come back with an acceptable offer. Whether we do or not remains to be seen..The Robster.

09 Jul 2012 18:28:21
Hi Ed's , hi heard BR mention he knew lucas ages ago when he played for brazil u20's, along with pato, with milan interested in andy carroll, maybe a swap or some deal could be done! Is he the new player expected to be signed by end of the week ?? Thanks ed's Davey H, L20 Kopite {Ed042's Note - I doubt it mate]

Your looking way too much into that

09 Jul 2012 18:27:47
Rumours are gathering pace that our first signing is higuian for 22.5 million euros do you think this is possible eds or just wishful thinking?

Nick from birmingham {Ed042's Note - he is one of a few that is available at the right price from Madrid I believe..}

I normally don't believe rumours like this, but it never stops me from desperately hoping it's true!

KingHeskey

Wouldn't that be just amazing? That would be r missing link because this boy knows where the net is and he is so patent he waits and waits on the bench at REAL and bang he takes his chances when he comes on.
And just to top it off
Ramirez,Allen,a.Johnson and wanyama with a few departures. We can all dream but please let this be true YNWA

Would be a good first signing

I would love it if Higuian was our first player in, that would straight away attract other bordering world class players.

22.5 million euros is around Ł20m

then i would suggest that there is something going on with Andy Carroll and Milan because in the interview he never once said that carroll was in his plans, he just said we'll have a look and access the squad.

Even if the deal with Milan is a loan i'd take it because he is going to get valuable experience in a different league and come up against the League with the best CB's and defensive minded opposition.

And 5 people actually clicked 'believable'. Why are people so deluded?

SUMON VAI

Been watching Real Madrid for the past 3/4 season. Higuain is my favorite play there. He was doing great until he got that back injury that gave Benz the chance. I would be ecstatic if we were to get him to play WITH Suarez. Ed what about Canales? at Real he played great at Racing. Real bought him, loaned him and he got injured. Bottom line Higuain is a poacher which is what we need, the amount of times I cursed at the screen as Suarez laid a ball across the 2 with no one crashing was enough to infuriate me.
Andrew

09 Jul 2012 18:23:32
Brendan Rodgers was speaking on radio Merseyside at 5pm today and said he will complete a deal for a player this week that will excite all Lfc supporters.
It's got to be someone good for him to make that statement on local radio:
My guess is Gaston Ramirez?? fingers crossed:):):)
kidmillions

It cant be gaston ramirez he will be heading of with uruagay team for the olympics

Well dempsey certainly wouldn.t excite me im not saying he's a bad player because he is quite good but not exciting lol gaston id be singing from the roof tops tho

Also BR said he wants him in and ready for pre season so how could he when hes at the olympics

He actually said, "We hope to complete a deal this week which will be a real exciting one for the club," he said.We don't have a wheelbarrow load of money, there is not the money flying about people think there is
"He will be terrific, I'm sure. And the supporters will absolutely love him."
Sir Masher

09 Jul 2012 18:19:43
Hi eds is the 6 mill bid for dempsey true ? Heard anything on Carroll or sturridge ?

An is it me or has the Ramirez rumour died of ?

Great site

Sponge Bob x] {Ed042's Note - it's possible. I highly doubt Carroll will leave this window. Sturridge is a possibility. And I don't know what's going on with Ramirez right now.}

I said a few days ago it was Dempsey coming in hes been 1/1 odds on to join Liverpool the past 2 days now,me personally i think hes not all that hes good but not that good.Ramirez am not sure about as anything that happens with him will be after the Olympics unless he has had a medical at Melwood while the Uruguayan team has been training there,with to me makes perfect sense for a deal to happen.

09 Jul 2012 18:18:28
Could the exciting signing be Higuain?
Where short of strikers for pre-season with Suarez an Bellamy at the Olympics, and BR has good connections with Jose?
Or am i being optimistic and he is going to PSG or Anzi who can pay stupid wages?
Skurks {Ed042's Note - he is a player that madrid would be willing to offload at the right price}

I can't see it sadly.

09 Jul 2012 18:12:16
just been tipped off that clint dempsy was at melwood last night 7-mil l91w

09 Jul 2012 17:54:49
Ibrahim Afellay & Clint Dempsey are the names being talked about on twitter? what do you think Eds? {Ed042's Note - I personally doubt Afellay. Dempsey is possible..}

Is dempsey really going to excite us,dont think so in fairness

09 Jul 2012 17:53:31
Kaka to lfc, lone deal with the option of a permanent deal! Craig from s.wales

*loan
But i still think there is a slim chance this could happen

RedSpud

No chance, the lad wants to re join AC Milan if he does move from Madrid.

Could be part of a deal which could see agger going the other way! Hope we dont lose agger tho...

Can happen as Kaka like to play alongside Gerrard.

So, who's paying his wages because we certainly can't afford them?

KopQueen.

Is he not joining up with Ancelotti at PSG?

Too old too big wages never gonna happen

Lone deal? I hope there will be a few others.

09 Jul 2012 17:41:31
Well it must be a striker Carroll goin out on loan I'm goin with hunterlaar

{Ed006's Note - Carroll isnt going anywhere}

And i reckon damiao, cavani or higuain! in your dreams its gonna be someone like bradley wright phillips {Ed022's Note - World Class player.}

Ed you might be right but BR was very non-committal with his answers about Carrol and Bellemy in his interview on the LFC website. He almost sounded like a politician he was that good.

Bill

{Ed006's Note - Bellamy looks like hes going to Cardiff, maybe as they play in red now. Carroll I cannot see going. Maybe its because I want him to stay!}

Ed006 is a star! no sitting on the fence here. Good man.
May I ask one question please? Is there a general concensus between the Ed's that there is one or two favourites to sign this week, or does nobody genuinely have a clue?
RNred

09 Jul 2012 17:36:50
sly Radio confirm that Clint Dempsey is set to sign for £6.5m

Why would we buy an almost 30 year old?

So our Boston owners have the irish angle covered ( BR ) now the all american, well Borini can cover the italian-american vote, that means all we need now is a mexican and their marketing exercise will be complete.

Dont u think sly or some1 would have announced this Aswell or b4 them ?

Sly radio is a fake twitter account

Another average player who had one good season just like Adam, Downing and Henderson and who is turning 30 in march? You gotta be kiddin me

So, this is the exciting transfer BR was talking about? A 30 year old player? Wow, how exciting!

SUMON VAI

Agree with above poster hopefully not dempsey would just turn out to be a adam...i.e a big fish in a small pond at their previous clubs

09 Jul 2012 17:36:38
I posted earlier but i dont think it went on the deal this week will be Clint Dempsey for a fee in the region of £8m

I seriously hope not

Thats not the one to excite all liverpool fans cant be simplyy caint

09 Jul 2012 17:33:08
sly radio (didn't know it existed) claiming we have signed clint Dempsey

M

Is this the exciting new signing? Is this some kind of sick joke? RedTurk

09 Jul 2012 17:16:53
Hi eds,

Just wondered what your take on BR comments on Carroll today are. Do you think we would be willing to let him go or if he wants out for any reason?

Many thanks

{Ed002's Note - I made my views known on Carroll a while back. I would not be surprised to see him leave if an acceptable deal could be found.}

If the club can get good money for Carroll i think he will be sold

He didn't once say that carroll was in his plans nor did he say that bellamy was in his plans.

plus downing, adam and henderson will be squad players shelvey is most likely to go on loan to Swansea unless BR see him as a player that he will definitely be using then Wilson or Pacheco will go to swansea on season loan.

