Hi Ed,

Sorry I'm sure you are bombarded with questions today.

Just wondered how long you think this saga could pan out? I would imagine it will prevent us from any January transfers, hopefully it could be wrapped up by the summer?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - The club cannot be sold overnight and it would take some months to, at the very least, get a new baseline. I would expect FSG to continue to support the club and deal with the January transfer window. Players come and go, and that will continue. I think options are still open and if FSG are open to the idea, perhaps they could combine forces with Redbird and that way a merger makes, at leat to me a lot of sense. A Flagship product to start building frtom. I would go that route.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love for fsg to merge with red bird! Even red bull cannot claim to have 2 clubs at level of Liverpool and acmilan together! that's something!

With all respect liver bird
I couldn’t care less what other teams our owners owned or who else was part of the group I care about Liverpool but in the same way if that benefits Liverpool then I’m all for it the business model of the yanks has got us this far and worked well I think a change is needed to compete with the elite now though and not sure they are willing to change or put more money into it . Been very good owners and if they continue to be so I’m happy with that they just need to loosen the purse strings and revamp the squad again but this time without selling the best players to fund it .

Ultimately there’s not much point worrying or speculating, FSG aren’t Hicks and Gillet, this isn’t a fire sale and we’re not financially up the swanny. Personally I just want us to win our remaining games before the farcical World Cup and see if we make some improvements to the midfield in January.

Surely if they would merge/ sell to Redbird they wouldn’t have gone along the route of making it public? Unless they are maybe seeing what others are willing to pay to get a true valuation?

Didn't Redbird already have ac milan ed? Seeing the redbull and city group, they have that one major club in leipzig and man city as their flagship club follow by smaller european based club in their porfolio. Wouldn't having 2 big europe clubs in AC Milan and Liv be too much to handle? Conflict of interest like people say.

{Ed002's Note - Yes they have Milan. There can be no conflict of interest as in RBL and RBS.}

Ed002 this seems to have come out of the blue and at a strange time. Do you think the owners realise they cannot compete with city and now Newcastle and with are start to the season if we fall out of the top 4 it’s going to be a tough task to get back in there with teams around them all ways having bigger budgets. With no top 4 for a few seasons would see the clubs value drop and with what looks more likely from next season a 7 teams battle for only 4 places and with the anfield road end all but completed this would be the biggest return for them.

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Manchester City or Newcastle.}

Ed002, I know you are going to be bombarded with the same questions asked different ways about this whole saga. Just so you know, your insight and patience is very much appreciated. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome. Thanks.}
