Hello ed, again.

You got anything on Christian Pavon interest from us please?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I would think the chances of a move to Liverpool are very slim and I am not aware of any interest - and it would mean Liverpool paying well over the odds for a player in terms of fees and wages to stand any chance of a work permit. There are also discussions ongoing about a move to another club for next season. He will be playing in Sevilla on Friday I would think.}

Hi Eds,

I read somewhere that Max Meyer's contract runs until 2018, meaning in January he will only have 18 months left.

Apparently Klopp was interested in the summer. Do you see us looking to him as a potential wing signing, either it in January or the summer?

Also, if Sturridge were to leave to get more game time, are we scouting Kasper Dolberg, be it as a replacement or just in general? I only ask because I've seen him a bit this season and I think he's ace.

Appreciate the great work you guys do.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool made no efforts for Meyer in the summer and are not showing any interest now. A move to England seems unlikely until he has a walk-in opportunity at first team level - and I am not so sure that would be possible at this time. He does however fit the bill of a young attacking midfield player which prompted previous bids from Chelsea (who would have sent him on loan for one season before integrating him in to the squad) and Fiorentina in 2014. Schalke 04 do not want to sell the player and made it clear to Spurs and Milan who were showing an interest this past summer that any move was unlikely. The player has shared his desire to play in Spain with Real Madrid or Barcelona. Other sides such as Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Arsenal watched him last season but had no real interest.

Several English sides are amongst those that have been looking at Kasper Dolberg, one has held discussions with Ajax and one other has decalred an interest. None of this involves Liverpool at this time.}

Afternoon Eds,

Rumours of Sakho to West Brom. Do you see any truth in this?

cheers for all the hard work.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Lille and Roma may well seek a loan to buy deal for Sakho in January but the issue will be his wages. Housseyni has been spoken to by the club and he should be looking for a new home for the player but for now Housseyni is insistant that Sakho stays and if that is the case he will no doubt be spending his time looking for the deal that suits them and not Liverpool for the summer. Housseyni has been told that the club expect to recover their investment in him. Stoke have discussed a loan with his agent but have said they would need to have Liverpool pay half his wages. The player has said that he wants a high-end side and that will likely rule out any interest from the player in clubs such as West Brom and West Ham who have both enquired with Housseyni.}

Many thanks Ed002.

Ed02 do you see a high end side willing to make a move for him though, one that suits him and the club?

Baz.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Given what we know now, I would doubt it. But they can wait until the summer and push Liverpool in to a bit of a corner - and the club do not want another Balotelli style fiasco. Roma's interest will be driven by what happens in January with another player - Rudiger. Lille do have firm interest but I understand there is no interest from the player in the English sides who have enquired.}

12 Nov 2016 10:10:31
Any possibility of him joining Balotelli at nice Ed? If they're happy with ballo sakho could hardly be worse! And I'd guess they'd be looking at purchasing in January if they are still in a position to win the league?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They have not shown any interest in him.}

No worries Ed thanks for the numerous replies this morning!

Good morning Ed002

I know your busy mate but have you got anything on these Sardar Azmoun rumours stating that we are looking to bring him in January? I have read he has been scouted by nearly every team so i'm guessing there is not much in it other than we have also watched him?

Thanks in advance.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Sardar Azmoun was subject to a very public dispute between Rubin Kazan and Rostov which ended in favour of Rostov this past summer. Stoke had agreed a transfer with Rubin Kazan prior to the CAS proceedings but were aware that it would be very difficult to make a case for a work permit. Everton had also looked at the player last season but, like Stoke, new the Work Permit situation would be a problem. Whilst playing for RK in 2014 it was suggested that Brendan Rodgers was keen on the player but I cannot confirm that. Rubin Kazan received a little over €2M in compensation at the ruling of CAS and have no recourse for appeal. Marseille have watched the player this season and would possibly be interested in the summer, but they remain concerned that his best form comes in International sides who are lowly ranked. Antalyaspor and Konyaspor have attended matches to watch Azmoun this season and Liverpool had representatives at the recent Atletico Madrid v Rostov game but I do not know the reason why - to look at Azmoun (who scored)? Perhaps. So a maybe at best - and perhaps an odd choice.}

Cheers ed. Obtaining a work permit might be an issue then.

{Ed002's Note - Not if someone were to overpay for him.}

Owe right. wouldn't be the first time for us. See what develops. Cheers for replys Ed.

how come overpaying makes a difference to work permits ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Because it is a points based system now. The player needs a minimum of four points and summary goes something like this:
- The value of the transfer fee (alone) that is to be paid is between the top 75% and 100% of all transfers to Premier League clubs in the previous 2 windows - 3 points
- The value of the transfer fee being paid for the player is between 50% and 75% of all transfers to Premier League clubs in the previous 2 windows - 2 points
- The basic wage (excluding bonuses) being paid to the player by the new club is in the top 25% of the top 30 earners at the club - 3 points
- The basic wage (excluding bonuses) being paid to the player by the new club is between 50% and 75% of all the top 30 earners at the club - 2 points
- Subjectively, the player’s current club is in a recognised "top" league and the player has played in 30% or more of the available domestic league minutes - 1 point
- The player’s existing club has played in the group stages or onwards of the Champions League, Europa League or the Copa Libertadores within the last 12 months and the player has played in 30% or more of the available domestic league minutes - 1 point
}

Can a work permit be taken away after a player has obtained one. Like if transfers that took place after player X was bought pushed him from the bracket of 2 points for transfer fee to 1 point or something similar and he then fell short of the point total needed. Is this possible or is it set at the time of transfer?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It can be taken away under certain circumstances, but not the situation you describe. The rules as applied are at the time of the player making the move and the application being made.}

Sandar Azmoun of Fc Rostov linked to us by Tony Barrett who is normally very reliable with info regarding LFC. Never seen the lad play.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

09 Nov 2016 09:28:08
Doesn't seem to have great stats but I won't judge as I've never seen him play. I'd guess that he'd be a replacement for Sturridge as I don't see him staying with us beyond the end of the season - at his age he should be playing every week but I don't think he'll get the opportunity.

With a name like Azmoun, his delivery should be fantastic.

We need cover for Ings and Mane (African's Nation Cup), would make sense.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - Ings was not in the first team squad and Mane will only be missing for a few games - buying for that purpose makes zero sense. What do you do, dump him at the end of January or beginning of February when Mane returne? And Ojo - a kick in the gonads from Klopp as he buys to replace a player gone for a few weeks whilst Ojo fights to get over an injury and back for next season?

10 Nov 2016 04:17:19
Hi Eds, Azmoun will not be replacing Mane but Ings only. Ings will be out for 9mths and Ings is recruited as 4th back up striker and with this injury set back, likely to be sold. So Azmoun will be groomed and called upon as 4th striker til he is ready.

{Ed001's Note - you really have no idea.}

Ed0002 I respect your opinion. let's hope there are a few of our U23 gems that can fill in this season.

And what is your opinion of Michael Edwards being appointed Sporting Director?