The problem Ed002 is that there won't be an acceptable offer unless LFc think 10m or 7m is acceptable

Ed006 claiming Carroll is going nowhere while Ed002 claiming he would not be suprised to see Carroll leave?? Bit of a contradiction there Eds, I'm not takin piss here love the site I'm just curious... it's obvious that you guys gather info from different sources but is that info not shared? Who's right and who's wrong or is it just opinions from different Eds? Personally I hope Carroll leaves he's not the type of player to fit into BR plans he under performed for KK and although he finished the season brightly it's still not good enough for LFC.. one swallow doesn't make a summer! I think BR should cut his losses we badly need a proven goal scorer at this time and age should not be a stumbling block within reason of course as I believe missed goal oportunities cost the club dearly last season! Keep up the good work Eds and good luck to LFC and BR

K Spion

09 Jul 2012 17:03:03
Hey eds,
is Philippe Coutinho a possibility this season for us...... i think he would be a great addition!!
Cheers!
YNWA! {Ed002's Note - Perhaps a slim chance.}

09 Jul 2012 17:02:27
hi eds. when will people get it into there heads liverpool are not going to sign gaston ramirez. nor have they ever tried to do so. it`s boring reading the same old posts time after time. from people saying its a done deal. people saying you`ve heard it here first. in the liverpool echo today. they comfirm that they aren`t interested in ramirez nor have ever been.

Apparently you are in the know then?

How the f#*k would u know clever cloggs.

Liverpool ave signed ramirez dun deal says so in echo

If you ask me, you know as much as the people who claim he has. There's very few people who know if there's been contact or not, so you coming on here and saying he hasn't is just as bad.

Cudge

Well, if the Liverpool echo says it must be true. Fact is no one knows who we're signing or not signing.

So because the echo says so! That means it correct, I'm sure Liverpool Echo is also a newspaper

It's not often that we get a player's agent coming onto this forum to deny a rumour. Usually they make a statement on a broader spectrum such as a press conference or skysports. Well done! Recognition at last for the sterling work done by the eds on this site.

I dont claim to no anything about anybody moving to anfield. far from it. but i have never posted about players coming to or from anfield. but so far from people posting. liverpool have signed or are signing.
xavi, higuian, alonso back, kaka, ramirez, hazard none stop before he went to chelsea. cavani. i ever heard today that balotelli was seen at anfield today when he is in the papers smoking and drinking on holiday.

It is a pity I don't know who you are because if i did and ramirez did sign I'd just laugh and laugh right in your face.

09 Jul 2012 16:52:46
Granero could well be on his way to Anfield with a revised offer this week.The guy would be a useful addition our squad.

09 Jul 2012 16:39:39
High ed's. Just wondering if there is interest in Inter's Luc Castaingnos? I read on the LFC website a few weeks ago that we were linked to him so was just wondering if there was any truth in it. Thanks.

LH1992 {Ed002's Note - Back in January - yes.}

09 Jul 2012 16:13:02
ed do we have any interest in " the new messi" juan iturbe of porto.

wafa {Ed002's Note - No.}

How can you be so sure Ed if you dont know who we are going to sign in the next few days?
Or do you??
It's going to be a long week. Lol

I can offer some insider shtuff on iturbe hes a lefty and quite good on fifa

Why the hell do people keep calling people "the new", The new Messi, isn't Messi 24, he's still in his wrapper, are you saying Messi is passed it? i'll take the old Messi and you get back to Fifa and your homework.

09 Jul 2012 15:37:25
Hi eds Rodgers said he hopes to complete a deal by the end of the week. Do you think the deal might be granero or possibly Sturridge? {Ed029's Note - Outside of BR's team no one knows, there is a chance that it could be one of them but similarly it could be Ramirez, or quite a few other players that we have been linked with such as Moses etc}

BR says it is a player who will excite all the fans. The only one who I can see who we are strongly linked with is Ramirez who fits that bill
But as Ed's say, it may be someone off the radar

Rodgers said it would be a very exciting signing for the fans. Sturridge and Moses don't fit into that

Doubtful moses we havnt heard the whelan side show for it to be him

I probably predict the transfer will be Adam Johnson from city

I don't know why are you hurrying to know who will be the new guy. When he arrive, you will read about him. There's no point to discuss future transfers preliminary.

"the fans will absoultely love" Has to be Alonso?

If its someone the ilk of Moses or Sturridge , my idea of exciting and that of BR are very different.

How is sturridge bolton wasnt even excited to have him lol i would love him an would get excited but he wont be the exciting signin

09 Jul 2012 13:27:52
hey eds just wondering what type of a player is granero and where in your opinion would he fit into our team.
johnaldinioh {Ed029's Note - He is a creative midfielder and although we made plenty of chances last season he would be a welcome addition in my opinion. I believe he could deputise for Gerrard or Lucas or play alongside them if we try to overrun a game in midfield}

Well that would be a bit hard while mario is still in St-Tropez, France!

Not Granero!,,

If he is BR's signing we should be excited about then Oh Dear. Granero is one of the worst signings we can make(One of the worst players of RM). I would prefer Allen without a doubt.

Ed029 so u mean a player they thought Charlie Adam was u see Charlie Adam being sold if granero is bought {Ed029's Note - Possibly, but I don't know that it is Granero that BR was talking about. Some sites seem to be speculating that it is Borini}

09 Jul 2012 15:29:01
Make of this what you will (i found it quite funny and i dont believe it). I have a friend who works for Merseyside Fire Brigade. He has just phoned me to tell me he was at anfield today and he saw Balotelli at the ground. He may not be a transfer target but why was he there?

I have also heard the Balotelli rumour, but didnt want to post it due to being ridiculed. Cant see it personally

He's on Holiday at the moment in St. Tropez so i doubt he was anywhere near Liverpool

Swap carroll for balotelli?

Not true, balotteli is currently on holiday in st tropez

Get ready to be ridiculed

Cork:Red

He does not fit the Rodgers's idea of ‹‹good personality

Sure it wasn't ngoo?

Lol don't think rodgers would dare risk having suarez and balotelli in the same team going by both of their track records!

Red Lee

Possibly saw Djibril Cisse. They both have similar hairstyles.

Balotelli starting fires again

Balotelli was at anfield but it wasn't mario it was his brother

Mario balotelli goes where he wants: dont question it

09 Jul 2012 15:22:46
I am pretty sure Gaston Ramirez is not one of the two signings this week for BR. He stated in the press conf that he hopes to have the 2 players for the start of preseason which Liverpool leaves for next week. Ramirez is currently with the Uruguay Olympic Squad. So that rules him out for 1 of the 2 for this week.

Why does it exactly? You do know the Olympics are in London? Which will mean that the Uruguay squad will have a base, likely in England!?

Why would that rule him out? I thought that the Uraguay team were training at Melwood
ReDCake

The Olympics is held in GB and Uruguay's first game is in Manchester so why can he not be the first signing.

It rules him out because he will be at the olympics with Uruguay rather than us on the tour...BR said i think that the new signing will be on tour with the available squad.

As being the original poster of this comment it rules him out because he wont be able to attend the preseason tour.

Quote from BR on LFC.COM
"For players to be associated with Liverpool is great, but the reality is we've only made three or four enquires about players and we hopefully can close out one deal this week, maybe two.

"We're certainly hopeful we can do one and then look to add to it over the course of the pre-season¦..ť

"But certainly, come the beginning of the season I hope to have the squad that we can take through. Obviously after August, that's it through until January. It'll be a case of piecing it together through until then and building a squad that can hopefully compete at the top end of the league. That's ideally what I want to doť

Those comments imply that at least one of the the signings will accompany LFC on the U.S. preseason tour.

The poster is saying that Rodgers hopes the player(s) can travel for the pre season games and despite being in England Ramirez clearly can't go on the US tour due to the Olympics.

I'm not saying it is or it isn't Ramirez but the post makes a good point.

