strong, strong rumour that fsg's absence from Saturdays game was a major meeting where it was voted that BR would be replaced PENDING THE ACQUISITION OF THE BOARDS CHOICE OF REPLACEMENT, note he will only be replaced if the choice of replacement is willing to take the job.

Agree14 Disagree11

Where's the rumour come from? I'd imagine it would have been disussed at length before Saturday mate.

Any idea as to the choice of replacement??

18 May 2015 17:49:52
FSG are never at the game.

18 May 2015 18:09:40
seems odd to me surely they didn't need to have this meeting during a game could've happened at any time, could have easily done it on the phone/via email.

Don't believe it, I mean they might have it in their heads to replace Rodgers but this seems an unlikely scenario.

I would doubt fsg have managed to narrow down any possible replacement to just a single applicant at this stage.having a number 1 target is 1 thing but if the owners have no confidence in br he should be sacked regardless of 1 manager rejecting the job.you would also hope that with the traditions of the club we often here about that a little more class would be used in addressing the matter rather than offering someone a job whilst br is still in his

my thoughts on this is that fsg had already made the decision on BR going and that this was just about the replacement the bookies are never far wrong and Klopp has come into 2/1 from 7/1 make of this what you will

{Ed001's Note - bookies are normally wrong or they would not have so many people in the betting. They only follow sites like this to get an idea, a good friend of mine is from a family of bookies and he is always asking me for info to use for their oddsmaking.}

I believe the rumour is true. Similar noises have been made through fairly reputable channels.

I can't believe so many fans are obsessed with BR moving on. I think we should back the manager instead of coming out with BS rumours. Let's look at the facts his first season he was tasked with reducing the wage bill and still keeping us competitive. Maxi,Bellamy,Kuyt,Aquallani,Adam,Downing,Cole, all had to go high wages most of them. He was then promised a striker final day of the window because Carroll was sold. Sturridge and Dempsey both promised but neither materialised. We then secured sturridge in the January finishing 7th. His second season we over achieved in finishing 2nd. We then lose 50 goals in Sturridge and Suarez for his 3rd season. Was promised Alexis Sanchez for losing Suarez but instead was offered the ultimatum of taking Balloteli or know one on the last day of the window. Who do we get to replace him Klopp he may be a great manager let's not forget Dortmund finished 7th this season in a very poor division. Let's give him full control on transfers and let him rebuild. I think players like Can Moreno sahko Markovic will improve next season.

{Ed001's Note - that is not true, Bellers was not on high wages, nor was Adam. Cole went because he was shot, not because of his wages. Aqualani went because he was an injury prone donkey. Maxi left because Rodgers wanted younger players. Bellamy chose to leave because he couldn't get in the team. Downing and Adam went because they weren't good enough. Nothing to do with saving wages, that is simply a lie. Rodgers was tasked with no such thing, just utter bull like most of the reasons for keeping him in his role. Just another made up excuse for a failure. All this crap about promises is a lie too, none of that happened. Your whole post is just a total load of nonsense dredged up from some sort of fantasy you had.}

@Johno0123 When rodgers had full control of signings, he bought welsh xavi allen and borini for 26 million - would be madness to let that man have free rein of the purse.

I'm just trying to make points for keeping BR. In his first season like I said he had to get rid of the players mentioned that be high wages not good enough they had to go. He inherited these players. Aqualani played more games out on loan at Juve and Milan than for Liverpool. He was Alonso replacement remember. He first season was rebuilding. His second season we finished second. We've had a bad season losing the best player in the league and losing sturridge. This is not some fantasy in my head like the Ed put it. Just a fan who wants the club to keep the current manager.

{Ed001's Note - sorry but he didn't have to get rid, he chose to get rid, there is a massive difference. If that caused us to struggle, well then it was down to his choices. He chose to rebuild, he chose revolution over evolution, then got us second and chose to rip it all up and start again. He spent over a hundred million pounds in the summer and failed to sort out any of the issues we all knew the team had. Nothing you have said makes any sense, you are pointing out all of Rodgers failures, then saying they are a reason to keep him, while pretending his choice in selling them was not his choice. It is just nonsense. I can fully understand you want to keep him after coming close, despite it being clear he has no clue how to replicate it, but to make up stuff to try and absolve him of his incompetence is another thing altogether.}

"Nothing you have said makes any sense" - Ed

Hate to argue with you Ed but - "losing the best player in the league and losing sturridge" - John0123

That makes perfect sense. Every pundit and observer has said our biggest problem this season has been goals. More than the manager, defense, contracts, etc.

Some have even gone as far as defending Sterling for his poor play as he is being asked to be a striker rather than provider. Gerrard is our top scorer with more goals than our 4 strikers put together. Same problem when Torres was out and we had N'gog as backup.

{Ed001's Note - but that was used as an excuse for Rodgers, when it was Rodgers that chose the replacements, so the lack of goals is down to him.}