One of the player Rodgers is referring is Klas Huntellar and the other is Victor Moses..

Im sorry but all he says is that he wants to wrap up a deal before pre season not that he want to take a new signing on tour!

He has an agent dont he?

Having both watched, and read, the interview, BR did not imply that any new signing would be accompanying the team on their pre-season tour. He stated that he hoped to tie up one deal now and then add to the squad during the pre-season in time for the start of the new campaign.

The one question that I would ask to the original poster is, considering that you are apparently taking everything absolutely literally, do you believe that all managers are 100% truthful when talking to the press?

Ed's
I seen the cost for Baroini at around 20mil.. do you think that it could be less then that maybe around the 12mil mark. Would the fact that the owner of Roma is a minority owner in also FSG? And That a cut rate cost could happen? {Ed002's Note - There will be no reduction because of the Roma owner's link to FSG. £20M seems too much to me, 20M euros is perhaps a better number. Either way, it depends whether or not Liverpool bid, Roma sell, and the guy wants to move.}

He isn't good enough for us.

09 Jul 2012 15:09:25
Could it be that BR is waiting to see what interest there is in the likes of Carrol, Suarez, Agger, Skrtel, Reina, before he moves ahead with any new acquisitions.
The loss of these players would have a dramatic impact on LFC (maybe not AC as much though).
Theoretically BR would have to 'rebuild' the entire squad if all 5 moved (though unlikely it will be all, but 1 or 2 are possible).
I really feel for BR, there is such a 'Media circus' around LFC, and everything is under the damn microscope.
Hopefully we can retain all our 'stars', as it would be a sad day if any left.
Think how we still 'lament' the loss of Alonso.
Here's hoping 'common sense prevails'.
Nuff said.

Common sense? on here, surely not ;)

09 Jul 2012 14:44:03
Eds have we ever shown interest in Etine Capoue ? I think he is better than M'vila and would cost half the amount. {Ed002's Note - Etienne Capoue has been of confirmed interest to Tottenham, Schalke, Arsenal and Lyon but Atletico Madrid are pushing hardest for a deal. There is an unconfirmed report of Barcelona showing interest as well.}

09 Jul 2012 14:41:09
Liverpool set to bid for brazilan wonderkids lucas, oscar and coutinho acc. to my mate.

Ed is he right, do we have a chance of getting these 3? Plz reply {Ed002's Note - Perhaps a chance of Coutinho. The others no.}

Would love Lucas Moura, he is world class. I'd settle for Moutinho though as he is something special also. Doubt we'd even look at these guys though. There are not the types of players we go for these days

09 Jul 2012 14:22:59
Hi ed i have just read the interview of BR in which he told lfc are closing on 2 deals this week. Did u have any idea about that who r the 2 players.
Thanx great site. Keep it up. {Ed005's Note - It's really hard to know mate - no-one knows.}

BR does! :)

Is it Chinese whispers? He said one deal maybe this week one we will absolutely love?

He said he is HOPEFUL to sign a player before going to the tour.

According to the media were signing every single player in the world so 2 out of that hhaha

Cheers JJ

One we will 'absolutely love'......
Its got to be Alonso !!

I hope its Ramirez and Borini or Jovetic.

I'll give you a clue.... One of them is Adam Johnson

09 Jul 2012 14:10:37
Our first signing 100% is borini, I'm not going to give a day this week but have been told its a dead cert!

I wonder who your source is? No, wait! look at macca's rumour and all is revealed.

Not good enough

So you must be the only person LFC and Brendan rogers tell prior to signings then?? Muppet!

This does sound believable, I have to say. According to BR, the signing will be one the supporters "will absolutely love". This doesn't fall into that category, but then, I don't necessarily think anyone on the club's radar right now will be a signing the fans will absolutely love.

Wat about alonso the fans would love that probably each and every one

He's a Chelsea reject {Ed002's Note - You mean like Johnson, Cole and Rodgers?}

We are not swansea ffs !
gettimg fed up of rumours of swansea players or former swansea players, not good enough for LFC

09 Jul 2012 14:10:29
According to Ben Smith of the BBC, Rodgers said off camera that the fans would find one new signing "incredibly exciting" and that the fans would "love him".

NT

The return of alonso?

I cant find any proof on this, can you post a link?

Xabi Alonso?

Xxxxxaaaabbbbiiii

I'd say incredibly exciting means a winger or a forward and someone with a few tricks up their sleeve

It says this on sly news app on i phone

Well who Brendan Rodgers believes we we will find exciting, and who we actually do find exciting are probably two very different things.

To me this can only mean 2 things. A very talented up and coming young player like muniain or Ramirez or possibly a world class player that we aren't expecting

To the last poster: Brendan knows what Liverpool is about and he knows the type of players we want. He won't let us down with signings like Dalglish.

BthekingB

People were excited about carroll but did that go well?

Incredibly exciting? The fans would love him? Messi's incredibly exciting. I would love him. It must be Messi then. Don't slate me. Messi's chances of joining us this summer is just as slim as that of Alonso.

SUMON VAI

He's hardly going to say "the guys terrible and the fans will most likely hate him" is he? Don't read too much into things.

Sorry for the copy and paste, but this is from BBC journo Ben Smith, who has proven to be right about several things regarding LFC. He said this on his official twitter page:
"Off camera, Rodgers said #LFC fans would find one potential new player 'incredibly exciting' - 'they'll love him'"

Could this be Ramirez? Or do you think it could even be a player that hasn't even been mentioned on here at all yet?

Cheers

Yate Red

I think on this site alone LFC has been linked to nearly every single player going.
FowlerGod.

It could be Alonso!

Exciting can be one of belhander muniain susaeta ramirez valbuena greizman you get the idea young fast and tricky although i would say most of these are wishful to say the least

Xavi from Barcelona

Alonso isn't really new is he? I think what will narrow it down is the fact that we now need cover cos Suarez has been included in the Olympic squad, my guess is a striker similar style to Suarez.

Rocky

It isn't Alonso. Just let the Alonso stuff go, people.

Could be Sterling..!

Really hope it is Alonso. You can follow the logic of 'if we're going to love him' is it because we know of him and BR thinks we'll like him? Or is it someone who has been here before that he really knows our reaction to? If that's the logic I suppose we could also be looking at bringing Rushie or Tommy Smith back??

Which leaves the other signing uninspiring and not exciting..,

Its on the BBC website, so i hardly think it was said off camera!!

Still want us to consider bringing Tommy Smith back. He would be the perfect defensive foil for BRs play/pass tactics. In many respects he's like me these days. So big that you'd get tired trying to run or pass round us. Loved Peter Thompson too. Could it be him?

Hi guys just passing on some of the information i have based on liverpool fc. From a trusted source I have heard by friday though this is jot definite could be earlier or later on next week we are expecting to conclude a deal with roma for fabio baroini. There is a chance it could not happen but liverpool want him and are in negotiations with roma.

When asked about Milan's interest, Rodgers denied any contact, but the new Reds boss stopped short of giving Carroll a ringing endorsement.

"He's a good player, Andy. He'll always be linked to clubs whether he's here or not. I spoke to Andy on his holidays, and he knows where he stands."

......okay I know this is just a soundbite from today's press conference, but whatever way it gets dressed up, it seems he's as good as gone.

RC

I dont want to get too much into the comment. however, it is not very positive, is it? just get the feeling with the right kind of offer carroll will be sold.

I think BR is not to sure about Andy if a good offer comes in and there is a play he wants then i think he will sell. on the other hand if the offers are not above 25m then i can't realy see liverpool taking such a hit on him after all he did alright in the euros his work rate was good both in attack and defense. He may just want time to asses him and did not want to make false promises wich is fair enough.

I was getting the same impression, he did not seem to assuring that andy carroll was part of his plans.

In my opinion i think the best option would try offload him, specially after an impressive euros. This would push his value up a bit and then we could try focusing on an all out striker.

Also Brendan is really growing on me, I didn't think he was right for the job but now listening to him, i'm confident he can bring back the glory days.

LFCHero ;)!

I thought there was something in the way he referred to AC as "a good young player". Obviously I'm speculating here but I think he wants to keep him but slightly reduce his squad status.

Len

I dont think so like he didnt score alot but got two real important ones the semi goal and then one in the final keep him one more chance one more year

Milan are broke. They will try to loan him. I'd say swap him for Pato but that makes it even more complicated. Anyone heard anything about Huntelaar ? I think we need a goalscorer

"I spoke to Andy on his holidays, and he knows where he stands." is a bit way down the road from the superlatives that BR used for Carra, Gerrard, and the players that have already returned. Probably reading a bit much into it but after his Euros I reckon AC probably looked for assurances of playing time and never got it.

09 Jul 2012 14:02:14
Following BR's interview, it is clear everyone can stop making up rumours about who we are being linked with. Media play everything up so they can write something. Mentioned on here further down are the 2 players we are hopeful of. The main one being AJ from City. This is the transfer to be completed by the weekend. The second is Sturidge. This still has a long way to go. Unlikely anyone else will come in unless we ship out the dead wood.
Cheers
MinioLFC

He said exciting, a player which the fans will love! Let's hope it's more exciting than AJ or sturridge!

You say it's clear that everyone should stop making up rumours then you go and make up some rumours?!?!

Chris in Tamworth

If we keep getting hung to these British players we will confine ourselves permanently to the anals of football history. AJ and Sturridge are rejects of top teams!

Yeah mate, what you on about? where you getting info from as my nan works at melwood and shes heard none of those TWO names....

Ha ha well said chris.

09 Jul 2012 13:37:56
Hi (ED) BR has stated quite clearly that there's not much money for transfers. would you say 8-12 million will be the most Liverpool F.C. will be prepared to spend on one player?
Do you think monies received form players sold will be part of the budget to buy players?

(ED02) I am only asking the above questions for the following reasons:
1) You do have a lot of knowledge/insight and very often your info is spot on.

2) it will help with my expectations as far as eliminating possible candidates

All the (EDs) do a great job on this site and genuinely appreciate the efforts you guys make and understand your frustration with answering the same questions time and time again and dealing with the abuse you receive from time to time.
I very rarely ask any questions to any of the (EDS) and I apologise if you find my above questions annoying or stupid. I'm like so many Liverpool fans just trying to get some info because we care.

Thanks ED
EJ {Ed002's Note - I would not get too wrapped up in actual amounts. I am sure the owners will be supportive within certain constraints. Depending on who leaves and the money raised will likely determine who needs to be replaced and the money to be used.}

Where exactly did BR "state quite clearly that there's not much money for transfers"?
I cant seem to find this quote?

He.s not likely to come out and say the owners have gave me 80 million to spend so every player we try sign goes up 20% is he but like the other guy i cant find it any where either

Hi all,

I have heard from a friend who works in town for a sports agency on admin that we are lining up deals for Krasic, Kjaer, and either Munian or Sturridge (depending on whether chelsea are willing to sell) in the very near future. I posted a couple of weeks ago about Krasic and Kjaer and I have been told both players respective clubs are in no hurry to let the players go as they want the best possible deal for both. I personally feel Krasic would be a good addition and could give us a good attacking option on the wing that we have so desperately lacked in recent years. Kjaer however I dont really see the need in bringing him in, undoubted ability but with the figure reported to be around the 12m euro mark I really dont see the point unless either Skrtel or Agger departed the club. Just my opinion anyway, what are your thoughts eds have you heard anything regarding Krasic Kjaer Munian/Sturridge deals happening anytime soon?

Thanks

Victor Wanyama of Celtic will be first in the door followed by Real Betis Winger Alejandro Pozuelo.

Zaraz {Ed028's Note - Lennon made clear that he is not for sale}

09 Jul 2012 12:55:30
Based on a combo of reliable info (Macca & Ed002) and common sense, the most likely arrivals are:

Dempsey
Krasic
Allen
Granero

Cheers JK

Common sense has nothing to do with it. It's down to be Br and lfc.

Krasic, Allen and Granero are unlikely.

No, we will not get older platens on high wages, krasic 28 and dempsey 29, not realistic targets, unless they want to play for free

Common sense should have told you that Allen is out of bounds due to BR's agreement with Swansea!

MR EM

Macca also said possibly borini. any reason for his exemption?

Krasic is absolute garbage mate

Ramirez
krasic
borini/de jong
vargas

Realistic
ramirez
moses
sturridge
and 1 signing no1 expects

I agree with Mr Em, before typing rubbish think about what you are typing , we cannot sign anyone from Swansea for 12 months!! honestly if you think about what you want to type before you write it you'll save yourself and us time

Krasic? Dempsey?

They all play basically the same position how many midfielders do you want?

As one of the eds have stated the 12 month thing with Swansea is more gentleman's agreement than set in stone. If Allen were to become available (say a transfer request) I'm sure an offer would be made by Buck.

Dempsey.
Borini
Ramirez
Sturriage.

Wait & See...

Genuinely think Carroll with Go on Loan.

Even if Dempsey Is old, He's still an all round Player and obviously shown he's capable with several other clubs chasing him. Liverpool are obviously not gonna sign MASSIVE signings like City.. But I think with the squad and a few more signings, We'll be up there. People need to watch players play before they comment.

BR can Sign people from Swansea.. They're isn't nothing in writing stating that he cannot. Why don't people listen before going Mad at other people.
We need to stop getting Highrate over signings.

watching brendan rodgers on lfctv right now and he says that he hopes to complete one singing this week! any idea on who it is ED002? {Ed002's Note - Afellay, Moses, Wanyama - who knows?}

As brendan rodgers said on lfctv, liverpool havent got much money to spend so i dont think it will be big name players that everbody is hoping for cheers EDOO2

Well Ed002 hopefully someone on here thats why you guts edit and run this Rumour site to unveil information isn't it.

Also i posted a reply in Banter and you didnt post it - any reason why?

YNWA jns {Ed002's Note - Could have been another Ed cut it. I am on a train with patchy reception.}

Really hope it's Afellay... Great youngster with plenty of talent. Do some strength training to get him stronger then he will be a real force.

Eds, do you really think Affelay is a serious target and we have a chance? Big Mike {Ed002's Note - I suspect Afellay may well be an option. Afellay has been out injured pretty much all of this season and I think future chances at Barcelona may be limited but the kid is keen to stay and Barcelona seem keen to have him as a squad player. However, I think it is still possible that he will be available in the summer and that Barcelona would listen to offers. Italy looks like one option available to him if he is sold and there may be interest from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle. A move to Lille has been rejected.}

Or gaston ramiriz

Surely its smart move by the club keeping business so quiet, no one has a clue who the club are after, so there is less of a chance of other teams coming in and gazumping our bids and pay packets, I much prefer it this way, maybe business being done publically, contributed to such high price tags on the likes of downing and henderson?

Except, afellay isn't a youngster, he's 26. Not exactly old, but youngster? No way. I think it'll be sturridge, on loan.
SuperDuperSuarez

He said hopeful of bringing in at least 1, possibly 2 this week. Ben smith from the BBC just tweeted:

"off camera, Rodgers said #LFC fans would find one potential new player 'incredibly exciting' - 'they'll love him"

Does that mean the other is cr@p and we will hate him?

Hopefully he can sing

No it means one is an exciting goal scorer/match winner and the other is a defender/holding midfielder.

Maybe his comment about money is more to do with the fact LFC are in negotiations right now! I think that FSG will spend on the right players

The player Rodgers is referring is Klas Huntellar. Mark my words...

09 Jul 2012 10:45:35
Hey edss. Do you know any interest for Toulouse fc player F. Tabanou? Or is the only interest there sissoko? Looked tabanou looking like a great talent! {Ed002's Note - Not from Liverpool.}

09 Jul 2012 10:50:58
Ed's any chance of getting Loic Remy? Does'nt seem to be linked to anyone at the moment.
Thanks RobJ {Ed002's Note - There have been no approaches to Marseille regarding Loic Remy from Liverpool but in January a third party (an agent) suggested to Marseille that there was interest from Spurs and some sort of exchange for Pavlyuchenko was proposed which was immediately dismissed. Spurs went in to discuss options for buying the player outright and Marseille said he was not for sale but they could return with a bid in the summer. Remy would perhaps be interested in a move to a leading side but Marseille have no interest in selling unless a very good offer is made - circa 20M euros - as they need the money. Lille are perhaps showing teh most interest right now.}

09 Jul 2012 10:43:25
ed any interest in coutinho, giovinco or di maria? {Ed002's Note - Giovinco could be used in negotiation - we will see.}

Hasn't Giovinco just moved to Juve? {Ed002's Note - Yes as a resolution to an ownership issue but he has already been offered as part of a deal for someone else, and Juventus are willing to offer him in negotiations as part of a deal for someone else if they can get to the negotiating table}

Wat bout coutinho and di maria...

09 Jul 2012 12:16:24

Afternoon Ed's,Was it just me or was Rogers very cagey on questions about Andy Carroll? Ive got a funny feeling he dont see him in is plans?

Agreed, he just kept saying that he is a good young player but completely avoided the question regarding seeing Carroll in his future plans

I was thinking the exact same thing mate.....didn't rubbish any talks of him leaving and made no guarntee that he would be at Liverpool come the start of the season....

I got the same impression also regarding Carrol I think he's not in his plans.

Or he is sick of people asking

Nah its just you

Your not the only one.If he does'nt get off to a good start when back from his hols.I think Brendan may look to ofload him ASAP.

Agreed. I was watching his body language and movements and he was a little uncomfortable. Not sold he is sold on him.

I guess he just wants to see him train before he decides whether to include him in his plans. Always good to have a target
Man in my opinion. Carroll showed much more desire toward the end of the season. I wouldn't like to sell him.

I cannot see Liverpool loaning out a player that cost 35 million pounds. i also cannot see them selling him at a major loss which they will have to especially to an Italian team as they are all skint.

The guys got talent. I for one would not like to see carroll go. He had a good end to season, scored a great goal vs the sweedes aswell as having a good game and probably shouldn't have been dropped! Against the Italians he looked like he was trying to make the difference with the likes of rooney stood in the same spot the whole game, atleast he showed some passion and effort!

Payed over the odds for him simple fact same applies adams downing henderson giving kenny a check book was like giving a machine gun to a monkey

09 Jul 2012 12:06:06
OK, this really sounds ridiculous, but here in Croatia there's a talk about Dinamo Zagreb's Sammir as Liverpool target, price 6 mil euros. Probably just a manager trying to raise his price. He didn't even play a single game for Brazil or Croatia national team, isn't there a rule about that to get work permit in England?

Yes but they can make exceptions for "young players of exceptional talent".

Is he allowed to play for Brazil and Croatia?

09 Jul 2012 11:30:54
Is there any interest still in Soldado of Valencia or Muniain of Atletico Madrid?

Macca sia they were top targets a few months ago but alot has happened since then.

Also Soldado signed a new deal last month that means his contact runs till 2017, would that rule him out or they just trying to get more money? {Ed002's Note - Soldado will not be moving. Muniain is probably not an option right now.}

Ed how comes soldado is no longer a option ? {Ed002's Note - He has signed a new long term contract.}

There is no player by the name of muniain at ath madrid. There is one from Ath Bilbao. A basc player. would rather burn in hell than play for any madrid team

09 Jul 2012 11:20:25
Just to put an end to the tello rumours. Just found this on the espn website.

"I still have a deal with Barca and I intend to spend many more years at this club," Tello said. "I am convinced that this is the right place for me and that I wouldn't be happy at another club."

Not that it was going to happen anyway.

Ed any idea whether FSG would consider sponsorship for a redeveloped Anfield. In some ways this would be worth more to a sponsor than a new stadium. To be associated with the revered name and history that is Anfield must be of significant commercial value. Sponsorship might even self fund the redevelopment and provide a surplus amount of cash for team building. It would also mean that the extra income generated from a redevelopment could be used from day one to improve the team rather than service loan repayments. The name Anfield is part of our heritage and it would be a wrench to see it replaced, but surely a thoughtful partnership with sponsors could preserve the name would give us the financial leg up we need. Whatever the sponsorship name it will always be Anfield. Reality Red {Ed002's Note - An emotional issue - I fear they might.}

Who cares what the official name is? We would always call it Anfield no matter what. Just like St James' Park at Newcastle.

BthekingB

The plans for a new stadium will probably not happened and there has been lots of talk and plans for the redevelopment of Anfield but the bad thing is the big part of the sponsorship is rumoured to be Air China so they would be wanting the stadium to change to have their name in it somehow. Lots more info will probably be released this summer about redevelopment of Anfield.
FowlerGod.

It used to be Everton's ground anyway if we are going to bang on about history... I would like to see a new stadium with the shopping centre an hotel 70,000 min as its so hard to get tickets at the mo. We have the best fans an with an extra 30,000 there it would be even better an 30,000 happy people because they got tickets... Get the season ticket waiting list down to half the time would be nice....

Would seem to me you could do something like rename it to 'Air China Park at Anfield' or something of that nature?

Naming rights for an existing stadium have far less value than a new stadium - because regardless of what it is officially called, people will always call it Anfield.

It would only be temporary anyway. All sponsorship deals end, albeit it might be 20 years! I think it would be worth it as it would push revenue straight down to the bottom line which ultimately means better players and more success.

just been informed by close freind, that, GASTON will NOT be joining LFC anytime soon, shame as would have loved seeing him play in our shirt, and no im not being all doom an gloom, im being a realist....

RED4lifeNOTjust4XMAS

And is your close friend in the know?! Or is he just a man utd fan?!

I don't think he is as great as everyone thinks he is, he is a good player but his goal scoring and assists were not great last season

And does this close friend have any ties to the club

Or does this friend just read Twitter ? That is most likely.
CR

I knew it would happen. Seems like we'll once again have a frustrating summer. Missing out on top targets & buying rubbish players like Carroll, Downing, Adam & Henderson. I don't blame BR. No good player would want to come to Liverpool. It's a club on the decline. There's no telling exactly how far we're going down.

SUMON VAI

Bologna are not the best team and not many players score alot in the italian league. But i like the way fans start saying hes not that good as soon as we find out lfc cant buy him. RedTurk

This site would be a lot easier too read without everyone shooting everyone down, ok I accept people ridiculing obvious idiots who are just needlessly slagging something off like the appointment of new owners or management without giving an educated reason or justification but this guy has just posted a a rumour he has heard weather it be from a credible source or not. That's why it's called football rumours or Liverpool rumours, if you don't like hearing rumours go on the banter pages or a different website.

Think this is BS to be honest. Daily post said that we weren't but i still think we will go in for him

Sumon Vai what absolute nonesense....it is reported that Gaston was watched under Commolli and Dalglish. How can you say we are missing out on our top targets when hardly anybody knows what those targets are??? you assume that due to rumours on Twitter that we are after him but its has been stated in the Liverpool Echo today that Ramirez is not thought to be a target under BR so how are we missing out?.....The only other player we have lost out on is Siggy and to be fair a Ł8m or so player who had a decent season at Swansea is hardly a top target..............Negative, impatient, nonesense.....Brendons First job is to asses the staff and the playing staff and identify targets from there. 9 days into the transfer market and people are all ready upset.......chill out and stop clicking the refresh button on Twitter, it will do you good

There is no substance to this

Maybe we shoot people down because they make carp up, who is this friend?? We are just supposed to trust a bloke because his mate said something

Its all downhill from here I'm afraid and ppl please don't come up with things like we may have better players in mind!

Fuzzy Zone

You haven't got any friends.

A Realist? I thought you said you were informed by a close friend? Realism has nothing to do with it mate.. I smell a serious rat.. You are an idiot

SUMON you are a miserable negative minded person. There is no way we will finish below where we did last year and every chance of an improved showing even with no additions to the squad.I admit it is very frustrating but blimey mate, give them a chance.
CR

He is right. Gaston Sangoy will not be joining LFC.

The Liverpool Echo also reported this story.

List of misses keeps increasing were after dregs at knockdown prices

To the posters that say im talking BS, well see at the end of the transfer window wont we, and for those who feel the need to know who my freind actually is, alls i will say is that hes a well respected sports writer for the manchester evening news, with many credible contacts himself, and id rather trust his word than many others ITKs, alls i was doing is passing on what i was told.......

for a sight based on rumours and rumours questions you eds dont half whine about answering repeat querys. use the search function is not good enough and tbh it puts me off what is otherwise the best rumours site on the web. now comes thee 'if u saw how many repeats we got' statement. if you dont want to repeat answer dont run a rumours site. which is always gonna produce repeats as people will want day by day updates. {Ed002's Note - It is hardly day-by-day updates. I would guess there were several hundred posts yesterday asking the status on Gaston Ramirez. The answer to the question remains the same:

As I have said previously Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club but would not be at all surprised if a push was made to sign him particularly if someone leaves Liverpool. Ramirez was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - but Liverpool did not follow up on their initial interest after having the player watched. Bologna will not now listen to offers less than 20M euros. However, it remains most likely that Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Spurs, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. Discussions have taken place between Bologna and Manchester City, Napoli and Juventus. The talks with Juventus do continue and after Wolfsburg met with the player's agent talks are now being organised between Bologna and Wolfsburg. Gaston Ramirez's agent Pablo Betancourt has now also made it clear that Juventus and Wolfsburg are interested in his client and that he knows of no on going interest in the player from other Italian clubs.

So we try and create a balance rather than post that answer several hundred times a day which would have everyone complaining. If we just delete posts, people complain. It is impossible to satisfy everybody but we still get trolls like you bleating that you are not happy regardless of our efforts.}

I think the eds do a fantastic job considering the about of 2 year old posters claiming to be ITK, posting their teams from FM2012.

If anything I would prefer not the read the same question over and over again, why people can't just scroll through and read previous posts is beyond me, leave the eds to finding out info from sources and not constantly having to tell people cavani, pato, etc are not signing!

Keep up god work

Hobbo

Hardly being a .......... {Ed002's Note - The Editors have a constant stream of MFs like you to put up with. Another three banned - I bet the fans love your daily trolling of the site.}

Long Live the Ed's!!

The eds do a great job, and being on this side every day I wouldn't fancy reading the same thing over and over! Great job eds!

Ricky NI

I would like you to run a site like this and see how long it takes you to start using the same answer or saying use the search function id give you 2-3 days tops i kno if it was me id be rocking back n forth in a chair muttering nonsence by now and people like you should realize how much of their free time the eds give up and how hard they work to run this site.sorry about yet another rant eds. CRAIG

All the eds are asking is to simply search for what yuo need to know before asking a question. Thats why the search bar is right at the top plain to see for when you first come on the site.

mike b

Let's be honest people who can't spell yet bleat on about others not doing enough are a waste of all our lives, thanks to the eds for culling trolls like this.

If u don't like it don't come on here any more the eds do a great job and got avtremendous amount of patients for baffons like you

Oh and BTW Ed002, how are you going to keep the ban up when I return from a foreign IP address and post on a new IP? How will you be able to find me? Oh, no, wait, you can't. Troll that. {Ed002's Note - Perhaps it is not you getting banned for your visits?}

If you have a problem with the site then get off it and find someone else to annoy you idiot. Grow a few brain cells and then come back when your ready to have a civilized conversation and not go throwing your toys out of the pram. The eds do this in there spare time for the benefit of us and I for one have No problem with them telling people to use the search function it's a tool on the site. Rant over: ) johnaldinioh

RichTheRed05. {Ed002's Note - Another cocks*cker trying to spoil it for everyone.}

Ed002 I've said it before and I'll say it again. PLEASE make a page for all these type posts. To not sound negative, you could call it 'page criticisms' or something. It would be hilarious. People would love it.

Daveevad

I have said this to the eds before about ....... {Ed002's Note - We are not going to remove the search function and repeat posts just for you. Nobody wants to see the same response potentially hundreds of times a day. People need to learn to read the posts and use the search function.}

Can I suggest a rumours round up page?

Anything new can go into the rumours page and anything existing goes into the ED's Rumour roundup page.

Great Site...lets keep it moving on. {Ed002's Note - There is a Transfer Summary that will be regularly updated - and you can search for it.}

Eds, is there not a way of blocking these people? as they are spoiling this site for the rest of us!

REDBLOOD {Ed002's Note - Not without blocking decent posters and fans and I don't want to do that.}

BOOM! You tell 'em!

This poster is an idiot, who wants to read the same question about 500 times a day. If the eds put up every question you would have to spend half an hour to find a rumour that isnt about Ramirez or Sturridge. If you dont like how the page is run then go and read the crap there making up on caughtoffside or koptalk

Gaz

I'm sorry to say I agree with this poster. Some people haven't got time to trawl through loads and loads of posts and the search function isn't the greatest bit of technical engineering. In seasons past the Eds were more than happy to answer peoples questions and provide little 'extra' bits of insight as the day progressed. Having said that I love this site and I know whatever Liverpool will do this summer will have appeared on here first (amongst the Aguero rumours!). Eds keep up the good work and everyone else keep posting all your rumours whether they are accurate or not as its what makes this site the best rumour mill out there!

Ramirez will not be coming to LFC. No chance. We won't even put in a bid for him. 8 days into the transfer window and still nothing concrete on anyone. Only player we made a half arse attempt to sign signed for spurs. As to why we never made a bit more of an effort would be totaly understandable had we made a real attempt to sign players of the standard of Gaston Ramirez, I cant see that happening. If your intrested in a player and you want to sign him on the sly without other team noticing then right now is the time to do it. Not leave it until others start to put offers in. I cant pass a judgement as yet to BR or FSG but this transfer window will sure hellp me see what direction we are heading. Roll on the close of the window !!

Sorry but how do you know this?? You read twitter and whatever else for your rumours and come up with these assumptions.

Do you actually think we aren't lookin for the right players? Sometimes things take time.

Sisco

Liverpool daily post reporting today that we have not put a bid in for ramirez and the club is baffled at the extent of the links.

I'm a little confused, what will happen if we are not "moving in a direction" you agree with? Will you stop supporting LFC, maybe go to another club who are happy to splash the cash? Yes of course we would all love to see world class players come but what would be their motivation? Would you rather we pay inflated wages for average players? We have far too many of them on the books as it is - sig app getting 70k / week with spuds, crazy money!

BR is new, scouting reports are existing but created by the old management team. Why can't people just get behind the team and the manager... People whine about no money to spend (100+mil in 2 windows) but there is no point in spending the money if it's not going to add to the existing team...

I love this site but am fed up of reading all the bulls*#t about made up targets and and whining messages because you're not satisfied!

Great job Ed's it's a thankless task!

Jp
YNWA

I just don't get how people can moan nad say we have done nothing? Just because we are not splashing news all over that we are making bids etc. doesn't mean it is not happening, some people are never happy.

Oh and if BR knew sig wanted one deal but then upped his demands at LFC I think he should be appluded for saying jog on mate! just because we are a big club does not mean we should waste money.

Players are under management and agents, the person who went to spurs went for money, so do you want players who want to play for the club or who turn up for the big pay check, its all down to agents and unfortunately you have to pay to play and if the want money then do you really think we should want them, LFC first money 2nd anything else i would say bye bye

I have just resigned to the fact that we are no longer a top team. Even teams in the conference league have their loyal supporters. Lets be content with our status and there shall be peace. Quite frankly I do not see much happening this window. The main reason BR was brought in he can work with a limited budget and limited squad, and thats the FSG business model.

Right - and clubs and players always take the first offer that comes along dont they.

Fsg bien cautious about spendin more money on transfer market after the king spent a lot and bought a load of rubbish so think they need the new manager to get his head around wat he got to work with first thats why thers a delay out with the old n in with the new but with financial damage limitation

And how the hell would you know ?

Just watch. Ramirez will not sign 100%

I know i'll probably get pelters for this but i see all the other clubs spending and getting who they want yet once again we seem to be holding back and waiting which inevitably leads to us losing out on our targets to other EPL clubs or abroad and the worst thing is that they players seem to go for really good prices too. Why do we always wait so long and then seem to let players just go to other clubs. If we want to compete we need to spend and stop dawdling in the transfer market or it will be another poor season with another set of below par barely mediocre transfers all bought desperately at the end of the window.i know what you will say but it really is frustrating to see our recent transfer dealing is so poor compared to other competitors like spurs. we always seem to wait to long and its costing us in the league. cheers lee.

Good things come to those who wait. If you don't have faith in BR or FSG then you're not a true supporter. We are all anxious but stay hopeful that BR will bring in the right people for the job, not necessarily big names to please fans but somebody who can change the game.

Mate, when are you gonna learn that jumping in feet first buying anyone that just happens to have a decent video of themselves on YouTube will end up with us spending way too much on rubbish. BR will not buy these players only quality.

I can understand your frustration Lee but we have a completely new management team now.At the moment it looks like we are getting the same old problems but give them time and hopefully they will please us all.
CR

Why would a new Manager buy anybody when hes not even seen what our current squad is capable of under our tactics. Hes not going to buy a player when one of our own could easily fill in the gap. i.e. Right winger-we now have joe cole back so he will get a chance to prove himself.

It would seem that people who do not agree with the clubs transfer policy are chastised as 'We should give it time and wait it out'. Now both strategies have their merits but we must consider that rivals who are already ahead of Liverpool in the premier league pecking order have been purchasing early and at what from the outside seem to be really good prices.

People are pleading that we should hang fire and take deals slowly... this strategy did not work in the past so why would it now? It's like buying a house, you know what you want to pay and what the vendor values it as... if you argue for months over a few extra grand, it's likely you will be gazumped. Rodgers keeps saying that he wants time to review the squad if he is a big a football guy as he says he is then he knows that Adam is shocking defensively, downing does not like taking his man on and only one person (Gerrard) seems to really understand how to play to Carrols strengths. So he needs to go out there and get the players in that can before other clubs do and I don't mean he has to spend 30million per player, he just has to get ones that can do their job and give them a proper pre season to blend in as we have a difficult start to the season.

Let the man do his job. Lets see what the squad is like at the end of August.

Am I the only one who is fed up of hearing that "the manager needs time to assess the current squad" as an excuse for not bringing in new faces. Its not difficult just look at last seasons stats = job done.

Villas Boas didn't hang around - Vertonghen, Sig etc. A decent manager knows who the good players are and where they will fit in. I beleive BR is a decent manager so whats going on?

There is a problem at Liverpool when it comes to getting players in. The club spends month/years scouting the globe for talent only to let them go to other teams without even bidding most of the time.
The list is endless of current EPL players the club had chances to buy - Nasri (before AFC), Aguero, Silva, A Johnson, Mata, P Jones, A Young, Modric & Bale (before Spurs), Cliche etc, etc.

I love LFC hence the frustration, I except we are not mega rich and cannot compete at the top table money wise but surely we can compete with Spurs/Arsenal/Newcastle.

I think our owners are more interested in the business side than putting the club back at the top.

Bang on then we witness others snatching our targets and on the cheap!

Di maria looks set to talk to Liverpool, a long time boyhood fan and BR using his mourinho links after Di Maria has fallen out of favour at the Barnabeau.

Watch this space

Matt

Both Di Maria and Allen incidentally were boyhood United fans. Though it doesn't really matter nowadays. Josh McEachran was a United season ticket holder. Smalling was an Arsenal fan and he snubbed them to join United.

Disney!

Ridiculous post !

That's quite funny.

After all the talks that Ramirez won't be joining, I was pretty sad. But this joke has lit up a smile on my face.

SUMON VAI

No chance for Di Maria to sign in my opinion

Did he fall out of favour or did he dive out of favour, roll around for ten minutes whilst holding his leg and looking to see if anyone noticed?

Ronnie whelan was a big utd fan didnt matter to him.

Sure they just gave him a wage rise of an extre 1m a year so wot are u on about!!

Apologies for the cut and paste. This is taken from today's Liverpool Echo.

LIVERPOOL FC are not preparing a move for Bologna midfielder Gaston Ramirez currently, despite numerous reports to the contrary this weekend.

And rumours had circulated in Italy over the past few days that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was readying a £16m move for the former Penarol man, and that talks between the two clubs could take place this week.

However, the ECHO understands that Liverpool have been left bemused by such reports, and that the club have not made any formal move for Ramirez, nor are they preparing to.

Ramirez, who is also rumoured to be interesting Napoli and Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg, is a player Liverpool are aware of, having scouted him extensively over the past 18 months.

The left-footed attacking midfielder was identified by Damien Comolli, the club's former director of football, as a potential target earlier this year, and tentative enquiries were made during the winter transfer window.

However, with both Comolli and Kenny Dalglish having departed the club, the Reds' interest looks to have cooled, with Rodgers and his staff busying themselves pursuing a number of other targets.

Fulham forward Clint Dempsey is another name that has been linked over the weekend, with Sunday reports suggesting a £10m bid could be in the offing for the 29-year-old American.

Again, however, the ECHO understands that such reports are wide of the mark. Dempsey, who scored 23 goals for the Cottagers last season, is a player Rodgers rates, but no approach has been made by the Reds yet.

One player who could be set to depart Anfield, meanwhile, is Alberto Aquilani, with Turkish side Fenerbahce the latest club linked with the Italian midfielder.

Aquilani, who turned 28 on Saturday, is yet to return to Merseyside after a loan spell at AC Milan last season, having been allowed time off to get married last week. The former Roma man has said recently he expects to start pre-season with the Reds, but it is believed Liverpool would be willing to offload the £17m man for a knock-down fee if possible.

Well lets settle for over priced average players again this season, has br got any money to spend? It doesnt look to promising for lfc, we are seriously being left behind by the big clubs. If br doesnt want to pursue gaston ramirez but he wants borini, and allen and wantd sygurrdson for 20-30 k a week lol, what does this tell you lfc fans? These owners arent able to support a club of lfc size and should really have bought a club like everton. By the way this mascot thing is just the icing on a cake of psss take for the fans. RedTurk

Ramirez isn't coming. Let's just move on.

How depressing....

Must admit I liked both Siggy and Ramirez but hopefully BR has other, equally talented ,players in his sights. Supporting LFC certainly is frustrating but there is a long way to go yet.
CR

Would love to see Aquilani have another season at Anfield, really talented player. Would also rather have Dempsey over Gaston as he may take some time to settle in English football.

Hello all,
Just for the record, the press conference today is to preview the upcoming tour of north America.
Thanks all

Lies I heard it's to unveil the joint signings of Cavani and Kaka

09 Jul 2012 08:27:29
The daily post have said that Liverpool have distance themselves from Ramirez. Looks like ed 2 is spot on again.

Mighty reds

Of course ed002 is always rite, she's a beast!

'shes a beast' lol, bit harsh!

I live in the states and calling someone a "beast" is like saying they are awesome,cool or bad as*. sorry if I offended anyone or ed002 :(.

Must say I find this very surprising, given how sure so many of the contributors to this site were about Ramirez signing. Does that mean that Leo Messi/Van Persie etc won't be signing either. Usually the ex-wife of a mate's cousin who spoke to a taxi driver in Montevideo is such an accurate, reliable source.

Dont go jumping the gun on this one

09 Jul 2012 08:21:52
Carroll to ac Milan... Really

Any truth eds ? {Ed002's Note - AC Milan's position has been well documented.}

After AC taking Aquillani and basically screwing us can you honestly see this happening!! Nope

Sisco

They have a history of getting big target men from the uk i.e blisett and hateley and they did /use the big swede

09 Jul 2012 08:18:33
Eds, Can you comfirm that China Airlines will give funds for the new stadium in stanely park?
Im just guessing at the New name but I hope it could something a bit like New Anfield. {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of a decision to build a new stadium right now. And if Air China were to give significant funds I suspect they would want recognition in the naming. I remain of the opinion Anfield will be updated.}

If a new stadium is built i still think that fsg and the stadium sponsors will be missing a trick if they use the old designs - it really should be a multi purpose venue like the Arizona Falcons stadium that can hold other events like concerts and or athletics as well. it would quickly pay for itself if it was used for more than just football and would also bring a lot more business to the area.

09 Jul 2012 07:54:33
Just heard that Brendan Rodgers/LFC is dealing with Real Madrid/Mourinho to bring Angel Di Maria and Callejon to LFC.Any truth Eds.. {Ed002's Note - I would doubt Di Maria will be moving to Liverpool this summer.}

Eds all i keep hearing is i doubt this i doubt that why cant di maria be a possible target if its a signing thats gonna excite the fans fr your reactions too what everyone says or ask you its a negative response you are normally spot on but yr giving us noting here i just put this dwn as another season i look forward too watching just football an not liverpool season looks bad alreay {Ed016's Note - Sorry we will just change everything to suit you or you no what. I very much doubt Di Maria is an option.}

09 Jul 2012 07:52:55
Eds as macca said that we will sign only young players . So is there any possibility that we will sign players after olympics because it will very easy to scout because olympics will held here.
....
J Red {Ed002's Note - Perfectly possible.}

09 Jul 2012 07:45:19
No liverpool bid for Gaston Ramirez. Only viable bid has come from Juve and Wolfsburg. According to an italian jurno. He said Liverpool have made no move to sign him or talk to the Bolonga. The Jurno also said if he was going to England it would likely be to Man city not liverpool. This is because Man city have already talked to his agent a number of times and have been told to be kept in the loop.

Well 2 italian jornos said hed be signed last weekend so .....

09 Jul 2012 04:23:59
Hey eds... Do you actually think theres serious link to ramirez or is it just another false rumour. I mean why is it soo hard for liverpool to just for once surprise us and buy a bloody good player. I mean 16 million for ramirez considering todays market is a bargain. And we actually have the lure of uraguyans suarez and coates. We need an attacking mid and he fits the bill. It must be the lfc way... We can fork out high money for players that are well average yet when thier a bargain on the table we just let it pass. Just wanted to know eds are we serious about ramirez because to me it seems to good to be true. Thanks if you manage to reply.
Simon hill {Ed002's Note - The same answer still applies.}

Na we never sign good players do we, I mean suarez has been terrible since he came in ;p

Cudge

Very true ... good post

I will put money on that you have never watched him play

09 Jul 2012 02:49:36
Guys I know your sick of hearing about Ramirez rumours but they surely must be worth a shout because the media watch section on the lfc website has been very quiet over the Gaston rumours to maybe keep rivals' noses out. They haven't used one of the hundreds or what seems like thousands to the eds, of stories. Eds do you think they could be using this as a tactic
JK

{Ed002's Note - No.}

09 Jul 2012 01:24:43
I see that when you go onto LFC TV (now on Channel 429) it says... "5 Shows not to miss on Monday" 12:00 - Live Press Conference? Anybody any ideas, ...are they parading our new mascot ! :-)

I know its kinda unrealistic , but can we go for Javier Pastore? i heard he said that he wants to move to a bigger club and he'd like a move to the EPL. If Aquaman stays will that effect buying a playmaker?
Esso {Ed002's Note - No - I think you have misread something.}

Pastore joined psg and is staying there

09 Jul 2012 01:03:05
Hi Eds, think we will progress any further then just having a look at Bernard?

Watched him the past two games, has linked up nicely with Ronaldinho and looks a real bright spark.

Thanks {Ed002's Note - I would doubt this summer. There were several guys from Btrazil looked at and Bernard was only one.}

Who were the other brazilians?

09 Jul 2012 00:27:35
A message for any of the Eds - As I don't understand how these things work, or who or what your connections are, or where you get your information from (not that i'd expect you to reveal this), is it possible that LFC could be interested in a player, and enquiries, or even bids made that you would not know about, until a player is going in for a medical? In other words if there was interest would you definitely know?

I don't want to sound like i'm trying to discredit what you do in any way, i'm most grateful that you share your knowledge with us, i'm just curious that's all.

{Ed002's Note - Absolutely - nothing guaranteed. Some folks will hear things, others will just keep abreast. But stuff slips through and could well be moving ahead. We do what we can man.}

We understand eds. You guys are awesome :).

Seconded

09 Jul 2012 00:26:22
Not a rumour, just a thought but does anyone think the reason Uruguayan journalists are leaking information on Ramirez is because his agent is telling them to push Wolfsburg into offering more wages or raising their bid and not because LFC are actually bidding??

Tokyored {Ed002's Note - Not so sure too uch of tis is true. A viable target - perhaps soon, but not done yet.}

As I said not a rumour but simply a a thought into where the fire is coming. Hopefully you are right ed and he signs as he's a very good young player.

Tokyored

sorry for the cut and paste eds takenn from mondays bbc sports gossip column:
Liverpool are understood to have had a bid rejected for 25-year-old Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero.

Full story: Daily Mail {Ed002's Note - Don't know but it may be. I would not be surprised whilst the world goes mad on Twitter.}

It could mean two things; 1 that the offer wasn't good enough, 2 granero isn't interested

It's BS
If the journo had anything solid the story would be longer than one line and he or she would want a by-line.

09 Jul 2012 00:11:09
Daily mail reporting we have had a bid rejected for Granero. Do you know if this is true at all? I think it would be great if we got him perosnally but wasnt sure if we have actually bidded
thanks
gareth {Ed002's Note - Don't know but it may be. I would not be surprised whilst the world goes mad on Twitter.}

Just a rumour i heard, we have agreed a £13m fee with Bologna for Gaston Ramirez. Dont shoot me down if isnt true, not my info.

Luis

I heard it was 16m?

Bologna will only accepts offers of 20m (Ł16m) or more

Would make sense of why it took so long because if we paid what they wanted the deal wouldnt have taken so long.... about time we got a good price on a player if true
